  • We were blown away by Judy's hospitality this past weekend in our getaway from the city. The room was as advertised, the location is central to Luray (walkable to a number of restaurants and entertainment), and the breakfast was amazing!! I highly recommend staying here if you're in the area.

    Andrew2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Expect southern hospitality. The suite was great and the breakfast each day was fabulous! I can not rave enough about the suggestions for local dinning and events that Judy gave us. A true home aeay from home atmosphere. We will be staying there again next time we are in Luray!

  • Lovely breakfast, lively conversation, comfortable bed with soft linens, and great tips for visiting Luray!

    Susan2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Judy and her mom are super sweet, attentive hosts! Breakfast was delicious and we especially loved our fresh baked cookies! Judy was helpful with local recommendations as well as helped us get a discount on Luray Caverns tix. We loved the room, enjoyed the backyard and played lots of Yahtzee! Great location, very clean and super cute!

    Amy2019-08-06T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient stay. Love the coffee bar. Great place to crash at if you’re visiting the caverns or Shenandoah mountains

    Ross2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We highly recommend staying at Peabody's. Our hosts were delightful, chatty, kind and thoughtful. The accommodation was bright, cosy and close to amenities. Spotlessly clean and spacious. We didn't want to leave. Food good too.

    Margaret2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • Judy is a communicative, sunny, and thoughtful hostess. Her home and garden is well kept and she made me and boyfriend feel at home. It was especially thoughtful she offered to serve breakfast to our room with fresh ingredients from her garden! She also had great local recommendations, catering to our personalities and the type of trip we were looking for. Thanks, Judy!

Our Circa 1885 Victorian home is located in the quaint village of "Little Washington". Walk to shops, art galleries, and restaurants. Hiking, wineries, and breweries all nearby. Your retreat has its own entrance, screened-in porch, PRIVATE BATH w/ shower, luxurious pillow-top bed, 100% cotton sheets, indoor and outdoor fireplaces. We also offer plush robes, a refrigerator, and Keurig coffee maker. (Breakfast served upon request whenever we are in town!)
Read by the fireplace in your large sunlit suite; or sit on your screened-in porch and enjoy coffee or tea whilst overlooking our 1.5 acre backyard. Later, watch the sunset from our front porch, then stroll to dinner at one of the two eateries within walking distance. And don't forget to enjoy the nearby walking path that encircles a field where llamas, sheep, and goats graze! All amenities are included, and whenever possible we will provide anything you have forgotten to bring!
Walk to the Inn at Little Washington... enjoy a glass of wine and fine chocolate at Wine Love's Chocolate... or have a casual dinner at our favorite in-town restaurant, Tula's. Several fine shops are within walking distance: August George, Rare Finds and R.H. Ballard's. There are also nice country roads on which to get some exercise (walking, jogging, or biking).
  • This was hands-down the best BnB experience I've ever had! Veronika communicated with us throughout the entire trip, the house was a beautiful and clean space, they provided us with all amenities (even things I wouldn't have thought of!), the breakfast they provided was above and beyond our expectations, and they were so welcoming and open to giving us suggestions for things to do around town (they even gave us a gift card for a nearby cafe!). Next time we visit, we will most definitely be staying at their place 😊

    Renie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay with Veronika and Jeff and hope to return in the fall. The proximity to the Inn at Little Washington can’t be beat, and they were such thoughtful hosts. They served delicious light breakfasts for us each day, and the personalized service made the stay feel really special. Would definitely recommend these hosts if you’re looking for a more affordable and personalized alternative to the Inn, but still want to be close.

    Laura2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Book this now! My fiance and I had an amazing weekend with Veronika and Jeff. Pictures don't do justice to their place so I'll break it down for you :) The Place The house has a mix of Victorian - French Country style that is just charming. The high vintage bedframe was beautiful but more importantly very comfy. If you forgot your books, don't worry, you will find a whole shelf with a variety of books, I even found a book by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. The bedroom has a private entrance with an outdoor sitting area that looks very cozy (we didn't use it because it was February). The best feature by far was the fireplace, oh it was such a treat. It wasn't the regular fireplace that got the room smokey and smelly. It is a remote-controlled one that looks like the real thing and makes it cozy and romantic. The Location This place was near everything, do you want to go hike? Sure, the Thornton Gap Entrance of the Shenandoah National Park was like an 18-min drive away. Do you want to go wine tasting? There are plenty of wineries nearby, there is even one walking distance. Do you want to go to pet llamas and sheep? Just walk two blocks. Do you want food at a reasonable price? Sperryville is like 10 min away, there you will find many shops and restaurants. There is a pizza place and a very nice coffee shop. This place is very close to The Inn so you have all the shops and treats for a lower price and with amazing hosts! The Hosts Veronika and Jeff were very attentive and responded really quickly to our messages and have tons of recommendations for everything. On a regular basis, they do not offer breakfast, but sometimes they do on weekends. We were lucky to be there on a Saturday and the breakfast not only was good but a very stylish one. Jeff beautifully arranged a board with cheeses, cold cuts, fruits, and veggies. For my very long review, you already know that we are definitely going back!

    Nathalia2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely couple with a beautiful home. Walking distance to everything in Washington and a short drive to hikes, wineries and Sperryville. Outstanding hosts with a beautiful breakfast. When they couldn’t provide breakfast one morning, they gave us a gift card to a cute coffee shop. We enjoyed our conversations with them and we’d definitely stay there again.

    Jasmeen2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home, just down the street from the Inn and across from gorgeous gardens and walking paths. Veronika and Jeff's home is clean, welcoming, very comfortable and stylish. On days it is offered, do plan on breakfast at the house, an elegant and delicious start to the day. Both have many tips on places to visit and good spots to eat. Their home is in the middle of wine and horse country, near trails, Luray caverns and small towns worth visiting. This is a short drive from the city, and yet a stunning change in landscape. We plan to return. Lovely, lovely home.

    Jacqueline2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I've been using Airbnb for years and have been to over 15 countries. This was one of the best Airbnb experiences and hosts I've ever come across anywhere in the world!

    William2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Veronika and Jeff are very hospitable. They obviously care about their guests having a pleasant and relaxing experience. They are easy to talk to, eager to offer helpful insight on things to do locally, and provide a great breakfast in the morning. The room is clean, spacious, and comfortable with an electric fireplace and small refrigerator. They also had two robes which was a nice touch. It's location a block from the Inn at Little Washington makes it a great choice for people having dinner at the Inn but rather not stay there afterwards. A final additional perk for us were their cats, which were very sweet. Overall it was a great experience and I'd strongly recommend it for people looking for accommodation in the Washington, VA area.

    Omar2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Veronika and Jeff were excellent hosts, making the place feel like a traditional Bed and Breakfast with a lovely breakfast to start the day. The room was spacious and cozy and the fireplace was much appreciated coming back from a cold hike. Little touches like local tips and having the room equipped with toiletries, books, and coffee and other beverages made the stay more than pleasant. Location is perfect for access to hikes or the Inn at Little Washington. Highly recommend!

  • Wonderful host and such a lovely bed & breakfast! Everyone was super friendly and very accommodating. We stayed and toured the Luray Caverns then hiked Old Rag the next day which is about a 40 minute drive.

  • My friend and I had a wonderful experience staying at the Inn of the Shenandoah! Communication and check-in was easy. It was cozy, clean, and there were thoughtful touches in our room as well as in the common area. It was apparent that they put themselves in the guests' shoes to make sure we had what we needed. It was so nice to meet Megan, who made an amazing breakfast that I am craving as I type and had recommendations of local places to explore. We would definitely choose to stay at this Inn again if we are lucky to be in the area in the future!

Lisabeth is a wonderful innkeeper and chef who willingly accommodated our special dietary need. We definitely plan to return in the future!

  • If you're going to the Caverns, this is the place to stay. Close and comfortable, with just the right amount of privacy. You're close to some awesome views, so make sure to get out and about a little. Betsy was an amazing host - extremely responsive and someone who goes the extra mile! Everything in the previews is accurate, and the breakfast was terrific!

The "Cabbin" of Mountain Home is a cozy, comfortable hiker-friendly B&B just 120 yards east of the Appalachian Trail, on Route 522 (Remount Road), Front Royal, VA. 6 beds in shared space. Reserve 1-6 beds here. See '"Cabbin" at Mountain Home B&B' to rent whole cabin. Occupancy and meals taxes are included in the listing price.
The “Cabbin" is a newly renovated historic building that was once a cabin, but is now a small brick building (with the logs still inside the walls). In the spirit of Appalachian Trail (AT) hiking, most people rent individual beds for a night or two. We've hiked the trail and know to provide hiker-friendly details like boot dryers, a shaver, Q-tips, linens, shampoo, soap, ride into town, breakfast, etc. Walk-ins are welcome, but it's always best to call or e-mail ahead so that we can coordinate. With a paid deposit, you can rent the whole "Cabbin" – look for this as a separate listing on AirBnB. The 2nd floor has 4 twin beds and a small, full bathroom. Downstairs is a small kitchen and dining area and a space with 2 futon beds and a small library. The space is air conditioned (or heated, depending upon the season). For before and after pictures of the (historically named) "Cabbin" (and before and "in progress" pictures of the main house) look for us at: Mountain Home in Front Royal. We also operate a full B&B from the main house.
We love being close to the Appalachian Trail and an easy walk in either direction. We are just a 4-mile hike to Shenandoah National Park and canoeing, kayaking and rafting are available on the Shenandoah River that goes right through Front Royal. We have rehabilitated the 1847 historic Greek Revival Style farmhouse on the property into a full B&B. There are 5 other buildings on the property including a chicken coop and sheep shed which we are also going to repair and restore. We are happy to provide tours. The property is on the National and Virginia historic registers as "Mountain Home".
  • An amazing space and environment!! I loved everything about my stay, especially the breakfast!

    Brigit2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Scott are great hosts. Communication is excellent and makes the whole check-in process and stay extremely easy. I’ve stayed in both the “Cabbin”, and the Main House. Extremely clean, comfortable, and relaxing place to stay. My schedule had me leaving extremely early, so I wasn’t able to take advantage of the breakfast menu; however Lisa and Scott had prepared me a to go-bag with food, snacks, and a drink. You couldn’t ask for better hospitality.

    David2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had made this reservation same day and was extremely thrilled that Lisa and Scott accommodated me last minute! The cabin exceeded all my expectations and it was a pleasure to stay at such a fantastic and historic property! The breakfast and tour of the mansion was an added bonus! The owners truly care about their guests! I will definitely stay at this property again! Thankyou Lisa and Scott!

    Christopher2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Scott were incredible hosts! Something kept drawing me to stay at the Cabbin when I was feeling very indecisive about my selection, and I'm so glad I listened to my instincts! The stay was perfect, even more than I expected. Lisa and Scott were incredibly kind and thoughtful, providing great tips and recommendations for the area and hiking. I wasn't sure what to expect based on the pics of the cabin so I was so pleasantly surprised by the kitchen and bathroom in the Cabbin. Breakfast at the main house (an incredible historic beauty) was also such a nice surprise! Just the right balance between rustic/remote and great creature comforts. It could easily be renamed the Cozy Cabbin because it was so warm and inviting. I didn't want to leave. I'll be back again for sure ... and now it will be like visiting friends!

    Andrea2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa and Scott were so lovely! The cabbin was a perfect little respite from sleeping in my car on road trip. They both took time in the morning to share lots of hiking advice and trail maps. Delicious breakfast! Interesting historical home.

    Kathryn2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay at a solid price. Needed to find a place last minute as I was entered into a pool tournament in Front Royal. Wound up getting a great night sleep, well rested and allowed me to win. Will be back next month

On Main Street in charming Sperryville, this Bed, Breakfast and Ale Works is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, antique stores, a distillery and yet another brewery besides the one that is on site. All rooms have private en suite bathrooms, and also porches for relaxing and watching the town. Most have fireplaces to cozy up to in the Winter. The Oregano Room is on the second floor at the front and has features designed to make you relax: porch with rockers and a table, double headed shower, and fireplace. The brewery in the cellar of the B&B, run by the innkeepers, draws guests and visitors alike. The beer garden can get lively with a fire pit in winter, but the brewery closes at 7 PM, so the evenings quiet down. As a guest, you can still get beer after hours, just talk to us in advance to arrange that. This is a bed and breakfast, offering all the amenities you expect in a luxurious B&B, with casual touches to make sure you are comfortable. The towels are highest quality and plentiful, bath amenities are supplied in self-branded packaging, the sheets are soft and the mattresses and pillows were purchased with thoughts of a blissful night's sleep. We are a professional B&B with 13 years experience. We are fully licensed, insured and know how to meet your wishes. We live on-site, and are available to make recommendations on the best hiking trail for you, make dinner reservations, and provide maps and other suggestions to make your visit to the area perfect. Please note that taxes will be due upon arrival. Taxes, which are separate from Airbnb room charges and service fees, are not collected by Airbnb. Taxes that will be due are 9.3% of the total.
You have your own porch with rocking chairs and a table and chairs, and also a fireplace to cozy up to in the Winter. The on-site brewery is open to the public some days, but beer is always accessible to guests by request.
Sherri’s home is located in Sperryville,Virginia,United States. A distillery, another brewery, an apothecary, great coffee shop, and a variety of dining experiences (from exquisitely prepared and presented to grab and go) are all within walking distance. Main Street is short and quiet, and the town does tend to close down by 10 PM or so.
  • Sherri and Kevin are amazing hosts! We could not have had a better stay. The space is beautiful and the brewery onsite is an added benefit! The location is perfect and Sherri has many suggestions for us for activities in the surrounding area. We cannot wait to stay here again!

Beautiful historic home walkable 2 blocks to local breweries, restaurants, ice cream, antique shops & other fun shopping experiences. This B&B is perfect for cyclists "Bike & Bed" or those wanting to unwind and relax. Lots of room to just hang out - whether on our wrap around porch or stone patio. We serve a nutritious breakfast consisting of local breads, nut butters, egg dishes, fresh fruit. We have a wealth of knowledge of the local area.
The Hopewell House Bike & Bed is the culmination of Alice & Kevin's love of people and cycling. Traveling from the DC area for years to ride their bikes in a safe and less congested area. They fell in love with the Shenandoah Valley – the beautiful scenic roadways, the people, the food, and the fresh air while pedaling miles throughout the valley. They began searching for a house from which they could ride their bikes out of the driveway into the beautiful valley. They were looking for a weekend place that would become their forever home. Retiring with nearly 70 years of combined federal service, Alice & Kevin decided to share their home and the valley with cyclists and their friends and family. Their hope is people enjoy the beauty of valley, slow a bit to relax and take a break from the daily hustle and bustle. You don't have to cycle to stay - but if you do enjoy exercising Alice & Kevin can accommodate you with a gym pass to Anytime Fitness just 2 miles from our home.
Strasburg is a lovely small town with fun shops, delicious restaurants and breweries. We have several wineries nearby - 3 within a 5-10 mile radius. The Shenandoah river access is nearby. Cycling just outside the front door.
  • Alice is an amazing host! She is knowledgeable about the area and provides great tips and advice for things to do that are tailored to your needs and interests. The home is incredibly inviting and Alice makes it a very warm and friendly environment. We can't wait to go back and hopefully, bring our bikes next time.

  • Great place to stay! This B&B is a historical home that has been maintained and decorated beautifully. It felt like a privilege to stay in a home with such beautiful, historic surroundings. Alice and Kevin were wonderful hosts and very knowledgeable about fun things to do in the entire Shenandoah Valley. Yummy, locally sourced breakfasts displayed to delight any palette. If you’re planning a trip to the area, I highly recommend the Hopewell B&B!

  • Gorgeous home in a lovely area. The hosts are welcoming and gregarious and full of information about things to do in the area. So much more fun that staying in a standard hotel ! We were taking a weekend to ride bikes in the mountains and the hosts gave us a lot of local knowledge.

  • We'd highly recommend Alice's bike bnb for anyone wanting to visit the Shenandoah area. Our favorite part was the wraparound deck! Very relaxing. Great hosts!

  • My friend and I wanted to get away and found this gem because it was close to a local Hike, Buzzard Rock and Signal knob(about 10 min drive). Alice and Kevin could not have been any more welcoming and helpful! Their home is interesting and their new bishon puppy is so adorable! We stayed in the room with two beds, both quite comfortable, spacious, extremely clean, and a basket of snacks and water was provided. This room shares a bath with another room and was THE best shower i've ever had! The claw tub had a rain type head and tons of warm water. There was plenty of counter space, and the he towels were so plush, much better than the ones at home. really! Plentiful breakfast was provided and Alice went out of her way to find a full plate that accommodated my multiple allergies (after i told her fruit would be fine). They gave excellent restaurant recommendations, and had a perfect shed to store our bikes that we rode around the town of Stassburg. But we could have just walked as its about 2 short blocks to the main street. The town is good for an evening stroll -cute gift shop, brewery, hamburger/dog place, ice cream, and town green where we enjoyed live music at their outdoor venue. The shops do close early though. On our last morning, we enjoyed sitting on the inviting front porch with our coffee. We had such a great time we decided we will return with our husbands on the next trip.

  • Lisa & Scott were wonderful hosts! Upon noticing we had a group of 4, Lisa opted to move an extra trundle into our large room -- a thoughtful touch representative of her wonderful hospitality, and that of her husband Scott. We so enjoyed learning more about the special place Mountain Home holds in the history of the region and loved reading Annie Gardner's diary. Lisa's recommendations for dinner in the area were great; we opted to head to Royal Spice for Indian food in Front Royal, which was great. Breakfast the next morning was delicious too, topped off by Scott's homemade grape juice! Scott, an AT thru-hiker, gave great advice for an appropriate hike in the area, which we followed in hiking Compton Gap. A beautiful stay in the "beautiful and much beloved Mountain Home." We hope to return soon!

The Thyme Room is on the second floor at the back of the house with a private porch with two chairs. We supply a fresh, hot, full breakfast for you in the morning, and can serve beer from the on-site brewery any day of the week, even if the brewery is closed.
This room at the back of the house has a private porch connected to it. The on-site brewery is open to the public some days, but beer is always accessible to guests by request.
Walking to everything in Sperryville is easy from Hopkins Ordinary, and Shenandoah National Park is in view and a short drive away.
  • This is an amazing bed and breakfast with a brewery attached! The accommodations are spectacular. Cozy, bright, quiet and clean. It is right on the quaint Main Street in Sperryville. You can walk to the general store and grab some casual dinner at the wood fired pizza kitchen across the street. There are some art galleries and shops nearby. Great hiking trails are so close. There are also finer dining locations nearby if you want to treat yourself to something special. Most enjoyable is Kevin’s beer! We are craft beer lovers and have to say, his brews are some of the best that we have had!! Breakfast was freshly made to perfection every morning. Already planning another trip back.

  • Nestled at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains and in the heart of the small but bustling town of Sperryville, the Hopkins’ Ordinary Bed, Breakfast & Aleworks is the perfect base for hiking or antiquing adventures, or just escaping the stress of Washington, DC. Sherri and Kevin’s 200-year old home has all the modern amenities as well as loads of charm. Guests are invited to head downstairs to the Aleworks for a complimentary local brew, which can be enjoyed in the pub or outside by the firepit in the Biergarten with other guests and locals. The area has a wide range of dining options, from the local-favorite pizza restaurant across the street to the top Michelin-rated Inn at Little Washington just a few miles away. After a quiet and comfortable night in one of the charmingly-appointed guest rooms, guests wake up to a delicious, hearty breakfast with fresh-squeezed juice, locally roasted coffee, unique egg creations, and scones with home-made jam (from home-grown berries). Sherri & Kevin are the perfect hosts, keeping coffee mugs full and ready with tips for hiking and other excursions. We will definitely go back!

  • One couple. November 2018. Annie's Room. Sparking clean. Roomy. Comfortable beds. Big bathrooms with plenty of hot water. The house has an airy feel, it's full of light and beautifully uncluttered unlike most historic B&B's. The fresh breakfast was always delicious. Lisa and Scott are interesting and easy to talk with and we looked forward to seeing them at breakfast and when we arrived back. They were available if we needed them, but they didn't hover. The location is central and easy to reach, especially if the AT is your destination. Fine ($$$$$) dining is 20 minutes down the road in Flint Hill. Front Royal, 10 minutes away, has some delicious choices, Thai and American fusion. Of course we'll return!

  • Lisa and Scott recently opened the main building of Mountain Home to Airbnb guests, and it was a truly exceptional experience. Our room was clean and cozy, with a private bathroom. We enjoyed our time around the fire pit with other guests and had a delicious breakfast ready for us in the morning. What really set this location apart for me was learning about the restoration of this registered historical property - Scott was full of knowledge about the building's history and shared with us the details of the work he put in to restore it to historic building standards. We even got to read the Civil War-era diary entries of the young woman whose bedroom we stayed in. We will be returning!

    Elisabeth2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our family had a wonderful time staying in the gardeners room that has been newly renovated! It was so fun staying in a piece of history. We were super close to some amazing trails as well. The breakfast was delicious and we couldn’t of had a better experience!

I would highly recommend staying at their place!

  • This bed and breakfast was incredible! The house is decorated so well and had great spaces for hanging out (like the front porch). The room itself was perfectly clean and the bed was very cozy. The breakfast was so delicious (made from scratch sweet potato pancakes and local sausage) and we loved meeting our fellow travelers. Overall, I love this place because of the thoughtful touches (cookies at check-in, homemade chapstick in the rooms, fresh flowers throughout the home). Alice and Kevin were the picture of hospitality. We felt so well taken care of during our stay and can’t wait to return with family and friends.

  • The Hopewell House is a very special place to stay and enjoy. The hosts are very kind and knowledgeable about the area and are very happy to share their information with you. Alice makes a four star breakfast that is fabulous hearty & healthy. That in and of itself gets you hooked on coming back for more. The area is very close to all things Shenandoah, food and wineries galore. Any time of year is great to visit them.

  • This B&B was great! Came out for the weekend to do some hiking in the area and check out local breweries. Hopewell House was two blocks off main street giving it a laid-back neighborhood feel, but it was still easily walkable to the primary strip. The house was immaculate and beautifully renovated. It is clear that Alice and Kevin spent a lot of time on the detail. There is also a wraparound porch that is a nice place to sit and have a cup of coffee in the morning. Both Kevin and Alice are extremely knowledgeable not only about where to eat and drink, but also about the local hiking and biking routes. They gave me a great suggestion for one of my hikes. If I were to come biking I'd definitely stay at Hopewell and get some of Kevin's extensive knowledge of bike routes. Amenities: Awesome care package in the room with local goods, coupons, and information. And breakfast was awesome. All locally sourced products and homemade baked items. I'd come back just for that. Overall highly recommend, if you're a dog lover, this place is a must.

  • The Hopewell House is an excellent, convenient, and totally comfortable place to stay near the top of Shenandoah National Park. Alice and Kevin are wonderful hosts whose knowledge of the area and commitment to their guests are unparalleled. We will definitely stay again.

  • Alice is a great host, really bends over backwards to be thoughtful - snacks and water in your room, a little pamphlet of local restaurants, trails, and other activities, a breakfast menu (of local foods, yum!) she even made us fresh cookies when we arrived! She and Kevin were so sweet and were always looking for ways to make our stay more comfortable (they also have super cute little dogs!). She's a very hands on host, very warm and friendly and can tell you a lot about the area, but if you'd rather have more space to yourself I'm sure she could accommodate that preference too!

The "Cabbin" at historic Mountain Home is a hiker-friendly B&B just 120 yards east of the Appalachian Trail, on Route 522 (Remount Road), Front Royal, VA. We have 6 beds, a bathroom and a small kitchen and dining area in cozy, comfortable space. Reserve 1-6 beds here. See "Cabbin" at Mountain Home B&B to rent the whole cabin.
Starting in about 2018, we will operate a full B&B from the main house, as well.
We love being close to the Appalachian Trail and an easy walk in either direction. We are a 4 mile hike or a 5 mile drive from Shenandoah National Park. Canoeing, kayaking and rafting are available on the Shenandoah River that goes right through Front Royal.
  • A comfortable place near the Appalachian trail. Their painstaking efforts to get farm house back to shape shows in the details. The breakfast was yummy as well.

  • Such a lovely experience. The hosts are kind and hospitable and really go out of the way to ensure a good stay. And the breakfast was delish! If you’re looking for a great value (or accommodations that allow dogs) the dorm style accommodations in the cabin are great. For something more upscale the main house is beautiful. Highly recommend.

  • The cabbin was a cozy and unique place to stay, and Scott and Lisa were very accommodating, as I didn’t even contact them until 8:30 pm about a bed. Scott greeted me and showed me around and in the morning had French toast, coffee, fruit and juice ready. The three of us had a nice chat before I had to hit the road; I would love to come back and stay in the Big House and explore the town.

The Rosemary Room is on the first floor and is handicap accessible. Its features are designed to help you relax: porch with rockers, a tub and shower, and a fireplace. We supply a fresh, hot, full breakfast for you in the morning, and can serve beer from the on-site brewery any day of the week, even if the brewery is closed.
You have your own porch with rocking chairs, and also a fireplace to cozy up to in the Winter. The on-site brewery is open to the public some days, but beer is always accessible to guests by request.
Walking to everything in Sperryville is easy from Hopkins Ordinary, and Shenandoah National Park is in view and a short drive away.

Our historic home is a walkable 2 blocks to the market square, breweries, restaurants, ice cream, antique shops & other fun shopping experiences. This B&B is perfect for cyclists, hikers, shoppers or those wanting to relax. We serve a nutritious locally sourced breakfast. Pricing varies by room $125--$150
Cycling & walking trail just outside the front door and hiking trails within a 10 minute drive.
  • Alice and Kevin are such a delightful couple. They are so welcoming and generous. It was such a joy to meet them and Lilly (their Bishon). Would recommend them to anyone.

Occupancy and meals taxes are included in the listing price.
The “Cabbin" is a renovated historic building that was once a cabin, but is now a small brick building (with the logs still inside the walls). In the spirit of Appalachian Trail (AT) hiking, most people rent individual beds for a night or two. We've hiked the trail and know to provide hiker-friendly details like boot dryers, a shaver, Q-tips, linens, laundry, shampoo, soap, hair dryer, ride into town, breakfast, etc. Starting in about 2018, we will operate a full B&B from the main house, as well.
I love being close to the Appalachian Trail and an easy walk in either direction. We are rehabilitating the 1847 historic Greek Revival Style farmhouse on the property into a full B&B. There are 5 other buildings on the property including a chicken coop and sheep shed which we are also going to repair and restore. We are happy to provide tours. The property is on the National and Virginia historic registers as "Mountain Home".
  • Lisa and Scott were amazing hosts! We were never left guessing where to go or what to do upon arrival. Any time we had a question they responded within just a few minutes.

  • Lisa and Scott were lovely hosts! They were kind, helpful, and patient, even when I accidentally slept through my alarm and missed my breakfast time slot.

    Carl2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is absolutely perfect! It was very clean, had everything that I needed and was in a great location. Lisa and Scott have added a lot of extra touches that make it a really cozy and welcoming place to stay. Breakfast was delicious and it was great to get to sit down with Scott and learn more about the history of the home and how much work has been put into it. I would 100% recommend staying here!

  • I really enjoyed my visit to Scott & Lisa's Cabbin. zjust a quick overnight stop, but Scott made you welcome as if he'd known you a long time! Very accommodating to all guests, custom made breakfast was a yummy treat to get one's day off to a great start! Meeting new people was a nice part of the trip - trail hikers and the adventures were fun to learn about life on AT. Definately recommend Scott & Lisa's place!

  • I highly recommend Lisa and Scott's Cabbin as a perfect place to stay while exploring the surrounding area! The Cabbin was super clean, had a bunch of thoughtful amenities, and Lisa cooked us an amazing breakfast. The property is in a great area-- 5 minutes into Front Royal downtown, and 5 minutes to the trailhead that Lisa and Scott recommended! Lisa and Scott- the Chester Gap to Compton Peak trail was EXACTLY what we wanted. Thank you so much for a lovely stay, and I'm already recruiting friends to come back with me!

  • Lisa and Scott own a beautiful property on the edge of the Appalachian Trail. They go out of their way to make their guests feel comfortable. From letting me explore their expansive collection of books to cooking breakfast to-order, they went above and beyond. Also, I arrived via the Virginia Breeze bus and was provided a shuttle to the property and then into town. They are kind, thoughtful hosts with lots of interesting hiking stories & tips to share! I will definitely be back!

Convenient, reasonably priced, exceptionally helpful and understanding hosts make the place an outstanding place to spend the night or a couple of days. • This place is a no-frills, comfortable GEM just off the Appalachian trail and I cannot recommend it more highly. Lisa is a wonderful, delightful host -- extremely welcoming and very helpful as I explored the area. This is a true example of a great B&B; breakfast was delicious (and plentiful) and the shared room was perfect for what I needed. Front Royal, the adjacent town, is charming and filled with plenty of places to explore. There aren't enough great words to describe my experience! Definitely stay here if you have the opportunity. You won't regret it.

  • Scott and Lisa are fantastic! My friend and I were spending a weekend backpacking in Shenandoah National Park and wanted a place to stay Friday night. Scott and Lisa’s cabbin was booked, but they were kind enough to make up trundle beds for us to sleep in their b&b basement. We were a little nervous and didn’t know what to expect, but everything was absolutely lovely. Scott and Lisa gave us excellent directions, the bedding was all made up and ready for us, and they served us an absolutely delightful breakfast with a few other lovely hikers. Scott and Lisa helped us find a good 2-day trail and gave a several very helpful tips for our trip. I highly recommend this place. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to stay there again.

  • A health issue prevented me from staying on the property, but Lisa and Scott’s communications were superb. I’m certain the place is a welcome stay for any traveler.

  • My friend and I adored staying at cabbin!! It was a delightful night away in Virginia. The cabbin was adorable, well kept, and cozy. Scott was kind and hospitable! I did not expect breakfast, so that was such a yummy surprise. This place is a treasure and I will be back.

    April2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • What a great historic spot and management was quick to respond to inquiries/requests and even provided a shuttle. The dog stayed too. Sweet spot indeed.

    Shelly2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • This place simply is a small paradise that is a delight to stay at! The owners are wonderful and made me really feel at home. They can also suggest great hikes in the area and shuttle you there. I also met some very interesting people there; and even though many guests are Appalachian trail hikers, you won't have trouble fitting in if you're (like me) just looking to do some short hikes.

    Dominik2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This backpacker cabin is a wonderful respite from the tail or the road. The cabin is snug, but clean and homey, allowing for privacy and organic interactions with other travelers. Breakfast in the main house is a cut above, as you get a personalized hot breakfast and wonderful stories from Scott, all in a beautifully restored Appalachian farmhouse. I can not stress the value of this stay enough. Thank you Scott!

  • Thoughtful touches everywhere, very hospitable from the moment we walked in. House was preserved and themed to a tee of a plantation bed and breakfast.

  • We learned a lot about "slackpacking" and local hikes by staying with Lisa and Scott. We especially appreciated the breakfast, too: vegan + gluten-free pancakes, yogurt, free, teas, and juice. Thank you!

  • such an amazing experience. beyond satisfied. I had broken down on the interstate and was stuck in the town if Front Royal. They accommodated for my last minute inquiry and picked me up to take me to the Airbnb. the space is beautiful. A little cabin that's super homey and filled with treasures. Its tucked away from the business of life. the cabin comes with hot drinks, snacks, and other goodies. you get served a hot breakfast that is cooked by the host in the house. They even gave you options of what you wanted. the host couple ad super kind, sweet, and hospitable. without a doubt made my bad situation into a good time. can't wait to stay there again when I'm not stranded. please stay here and experience it!

  • Lisa and Scott's Cabbin is the perfect place for hikers or other travelers looking to explore Shenandoah and surroundings! I stayed in Lisa and Scott's Cabbin for one night in December before starting a short backpacking trip in Shenandoah. Given the low price, I was expecting self check-in and only the bare essentials. As such, I was really blown away by Lisa and Scott's helpfulness and hospitality: They greeted me and gave me a tour at check in; they offered me parking during my hike for a very reasonable rate ($3 per day); they included a delicious homemade breakfast with the stay; and Scott gave me a free ride to the trailhead when I was ready to start hiking! All in all, a truly excellent experience! The Cabbin itself is small but lovingly adorned with decorations related to the AT and other local attractions. Scott hiked the AT himself in 2012 and he and Lisa have a wealth of knowledge about hiking and other activities in the area. Since I was visiting in December I had the Cabbin all to myself. I chose one of the double futons downstairs and slept quite comfortably. In the summer I imagine it can get a little cramped. The four twin beds upstairs are all in the same room, the two double futons downstairs only have a partial wall between them and the kitchen, and there is only one bathroom in the Cabbin. As such, if you're coming in the summer and you're expecting privacy and quiet then you may be disappointed. But even if its a full house, I think the low price and the outstanding hospitality make it a great deal! I certainly hope to come back again soon!

  • Lisa and Scott were great hosts - communicative and friendly. The breakfast with homemade jams, s'mores over a fire pit, and local recommendations were wonderful.

  • This place was perfect for a brief time in the Shenandoah area. Next time it will be for longer. The Cabbin is a cozy hostel with way more amenities provided than the bare essentials. This place is truly a resource for those hiking the trail or otherwise exploring the Shenandoah Valley. Breakfast was delightful. While I didn’t meet Lisa unfortunately, Scott provided superb hospitality. Cannot recommend this place enough!

    Rhonda2018-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay for those on the App. Trail, Scott has walked te entire trail, and has a book of his journey that serves as inspiration for you to continue on! Very nice couple.
