The hut has a 13 amp power point, small heater two single beds with bedding and towels. There is an outside shed with your own toilet. There is a shared shower. A shared kitchen two ring hot plate, microwave and cooking utensils. This is camping with no thrills .WIFI can be accessed from the kitchen. We do have a variety of poultry Chicken Cockerels Geese and Guinea fowl free range. We do not allow smoking anywhere and no pets.
I built the hut to be able to provide budget camping to withstand Orkney weather.
Village shop Post Office with cash point opens Monday to Saturday 8am-6pm Sunday 10am-5pm within walking distance 0.4 of a mile from here.
  • We stayed at John's cabin for 4 nights in August. John was kind and friendly and so helpful about the local area and even gave us a lift to Birsay and lent us bikes to cycle back. The beds were comfy and the space was clean and cosy. We had our own bathroom and the kitchen facilities we plenty to cook simple meals. If you are looking for a simple stay somewhere wild and beautiful, this is perfect! We'd definitely stay again.

  • Staying at John and Victoria’s will remain one of the best Airbnb experiences we ever had. They are so welcoming and helpful, and we had a wonderful time talking and sharing with them. Also, we simply LOVED staying in the hut which is so comfortable despite the frequent rain. We are already thinking of coming back next year. If you’re looking for some place to escape from too much civilisation and phone signals, this is the place to be.

  • Please see previous review. It’s lovely. We would recommend to anyone and will be going back next year.

  • The camping hut is a cute little space, beautifully presented inside and out and with a stunning view. It’s a little bit of paradise if the weather is kind and even If it’s not! John is a great host and has created some wonderful holiday accommodation with a lot of creative touches.

    Rachel2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • John and Victoria are hosts that went above and beyond to make stay and wonderful and memorable experience. We couldn’t want for kinder, more generous or friendly hosts. The camping hut is in a beautiful location with stunning views overlooking sea and islands. It was warm cosy and tucked away with its own enclosed garden. Facilities including shower and private loo exceeded expectations. The kitchen was well equipped and impeccably clean. We would recommend this to anyone looking to explore this beautiful corner of the world.

    Oliver2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • John welcomed us and was always with great tips to the side. The little hut is awesome. Simple and sufficient. Great view of the sea. Kitchen, WiFi, shower and toilet about 30m away. We would come back anytime.

  • We had a great time at orkney in the hut. It is very cosy with a beautiful view at the sea. John is very friendy and helpfull, he has a lot of good tips about orkney. The location is also very central to explore the island. We would definitly reconmend this place!

  • Lovely cottage, very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Lovely and warm in mid November and a great welcome with home bakes too !

    Gareth2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful little cottage this is! The photos don’t actually do it justice. This was a real home away from home, with every little detail taken care of.

    Nerrida2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Colin were fantastic hosts. Their bungalow is immaculate and equipped with everything you could need. Located down a quiet track it was an incredibly peaceful retreat to return to each day. Thoroughly recommended.

  • Excellent place to stay. We felt very relaxed and at home. There were chickens and cats, such a lovely place. And the homemade scones and fresh eggs were amazing!!

    Heather2019-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Has everything you need and is very warm and cosy! We have relatives that transported us around, so if you are travelling independently you will need a car. Or you can just stay at home and enjoy the solitude of the surroundings and the natural beauty!

    Terry2019-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great wee cottage located 15mins east of Kirkwall. Worth it for the hot scones on arrival. Delicious!!

    James2019-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • For our trip around Scotland and Orkney, Karen and Collin's cottage was hands down the best. Far better than we expected. They have done an amazing remodel of an old cottage and provided everything you could possibly expect for your comfort and enjoyment. We absolutely loved this property! PS: The fresh baked scones and personal greeting from them was about as warm a welcome as you could expect.

  • This flat couldn’t be in a more ideal location in Kirkwall, and couldn’t be more comfortable! It suited all my needs, was clean & tidy, and had a wealth of tourist information available.

  • really enjoyed a relaxing stay at this cosy flat. with its cottagey-feel and decorated with elements from nature, it has the perfect atmosphere when wanting to escape everyday life. it is in easy walking distance to everything and has a simple yet very practical kitchen with everything I needed. warm and fluffy blankets were really appreciated when arriving to a cold flat late in the evening. would however recommend to bring slippers when visiting in the colder months.

    Yvonne2020-01-31T00:00:00Z

The cottage is in a quiet rural area 10 minute walk from stromness pier head. There is panoramic views with the island of hoy and the Atlantic to the west and wild country side and farmland in the east. There is also a large mature garden which houses some hens. It is also well situated for walker's as in every direction is a nice walk. Weaverhall is in a beautiful secluded area but all local amenities are easily accessible.
Our comfortable cottage is set in a stunning area and has a private garden for your use. The cottage is well equipped for your stay with a shower room, combined washer/tumble drier, cooking facilities and equipment. All towels and bedding are provided. WiFi access is also available.
  • Nice little cottage with a stunning view! But its good to have a car(:

    Tessa2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at this cottage. There are gorgeous views over the sea, and lovely walks nearby. The cottage had everything we needed for a self catering trip and was really cosy with lots of nice touches! Ingrid and Neil were very helpful and so accommodating. Excellent hosts and we would definitely stay again (Probably in summer though! 😂)

    Alison2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Neil's house. It was really cosy and homely in the evenings with stunning views during the day. A short walk to Stromness (though I'd bring a torch for the evenings if you are walking back) and a thoroughly pleasant place to unwind after your day. Would stay again.

    Joshua2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Weaver Hall Cottage is a lovely, cosy, quiet place for two with beautiful views. It has everything you need for a self-catering holiday home and was a great base for my husband, myself and our dog for epic walks and sight seeing. We had a brilliant time in Orkney and really enjoyed the cottage.

    Francesca2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Neil was so kind! He picked us up from the bus station and brought us to the supermarket and waited for us. The house was AMAZING! Way better than we thought it will be. Everything was clean and Neil was always really fast in answering our questions. We miss the house and the view. It was a pleasure to stay there and it would be the only place I would go again if visiting the Orkney Islands.

This newly converted stable/outbuilding has been turned into a beautifully finished, very comfortable, modern cottage. Complete with its very own unique flagstone roof. Situated just a 5 minute stroll from the Cathedral and town centre, and 10 minutes from the town harbour with a variety of cafes, pubs and restaurants on the way. The cottage itself is in a small square off Main Street, which despite its name is a very quiet side street. Off street parking area available.
Main street is a small one way street in the old part of Kirkwall. St Magnus Cathedral and the town centre are only a few minutes walk away.
  • Jimmy's place was very clean and well presented. A comfortable bed and a well equipped kitchen for simple cooking. The location is very handy and the flat has a cosy atmosphere, with local info about the area to. I will stay again.

    Jedidiah & Nicolette2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great, and stylish, place to stay. It had everything we could need, including extra's like milk, tea and coffee, and it felt like all the space had been used. It was lovely and light as well as being well heated too. This made it feel really cosy. It is about five minutes walk from the centre of Kirkwall and was also within close walking distance of the major supermarkets. We only met Jimmy very briefly but he was very friendly and it was clear he was more than happy to help if we had any issues. The only drawback was that parking directly outside the accommodation was within a very small, and tight, space. This might be challenging for larger/ multiple vehicles. While this was not an issue for us, it did appear that there was ample parking spaces in town and on the roads close by. All in all my partner and I really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back in a heartbeat!

  • The Cottage was the perfect place to spend a few nights on Orkney. We loved the compact nature of the cottage which met our needs and some. Jimmy was an excellent host who was easily contactable and supportive of our requests. We will be back!

    Monique2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Purely amazing experience. Lovely little touches everywhere. Jimmy really thinks of everything! We had a pleasant stay xxx

    Melor2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was in a central location and easy to get to the main attractions around Kirkwall. When we first arrived, we were impressed by the aesthetics of the cottage and all the little touches that made the morning afterwards a little bit easier.

Recently converted self-catering accommodation set in the grounds of our family home, just five minutes from St Margaret's Hope ferry terminal. A perfect location for viewing local wildlife or visiting some of Orkney's world-famous Neolithic archaeological sites such as the"Tomb of the Eagles", or wartime sites such as Hoxa Head gun emplacements or the Italian Chapel. Just a 15 minute drive to Kirkwall, across the famous Churchill Barriers with their historic shipwrecks.
A beautiful converted Byre, with fabulous views out over farmland across Echna Loch and Scapa Flow.
The Byre lies on a quiet country lane, surrounded by farmland and has beautiful views to the sea, which is about a half-mile away.
  • Great place to stay, outstanding hospitality and the scenery beautiful. Going back to stay next year loved it so much

    Hayley2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • The Byre is the perfect place for an Orkney retreat and has everything we needed. My teenage son and I spent a happy week there, relaxing in the property, and trying out the different things that part of Orkney. It is far enough away from the main drag to be peaceful, but still close enough to get to things easily. The view over Scapa Flow is breath-taking, and changed with the light every hour. We left with very happy memories.

    Sam2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ian and Barbara were absolutely fantastic hosts. The Byre was excellent accommodation in a superb setting, overlooking Scapa Flow with good road access to all parts of Burray, Orkney Mainland and South Ronaldsay. (Other Orkney islands are accessible by numerous ferries.) All this at great value for money and naturally comes very highly recommended.

    Mike2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Byre has a view west across the meadows towards Scapa Flow and Hoy. It is more spacious than it appears in the photos, spotless and very well equipped. Ian and Barbara were excellent hosts providing the right level of guidance on where to go, ferries etc. We had a really good week in Orkney as a result.

    Patrick2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay with plenty of space for 3 people, in a stunning location with views across Scapa Flow. The accommodation is very clean, comfortable and warm. Highly recommended.

    Karin2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The Byre is a great place to stay. It is immaculately clean, cosy and has everything you would need. In a great location with amazing views. Ian and Barbs are great hosts, very friendly and approachable. Would not hesitate recommending The Byre to anyone visiting Orkney.

    James2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We were 2 guys looking to do a bit of cycling/sightseeing as well as working from a home from home. The Byre offered great views and a super base and was perfectly functional to our needs. Burray as an area is very well situated and perhaps offers more of an island experience than Kirkwall or Stromness. Highlights, St Margaret’s Hope, Herston and Brough of Birsay. Best local place we visited for coffee/beer/food was Robertson’s where Morag behind the bar was a star! Overall, hopefully will return soon to Orkney and ideally stay at the Byre😍

On the outskirts of the historic town of Stromness in the West Mainland of Orkney, this single-story barn conversion has one bedroom, an open-plan living/dining/kitchen space, and a bathroom with bath and walk-in shower. All on one level, the property is wheelchair accessible throughout. It has stunning views across Hoy Sound and out to the open Atlantic. Parking is available right outside, but if you visit without a car, regular buses from Stromness go to all areas of Orkney.
The building was converted four years ago from an old barn. It has a traditional, Orkney stone exterior, and an up-to-date and comfortable interior. Large windows on the seaward side flood the building with light, and give an unrestricted view across Hoy Sound. The kitchen and bathroom are stylish and modern. Slate floors throughout have underfloor heating, and there is a multi-fuel stove in the sitting room. There is a good stock of Orkney books and maps, as well as general reading material, board games, jigsaws and playing cards.
Innertown is in the parish of Stromness, within easy walking distance of the town centre, but we are surrounded by farmland, and close to the beach. Houses are widely spaced - we have a couple of fields between us and our nearest neighbours in each direction. There are footpaths along the shore, taking you to the golf course and the town of Stromness in one direction, or to the cliffs at Yesnaby and the neolithic village of Skara Brae in the other. Dominating the horizon are the heather-covered hills of Hoy: the highest hills in all of Orkney.
  • Jane's beautifully renovated house is amazing! The interior is very stylish yet functional and contains everything you need for a few days on the Orkneys. She even provided us with bread, coffee, tea and other breakfast essentials! The view from the house is breathtaking. Additionally, Jane answered very quickly and made sure that we were able to find the house immediately. She made us feel very much at home. Thank you so much for that wonderful stay! Definitely worth a visit!

  • This is a wonderful relaxing soothing space to experience. The house and view and close proximity to the beach made my 3 days feel like a spa break. Highly recommend. I will be back soon.

  • If your looking for somewhere away from the hustle & bustle of every day life, this place is perfect. The view out the window are better than anything you'd see on a TV. Definitely need more than a long weekend to see everything these spectacular islands have to offer. Can't wait to return. Think we've found a home from home.

    Mandy2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The only drawback of Jane's house is that you have to leave. The house is a jewel that makes your stay on the island more comfortable and personal. Everything is perfectly maintained, the comfortable bed, the kitchen is dreamy and the views, these views are a separate issue. Discovering the Orkney Islands is a wonderful experience, but if you stay in this house it will make it more unique and special

    Marta2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Probably the best place to stay on Orkney. Toft is the perfect balance between peace haven and proximity to Stromness. We will undoubtedly be back on Orkney, and Toft is the first place we will be looking to book!

    Vincent2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • If your looking for beautiful views and amazing comfort , this is your place for an Orkney stay.

    Alan2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Peaceful location with breathtaking views. Very warm and comfortable, the place had everything that we needed. Jane was a gracious host and very quick with responses. Thanks a lot!

  • This is an oasis of calm and peace. Magnificent views over to Hoy, and all the creature comforts you would ever need. Fab comfy bed, excellent shower and a bath for a soak. The kitchen is thoughtfully kitted out with the best pans we’ve ever had making my scrambled eggs even better!! We’ve had a really lovely time staying here and plan to return. Thank you so much.

Enjoy all the wonderful attractions that Orkney offers from this lovely spacious shabby chic house in central Kirkwall. This comfortable house is ideal for a couple, it provides a king size bed, a shower over the bath, washing machine with drying green, air to water heating, off street parking 30 meters away tho you may park on the street. Unfortunately we can not accept pets on our property. Local amenities, Hospital, and historical buildings etc within walking distance( 8-10 minute walk)
This shabby chic type little house is ideal for a couple looking for a central location that will allow them freedom to enjoy the many musical and arts festivals, historical, archaeological sites, the beautiful islands and countryside, visiting family or investigating your family tree. There is a well equipped bright kitchen, with a fridge freezer, cooker, microwave, table and chairs, washing machine with a drying green in the back garden to let the Orcadian fresh winds dry your clothes leaving them lovely and soft? Many guests enjoy sitting at the table watching the summer evening sun or wind mills in the distance. Although the house is heated by air to water heating we provide a small heater should you feel a bit chilly after a brisk walk along the shores. There is a tv. If you would rather read, there is selection of books about Orkney which are there for your enjoyment while you are resident but they stay in the house. We also have a book swap system , when you finish your book and need another do feel free to swap your one for another. We provide some games eg, Scrabble, Jenga, cards etc. We love our long light nights here in Orkney but a few guests have found it difficult to sleep, so we have fitted the window with a blackout blind in addition to the curtains. Should you need to hang your clothes there is a built in wardrobe, you will find the iron and ironing board in here too. For your other clothes there is a shelved cupboard and a drawer under the bed. After a day in the fresh air you may fancy a long soak in the bath. There is a shower over the bath if you prefer that. We do not have off road parking but you can park in the street or there is a carpark diagonally across from the house.
The house is central; the centre of town, shops, eating places, bars, bus station , harbour are about a 10 minute walk, the hospital is close by being about a 5 minute walk.
  • Nice appartment well equiped and warm welcome. Quiet area not far from the center. Thanks to Mary

  • Perfect place to stay in Kirkwall. Easy walk in to town sights, shops and restaurants. Lovely clean and stylish space. Great back garden. Would absolutely stay again.

    Kristen2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Mary for providing such a lovely place for us to stay while in the Orkney Islands. From the start, you confirmed that we had arrived safe and sound and that all was well. We were reassured that if we needed to contact you, you were readily available for support. We loved your cottage with its front and back gardens with its wild flowers and herbs growing freely. This was enhanced by the books/maps/brochures you have made available including some local authors/poets and guide books of historical places around the Orkney Islands. In addition, your 'home' had absolutely everything we needed including an amazingly well stocked kitchen, washing machine and bathroom with heated towel rails. Despite it being a little cooler during our time here, we were able to keep lovely and cozy with the heating. A thousand thanks for your hospitality and giving us such wonderful memories of Kirkwall and Orkney.

  • After a day of adventurizationing (yes, it is a word :-)) it was always like coming home. If you're going to stay at Kirkwall this is the place!

    Darlene2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • It's a cosy, clean and warm cottage with all that is required for a short or longer stay. The hill from the shops can be challenging if walking but a taxi costs £4 from Tescos. Lovely views and a warm welcome from Mary. We would stay there again.

    Kim2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable, feels homely. Great amount of space for two travelers. Has everything you need, we were very happy to come back 'home' in the evening and cook dinner. We were also very happy to be able to catch up on our washing. 10 mins walk into town and supermarket, unfortunately a walk uphill back. Highly recommended.

  • Cosy, bright and tasteful. What a wonderful little pad this is. It has given us a very comfortable base for our exploration of these extraordinary isles.

  • The accommodation is very well located in a quiet residential area of Kirkwall. Everything important is within walking distance. The house is equipped with everything you need. Mary takes care of her guests. For the first morning milk was already in the fridge, tea and coffee were ready. The late arrival was unproblematic.

  • This was my second time staying at Malcolms. He kindly picked my up from the ferry terminal and dropped my off in the center in the morning, as I had a heavy suitcase. Lovely all day breakfast offered as well. Malcolm is very helpful with anything you need. Room was lovely and cosy and quite spacious. Amazing stay

  • You will find a very helpful and well informed host in Malcolm at East Bank hostel. The house is situated within an easy walk of the centre of Kirkwall. I had a comfortable single room with en suite bathroom. Renovations are almost complete in the large kitchen, which is well equipped for self catering. This is a great hostel to stay in while you explore the wonderful Orkney Islands.

    Pauline2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • Malcolm is an excellent host who will do everything he can possibly do to make sure your stay goes as you would wish.

    Timothy 2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Genial host, private space, but with the opportunity to mix with other guests if you wish. Close to everything and on a bus route, but nice and quiet.

    Dawn2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • Malcolm very kindly let me check in at the last minute when my ferry was canceled and was an excellent host.

    Allie2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you want 5* accom, then dont stay, but if you want 3*+ accom and local info that is not often given at 5* hotels, then consider Malcolms place. He offered and I accepted him picking me up at 11pm at the ferry, and dropping me back 4 days later for the 11.45pm ferry. He, and other guests were there to help and be involved with my stay, or leave me to my devices at other times. In other words I was able to feel what Orkney life was all about. The bed was great, the shower hot in my own en-suite, the full use of the kitchen and endless coffee / toast / fruit, was the tipping point to this being a great experience.

    Hayden2019-10-14T00:00:00Z

Very comfortable studio apartment with private access, kitchen and bathroom. Located 150yards from St.Magnus Cathedral hugely convenient and outstanding location in the heart of Kirkwall. Close walking distance to a selection of excellent local pubs, restaurants and Coffee shops. Super fast fibre broadband and smart TV inclusive.
Single travelers, business travellers and couples.
Victoria St is in the heart of Kirkwall, close to all amenities and the famous St Magnus Ctherdal is less than 150yrds from the aprtment. The flat is well presented, clean and well equipped. The bedroom is very relaxing with a great bed, smart TV and superfast fibre WiFi. But please be perfectly clear this is a three-roomed property, above my coffee shop. It is hugely convenient and very cosy. It is not luxurious or exceptional. It is comfortable and good value. Cheers!
  • Absolutely fantastic flat and location , sparking clean , exceptional stay ! Coffee shop downstairs does the best coffee in Kirkwall 👍

  • The flat is in a fantastic location in the centre of Kirkwall and is really good value for money. It had everything I needed, including a kitchen, good wifi, a really comfy bed and a place to work. When I come back to Orkney I would like to stay here again, highly recommend. The coffee shop is great too!

3 Whitehouse Lane is a quirky fisherman's cottage situated in the heart of picturesque Stromness. This thoughtfully handcrafted house features some very unique fixtures and fittings adding great interest to your stay and the fishing heritage of Stromness is a key feature. This cottage is in walking distance of all local amenities but situated in a quiet part of the town with private parking.
This cottage features a multi fuel stove adding to the character and although there is no TV there is WIFI available. There are some cleverly designed yet steep stairs leading to the bedroom, shower room and landing. There is a small bunk in the bedroom which could potentially sleep 1 child of 5 years and above.
Stromness is a coastal town with fishing heritage. There is a museum, art gallery, library and a good selection of essential shops, cafes and bars as well as craft and gift shops.
  • We wouldn’t hesitate to stay in this lovely cottage again, it really made our trip to Stromness all the more special. So much care and attention has gone into making every room unique and comfortable we would find ourselves looking forward to returning at the end of the day and sitting up next to the fire! Great host, great communication and all the information we could need to get started! What are you waiting for?

    Stuart2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • It's a unique place with lots of personally collected items and the overall craftsmanship of the cottage makes you feel like you have been allowed to stay in someone's very special home.

  • Great wee cottage with fun fisherman theme. Easy to check in and out. The cottage is close to the town centre and nice and quiet. The bed was comfortable and the cottage very clean. The Hosts were really responsive when we had a question on the first day. All went very well and I would recommend staying here if you are planning a trip to Stromness.

    Eric2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Clare’s place! The house is amazing, cozy and stylish. It is a quick walk to the main street of Stromness- I would highly recommend staying here as your base for exploring Orkney!

    Jessica2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely quirky cottage ideally located in the centre of Stromness. Ideal for two.

    Anthony2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Staying here is experience in its own right. The attention to detail in the design is extraordinary, it's like stepping into a museum/film-set whilst being an incredibly well equipped and practical space. The location is great, just a few minutes walk from the centre of town, very quiet at night but close enough for your fish and chips to still be warm by the time you get back! Stromness itself is a charming place, good amenities for its size and a great setting off point for anything you might want to see on the islands. If you get the chance to book into Fisherman's Cottage I would take it. It's a pretty unique place and staying there was one of the (many) highlights of our trip.

Basic loft space above the barn! It is a simple, rustic loft with 2 rooms and a tiny loo. It has a kitchen / dining room with wood-burning stove, dormer window snug and one double bedroom. The loo has no shower which is unusual and why I have priced it so. There are 4 showers downstairs via the main door and balcony - a 5 second walk, these are shared with the campers and glampers. It has a South facing sea view from the balcony. Ideal for couples on an adventures!
The loft benefits from an elevated position on the farm. The view from the balcony is lovely and peaceful as it is set back from the rest of the campsite but still close to the campsite kitchen and dining space if guests want to hang out there with other guests. Wheems is 3 miles from St Margarets Hope Ferry terminal so easy to get to by car, bike or foot for keen walkers. Wheems Organic Farm is an ecological and organic 6 hectare horticulture smallholding producing organic food for a local market. Wheems farm buildings are 200 years old and have been renovated using local, traditional and sustainable materials (although this barn was only built in 1992). Wheems farmland has been sensitively landscaped with areas set aside for conservation, areas carved out with stone dyke walling, and areas of tree planting. Wheems faces south and east on a hillside above sea-cliffs and beaches on South Ronaldsay. On Orkney there is nature, peace, space and sky. Wheems Loft overlooks cliffs and sandy beaches to the South within 5 minutes walk.
South Ronaldsay is a peaceful island, the village St Margarets Hope is 3 miles away where there is a nice restaurant called Robertsons and a lovely art and craft shop called The Workshop & Loft Gallery. We have Tomb of the Eagles on South Ronaldsay and Leila Thompson Tapestry. There are some lovely coastal walks including South Ronaldsay coastal walk which goes along the cliffs and you can reach this from Newark Bay - the beach you can see from Wheems 7 mins walk away.
  • It's a brilliant space. It's rustic as some reviews say, but that's more just it's character. It actually has everything you need and the showers are literally 5 seconds away as noted. Great base from which to explore the islands, but also a great hideaway for when the weather turns. Be sure to have a peak in the gallery.

    Fraser2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Away from it all spot with beautiful views from the window seat. We needed the log burner even in August but once ti was going it was nice and cosy. Relaxing stay in an interesting part of the world.

    Christine2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A unique place, which is what I look for in an Airbnb! Comfortable, cozy, and everything you need to make yourself at home - great views, comfy furnishings, more space than expected. A great base for an unhurried Orkney holiday

    Audrey2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic week at the Loft in Wheems Cottage and already talking about a return next summer. Relaxing and cosy. Thanks for the warmth and hospitality!

    Melissa2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely cosy little place with everything that you’d need to be a little home from home 😊

    Orson2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful place to stay, we were in the loft which is VERY spacious and comfortably 'quirky'. Everything is there that you need along with a few basic supplies and Steven bakes most mornings so fresh bread is available. Family and the staff (friends) are super friendly and always there willing to help and advise on places to visit etc., There is a large space for tents/campers/caravans with some electric hook-ups; they also have some pods, a Yurt and a couple of bell tents to hire. It is at the bottom end of South Ronaldsay so transport of some description is necessary unless walking is your thing!! There is a pedestrian ferry from the Scottish mainland into a small pier a couple of miles from the site (you can see it from Wheems) and that has a bus meeting it each trip but you will have to ask the driver nicely to drop you/pick you up at the end of the road as it runs straight to Kirkwall. St. Margaret's Hope is the nearest town and has all the necessary amenities plus a bus service that goes into Kirkwall transport centre.

    Gesella2019-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and stylish space, very natural, eco-friendly place to be. Wonderful spot for a holiday on Orkney, would definitely recommend.

    Jane2019-04-27T00:00:00Z
  • My short stay at the Loft was great even in meanest Orkneys weather. The location is beautiful and the welcome was warm and thorough (I did not meet the host until the end of the trip, but was shown around by two farm hands - and thanks again for the fresh eggs!). Two hot water bottles under the doona (quilt, bedding, blankets..the word??) were also a pleasant surprise. The Loft was comfortable anyway; with its heater and fireplace and the separate, hot hot shower being only a few steps down from the entrance. PS it was actually a super time to visit the islands...very atmospheric and reasonably unfettered by tourists like me.

  • The cottage was ideal for our purposes. We were a group of four plus our well behaved dog. Hannah's communication was excellent and we were able to find the house and settle in with no problems. There is lots of local information and the rooms are all spacious, comfortable, clean and warm. We really enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table or chatting in the living room. The views from the property are wonderful and the location is very handy for the ferry and for getting into the main town. It is a great base for exploring all across the islands with fresh air, peace and quiet in abundance. Hannah was great at keeping in touch. We highly recommend and would love to go back one day.

While staying at the Leverets, the fields that surround the property will be occupied mainly by sheep and in early spring lovely lambs! As well as sheep, you will be privileged to see some beautiful wildlife Orkney has to offer – right in our back yard! Hares and rabbits are daily visitors, as are the oystercatchers and curlews and hedgehogs (season dependent). If you are looking for the rarer bird, we have also had a male corncrake visiting the Leverets! If you are active and enjoy the great outdoors, fantastic hill walking and mountain biking is right on the doorstep of the Leverets.
  • 100% fantastic place!! Absolute recommend.

  • The kitchen door looks out toward the Stones of Stenness in the distance. Perfect location for Neolithic monuments. Also has a washer for muddy trousers from crawling into tombs or falling in peat bogs. Perfect!

  • The Leverets was a such a lovely place to stay, the room was perfect and the amenities were everything we needed. The location was also great as it was right near the main Neolithic sites, including Maes Howe and the Ring of Brodgar.

  • It was cold and wet outside (Nov.) and after a soaking walk uphill from the bus stop I found the the rooms were snug and warm! Very welcoming, and a good choice. Within walking distance of Maeshowe, Ring of Brodgar etc., AND a bus stop, so a great location if on foot. I enjoyed myself, despite weather, and great views once the weather improved. Thanks Helen.

  • My partner and I really enjoyed our stay here— I never actually met Helen face-to-face, but her instructions from the ferry were very clear. She generously welcomed us with milk, bread, and Orkney fudge! We booked two nights here, and cozied up in the living room and watched a bunch of American movies on DVD. There is no wifi, but we enjoyed it all the same— it gave us an opportunity to really relax and slow our pace. There was also a washing machine, which proved very useful to us + some drying racks. We would definitely rent this place again!

  • Helen was a great host. By my arrival, i found milk, butter, bread and specialties of the island in the Kistchen- so nice! The apartment has everything you need and is very cosy. The view of the water is great!

  • A lovely place to stay. Great location for arriving off the ferry from Stromness. Accurate description for how to find the place. Very cosy, and useful to have kitchen facilities and also a living area to relax in. Great views as well. Was provided a loaf of bread which was a nice extra touch.

    Connie2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • A great location for exploring the historical sites on Orkney! A comfortable and cozy apartment with private entrance. It had everything we needed. Helen was quick to respond and offered detailed and accurate directions and instructions well ahead of our trip which was helpful!

  • We had a lovely stay in Orkney. The house was in a lovely location next to the Pickaquoy Leisure Centre and supermarkets, great for a family. It was very homely and spacious with everything provided that we could possibly need. The hosts left a welcome pack and up to date information about all local amenities, attractions and places to eat. They thought of everything. We had a lovely stay.

  • Shauna and Neil’s place was amazing. A perfect location, exceptionally well equipped and so many extras in the welcome pack. We arrived on the late ferry but breakfast and snacks were taken care of. The house was roomy, comfortable and had lots of extras to make visitors comfortable. Thanks, a great base for exploring Orkney.

    Bernadette2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great location - very close to supermarkets and in walking distance of centre of Kirkwall, which itself is in the centre of Orkney mainland. There is a parking space at the house which is on a nice quiet street. There is a well equipped kitchen which includes a dishwasher - so no dishes! The bathroom is a wet room which would suit those with disabilities as well as able bodied guests. The house is clean, warm, safe and secure in a friendly town on a beautiful island!

Cosy attic double bedroom with a table & two chairs. It has it's own en suite shower room. The house is on the waters edge in the heart of Stromness with it's wonderful old cobbled streets & lanes. It's a short walk from the ferry terminal. With a selection of small shop's closed by, a little further is a co op (it has extensive opening hours). You'll also find hotel restaurant's & cafe's close by. There's no direct vehicle access, though there is parking close by.
With it being an attic room on the second floor it may not be for people over 6ft 2 or have difficulties with stairs (though the steps are not steep). The bed is a standard double. You'll also find a small fridge, toaster & kettle, with a selection of tea's & coffee, (you'll need to bring your own milk). The pictures tell the story, the house is right on the waters edge, it has a wide sea wall, perfect for sitting on, watching the boats & wildlife come & go. It's only a few minutes walk from shops, ferry terminal/bus stop & museum. You'll also find wonderful displays in the Pier art centre. The room is nice & cosy, but you have space to move around. There's a built in cupboard which is big enough to store luggage away. You also have your own heater, so can control the temperature in the room.
Stromness is a very peaceful place to be, & the house is very secluded even though it's in the town. Orkney has very little crime, so it's a very safe place to be. We also have a public swimming pool, it's situated at the north end of town & of course a 18 hole golf course at the south end (overlooking the Island of Hoy).
  • Susan's accommodation is cosy, clean and comfortable and Susan is a great host. Her home is very central and the views over the harbour are lovely. We had our own bathroom and we also had a toaster and microwave in our room and we really appreciated being able to prepare snacks. Stromness and the Orkneys are great to visit - the scenery is wonderful and there is so much history to learn about. We recommend staying with Susan.

    Jean2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Susan's place is lovely and a great location! Really enjoyed staying in her place which was on the top floor. Susan herself is lovely and happy to provide lots of information regarding where to go and the best things to see! Highly recommend staying here. The only downside was that we didn't have access to kitchen but she provided a microwave, kettle and tea/coffee.

    Alison2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Friendly and helpful host, cosy clean room with a great view of the harbour!

  • Super accommodation right down at the waters edge in Stromness. What a find. The room is spacious, well equiped, super clean .... The location is ideal for getting around Stromness. Susan was a very welcoming host. Would highly recommend this place.

  • The place is clean and cosy, it has a wonderful wonderful view and you can reach anything in Stromness in few minutes. A few houses ahead I could hire a bicycle, a few houses downwards there is a little grocery store. Susan is very reliable and likes to communicate, I really liked chatting with her in between. I was sad that I could not stay longer, it is a beautiful place! Absolutely recommendable!

40 Alfred Street, Stromness is a charming 1800's, 4 star cottage set right on the sea with its own private pier and parking. It has a magnificent view over the sea, with stunning views of sunrises and passing vessels. We also have 4 other Cottages on the sea on the Stromness Harbour, a one bedroom, three-bedroom and two, four-bedroom Cottages. Each Cottage is equipped with absolutely everything including a Cook's Larder (lots of coffees/teas/hot chocolate, condiments etc). Wi-Fi, Library.
This architect re-modelled stone, 1800's, fisherman's cottage - has loads of character and is positioned a few meters from the sea. It has it's own private pier with tables and benches to enjoy and it also has access to the little stony beach at low time via it's own private steps. Parking is right outside the front door. It is equipped with everything possible to a very high 4 star standard. Including a really cosy fireplace if you wish to get seriously snugly!
  • Splendid cottage in a delightful town on a fascinating island. Christmas spent here visiting family who live in Orkney. Was concerned that the cottage in its "in the sea" location might be a bit cold and damp - very quickly we had it cosy and very comfortable. Wonderful sunrises and sunsets with a mix of both millpond and rough seas to enjoy. Even in darkest and cold December there is much to do and see in Orkney and the cottage was absolutely the appropriate location from which to enjoy the island.

    Tony2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rosemary's cottage is in a superb location and Stromness is such an interesting and unique wee town. The cottage is full of interesting bits and pieces and is very comfortable - especially after a day exploring brochs and getting muddy! A home from home.

  • 40 Alfred Street is a spacious yet cosy cottage with its own pier and little beach, making it the ideal place to experience the history and charm of Stromness. The house is exceptionally clean, well stocked and very comfortable. It's ideal for spending quality family time and offers so much more than just a base for exploring the Orkney islands.

    Lindsey2019-04-13T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay - much bigger inside than expected, and the outside has great views. Really felt the history of the cottage and the town while visiting.

    Iain2019-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The standard of this gorgeous house was well above the standard for a holiday rental property, I would not hesitate for a second to recommend it to others.

  • Rosemary's place was absolutely beautiful! It was situated right in town and allowed for easy access to a lot in Stromness. She was also so accessible over email, and always responded very quickly to all of our questions. I would highly recommend staying with Rosemary!

    Bailey2018-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Orkneys, Stromness and our little cottage - a combination made in heaven! Before I talk about Rosemary and The Cottage... the Orkney experience is amazing. After driving around the Islands... Stromness is definitely the place to stay - it is just gorgeous. We loved it! Rosemary is quick to respond and most helpful. We travel a lot and use Airbnb regularly and we both agree that Rosemary's attention to detail and all the little extras she has thought of and generously provided definitely adds to the experience. We loved the cottage and felt right at home, cosy and comfortable. Thank you Rosemary... we hope to return.

  • I stay in hotels at least half the year for my work, so when we take a break I much prefer to stay at home to relax. Fortunately for me there's places like 40 Alfred St., which, despite the cliché, really is a home from home. Despite the mighty storm lashing at the windows it was very cosy inside, the multi-fuel burner warms the house in a jiffy. There was everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, which was very well appointed with high quality white goods. The bedrooms were decorated to a high standard, and very comfortable, although the entrance to the en-suite upstairs requires you to duck a fair bit - charming in its own way! The views out the windows were like ever-changing oil paintings of the sea, and if the weather is good enough there's a lovely little picnic table to eat al-fresco on your own private pier. Communication with the host, Rosemary, was always prompt and friendly, although I haven't told her yet that we inadvertently stole her coffee filter papers (sorry). Couldn't recommend this place highly enough, and we'll definitely be back...

  • We can highly recommend the Cart House at Howe. John has created the perfect space for singles or two-somes looking for a getaway. The twin beds were very comfortable, and the space is decorated with an eclectic sense of witty style. The kitchen is functional (although we really only ate breakfast there) and the shower room has plentiful hot water. The Cart House is warm even when the wind is blowing off the bay, and the view is spectacular. John is friendly and helpful, and every suggestion he made for us was a winner. Thanks for a great visit John!

    Fiona2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A great central location to visit most of the interesting sites Mainland Orkney has to offer. The Carthouse is a cosy place and contains all the neccesary equipment to have a great stay. After spending 5 nights on a campsite we particularily enjoyed the warm showers! Great place, especially if you love chickens!

    Jeske2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • The spot is a gem with a great view, a stylish space, and helpful hosts. We loved the artwork in the space as well as the chickens and cows that came to visit. We would stay again!

    Jacqueline2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a a fantastic time staying in Cart House enjoying all the detail John had put into in making it such a wonderful place. The views are fabulous, the kitchens is well equipped and we could even use the washing machine. John gave us lots of advice on what to see and do in the area and we were so happy that he pointed out rock pools where we went for a swim on a sunny day and to the exact spot where to see Puffins. We hope to come back and stay here again!

    Ron2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at John's place. Was cosy, clean and quirky. John also offered some great tips on places to visit and was very helpful!

  • Best holiday I have ever had - John & Victoria were amazing hosts, attentive but unobtrusive and they went out of their way to ensure I had a great stay, explaining how everything worked & giving me tips on the local area & things to see. I was visiting Orkney for a bit of peace & quiet plus the amazing scenery & wonderful wildlife.... and it didn't disappoint. John & Victoria's accommodation was a wonderful place to enjoy the island and relax in the evening... they had even left me fresh eggs, which were amazing. The Bothy is quirky, comfortable & has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Chickens & cats all added to the welcoming vibe.... I had a great time & really didn't want to leave.... it was a wonderful week on the island, which was largely due to where I was staying. I can't recommend John & Victoria's place highly enough to anybody wanting the appreciate the beauty of the area & the sea view was spectacular..... Thank you so much folks - you really made my stay amazing!

  • The Cart House is a perfect little bolthole in a lovely location with views across to the sea. It is beautifully appointed with lots of interesting vintage artefacts and paintings, everything works, there is plenty of hot water, it is warm and there is good parking. On arrival John left us some of delicious, new-laid eggs from his flock of friendly, free-range chickens. He is a very hospitable host with excellent local knowledge and guided us to locations where we could see local wildlife and archeology and get the best local food. Evie itself is idyllic, close to some important sights for birds and archeology and has a little local shop and a cafe. The landscapes are stunning. We had a perfect stay and were sorry to leave.

Brymire Cottage is a unique and charming cottage, surrounded by farm land and situated in the parish of Tankerness in the East Mainland of Orkney; approximately 2 miles from Kirkwall Airport and 5 miles from Kirkwall Town Centre. Many guests advise that they have not had adequate time to truly view all that Orkney has to offer. Make sure your booking is adequate length for all you want to see and do; as many guests advise that a guest requires at least a four night stay or longer.
Renovated in November 2018 to a high standard, this cottage had a new kitchen and air source heating installed, new decoration, carpets, vinyl and furniture. Each room has a colour scheme linked to Orkney with the bedroom featuring an “Aurora” theme, the living room a “summer/autumnal Orkney” theme, the bath/shower room an “Orkney beach/shoreline” theme and the Kitchen a “weathered Orkney” theme with a cheeky hint of copper reflecting the whisky and distilleries of Orkney. Also featured in the cottage are canvas prints featuring Orkney scenes and nature. I am a super host and also provide self catering accommodation at the next door property, Brymire House. With two self catering properties in close proximity to each other and each with their own private space, I can offer, if bookings allow, grandparents and the son/daughters’ family their own private holiday accommodation and yet they can holiday together or alternatively, two families wishing to holiday together. 28/12/18 - 31.12.18 Review from my first guests; "Had an absolutely fab time at your lovely wee cottage. Wanted for nothing, totally pristine and your hospitality and baking made our holiday. Beautiful photos and beautiful home. Modern facilities, tastefully decorated in a gorgeous part of the world. Brilliant nights sleep and phenomenal value for money" This review was left in the visitor's book by my first guests. Thank you.
The cottage is approximately 3 miles from Sheila Fleet's Jewellery workshop and her Auld Kirk Cafe and this is well worth a visit or two. There is also a gin and vodka distillery in the neighbouring parish of Deerness. Beautiful beaches and walks in the area. Wildlife can be viewed in the area and, on many occasions, from the cottage windows. Birdsong can be heard outside the cottage
  • It's a wonderful, peaceful spot in the country. Not too far away from Kirkwall and a doable holiday spot for those without a car. At night you can see a lot of stars because of the lack of light pollution and the cottage is a great cosy little place. Jacqueline and her husband are always there to help if need be and they are just the kindest of people.

  • Brymire Cottage is absolutely amazing - so welcoming and cozy! It is exactly as shown in the photos. The views over the fields are stunning. Jacqueline has thought of all details. Each room is decorated with an Orcadian theme and the cottage is spotless. The bed is very comfortable and it is a lovely, quiet location. Jacqueline provides lots of information about experiences to have on the islands - things to do and see and places to eat. As well, she kindly left us some Orkney cheese, shortbread and beremeal biscuits. We hope to return to this beautiful cottage.

Alan has a huge knowledge of Orkney and was generous with giving us tips on places to go and things to see. He also helped overcome a problem that we had with our transport which we really appreciated.

Enjoy stunning panoramic sea views from this romantic, rustic one bedroom cottage. Located in an idyllic rural setting, The Little Bothy is the perfect location from which to explore Orkney and offers luxurious accommodation for two people. Located approximately 20 minutes by road from Kirkwall or Stromness, and only 45 minutes from St Margaret’s Hope.
Set within an old Croft, it has been restored in 2018 with all mod cons for a perfect stay. It holds onto the character of Orkney, with intricate details and local traditions.
Rural farm location, peaceful and secluded, with far reaching views across the sea and islands.
  • Penny's excellent reviews are well deserved. We loved the way that Penny and Dave had thought of everything a traveller might need, but couldn't pack, to make a comfy stay. We also loved the luxury injected into tasteful design at The Little Bothy which was just perfect. The views were stunning and the island(s) fascinating. You can not fail to enjoy your time at The Little Bothy.

    Veronica2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We just spent THE MOST fantastic week on Orkney and the little bothy and we are in love! It's a tiny slice of luxury and glamour and we can't wait to return. All the little touches were perfect and Penny was a wonderfully gracious hostess!

    Amy2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at the Little Bothy - it’s truly an amazing place to unwind and relax in front of the incredible view. The place itself is full of thoughtful design and pictures don’t do justice to the incredible view and the homely feel of the place. Highly recommend staying here for anyone looking to visit Orkney! Hosts are so friendly and nice - would love to go back again!

    Zeynep2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely one of the most beautiful and peaceful places I have stayed. The bothy is truly magical and Penny has thought of everything. I don't usually go back to the same place twice but I'd come back here for the peace, quiet and magic of the Orkneys and the bothy. I can recommend visiting in Winter.. where the only people at the sites we visited so had them all to ourselves !! Thank you Penny and David!

    Alexandra2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Everything is to a very high standard. Our stay was magical

    Barbara2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • The "Little Bothy" is a fantastic place to stay, and Penny is a perfect host. The bothy has all the facilities you need (and more), its amazing clean and is well located to explore the Orkney mainland and access the various ferry terminals... if you're going to visit Orkney - you MUST stay here!

    Christopher2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • The Little Bothy is a haven of peace, comfort and inspiration. It is a wondrous place for exploring the treasures of Orkney in a characterful space away from the madding crowd.

    Angela2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Even better than I expected! This tiny cottage has been renovated to an extremely high standard by its very friendly owners, who live (very discreetly) next door. They've provided everything you'd expect and more, including a welcome pack of local foods, some basic supplies (milk, sugar, coffee...), a hairdryer, bath robes, wifi, a small bluetooth speaker, OS maps of all the islands, a thermos flask...I could go on. The Little Bothy is well-placed to explore the mainland or hop over to other islands, but with a view like that, you may not want to leave. You definitely need a car, but driving isn't a problem - the roads are almost completely empty. I thoroughly recommend this delightful property for a peaceful, relaxing break.

  • So Lovely !

    Lauren2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • Langwell Bothy is small but my husband & I found it to be quite comfortable; Elaine & Nigel have made as much as is possible of the available space. The house is easy to find, and within several minutes’ drive of the Stromness port . The view out over the water to Hoy is beautiful, especially at sunset. The rural setting is peaceful, and the Neolithic sites are within a short and scenic drive. We’re glad we chose Langwell Bothy for our visit to Orkney!

    Sandra2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Bothy was perfectly situated in the country, with a lovely view from the bedroom in the morning. The little kitchen was perfect to enjoy some local bread at breakfast. The accommodations were spotless and comfortable. If you are planning a visit to Orkney, I would highly recommend staying at Langwell Bothy.

    Robin2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Elaine’s place is so cozy. Bonus is the electric warming bed, but the absolute gem of everything is the view you wake up to in the morning! It’s been one of the best views we’ve had from any of our rooms this trip, and we’ve been around the whole country.

    Gillian2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • An ideal location to visit every part of the island. It had the most breathtaking views which we woke up to each morning. Beautifully clean and well equipped we could not of wished for anything better. Elaine and Nigel are perfect hosts and always prompt on responding to any questions we had.

    Michelle2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely little place in the countryside, with a fantastic view. Pretty much in the middle of nowhere, yet conveniently located in between all the places you might want to visit in the Orkney mainland. Quiet, peaceful and private

    Carsten2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Langwell Bothy was my best stay so far on my travels through Scotland. Nigel and Elaine were the most spectacular hosts I’ve encountered yet. The space is perfection with every touch you could need to feel at home.

Good location for exploring the main sights of mainland. We would definitely recommend!

No.2 Tiffyhall is close to great views, the beach, and family-friendly activities. You’ll love my place because of the neighbourhood, the light, the comfy bed, the cosiness, and the kitchen. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers, and families (with kids).
No.2 Tiffyhall was previously a small barn on our small croft , which is one of the oldest in the parish and was part of a working farm once owned by the Earl of Zetland. The whole site fell into disrepair and stood empty for 50 years until it was fully renovated and extended in 2008 and has been transformed into a comfortable holiday cottage.
Whether you are looking for a romantic retreat, a rambler’s delight or a family holiday home, No.2 Tiffyhall which forms part of a small croft which has views overlooking Newark Bay and the Pentland Firth to the south, is the perfect place for you to enjoy Orkney and its Isles.
  • A wonderful little home with everything you could need for a comfortable break. Beautiful location and Karen is very friendly. Highly recommended!

    Gary2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Tiffyhall is a very comfortable holiday cottage. The view from the big window is completely stunning. All the facilities are excellent. The additional treats that Karen provides are very tasty.

    Sharron2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The stay at Karen was very nice. Karen is a very kind person. She takes care of you as if you are part of her family. She welcomes you with "Scones", a pastry from England, with fresh eggs and local products from the gin distillery. The accommodation is very clean and contains everything you need to feel good.

    Mathilde2019-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • The converted barn at Tiffy Hall is absolutely beautiful. It is very spacious and has everything you need and more for your stay. Karen was there to meet us when we arrived and had made us some scones and left fresh eggs for us from her own chickens! There is a lot of info on the info sheet and various books and pamphlets about the area. The lounge and bedroom has fantastic views over the neighboring farms and to the sea and Orkney has much to offer in terms of tourism. We had an amazing stay at Tiffy Hall, thank you Karen, and we hope to be back someday 😊.

  • This was an amazing place. Karen and her husband are perfect hosts, the space was well taken care of, and the area was splendid. A great plus was how quick the WiFi was for my husband who had work to do on the road. A phenomenal place with perfect hosts. Scones, jam and cream, eggs, and milk on check in was wonderful.
