Places to stay in Pine Plains
A bright, serene space with reclaimed fixtures and hidden nooks throughout, the barn is surrounded by wildlife-filled fields. We are easy drives to quaint towns, hikes and art in all directions. Please read the entire description & rules before booking. Our base rate is for 2. A game room in the lower level will be available 5/1 (ping pong, fussball and more!). The barn is perfect for work stays as well. 28+day stays currently desired but will consider weekly stays. Hope to hear from you!
Full of light and divisions created by old window sashes, the space holds an open feeling while still harboring hidden nooks for curling up with a good book. The big windows face an upward sloping meadow, a veritable bird sanctuary much of the year. The interior is serene with a cozy fireplace for winter. The space encourages both reflection and community. Note on number of guests: We state 6 as a maximum. This has worked for families with children or tight knit groups of friends & relatives. Less tight knit groups should study the space carefully and understand the barn has only two bedrooms, and the upper bedroom interacts somewhat freely with entire upstairs space. We encourage those seeking to accommodate 7 or 8 to see if the farmhouse suite is available (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2822915). Feel free to ask us more questions about the space! • Please also note that a suite in our house (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/2822915) may be rented out at the same time but is sited away from the barn maintaining privacy for all. • SAME DAY BOOKINGS: Please contact us first to make sure we can have the space available on time. • WEEKENDS: If booking on a weekend, please book both Friday and Saturday - thanks! • We charge 10$/night/per dog - welcoming dogs who are well-behaved and taken care of. Please let us know in advance of booking about dog(s) that they are well behaved, a short description, and please also note additional requirements for dogs in the house rules. Thanks!
The barn & home is in bucolic Columbia County, in the Hudson River Valley where there's a unparalleled foodie culture. The breathtaking views of Stissing Mountain are 7 minutes away, as is Thompson Pond. 7 or 8 hip/quaint little towns can be reached in 5 to 25 minutes.
  • Molly and Gregg’s home is a cozy oasis. We booked last minute, and Gregg was so accommodating. We arrived late at night and found the space lit and warm from a fire Gregg had made for us. The space itself is quite beautiful— there are a number of cozy nooks and thoughtful details, including fresh milk and eggs in the fridge. We hope to be back soon. Thank you for an incredible stay!

  • What a beautiful space and a peaceful property. Gregg greeted us when we arrived, introduced us to his gorgeous home and was super helpful with fun recommendations for adventures & restaurants in the area. This barn is truly special - we enjoyed a super cozy, relaxing stay. I would return in a heartbeat.

    Keenan2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Molly & Gregg's barn is the most magical place you've ever visited. It is totally unique and you'll have to drag yourself out of it to explore, it feels too beautiful and cozy to leave! The space is quite open, so you need to be sure you're ok without huge privacy from whoever you are traveling with, but for us it was perfect. The barn is right next to Molly & Gregg's house but feels totally isolated, with most of the windows facing a beautiful meadow and trees away from their house. This place is unreal, the details are gorgeous, thoughtful and unique. It's not an ikea setup, its definitely an artists creation. We can't wait to visit again. Don't hesitate to stay here!

This 1968 a-frame cabin, situated on 6 acres of untouched land, is perfect for anyone seeking a serene escape to the Hudson Valley. Floor-to-ceiling windows grant an idyllic view of the lush outdoors, all from the comfort of a meticulously furnished mid-century gem. The home reflects the owner's (Brooklyn-based designers) love for art and design, being filled with vintage Danish furniture and one-off pieces from their travels around the world. Cozy up by the fire in the winter, and enjoy the outdoors in the summer, all within minutes of Rhinebeck & other great attractions. @hudsonvalleyaframe
Our Hudson Valley home is our getaway from the rush of big-city life in Brooklyn - and we've set it up to be an amazing place to relax, decompress and have fun. Here are some details about the home, property, and things to do while staying: The 6-acre property: When we were looking at properties, I initially wanted a farmhouse in the middle of a large field. The idea of the woods made me nervous as a city dweller, but my mind changed the instant I saw this house and the land that surrounds it. Immediately around the house, there is a large lawn with lawn chairs and a fire ring. It’s big enough for games like frisbee or bocce or running around with kids. Just beyond that there is an additional 5+ acres or untouched but sparse forest land. The trees are quite tall but only have a canopy at the top, so it feels like an open, quiet, and beautiful yard, not a dark, dense, creepy forest. The land is flat and easy to walk – something we highly recommend. You’ll definitely see a variety of birds, squirrels, and chipmunks, and occasionally deer and wild turkeys will traipse through. The home itself: The kitchen is recently renovated with all new stainless steel appliances and comes stocked with all of the pots, pans and cooking utensils you’ll need to make a nice meal. It’s large, thoughtfully designed, and super functional. We love to cook and know the value of a great kitchen. It also has a breakfast table set for two and just off the kitchen there is a covered deck perfect for drinking a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper. Next to the kitchen is the den flanked on two sides by large windows, furnished with an extremely comfortable couch, desk for working, and a TV and DVD player for relaxing. We wind up here at the end of every night, working our way through the entire 007 catalog. The den leads into the living room, which we consider the show piece of the house and one of the main reasons we purchased it. The floor-to-ceiling windows that flank the A-frame roof are stunning, letting in a ton of light and allowing you to see all of the nature that brought you to the Hudson Valley. The room is large and open, housing our handmade (by my husband) walnut dining table set for 6, wood-burning stove, couches, and stereo. It’s set up as an amazing place to play a board game, read a book, have a glass of wine with friends, or stare out into nature. It’s our favorite room in the house and we’re sure it will be yours as well. In the middle of the wall of windows, you’ll find a sliding glass door that opens out onto the largest deck of the house furnished with a large wooden table and benches and a brand-new gas grill for memorable summer meals. Off the living room you’ll find the bedroom with en suite bathroom. There is a comfortable full-sized bed with brand new feather comforter, pillows and sheets. The room has a linen closet that houses all of the backup sheets and towels as well as a blow-up mattress that can easily be set up in the den, as well as a large closet stocked with plenty of hangers. This room is painted a beautiful deep blue and houses an amazing mid-century chandelier that we brought back from our travels to Portugal. The room has a large window as well as a sliding glass door that takes you out to a small deck and the outside. It’s super peaceful especially because it faces west so it doesn’t get a ton of direct sunlight to wake you up in the morning. The en suite bathroom is split by the hallway with a toilet and sink on one side and tub and shower on the other, which makes it easy for someone to shower while another gets ready. Heading upstairs, you’ll find the classic A-frame loft, which we have transformed into a large open bedroom. This room is equipped with a large queen-sized platform bed centered in front of a wall of windows, and flanked by side tables with two mid-century globe lights (also brought back from our Portugal trips). There is a small desk in case you need to fire off some emails, as well as a luggage rack, and an authentic Morris chair. Across from the bed you’ll find a well-apportioned half bath with pocket door, toilet, large mirrored medicine cabinet, and marble countertop. Around the corner you’ll find a large bookcase stocked with books, magazines and a DVD collection as well as a full drum set (my husband’s). Back downstairs next to the front door, there is another full bath, that is currently being renovated, so it’s not available yet but will be completed soon. Continuing down another set of stairs, you’ll find a small laundry room stocked with soap, bleach, stain stick and dryer sheets for your laundry needs.
Located in the town of Milan, and a short drive from the village of Red Hook and Rhinebeck. The area is immersed in nature and countryside, surrounded by working farms where you can pick apples, pumpkins, blueberries, cherries, and plums, depending on the time of year. As an AirBnb Plus property, our listing is only able to show photos taken by the Airbnb staff, so there are not many photos of the outdoors, or surrounding areas. Please visit our instagram account for more! @hudsonvalleyaframe
  • A beautiful, classic mid century a-frame on a lot of gorgeous land. Super relaxing and very comfortable. The beds and bedding were great. Loved the CO Bigelow products in the bathrooms. Probably wise to bring eye masks since the morning sunlight floods both bedrooms.

  • We had a wonderful stay in Brenna's house. The house is beautifully designed, furnished with lots of love and everything you need is there. We spent a lot of time in the beautiful living room by the fireplace or are outside behind the veranda in the forest / garden. We really enjoyed the time. The next town is about 15 minutes by car (Red Hook), where you can get everything you need. Red Hook and Rhinebeck (small, sweet colonial-style place, we really liked it) have some nice restaurants / cafes and Brenna provided us with great tips. Communication with Brenna went really well. We would definitely go back.

    Eva-Maria2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • A great escape from New York City! Brenna's house is beautiful, comfortable, clean and relaxing. We had everything we needed, and especially loved the fireplace and record player (with endless Beatles albums!). We felt right at home! Communication was timely and comprehensive. The house is about 15 mins away from Rhinebeck, with plenty of great restaurants, shops and the Mirbeau Spa. I highly recommend this house for a peaceful weekend getaway!

    Maya2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The house was lovely and a great landing pad for checking out nearby towns of Rhinebeck, Red Hook and Tivoli. Wish we had had better weather for our winter stay (it rained a good bit) but we managed to make s’mores with our kids in the fire pit, loved cozying up by the wood burning stove and our final morning woke up to sparkling sunlight coming through the surrounding woods! Wish we’d had another day to explore!

    Courtade2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was genuinely beautiful and fun to live in

    Tim2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Brenna’s place was a perfect secluded getaway away from the hustle and bustle of the city area. It was the perfect recipe for a amazing Valentine’s Day for me and my girlfriend. Check in was super simple. We stayed in, got the wood burning stove going, and cooked some delicious home made food in the spacious and perfectly styled kitchen. The decor was lovely and suited the place perfectly. It made for a very special weekend! Btw the drum set was the icing on The cake! Thanks so much Brenna and I hope to stay again in the future! Cheers!

    Scott2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Brenna’s place upstate. It was a lovely weekend spent out of the city. You can tell right away that this house was styled with love, and there was thought put into every detail to make guests feel comfortable. We appreciated all of the amenities available to us especially in the kitchen with everything you need to make a nice meal. The highlights for us was having the 6 acres of land to roam around, and enjoy nature, peace and quiet. And we loved the wood burning stove! It was so cozy and relaxing to hang out in the main room, listen to music, and enjoy the cool vibe of this house. Already planning to go back!

    Kimberly2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for a team building activity. All of us loved our stay here. The place is smart yet cozy and comfortable and, of course, clean. Great location as well. The space outdoor was beautiful even in the winter. The instruction book was very thorough and super helpful and communication with the Daniel prior to our stay was so friendly and seamless. Our stay was very relaxing. Will definitely be back!

  • Such a cozy warm place. We loved the eat in kitchen style. The kitchen table was very stylish, reminiscent of the 50s I think. Plenty of notes around the home to help you figure things out. We found this very useful. The back deck was so nice with a picnic table and bistro set. Unfortunately its too cold at this time of year to sit on the deck. You can see the river and spillway from the huge living room window. I found myself staring out the window for long periods of time. Got to see some deer and birds which was a treat for my dog as well. Beds are comfortable and a good size. Bathroom has lots of space and has the washer and dryer in it. We will definitely be back in the warmer weather to take advantage of hanging by the river.

  • My dog and I visited Mary’s beautiful farm this weekend and had a lovely time. It was quiet and clean, the bed was very comfortable. The land is gorgeous and my dog loved running free (we were visiting from the city). Mary was friendly and communicative. The space is near Red Hook and Rhinebeck, and about 30 minutes from Hudson, if you have a car and want to explore. I would recommend this space!

    Megan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Mary's place is charming, clean, and perfectly situated on a quiet farm with great views. The space is open and generous with a good array of amenities. We were only able to stay for one night, but I could easily imagine myself staying for longer!

    Jennifer2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place for a getaway with friends!

  • Mary's Nook is a perfect hideaway space to spend some time. It is well appointed and thoughtful in every way.

    Mariette2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend away from the city thanks to Mary. The Nook is stylishly decorated, with an indoor fireplace and a huge, comfy bed. Spectacular views of the valley and great restaurant in Stissing House. Highly recommend

    Richard2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • I kind of love that the photos don't do Mary's barn/the Nook justice! I don't think photos could. It faces beautiful rolling hills and is the perfect setup for a cozy weekend getaway, especially with your partner or solo. You'll wake up to great sunlight and the sound of cows in the distance. The town of Pine Plains is also very close by. We loved our dinner at the Stissing House and spent a long time in a small bookstore called New Leaf.

    Estee2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, you will see A Million Dollar Landscape from the windows. It was so very very quiet with just the Gorgeous Japanese Cows Moo-Mooing. And oh my, my Ella, my 80 pound Boxer-Mix got to roam the fields in front, play Frisbee, and slug by the wood burning stove. If you are looking for R&R, beauty, quiet, stars at nite, romance, and no rah-rah, then please do come here. The place feels spacious because of the Catherdral Ceiling. We were the only ones on the property, and you are talking about 700 acres. The property also as adjacent huge house that was empty.

Larry’s home is located just outside Pine Plains, New York, United States. The cabin is surrounded by woods and well back from the road in a very rural setting, yet just five minutes from town where you will find a full market, a pharmacy, a liquor store, two breakfast cafes, a pizza restaurant & a Mexican restaurant—both very good for takeout—and two very good restaurants: Lia's Mountain View and the Stissing House--all within 2 miles or less. A twenty-five minute drive to the west brings you to Rhinebeck; the same distance south goes to Millbrook, and fifteen minutes to the east is Millerton, with Salisbury, CT just beyond--all very nice towns with lots of antiques, shops (including Oblong Books, located in both Rhinebeck and Millerton), excellent restaurants and other attractions including Upstate Films, the Beekman Arms, and the Aerodrome in Rhinebeck, and the Hudson Valley Rail Trail and The Movie House in Millerton. Drive in any direction and you're in horse country, with rolling hills, running streams, and deep woods that delight the eye and calm the soul. There is terrific hiking in the area, from Thompson Pond and Stissing Mountain (which you can see from the cabin) just 3 miles away—perhaps you've seen the diorama at the American Museum of Natural History in NY—to the Taconic trails above Millerton (wild blueberries galore atop Brace Mountain!), and the Catskill Mountains, less than an hour awayto the west. The Hudson Valley Rail Trail with access in Millerton, is a great place for bicycling. For a more sedentary yet fun activity, you can watch polo being played at the Mashomack Polo Club just south of Pine Plains. For hot summer days, there is an excellent swimming hole just a few miles away. Directions and trail maps are among the information provided at the cabin. Also good for swimming are Ore Pit Pond, Lake Taconnic, and Rudd Pond, all under a 1/2 hour from the cabin. The Catamount Ski area is also an outdoor recreational area with zip-lining and other activities during the warm months. If you like live music, there are several excellent venues in the area: Bard College (30 minutes); Helsinki Hudson, (30 minutes); Infinity Hall, Norfolk, CT (40 minutes); Daryl's House, Pawling, NY (50 minutes); Bearsville Theater and Levon Helm Studio, Woodstock, NY (55 minutes); Tanglewood, Lenox, MA: (60 minutes); Towne Crier Cafe, Beacon, NY (60 minutes) A half hour’s drive brings you to the Olana Historic Site, home of Frederick Church, in Hudson, NY, and to the Thomas Cole House in Catskill, just over the river from Hudson. Along the Hudson River to the south near Rhinebeck you might visit Montgomery Place, Poets’ Walk, Wilderstein, and Mills Mansion. Further south along the river you will come to the Roosevelt and Vanderbilt estates in Hyde Park. There are excellent farmers' markets in Rhinebeck and Millerton. For fresh produce I recommend Duncan's Farm Stand in Ancramdale, NY (directions provided ). I also recommend the Chaseholm Farm for fresh meat and milk, the famous Ronnybrook Farm for their yogurt, and the splendid Hillrock Distillery, maker of fine whiskeys; these last three are all within three miles of the cabin. If you like to go out for breakfast or lunch, I recommend The Pine Plains Platter in Pine Plains, The Farmer's Wife in Ancramdale, and the Oakhurst diner in Millerton. There are also plenty of great places to eat in Rhinebeck and Red Hook. For groceries, I recommend Peck's Market in Pine Plains, Hannaford and Tops in Rhinebeck, Freshtown in Amenia, and LaBonne’s Market in Salisbury, CT. Distances from the cabin: Pine Plains: 1.5 miles Mashomack Polo Club: 3 miles Ancramdale: 4 miles Millerton: 9 miles Hudson Valley Rail Trail: 9 miles Amenia, NY: 15 miles Omega Institute: 15 miles Salisbury, CT: 16 miles Rhinebeck: 16 miles Rhinecliff: 19 miles Bard College: 18 miles Catamount Ski and Recreational Area: 20 miles Hudson, NY: 22 miles Kingston, NY: 25 miles Hyde Park: 28 miles Great Barrington, MA: 28 miles Hudson River Walkway: 29 miles Culinary Institute of America: 29 miles Marist College: 29 miles Vassar College: 30 miles Woodstock, NY: 32 miles Albany, NY: 62 miles West Point: 67 miles Midtown Manhattan: 100 miles Boston, MA: 180 miles
  • Comfort, hospitality, a nice big kitchen, an awesome house heater called a pellet stove, wonderful amenities, and an all-around good time!

    Kristen2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Way beyond my expectations. My whole family was super happy to see it was an authentic log cabin and 10x more when we left. The house is setup in a way that everything is already setup for you without having to worry about running to a store (other than for food). Super cozy on cold days. Thank you!

  • Larry's place was incredible. Not only was it super clean and accessible, it had all sorts of little touches we loved like the fireplace, big kitchen, access to hikes, etc. We'd love to come back!

    Jp2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • My daughter, dog and I stayed in the cabin for a long weekend. The setting was beautiful and the cabin looked exactly as it did in the pictures. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed hanging out in the backyard, hiking in nearby state parks and watching the chipmunk from the kitchen windows. This is a perfect location if you’re looking to enjoy the turning of the leaves. We would stay here again.

    Elizabeth2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Larry is a wonderful host and his cosy log cabin home is ideally situated. The views you will wake up to in the morning are beautiful and you will feel the peace surround you as soon as you arrive. There are games and an amazing collection of books to enjoy, plus you can listen to music and disconnect from your daily grind. This was the perfect weekend getaway for our family - thank you!

    Emily2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Larry is a pleasure to deal with very responsive . His place is fabulous very clean and is the way it looks in the pictures . He is very helpful with finding things to do in the area I would highly recommend his place.

    Lisa2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Larry’s cabin is absolutely wonderful. Situated on a slight hill, the location is beautiful and tranquil, the woods opening up around the cabin to frame a far off mountain. The cabin itself is a wonder. Perfectly cozy and clean. The kitchen is exceptionally equipped, which is crucial to me, as cooking involved meals is a highlight of any AirBnB getaway. The cabin is also teeming with books of all sorts. My family spent much of our downtime perusing a diverse array of volumes. Larry was very communicative and hospitable. I hope to visit this pleasant place again some day!

    Justin2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cabin on a nice property that we found exactly as described. Beautiful property, comfy bedrooms and living room, and a spacious, fully-stocked kitchen with gas. We were happy to stay here for a weekend retreat away from the internet and our phones. Larry was a very gracious host with lots of knowledge of the area. We hope to stay here again in the future!

This is a private suite, with your own entrance to come and go as you please. The suite, in a 219 yr old eyebrow colonial, consists of one large living room with small kitchenette, decorated with mid-century modern furniture and an old farmhouse table & chairs. A separate bedroom offers a quiet night's sleep, while the full bath is highlighted with a hot steam shower option.
White walls, lots of light, original art, books galore and internet access. What more do you need? Oh, yes, a fridge and a coffeemaker.
There is a unique creative, bespoke, and food culture growing exponentially in the valley. We are within minutes to much of it. In the outdoors: 7 minutes to Stissing Mountain hike and it’s breathtaking views, 7 to the serene walk around The Nature Conservancy’s Thompson Pond, 12 to the Audubon’s Buttercup Farm Sanctuary, and 22 to Bash Bish Falls, the highest single-drop waterfall in MA. There you can also find fantastic quarry swimming and a sweet kid's swim area cut out of the outflowing stream. Closer to us, swim at the beautiful beach at Stissing Lake with the mountain backdrop. Swimming holes can also be found in the Roeliff Jansen Kille, minutes from us. Kayak and row boat rental can be had at Lake Taghkanic State Park. And don’t forget berry picking! Thompson Finch in Ancram and Grieg Farms in Red Hook are two great choices. Great farmer's markets are in every town: Rhinebeck's on Sunday and Copake-Hillsdale's on Saturday are recommended. In Pine Plains, you won’t find a more cozy old inn with good food than at the Stissing House. Another Fork in the Road in Milan is quieter but always amazing. We are 15 minutes to Red Hook with terrific dining at Mercato or Modern Taco. Hudson (22 minutes from us) is overflowing with gastronomic surprises, antiques, and eclectic shops, while Rhinebeck (17 minutes) has superb options itself. Gaskins in Germantown and The Corner in Tivoli are also highly recommended. Millerton (20min), Millbrook (25min), Salisbury, CT (27min), and Chatham, NY (30min) are also charming and within reach. Good to great coffee shops exist in all the small towns including the Pine Plains Platter, Murray’s or Tivoli Bakery in Tivoli, Cafe La Perche in Hudson, The Farmer’s Wife in Ancramdale, Red Devon in Stanfordville, and Irving Farm in Millerton. World class art can be found at the Hessel Museum at Bard College, Art OMI’s outdoor sculpture park, and the Wassaic Project in Wassaic (always something interesting happening). Basilica, Time & Space Ltd, and the Hudson Opera House in Hudson also always have interesting happenings. If staying longer, Mass MOCA in North Adams, MA (1:15min away) is our favorite day trip and may want to be considered. Regular and alternative movie theaters exist in Rhinebeck, Hudson, Red Hook and Millerton. Historical sites include the FDR Library, Eleanor Roosevelt’s Val-Kill, Frederick Church’s Olana in Hudson, Thomas Cole House in Catskill, Livingston’s Clermont Manor, Montgomery Place in Red Hook, Mills Mansion in Staatsburg, and the Vanderbilt House in Hyde Park. In Winter you can ski at Catamount (35min) or Buttnernut in Great Barrington (50min). Cross country at Copake Country Club (reportedly has groomed trails and rentals available) or Art OMI, Olana and Clermont Mansion, also reportedly having trails. Sledding at Burger Hill is also a big hit with the kids. Columbia County Tourism, Rural Intelligence and Chronogram also have great online resources for ideas. Any other specific questions, please ask! The guidebook at our other listing has even more of our favorites: https://www.airbnb.com/things-to-do/rooms/8425020
  • My stay was amazing, thank you Molly & Gregg!

    Nick2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you like vintage furniture, an abundance of books to read, and cozy quiet time, Molly and Gregg's is the place to be. The property is beautiful and within roughly 20 minutes of Red Hook and Rhinebeck- two cute small towns with a lot of history and good eating spots. The property is also 40 minutes from Kingston, NY which has a beautiful historic district with Revolutionary War-era buildings. If you are looking for a quiet weekend away, Molly and Gregg's is the ideal place! I personally didn't want to leave.

    Zachary2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Molly and Gregg’s home is a fantastic get away! Nicely decorated, great artwork, a fun collection of books and very comfortable. We had a great time. And Gregg was a very warm and helpful host. We would highly recommend!

    Jim2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Molly and Greggs. They were so hospitable, and the apartment was adorable, extremely spacious and sparkling clean. We would definitely go back!

    Abigail2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is as beautiful as the photos and sparkling clean. We absolutely loved the tranquility of the space and found the location to be perfect for traveling to various little towns. We could have sat and read for hours. Truly a dream for any writer or creative who needs to unplug. Can’t wait to go back.

    Amber2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • An introvert’s paradise. This little home is so inviting and cozy; we got snowed in our first day here and it was wonderful, plenty of books to read and the apartment itself is so interesting. Even though it’s attached to the host’s home it feels private and pretty quiet. It was close enough to surrounding towns and the hosts had lots of great suggestions. Little details like organic tea, a steam shower, and the hosts attentiveness to clear out the snow made our stay so relaxing. What’re you waiting for? Book this place!

    Melissa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This is low key, relaxed accommodation with an absolutely fantastic library filled with books about photography and art, poetry and fiction. A cozy place to stay with a wonderful steam shower. And great hosts!

Quaint cozy cabin located in the Hudson Valley, approx 90 miles north of NYC on our 11 acre property on a 125 acre lake at the base of Stissing Mountain. We use the main house many weekends ourselves and the guest cabin (see photo located down the driveway from the main house walking distance to the lake) is also available for rent! We are selective about who and how long we rent the property (not more than 90 days per year).
Stissing Lake is a gorgeous swimming lake. You can swim from the dock into the open waters to the swimming platform which is shared with the main house. Since we do have vegetable garden, flower garden and a dozen chickens from time to time, we have learned from past experience it might not be for guests with severe allergies.
Stissing Lake offers an ideal place to relax, lots of room to roam and indulge in the magic of nature. Enjoy spring blossoms, summer fun in the water or the gorgeous fall foliage. Hike Stissing Mountain, picnic on the lawn, kayak or paddle boat around Stissing Lake, swim without the distraction of motorized boats, fish for Bass, watch the swans and turtles on the lake or birdwatch at Thomson Nature Preserve. Hudson Valley is home to artisan distillers, breweries, dairies, farmers markets, historic mansion tours, horseback riding, antiquing, and much more!
  • This place is a gem! If you are looking for an affordable get-away, this is such a value! BEAUTIFUL property with lake and lots of trees. Cute paths nearby for walks, grocery store in a cute old center of town. Sweet hosts left us a lovely bottle of wine, and were very quick to respond to all of our needs. There was a storm around our stay, and internet was out for one of our nights. Luckily they fixed the issue the next day and the internet quality is strong. Wish we could hav stayed here longer, and I hope to come back here again!

    Eireann2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property with many things to do. Very cosy and cute cottage with a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed our time canoeing, hiking some nearby trails and checking out the local food scene. Highly recommend this place.

    Allanah2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Comfy cozy retreat for a couple or two. This is a hundred plus year old building so the updating reflects that. We stayed in winter so the heat is electric baseboard and very warm with feather comforters on the beds. There are space heaters too if you like it toasty in the bathrooms. We found the countryside lovely and the little towns charming. Antoinette is a super hostess and ready with help or answers.

    Susan2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great place & view!

    Anna2018-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • Antoinette is a great host. She is super communicative and very helpful. We greatly appreciated her flexibility and friendliness. The house is cozy and has some charming details. Truth is that we didn’t spend much time in the house because the lake and property were so beautiful that we spent every moment possible outside! There was also a wonderful fire pit (wood was provide, thank you!), boats, canous, and fishing poles! Our son was so happy and didn’t want to leave. The kitchen was well stocked with pots and pans and cooking gear. The house is also very close to the center of town where there is everything you need at the local grocery store! This house was a great bang for the buck! Thanks Antoinette!

    Sari2018-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • My wife, daughter, and I had a great time at Antoinette's guest cabin. It's a large, peaceful property right on a lake. The guest cabin itself was clean, comfortable, and had a fully equipped kitchen in which we were able to prepare most of our meals. The property is conveniently located a short drive from towns like Red Hook and Millerton. Taconic State Park and Lake Taghkanic State Park are also nearby and were a big hit with our daughter.

    Benjamin2018-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to relax. I wish we had more time to enjoy the campfire set up for us. Everything was exactly what advertised. Plenty of opportunity to relax for a few days.

    Nikki2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommended. Everything is perfect here. The house, the yard, the dock, the bikes, everything was spectacular. It all comes along with 5 star hospitality.

  • This house is great! The owners are quick to respond and very welcoming. The house was well equipped with most everything we needed, except food. Made it a very easy place to stay. There are a few nice gathering areas in the house, which our group of 6 loved spending time in. We had more than enough bedroom space. The lake view and surrounding area is beautiful.

    Barbara2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The home is awesome! Even more so than we expected, the location was great as we had a wedding in Rhinebeck. There was more than enough room for the 7 of us and has great outdoor space! Beautiful view of the lake!

And there are many thought details in the house like guest book, games and decorations. The place is located right next to a lake and we really enjoy the view. Would want to stay here again if we visit the same areas in future!

  • Jen and Nathan’s home is lovely, charming, and very clean. Simple touches, thoughtful details, and ample supplies for day to day needs make staying here a joy. We were greeted after a long drive in my tiny car by a fantastic bottle of wine waiting for us. The sheets and towels are soft, the beds are comfortable, and the kitchen and bathrooms are both clean and functional. The loft upstairs is the perfect place to spend a sunny and cold winter day. The house is just off the Taconic which is very convenient for those unfamiliar with driving in the area; however it is about 20 minutes from the center of Red Hook and about 30 from Hudson. No matter, driving in any direction over any distance in Dutchess or Columbia county is beautiful and relaxing. Just watch out for deer at dusk! We will come back if we can!

    Judd2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, well designed, comfortable, etc. Right off the Taconic which is really convenient.

  • This is a true treasure. First off the warm welcome was appreciated. The hideaway was so clean. Stephanie has thought of all of the little details to make a visitor feel at home. The views were beautiful and there is so much to do in the area. One weekend is not enough to explore the area. We will certainly visit again.

    Teresa2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

  • This was our second visit to Harley's Hideaway and it's always a pleasure to return. Stephanie responds quickly and makes her place so inviting and relaxing. There is everything you need to wind down, chill, make meals, watch a movie or just enjoy the beautiful surroundings on the balcony. It's a great base to explore the area and find new ways to make an adventure. We will be back!! Oh, and she makes incredibly delicious cookies!!

Willow Vale House is a rustic, charming, and serene Eyebrow Colonial farmhouse, located on an idyllic country road in beautiful Dutchess County. Just two hours from New York City and 35 minutes to the town of Hudson, Willow Vale House is the perfect weekend getaway in the Hudson Valley. During the current pandemic we are only accepting longer term (2+ weeks) stays to reduce the flow of people through the house.
Willow Vale House is the perfect destination for exploring the Hudson Valley in all four seasons of the year. Originally constructed in 1763, built out circa 1850, and recently renovated in early 2018, today Willow Vale House is a tasteful blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. The house spans two-thousand spacious square feet. Upstairs there are two simply decorated bedrooms, each with a with a queen-sized bed. (A third bedroom is currently not available for guest use) The downstairs space is ideal for socializing over food and wine. The living room, centered around an original fireplace (unfortunately not currently in working order), is a perfect space to spend an afternoon with a good book, a late evening nightcap, or a good movie on our 49" TV. Our spacious, open, and fully-equipped chef's kitchen and dining room is built around a Bertazonni gas range, with cherry butcher-block countertops. The rustic farmhouse dining table seats up to 8, ideal for cozy dinner parties or late night board games. If you’re looking for an upstate culinary experience, this is the place for you. The house is on one acre which includes a grassy backyard complete with a fire pit, perfect for late night stargazing. Across the country lane and just down the embankment you’ll find Shekomeko creek, which loops around a forested 6 acres of property, great for an afternoon hike. In the Summertime, the creek is fairly low and easy to cross, and we’re told it’s home to several types of trout. The rest of the year, the water is often bit higher. The back porch is also meshed in for those less adventurous, and has a large farmhouse table for outdoor dining. We also have a brand new Weber propane grill you can use in the back yard. Pine Plains is a quaint town in the Hudson Valley, where Dutchess and Columbia Counties meet. The house is a short 5 minutes away from several town amenities including a grocery store, a bank, post office, and the historic Stissing House restaurant. In Pine Plains you'll also find Stissing Lake beach, just a short 15 minutes from the house by bicycle and 5 minutes by car. The Hudson Valley is also home to an endless list of incredible small towns in every direction, each with great restaurants, boutiques, antique shops, farm stores and markets, and so much more. The house is approximately: • 2 hours from NYC • 40 minutes to Vassar College • 35 minutes to Hudson • 35 minutes to Germantown • 25 minutes to Bard College • 25 minutes to Rhinebeck • 20 minutes to Troutbeck • 15 to Millerton If traveling to the area by train, Metro-North and Amtrak run between Grand Central to Poughkeepsie and Wassaic, NY, where you can take a car service or rent a vehicle, though a car is recommended to explore the area.
The house is one of three on a quiet country lane, three minutes to main street Pine Plains where you'll find a grocery store, a couple of restaurants, a bank, post office, gas station, and more. There is now an EV Charging station located nearby in the town of Pine Plains, just behind the Bank of Millbrook. We ask all guests to respect our neighbors privacy and do not trespass on their property.
  • The house is beautifully renovated, sits on a quiet corner of a long country lane, has a brand new and fully stocked kitchen that is a joy to cook in, and has comfortable bedrooms. It's a peaceful escape just two hours from the City and within a comfortable drive from a number of nice upstate towns and attractions.

  • This is one of those places that exemplifies the Superhost status. It is thoughtfully designed -- no clutter, but enough furnishing to feel cozy. Every little detail is carefully curated (from lighting and artwork down to the Best Made box of adapters and charging cords). Quick to respond, with a helpful book of good area recommendations, and a laid back check out process, I feel like this is a great find for 4 people to enjoy. A good mid-way point between to Catamount or Butternut ski area and other Hudson River Valley activities. We'll be back!

  • Stephen has a beautiful home in a wonderful area of Dutchess County, NY. My family spent Thanksgiving in the home and it had everything we needed for a great week away from the city between nearby hiking, local shopping, and a beautifully appointed home and kitchen.

    Trevor2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderfully charming home in the Hudson Valley that's in a perfect location for a few days in the country! Stephen & Amy's house is chic yet cozy, and the heat works great for anyone visiting in the fall/winter. Super responsive hosts, easy check-in and check-out, and all the amenities you could want. I can't wait to come back!

    Anna Sophia2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen and Amy’s home is incredibly special. My boyfriend and I spent the weekend there and we were blown away. It is the perfect escape and a short drive from Hudson. Stephen and Amy provided us with many recommendations and were extremely communicative. We particularly loved the farm they recommended- and brought back some goodies to cook a wonderful meal in their chefs grade kitchen. If you like food, fresh air, and classic style, this place is for you. I couldn’t recommend it more- probably my most favorite stay through Airbnb ever.

  • My family stayed at this cabin with our dog and had a wonderful time. The space is updated and full of nice touches and amenities to make the stay relaxing and enjoyable. It’s about a half hour from Rhinebeck which has a great little downtown. The cabin is deceptively spacious and has lots of great spaces and rooms. Would love to stay again!

Our recently renovated home is a sun-filled, post-and-beam cabin situated on a quiet road with seasonal views of the surrounding hills & countryside. The house features an open floor plan with three bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Our wooded hillside lot is a rural oasis, and inside, you'll find a combination of rustic and contemporary furnishings and decor. We love our home and enjoy sharing it with others looking to explore all that the Hudson Valley has to offer!
The house is most comfortable for groups of up to 6. We will allow up to 7 guests and there are two couches or an air mattress for larger groups. Fresh linens and towels are provided, and the kitchen comes stocked with basic cookware and tableware. Help yourself to condiments, salt, pepper, etc. you may find. The house is equipped with heating and Central AC for four-season enjoyment, which can be controlled via the Nest thermostat.
Located at the nexus of bucolic Dutchess and Columbia Counties, our house is under 30 minutes from area destinations Hudson, Rhinebeck and Millbrook with Litchfield County, CT and the Berkshires not far beyond. The welcome guide details some of our favorite local activities, including hikes, farms, shopping, and historic landmarks. We are just 5 minutes from the nearest town offering coffee, a grocery market, and multiple casual and fine dining options. Let our cabin serve as home base for all of your Hudson Valley adventures!
  • We absolutely adored this cabin. It is spacious, stylishly decorated, the beds are all amazing, and the nearby towns are so lovely to spend time in. We’d be back in a heartbeat.

  • Callan and Dylan’s home exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t have asked for a better weekend escape. The house is thoughtfully designed and the perfect combination of cozy and modern. The house is only a short 5 minute drive to town which has great cafes and restaurants. The hosts were attentive and quick to respond. Would recommend!

    Ellen2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • the cabin was great! cozy, light filled, quiet, comfortable and stylish!

    Sarah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I and are two young kids stayed at Callan and Dylan’s place over the winter holidays. We loved the house; it was comfortable, beautifully decorated, peaceful, and quiet. It is also within driving distance of Rhinebeck, Hudson; great restaurants; and many lovely parts of the Hudson Valley. I was a bit worried that we wouldn’t find enough for our kids to do in the winter but they had a great time playing outside and taking trips to the Trevor Zoo, firefighter museum, and mid-Hudson children’s museum. Dylan and Callan provided an excellent guide to the area and were quick to respond to our inquiries.

    Jessica2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This home is everything you want in a stay upstate. The rustic modern style of the house is just woodsy enough to feel cozy, but new and stylish enough to feel luxurious. The pictures can’t do it justice. The ceilings upstairs in the bedrooms are so high, a breath of fresh air from cramped city living! The host provides everything you need, including recommendations for places to sightsee, hike, shop, and eat - but you could easily do nothing but lounge in the house and leave happy at the end of your trip. (I still took a day to do some antiquing, though!) Just a completely lovely stay.

    Chloe2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful property, great hosts, we would recommend and come stay again!

    Daniel2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Callan and Dylan’s home and had an amazing weekend with my family. Everything in the home is updated, modern and most importantly sparkling clean! The house is located close to hikes, wineries and distilleries. Callan and Dylan are very nice and helpful. They left clear instructions for the home and provided suggestions for local attractions. One of my best stays yet and can’t wait to go back! Thanks again Callan and Dylan!

    Andrea2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • My family's stay at Callan and Dylan's place was wonderful. A very clean, spacious and unique place to stay nestled in the woods of the Hudson Valley. Communication was swift and a booklet was placed in the home with a list of local destinations and experiences to be had - highly recommend staying here.

A private, spacious farmhouse located on 8 acres in a Tuscan-like rural area of southern Columbia County. Hard to leave this cozy retreat but house is perfectly situated for exploring. It's a 20+ minute drive to all of the following: Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and Hudson, New York; Egremont (Catamount skiing) and Great Barrington (Butternut Skiing), Massachusetts, and Lakeville, Connecticut.
  • This is the most wonderful, peaceful and restorative places and houses I have ever visited. Having access to stay in a home like this, in an environment like this, is a gift.

  • We had a great 5 day meditation retreat. Liz was super responsive. The house was all we hoped for and much more. We will return.

    Juanita2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at the home and we really enjoyed staying here. It was exactly what I wanted -a quiet and relaxing escape for family and friends. Liz is responsive and very helpful with recommendations for activities to do nearby. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen, pool and outdoor shower were great. I would stay here again. Highly recommended.

    Carmen2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a truly wonderful time at the Red House! Liz was incredibly responsive and the house was perfect for a group of 9. We especially enjoyed our time in the gorgeous pool. Thanks Liz!

    Amy2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Liz's place was PERFECT! The location was beautiful! The pool was magical! The decor from the plates to the toys were stylish and farmhouse chic. I left with countless design ideas for our own Brooklyn home and look forward to our next visit, because we will definitely be back. Our entire family fell in love with this place-- my husband, 6 year old, 3 year old and 9 month old:) Every moment was incredible!

    Yabome2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Liz’s home is exceptional - the vistas, the light, the pool, the layout. All was remarkably comfortable, classy and tasteful. Our group of two families (with kids ages 5 & 7) fell under the magic of the place! From the fields of fireflies to the views-while-swimming, to dinners on the deck, walks down the country roads....it was an incredibly memorable trip. We ventured out a bit, and had we stayed longer would have explored adjacent towns more, but we felt so at home at Liz’s that we took advantage of the time just to relax and unwind! Liz was a wonderful communicator and obviously cares for her home and her guests. We feel very lucky to have found this gem and can’t wait to return.

    Jocelyn2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This house and location offered a shelter from the storm. From the moment you wake and hear the birds and see and feel the trees and mist and air till you sleep at night, this provided a calm so missing from the world at large.

    Ellen2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • we had such a great time at Liz's house! we were a total of 10 people and found plenty of nooks and crannies to sleep and enjoy our days. The kitchen was really well stocked and perfect for a Thanksgiving feast. The grounds were beautifully kept and inspired lots of deep thinking. We were extremely happy with our stay and all the great local suggestions provided by The Host.

  • Stefan and Mark's place was incredibly lovely. The house is decorated tastefully and is quite comfortable. But the stand-out aspect is the land the house sits on. The property is gorgeous - everywhere you look is picturesque. We traveled with our toddler who spent hours running and biking around. A five minute walk takes you up a hill to a beautiful vista of the catskill mountains and surrounding countryside. Stefan was really kind and gave us lots of local tips. Highly recommended!

  • A wonderful rustic country getaway. So peaceful and the main living room with the exposed beams really helped me feel like I was in Upstate New York country. Grounds were well maintained and bed comfortable. Hope to come back for a longer stay soon and bring some friends with me.

  • Great property, very magical! The furniture is very tasteful and with attention to detail. This Farm is a charming place to relax and enjoy nature. Everything was wonderful. I would definitely love to stay again!

  • Exceptional house and property! We came to spend the 4th with my in-laws and visit friends nearby. I was struck by the tranquil setting and how charming this attached garden unit was. We didn't take advantage of all the amenities and serene surroundings, but I'm sure if we had more time we would have. Stefan was great to coordinate with, and very generous and accommodating with our needs. If you're interested in a tranquil weekend getaway from the city, with ideally 4-6 people, I would think this has to be one of the best options in the region. Excited to come back again!

  • Antoinette's house is amazing and perfect for a large group! The setting on the lake is gorgeous and hanging out on the lawn and porch was pretty idilic. It's close to all you need to either explore the Hudson Valley or stay close and go on hike nearby (hike to the fire tower!). The kitchen is fully stocked with all the equipment you need to cook large meals that can be served in the spacious dining room. There were 12 of us and everybody had plenty of space for privacy or to hang out together. It is an old house so comes with the standard creaks, but it was all part of the charm. Perfect for a leaf peeping, autumn weekend and I'm sure it would be fun and cozy all year round!

  • Absolutely beautiful setting! Lake, hammock, tire swing, sunsets...Old Victorian house is perf for antique lovers. Antoinette was extremely quick to respond and very helpful. Will be back!

  • This is an amazing house and location. I highly recommend it.

    Alphonse2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Antoinette was a very responsive and generous host. Our large family group was comfortably accommodated and thoroughly enjoyed the lake setting and proximity to good walking and hiking. We cooked large meals on a huge weber grill outside and a large commercial stove inside, and enjoyed the large wrap-around porch.

    Betsy2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What a great place with so many amenities! We really had a fantastic stay and Antoinette went above and beyond a host's responsibilities. You will really enjoy this property if you're lucky enough to stay here!

    Brandon2019-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house is an absolute dream and comfortable and warm. The lake is stunning and there are hiking trails nearby that offer many miles of paths. You have your own world at Antoinette's place and we were so grateful to gather there as a group of friends.

    Patti2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This house is the perfect getaway for people looking for a huge house next to a beautiful lake, 2 minutes drive to a 5 star French restaurant. The location so close to NYC and Westchester can't be beat. Lots of room for big families and for any type of reunion!

    Leonard2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Antoinette house is a beautiful find! Hidden in a little corner of a beautiful lake this house is the perfect place to comfortably spend a long weekend with up to 17 friends or family (if you get the cottage too). The grounds are large and ranging, the lawns perfect to play around or relax and of course the lake, with jetty, canoes and swimming platform make it the perfect weekend spot. The house is equipped with everything you need, clean and comfortable and the kitchen is serious business meaning you can cater for big parties no problem. Thoroughly recommend this place! The photos don't do it justice!!

Enjoy a peaceful stay in our charming country cottage in Dutchess County. Wake to sounds of birds chirping and leaves rustling in the trees, and fall asleep to crickets chirping and frogs peeping in the pond. Explore all that the area has to offer from a cozy and well-appointed home base!
Our wonderful little home has three bedrooms and two full baths, plus an office. One bedroom and bath plus the office are on the first floor, along with the living room and eat-in kitchen. Two large bedrooms and the other bathroom are upstairs. Both bathrooms were recently renovated. The kitchen is fully equipped for meals at home, and there is a grill stored in the basement. The house is on a little less than one acre and has a large back yard, a stream, and a spring-fed pond. We don't have a TV but there are lots of kids' books and puzzles to keep you busy (we also have wifi). Dogs are welcome (sorry, no cats) and we have a dog bed and food/water dish.
The house is adjacent to the 600-acre Buttercup Audubon Sanctuary, filled with wonderful hiking trails, and across the road from rolling pastures where horses and cows graze. We are a 5-10 minute drive from several wonderful restaurants, as well as small grocery stores where you can get everything you need to cook at home. Also in the area are the Millbrook Winery, where you can eat and drink al fresco in the summer, many antique shops and farms, and the Mashomack Polo Club. Swim in Stissing Lake in the summer, and go sledding in winter down the amazing hill by Stanfordville Town Hall. There is also a great playground and basketball court in Stanfordville. We are 15 minutes from the Taconic State Parkway and 20-25 minutes from MetroNorth at Wassaic or Poughkeepsie.
  • A perfect weekend getaway, with extra touches that make it feel more like a home. We want to go back in every season to experience the different activities and pleasantries of the area. Perfect for kids to roam and explore the back yard and have space to play. Definitely recommend!

  • Emily’s place was great for a nice and quiet stay out of the weekend. Our dogs loved running around in the back and taking long walks in the nature preserve which is a stone’s throw from the house. The road out front is quiet and not often traveled on, which is great if you’re looking for privacy. The house does have neighbors who are fairly close on either side, but both neighbors are friendly and helpful if you need anything.

    Zach2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Emily’s place. It was in a convenient location for our visit, super clean, thoughtful touches, and relaxing vibe. Highly recommend!

  • Buttercup cottage was perfect for my three friends and me over Rhinebeck weekend! It's a little off the beaten track, but it was clean, quiet, and just the right size for the four of us.

    Danielle2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed in Emily’s house for only one night, with friends, after a wedding nearby. It was exactly as described... clean, cute, comfortable. Emily was helpful and easy to communicate with.

    Janelle2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great house! We made a very last minute reservation due to needing to attend a funeral. We felt really comfortable here and was easy to find. Check in was seamless and Emily was very quick with responses. Price reflected product and the house is located in a beautiful spot.

  • Emily’s home was perfect for our stay. We enjoyed staying there and had a great time. The house is lovely and had everything we needed. The area is charming and relaxing. Our check in and check out were easy and everything went perfectly.

Beautiful farm house built in 1790 with several barns on the 10 acre wooded property. House is located 2 hours North of Manhattan in the small (1 stop light), charming town of Pine Plains. There is a tennis court on the property. Caretaker on property. Housekeeper available for mid-stay cleaning. House sleeps 8-9 people comfortably. There are 2 bedrooms with king beds. 1 Bedroom with a queen size bed. 1 bedroom with a full size bed and an additional twin size bed. Many fireplaces with one operable in living room. Horse back riding, hiking trails, swimming, dining, antiquing, fruit picking, skiing, fishing, old-time roller skating rink, movies, zip-lining are all 15-25 minutes away. Wonderful grocery in town with local produce and specialty items is a 5 minute drive from the house. We can provide a list of great local restaurants and excursion destinations.
  • Kristin’s place was great! The pool was great and the house can fit 8 or more. The house is pretty bare bones with amenities, so consider bringing any spices, oils, or extra toilet paper. Note that the house is not as secluded as photos show, but there is plenty of space to explore and find privacy! Close to Kingston, Hudson and many other beautiful towns - would stay here again.

    Anthony2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kristin’s place is lovely. We spent the weekend lounging by the pool and grilling. Was a lovely weekend all around.

    Daniel2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a small group of friends or family looking for a nice, relaxing weekend getaway! Kristin was very easy to communicate with and there was a caretaker on the property to assist with any immediate questions we had. A few important details - the property's pool is surrounded by super lush trees (really beautiful, but there's not direct sun all day). There is AC on the main floor, however bedrooms are equipped with only fans. It does get cooler in the evenings, but good thing to know! Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. There is a nice, fresh market a two minute drive away, and the property is only about 25 minutes drive from Rhinebeck, which has great restaurants and shopping. Also, I really think it's worth noting that the house was a stop on the Underground Railroad and has so many interesting trinkets and nick-nacks to uncover. Cool history!

    Bianca2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great visit to Kristin’s property. The huge yard and play equipment were great for our kids to run around and play. The location away from a busy road added to the ease of having kids running around outside. The pool and tennis courts are set away from the house, up a winding stone stair toward the back of the property. We didn’t use the pool because the water was too cold (late June) which was disappointing. Other than that, our stay was great.

  • A lovely home! We had a great time and the weather was spectacular. You can tell that this is a well loved home that was put together with care. Each room is thoughtfully considered and very comfortable. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, the kitchen stocked as needed and Kristin was very responsive to any questions we had. Thanks again!

  • 5 of us went up to Pine Plains for my father’s 60th birthday and stayed at Duxbury House. The 1790’s home is beautiful. In a perfect location, it’s so quiet and peaceful. We were so comfortable and Kristin was easy to reach! I would highly recommend a stay here.

This mid-century modern home reigns over a magical world in the historic Hudson Valley. With views in four directions, The Hideaway feels as remote as Brigadoon. Fully-renovated home is well stocked, cozy, and dog-friendly. Surrounded by meadows, The Hideaway is a wonderful place to spot bald eagles, hawks, and other majestic raptors in their natural setting.
The home settles into its surroundings with deceptive subtlety, while inside it is surprisingly spacious, with generous views of sunrise and sunset. A comfy, open plan with workable kitchen and living/dining space is a great gathering spot for a family or group of friends. One bedroom is separated from the living space by a cleverly disguised sliding barn door, and two additional bedrooms—one with two twin beds and the other with sliding-door access to the outside—make the home comfortable for 6. Set on 700 acres stitched with trails perfect for hiking, bird-watching, or cross-country skiing. Hudson Valley boasts one of the longest fall foliage seasons in the country. Ran2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Shoreditch discovery was a unique experience with Savio and we truly enjoyed it. Savio was kind, focused, passionate and personally interested in the street art world. He took us beyond the streets and back in to the history of the neighbourhood, buildings, art and people. We had a lot of time with street art, visited shops and chat with an artist that we came across. Savio was energetic and liberal with time as we strolled down the streets with his bacpack music accompanying us. I would recommend this experience to all who would like to immerse themselves in Shoreditch.

Quiet escape from the world. The Cabin settles into its surroundings with deceptive subtlety, while inside it is surprisingly spacious, with generous views of sunrise and sunset and the comforting sound and view of stream off the deck that runs through backyard. A comfy, open plan with workable kitchen and living/dining space, full of light. There is a cozy fireplace for raining days or cold winter getaways. It is a great gathering spot for a family or group of friends. Dogs welcome too.
Set on 700 acres stitched with trails perfect for hiking, bird-watching, or cross-country skiing. Hudson Valley boasts one of the longest fall foliage seasons in the country. The autumn colors paint the entire valley with rich warmth from September deep into October. When the winter snows fall across the landscape, take out your snowshoes and experience the drifting silence of the woods under its white mantle. In summer, enjoy long days in nature and leisurely evenings next to the stream while sitting around the fire-pit or on the deck.
The Cabin is a short 5 minutes away from several town amenities including a grocery store, that provides farm fresh produce, milk, meats and cheeses. There is a bank, post office and gas station. There are several restaurants including the historic Stissing House restaurant which is located in the center of town and Lia's Italian restaurant just on the edge of town. In the summer there is the Backyard Gardens with live music and outdoor bar and restaurant. Pine Plains is a wonderful little town nestled in the Hudson Valley where Dutchess and Columbia Counties meet. You will find an endless list of incredible small towns in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) miles in every direction. Each one provides great restaurants, farm stores, antique shops, markets, and much more. It's a 15 minute drive to Millerton and only 20 minute drive each of the following: Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and Hudson; Egremont, Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and Lakeville, Connecticut.

  • This was our second stay at the barn in the space of a couple of months and we couldn't be happier than to have discovered this charming part of the Hudson Valley. We had amazing weather which eased off the stress of the September return to work. We intend to come back often.

  • Stefan and Mark’s property is absolutely stunning and my husband and I cannot wait to come back with our family. The hosts were very accessible and provided tons of tips from good places to get fresh organic groceries and dinner to great spots to catch the best views. The place was amazing and very spacious. My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful romantic weekend on a picturesque farm and were able to take some lovely walks and picnic on the property as we had some very beautiful days. I recommend it to anyone looking to get away from the craziness of every day life. We will be back soon!

  • Perfect Hudson Valley getaway This is the perfect place for a family getaway from the city. Could not be more of a contrast - so peaceful and felt so connectedto nature. Lovely setting with green fields and lawns around, even a babbling brook running through the property. Barn was charming with plenty of space for all of us. Felt refreshed and rejuvenated.

  • This turned out to be a fantastic last minute booking. We stayed in the barn, the upper floor has three bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom and a really lovely barn living room. All very stylish with lovely comfortable beds. The barn is in the most idyllic setting on an impeccably manicured farm. A double ally of trees greet you as you drive down to the house , horses to one side and rolling hills to the other. The region has lots to offer being equidistant between Rhinebeck and Millbrook and only a 30 minute drive to Hudson. Great restaurants are peppered throughout this historic landscape as well as countless walking trails and beautiful drives. All in all, highly recommendable

  • We had a lovely, if too short stay, at Debbie’s last weekend. She is an incredibly warm and thoughtful host and the property is beautiful. A great spot to catch a breath and escape the city. Thank you!

    Katie2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Deborah has an adorable little bungalow that is very cozy and comfortable. My wife and I stayed for 2 nights and had a great time. Deborah set up a beautiful seating area (with a fire pit!) near her pond which was great and very private. We spend several hours by the pond, relaxing and enjoying nature - the perfect antidote for a stressful week. Deborah's bungalow is small and not at all modern but very comfortable. Deborah left us with eggs and bacon which was awesome and clearly worked hard to make sure we felt at home. If you are looking for a short getaway with your beloved Deborah's cottage is a great option.
