The Cabin is a converted shipping container with a double bed, kitchenette, shower and toilet. Heater and Air conditioner TV and DVD Under cover BBQ. Stunning valley views of the border ranges and farmland. Birds abound and wallabies hop by. Please Note: We are not a short distance from Lamington National Park - that is at least a 2 1/2 hour drive away. We are about a 30 minute drive from Mt Warning, Natural Bridge, Mebbin National Parks and 45 minutes from Springbrook National Park.
Limpinwood Valley is a beautiful part of the world, surrounded on 3 sides by the border ranges and Mount Warning (Wollumbin) on the other. We have 2 villages (Chillingham & Tyalgum) about a 10 minute drive away and still only 40 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport and beaches. We do not have easy access to hiking trails but we do have a pleasant pastoral walk. We are a NON smoking environment.
In the village of Tyalgum there are some very interesting shops and a lovely cafe 'Flutterbies'. Well worth checking out. Chillingham, another close village, has Bucks Barn with Australian Bush Tucker. Friday night is pizza and music night at the back of Flutterbies cafe in Tyalgum. There is no late night shopping in our villages so, if you need supplies you will need to be there before 5 p.m. or stop at Nerang or Murwillumbah on your way here.
  • Had such a great weekend at Noeline's airbnb. A real country escape, can easily forget your conveniniently only 45 minutes from the gold coast. Noeline and her husband were great, very welcoming and friendly hosts. Will definately be back!

  • Noeline and Russell’s beautiful cabin is located in a breath-taking location with the most amazing mountain views, surrounded by bird life and wallabies. The cabin is super comfy and has everything you need including a bbq to cook outside and a beautiful, private deck. We had the best time in the 10 days we spent here and enjoyed trips in the surrounding area. There’s lots to explore such as cute towns with cafes, beautiful hikes and rivers close by and the beach is not too far either. Noeline & Russell are the most lovely hosts, very thoughtful and helpful. We loved our time here, highly recommend staying to anyone and are sure to be back. Thank you Noeline & Russell!

  • The place is amazingly beautiful, the facilities perfect, all little details thought of by the lovely hosts, Noeline and Russell. And the wallabies and birds made it even more special.

Morning sunlight in your kitchen and sitting room or misty mornings in the cooler months. Enjoy breakfast on us on your own verandah overlooking Mount Warning and the Border Ranges. On warm nights leave the glass sliding doors open - there's a lockable screen door to keep you secure. In cooler months get cosy and light the fire (we supply chopped kindling and wood). Rainwater, solar power and a septic system - use septic friendly cleaners/shampoos. Main house is close by if you need us.
Easy drive to the village for a meal or a delicious local gelato. The cottage has free WiFi and television. LIzzie can organise a guided tour of the surrounds for you if you are up for that. Let us know before you arrive what you would like to see.
Nestled in a rural landscape in the heart of the Caldera behind Wollumbin (Mt Warning), this cottage is self contained and looks out onto the Border ranges. Close to the tiny village of Tyalgum which is a well known tourist destination for day tours. The village has a great café, Flutterbys, a general store with coffees, snacks and supplies and an old fashioned pub. Tyalgum hosts a famous music festival each spring and has many festival weekends and events run by a vibrant and diverse community of residents and outlanders. Friday night at Flutterby's is a music and Pizza night. There's a fabulous gelato shop open on weekends with a bona fide Italian gelato master creating unique and delicious flavours each week.
  • Jenna is amazing host, very friendly, welcoming and communicative. The cottage is definitely worth staying in where wonderful mountain views surrounding the property is reachable from each angle. Also, the cottage is tidy and stylish offering everything we need and beyond.

    Mel2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This was a good choice for a quiet and peaceful stay. The cottage is comfortable and has good amenities. The views from the seating outside overlooked country hills and was a nice spot to wake up to while having breakfast. Jenna is a great host, and it was wonderful to see the tree planting she is doing to improve the habitat on the property. She provided many local tips which were much appreciated. Thanks Jenna!

  • Warm and kind hosts who love to share their home and love of animals and nature. Beautiful setting and cosy spaces

    Fiona2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny went above and beyond during our short stay at Wishingwell Farm. We really enjoyed ourselves in the relaxing and private setting of the farm, away from the hustle and the bustle and went home re-energised. Thank you for this beautiful experience!

    Maja Lisa 2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny was friendly, hospitable and took time out to make us feel at home and give us a tour of the farm. We had a lovely time and miss the animals already! Our room was also super clean and cosy.

  • Beautiful farm fueled by Jenny and Davids’ love for animals. Wonderful getaway for us city folks. Great hospitality!

    Jaime2019-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • As soon as you arrive at jennys Farm you get greater by a host of sweet friendly animals, chickens, ducks, goats, dogs, cats who all seem to get on well with each other! You get the chance to go around feeding them all with jenny, which my grandson particularly loved. The room we had was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, with lots of yummy things in fridge for breakfast. Jenny and David took us out and about with them which was great as we didn't have transport and they were great company! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to be in a peaceful, beautiful setting with the added interest of all the lovely animals 😊

    Rebecca2018-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jenny was a wonderful host and the stay was such a dream. Her home is beautiful and all the animals so loved and friendly. Stunning location, cosy home, great chats, would highly recommend!

A private, rustic-modern, detached guest studio located on our working farm, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and countryside. Explore the delights of the Tweed Valley such as the near-by Crystal Creek swimming holes, National Parks, Art Galleries of Murwillumbah, or just pick up some local produce to enjoy back around the outside fire pit, while soaking up the serenity of woodlands and pastures. Undercover adjacent guest parking. Pool available in Spring/Summer.
Bar fridge, microwave and toaster etc in a kitchenette arrangement. 4 seat dining table. Weber Q gas BBQ on an undercover paved area. Modern reverse cycle air-conditioning in the studio, or the option of two cast iron fire pits for fine outdoor evenings (depending on which view you prefer.) Sofa lounge. Bluetooth JBL all-weather speakers and a large-screen HD smart TV. (Guests need to provide there own digital devices and media to connect to these however.) Good TV reception. There is no guest Wi-Fi sorry, but there is good network coverage for mobile phones. Fully lockable rooms with outdoor sensor lighting. Filtered rainwater, gas hot-water, solar power and modern eco-friendly composting toilet. (Shower and toilet rooms are separate adjoining rooms to the studio.) No children or pets please. There are high cliffs and deep creeks nearby. Tractors and farm implements aren't great playground equipment. Large animals may be in the adjacent paddocks. Visiting dogs can chase stock and local wallabies. Non-smoking everywhere. It is not wheelchair accessible.
Our farm is located approximately 7 minutes drive from the village of Chillingham and 14 minutes drive from the rural centre of Murwillumbah. We look north to the cliffs of Springbrook National Park and Border Ranges. There are many good coffee shops and restaurants throughout the Valley, but a short (though scenic) drive is necessary to visit them.
  • I love this place a lot. Once you step in, you got filled with the relaxation and joy. The view is spectacular, the studio is clever set up and has the little touches that you are feel welcome. Lou is great host: thank you so much for taking me to feed the bull, showing me around, and was really great to meet Smokey. And thank you a lot for your husband for helping with my car. Definitely recommend this place for everyone who is looking for some piece and relaxation!

  • The Alpine Cabin was the perfect place to rest and getaway from the world. It was quiet and secluded. Barry was a gracious and welcoming host. The Garden Kitchen has everything you need to cook (pots and pans, kettle, Stovetop etc). We didn't see a furry friend the Koala but we did have a visit from a Goanna! Haha. 8min drive from Mt Warning carpark, bring swimmers and jump in the river to cool off- what more could you need :)

  • Lovely place and lovely people. Laura and Malcolm's place is quiet, private and very comfortable. And did I mention the view of Wollumbin!! It is fantastic and our hosts made us feel that we could go and sit on their viewing deck anytime. The swimming pool was also very good = it is just next to their house. Laura provides many thoughtful touches and generous supplies for breakfast including muesli, eggs, bacon and crossiants. We also enjoyed the nearby town of Uki especially the coffee at the Post Office and were given a guided tour of the coffee roasting process and pink coffee grinder by owner Gary. The other thing we loved was our lunch at the nearby Rainforest Cafe. Both of these places were suggested by Laura. Thank you Laura and Malcolm for your kind hospitality and we hope to see you again.

  • Laura's cottage is located in a beautiful area of southern QLD. A comfortable and spacious private space that is easy to find. Close to amenities yet rural enough for peace and quiet as well as bird life and wildlife. Loved it!

Spectacular views, fantastic hospitality, amazing pool, breakfast treats provided, local knowledge shared, super clean facilities, lots of books, easy access to other towns and attractions eg Tweed Regional Gallery and last but not least, we mastered the walk up Mt Warning but not the microwave. • Very picturesque! A great place to unwind and get back to basics. Loved the hot water shower. It really felt like 5 x star camping. Michelle is so lovely and super helpful. Really enjoyed having a wine on the deck overlooking the creek and watching the sun go down over the mountains. Also loved that it’s dog friendly too. Will be back. :)

  • Beautiful getaway spot. Super private and very comfortable bed.

    Laknuwan2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • I have nothing bad to say about the charming little hut. The nature around the property is beautiful and there are great views right from the deck. The compostable toilet is kept very clean. The battery powered fairy lights and lamp in the hut give ample light for reading and playing cards. It’s so nice to say somewhere a little more remote and with no power, it really helps you disconnect. Cheers, Hannah

  • What a magical place, from start to finish Sharon is an amazing host. Highly recommended

    Danielle2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon is very hospitable and friendly, together with her husband they have so many interesting hobbies from growing plants, paintings, tea towels, boulder rocks just to name a few! Be sure to ask them about it. The cottage is clean and cute, and very private, no neighbours and the hosts leave you to your self to relax. The surroundings are spectacular! With mountains surrounding you at every turn. The little creek to swim in is divine and the cows next door are cute. It was a relaxing stay and I definitely will come back!

  • Property was fine for our overnight stay.

    John2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet.. if the Australian country bush ever is. Bird song, cicadas, cows bellowing in the fields around. The cottage has everything you could possibly need for an extended stay. The hosts are amazingly welcoming. Ask about the incredible artwork, tea towels, thunder eggs etc. that these two busy people have as part of their lives. And the property plantings and working nursery are just extraordinary. Well worth a visit and we are looking forward to making time for a revisit.

    Kate2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful 4 nights and found the house and location extremely relaxing. Walking up the fence line to the top of the hill late afternoon is magic as you can see the mountains clearly. Listening to the birds on the balcony was great too. Nice drives around the whole area too with great scenery.

  • Jen's place is very special and clean. surrounded by great view. We have enjoyed our holiday in Jen's place. Jen also has been very hospitable to let us have a close encouter with the farm animals, our little one has enjoyed the experience.

  • My partner and I had a sweet escape at the Red Shed. Can’t think of a better place to kick off our holiday. Incredibly stunning views with lovely cows as our neighbours. Fresh breeze through out the day to keep us cool. Words are not enough to describe how wonderful this place is. We spent hours inside the barn just relaxing, chatting and playing games, and also wandering around to explore the valley. The village nearby, Tyalgum, has a great Gelato shop that opens during weekends. Two minutes drive away there is a lookout with spectacular scenery. Too many good memories there. We took lots of photos with great smiles in them. Jen and Darren are caring, thoughtful and simply awesome. We definitely wanna come back in the future.

  • My wife and I had a lovely time staying at Jen's property. The location was great and the views were just beautiful. It was really nice relaxing and unwinding away from the hustle and bustle of our usual day to day. Jen went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect and was very helpful with communication regarding locating the property. Would highly recommend.

Welcome to my Eco Villa Surya. This is my home I will share with you. This is a sanctuary and nature retreat, perfect to wind down from the hustle & bustle of life. Our property is backing on to the Night Cap National Park on a high mountain plateau with incredible views over the Tweed Valley. You will have a very beautiful room with plenty of light with your own entrance and a big King sized Latex bed. A wonderful place to relax and rejuvenate! A great base camp to explore the area. Welcome!!!
We are off the grid, meaning the house is running on solar power and we have spring water running on tap. It is a very natural property were you will see the wild life during your stay. You might see the wallabies hopping by your window! Even though the room is attached to our house, it has a seperate entrance for your privacy, also our flush toilet is accessible from the verandah, no need to go through the house. The shower and big bath tub is located in a seperate beautiful bath house which is a 40 second walk away from the house. Only if you wish to cook we will have to share the kitchen. Welcome! I just newly renovated the guest room you can stay in and used only the finest materials, as all of my house is made out of Eco materials. It is an Eco Villa because we used non toxic Eco & clay paints all through the house, wood and bamboo flooring, wool insulation and artistic finishing touches like beautiful stain glass windows. It has a King size Latex mattress in the room and a great table to do your work from.
My place is on my share in a community. We are a circle of friends, knowing each other for more than 20 years and live in a peacefully and supportive way. We are all spiritually active and open to alternative life style. We all have our large individual shares and live far enough away from each other to have plenty of private space...therefor it would be appreciated if guests please don't attempt to visit the neighbouring houses
  • We didn’t stay there as we went there at night and it’s too dark to find the road, our car got stuck in the mud due to the rain and couldn’t move, we ended up getting a tractor to help us out. Sarvajna is so kind to let us cancel and waived the fee.

    Sharon2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place has the most spectacular views! Sarvajna is so relaxed and welcoming, it feels like staying at a friend’s place. Absolutely recommend if you need a relaxed escape from daily life

    Anissa2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • The best location I’ve ever stayed! Amazing view from the hill top, home built by host with many amazing little touches that just makes it so special. Sarvajna was an incredible host, very easy to talk to and very sweet and hospitable. Room was spacious with nice big bed. You really feel comfortable out in the middle of nowhere surrounded by nature. 10/10 would stay again!

    Emma2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Magnificent location in nature. Large private bedroom, bath house with views. Very nice host. You should be a nature lover... might have to share your room with a local huntsman.:-)))

    Sabine Ekanta2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you need realx and a healing place Sarvajna's home is where you should go

    Matteo2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sarvajna’s place has to be seen to be believed. Perched on top of a mountain pass with almost 360 views far away from the madding crowd ! The bathhouse is a treat ! Sarvajna is a wonderful host and we really enjoyed our friendly chats. Access is a little steep (it is on top of a mountain and definitely worth the drive) , but does require a confident driver (but a normal 2wd can do it).

    Chris2018-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Sarvajna was very helpful in providing all the information we could need to explore Nimbin and the festival. She has a beautiful forest house which really takes your mind away from the hustle and bustle of city life. I would recommend this place for anyone with a good appetite for adventure.

    Michael2018-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • Me and my partner stayed here for 4 days and seriously the photos and add does not do this place justice. From the moment you start driving up the long long long winding driveway through complete forest you know this place is going to be something special. This air bnb is literally situate on a the top of a mountain with view overlooking valley. The location is borded by 3 national parks. The view is breathtaking as is the serenity and peace. Its is so quiet!! The bathhouse was incredible. The bath is fed by a natural spring and the room has huge windows that look out to the valley. Sarvajna is a beautiful host very warm and friendly. We have definitely made a new friend for years to come! She adds that last touch of magic to make the stay absolutely perfect. Could not reccomend this place enough. The driveway is long and looks rough but we managed fine in my small lancer. As long as your car isnt lowered you will be fine. If the driveway annoys you then this isnt the place for you! Sarvajnas place is a home away from home where you can recharge and reconnect with both yourself and nature. We will be back!

  • Jenny is truly a “Super Host”! She spent hours crafting with our 10 year old daughter, teaching her about the menagerie of animals on the farm....from peacocks to goats and lots in between, and helping her play the spirit flute. The area is spectacularly beautiful. Jenny was knowledgeable about different places to go & things to see and do. She responds to communications very quickly & makes every effort to ensure you’re comfort. If you want to experience a real, working farm with a kind and generous hostess, Wishing Well Farm is your Place.

    Dru2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is really quite a private space, a smallish and cozy bedroom. Jenny is a considerate host and it is nice to meet all the animals at the property.

  • This was my second time that i stayed at wishing well farm. i love it there, Jenny is very nice and friendly and i enjoyed every second of my stay there.

    Parisa2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Wishingwell farm was adorable. Peaceful and friendly atmosphere. The animals were a hoot, especially Mocha the gorgeous dog who greeted us on arrival at the front gate and showed us to the door of the house. Love to have a welcome like that every day. Feeding the ducks was so much fun, hoovering up the food from your hand. So nice to get back to nature. The room was exceptionally clean and inviting. Lovely 2 night stay.

Our favourite spot was in the fold out lounge chairs under the magnificent mango tree. We also appreciated that Tomo's cottage is eco friendly and dog friendly. I know there was much more of the property we never got to explore and hope to do this on our next stay.

  • The converted horse stables with Hello Mr Ed door feature was a lovely surprise. It was clean, peaceful, had great amenities and an excellent opportunity to get back in touch with nature. The outdoor bathroom had a gorgeous view of the green paddocks and huge mango tree and the walk around the property was also beautiful especially for our Pup Hugo who loved the space to run around. Chloe the dog was also a lovely friendly dog for our dog Hugo to play with. Her little surprise visits to say hello at the door were extra special. It was a short drive to local suburb Uki as well as Nimbin for coffee and eats. Thank - you Tomo & Rico, we will be back again one day!

  • We really enjoyed our taste of glamping in such a beautiful, verdant setting.

    Craig2019-04-23T00:00:00Z
  • Al though only stayed for one night, the unit was great, really private, comfortable and clean. It is prefect retreat with all the trimmings that you would expect. The Wifi works but slightly slower than normal, but that was not an issue. The main reason for coming would be to relax and that is easy to achieve. There is a Cafe only 400 metres down the road which is great. Also one of the best Bar meals I have had about 4 Kms away at Uki at the Mt Warning Hotel. Obviously your own transport is a must. Judith and Barry are great hosts with information and very friendly.

Just 35 minutes from Gold Coast Airport and 10 minutes drive from the beginning of the Mt Warning walking track. Byron Bay is also 40 minutes away

Nestled in the valley at the foot of Wollumbin-Mt Warning, Bromeliad Cottage is a cosy, peaceful, self-contained stay for singles, couples or a small family. Enjoy birdsong all day, an outdoor fire at night, a stroll around the tropical acreage or a swim (fitness or fun) in the 20m lap pool. A few minutes drive gets you to Mt Warning, Mavis's Kitchen, Uki Village, Tweed Regional Art Gallery and Murwillumbah, with the coast from Byron Bay to Surfers Paradise also in easy reach.
Bromeliad Cottage sits just in front of our family home and offers complete privacy with your own vehicle parking right at the front door entrance. You are welcome to wander about our property and pick any seasonal fruit or nuts from the many trees and plants or relax in air-conditioned comfort inside. The 20m lap pool has open access from the side of the main house and is available for use in daylight hours. Separate pool towels can be provided on request. Bromeliad Cottage also has a private courtyard with a firepit for you to enjoy and a Weber gas BBQ on the front deck for your use at any time.
Historic Uki Village, just 3 mins drive away, has three wonderful cafes to enjoy (including the unique Post-Office Cafe) and hosts a produce market every Saturday and the Buttery Bazaar - an art, craft and treasure market - every third Sunday of the month. The Mt Warning Hotel in Uki is a modern and welcoming establishment serving great family meals every day of the week. Wollumbin-Mt Warning is the first piece of land in Australia to be hit by sunlight every morning. Many climbers leave before dawn to catch the sunrise as it happens. Be prepared though! Wollumbin-Mt Warning is a 2.5hr uphill climb to the top (5hrs return) with a "vertical rock scramble" to the peak. It's a wonderful climb but please respect the traditional owners of the mountain and follow all directions carefully. The Wollumbin-Mt Warning National Park is also just a few minutes from Bromeliad Cottage, with the entry to the challenging and inspiring mountain-climb track less than 10 mins drive. On the way you'll pass the famous Mavis's Kitchen restaurant and function house and the Rainforest Cafe serving an array of excellent meals including vegan alternatives. Other local attractions include the Tweed Regional Art Gallery and Margaret Olley Centre, the Natural Bridge, Nimbin, the Murwillumbah Arts Trail, Brunswick Heads Hotel, Byron Bay (including all the big music festivals), the entire tweed coastline only 30 mins drive away and local markets in different places every single weekend. And all this with the Gold Coast airport also just 30 mins away!

  • Bromeliad cottage is a beautiful cottage in a spectacular location very close to Mount Warning. Lisa, Adrian and her boys are very welcoming and their dog Casper is a very friendly and well behaved boy. Our accomodation was perfect for our one night getaway from Brisbane. Both the property and gardens are extremely well maintained and provided the retreat we were hoping for.

    Jo2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay on this beautiful property. Lisa was very warm and welcoming and gave us some great local tips. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Lisa and Adrian’s place in Uki is a delight. So relaxing and tranquil in a quite little valley with lush garden surrounds, stunning views of the Mountain and a gorgeous pool. The cottage was also very clean and well appointed with everything we needed. It’s a fantastic location for exploring Mt Warning NP and beyond. Would highly recommend it. Lovely people and excellent hosts.

  • Beautiful house, great facilities and stunning location. We enjoyed our stay at Paul’s home & would certainly stay here again!

    Amy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Paul’s place in the tree tops is a retreat with exceptional views, bird & frog sounds, comfortable bed & pillows & a sparkling pool. Paul is friendly & an interesting host & aware of his guests privacy as well. As a single female I felt very comfortable staying in his home & sharing his spaces. The pool area & deck overlook the rainforest & mountains & were my fave places. It’d be good to have a lighter quilt in summer & provide 2 towels over 2 days, especially if it’s rainy weather. Bring extra food for snacks , you can store it, then you don’t have to leave at all!

    Jenny2020-02-10T00:00:00Z

  • The golden retreat was a beautiful place to stay. The views are absolutely gorgeous. My partner and I spent most of our time lying around the pool surrounded by lovely greenery. This place is perfect for younger couples on a budget. Paul is an excellent, laid-back host who always makes sure that you have everything you need. 10/10 would stay again!

    Mia2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Paul’s space is nothing short of magical. The jungle and where you are situated is absolutely breathtaking! The house itself is immaculately clean and very stylish - a lot of thought has been put into the design and the pool is just gorgeous too. Paul and his little dog Joey are so lovely, very easy to chat to and very hospitable hosts. We had such a wonderful time and we plan to return soon! Could not recommend highly enough!

This sweet and elevated workman's cottage, set on a disused farm, is utterly charming and cosy. It's a particularly convenient location if you're looking to venture out into the Border Ranges National park with its vast views and numerous, magical walking tracks. The cottage itself is pretty basic. Perfect for those whom appreciate good old rustic charm, or those looking for a country escape.
As you will be able to tell by the photos, the space is very rustic yet charming. It's definitely a space free of 'bells & whistles', concentrating more on the basics, done well. Just like us it has some bumps and bruises but we love it for that. Please be aware that mobile phone reception is non existent. Say your goodbyes from about 20 minutes away. You can keep in touch with the outside world via the internet (iPhone and messenger etc). However! The big house just at the top of the drive approx. 80m away) does have a landline for emergencies. There is a small television and DVD player (with lots of DVDs to choose from), however, there is no actual TV reception here. There is an HDMI socket at the back of the TV if you'd like to link up your computer to stream via the internet. Please be aware that the internet connection isn't super fast so it can glitch a bit. If the weather is bad, the internet is even more glitchy, so chuck on a dvd and forget about the world! Fire flies!!!! Magical little critters they are!! I've seen them here. Just not all the time. Very mesmerising to watch if you get lucky enough! I've been sure to include the following items as they are must haves: Coffee, Tea, Sugar Mustard & Tomato Sauce Olive Oil Wine vinegar Balsamic Vinegar Salt & Pepper
If you're wanting to see what the Border Ranges National Park has to offer there are plenty of hits on the internet. From peoples drone videos on youtube, to the more thorough 'to do' info via the national parks NSW website. In terms of what is available in the area, there is a sweet little general store in the nearby town of Wiangaree (which is where you turn off the highway). This is approx. 10 minutes away. They have the basics there, bread, milk, beer etc. Nothing fancy. Just the basics. Run by lovely locals. The next nearest town is Kyogle which has a supermarket with all your provisioning needs, again, nothing fancy.
  • Our stay in the cottage exceeded our hopes for a moment away to rest and restore with my partner and I and our pup. We stayed for just under a week in perfect serenity. Quiet and still in beautiful nature, with plenty of places to explore by car or foot nearby. The cottage is full of complimentary essentials making us feel very much at home here. Bring just enough grocery produce to make your time comfortable here as after you arrive you won’t want to leave to the next towns for anything. Cottage is cosy but spacious. Location is quiet but alive. Vibe is soft but feels oh so good. Thank you Jessica to hold this space for all of us! Be back again soon.

    Darcy2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, rustic accommodation close to the Border Ranges National Park. We enjoyed meeting the owner of the property.

    Christine2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little rustic getaway right outside the scenic Border Ranges. Lovely view and we enjoyed exploring the property. The owner Chang was kind enough to give us a tour of a couple walking tracks nearby. Definitely stock up on food in Kyogle beforehand as there’s really nothing healthy at the local shop. We would recommend this little charmer for anyone wanting to disconnect and explore the beautiful Border Ranges next door.

    Jessica2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a charming little cottage, full of personality ! The cottage is well equipped with all you need. Just the place to unwind and enjoy nature. A running creek and lots of exploring was enjoyed by my dog and myself.

  • Such a cosy place, off the beaten track, a great romantic get away!

    Jessica2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Mudbrick cottage, very rustic, was like a step back in time.... with wifi! Great creek for dogs to swim and play.... bring your inflatable raft for ultimate relaxation! The view from the veranda is much bigger and better than the photos.

    Gareth2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is even cutter than the pictures, the fire is toastie warm, and there was a lovely selection of herbal teas! The cottage has everything you need and nothing you don't - just perfect for a get away. We were lucky enough to join Chang and Alfie (the dog) for a lovely walk around the property. We just wish we had an extra day to stay. Thanks so much!

Hey guys! Welcome to my peaceful cottage in Numinbah! It's located by Numinbah Creek - This is the first creek crossing after passing Natural Bridge National Park if you're heading South. Chill by the creek with views of Springbrook Mountain. There's a beautiful swimming area down there. Plenty of space with a king bed, queen bed in the second bedroom and a king single, the beds are very high quality and comfortable! Fully equipped kitchen, large deck, webber style BBQ and a fire place.
Your own private creek! Large deck with a BBQ. There will be fresh farm eggs, bread, jam, peanut butter, oats and basic cereal provided for breakfast. You should find everything you need in the kitchen including a gas stove top, baking trays, pots and pans, wine glasses etc. Including an espresso maker with milk heater. Instant coffee and tea provided too. There's a new fire place in the lounge room, I'll be sure to leave some wood and kindling for you during the cooler months of course. Fresh rainwater. The lounge room has new leather couches so there's a very comfortable space inside to relax. The property gets 4G mobile phone reception. You should find everything you need in the kitchen including a gas stove top, baking trays, pots and pans, wine glasses etc. Including an espresso maker with milk heater. Instant coffee and tea provided too. Plenty of DVD's to chill and watch movies, the smart TV has a HDMI cable for laptops etc... Mosquito coils provided for outdoor use only. Feel free explore further down the creek, it's beautiful down there. Please help yourself to the fire place down by the creek, there is chairs, timber and a BBQ grill. There is also a Hammock you can hook up down by the creek as well :)
Chillingham is the local town 5 km south featuring a gorgeous local store. They sell alcohol and fresh food, all your necessities including a post office. I have been friends with the neighbours for over 10 years and our community is extremely friendly, open and warming to guests.

  • Wonderful quiet, rural location but you will need your own transport. Good facilities and lots of room to relax in. Kevin was very helpful and accommodating when we added another guest last minute.

  • A lovely cottage in a peaceful location. Springbrook National Park is about 15 minutes drive and is a must see (at night as well as day). The house has an adequate kitchen (no microwave though) and a seating area with a nice big TV. A HDMI cable made it easy to hook up the laptop for music and films I brought with me. There is also a selection of DVDs. There is a big veranda with table and chairs where we spent a lot of time (note we stayed in winter and very bad weather and it was still lovely). If it had been dryer, we would have spent more time down by the creek. The bedrooms are a decent size and the bathroom large and nice. Good sheets bedding and towels are supplied. If you want peace and privacy this is a good choice but do check with the owner first as there is an 'owners area' which was unused while we were there but would have changed things a lot if it was in use.

  • Great place. Really loved it. Beautiful spot and everything we needed for a peaceful retreat.

    Melanie2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Need a break from the city life? Look no further... this place has everything you need! Quiet tranquility.... beauty... the place itself was great! We had the fire going allot.... only cos we were cold frogs and boy did that make a difference to the trip! Watched some great movies, hung out near creek, talked to cows, it really was a great experience. I highly recommend without reservation. Location was amazing. Saw some really beautiful scenes and enjoyed the difference in the culture even though it's only and 2hrs from Brisbane!

  • This house is in a beautiful setting. A bit of a drive to get to bigger shops which adds to the charm. Kevin was very helpful and gave us lots of privacy. I would highly recommend this house as it is great value for money.

  • Kevin's home was just what I needed for a quiet weekend away in beautiful quiet surroundings to do a writing retreat. Love it, thoroughly recommend for such things - or just for a quiet time in a relatively remote part of northern NSW

    James2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • My kind of place, in a beautiful part of the world, quiet and comfortable with everything we possibly needed including wifi and mobile access which was not in Kevin's description (or maybe I missed it).

  • A fantastic, tranquil get away! Rolling green hills, beautiful space and friendly farm animals. Jon and Rachel were kind and thoughtful - our whole stay was so easy and perfect to get away from hustle and bustle.

    Noni2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice farm stay. Amazing for kids - they get to feed the animals and pick-up fresh eggs in the morning. Lots of space to play around.

    Natacha2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had an enjoyable stay at Rachel and Jon's place. We stayed in the middle of summer after some much needed rain and the area was green and full of life. This also made it extremely humid and there was an abundance of insects but you've got to take the good with the bad. Make sure you pack your insect repellant. It was wonderful to wake up to the sounds of their farm animals and watch them wander around the property. These animals live a charmed existence. The location is perfect for travelling to beaches and charming little towns in the Northern NSW area. Highly recommended.

    Alison2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re planning to stay in the area then look no further than Rachel & Jon’s place. We had a great 3 night stay with our three kids aged 9, 8 and 5. The accommodation is basic but comfortable and charming. A warm welcome awaits you when you arrive, not just from Rachel, John and their boys but from all the animals too. Our kids absolutely loved the freedom of roaming around the farm, interacting with the animals (we rarely saw them without a chicken in their arms), playing in the treehouse, surfing the grass banks, kayaking on the pond and most of all making friends with Rachel & Jon’s kids - we’d loose them for hours at a time. Coming ‘home’ to the farm was always met with more enthusiasm than for going out! It’s a place to truly chill out. We’re already planning our next weekend there!

    Stuart2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful location and lovely hosts. So much for the kids to do and explore and only half an hour to some of Australia’s most beautiful beaches. Friendly animals and a peaceful stay. Would stay again and highly recommend.

    Jess2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great space, plenty for the kids to do

    Michelle2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • The best place we have stayed in. Perfect for kids. If you wrap your children in cotton wool you may struggle with the activities. If you let your kids be kids they will have the time of their lives .

My 3 year old had a blast and she even took some time to let my partner and I to relax in the room, while my daughter played outside with her son! Very nice.

  • My friends and I wanted to hike Mt Warning and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Miriana and all of her guests/house members were friendly and super helpful. The place was clean, had incredible views and was everything we expected. I would highly recommend anyone else who is planning to do Mt Warning or wanting to get away from the city to stay here. The base of the hike is less than 10min drive away.

Set in the stunning Tweed Valley, only 50 minutes from the Gold Coast International Airport. We are located within the Mount Warning caldera on 25 acres, with a natural waterfall, swimming hole, a herd of alpacas, wonderful bird life and wallabies.
Relax in our self contained, 1 bedroom cottage. The one bedroom has a double bed and 1 set of single bunks, with all linen provided. The living area has a TV and kitchen facilities. No wifi is available but there is free wifi at the cafe. Mobile phone coverage is limited. One bar is available in some spots but only if you are with Telstra. The joys of country living! There is a bathroom and an outdoor covered area with a BBQ, outdoor table and seating. Laundry facilities available on request. Ideal for families.
Three minutes walk away is Sphinx Rock Cafe. Such a bonus! They make wonderful food and coffee and have live music on a Sunday afternoon. Opening hours 8.00 to 2.30 daily, but closed on Wednesdays, and open until 7.00 Friday nights for dinner. Free wifi. Next door to the cafe is a general store which has all the basics, including petrol and alcohol.
  • Margot and David’s place is a little corner of paradise. A beautiful and comfortable cottage on an amazing property. We didn’t leave it for our entire stay. Their hospitality is beyond any expectations. We have so much more to write but will just highly recommend any family wanting a beautiful getaway in nature to go there. The private waterfall is stunning and we spent most of our days there. Kids loved wandering around on the property and helping out with the animals. Perfect getaway all around. Thank you!

  • What an amazing place to stay. Friendly and enthusiastic hosts who genuinely care about you having a great time. Animals to interact with, waterfalls and creeks to explore and plenty of local knowledge for day trips. Cabin has everything you need with a few unexpected special touches. Would highly recommend for a weekend get away.

  • We couldn’t believe our good luck when we arrived at Sphinx Rock Alpaca farm. Lovely little cottage with absolutely everything you would need. Met by Margot and David, oh, and Barney the Border Collie, we were given a tour of farm. After meeting the Alpacas we walked down to an amazing waterhole...what a little touch of paradise. Just the relaxing weekend we needed. Thank you so much Margot and David. We can’t wait to come back!

  • It was our second time staying at this beautiful property and have made pact to return every year. It’s just home away from home. Make sure you have food supply as nearest grocery store is 20 odd kms away , couple of good books or something to entertain you as most of the time you won’t have network in your phone. It’s perfect for detaching yourself from day to day life. Good for couple and family with kids too.

    Janki2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay. Our two boys aged 7 and 3yrs old asked to stay longer. So much to see and do, We had great fun. Margot and Dave are so kind. All the small touches in detail were thoughtful and very appreciated. Comfortable and clean. We will sure to be back.

The cottage is situated upon a hill near the end of a quiet cul-de-sac about 1km from Uki village. Surrounding homes (all on 1 acre) are largely hidden from one another. Mount Warning views can be enjoyed from the room itself or from the adjoining verandah. The sunsets are regularly spectacular. Guests often comment that this specific location is magical due to the exceptional natural views (largely lacking buildings), lush vegetation, ideal climate, and tranquillity.
Couples and singles. Sorry, no space for children.
In the village there is a great bakery, a cafe/coffee shop, a supermarket, take-away, newsagent, post office, laundromat, a new hotel where meals are served, and a number of art/craft/artisan furniture shops. Mavi's Kitchen (a local restaurant en route to Mt Warning) is well known for it's amazing food. Every Saturday morning there is a produce market in the village, and the Uki Market is held on the third Sunday of every month. Mount Warning (which many visitors climb) is 15 minutes by car. Tweed Valley Regional Gallery (a major attraction that contains the reconstructed studio of Margaret Olley) is 10km away; on the way, at Stoker's Siding, is a noteworthy pottery shop worth a visit. Clarrie Hall Dam is 1km away, and Crams Farm picnic area (on the other side of the dam) is a great place to enjoy a different view of Mt Warning. The Tweed Coast is about 40 minutes away, with excellent uncrowded beaches (from Kingsciff to Pottsville). If one enjoys nature, mountains, rivers and the sea, the Tweed Valley is the place to be!
  • Lovely accomodation with great views.

This 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom country home on a 13 acre property is the perfect escape for a relaxing getaway. Wake up to breathtaking views of the mountains including Mt Warning, the Pinnacle and the Border Ranges. Enjoy a warm fire, relax on the veranda, explore the beautiful Tyalgum village and soak in the serenity. Have the house all to yourself.
Five bedrooms - 2 queen beds, 2 double beds, a children’s room that sleeps 3 (set of bunk beds and a single)Two of the bedrooms have their own ensuite and the main bathroom has a separate toilet, double vanity and shower and bath for convenience. There are two spacious living areas and a large kitchen.
The gorgeous village of Tyalgum is just down the road with lovely shops, a general store (6am - 6pm) and cafes to enjoy. Tyalgum has a historic pub that serves yummy bistro food. The gelato shop is a must. The closest main town is Murwillumbah. Short day trips would include the Gold Coast beaches, Byron Bay and Bangalow.
  • The place was absolutely immaculate and communication was extremely quick and easy. The view from the balcony is unparalleled and paved the way for relaxation and fun. Enjoyed the stay immensely and would definitely consider going back in the future.

  • Rae’s home was so lovely and rustic - we loved our short stay there! Although old, the house was very clean and well appointed with the necessary furniture. The house faces a vast expense of beautiful mountain and it’s a great respite from the concrete jungle of the city! There’s not much to do around Tyalgum as it’s quite far inland but we did enjoy a trip to the charming Flutterbies cafe nearby - gelato place was closed unfortunately. Rae very generously provided hay for us to feed the horses and we just revelled in the beauty of nature. She provided good quality amenities and was ALWAYS reachable so that’s was a great plus point. It was really hot (over 36 degrees) when we were there and I felt that 1 air con for the house doesn’t suffice but nights were cool enough. Great place to stay and great host!

The yurt was neat and tidy and with plenty of good books and board games on the shelves. The host was great with communication and even the horse was kind and friendly. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

  • Been trying to get through that pile of books by your bed and can't seem to make headway? This is the place! Jesse's place is stunningly quiet and restful. It is very thoughtfully laid out and everything you'll need for a simple few days in nature is there. And the bathroom is off -the-chart fantastic. I loved it.

  • The Yurt is such a beautiful place that feels like home as soon as you arrive. It is peaceful and private and is a lovely place to relax. We loved our stay and would definitely be back!
