This is a tiny room on a steep busy street with no parking. You may have to park 300m away. There is a gravel driveway with difficult access and a big step. There is a young loud family of 4 upstairs with 2 dogs, we are not ninjas. There is another Airbnb next door adjacent to the room. The heat pump is next to the bed and may be noisy. Please note we are in the middle of renovating.
  • Excellent communication and easy check in with lockbox, close to town we walked everywhere, cute apartment and breakfast provided - just what we needed for a short stay in Launceston.

  • Lovely cosy little spot (as the name suggests) in good location

  • Great spot, lovely views, very relaxing and cosy. Thoughtful inclusions for breakfast and meal prep.

  • The place is small but it was all we needed and for the price it was great! The breakfast items were well stocked and the place was very clean. Communication with the hosts was quick and easy. We had a nice stay :)

  • Good little place, clean, cool design, good location and a great host who replies really quick to your messages!

    Luca2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Louis’ space was clean & cozy, complete with stylish decor (love the lights!) and an easily navigable entry. The sweet touch of bacon, eggs, muesli and milk (which we would’ve loved had we not hit the road early to get to the spectacular Freycinet National Park- just 2 hours from Louis’ place) in conjunction with the quick and friendly responses made this a really lovely stay :)

    Freya2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A quite good value considering the location...easy check in when I needed flexibility...quiet, comfortable, affordable, private, and walkable to decent eateries... (Steves at Centenial) and easy parking off street. Enjoyable and entirely worth the journey.

    South Launceston, TAS, Australia

Located in the heart of Tasmania's Central Highlands. Your accommodation is in a modern comfortable residence looking north over Great Lake. Your stay includes a healthy, sustaining breakfast. Enjoy the highlands environment with distant views across Great Lake and changing colours throughout the day.
Our house is located in a bush setting and native animals are often seen nearby. It is a private and peaceful setting.
We are in a peaceful location with good options for lakeside walks to explore the area. Ask Bruce about the fishing. He is an experienced fly angler and has plenty of local knowledge. There are several worthwhile day excursions to fill your day. You could visit an alpine lake with interpretation signs telling you about the unique flora. Visit Tasmania's first hydro power station. See artists sculptures. There is more not too far away
  • My wife and I just stayed the one night, but it was a very comfortable night. Great hosts, love a chat, gave great tips of things not to miss and a lovely breakfast. We’d highly recommend if in the area...

  • A true Bed n Breakfast with personal service. A stunning view and such a lovely part of the country

    Doris2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were warmly welcomed by Bruce and Nalina after a long journey from Hobart. The view of the Lake from their house is spectacular. We were warm and comfortable in the guest bedroom and enjoyed hot showers in the morning followed by a delicious home cooked English breakfast. What we enjoyed most about this stay was the interesting conversations and feeling very welcome.

  • My husband and I had a very comfortable stay at Graham's place. Check in was super easy with clear instructions provided well before we arrived. He was always available to help but gave us privacy as we were on our honeymoon. The place was spotlessly clean clean had everything we could possibly need, from basic essentials like milk in the fridge to even iron and hairdryers in the bathroom. We walked in to see a bottle of wine on the table to celebrate our honeymoon which was a very lovely surprise (thank you). Cheers Paul and Denise

‘Lavender House’ sits happily on the edge of the beautiful Poatina golf course, which sits on the edge of the stunning Great Western Tiers, which overlooks the extensively spectacular valley which almost runs the length of the Island of Tasmania! So quite a treasured location! Poatina is a unique village which is all about its community. Lots to discover here when one asks the locals. A great place to base yourself for exploring the area. Return home to tranquility & peace at Lavender House!
Lavender House is our little country haven. We have furnished it, hoping to make you feel at home, with enough special touches to also make it feel a little bit of a treat.
Poatina is a community of people that love to bring life to each other and those spending time among us. At a time when people are under pressure and society is evidencing fragmentation, we aspire to be a communal example of “living life to the full”. This reflects part of Poatina’s profile and it is a delight to be a part of this unique community - even for a weekend.
  • A great place for a retreat!

    Kelvin2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Kath's place is spacious, comfortable, and sparkling clean. The location is scenic and serene, but not far from a number of interesting tourist attractions and great fishing.

    Jean2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • If peace and quiet is your thing this has it in bucket loads. A great place. Very spacious, clean and well equipped. There is a second shower and toilet which was useful. Beds were really comfortable. Located 2hr from Hobart, 1 hour Launceston, 2 hrs to Cable mountain and near to local fishing lakes and the Highlands area. Has a golf course and local walks. Kath's communication was great and their hosts (Margaret and John) looked after us well. The hamlet has a small shop and petrol station (competitively priced) as well as some other amenities including a cafe but these were closed as it was Christmas. There is a large supermarket at Longford (30 mins) but best to stock up with major items on your way. We had a great few says there and would highly recommend it

  • Lavender House offers the creature comforts of a cozy home in a spectacular natural setting at the entrance to Tasmania's eerily beautiful Central Highlands. Kath and her local hosts maintained clear communications to assure a smooth arrival, and their welcome was very warm. House is sparkling clean, the village is serene and friendly. I am looking forward to my next stay.

    Jean2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Kath has a beautiful house which somehow has an instant homely feel. The house is much larger in person and was more then enough room for our family of 4. The dogs enjoyed the backyard and there was plenty of room for them to run around. The neighbours (and hosts) were amazing, they were available for chats and I’m sure if we had any issues would have been there in a flash. The community itself is lovely, including the local bag piper who seemed to roam the streets each evening at around 5pm, it was quite the treat! Thank you for having us and we look forward to staying in the future.

Glen Stuart Cottage is situated on a working sheep farm. The cottage is self contained and ideal for a couple looking for some peace and quiet. Wake to the sounds of the birds, sit on the deck to watch the beautiful sunsets and as the evening approaches, you might see some of our native animals including wallabies, possums and echidnas. We are only a short 15 minute drive to Launceston Airport, close to the village of Evandale, and a 30 minute drive to Launceston city.
This is a great spot as a base to visit areas in the north of Tasmania, from the winery region on the Tamar River, to the slopes of Ben Lomond. You will need a car to access Glen Stuart Cottage, and if you are arriving in the evening, drive a little slower on our roads as you will see some of our native animals.
  • The peace and tranquility of the wonderful little cottage coupled with a caring host is simply superb, had a fabulous 2 night stay. Bruce & Chris, Adelaide

  • This cottage is a perfect spot if you want to experience a quiet cottage on a Tasmanian farm. It’s unique, clean and comfortable with all the amenities needed to cater for yourself. We loved our overnight stay and although we didn’t see the resident wombat, we did hear the possum on the roof!

    Kim2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carol’s place was wonderful and cosy. The place had all the necessary amenities and it was fun to see the sheep on the farm. Communication was very easy with Carol and we really appreciated the cookies that were left for us. We would love to come back one day

  • Carol's place is ultra cozy and very well equipped. If you are looking for a secluded place with no light pollution with a couple of animals and birds thrown in, then this is it. Clean and tastefully done. Had a good chat with Carol and Allan. Carol also took us around her huge property and showed us her sheep and the shearing process. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and would have loved to spend some more time here.

A cosy waterfront cabin on The Great Lake, Coldwater Cabin is the perfect place for a secluded wilderness escape. Relax on the deck with a glass of wine and watch the light dance across the lake, or curl up inside with a cup of tea and take in the views through the north-facing windows. If what you crave is the connection to wilderness only Tasmania can offer, then Coldwater Cabin is the place for you. Follow our stays and guests on Instagram: @coldwatercabin
Our cabin is an ideal retreat for individuals and couples alike. Every room looks onto to the lake, giving a feeling of constant connection to the Central Highlands outside. The warmth and ambience of a fire will be a highlight of your stay. The kitchen and living spaces contain wood stoves for heating and ample firewood. And, in the bedroom and bathroom, there are smaller electric heaters to keep you toasty when the temperature drops. Even though the cabin is cosy, the weather is often unpredictable ,so make sure to bring warm clothing for extra comfort. If you enjoy cooking, the kitchen has plenty of crockery and utensils, and the deck is the perfect setting for a meal. We stock a basic pantry that includes coffee beans and grinder, tea, salt, pepper, oil, and some dried herbs and vinaigrettes. You’ll need to buy fresh supplies before heading up the mountain. The closest Woolworths is 40 minutes away in Deloraine, and there is a small shop and pub meals available at The Great Lake hotel, if you get caught out. If you feel like spoiling yourself, we highly recommend trying some of the amazing Tasmanian wineries and fresh food suppliers on the drive up to the cabin. Curtains separate the bedroom from the living room, which gives you the option of getting cosy in the evening or waking to an uninterrupted view of sunrise over the lake. The king-sized bed has fresh linen and there are tonnes of woollen blankets for you to use. The bathroom is simple, with a shower and clawfoot bath with lake views. The cabin runs on tank water, so time is of the essence when it comes to showering. The cabin is incredibly special to us. We’ve spent loads of time designing, renovating and curating all the details so that it suits the natural landscape. It’s our very special family space that we want to share with like-minded travellers.
Miena is one of the coldest towns in Australia. It snows more than 60 days each year, including in during January, so you should prepare for any type of weather. Miena is in the bush and also full of wildlife. Wallabies, possums and deer roam the property, a wombat often pops up from underneath the cabin, and an echnida lives in the wood tanks next door. If you're really lucky, you might even spot a Tassie devil nearby. All this fauna makes it really important that you keep your rubbish in the allocated bins during your visit. If you’re into trout fishing, you’ve definitely come to the right place. There are plenty of world-renowned fly fishing lakes in the area. If you’re a walker, Liffey Falls is a 30-minute drive away and Lake St Clair, an hour. There are also a series of shorter walks close by, and plenty of local lakes to explore.

A delightful 1870's Georgian terrace set in the heart of the restaurant district. This heritage feel, stand alone townhouse has a tastefully decorated modern interior, a fully secured, leafy courtyard, three off street car parking spaces. It is located across the road from the Launceston General Hospital and within a gentle stroll to the CBD, and walking distance to Launceston's number one nature attraction, the First Basin and Gorge, as well as Penny Royal World and Seaport Precinct.
Close to hospitals and restaurants, but my favorite café in Launceston is literally straight across the road. Aroma's make the best coffee and snacks, well worth a visit.

  • We loved calling this place home for our stay in Launceston. Beautiful inside and out. Outside there were roses out front and a well-designed courtyard out back (very nice spot for a lazy morning coffee). Inside is a carefully modernised terrace house - with great spaces that suited our family of four. Lovely touches such as quality linen. And the cafe across the road has fantastic coffee. We highly recommend staying here.

Michelle’ s attention to detail, ensures that her guests “ want for nothing” and can totally relax in a unique place , that feels like “ home from home”. We highly recommend it to others and would love to stay again, if ever we are in the area. Michelle is really friendly, helpful and approachable. I read through the visitors book and everyone of her past guests have thoroughly enjoyed their stay, also. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The Wesleyan Chapel is one of the oldest listed airbnb properties in Tasmania! You will be staying in the original Chapel built in 1836. Although the property is designed for couples we do welcome families to stay with us, there is a pull out sofa bed for the kids which makes it a great "value for money" option for families.
What makes Evandale special is its one of the prettiest and best preserved historic towns in Australia. Its Late Georgian and early Victorian buildings house shops and Pubs and it's relatively untouched streetscape offer a unique glimpse into Australia's past, with some buildings dating back to 1809. The Wesleyan Chapel is situated in Russell St, which is the main historic street and is less than 100 metres from the popular Evandale Market with over 100 stalls. Every year Evandale holds the World Penny Farthing Championships, which is something to see! The historic towns around Evandale are also delightful and are full of Historic homesteads and if you are looking to visit the popular Ben Lomond area, Evandale is a great jumping off point.
  • Lovely space and very convenient check in and out. Evandale is a gorgeous little town!

  • You would want for nothing in this little gem. Attention to detail and concideration for their guests needs was obvious. We enjoyed a very comfortable stay. Its location is especially good, with all your wants, just a stones throw away. The bakery cafe is very popular and a must for breakfast, lunch or just coffee and cake.

  • Definitely recommend to stay here. Really nice

  • Very cosy and comfortable. My little dog George enjoyed the fenced backyard in which to play. The password access was easy to do and convenient not having a key to remember. The bed was really comfortable and being a cold night I enjoyed the electric blanket, and extra blanket provided, also the airconditioning. The stove top and oven were handy as I was able to heat a frozen pizza for tea, purchased from the General Store close by. Just about everything I needed was provided by the thoughtful hosts. Many thanks, I did enjoy my stay. The position is so convenient for enjoying this charming village.

  • Wonderful old church right near the middle of Evandale. Very comfy bed - all the amenities we needed. Really enjoyed our stay.

    Helen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • First time staying in a church, a wonderful experience. The room has kitchen facilities for cooking. The location is very close to the airport, the next morning the plane, if driving by car is a good choice. Suitable for two people. The sofa bed is too soft for only one child.

  • This is a beautiful cabin in a fantastic location - easy access to the water's edge with boat launching facilities right across the road. Easy drive to Deloraine, Liffey Falls etc. Looks like it would be fun in the snow with an awesome wood heater to snuggle up by. All the amenities you could need for cooking etc. The cabin was high spec and very clean with a wonderful view. We came further but an easy drive from Hobart. Would definitely recommend. Kylie and Jason were very quick and easy to communicate with too. When we drove up it was 33 degrees, when we left it was 7!! Gotta love Tassie weather!

Not that you will, the unit is comfortable and has everything you can possibly need including a first-aid kit! She leaves clear instructions for everything and is quick to respond always when contacted. We are so glad we chose her place to stay :) A special note - her grandkids are the sweetest. Our son loved playing with them. Will definitely choose to stay with her again if we are lucky to visit Launceston again!

Budget priced double-bed room in a friendly suburban home. Off-street parking, NBN WiFi, bedding, towels, electric blanket, heater, desk & chair. Ingredients for a light breakfast. Suit 1 or 2 people who can appreciate this room in our busy, unique 'cheap & cheerful' family home! Share bathroom, toilet & laundry. Profile pic showing your face required. Please confirm that you AND 2nd guest HAVE read ALL my detailed description (Click on 'Read more about the space') or I'll request you to do so!
The quiet, comfortable Airbnb guest room in my vibrant, busy and unique Peel Street West Launceston family home offers you an economical alternative to being in a backpacker hostel or camping. We are actually cheaper than a tent site at the local caravan park!! My home is welcoming, friendly, cheap & cheerful and, some say, a bit unconventional, quirky and cluttered, and my private areas of it may not be as neat and tidy as your home is! Please DON'T book to stay here if you will find this unacceptable, as I care about my guests, and need to know that their expectations will be met. My many belongings ARE in full view! We are NOT a hotel, you are staying in a room in MY home with no pretense of pristine luxury, and this is reflected in the affordable price I charge for the budget conscious traveller. We are actually cheaper than a tent site at the local caravan park!!! My Airbnb listing is best suited for independent, easy going travelers who appreciate the quirks of my budget-priced, friendly and vibrant place, don't criticise my messy clutter, understand that they will be sharing facilities (inc bathroom) with other residents, and that this is a vibrant and busy family home. We are a busy, vibrant household with people 'on the go' at all times, and WE LIVE HERE TOO!! As well as myself and my 30 year old son (Ariel), a Chinese student (Will) also lives in my home (so Mandarin Chinese as well as English is spoken). Sometimes there is a friend or Helpx helper also staying here! Like most Australian families, we have pets. Two cats, "Kilara" and "George", also live here, but they keep to themselves, and we have some chooks that just roam in the garden. Free NBN WiFi available. My kitchen is NOT part of the Airbnb listing. We are LGBTIQ / Gay Friendly. We are in a safe, quiet suburban neighborhood with off-street parking provided in a designated spot beside my house. As we are on an 'internal block' behind the house facing the street, there is a long gravel driveway to access my property. Please drive slowly and carefully when you enter and leave my driveway, there is a bit of a 'dip' at the street end. Children OK, if sharing your bed. Your room, which also has a separate door opening onto an outdoor verandah area, is bright, quiet, neat, tidy and clean. It is suitable for either a single person or a couple, as there is only one (double) bed in it, and no space to add another. The room has a heater, desk and chair, mirror, cupboards, bedside lights, and a comfortable double bed with an electric blanket and good bedding. Tourist information, reading material, free book exchange, towels and toiletries are also supplied. Ingredients for a light breakfast, use of a small fridge, microwave and tea/coffee/toast making facilities are provided for you in a utility room close to your bedroom. I provide freshly laundered towels and bed linen, and your room is neat, clean and tidy. If you accidentally make a mess in the bathroom or toilet, there are cleaning supplies provided for your use. When booking, please indicate that you, and the 2nd guest (if there is one), HAVE read ALL my detailed description by writing "Yes, I read all your detailed description" or I will request you to do so before I accept your booking. Please let me know the NAMES of ALL guests and make sure you have a clear photo of all guest's faces. I like to know who is arriving to stay with us here! . I don't charge you an extra cleaning fee or bond, to keep my prices low and affordable. There is no en-suite (you will be SHARING the bathroom, toilet and other facilities with all of the other household residents), but my Airbnb room is priced accordingly and I offer guests great value for money for the budget-conscious traveller who appreciates staying in a local family home, and the amenities I make available for them. These include providing ingredients for a light breakfast, fruit, tea and coffee, toiletries, tourist information, reading material and a 'book exchange', as well as laundry facilities on request. You can come and go as you like, and have total privacy in your room, but this IS a vibrant and busy household with visitors visiting and people on the go at all hours... though your bedroom is at the quiet end of the house, with a lock on the door and a key, ensuring privacy when you are in or away from the room. Free NBN WiFi Internet available. All facilities are shared, including toilet, bathroom (with shower and separate bathtub) and laundry (which has a modern washing machine and dryer, plus washing powder, for you to use, as well as an iron and ironing board). A small fridge, with its own little freezer, plus tea/coffee making facilities, a microwave oven, a toaster, sandwich toaster and ingredients (bread, cereals, jams & spreads, fruit, milk, tea and coffee) for a light breakfast are provided for you in the laundry/utility room, next-door to your bedroom, so you can help yourself whenever you like! PLEASE NOTE THE LOCATION! My home is in West Launceston, a suburb about 10 minutes drive from the CBD, and about 20 minutes from the airport, and like most of Launceston, we are on a HILL and the street is STEEP. We are NOT in the CBD, but are an easy, short drive away. PLEASE note that my exact location is pinned on the map with my listing, so before you book check this carefully, so there will be no need for YOU to make a mistake on 'location' and unfairly penalise me for this!! I get VERY upset when I find that guests give me a lower 'star rating' for 'Location' because they made a mistake when they chose to stay here, or didn't bother to find the exact address on the map and complain that we were 'hard to find' or that I didn't give you the correct address. There is a large sign on a tree at my letterbox that the entrance is 'this driveway' and this is also written in Chinese at the bottom of the sign! There is a local bus service, and a bus stop just up the road, but we ARE in the suburbs, not in the city, so there are no shops or restaurants in my immediate neighborhood.. but there are a couple of supermarkets and places to eat a short drive away. I can usually arrange to collect you from central Launceston on request. To get to my home from the airport, there is a taxi (about $45) and shuttle bus service ($25 per person). I can often arrange an airport pick and/or delivery (for $20 per journey each way). My home is number 91A, it is on an INTERNAL BLOCK, access is via the LOWER driveway, DOWN THE HILL from house number 91 and DIRECTLY beside it. I am located BEHIND that house! There is a sign on a tree at the beginning of my long gravel driveway saying "91A Entrance This Driveway". Call or message me if you need more directions.
LOCATION. Please note, I am being extremely accurate about my location... we are in the SUBURBS, not the city! West Launceston is an appealing, safe neighborhood about 10 minutes drive from the CBD and about 20 minutes from the AIRPORT. Like most of Launceston, we are on a HILL. There is a long gravel driveway from the street to my home, which is located on an 'internal block' so is not visible from the street. There is a sign on a tree near my letterbox, saying '.... this driveway....'.

This is a beautifully restored old methodist chapel moved from another country town on to this site in the 1970's. Many hours have been spent on the planning and making this place to stay, a very special experience.
This is a unique opportunity to stay in a building that has very old and modern features. I have created this space to give a relaxed atmosphere. It is quiet, comfortable and restful.
My neighbourhood in a country town is friendly and relaxed. It is quiet and relaxed with a mixture of very old and very new architecture. Walking is a pleasure, which can take you into the village or back into the rural area. There is a racecourse with racehorses training every day, which is a particular favourite for me.
  • The Chapel is well located, clean and a lovely place to stay. Catherine was very accommodating. Would definitely stay again if in area.

His house is lovely, clean & bright, the room was perfect for me & I was lucky to spend some time with his gorgeous dog Sheba & the two pussy cats, Titch & Mimi :) It is a short stroll to the local shops & restaurants. I really enjoyed my time here, even if it was only two nights, I wholeheartedly recommend staying with Keith, he's a good egg :)

We are in the historic and pretty village of Evandale, with beautiful views from your deck across to the Western Tiers. We're 10 minutes drive from the airport and 20 minutes to Launceston. The village has two pubs that serve dinner and a cafe/bakery for breakfast, snacks and lunch. We provide a continental breakfast for your 1st day. We do not have the facilities for cooking meals - just a microwave, toaster and kettle.
The flat has a separate entrance and a deck and is totally private. It is attached to our house, which we share with two small dogs and a special cat, and overlooks our garden, where you may see us gardening (usually weeding it seems). We are interested in sustainable and healthy living, animal welfare and minimising our impact on the environment. We don't use chemical cleaners and provide healthy (but delicious) breakfast food. Two ducks and six chooks live in the garden. Sometimes the dogs are in the garden. All our animals are friendly. If you have a pet that you can be sure will get on peacefully with our lot, we can talk about them staying.
Evandale is a beautiful village in the Northern Midlands of Tasmania, an ideal spot for exploring the coast, hiking in the mountains or just hanging out in Launceston, which is a laid-back and pretty city. Near us (5 mins walk) there is a river that is popular for fishing and kayaking. In the summer months locals picnic on the banks and swim in the river. We have one 'gastro' pub , one local pub, an awesome bakery/cafe, an art gallery, local supermarket, vintage clothes shops, craft and upmarket gift shops and a hairdresser. There is a whiskey distillery near to us that makes beautiful single malts and lots of wineries. Josef Chromy is the nearest. Evandale is the home of the National Penny Farthing Championships, the Tasmanian Chamber Orchestra Festival, the Glover landscape prize and the famous Sunday Market.

This mini house was our trial run in building our main home using passive house principles. It is very cosy in Winter and just a pleasant place to be. We are approx 1 km from the centre of Westbury. The cottage is suitable for a couple, however the extra single bed does enable some flexibility for guests. We charge $20.00 for use of the extra bed. (i.e. f you wish to use both beds, the site requires you to book for 3 people.)
We have been interested in sustainable architecture and design since the 70s and have finally managed to realise our vision of creating an ecologically friendly homestead, using double glazed windows and a German-designed breathable membrane with ducted air system in the walls and ceiling of the buildings to maximise thermal efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint.
The quaint little village of Westbury, centrally located in the Northern Tasmania, is the perfect base from which to explore Launceston, Devonport, the Tamar wineries, Cradle Mountain, the Mole Creek Caves, the Northwest, and, of course our local attractions. •Nestled under the Great Western Tiers, Westbury is a classic Georgian village, surrounded by hedgerows and bursting with old English charm. It was established in the 1820's as a garrison town, and many of these buildings are still in evidence. Today Westbury is a classified historic town with plenty of attractions and charm. These include: •The stately Fitzpatrick’s Inn with its quaint little bar. •The picturesque English style Village Green. •The Westbury Maze and Cafe, a traditional hedge maze with over 1 km of pathways. • Pearn's Steam World, a collection of over 200 examples of historic agricultural machinery. Houses one of the largest collections of working steam engines in the world. •John Temple's Gallery where you will find quality photographs from all over Tasmania. •1840s White House Bakery at the southern end of the Village green. •Anglican Church where there are 13 examples of Nellie Payne’s wood carvings. •A short drive to Carrick where you will find the Copper Art Gallery. Westbury is a 25-min drive (34 km) west of Launceston and 45 min drive to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry sailing from Devonport.
  • Our stay here was absolutely amazing, highly recommended!! The place was modern, clean and fully equipped with everything we needed. The host was friendly, the location was great and the breakfast items and vege basket were a perfect touch.

    Laura2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonder that this little cottage, modern and cozy at the same time, with everything you could dream of finding there to feel at home. Impeccable cleanliness, quality equipment at all levels and an absolutely charming and caring hostess.

  • Fantastic eco cottage with a warm homely vibe. Great middle ground base to explore north and west towards Cradle Mountain. Day trips easily doable and Launceston is close by. Marg is a knowledgeable host and very welcoming. No hesitation to recommend a stay at her place, great experience! Thank you!

    Yuuki2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • The property has everything that we needed for a comfortable stay, clean and very well appointed. The surrounding garden is beautiful with a great variety of flowering plants and wildlife. Marg was a great host, easy to communicate with and very considerate, providing toys for our daughter and fresh berries for us to share. Westbury is a picturesque historic town worth a visit in its own right and we would definitely stay again with Marg.

    Martin2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Marg’s place is the perfect country getaway - quiet, comfortable and peaceful. It was an easy drive from Hobart and Marg gave us really good tips of places to see on the way which made the experience even more enjoyable. Marg left us a beautiful breakfast and in addition to that, she brought us a freshly picked bowl of berries in the afternoon which was to die for. The cottage was sparkling clean and has everything that you need for a comfortable stay including shops nearby if you want to stay in and cook. Highly recommended.

  • Marg and Ian are wonderful hosts, generous and kind. We enjoyed the cosy cottage and the whole property, along with the delicious fruits and vegs from the garden! Highly recommended.

We opted for a small extra payment for breakfast which was delightful. Paula is the prefect host. The Roundhouse is located in a place of spectacular beauty, with views of Quamby Bluff and the Great Western Tiers on all sides. The property is surrounded by World Heritage Rainforest which is a result of the protracted Jackeys Marsh Forest Protests. The fresh air, crystal clear water, abundant wildlife and pristine environment are all environmental values prized by the people of Jackeys Marsh. We would now like to share our unique heritage with the rest of the world.
The Roundhouse is a self-contained home set apart from the other buildings on the property. It gives you the privacy and independence to do your own thing. The interior is warm and comfortable with extensive windows to highlight the amazing views of the mountain valley of Jackeys Marsh. The Roundhouse is full of architectural features. From the handmade stonewall basement, through the curved wooden features of the main floor, to the onion top cupola that caps off the building. It is a truly unique property that continues to create special memories for all who visit. "People respond to the shapes that I make. They enjoy the playfulness and freedom of line, and see the resemblance of natural forms in the designs. They appreciate the skill required to make such shapes from straight timber, following Nature's design rules." Kim Clark - Curved Wood Creations ( search this name to see website.)
Jackeys Marsh has a small community of approximately 80 people scattered throughout the valley. Most of the valley is heavily forested with small farms occupying the clearings. Because Jackeys Marsh is off the state energy grid, it attracts those who seek an alternative and more independent lifestyle.

I'm not likely to be at the property when you arrive - the property is equipped with a lock box so you can check in at your leisure any time after 2pm. Lock box codes will be sent in a message to you, on the day of your arrival.
This large modern family home is freshly renovated, three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, two separate living areas. You'll have more than enough space to relax and soak in the views. House is sunny and warm with lots of north west facing windows to take in the views of The Country Club Casino and the Italian Football Club grounds. Large open plan kitchen, linking seemlessly to the dining, entertaining and living areas.
This large and modern home is located in a quiet neighbourhood. The free-standing house is situated at the end of a cul-de-sac. Views of The Country Club golf course, Italian Football Club grounds and the local kids playground. Peacocks are often seen roaming the streets freely, as well as Kangaroos and lots more timid wildlife.
  • Beautiful home. Host was good to deal with. Easily accessible. Enjoyed our stay

  • Lively home, spacious, clean and in a great position. Access to Amanda was easy.

    Stephanie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This home is great for a family or adult friends holiday together. It’s capacious, clean and has great outdoor facilities too. The location near the casino and golf course, is great and it’s only 15 minutes to the city centre. We relaxed on the theatre style recliners and watched Netflix. Kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and Amanda supplied eggs, bread and milk plus a few other staples in the pantry. Amanda was excellent to deal with- responded quickly and flexibly. Much appreciated.

A great value room, close to the city. Looking forward to having you. This is a small room on a steep busy street with no parking. You may have to park 300m away. There is a gravel driveway with difficult access and a big step. We are a young loud happy family of 4 upstairs with 2 dogs, but we are not ninjas. There is another Airbnb next door adjacent to the room. The heat pump is next to the bed and may be noisy. Please note we are in the middle of renovating.
Quirky and tidy minimal space, great budget accommodation. Can sleep 2 comfortably, and a port-a-cot with baby. You have your own bathroom. Separate access. You will get a unique key box code to enter the room with. NBN wifi available, minimal kitchenette facilities, microwave, hotplate, toaster, kettle, Crisp white sheets, towels, amenities, and a comfortable bed. Walk 20min into town, less to the supermarket, cafes and bars. There is steep hills though. Bus stop 500m away every 30min. Please keep the noise down after 10pm as it may disturb other guests. Eg. TV noise.
Walk into town, the supermarket, or cafes and bars. There is a few MOLE hills so make sure you don't mind getting the old heart rate up.
