  • Great place to stay. Great for my dog. Clean & tidy. The food & snacks were really well thought out. Thank you for the complimentary bottle of wine. Would definitely recommend staying here.

  • What a lovely and affordable way to enjoy a romantic escape to a vineyard! Such comfortable accommodation, a huge lush bed and all the amenities you need to enjoy yourself out in the country. The breakfast provisions are particularly generous and what better way to enjoy them than sitting out on your private deck staring down rows of vines under a huge sky. Talbot and the surrounding area is rich with culinary adventure, the market was a feast and don’t get me started on the wine..! Go ahead and treat yourself.

  • Debs place was exceptional value for money. The place was private, had everything you needed, and if you run out of wine Neil is happy to pop over with a few top up bottles for a reasonable mates rates price. Our dog had a lot of fun and the verandah has gates on it if you’re worried about your dog wandering off. 10/10 would recommend for a wholesome weekend experience.

    Melissa2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • I had the most wonderful stay at Deb’s place! The view from the balcony is just lovely & there are so many beautiful birds. A most peaceful spot, & make sure to try their wine too- it’s delicious!

    Karen2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice venue with country views. Directions to get there were clear and there was someone there to welcome us.

    Denise2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • As return visitors I can’t express how wonderful this place is. Comfortable, clean and the dogs love the property. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.

    Tracy2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Deb’s place for two nights and really enjoyed our time. You’d need to go there with the right mind set of switching off the electronics and just enjoy your peace and quiet time in a vineyard . It was clean with nice little touches in every corner . She’s done a great job making you feel at home . The bathroom is outside but the access is all covered area. We cooked there on the bbq the whole time and loved the magical sky at night . We’d go back there again .

    Mani2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Deb's place. The cottage faces a beautiful view of a nice vineyard and it was a pleasure strolling around and checking out the grape vines. Amenities were great - lots of food made available for breakfast the next day, and the cottage itself was cozy - my parents kept raving about how comfortable the bed was! Deb was a friendly and helpful host and also prepared some useful local information in the folder. Jack the kelpie x was also a gracious host and showed my dog around the vineyard and kept him company. Everyone (including the dog!) had a good time! I highly recommend Deb's place, and will most certainly be back someday.

Brand new, purpose built accommodation at the foothills of Mount Cole in the heart of the Victorian Pyrenees. Set well away and private from the main house, with open living/kitchen, bedroom and large bathroom. Picturesque views of the valley with a mountain backdrop in the most idyllic and quiet location where you can relax and unwind before touring the Pyrenees or exploring the stunning mountain region. Leave uplifted with a feeling of calmness and rejuvenation. We know you will love it!
This light, bright, sunny modern home has all you need to hide away and enjoy the peaceful surrounds, fresh mountain air and stunning views. Expect to feel overawed with the sights that surround you and get carried away in a magical sense of freedom and peace. Enter in to the open plan kitchen/living, put your feet up and sit back in one of the comfortable recliners while you take in the view from all angles or watch your favourite program on the wall-mounted smart tv. Grab a book and catch up on some reading while you listen to the birds or watch the native animals and resident pet cows outside your yard. The kitchen has a built in electric oven, gas cook top, and sink, with glass splash-back providing another view of the birds and mountain backdrop. There is a fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster, coffee plunger and water purifier. All crockery and cutlery, pots, pans, cooking utensils and glassware are provided to cook for yourself. Local wine and chocolates on arrival. Breakfast ingredients provided for up to 3 day stays and there is tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Please tell us when booking if you have any food allergies. • Margie was the most amazing host I have ever come across, she was thoughtful and very responsive to messages. Did all in her power to make our Valentines weekend getaway special by including all sorts of decorations and romantic touches! She was super friendly and humble. Amazing environment to stay in, with beautiful views all around the property. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is considering going here! Just a perfect experience!

    Melisa2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Margie's place is exactly what you need for a weekend away. The place was clean, light filled and quiet. It's clear that Margie has gone to great efforts to make this place what it is, every detail has been thought about. And absolute pleasure to stay, fantastic view!

    Kate2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing location and stay for those who wish to escape. I suggest booking for more than one night to really get an appreciation of what this place has to offer, but equally it's great for a stopover that offers a fantastic setting and feeling of luxury - the personal touches and offerings really make a difference and went beyond my expectations. Thank you Margie for the extra distance you go to make this a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

    David2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Margie's place was absolutely beautiful inside and out. Amazing views, very clean and tidy with nice personal touches. My partner and I enjoyed our stay and being 'off the grid' for a couple of days. We came home very refreshed and relaxed. A quaint cottage featuring authentic stonework, comfortable rooms and great views, built by the owner: a stone mason. Features a lovely dam to enjoy with a cuppa or glass of wine. Located on the outskirts of Avoca the popular Pyrenees township. Close proximity to town centre featuring the celebrated Avoca Hotel and forms the gateway to many local Pyrenees wineries. Hosts can provide local information. The kitchen is fully equipped to enable you to cook and breakfast ingredients are provided.
Guests are expected to use water wisely as this is a rural property which relies on water collected in tanks on the property. It is also expected that the house will be kept in a tidy manner and treated with respect. Shoes off inside would help with the carpets! We have found it takes a lot more time to prepare both rooms plus providing additional food for two more people. So we have chosen to add $10 per extra person rather than adding a cleaning fee to keep our cottage as affordable as possible.
There are many features of interest and good places to dine in the town.
  • Beautiful beautiful beautiful. Anna and Michael made us feel sooo at home here. Just what the doctor ordered! Such a great place to stay if you're visiting the Pyrenees or the wine country in general. The place is a tad old inside and there is the odd spider but that didn't bother us in the slightest, what do you expect in the country... It's character!!! Fresh bread and multiple food options in the fridge were a dream, they were really unexpected and thoroughly enjoyed! You can walk the property and experience a beautiful sunset too! We'll be back 100%! Thank you!

    Josh2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Anna and Michael's cottage is fabulous, well worth the visit. Really pretty, quiet, comfortable, great breakfast foods and extras provided. The bed and couches are really comfortable, and the setting outside in the porch is just right. Response times to questions were fast, and we were welcomed and shown around in such a friendly manner. Highly recommended.

My family and I stayed here with the in laws and were all very impressed with the above and beyond effort that Deb made to make our stay memorable. We couldn’t have all been more relaxed, our little boy in particular loved being able to spread his wings.

  • Had a lovely stay at the farm house over the weekend. Deb was awesome and so was Beauty the little Shetland pony that greeted us at the gate when we arrived and kept us company throughout the weekend. The house is clean and tidy with a lovely view of the pastures and mountains from the kitchen. The espresso machine was a big plus for us coffee lovers! Lots of DVDs and games/toys for kids. Simple, but nice sunroom with a ping-pong table.

    Johanna2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and delightful authentic farm stay. Thoroughly recommend Deb’s place for a great break away.

  • Katherines place suited our needs perfectly. We were in Beaufort for a wedding, and it was central to town, had plenty of space for all of us (5 adults). The beds were comfortable, the kitchen is really well stocked with enough cookware, crockery etc. As a fellow eco conscious person, I appreciated the separate rubbish. I fully admit i was a bit annoying with locking in the amount of people that were coming, but Katherine was really accommodating of this. Our friends stayed in katherines other property and it was really handy to just slip through the back fence to next door! If we have the need to come to Beaufort again, Will definately consider katherines place.

The Cottage is situated on 50 acres which has been in our family for over 150 years and has frontage to the Pyrenees Highway, and enjoys sunsets over Ranges. It is fully equiped with everything you will need for that special getaway. Bung Bong Hill Cottage has been designed and built by our family as a destination for that special getaway, yet with the privacy and convenience of a home, on land first settled in 1858 by our forebears. Until 2001 the land had been constantly farmed, but is now given over to a small olive grove, and several hundreds of eucalyptus trees have been planted. Many more have regenerated naturally since grazing has ceased. The oil from our hand-picked olives can be purchased. The cottage has been placed within this pleasing aspect. Verandahs, together with decking for outdoor eating, have been added for maximum effect to enjoy the ambience and the views. New and modern furnishings have been added throughout with comfort a first consideration. In winter, enjoy the cosy wood heater (wood supplied) or just turn on the comfort of the split system air conditioners. • This house was a fantastic place to stay in a gorgeous location. It is beautiful and secluded and the house is actually much nicer than the photos! It has everything you could need including a full kitchen with every utensil, pot and accessory you can imagine. It’s truly a home away from home and was both comfortable and sparkling clean. John is great a responding to messages and is a very pleasant, helpful and friendly host. Will definitely be returning to this place!

  • Great quirky recycled house. Plenty of space for big groups. Close to the main street

    Samantha2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I booked Katherine’s place for my parents and they said: The recyclable house is a very well appointed property close to the centre of Beaufort - and such an interesting dwelling to stay in. We were intrigued by the diverse use of so much recycled material. Various hardwoods, compressed cement sheet, galvanised iron bath and shower. Interesting features such as magnetic closures on doors and windows ( no handles). Toys, wonderful books and games were all in abundance. The design of the building made it efficient and therefore very comfortable. Sails on the back deck, which overlooked the garden with espaliered fruit trees, herbs and perennials, gave protection from the afternoon sun. A lovely spot to sit for an evening drink. Perfect really for any time of the day. Beaufort is also a good town to stay in within easy reach of the Pyrenees and Great Western wineries. Avoca hotel, about half hour drive, has exceptional pub food. Katherine is a fabulous host and made certain that we had a great stay. We hope to go back again to enjoy the property and the area.

  • Fantastic unique property. Katherine is a fabulous host

    Lauren2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay! The property was more than we could have hoped for in terms of design and comfort. This is a must see property if you are in the area or looking for a great few days away. Katherine was a very hospitable host - organising an easy check-in and communicating clearly with us with anything that was needed. We hope to return soon!

    Katie2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very stylish and clean. Katherine was easy to contact and quick to respond. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay 😊

    Sarah2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Katherine's home really has everything you need! It was a cosy place for our extended family to stay together in and there were so many activities and toys to keep the kids entertained all day, which was greatly appreciated. It's such a beautiful, unique house and that bath tub is incredible. Thank you for a lovely place to stay Katherine.

    Simone2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • The house was fantastic for what we needed for the weekend. The house stayed really warm, despite the cold temperature outside. The bed was super comfy with a warm, fluffy doona. Katherine was a beautiful host and showed me around the house when I arrived and had the fire going so the house was warm for us. I liked having the keyless entry on the front door too. If I were to stay in Beaufort again, I'd definitely stay there.

Situated in the Pyrenees shire, Baronga is a quiet country getaway nestled between the Pyrenees wine region and historic Ballarat goldfields. Enjoy the birds that flock to Wendy's garden as well as fresh fruits and vegetables left behind by the resident blue tongue lizard. Whether you are new to Australia or have lived here your whole life and have never experienced the rural lifestyle, take the opportunity to come and stay on a working farm and enjoy the space and serenity of Baronga Farm House
This 100+ year old farmhouse (and schoolhouse in another life) is great for couples and families wanting to spend time together. Baronga is quite a way from the nearest store so to make the most of your stay, we recommend you bring your food, wine and other supplies with you and kick back in Wendy's garden, inside by the fire or around the outside fire pit.
Baronga is close to Waubra town where you can catch a weekend game of footy and netball or visit the first winery of your stay at Quoin Hill http://www.quoinhill.com.au/ Or nearby Ballarat http://www.visitballarat.com.au/ Or explore the ruggedly beautiful surrounds of the Pyranees wine region http://pyrenees.org.au/
  • A lovely old farmhouse in a beautiful, calm location. Friendly sheep were loved by the kids, nearly as much as the fun and imaginative fairy garden! Renovated bathroom great, and lovely fresh flowers and herbs everywhere. Would warmly recommend.

    Anjali2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Debbie's place is a spectacular little hide away. The garden was a treat. The nearby hills and wind farm were amazing to see. The children enjoyed feeding the sheep and running around the garden. The central fireplace did an excellent job at keeping us warm.

  • A lovely farm house in the middle of nowhere... precisely what we were after. Fantastic outdoor areas for our 4 year old. We had a truly relaxing getaway and hope to be back one day!

  • Great clean house out in the countryside. You really feel like you are getting away from it all. The house is as described but with a new bathroom (shower) which is very lux and was a nice surprise for us! Good for a stay for Ballarat, clunes or creswick area as all about a 25 min drive. Sheep and garden are terrific. Thanks

Welcome to Grayling’s Gift, your relaxation journey starts here. A humble red brick church built in 1875 on land generously donated to the community by William Grayling, a descendant of one of the first pioneering families of the Shire, continues to offer all those that enter her doors a haven of rest and peace.
As the current custodians, we continue Grayling’s spirit of generosity by sharing this charming place. We have carefully transformed this historic building with our own hands using salvaged materials. Careful not to remove the rich history and integrity we have consciously retained many of the imperfections gathered from her 145 years. For us, these are the lines in her story, beautiful reminders of the memories created within these walls. With the city at your back and the stunning granite hills of the Pyrenees Wine region ahead of you, leave the stresses of life behind you as you gently close the doors of Grayling’s and like many guests before you, don’t open them again until you depart. Grayling’s Gift has been carefully curated to enable you to retreat and unwind in luxury and comfort, consciously designed as a sanctuary for rest, immersion and reflection. Every care has been taken to provide the elements necessary for you to enjoy a restful stay. Allow the mesmerising flicker of flames from wood heater to ease you into a state of relaxation. A selection of gorgeous interior books, thought-provoking reading, yoga mats and a selection of cards and games are provided to enhance your relaxation experience from the comfort of the chesterfield lounge and vintage armchairs. We invite you to luxuriate in the vintage galvanized bathtub perfectly scented with our custom designed bath salts while you enjoy the additional warmth from the original bathroom fireplace. The king size bed take centre stage at Grayling’s, as we all know the restorative benefits of sleep are paramount to our wellbeing. The bed is fitted with premium quality linen bed coverings to provide a luxurious and restful night’s sleep under the magnificent original stained glass windows. Our compact kitchen has all you need to prepare simple, nourishing meals. We provide complimentary ingredients for you to prepare a hearty breakfast and our pantry is stocked with a small selection of quality ingredients to enable you to prepare a simple pasta meal if you arrive unprepared. For later in the evening when the munchies strike the Honour bar is stocked with a small selection of alcohol and some lovely snacks. Ballarat is an easy detour coming from Melbourne to stock up on provisions for your stay as there is not a grocery store in Lexton. We encourage our guests to disconnect during their stay and enjoy the benefits of a taking a break from in order to reconnect with themselves, their loved one and the unique environment of Grayling’s Gift. Lexton does not have a reliable mobile signal and although we offer internet it is often slow unreliable. Grayling's Gift is not suitable for children or pets due to the delicate nature of its furnishings. Our bathroom features a bathtub with an overhead shower which unfortunately may not suit guests with mobility issues.
There are many wonderful towns and experiences all within easy reach of the Lexton, the aptly named “crossroads” town. Ballarat with all its history and charm, The Pyrenees Wine region, the Grampians, Macedon Ranges & Daylesford shire are all a comfortable drive from your base in Lexton. Upon booking, you will be sent our curated Visitor Guide to assist you with planning your stay and we are available (and love) to assist with arranging a more personalised itinerary. Just ask!

  • Penny had been a fantastic host. Her attention to details is very strong and the way she makes sure her guests have a great time, is just amazing. My 7 year old had a fantastic time, both indoors and outdoors. The horses, the sheep and the goats are super friendly and gentle, and I was so pleased to see my daughter forget about gadgets for some days, at least. Directions: Make sure you follow the directions given by Penny. I chose to rely on my latest TomTom GPS and it took me to a spot around 200-300 mts, away from her place. So, better use google map (on satellite map mode) and try to spot a red roofed house, when you get closer, or best, simply follow her written instructions. Internet: No wifi and cellphone reception (Vodafone) is not great. You will get 3G speed. But believe me, you will be happy to stay away from your gadgets.. there are so many other things to do at her place. Spend time with Alpacas: I would highly recommend to take kids to the Alpaca farm. Penny has the details. (some 25 minutes drive from there) Would definitely visit again!

  • Penny’s Place was a wonderful place to stay. It was modern, sparkling clean and comfortable and we appreciated the staples in the pantry and fridge as well as a washing machine for our week-stay. The location was so peaceful and we loved coming back every day to see the horses and goats before enjoying a local wine in the outdoor area while the sun was setting. Penny was easy to communicate with and had plenty of local tips for the area.

  • Liza’s place is a totally rustic experience. The cosy fire and the great deck that looks out across the paddocks of her sheep are our favourite parts. We only had a short stay for one night, but the cottage had everything we needed, including some beautiful freshly laid eggs from Liza’s chooks that we cooked for breakfast. Liza was a lovely host who met us in the morning so that our toddler could meet her sheep and chooks for feeding time. A lovely experience, thanks Liza!

Our 3 bedroom house is set on an elevated 7 acres allowing amazing sunset views from the wrap around veranda. The house is recently renovated and has all the facilities that will allow you to come away and rest and rejuvenate in the peace and quiet. Ample parking for 6 cars, an outdoor fire pit plus a wood fire for your enjoyment.
The pyrenees is littered with fantastic wineries. For those that love bushwalking, Mt Cole is a 20 minute drive and has the 20km Beeripmo walk. We highly recommend this walk followed by some drinks on the veranda to watch the beautiful sunsets. The house has a fantastic SMEG oven with induction cook top if cooking is your thing. There are often local farmers markets in the surrounding towns such as Avoca to get your supplies.
  • Great place, great hosts to deal with.

  • Stunning retreat in a quiet and relaxing location, close enough to civilization but far enough away to enjoy your own space. Very stylish house with everything you'd need. We spent a weekend away here with six in the house sleeping very comfortably. Full cooking amenities made this place feel just like home. Highly recommend.

  • Absolutely beautiful property! Massive rooms and very close to town. The beds are comfortable, big kitchen and dining and a deck the wraps around a whole the whole house. A bridal party stayed and there was more than enough room for getting ready and enjoying ourselves. Thank you so much for having us!

  • Gabs place was wonderful, the house was very clean and the verandah was just lovely. Lots of communication from Gab. The booking was made for my father and his friend for a veterans golfing tournament. I was well informed about everything and I knew they were safe. 😊 thank you Gab

A large, family friendly, country home - perfect for large or small groups. Bet Bet Creek Homestead is a beautiful mud brick house set on the banks of the Bet Bet Creek half way between the rural towns of Maryborough and Avoca. With four bedrooms, and two living areas, the house can comfortably sleep 8 people (more by arrangement). There is a large outdoor area, with a wood fired BBQ, lounge and dining table. Don't miss the sensational sunset over the front paddock or a walk along the creek.
With a comfortable lounge with wood fired heater, separate dining area, and well appointed kitchen with fantastic wooden workbench, you'll never want to leave! There's a pool table and separate lounge area for entertaining.
Wareek is situated 13 kms from the large rural town of Maryborough or 18 kms from Avoca and the Pyrenees Wine Region. Wareek is a quiet, peaceful and friendly hamlet. Head to Talbot market for one of the biggest and best farmers markets in Australia.
  • We had a fantastic stay at Paul’s place. The house is huge and even better than the photos. Whilst there was only two of us, the place could easily accommodate a few couples. There was plenty of entertainment, from the pool table to board games or relaxing in the hammock to the sounds of the birds. The bed was very comfy, water was hot and kitchen facilities excellent. Definitely amazing value for money! The place is really clean as well. Our dog loved the place too and the secured back yard! Thanks Paul- hope to return again someday.

    Kate2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place away from it all so that the only sounds are of nature. Heaps of room and lots of things to do like playing pool so there is all the entertainment and space you need.

Eildon Springs is a small prime-lamb farm at the base of Mount Bolton, twenty minutes from Ballarat. The Victorian homestead has been fully renovated in recent times and is comfortable. There are pleasant, sometimes demanding, walks nearby and Ballarat offers a wide range of wonderful activities for the visitor. We are inclusive and welcoming and ask only of our guests that they understand they are staying in our home.
The views are pleasant and the house comfortable - a good place to relax but not, perhaps, for riotous living. Children are welcome but must be at all times under the management of parents: farms are dangerous places and we have a lake - suitable for swimming from a beach - about 150 metres from the house. Your friendly dog will also be welcome but please note the garden is fenced but not secure. Guests will understand that sheep may not be worried by dogs - or anyone else!
Waubra is about fifteen minutes along the Sunraysia Highway from the Western Highway at Ballarat. It is also near towns such as Creswick, Clunes and Avoca - all of which have interesting tourist features and a variety of places to eat.
  • The photos just don't do it justice, the property was even better than expected! We were just disappointed we couldn't stay longer! Andrew and Carol were both lovely and their home was stunning and filled with interesting history. Walking around the grounds was a treat, the willow trees and hills were wonderful to wake up to. Carol made us all breakfast, including some of her homemade jam! Thank you again, we would love to visit again soon.

    Kristina2019-06-10T00:00:00Z
  • Eildon Springs is a gorgeous farming property nestled into the shoulder of Mt Bolton in Waubra. Hosts Andrew and Carol are generous and welcoming and will ensure your stay in this beautiful part of the world is a relaxed and memorable one. As a family with school-age kids this is the perfect kind of accommodation for us with lots of space and the opportunity to share the company of the property owners. Andrew and Carol can assist with knowledge and suggestions on local attractions. Andrew even connected me via a friend with the local fly-fishing club for future fishing visits to the area. I would thoroughly recommend the experience and look forward to returning again.

    Rick2019-06-09T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Carol are lovely, very warm and welcoming. The house is very beautiful and stylish, both bedrooms and bathroom were sparkling clean. Delicious breakfast, great conversations and 2 very sweet and gentle dogs. I can highly recommend this Airbnb and would definitely come again. Thanks a lot!

    Celina2019-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Andrew and Carol for having us at your beautiful home in such a lovely peaceful location. Wonderful hospitality and invigorating conversations. All facilities were impeccable.

    Amanda2018-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful 30acre sheep farm, very quite and absolutely stunning home with the perfect hosts!

    Sheree2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Andrew and Carol were incredibly welcoming and hospitable in their amazing house. It was warm, comfortable and clean. Suits couples or families. We only stayed one night but could have easily stayed for longer.

    Andrew2018-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • First of all, I must emphasize that I was greeted warmly both in pre-arrival, when communicating with Andrew and Carol online, as well as on arrival. Talking about the facilities - the room was large, clean and comfortable. The other two rooms available, which I didn't use, are also like this although the twin room is smaller. One of them even has its own TV set! In addition to my own room, I was offered private use of one of the sitting rooms in the house, although I actually chose to spend time with Andrew and Carol, who are warm and welcoming. We enjoyed many conversations. This is a true bed and and breakfast of the traditional type - the hosts sharing their house and providing accommodation and breakfast. If I had wanted to do this, I could have used the very good BBQ facilities. Instead I chose to explore Ballarat and found many interesting places to eat, for example the Forge, Grill'd Ballarat, Meigas ( Spanish bar-restaurant), Zambrero Ballarat, etc. Ballarat has many interesting things to do including Sovereign Hill, Wildlife Park and Fine Art Gallery and its fine concert and music tradition including the Organs of the Ballarat Goldfield Festival and the Four Seasons Music Festival. Andrew and Carol's house is a great base from which to explore all this and more. I shall come back for that as this time I was just passing through. The property and house garden are beautiful places in which I wandered. There are more extensive walks available such as the road up Mount Bolton. All in all, this is a beautiful, stylish and comfortable house which would suit people who like these things and I certainly enjoyed my stay - and will return.

Period mud brick cottage originally built sometime before or around 1900 with family history stretching back five generations and the gold rush. It is set on a property of nearly 30 acres with abundant wildlife and scenery. It is located approximately 5-6 kms from the township of Avoca Victoria and it is within walking distance of a couple of local wineries and the Percydale historic area.
The cottage has one dedicated bedroom with a double bed and 2 sofa beds (double) - one in the lounge room and one in the dining room
  • Great little cottage right near a couple of wineries. Had a great stay with our 2 toddlers.

    Byron2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a quiet place and scenic area to 'get away' from the city, lovely walking nearby, wineries close and house is charming and rustic and well-equipped.

  • A lovely cottage with a lot of history. Our daughter loved looking for the sheep as they moved between paddocks and we saw many kangaroos at night. We were cosy with the fire going. Thank you!

  • A lovely, practical home with character. A serene property overlooking field of sheep and a mountain range. An enclosed yard perfect for small children. My kids and I loved our stay and highly recommend the property.

  • Lovely, welcoming, historical mud-brick home with thoughtful touches on a beautiful sheep farm with serene views. Would thoroughly recommend it. Two wineries up the road and plenty to explore in the area. Nearby Avoca has a great pie shop with an interesting range of pies, from emu to crocodile, and great ice cream too.

Nestled on 4 acres this pretty cottage is a short drive to the Skipton Rail Trail, Lake Burrumbeet, Ballarat, and Mt.Cole National Park. The cottage has beautiful views and is cosy and comfortable inside. Relax by the fire or on the verandah. Enjoy the kookaburras and wrens who visit often.
The Cottage has been a place of Retreat for many years and is in a very peaceful setting, surrounded by gardens and bush. This area has been great for our family as it is a short commute to Ballarat with its beautiful Lake, gardens and tourist attractions. The cottage is a good base for touring the delights of the Goldfield region and Pyrenees Wineries and perfect also for quiet getaways. We offer simple country hospitality. We have a stable and paddock available for horses if needed.
Carngham is a small rural hamlet composed of Hobby farmers, horse lovers and sheep/cattle /crop farming. It is close enough to Ballarat ( a main regional town) and yet far enough away to be quiet and beautiful with its bush, rolling hills and peaceful country environment. The air is fresh and the water is pure. Wildlife abounds in Carngham with many bird species including kookaburras, parrots & wrens, plus there are kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas and bush animals living naturally in the bush. Carngham Road is the main road off which are many smaller and often unsealed roads and country lanes. The little town of Snake Valley is nearby which has its own General Store /Post Office and Hotel where a country pub meal can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner. As Carngham is away from city lights, on a clear night it is the perfect place to view the stars of the Southern Hemisphere.
  • We had a lovely stay. We wanted a place to get away from the city and slow down and this was perfect. The house was spotlessly clean and Maree had left so many lovely little touches for us, the breakfast was great including the lovely fresh eggs from her chooks. Our kids have already asked when we can go back to stay again.

You’ll love my place because of The location is unique - a country rustic wool shed, we are 45 minutes to either Ballarat or Ararat and about 1 hour to the Grampians. Surrounded by beautiful gums we have lots of lovely birds. We are on 8 acres of land in the Pryenees Shire heart of the wine region. Our hobby farm, we have 12 sheep, 3 small dogs kept in the house whilst we have visitors. People love the real country charm experience and all the little details around the property.
A rustic country shed that has been retro fitted for an authentic country experience. It was a working shearing shed until 2 years ago. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, cooktop, charcoal BBQ. Vintage Plates & Cutlery, Bed linen and towels. Great view from LOO, over the beautiful Mt Cole. The price is established for a total of 2 guests, however if there is more than just a couple please email us to advise date and number for people and we will provide you with a price. Its lovely and private
If you do not wish to cook your own breakfast a great breakfast place in Beaufort is Sparrows - in the old Beaufort Garage building...great home cooked bread. The Golden Age pub is the only place open in the evenings for meals after 5pm
  • Thanks Liza — we loved our stay at Raglan! We really liked the rustic feel of the place, the old TVs and the pool table. We look forward to staying with you again. Luke and Karli

    Luke2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place to unwind and catch up some family, great spot to stay if you are heading to the ghost tour in Ararat also, we will be back for sure.

    Emma2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • A comfortable stay, and nice to be somewhere a bit different, in a peaceful spot waking up to the sounds of the birds. Liza was a very helpful host, and the accommodation was fitted out with everything we needed. The electric blankets came in handy on the first night, which was cooler than we expected, and it was lovely to have the pot belly fire to take the edge off too. The location was a perfect base for our planned bushwalks in nearby Langi Ghiran and My Buangor state parks.

    Rosey2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Just enjoyed the most relaxing long weekend at Liza’s place. The barn is rustic but fitted out beautifully with all the comforts of home with lots of country charm and wonderful touches (the fire wood and fresh eggs were life savers). The stars at night are out of this world, and we loved drinking our morning coffee with the sheep. The perfect weekend getaway for anyone wanting to escape the city - either hang out in the barn or head into Grampions National Park or any of the other great close by destinations. Liza was the perfect host. Very communicative via msg, and there if you need her, but also gave us lots of space to just chill out and reconnect. Can’t recommend it enough!

    Mahalia2018-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Liza has such an awesome and beautiful place! Liza left us to ourselves and made the space very welcoming. Liza warns you about how cold it can get, but make sure to bring extra layers as I didn’t fully believe her until I was there!

    Hannah2018-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Liza was amazing! The fire was going and the room cozy for arrival. The nearest town Beaufort is only 5mins away and has an IGA, pub, bakery, cafes etc. We made the most of the surrounding countryside, and took 2 trips to the Grampians in 2 days! Halls Gap is only 45mins away. The accommodation is exactly what it says - its rustic, but has lovely charm and is cozy and warm with a good fire going. The farm is home to sheep, chickens, ducks and kangaroos. A great stay for a romantic weekend away, but the shed could easy sleep 5 people without being cramped. Has all the amenities- shower, bath, stove, microwave, fridge, TV etc. All in all, a great stay, we will be back and would definitely recommend!

  • Beautiful beautiful house with everything you need and more. We stayed here after a day hiking in the Grampians, as it was a good stop on the way back towards Melbourne. One of the cleanest and nicest Airbnb’s we’ve stayed in with great breakfast food. We enjoyed the winery up the road, games/toys and the nice big bathtub for our son. Comfortable beds as well which is not always the case! Would definitely stay again if we had the chance.

The fire was going for us upon arrival, which we already appreciated. The cottage was sparkling clean and the bed super comfy. Real coffee and fresh milk an added bonus. This place had the added benefit of all linen being provided as well as items for a continental breakfast. Suited our family of four perfectly. Only downfall is lack of options for dinner. Even in the closest town of Avoca a number of places were closed on Mondays and Tuesdays so it pays to do some research ahead of time.

  • Summerfield Lodge is simply fantastic. A beautiful heritage home that is well-appointed inside, and renovated in the kitchen and bathroom. It was so cute and cosy, we didn't want to leave.

Relax on the property or use it as a base for bush walking in the nearby Mount Cole State forest or visiting the Pyrenees wineries. Abundant wildlife including wallabies, echidnas and a wide assortment of birdlife. We are 14 km from Beaufort.
Rustic cottage built from local hardwood timber planks. Lovely baltic pine interiors and the very popular open fire place in the cooler months. Self cater kitchen including gas stove and microwave. All linen supplied. Minimum two night stay.
  • This place is amazing. I have already booked again for the next weekend and I just stayed last weekend. This is the first time in my extensive AirBnB history (which is extensive) of booking immediately again because I loved a place so much. Its beautiful, comfortable, little touches that I was pleasantly surprised by, and the host is really accommodating. The surroundings are beautiful. I would live here if I could. Super clean, super pretty, my friends all want the details now after I posted pictures and raved. Its really lovely. Cannot recommend enough.

  • The 'Original Cottage' is a very clean and comfortable cottage set in a beautiful, peaceful and private setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. All that we needed was provided and the extra little touches e.g. flowers and fresh herbs, added to our enjoyment. Kookaburras and other wildlife were abundant and the cottage is close to walking tracks in and around Mt Cole National Park. We will be going back.

  • A charming two storey cabin in the woods, well away from the rat race but with all mod cons. No wifi, but good phone reception. It's an invitation to unplug! Surrounded by open eucalypt forest, you should sit patiently on the verandah and wait for the birds and other wildlife to appear. They will eventually. Wallabies, kangaroo, echidna, stumpy-tailed lizard and a list of 30 bush birds. Get to know the birds as you watch them interact, especially at the bird bath when it's hot. Honeyeaters, thornbills, tree creepers, wrens, choughs, woodswallows, kookaburra, to name a few. Or wander down by the small dams, where you may be lucky enough to see the kingfisher make off with its dinner. We stayed during the recent four day heat wave, and it was still excellent. We're looking forward to revisting this charming spot in another season. Thanks Greg for providing such a haven for nature and nature lovers. Lyn & John.

  • Stayed with Greg for two nights and we had a lovely time, felt relaxed after our stay. Greg was extremely accommodating and we especially enjoyed wondering around the property that he has put a lot of work into. Spotted a couple of wallabies around at dusk and dawn, and the night sky was lovely from this getaway in the woods. Will be sure to stay here again if we want to spend time in this area.

I would like to think this is a home away from home. It's a very peaceful spot where you can feel one with nature. It is set in the middle of a farming community with spectacular views of rolling hills and the sounds of birds and occasional sheep. The warm mid morning sun lulls into a sense of calm and takes you far away from everyday hustle and bustle.
We are set on 6.9 acres divided into the house plot with a paddock behind which contains a dam. To the right of the cottage there is also another paddock which leads down to a creek at the bottom. We also have two sheep and two Alpacas named Daisy, Little Tommo, (big sheep, small sheep respectively) and Martha(white Alpaca) , Betsy(black & white Alpaca). You are welcome to go for a walk around the property, however please ensure you close any gates behind you as they need to stay confined to the paddock. Please enter the paddocks via the gates next to the Victorian house.
Our place is fairly secluded and it is rare to see anyone, even in the adjoining properties, however, we are only 10 mins drive from the next town heading away from Ballarat, called Skipton. There is a local IGA to pick up everyday essentials. There is also Linton which is a small town 10 mins going back t Ballarat, it has a pub for meals and is a town full of history, just nice to have a walk through and have a refreshment. The cottage adjoins farming land to the west and bush to the north. We are located on the 'Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail' so for people who love bush walking or bike riding this is a wonderful place to explore the Australian Country Side along the rail trail. Much flora and wildlife can be observed along the length of this pretty track. We are 30 mins drive from the bustling town of Ballarat where there are many historical sights to visit. Further past Skipton is the Grampians which is an hour away.
  • Thish's cottage is a gem in country Vic. Peaceful paddocks surround the place and very quiet for a comfortable night sleep. You can enjoy watching the sunset over the estate or feed the resident pets: horse, sheep and alpacas. The cottage is well equipped and stocked with utensils and condiments for cooking. Comfortable beds and living spaces. Thanks Trish for the hospitality. Looking forward to returning again.

  • Great communication from Tricia, easy to find everything, the animals were my favourite part though!

    Evelyn2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Tricia’s cottage for 2 months and love love loved it! So tranquil and a very stylish space. The sweet animals were my favourite part. A true country living experience. Trish is a wonderful host and her family are all very lovely souls as well.

  • Trish's place is a charming cottage set in lovely, tranquil surroundings in the country. The cottage is incredibly well-provisioned which was useful as we cooked up a storm both evenings. We loved feeding the resident horse, Amber, with carrots and hanging out with the cat who comes to visit (mainly at meal times!). The cottage is also well located near a supermarket in Skipton (10 mins drive) and within 45 minutes of Ballarat.

    Aaron2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a little gold mind, the views will take your breath away, amazing bird life, the house was also comforting.. so many things to do around the area.. thank you to the amazing hospitality of Trish and the family..

    Tania2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Such a relaxing getaway from the city. Such a calming atmosphere with beautiful mornings to wake up to. The animals add so much to the experience. We will definitely be back, for those willing to travel, definitely check out the Grampians, especially McKenzie falls. Other places to travel to are Soverign hill and the Ballarat wild life park. Trish was amazing.

  • Hoyles Creek Cottage Retreat is a wonderful place to stay and is truly a home away from home. I had the pleasure of staying for six weeks and found the cottage to have the amenities of home and was very comfortable. Set overlooking the rolling hills, it is a relaxing place to stay. The cottage is tastefully decorated, and has a full kitchen so you can be self-sufficient. The town of Skipton is a short ten minute drive and has a well-stocked supermarket. If you are looking for somewhere you can relax and unwind, I highly recommend staying at Hoyle Creek Cottage.

  • Great little space in the heart of Avoca - beautiful little touches such as the breakfast loved our stay

Laura's house is set on an acre and a half. The Kitchen has a gas stove and dishwasher. There is a wood fire for the winter and evaporative air conditioning is ducted into all the bedrooms and living areas for summer. Shops on the High street are only a 5 min walk away. We are in the Pyrenees ranges with many vineyards including Taltarni, Blue Pyrenees and Mount Avoca. Im happy to accommodate people who need a place for several weeks or months for work we can talk about a price.
The house has 2 bedrooms at each end of the house. Each set of bedrooms has a bathroom and toilet. The B & B (Laura's house rooms 1 and 2) is setup with Kitchen, adjacent small family room with wall mounted TV and dining room. There is also a 3rd room available but I reserve it for short term bookings or when I have to move people around. My daughter and I live down the other end of the house and the kitchen is shared although Laura and I are respectful of peoples privacy. There is a wood fire heater at each end of the house and ducted air-conditioning in all rooms.
Avoca is a town of 1000 people, it has all the amenities you need from a town including a supermarket, petrol station, play ground, chemist, doctor, coffee shops, milkbar (which also sells petrol), takeaway food, 2 pubs (the "Avoca" has won several awards for their food). 2 Motels, several antique and 2nd hand shops. The Avoca river plays host to a market once a month. Avoca's main street is wide with lots of parking in the middle and one of the car parks is turned into a piste several times a year to host petanque competitions. The main street is also the location of its iconic war memorial.

recently renovated and situated just minutes away from the centre of town this very clean 2 bedroom house is ideal for those who require an entire house to stay in.
  • Marlyne’s place is incredibly clean, has a very effective heater, a beautiful big kitchen and very comfy beds. My parents and I were very comfortable here.

    Eloise2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed staying at Marlyn’s countryside house for one night. Both the inside and outside spaces are quite big, the kitchen is good, fully furnished. There is a massive barbecue that we unfortunately couldn’t use due to the cold weather. Even though we switched the central AC/Heater on, it remains difficult to warm up the whole house including bedrooms. The included breakfast was AMAZING, everything you can expect from it was available. The town is quite and peaceful. Thanks a lot Marlyn !
