Places to stay in Pyworthy
Our luxurious romantic shepherd's hut and wood-fired hot tub is available all year round. We provide you with everything we think you will need for your stay ~ beautiful french linen bedding, towels, bathrobes, hair dryer, fairy lights and all the wood for the wood-burner and hot-tub. Awaiting your arrival is a delicious complimentary Cornish cream tea and a chilled bottle of Prosecco, log burner and secluded hot tub, perfectly positioned for the beautiful views. Min night stay 2 nights.
Hutterly Beautiful is the perfect summer and winter retreat - for the chillier days, light the log-burner and cosy down with a glass of wine and a good book – and for those sunny days the secluded outdoor space enables you to enjoy the sunshine and the fantastic views. The top step is the perfect place to sit with a cup of tea and drink in the scenery. Hutterly Beautiful is 18 ft of self contained loveliness. It has been hand-built by a local craftsman to our specification. There is an en-suite shower room with loo, heated towel rail, wash basin, towels and bath robes. The bedroom area is snug and cosy ~ king size bed, individual reading lights, USB plug and a window to enjoy far reaching views. There is a bench with a table that slides out from under the bed and a hobbit log burning stove to help keep you toasty all year round. A fully equipment kitchen which includes butler sink, oven/microwave, hob, fridge with small ice freezer, kettle, toaster, glasses, hand-painted crockery, and cutlery. Outside sits the amazing Swedish wood-fired Hikki hot tub, framed with festoon lights, a BBQ and separate seating area. There is also a wood store where the logs, kindling, firelighters, matches, BBQ coals and spare candles are kept.
Our farmhouse is located close by and there are a couple of houses dotted around us but you are mainly surrounded by lush, green pastures. The field next to the hut will occasionally have dairy cows in it. The village of Stratton is just over a mile away and the quaint seaside town of Bude is over 3 miles. We have a white cat called Brian, who you might see around.
  • An amazing stay in Bude- everything was sparkling clean with lovely touches everywhere in the hut. Very attentive hosts with excellent tips for what to do in Bude ! Highly recommend!

  • We have just returned from a wonderful stay in Hutterly Beautiful! Fiona and Rob have thought of everything and the hut is decorated beautifully with all of the luxuries of a 5 star hotel while still maintaining the character and uniqueness of a shepherds hut. Their extra touches - like the cosy slipper socks and a cream tea and bottle of Prosecco waiting for us on arrival - made our stay so special! We didn’t have the best weather but we really didn’t care as we loved relaxing in the cosy hut with the roaring fire and spending the cold rainy evenings in the amazing hot tub - where you get an incredible view of the sunset if you time it right! We enjoyed everything about our stay and we hope to be back in the future! Thank you Fiona and Rob 😊

  • We booked Hutterly Beautiful as a last minute break when our holiday was cancelled and it completely exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely spotless, beautifully designed & had everything you could possibly need. Fiona was an brilliant host, she was extremely welcoming and made our stay so relaxing. The hot tub is such a lovely bonus with amazing views over Bude. I can't recommend it enough, we are feeling very relaxed now!

  • We stayed at Hutterly Beautiful for our first wedding anniversary. It was absolutely perfect in every way. The space itself it’s beautiful and finished to an incredible spec, the extra touches were very thoughtful and greatly appreciated and Fiona is a fabulous host. We thoroughly enjoyed our few days exploring Cornwall and relaxing on our return. We hope to return again one day 😊 thanks so much Fiona! X

  • Absolutely beautifully finished Shepard’s hut in a beautiful location. Cream tea andProsecco awaited us on arrival and Rob was there to greet us and show us around. Shops and local town of Bude only a 5-10 min drive away and plenty of places to eat out close by. Fiona was very attentive and could not have done any more to make our stay extra special. Would certainly recommend and will be back for sure!

  • Fiona’s Shepherd’s Hut was fantastic. I spent ages trying to find the perfect place for a special weekend and it didn’t disappoint. The hut itself is really cosy and beautifully presented. The view are lovely and the wood-fired hot tub is a great place to chill for an hour or two, feeling more authentic than a standard one. Fiona was also a very welcoming and friendly host. Would highly recommend.

  • I booked this little gem for me and the Mrs as I was in the dog house! Fiona & Rob were amazing hosts & I can’t recommend The hut enough. Night time hot tub was cracking fun, it even remained boiling hot even when we were getting battered by horizontal rain and sleet. The 2nd night was really clear and crisp as we spent hours chatting and star gazing from the comfort of the hot tub again. The best thing is that now I am out of the dog house for at least another 2 weeks! Guys, book it and surprise her with a last minute trip. You won’t regret it! Fiona & Rob......Thank you

  • This little cottage is in a lovely location to jump into the National Parks or spend a day on the beach. The weather was against us but even still we had a lovely little time getting some R&R in the cottage :-)

  • What a beautiful cottage! It’s a small space but it doesn’t feel too tight. Everything was incredibly clean when we arrived. The cottage was surrounded by loads of gorgeous flowers and plants too which was bad for the hay fever but a real treat to look at.

A comfortable open plan layout. Complete with a luxurious double bed, and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. Next to this there is an en-suite shower and toilet.
We are a rural Devon/Cornwall. 5 minutes from Waitrose and a market town for all your necessities. And 20 minutes from the North Cornish Coast and the surfing hotspot at Bude.
  • We had a great wknd at the hut, beautifully decorated, very cosy Bryony and Henry were always on hand if they were needed Would highly recommend!

  • Perfect place for a getaway into the countryside! Beautifully decorated inside and very cosy and warm even in stormy weather! Fully kitted out kitchen and lovely hot tub. Would 100% recommend!

    Penelope2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little sheppards hut all to yourselves. Really nicely done up inside and outside just as nice. Its a little hide away in the countryside and you can see so many stars outside at night! Cook dinner on an open fire and relax in the hot tub, or retreat inside and snuggle up with the log burner on if you prefer. Worth spending that bit extra if you are 50:50 with anywhere else. Head and shoulders above any other similar places we've seen. Not too far from the beautiful Cornish/Devon coast and Dartmoor National park drivable distance for a day trip. We've visited twice and plan to come back again.

    Tom2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect romantic getaway! Bryony and Henry couldn’t do enough for us. The weather was rubbish but despite this they made every effort to make sure it was the perfect weekend. Lovely thoughtful touches in the hut. Beautiful views of the countryside. A great place to escape the world for a few days and relax! We will be back, thank you!

  • Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, such a beautifully decorated environment, we felt so comfortable and relaxed!

    Kirsty2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Hut is a fantastic tranquil retreat, we loved how isolated it was. Being woken up by cows and dogs running around was a welcomed treat from city life.

    Richard2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay! The Shepard’s hut is decorated beautifully and is super cosy inside. The hot tub was very relaxing and has lovely views of the countryside. Very peaceful and quiet surroundings! Bryony and Henry are very helpful and lovely hosts. Would love to come back in the future!

  • A modern haven in the middle of Devon charm, Christine’s apartment was the perfect country getaway. Small touches such as a hanging rack with hangers, large plush towels, and a setting of scones with clotted cream when you arrive, complement the comfort of modern amenities like a flat screen tv, excellent WiFi, and a modern clean shower with great pressure and plenty of hot water. My husband and I came from New York for a wedding in the old rectory and we were thrilled with the level of comfort and hospitality we found at Christine’s. Be warned: there is no place to get food within walking distance of the apartment (the one pub across the street does not open until 5pm, and that’s if they are not away on holiday), so if you are without a car, as we were, you could be stuck. Luckily, when Christine found out we had no way of getting to the nearest Waitrose in the next twin over she very kindly offered us some small things from her own kitchen. Her generosity and hospitality will always be remembered.

    Caitlin2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were staying in the area for a friend’s birthday at The Old Rectory and Christine’s charming apartment was the perfect hideaway from the madness of the weekend! She was a super friendly host and made us feel very welcome. We’d not hesitate to stay here again. The area itself is stunning, we just wish we could have had longer to explore all the lovely walks and nature.

  • Thank you for a wonderful holiday. The lodge provide the perfect family retreat for us. The lodge had everything we needed to make it a home from home and the thoughtful little touches made us feel very welcome. The views from the lodge are simply stunning and the evenings in the hot tub over looking the Cornish countryside all the way to the sea provide us with some much needed relaxation. It was made even more special with the beautiful cows and their calves nearby. The kids loved seeing them everyday! We would highly recommend a visit.

The views from the garden/hot tub were better than expected. Communication from the host was always quick and helpful. Can't fault the experience! Thank you very much.

The communication from Tamsyn was quick and efficient and made us feel very looked after. The house was cleaned to within an inch of its life and was presented superbly. Stable Cottage is a stunning, newly renovated two bedroom cottage - it is light and airy and we are happy to accept two dogs free of charge. We are situated close to the village of Pyworthy which has a lovely, dog friendly, pub. We are only 10 miles from Bude's amazing, sandy, dog friendly beaches too - great for surfing! We have three well stocked coarse fishing lakes which are private for our on site guests - we have carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch.
Stable Cottage has a lovely king sized bedroom downstairs with a fabulous rain shower - upstairs (spiral staircase) is a twin bedroom with its own WC facilities. The luxury fitted kitchen has everything you will need for your stay. There is plenty of seating available with a 50" Smart TV and DVD player. Outside you have private parking, an enclosed area with a private hot tub and access to our five acres of land with three fishing lakes. We do have guest WiFi but, being rural, it is not brilliant at the moment!
Pyworthy is 3 miles away with a lovely pub (the Molesworth Arms). The village of Whitstone is only a short drive away with a fantastic village shop / post office / bar area and it is open every day from 07:00 - 21:00. Zoe2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sally's cottage is modern and peaceful surrounded by lakes and woods offering a very relaxing getaway. It's ideal for people who are looking to get out of the city for a few days and do some walking, fishing and enjoy the countryside. One thing perhaps worth noting is the host's house is metres from the cottage meaning it's not entirely as secluded as we expected, the outdoor area felt less private than we had anticipated. The amenities were great, the place was well equipped with a TV and a big selection of DVDs and board games. Would recommend.

    Mario2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sally has thought of everything at this place, hot tub was great, definitely be returning in the warmer months to take advantage of lakes, grounds and outside space, it was perfect 5*

    Lisa2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay! It was our first holiday as parents needing a break and I am glad we chose Sally’s place it was perfect! The welcome pack was great just what we needed after a long drive and the cottage had everything you needed and then some. I highly recommend this little gem... o and the Hot tub was amazing!

    Natalie2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle! We had freshly baked scones waiting for us when we arrived which was a lovely touch and a very welcome treat after a 3 hour drive. We visited Bude town during our stay which is a lovely coastal town with nice shops and an amazing beach and only 20 minutes drive from the cottage. There's also lots of wildlife to be spotted near the cottage and we were lucky enough to see a little owl on our drive back to the cottage one evening. We especially enjoyed the hot tub which is amazing in the evening as you can see thousands of stars in the sky! We had a wonderful relaxing break here I'm sure you won't be disappointed if you choose to book.

  • Great location, warm welcome and lovely accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Everything we needed to make the very best of our visit. Highly recommended. Thanks Sally 😊

  • Sally the superstar! At short notice got a cottage available for us within 4 hours and communicated throughout, saved our holiday

    Luke2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Nicely appointed, pretty barn conversation in a very quiet location. We were cosy and warm and comfortable. (We stayed in late November).

    Michael2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really nice stay at Stonechat Barn. With an upside-down layout (the living room and kitchen are upstairs in the roof, installed with the sky lights so we could enjoy the natural light, and the two bedrooms are downstairs), the barn is very clean, tidy and private, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for a week-long getaway. The beds are also really comfy! I was a bit worried about the internet connection given the rural location (I work from home and needed access to my emails), but it was absolutely fine with a consistent connection. You probably can't stream TV very well, but why would you want to on holiday? Thank you Sally for letting us stay and for your quick & friendly communication -- we'd be pleased to come again! Emma and Amanda

    Emma2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic barn conversion, clean and well presented. We found it to be a very relaxing place with our two children and dog, all were made to feel very welcome!

    Steve2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • We only stayed for one night but the barn is perfect, very well kept and delicious fresh eggs also available! Thanks for having us!

    Nick2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay. The barn conversion is really lovely, beautifully done, stylish, spotlessly clean, very homely with lovely touches that make all the difference. The garden is a really useful and very pleasant additional feature and was great for our dog as it was fully fenced and secure. Beautiful tranquil surroundings and location, fresh eggs, a great welcome, attention to every detail, what more could you ask for in a stay? Just that we had a little longer to enjoy it maybe, as we were on such a fleeting visit. We would love to come back!

A beautiful detached cottage within the grounds of the owners home. Nestled away in a quiet, rural setting you can enjoy a special, peaceful break! Just one mile from the village of Marhamchurch and a few minutes drive to the bustling town of Bude means you have close access to local shops and pubs. Bude's beautiful beaches and Widemouth Bay are all within three miles. The area is a walker's dream, with the South West Coast Path in walking distance, Bodmin Moor and Rough Tor close by.
Two bedrooms one is a super king bed and the other can be made up as Super king or twin (see photos). Both bedrooms enjoy stunning views across the countryside and out towards the coast - binoculars provided in one of the bedrooms to make the most of what you can see. There is also a double sofa bed in the dining area so the house best sleeps four; but could add another two with a small supplement to cover laundry. Smart TV, modern furnishings, quiet garden, sonos music system and more all available for guests use. There's always a home baked cake, biscuits or scones along with tea, coffee, etc. to welcome you. There is an option for a slow cooked meal to be left ready for your arrival (price for this on request after booking).

Also within driving distance of Padstow, Eden Project, Port Isaac, Tintagel and various national trust properties and gardens. For the adrenaline junkie Bude offers dozens of activities including coasteering, surfing, climbing, and more. Great walking and running routes from the property and a local Park Run a few miles away around a beautiful lake. We really love where we are lucky enough to live and want to share it with you!

  • The Farmhouse is everything it says on the tin and more. Spacious house, large comfortable beds, lots of bathrooms , great kitchen & all very clean, private & quiet. Couldn’t have found a better place to stay, it felt like home rather than a holiday house. 😊

    Josephine2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • We cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful farmhouse and it’s hosts. It had everything we needed and more, it was so homely we did not want to leave and will definitely be returning. Great base to explore from, beautiful surroundings, sparklingly clean and such a high standard of decor. I wanted to bring the bed home it was so comfy. The extra touches of tips for trips, board games and books, every kitchen utensil and appliance and the log burner just added to the already amazing place. Joanne and Janet were so responsive to what we needed. Best break in the UK we’ve ever had. Thank you x

Our little cottage is a stunning, newly renovated one bedroom cottage - it is light and airy and we are happy to accept two dogs free of charge.
Littlecot has a lovely king sized bedroom with a fabulous en suite wet room. The luxury fitted kitchen has everything you will need for your stay. There is plenty of seating available with a large Smart TV and DVD player. Outside you have private parking, an enclosed area with a private hot tub and access to our five acres of land with three fishing lakes. We do have guest WiFi but, being rural, it is not brilliant at the moment!
  • My partner, dog and I stayed here for my birthday and had a fantastic time. On arrival there were fresh scones and Sally had even brought me a birthday card! The cottage was spotlessly clean and very modern. It had everything you could need for a short break. The best bit was the hot tub of course! We enjoyed our stay so much we booked an extra night and look forward to returning! Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • Stayed here for one night as a base to see north Cornwsll and Devon. Great location with amazing views. We had our two dogs and Hayley and Richard were amazing hosts. So welcoming and accommodating. The room was lovely with a super comfy bed and the shower was amazing.

  • Hayley is an amazing host, and we can’t thank her enough for looking after us and the 2 dogs !! The place has an exceptionally comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom , great shower and views to die for! If you need dog sitting , Hayley’s place is perfect and Hayley is a brilliant dog sitter . Right behind the house is a huge secured field . It has a coupe of ponds that they can swim in .... our dogs loved it ! We especially loved the eggs ( direct from Hayley’s own chickens) on toast for breakfast !

    Christine2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • You will not be disappointed if you stay with Hayley, the facilities are outstanding in a beautiful bungalow with amazing views staying with a lovely welcoming family who made us feel so relaxed and at home. We also loved their two dogs who were very well behaved.

    Oluf2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing host. Hayley makes you feel right at home and is one of the warmest, friendliest people you could meet. Me and my partner arrived late and so just went straight to bed, but had we been less tired would have made use of the spectacular views and fantastic hospitality. The room was equipped with tea/coffee facilities, comfortable bedding and is very quiet at night. We slept really well. We also had our own modern bathroom with a powerful shower. Highly recommended.

  • We loved our stay in Nuthatch barn, a quiet and beautiful converted barn with a perfect amount of space for a couple to enjoy a weeks break. Sally had prepared cream tea for us when we arrived which was especially nice to enjoy after a long drive. Everything we needed was there for us and Sally was easy to contact if we had any questions. Only a short drive from Bude and the beaches where parking was reasonably priced in the town centre. Thoroughly recommend a stay, we hope to return in the future.

Jasmine is a self contained cottage adjoining our 15th century farmhouse. It has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing get away from the hustle and bustle of busy lives. Located 3 miles from the quaint seaside town of Bude, you are close to many attractions in North Cornwall. Open plan living downstairs, with open tread stairs leading to the bedroom and en suite shower room. A beautiful king size Victorian bed, feather pillows and duvet ensures you have a wonderful night's sleep.
You will be welcomed with a bottle of wine or Cornish cider, homemade scones and fresh flowers. Lots of extras in the cottage - fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher (we provide the tablets), microwave and full size convection oven. Private courtyard with festoon lights, patio furniture and a Webers BBQ. There is a pebble effect electric heater in the sitting room area. Central heating is controlled via the main house, however, we always check with our guests when they would like it on. There is parking for one car but please contact us if you need an extra space. Being in Cornwall the roads around us are winding and narrow with high hedges - for your own safety we recommend tooting your horn when going around some of the bends.
Stratton is the nearest village, just a couple of miles away. It has a lovely old pub, The Tree Inn and a convenience store. Other places of interest like Padstow, Rock, Tintagle, Boscastle, Eden Project and St Ives are all within an easy drive.

  • I can not fault this place. 10/10 place to stay and I would recommend to anyone!

  • A truely stunning and extremely comfortable (especially the bed) converted barn. A great deal of thought has gone into the design/layout ensuring privacy with lots of usable space. Hot tub was fantastic, after walking the coastal paths, as was the sauna. Jan and Chris are excellent hosts who provided us with some great recommendation for the area whilst not being intrusive. Garden is totally enclosed and therefore no escaping dogs. We will return, thank you.

  • Such a beautiful place, clean, lovely thoughtful touches, loved the hot tub and sauna. And amazing bacon and sausages bought from their very own charcuterie on site. The outdoor showers and drying facilities were very much appreciated after a surf. Chris and Jan were friendly and helpful . Could not recommend this place enough. One of the best places we have ever stayed in! Thank you so much.

  • We found this amazing place by mistake, we wanted to go away for Christmas but was finding it hard to decide where. We came across this amazing looking retreat. We arrived early and both Chris and Jan worked hard to accommodate us. When we pulled up to Wonnacott (cosy barn) the wow factor was out of this world. The barn was in beautiful condition with nothing out of place Chris and Jan had taken the time to put up a beautiful Christmas tree this made it look even more special. Everyday was great, from sitting in the hot tub admiring the outstanding views to snuggling up by the log burner with a good bottle of wine. Book this with the confidence that it is 5 star sparkling clean and the facilities are second to none. Be assured you will not be disappointed if you choose to stay here. Thanks again Chris and Jan you made our holiday unforgettable. We will miss you Cosy Barn!! xxxxx

  • The place was absolutely beautiful and Chris and Jan were brilliant hosts. We had a really lovely break away doing walks along the beach with our dog. We ended up staying at the place far more than we expected as we wanted to make the most of it! We loved the views from the windows and chilling in the living room next to the log burner. The sauna was amazing to use in the cold weather! We absolutely loved the place- definitely the best Airbnb we have stayed in.

    Susie2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely stylish space, the photos really don’t do it justice. Nice and close to Bude too with a lovely hot tub and sauna to come back to and relax.

  • Chris and Jan’s place is absolutely amazing! We stayed for our first wedding anniversary and it was the perfect place to celebrate. The house is very stylish, sparkling clean and has everything that you need. And the hot tub is just perfect! It is also really close to Bude. Chris welcomed us and was so friendly, and Jan was really responsive to our queries. We also really loved our welcome hamper. We had the best stay and can’t wait to come back! Thanks Chris and Jan!

  • This place is such a gem! Stayed for a weekend as my wife had always wanted to stay in an American wood cabin like in the films. Chris and Jan have put so much thought into the design of this cabin and you really do feel like you're in the middle of the USA. The fireplace is a real showpiece and everything within the cabin is such high quality. I couldn't recommend this place enough, it's a must stay!!!

    Tom2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

Jan and Chris were helpful, friendly and all round the perfect hosts. I would 100% recommend Chris and Jan’s air bnb, I wish we could have stayed longer :) And the outside bath is bliss!

  • Absolutely stunning Wild West themed cabin. Perfect for a romantic weekend away, set in beautiful Cornish countryside. The open fire was gorgeous and the outdoor bath was the perfect temperature and a brilliant touch. Loved that there was a welcome hamper too.

  • Fantastic place to stay - everything has been thought of! The level of effort that has gone into it, really is impressive! Would definitely recommend staying here.

  • What a privilege it was to be the first guests to stay in one of the most beautiful accommodations I have come across, the detail of decoration to fit the theme was amazing! We loved every inch of it. The copper bath tub outside was one of the quirkiest and best addition to this wonderful place the temperate was perfect and stayed hot the entire time we were in it. The surroundings were beautiful as well so peaceful and quiet. Jan was so friendly and helpful with getting us there. Chris greeted us as we arrived and was amazingly friendly, approachable, helpful and we are so impressed with his talent on building such an amazing accommodation. They really are superhosts and we cannot wait to stay again whether it’s the moonshine shack or one of their other wonderful places. You will not be disappointed when booking.

  • We had an amazing time staying at The Den. Louise and family were great hosts and very friendly. The area is very beautiful with so much space for us and the kids to explore and play. The Den was very cosy especially with the wood burner. We had a very enjoyable time making pizzas in the outside pizza oven. Perfect family holiday! We will definitely be returning. • Wow, what a great location! A stylish lodge in peaceful Cornwall countryside with Bude just a few miles away. The lodge was really well decorated throughout and the woods and table tennis area were great for the boys to enjoy and explore when we weren't at the beach. Because the cooking is outside I would say it's like extreme glamping so it was just perfect for us, we loved it.

    Kate2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place away from hustle and bustle of city life. We thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and open space and hammocks! Everything to be expected from a country break in a beautiful place. Thanks.

  • We had a lovely time at the Den. Louise was very responsive to all my messages and gave us some excellent recommendations on local surfing & coasteering schools. We loved the inside wood burner and the outside BBQ facilities. It’s located in a quiet & peaceful area - good for morning run near the field and 20mins drive to the beach. Overall a very pleasant experience, we’re glad that we chose The Den and hope to return some day in the future xx

    Charlotte2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • quick contact from the start, we were unable to make the first night of the booking so Louise kindly offered us another night for free. Fresh milk and bread in the fridge on arrival, the place was spotless and the kitchen has all you need in addition to the outdoor cooking area. Shower was lovely and hot. TV only runs DVDs so something to think ahead with although they have a selection to choose from. Lots of wooden toys, puzzles and books for kids. No hair dryer tho. The location is really quiet and only 15 - 20 mins from Bude and a 2 minute drive to the Lakes. Louise and family were super lovely and welcoming we will definitely be returning. Our Cabin had been our sanctuary whilst we rented our main house. This year we have decided to smarten it up and offer it to the discerning traveller. Located within our grounds you have your own garden sun trap with upmost privacy whilst enjoying its surroundings. We are a short distance by car from Bude 4 miles approx. Bude has some of the best beaches for swimming surfing and body boarding in the country for you to discover, as well as some amazing walks along the cliff paths and inland.
Ideal for couples wanting a relaxing break. Not suitable for people with walking difficulties etc as the access to the mezzanine is steep. No pets sorry
We are semi-rural and are close to the main route into Stratton-Bude.

  • We had a great week at Sally's place with our two young children. The house is comfortable and in a lovely quiet setting overlooking fields, but only 20 minutes from the beaches at Bude. Perfect place for a family trip. Sally was a great host. We hope to return soon.

In the depths of coastal Cornwall, Tinker joins two enchanting showman’s wagons with a 17th century underground bothy via a secret passageway. The living area and kitchen is housed in the bothy, which links seamlessly with the two wagons that house the bedroom and bathroom. Frequented by honeymooners, this spellbinding sanctuary has everything you need for an idyllic retreat: from your own private two-person hot tub, to a fairy-tale-like meadow garden with sundowner and fire pit.
Welcome to Tinker Like something straight out of Middle-earth, Tinker is truly unique, a romany styled haven oozing with magical charm. Every nook and cranny is filled with bespoke artwork, one-off furniture pieces, quirky reclaimed accessories and hand-painted wall murals that create a charming style unique to the property. Starting life as a 17th century building carved into the hillside, the underground bothy now houses the open-plan living, dining and kitchen area of Tinker. The tailor-made kitchen perfectly blends functionality with rustic character. The kitchen is fully kitted-out with a gas hob and cooker, fridge-freezer, kettle, microwave, toaster, knives, pots, pans and plates – plus a large 18th century Yorkshire sandstone sink with a handmade copper-pipe faucet. In addition, there is a large wooden countertop crafted from an original Jacobean refectory table top, providing ample space for putting together those special evening meals. Oh, and did we mention you get a small hamper of nibbles on arrival to get you started? Tinker is wonderfully cosy and warm throughout due to the central heating. However, should you need some extra warmth, in the lounge area there is a fantastic wood burner set in an inglenook, laid with enough wood and kindling for your first few days. There is also a Smart TV and Wi-Fi so, if you want to, you can keep up with what’s going on in the real world while you’re on holiday in a land far, far away. As you follow the secret passageway out of the bothy, passing alcoves adorned in gypsy décor and faux sheepskins underfoot, you’ll come to the bedroom and bathroom wagons. We know what you might be thinking and don’t worry, you don’t need to go outside to get to your bedroom and bathroom because the wagons are fully built into the passageway. Climbing up into the bedroom wagon on the wooden ladder-steps, you’ll emerge into a cocoon of comfort. The wall-to-wall super-king bed is draped in velvet curtains – perfect for shutting out the world and losing yourself in the luxury bedding. Despite being cosy, there’s a full-length mirror, storage space and hangers so you can feel right at home. The bathroom wagon is a true showstopper, with a freestanding cast iron slipper bath in the centre of the room and a large shower overhead. Enjoy complimentary Duck Island toiletries, Egyptian cotton towels, towelling robes and slippers on us. If that’s not enough, the wagon door fully opens out onto the rolling Cornish hills, so you can enjoy the fresh air while soaking in the tub. However, the private outdoor area is where the true magic of TInker sets in. Completely lose yourself in a mass of bubbles in the two-person, completely private-use hot tub that sits on a wooden deck illuminated with festoon lighting. Or, meander past the outdoor fire pit and down into the wild-flower paddock and stop off to laze on the sun beds that look out to sea. For those looking for a brief glimpse into a romantic nomadic life look no further than Tinker.
Our little piece of paradise is set in the secluded rolling hills of the Cornish countryside just two miles inland. Sheltered by two-hundred-year-old oak trees, our corner of Cornwall is abundant with wildlife and breath-taking views of surrounding pastures – and on clear days you can even look down the lush green valley and out onto the glistening Atlantic ocean. Close to the coastal town of Bude – an hour’s walk down a beautiful canal for those looking to stretch their legs - this is a perfect base for a genuine Cornish experience. You’ll be spoilt for choice with places to wine and dine; from bistros and fine dining to micro-pubs and bars. Experienced surf-lovers or beginner water-babies will love staying here as Widemouth Bay and a multitude of other sandy beaches are just a few miles away. There’s so much to explore with National Trust wonders and English Heritage marvels like Rocky Valley and Tintagel Castle littering the coastline just a stones-throw away.
  • Absolutely incredible ... one of the nicest stays I’ve been to and highly recommended. Superb communication from our hosts and very much an immaculate venue to stay. Thank you, we will be returning 😊

  • Just as described! A little slice of heaven that allowed us to escape for a few days

    Jennifer2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Best stay we’ve had in years, will definitely be back.

  • After getting married in August 2018 and no honeymoon without the kids, a break here fully revitalised me and my wife. It was so peaceful, I had loads of things I wanted us to do over the 3 days we were there but after checking in we didn't want to leave other than to get the essentials (gin) and a Sunday roast. Beautiful place and the hosts often checked in on us via email to check if everything was okay

    Mark 2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful and magical spot, such a characterful and well designed space full of quirky touches and interesting artefacts. Very private and exceptionally well put together, we were delighted with our stay and can hopefully come for longer next time!

    Fleur2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Chris and Jan's place. It was cozy, well decorated, and immaculately clean. I would confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend away.

    Christopher2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at Chris and Jan's beautiful retreat during half-term and when Storm Dennis had hit the South West. The storm did not have any negative affect on our stay. We were able to use the hot tub on various occasions throughout our stay and lit the open fire for a warm and cosy evening. The retreat itself is like nothing else I have seen, it is absolutely amazing. It's impressively designed and decorated and is equipped with everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay. It's very clean, warm, quiet, comfortable and the use of Wi-Fi and smart TV meant we could snuggle up in the evening and watch a good movie. The welcome hamper was a great touch too, the items inside we're very tasty! We will definitely be staying here again in the future!

  • Leeside Cottage is a lovely and clean with a homely feel. Kirsty had even made us a cake to welcome us! Depending on your network there is very little signal so it’s a great place to escape from everyday life. The outlook is a lovely garden plus a lake, chickens and three friendly pigs.

    Fiona2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Leeside Cottage. It is in an amazing location with loads of lovely places to visit. It was great service overall from Kirsty suggesting places to visit and homemade brownie waiting when we arrived. It's certainly a place you can go and just switch off for a few days and relax.

    Mary2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely area. The property that we stayed in wasn't done justice by the pictures, it was far better than what we had imagined. The lakes and garden were so lovely, and with pigs and chickens to feed it was actually quite fun just to stay at the property as there's a fair bit to do and being at the lake was very peaceful. When we arrived there were home made brownies awaiting us and we were pretty much left to get on with our day after being shown around which was perfect for us as we explored Devon and Cornwall.any problems and kirsty was just at the end of the phone which was perfect. Great restaurant recommendations from our host too. Would highly recommend staying here and honestly, the pictures just don't do it justice.

    Lewis2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Kirstys place. Perfect location and our little one loved exploring the garden and meeting the pigs & chickens. Would definately stay again.

  • You can’t want for much more when staying at this lovely home. Sue and her husband, Patrick were the most kind and thoughtful hosts and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. The residence is the perfect bolthole to explore all that the area has to offer. In addition, Sue and Patrick‘s knowledge of what to do and where to go is invaluable and helped ensure that we had the very best holiday. They went out of their way to make their home welcoming for our two children who were delighted to help feed their pigs, sheep and hens. The garden is fabulous and a welcome space to relax after a busy day exploring. The delicious home cooked breakfasts with their very own ingredients were amazing. We couldn’t have asked for more and will definitely return.

    Russell2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Both Susan and Patrick were perfect hosts! They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and were so kind, and flexible. The breakfast was a lovely selection of homemade products. Beautiful views, gorgeous garden, and very comfortable beds! We would highly recommend staying at Coachman’s cottage. Many thanks Sophie and Paula

The house fantastic and the morning breakfast they prepare is delicious! We really enjoyed our stay and they were so helpful in providing tips on places to see! Overall a wonderful experience! Thank you for everything.

  • Lovely place to stay! Fantastic garden and living space. Patrick & Susan are fab hosts! They made our kids feel so welcome and took the time out to show us around the animals (which are out of the way at the end of the garden). Breakfast was delicious, best cooked breakfast I’ve had in a long time. We had such a lovely experience as first time Air B&B’ers & can’t wait to return 😊

  • This place is amazing! We came for a long weekend with our 2 young children and it was simply perfect! Toys and books for the children were great and the boys loved collecting the eggs! Spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed and more. Perfect location to explore all the Cornish delights! We would definitely love to return one day. Thank you!

    Michelle2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Ten out of ten! The accommodation is perfect - clean, well thought out and very comfy! Collecting fresh eggs was a highlight of the day, plus the great big garden and wooded areas perfect for exploring : ) Great location near to some beautiful beaches, delicious food and lots of activities for kids (and adults as we enjoyed them probably more so than our son!) Overall a perfect stay. Thank you to Karen and Conrad for being such great hosts... we can’t wait to come back! Lucie, Ross and Indigo x

    Lucie2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Conrad have a truly beautiful place. The whole experience from booking to leaving was very easy and relaxed. The property is exactly as you see in the pictures and both Karen and Conrad are super welcoming and live across the way and available for any questions. The property is a lovely private, spacious space where chickens roam freely. It is perfect for a family and the kids can run about in the big garden. Very kid friendly, there's a trampoline, football and a big box of toys for them; my daughter thought she'd hit the jackpot! Karen and Conrad were also great for arranging extra bits for the kids like cot bumpers, high chairs and travel cot so there was no need to bring any of it with us. We found the location very good, with town not far at all and beautiful, clean beaches within 15 minutes. Also only an hour away from the Eden Project if you fancied driving further afield. We've made some lovely memories here and hope to return one day.

  • Thank you for another lovely stay. Just as restful and fun as we remembered!

    Jenny2017-05-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great holiday home! Awesome beach recommendations and a fantastic time had by adults and children and I would not hesitate to recommend the Red Barn.

    Adrian2016-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic weekend. A beautifully designed barn, equipped really well. Lots of thoughtful touches (like a DAB radio and toys for the kids). The kids loved collecting fresh eggs everyday. Thank you for the loan of boogie boards so our eldest could have his first go in the waves! He lasted 10 minutes (it was cold!) so it was bonus not to have to rent them! Lovely quiet location, with a huge garden, and a short drive into Bude and to some beautiful beaches.

    Jenny2016-05-03T00:00:00Z
  • The red barn is a really special place. Karen made us feel incredibly welcome and did an amazing job with small touches (nightlight for our toddler, unpacking our food delivery!). The decor and space is beautiful and the chickens make the stay for little ones. We enjoyed our evenings infront of the log burner with a glass of wine and the kids enjoyed the chest of toys and running around in the garden. We hope to be back!
