Places to stay in Pumsaint
Comfortable and spacious heritage cottage (3 bedrooms - double, twin and single) in own grounds on banks of the River Cothi on edge of Brecon Beacons in Wales. Pretty location. Part of the centuries old Edwinsford Estate. Good for the soul and ideal for walking, fishing, cycling or simply chill out holidays. Fully equipped.
The Dairy House offers a unique experience - modern amenities in an historic setting. The house is ideally situated for touring throughout Wales or, if you prefer, for simply staying put and chilling out. Truly stress busting !
  • We were on the hunt for a quiet place to unwind and relax over the new year period and the Dairy House exceeded our expectations! The house is spacious, clean, surrounded by beauty and packed with history. Robert was a fantastic host and showed us around when we arrived, which was a great touch and very much appreciated (as were the tray of treats!). We have returned feeling genuinely relaxed and our dog seemed very disappointed when he realised we weren’t staying forever! I’d be very happy to come back again - thanks for having us.

  • The Dairy House is a delightful place to stay. The house is spacious and characterful and set in a charming rural location with the River Cothi running through its grounds. It is the ideal place to have a relaxing holiday.

  • This is a treasure!! Stunning location, fantastically equipped, brilliant garden with access to the beautiful River Cothi with Little Grebes, Dippers and Kingfishers. Wonderful accommodation and extremely responsive host. All added up to a brilliant holiday with some of the best local food both at home and in the pubs and restaurants of the area.

  • The Dairy house is like a little paradise for those who seek for some rest and a dive in Welsh nature and culture. Internet not available all the time made our kids aware that's something you can do without or makes you do other things. The house is very well equipped, complete and has a wonderful spacious garden. A special place!

    Henny2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a delightful house. We enjoyed the peaceful river (skimming stones, paddling, birdwatching) and the lovely garden. The house is comfy and has lots of space - it feels homely and we enjoyed incredible castles, walks and a fascinating NT gold mine nearby. We took our ow blow up canoe and enjoyed the river. We are a family of 5 inc 3 boys aged 16, 13 and 11. We all thoroughly recommend this house. Thank you Robert.

Longbarn Cottage One is a barn conversion with exposed beams on our smallholding. In a quiet location in the Carmarthenshire countryside. It is one of two cottages converted from our former stables. The other cottage, Longbarn Dairy End, is also available on Airbnb, it sleeps four people in one double and one twin bedroom. Please note we charge one price all year, with no extra charges for cleaning or heating.
A great place for a relaxing break away from it all. We are about 40 minutes from the Breacon Beacons National Park. The nearest seaside places are the colourful harbour town Aberaeron, Newquay famed for its dolphins and Aberystwyth. The market town of Carmarthen is about one hour away. Lampeter, Llandelio and Llandovery are the nearest towns. Pumsaint village has a pub and a goldmine both open to visiters! Lots of nice walks and biking with in easy distance. Birdwatch from the balcony while enjoying the peace and quiet. Usual farmyard noises, sheep, tractors etc to be expected!
The cottage is surrounded by open countryside. The fields are usually home to sheep, and lambs in season. They wander onto and sometimes sleep on the track so you will need to be aware of them when using the track. If you like bird watching there are plenty to see from red kites to robins! Bring your binos. We also have lots of wildflowers, spring is the best hundreds of primroses and bluebells. Lots of daffodils too! Not wild flowers I know but from mid March onwards Wales is daff heaven! Star watching is recommended. On a clear night, turn off the lights and sit on the balcony to enjoy the night sky. Put the Night Sky ap on your phone or tablet to help you identify the stars and planets. We live across the farmyard from the cottage, our nearest neighbours are half a mile away down the track. Lots of guests have asked us where they can eat around here the nearest places are:- Dolaucothi Arms, Pumsaint SA19 8UW Brunant Arms, Caio SA19 8RD Tafarn Jem, SA48 8HF on the A482 towards Lampeter.
  • Had a fantastic stay, wished we could of stayed longer, stylish and cosy and lovely peaceful location! Thank you Gillian and Mick

  • Perfect cosy cottage. Exactly what we were looking for for our New Years stay. Photos of the place does not do it justice, soo much cuter in person. Very clean and spacious. Would highly recommend this place.

  • Lovely get away in peaceful quiet rural location -, with thoughtful touches top make your stay fun and special

    Jo2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Gillian's place is a clean, warm and comfortable converted barn. It is across the yard from their home on their farm, up a rough farm track. There is a huge bathroom, comfy bed and everything you need to cook a meal from scratch. A beautiful quiet place, but you will need to use a car to get to the shops.

    Hannie2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this sensational barn! It really does have the wow factor!!!! The character and elegance really does deserve a 10 star rating and the host was more than amazing with the special touches and overly accurate customer service as such!!!! Huge appreciation.

  • We can't say anything more than anyone else has already written, it was better than we hoped it would be, even the rain didn't dampen our spirits and we didn't want to leave the cottage Thanks very much

    Kris2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage in a great location. The hosts were very friendly and responsive. We loved our stay in the cottage and will definitely be back again when visiting family in the local area.

Large room in lovely stone cottage nestled in the hills of Llanwrda, 1 mile from Dolaucothi Gold Mines. Only 15 minute drive to Lampeter and 40 mins drive to the beautiful beaches of Cardigan. The room has two bunk beds, so can accommodate up to four people at one time with shared bathroom, shared kitchen and shared living room with TV. This is not a dorm, once booked extra people will not be added. Plenty of parking space.
There are stunning views to look at from the house, and an impressive viewing platform to do just that, on a clear day you will see the Black mountains and the Brecon Beacons in the distance. There are fields, woodlands, lakes, you are lightly to see sheep, cows, hares, herons, hunting birds patrolling the sky and you are lightly to hear owls at night.
The house is on a quiet lane, in the middle of the country away from noise and traffic with stunning views, there are walks by lakes, rivers, woodland, or hill top walks (bring some good boots), also there is fishing (Spring Water Lakes, and Cothi river near by). Lampeter is only a 15 minute drive, with places to eat, walks by the river Teifi, shops, super market, leisure centre, gardening centre and a university to visit.
  • We had a good time at Richard's place. It's location is fantastic, if you want to have some relaxing time in solitude and silence with a fantastic view on the valley, it is definitely a place to stay. Richard is a nice person, easy to talk to but giving you your privacy, and our only regret was that we couldn't spend more time in such a beautiful and peaceful environment.

    Gergely2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, a magical garden with beautiful far reaching views. Richard is a quiet, friendly host who made us feel very welcome in his home, and was very generous sharing the use of his kitchen.

    Jess2019-09-06T00:00:00Z
  • A hidden gem! If you are looking for a holiday where the only traffic you will see is the sheep crossing the fields, then this is the place for you. The view is simply amazing. The garden is bigger than I expected. The room with two clean bunkbeds and two comfy armchairs plus a log brunner is enough for a family. We ate in the tranquilly garden at one of the picnic tables but there is also a dining area. The shower is perfect, no tube. Kitchen is basic (vegetarian) but you can use everything included fridge. Richard is a very patient and flexible host. Despite just a few kilometres from next village this cottage on a hilltop is in the middle of nowhere. We all loved his property.

    Kata2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Richard is an amazingly friendly and helpful host, the location of this house is spectacular and it was so calm and peaceful; just what I was looking for. A paradise for nature lovers!

    Sabine2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazingly remote spot where you hear not a noise apart from sheep bleating

    Stefan2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Richard is a great host . We felt like we are at home. The beds was very comfortable and clean. The view is just amazing. Thanks Richard,we had a lovely weekend.

    Ventsislava2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Richard was very welcoming, he gave us good instructions to find his house, the views and tranquility of his home were wonderful and the room was clean and comfortable. Thanks so much for having us stay. We visiting the local Goldmines and some beautiful beaches in our two night stay. The children loved the trampoline and the animals.

    Julia2019-04-19T00:00:00Z
  • I found Richard to be a very pleasant and accommodating host, very helpful and easy to communicate with. The house is lovely and the bedroom and the kitchen are very spacious, the grounds/ gardens are beautiful and a great setting for any kind of retreat, a perfect place to stay for those who want to rest, take stock and re energise themselves, but also a wonderful place for exploring the local countryside. I enjoyed a few good walks during my stay. I hope to return next time I am visiting the area.

Lovely well-equipped cottage in rural location set in spectacular countryside 1/2 hour drive to coast.Comfortable, deceptively spacious, original features, wood burning stove (logs etc provided). Enclosed private garden. All bedding and towels provided. Extensive welcome pack including Welsh hamper, toiletries etc. Nearby dog-friendly pub. Ideal for exploring both coast and country, great for walking, cycling etc.or just to relax by the fire and enjoy the peace and quiet of this beautiful place.
This authentic c1800 Welsh Cottage provides comfortable open-plan living with lots of period charm mixed with everything needed for modern-day living. The cottage is extremely well- equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. Friendly hosts who live nearby are available to help with any queries and advice and will gladly recommend places to visit in the local area to suit all tastes. There is a lovely pub in the village within walking distance of the cottage which serves good home-cooked food and welcomes well-behaved dogs. Rural location but not remote with easy road and rail links.
The cottage is approx 1/2 mile from the famous Dolaucothi Goldmines, built by the Romans and now owned by the National Trust where visitors can pan for gold and take a tour of the underground mine shafts. Carmarthenshire is well-known for its wealth of castles, in particular Carreg Cennen and Dynefwr Castles in nearby Llandeilo The beautiful West Wales coast is approx 1/2 hour away by car where there are many small sandy coves and beaches as well as larger towns such as Aberaeron and New Quay where dolphins, porpoises and seals can often be seen. The local pubs in the area are all extremely friendly and serve excellent home-cooked meals. Particularly recommended is the Brunant Arms, Caio (see Facebook for details) and the Dolaucothi Arms, Pumsaint (recently voted Countryfile Best British Pub 2019)
  • Wonderful, characterful cottage with excellent amenities.

  • Elizabeths cottage is cosy and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. It has a lovely atmosphere. The small garden was lovely to relax in and had pleasant views.Seeing the horses in the morning was a treat. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with numerous walks and trails to do .It is very suitable for a dog.The local pubs are dog friendly. We enjoyed a nice meal at the dolcauthi pub.We would recommend booking at the dinning arms in Caio,it is very busy.We would recommend going to Lyn Brianne reservoir,Aberaeron and Gwarnant activity centre.

  • This is a stunning little cottage in a lovely rural area. The cottage is beautifully presented with an authentic feel but everything you would want for amenities. The hosts have put lovely extra touches to make it stand out like welsh treats and a real glass bottle of milk. We have two huskies that stayed with us and can say the cottage and surrounding area was dog friendly! The place was clean and homely and we would definitely like to return and would highly recommend. Thanks!

  • This cottage is idyllic. Very well equipped and peaceful. Great host too.

  • Beautiful cottage with great log burner. Nicely tucked away from main roads so there is no noise from traffic. The private garden is great and the place in general was very accomodating for both us and our two small dogs.

    Larry2018-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth's place was great. There were lots of really helpful touches for toddlers (fire guard, stair gates, blow up bath). The kitchen was really well stocked with tea/coffee/salt/pepper/oil etc. The area was lovely and we enjoyed the 15 minute walk down to the friendly local pub. Thank you for providing a perfect cosy cottage for a New Year break.

    Milly2018-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We could not of asked for more. Perfect location if you want to escape from all the noise of life. Lots of local walks, and a short drive to the coast... the cottage has everything you could need, with thoughtful added extras, which we were very grateful for. At first it seemed like we might need to snuggle up in blankets, but once the log burner started the whole cottage was toasty warm. The bed was comfy, the sofa was spacious, the whole property was lovely and clean, with fresh linens and towels. Very good value for money, would highly recommend.

  • Gillian's place is a great escape. Quiet, Dark (without light pollution) and secluded. The space was bright, warm and super clean - including a bath. Not far from a bunch of things to see/do and the aforementioned cake was a dream.

  • Lovely stay at Louises place! Cosy log fire, friendly pub over the road with good food.

    Alice2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully kept home in a peaceful location. The house itself is very homely and comfortable and being across the road from a pub serving great food is a bonus! The towels and furnishings were all excellent and made it feel just like home. Louise had kindly left us some milk, tea and coffee etc for a welcoming cuppa which was a nice touch. The location made it easy for us to explore in all directions, and there are plenty of places to visit/walk. Communication was excellent and we would definitely recommend this as a relaxing place to stay!

    Liz2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fab little cottage for our first stay in wales. All the kit you need for a few nights away. Little garden was an added bonus. Louise also left thoughtful gift for our son.

    Becky2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful cottage full of everything that you need. Louise was very helpful and was easy to communicate with. Cottage is perfectly situated so that you can explore many interesting places.

  • I can't recommend Teazle Cottage enough. It's a beautiful location in the heart of rural Wales. There are plenty of local sites and activities including Carreg Cennin Castle, Mountain bike trails, Dolaucothi Goldmines, Pony Trekking and beaches like Llansteffan. The cottage is spotless and has all the mod cons including sky tv, nicely finished bathroom with a cozy little garden . Louise and Geraint were perfect hosts, they were kind and helped us every step of the way with a good response time. There's a great mountain bike trail in cwm Rhaeadr which isn't far away and there's a fantastic waterfall which was one of the highlights for me. The cottage has a shed where you can put bikes and there's free parking in the village hall. Also its not that difficult to get out to pembrokshire if you drive into Carmarthen and take the dual carriageway. There's some fantastic beaches in Pembrokeshire. If you like rural life Llansawel is a good example of a Welsh country village with two pubs a church and a beautiful chapel on the hill. Its not far to Llandeilo or Lampeter where you have shops and other amenities. There is a bottle bank for recycling in the village but my only criticism is the council doesn't seem to encourage other recycling. Anyway that's a separate issue Teazle Cottage is the perfect rural getaway.

    Ceri2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Small cottage well located compared to visits to the area. A typical pub, and I recommend the market that takes place once a month, if you want to make beautiful meetings.

    Sylvie2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay we very much loved teazle cottage and the location. I would recommend having a meal opposite in the black lion hotel, the food was excellent and the hospitality.

  • Great location in a small friendly village. The house was very clean and had all we needed for our stay. We were very unlucky with the weather but Rachel had left plenty of logs for the stove so we enjoyed family time with the fire burning. We would happily return so that we could enjoy the surrounding area in better weather.

The Coach House is a charming cosy cottage situated well off the beaten track amongst the beautiful Carmarthanshire countryside & bluebell woods. Situated on the owners' smallholding; you are welcome to wander in the fields and woodland to meet our extended family of pet sheep, alpacas & goats plus 2 friendly horses and a donkey. In the garden are assorted hens & ducks to help wake you up in the morning & help to keep you entertained! Come and enjoy picnics & stunning sunsets in complete seclusion in any of the fields. Some of our recent lovely guests shared pictures on Instagram too! https://www.instagram.com/izogadventure/
The Coach House is a peaceful cosy retreat. It has been lovingly converted from a former outbuilding and has much charm and character. Consisting of one beautiful open plan space with cosy living area with large antique wood burner (that can be opened to give the experience of an open fire), there is oil fired central heating but we would advise bringing slippers if booking in the winter months, Wi-Fi (nb. signal can be intermittent especially in bad weather!), TV (freeview over 100 channels), DVD player & CD/radio (with Bluetooth connection for playing music from any of your own devices). There is a beautiful bedroom on the mezzanine level as well as a fully equiped kitchen and bathroom. The private covered outside area is perfect for enjoying the peace of the countryside with a drink and a bbq. The dark skies at night are perfect for stargazing. There is a beautiful view from the owner's garden which you can enjoy from the bench (pictured) just below the Coach House and also from the stunning circular feature window in the bedroom. The Coach House is perfectly suited as a romantic retreat for couples but can also be enjoyed by families due to the sofa bed in the living area. A cot and high chair can be provided on request; although care should be taken with small children due to the cottage layout with 2 sets of stairs and the sitting area is not enclosed. Initial supply of logs included and additional wood can be provided for a small charge.
The Coach House is situated just a few minutes from the beautiful village of Talley with it's stunning lakes, fascinating historic Abbey and plentiful woodland walks. There are some village pubs in nearby Cwmdu and Llansawell and the historic town of Llandeilo is approx. 7 miles away. Here you will find all amenities; Co op supermarket, local butchers & bakery as well as plentiful pubs, takeaways, cafes & restaurants including the famous Gin House, The Cawdor & Chocolate Emporium. Here in Llandeilo you also have the fantastic National Trust Dinefwr; stunning parkland with historic house and castle. Talley is situated within 30 mins drive to the market towns of Llandovery, Carmarthan & Lampeter; all of which have their unique history charm as well as modern shopping facilities and cinema, swimming pools etc. Close by you will find other National Trust treats such as the famous Goldmines. The fantastic Brecha forest, Black Mountains and stunning Pembrokeshire beaches such as Pendine Sands, the Cardigan bay coastal beaches such as New Quay & Aberaron as well as the Gower are all within an hour's drive. Nearest beach is Llansteffan, only 45 mins drive.
  • We’ve just returned from a few days away at The Coach House and are already planning when we can return! Claire and Shaun are wonderful hosts, we felt so welcomed and it’s obvious how much they care about their guests’ experience. A perfect place for a relaxing getaway. We loved all of the animals, and especially appreciated the opportunity to feed them! They all have their own characters and it was lovely to hear the stories of where they came from, and to see how much Claire and Shaun care for all of them. The Coach House itself is cosy, super clean and a relaxing space to stay in. It has everything you’d need and more! If you’re thinking about staying here then just book it, you won’t regret it!

  • If you want cosy, secluded, relaxing, clean, beautiful, close to nature, quiet, calm, characterful, off the beaten track...the list goes on, then Shaun and Claire’s Coach House is the perfect getaway. From the gorgeous building itself, to the warming wood stove, the cute animals to the stunning views, the friendly hosts to the characterful coach house, this place was a beaut! We will be coming back in the summer!

    Chris2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at Claire and Shaun's Coach House and it was just as perfect as the first time. It's such a cosy space and the rural location is so tranquil. The Coach House has everything you need for your stay and is so well looked after. We absolutely love it here and hope to return soon!

    Gemma2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t be disappointed! The Coach House is an immaculately converted home with high ceilings and comfy furniture. We loved the opportunity to feed the animals and enjoyed opening the curtains in the mornings to see the faces of inquisitive geese and ducks peeking back at us. Claire and Shaun are wonderful hosts. We were only away for a day and a half but we feel as though we have had a week’s holiday. We’ll be back 😁

    Rebecca2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Claire and Shaun are the most spectacular hosts going above and beyond to cater for their guests. Prosecco and welsh cakes on arrival is always a treat! Stunning home, with breath taking surroundings. Happy to make this our annual get away when visiting family and would recommend a million times over to anyone to stay here. Thank-you again for a wonderful experience, we look forward to seeing you again very soon x

    Jade2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed for two nights and couldn't have asked for a better stay. The coach house was beautiful - spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we would need for a comfortable stay. However the thing that really made this weekend break amazing was the atmosphere and the hosting. Shaun and Claire are the perfect hosts. From showing us around the fields and introducing us to all their beautiful, gentle animals, to providing extra board games for the children. They absolutely respected and ensured our privacy but were always on hand for a chat or if we needed anything. We felt completely relaxed, welcome and at home. We couldn't recommend the coach house more, and we are already planning our next stay with them very soon!

  • We would so advise you to visit this place. It is out the way ( not too far ) we may add but it’s so peaceful and quiet. Marianne is such a lovely host, we said a quick hello as she was outside on arrival but she left us alone after. A beautiful patio area outside to sit. Couldn’t ask for anything else. Highly recommended

Our smallholding is very calm, peaceful and remote, surrounded by its own pasture. Red kites and buzzards live here along with many other bird and animal species. Your accommodation is a light and airy first floor self-contained flat with its own private entrance. There is a stair-lift and a wet room making it suitable for people with limited mobility. A generous continental breakfast is supplied along with fresh eggs from our resident ex-battery chickens.
We have a well equipped, centrally heated one bedroom flat. It has an open plan living/kitchen area, a small bedroom (with a 4' double bed) and wetroom/shower. A good quality fold up single bed, to go in the living area, is also available on request.
LLethr is an equestrian property set in the North East Uplands Special Landscape Area of Carmarthenshire. Here you will find some of the most breathtaking scenery in Wales. If you enjoying walking, there are miles of footpaths and bridleways through open countryside and woodlands. For cycling fans, the picturesque country roads here see very little traffic. There are two fine pubs within 3 miles, and the bustling town of Lampeter with a wide range of shops, pubs and restaurants is just fifteen minutes drive. Other local attractions include the Dolaucothi Gold Mines, two horse trekking centres, and a fishing lake. For the more adventurous, there is a superb paragliding site nearby.
  • A beautiful place to stay set in wonderful setting. Thoughtful touches throughout the property. Useful recommendations for places to eat within the welcome pack. Carol and Richard were very warm and welcoming hosts.

  • Beautiful setting, a peaceful, restful place to stay. The accommodation was light, airy, very clean. It had everything I needed and generous good quality provisions, including eggs from the hens for breakfast which were very welcome and delicious.

  • Would recommend this rural retreat without any hesitation at all. Richard and Carol were beyond helpful, and the animals made it even better! Location is perfect for those that want an escape from busy city life with a short 15 minute drive to get any supplies that aren’t already kindly provided. Great base for exploring the beauty of Wales. We will definitely be back!

    Bianca2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely few days at Llethr, thanks. The flat was very comfortable and thoughtfully equipped and watching the rabbits in the field behind was a joy! Look forward to staying again soon.

    Andrew2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • The weekend trip has been amazing thanks to Carol's place! Really peaceful and lovely, you can enjoy the nature that surrounds you to switch off from the big cities. Carol and Richard were really helpful with local recommendations and giving us the directions to arrive without problems to the apartment, they both are lovely! The apartment in itself is really cozy, it has everything you need and the views couldn't be better. You can make friends with their super friendly doggos or with the rabbits, horses or chickens (which gave us amazing breakfast eggs) that are around the house. We would stay again without any doubts!!

    Laura2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay! Friendly, thoughtful hosts. Clean, tidy, modern & well equipped. Fresh farm eggs were tasty for breakfast. I highly recommend staying here! About 15 minute drive from town with supermarkets, cafes & pubs. Lovely quiet location out of town.

    Helen2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the rural retreat! The location was beautiful and just what we wanted to escape the city for the weekend. Also very quiet and peaceful. The airbnb was extremely clean, with a good range of cooking utensils. They were also very thoughtful to include things like milk, tea, bread and fresh eggs. We enjoyed long hikes around the nearby valleys and spending time with so many different animals on the property, our favourites being the chickens and dogs. This is the definitely the perfect place if you are an animal lover! Carol and Richard were very friendly and hospitable. We highly recommend staying here and hope to be back in the future.

  • I cannot recommend this wonderful place enough. If you want somewhere with modern style and comfort with a rural and traditional feel this is your place. Meredith is a great host. Is very welcoming and cannot do enough for you as he is onsite but not too close to worry about your own privacy. It really is a beautiful setting. We went as two families with 3 children under 2 and there was plenty of space upstairs and downstairs so never felt on top of each other. The hot tub with amazing views was a really lovely way to wind down at the end of the day/evening. The friendly (but quiet) peacocks were a lovely little addition to our trip and their morning visits to our patio thrilled the children. Cant wait to visit again.

  • Wonderful accommodation, wonderful people; what a find. We will be back for sure. This house has everything you could possibly need for your stay - the kitchen was extremely well stocked with utensils etc. Welsh cakes and milk in the fridge on arrival were a lovely touch. • We were a family of five with three teens looking for a few days getaway. Absolutely loved cottage. The owners have obviously spent a great deal of thought, time and energy restoring this lovely building and its surroundings. The place was warm, cosy and perfect for hunkering down in - the only problem we had was tearing ourselves away to explore the beautiful countryside around it. The cottage is extremely well equipped and whilst retaining a real rustic charm it has everything you could need for a perfect holiday. And when you do decide to venture out, the surrounding area is stunning, even on wet January days! Very highly recommended, and great hosts too - thank you from us all!

  • 6 of us stayed here and would all highly recommend it and stay again. The house had everything we needed and the garden / 20 acres had everything our dog needed. Gerald and Michelle recommended plenty of dog walks and pubs to try out and the Caio Forest walk was perfect for walking the dog off lead.

  • Totally A+ place all around. Gerald (host) and Mo (local) instantaneous in response and beyond helpful and courteous. House is in a beautiful spot and both sympathetically and thoughtfully restored. A real "owners house"-- fully stocked kitchen (a real range, a 4 slice toaster, real knives, a powerful kettle and a great big kitchen table to hang around and make plans), tons of books, a stack of board games. Bedding was professionally ironed and deeply comfortable-- a real treat. Bedrooms all have charming pastoral views of surrounding countryside and bright morning exposure. Heated stone floors on ground floor were a treat on a couple of cold days; woodburners were easy to get going and run. Location is easy distance to coast, Brecon Beacons and Cambrian Mountains for a wide range of things to do out and about. Our family got so excited about it by the end of three days words "our farm" were being used. It was a great stay.

The peace and quiet of Rhos Farm is magical with fab far reaching views all around the hills and valleys. We are lucky enough to have many ancient trees so the bird life is rich. We have resident red kite and buzzards who will readily feed off our stone table. With little light pollution clear nights are ablaze with the heavens and the milky way clear to see. We may be able to accommodate different start date (usually Friday's) if this is the case enquire first.
Rhos Barn, a traditional Welsh Barn adjacent to the owners’ farmhouse but with its own private and secluded garden, is set within a 100-acre farm in the rolling countryside of Carmarthenshire. Tastefully converted, it provides stylish and quirky holiday accommodation for up to eight people, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The barn has been very sympathetically converted to ensure it retains its characterful features from the beams to the lovely cosy wood burner in the tastefully furnished living room. There’s a comfortable ground floor bedroom with a king size zip link bed that can become 2 single beds if required with en-suite shower room which is also accessible via a ‘Jack and Jill’ door to the living space. The bedrooms on the first floor are accessed from the staircase leading from the living room up to a mezzanine area with comfy chairs for relaxing with a good book! Across a little “bridge” from the mezzanine is a twin room with an en-suite toilet and basin, and the remaining two bedrooms (both en-suite) are off the main landing. The kitchen/dining room is a great social space with a wonderful cushioned window seat looking out across the courtyard to the farmland beyond. It’s a great place to gather and chat and drink whilst dinner is being prepared! The fully enclosed garden has the added bonus of a hot tub and a separate garden entertainment room with pool table, darts and ample space to relax in. There is also a further paddock within the grounds where you can enjoy outdoor games, and a cabin with additional children’s games and toys. The track upto the farm is quite long with 2 stock gates to go through. It is uneven in places and not suitable for low sports cars for example. The National Trust Dolaucothi Gold Mines are 3 miles away and are well worth a visit; tours are available during spring throught to late Autumn. Walks and cycling in the beautiful Brechfa Forest are within easy reach, as are the Brecon Beacons. Llandeilo, with its array of chic shopping and cafés and restaurants, is close by. Lovers of gardens will enjoy visiting Aberglasney or the National Botanical Garden of Wales with its huge glass dome - perfect for exploring at any time of the year. Horse riding is available nearby and the glorious coastline of Cardigan Bay can be reached in well under an hour. In the most wonderful rural setting, but with so much within easy reach, Rhos Barn is the ideal place for a relaxing holiday and you will feel right at home. • I couldn’t recommend this place enough- book right now- you won’t be disappointed! The standard of cleanliness and range of amenities is exceptional. Rooms are beautifully furnished, the whole barn is sociable and cosy. Every need is catered for. The bedrooms are designed and decorated to a high specification. The living room is cosy- loved the log fire and blankets. The kitchen is a real hub of sociability- appliances are well considered and high specification. The hot tub is fabulous. The games room is an added bonus to add to the entertainment. Lyn and Pete are excellent hosts- on call for your every need, but they leave you to it! The entire outside space is completely private. Would hugely recommend to all!

  • On arrival , Pete took us through all the basics, and then we were left to enjoy the property. Although approachable, Pete and Lyn always stayed in the background, but were always there if we needed anything. Well equipped (there was absolutely everything there!), superbly maintained, with friendly and convivial hosts. The property is spacious, with a huge kitchen/diner and lounge, where all 7 adults and 2 dogs fitted with ease. The hot tub and games room are a massive bonus and were well used. Flowers and cake met us on arrival, which was a lovely touch.

  • This beautiful rural retreat exceeded all our expectations, from the amazing home baked cake and thoughtful presents for the children to the cosy but spacious barn equipped with everything you could wish for. We were a party of 5 adults, 2 children under 5 and a dog and this lovely place had everything we were looking for. Despite 3 days of rain, we still used the hot tub each evening, went out for walks in the beautiful countryside and enjoyed cosy evenings in front of the fire. Thank you Lyn for a fabulous weekend - we will be back!

  • This is how AirBnB should be! Great hosts attending to your every need, detailed walk-through at check-in with a local welcome basket and such relaxing accommodation we didn’t want to leave. You will not be disappointed staying at Rhos Barn!

  • Couldn't recommend Rhos Barn enough! We were immediately greeted by Lyn, then shown how everything worked. The host's were very attentive and thoughtful, even making us one of the most delicious Victoria sponge cakes that we've ever tasted! The weather wasn't great, but that just meant that we got to relax in the most beautiful setting for the entire weekend. Something we don't get to do very often so very much appreciated! Thank you so much to the amazing hosts, I am sure we will be back!

A quirky Barn conversion combining old and new features, with a fully fitted cottage style kitchen, large living room with wood burner and two upstairs double bedrooms. (Space for an extra guest if required). A walk in wet-room upstairs and small cloakroom toilet downstairs. Wonderful views of the hills and countryside near to Brechfa and Abergorlach. Barbecue area and seating outside. Lockable garage for bikes. Nestled in the hills of West Wales and close to many superb attractions.
Old Barn is a spacious Barn conversion with some great views over the hills of Abergorlach. The wood burner ready laid for your welcome and a few essential food items e.g. Bread, butter, milk, bacon and eggs from our own chickens. (Please note we supply one large basket of logs and kindling for free, more can be provided for an additional fee of £5 per basket.)
Old Barn is in the heart of rural Wales, despite this you are not too far from the beaten track and many attractions, such as famous biking tracks in the nearby Brechfa forestry. Nearby towns include Carmarthen, Llandeilo, Llandovery and Lampeter. The stunning West coast of Wales is approximately 45 minutes away and well worth a visit.
  • One of the nicest properties to be found. Fresh bacon, butter, eggs and milk greeted us upon arrival as well as fresh flowers in all the rooms. The larder was full of olive oils, sauces and herbs and there were delicious soaps in the bathroom and a mountain of towels in both bedrooms, far more than we actually needed. A basket of kindling and firewood had been laid out for us but sadly we didn't light the wood burner as the weather was on our side! We loved every moment of our stay here and desperately want to return in the winter to savour The Old Barn's magic once again.

  • We spent four nights with friends at Isobel’s immaculate home. Lovely touches from goodies in the fridge to fresh flowers dotted round the house. The barn is very spacious and peaceful with plenty of areas to read etc. We used the wood burning stove a couple of times which made the lounge very cosy. The heating is also very efficient. I would highly recommend staying here in this lovely part of west Wales, Aberglasney Garden is a short drive away and it just blew us all away with its beauty. Also spent the day at Laugharne immersed in the Dylan Thomas history, such a beautiful spot We would definitely love to return one day to this idyllic home

    Val2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start!! I would like to thank the lovely Isobel for allowing us the use of this spectaular house. The thoughtful extra touches were very gratefully received. From the tea, coffee, bread and bacon on arrival to the multitude of hidden gems. We had wonderful cozy evenings spent in front of the log burner listening to the radio and playing cards. We were both overwhelmed with the beauty of all aspects. The location was superb and the surrounding areas will forever hold very fond memories. It was the weekend we desired and were not disappointed. We hope to visit again in the near future.

  • We had a lovely stay, very peaceful and quiet possy in the beautiful Welsh countryside. The barn itself is very cosy with all the things you need. I found the bed very comfortable which is one thing I always hope for. Lots of walk and attraction to do around the area and some lovely local pubs to. Will definitely stay again if I'm in the area.

    Emma2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic accommodation, in a beautifully quiet part of the country. We booked last minute and were late arriving by the host was very accommodating and friendly. We would stay again!

    Emily2019-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Isobel's place is a perfect country break, really secluded and submerged in the Welsh countryside - we woke up one morning to find a pheasant leading sheep around the field next door and a bunny hopping behind! The barn is fully equipped with all the kitchen necessities and a lovely BBQ and patio space to have meals out in the sun overlooking the fields. The beds were exceptionally comfy and the shower was excellent. Isobel also had dog blankets, towels, toys and treats left for our dogs which was a lovely touch. A car is definitely essential to get to local villages and walking trials but we loved that the barn was a little oasis to come back to after a long day of country walking. Brechfa forest is a 5 minute drive with brilliant walking trails, finished with a visit to The Black Lion pub where yo can relax in the beer garden by the river (book in advance for food)! All in all a lovely country getaway!

Huge rooms, under floor heating, spotlessly clean and beautiful touches to the home made it the perfect stay for the 6 of us. Cannot recommend enough. Ps. Cooking can be done by gas cooker, over the fire pit, barbecue or pizza oven. The price listed is for 16 people, larger groups contact me for up to 26, also for the cost of smaller groups.
Belle Glamping is a small family run camp site that has been running for 8 years with great feedback regarding the beauty of the landscape, the lovely comfortable warm tents and the great hot tub. The camp is set in the field that adjoins our house and garden. We have hosted, birthday, anniversary, hen, stag, honeymoon and wedding celebrations. We have a beautiful white and gold Raj marquee tent for dining or to use as a party space. There are 2 long tables with bench seats which sit approx 16 people plus a bar. The marquee has gold decorated walls all the way around which can be added when needed. The fabulous bell tents have wood stoves fitted usually used during the colder months with a basket of logs provided each day. This year we are adding a gorgeous lotus belle tent. There are proper mattresses with cotton bedding, blankets, rugs, a tea light chandelier, a basket for shoes and a box of games including scrabble, chess, cards, monopoly etc. The cost is for the whole site with up to 6 tents each sleeping up to 4 adults or 2 adults and 2 children plus 1 infant in each. If you want to stay without using the tub contact me for the price. Bookings are 2 nights minimum at weekends, and 3 nights at bank holiday weekends. The new kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, glasses, pans etc. Cooking can be done on a full size gas cooker indoors or on a gas cooker outside, over the fire pit, barbecue or in the pizza oven which was the oven from the range in the house and works really well. Wood for the all the stoves and fire pit is provided you just bring your clothes, towels and food. Please don't bring single use plastic glasses etc. everything you need is provided in the kitchens. There are 2 bathrooms, one is an eco compost loo with a new gas shower next door and the one in the vintage 70's static caravan has a lovely hot shower, sink and flushing loo (for wees only). There is electricity to the kitchen and to the static caravan for charging phones and using hair dryers etc. There is no electricity to the tents which have tea light chandeliers which make the tents warm and beautiful. The local area has forests, valleys, lakes, beaches and mountains to explore. There are Roman goldmines nearby and the glorious award winning Ceredigion coastline is 45 minutes away where you can take a boat trip from New Quay to view the school of 200 bottle nose dolphins that visit the bay between May and September. Horse-riding, fishing, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, surfing and many other sports available in the area. We have lots of brochures for things to do. Please ask if you need help organizing an event or outing. There is clay pigeon shooting on the first Saturday of every month a few fields away. Let me know if you would like to take part as it needs to be booked. Shooting from 11 am-3 pm.
  • Jenny is very welcoming and is happy to help with the camp fire and lighting the tee lights when it gets dusk...she sent a message before we arrived asking for a time we were expected as she would get the hot tub ready for us! • Jenny made our surprise birthday weekend get together the most amazing & memorable time for all of us - especially for the birthday boys! The location was perfect for our occasion and the amenities gave us all we needed & more. All 15 of us are unanimous in saying we had such a magical time at the beautiful Belle Glamping site . The tents & beds were beautifully decorated, clean & incredibly comfy. The Persian feast Jenny made on Saturday night was outstandingly delicious! And the hot tub an absolute joy! We received a friendly welcome, tips & advice that made us feel right at home. Jenny's patience and clear communication in the run up to our stay was invaluable & made it to say for me to organise our group of 15. Whoever has the chance to stay at Belle Glamping will be very lucky to experience this special place. Our stay will go down in our groups' history as the one to remember! Highly highly recommended!

  • Thank you Jenny for an amazing weekend! We were a group of 7 for a Hen Party, staying Friday to Monday... & this place did not disappoint! Messaging our questions beforehand was easy and during our stay nothing was too much trouble and Jenny even went to a local shop for us! The site had everything we could have needed! Jenny was on hand but also gave us plenty of space too. After showing us how to maintain the Hot Tub and Stove’s on the first night, we were well on our way keeping these going ourselves. On the Sunday night we took Jenny up on the offer of cooking a meal on the open fire which was such a special experience, the food was delicious & ended with the best chocolate cake! Sitting around the campfire and in the Hot Tub under the stars we’ve truly had a great weekend of making memories, being one with nature & would highly recommend.

  • I stayed here with 13 other guys for a 30th party and Jenny was 100% amazing from start to finish. She gave us all the tips we wanted for the (beautiful) local area and was incredibly accommodating to all of us whilst we were there. The landscape was stunning to be in, and the accommodation itself was all of the goodness of camping, just with much more added comfort. The rooms get toastie at night due to the stoves and lit candles (which Jenny lights every evening), the hottub remains hot all through the night once lit and just generally the ambience you get when you stay in this place is really unique and special. Sitting around the campfire drinking and chatting into the early hours of the morning is definitely one to add to the bucket list. Again, Jenny was really lovely and even baked a cake for the occasion. We will definitely be returning and would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking to have a wonderful, comfortable time, in a naturally stunning environment. Thaaaaanks!

  • There had been heavy snow in Wales the day before we arrived which meant Jenny and the team had been up all night knocking snow off the tents and trying to get the site ready in adverse conditions! This meant there were a few things not quite ready but they had worked really hard to get it how it was. We were very lucky and had sunshine all weekend! The site is absolutely beautiful. Very quirky static caravan which we used as a communal space for drinks in the evening. The tents were gorgeous and beds very comfortable. (We brought extra blankets for warmth in April). Managed to fit about 10 of us in the hot tub and watched the sun go down. Jenny cooked us a lovely Sri Lankan meal on the Saturday and we sat outside to eat with the fire blazing looking at the stars. We didn’t leave the site apart from the drive but the area is beautiful and I would love to return to explore more. Thanks Jenny and co, hope you get a rest now!

  • A fantastic property - we had a wonderful Christmas here - a perfect quiet get-away. The apartment has everything you could possibly need and is equipped to a very high standard and beautifully decorated. A very warm welcome on our arrival, including to our dog (complete with Christmas gift!). The cinema was fabulous - we loved it (even better than it looks on the pictures). Adrian & Jill couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. This is definitely a property we would highly recommend for a peaceful retreat and family break.

  • The cinema room and dog room caught our eye, but the wonderful warm hospitality and delicious home made cake and Welsh cakes made our extended weekend break really memorable. No words to express what a lovely relaxing time we had! Highly recommend for the beautiful setting, the gorgeous rooms and the hospitality and warmth from Jill and Adrian.
