  • Great place

    Jordan2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • A super great and very clean apartment right on the water. Very lovingly and modernly furnished. Everything you needed was there. The kitchen in particular was very well equipped and you could prepare great food yourself. The bus stop into town is only a 5-minute walk away. Ricardo is a nice and very friendly host. Communication was very easy. Had the apartment not been rented out again after us, we would have stayed longer.

  • This place was ADORABLE! Very clean, the apartment is updated and stylish. It’s right on the water, which made for a nice view. It’s very conveniently located with plenty of things around. Ricardo was very friendly and accommodating, and the entire stay was flawless. I would definitely stay here again if I get back to the area!!

  • This place was perfect me and my girlfriend. Great location to travel into downtown New Haven. As well as some great perks with a fully functioning kitchen that allowed us to cook our own meals instead of depending on eating out or doing take out. High suggest this Airbnb and will definitely be back.

Downtown loft apartment in the heart of downtown New Haven and blocks from the Omni Hotel. Enjoy a show or have a drink - this beautiful loft is in the heart of it all.
The space seeks to meld technology and comfort. From Alexa-controlled gadgets to over-sized pillows, the environment is perfect for the out of town commuter to a student on an interview.
Downtown New Haven is the neighborhood located in the heart of the city of New Haven, Connecticut. It is made up of the original nine squares laid out in 1638 to form New Haven, including the New Haven Green, and the immediate surrounding central business district, as well as a significant portion of the Yale University campus. The area includes many restaurants, cafes, theaters and stores. The area bounded by Chapel and Crown Streets is a popular stretch of restaurants, boutiques and bars located across from the Old Campus of Yale University. Includes such historic establishments as Union League Cafe and the c. 1934 Owl Shop cigar lounge. The Anchor Bar, notable for its Art Moderne style and popularity with playwright Thornton Wilder, operated on College Street from the 1940s until 2015. The area is largely coterminous with the Chapel Street Historic District. Notable buildings include the Hotel Taft and the Chapel Square Mall. The Yale University Art Gallery and Yale Center for British Art are also located here.
  • I had a wonderful stay at Andre’s! It was a lovely space and a perfect location. Will definitely book again if in New Haven!

  • Andre's place is great! Walking distance to a lot of awesome spots in the city. Clean and accurate to the description. Great place for a stopover in New Haven!

  • Great place and an amazing host. Close to great restaurants, the Yale campus, and the museum.

    Gonzalo2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Andre's place was perfect for my husband and I to spend the night after a show at the College Street Music Hall. The location could not have been better - just a couple blocks from the Crowne St Garage, the Music Hall, and tons of restaurants and bars (we had a delicious meal and margaritas at Geronimo's). The king size bed was very comfy, and the whole place was very modern and clean. We'll definitely keep it in mind the next time we catch a show in New Haven!

    Becca2020-02-08T00:00:00Z

  • I stayed at Julia's for five weeks and it was a home away from home. Julia is an exemplary host, who really meant it when she said, "Make yourself at home." I strongly recommend her place to anyone looking for somewhere for an extended stay in New Haven. Her house is within easy reach of Downtown, even if you don't have a car: buses run fairly regularly from outside her house or a ten-minute walk away at the top of the street. Her kitchen is really well-equipped, and completely at your disposal, so catering for yourself is totally feasible (key tip: the nearest supermarkets are just a single bus ride away, either Elm City Market in Downtown or the Stop & Shop off Whalley Avenue (for the more budget option)). I really appreciated how Julia encouraged me to make full use of the place: whether cooking in the kitchen, working at the dining room table, reading or watching tv in the living room, or using the downstairs bathroom. The room I stayed in is at the back of the house, overlooking the yard, and is nice and quiet; virtually no traffic noise and perfectly private.

    James2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • Julia and Peter are the best hosts one can ask for! They were extremely generous and friendly and staying at their beautiful house was simply great. You will find everything you need, the room is nice, the bed very comfortable, the kitchen kitchen equipped with all you might need and if you fancy a walk by the sea, that is just minutes away.

    Anna2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! The house may be older, but the interior is very well designed and decorated. The downstairs bathroom is so fun. The host is very responsive and friendly. I would definitely stay here again. The two cats are extremely well-behaved.

    John2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay for visiting prospective students. I will look for a room here if I have to visit again.

  • Wonderful hosts! I stayed here for a month and they went above and beyond what I expected to make me feel at home. Courteous, kind, welcoming. Beautifully decorated. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the new haven area.

  • I loved my stay at Julia’s house so much and I was very warm welcomed. Everything was perfect prepared, communication was pretty friendly / uncomplicated and I got very detailed check-in instructions. The room is so lovely & comfortable and the bed is so snuggly that you don’t want to get up ;-) Highly recommended to stay there to feel like home. Thanks a lot!

  • Julia's home is lovely! My friend and I stayed for a night to attend a wedding in nearby Branford. In a rush to get ready for the wedding, we so appreciated how helpful Peter was in getting us the iron and hair dryer we needed! We felt very welcomed and had everything we needed.

  • Katt and I really enjoyed the space, it was very neat and had a good number of cool plants. It was close to where we needed to be but a comfortable distance from downtown that it was quiet. Would definitely recommend.

  • They are very responsive. Snacks were provided as well as some other nice touches . Very nice host .

    Angel2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • I've been staying in airbnb's around New Haven for the past 4 years and Paul's place is definitely my favorite! The area is safe and convenient to many grocery stores and restaurants. There is plenty of space in the apt for 4 ppl and it is clean and bright with a very charming outdoor patio area with a view of the river. It is also an OUTSTANDING value. It is by far the best for your money in the area!

Comfy leather queen bed with hardwood floors, desk/chair & clothes rack. Free umbrellas, free printing, free bikes, free day storage for guests! 2 minutes walk to restaurants, bars and Yale, free basic bicycles available to guests, free washer dryer with free laundry detergents, high speed wifi. Pls read check-in instructions once you've booked. House has foolproof security system/codes & security cameras. Pls be advised that there is no air conditioning. Window fans with screens are provided. Parking is free, openly available outside house on street.
Note: Lilly Pad has 5 rooms, is for students and is no frills. If you are a party of 2, select 2 guests. So you share common space with others. Plus we have 7 Bengal Cats and their kittens that live outside the house in their own housing chambers but you will see their supplies around the back or front yard. Other student guests staying here may make your stay good, great or not so good. It depends who books. So if you are not a student, or have a problem putting on your own bedsheets, or stripping them at checkout, or have a problem with students storing their luggage or me crashing out in living room at times, or have any issues with the detailed instructions I send after you book, talk to me first or do not book. I do not want a 4 star review because you were not made aware of what to expect here. Skip the review or please do not book if your expectations are different. Check in anytime. Just follow self checkin process. Any questions or anything pls feel free to call or text. We have lot of guests and its difficult to manage expectations especially for non yalie visitors as house is really geared for no frill Yalies. Cosy, ideal for Yale visitors. The room is part of a victorian home that has been a welcoming spot for Yalies for last 4 years. It is not a hotel. It is a lived-in space and has many visitors. Therefore if you are expecting a hotel, this is not it. Cleanliness and organization is important for me the host and I hope it is important to you as well but please keep in mind sometimes because of people checking in, checking out, cooking, studying, typing, printing assignments, house gives a "lived-in" look. Price is lower than what comparable homes ask for on Airbnb. Amenities and proximity to Yale is comparable if not better than a lot, if not most, of the options on Airbnb. But if you are for immaculate cleanliness a hotel is probably a better option (at three times the price in downtown New Haven). Also note, when in town, I often end up crashing out in the living room couch - full disclosure. House has a lived-in look. You will see residents luggage in living room or people coming in and out. Noise: There may be 3 potential sources of noise. (1) Street people and downtown cars playing loud music. There is nothing that can be done about this. It comes with living downtown close to Yale. (2) Next door neighbors playing music. There is a New Haven City Ordinance that requires peace and quiet after 9 pm. If you encounter annoying music played by neighbors, read my printed instructions regarding making a noise complaint with the New Haven police printed in the hallway/stairs and make the complaint call. (3) Other Guests talking loudly in the house. Remember you are one of the several guests staying. So if someone talks loudly and you find it disturbing, please either tell me or talk to the loud guest and let him/her know to keep it down. These things are beyond my control, as I have open booking on Air BnB. Therefore do not book if you expect a library environment. I don't need a 4 star review based on sounds that are not in my control. Note on Clutter: Free Storage provided to guests on main floor adds to the clutter. Additionally there is always some element of improvements taking place on premises. This place is for Yale students and no frills travelers who are looking for budget and safe travel options at Yale. There is no clutter on 2nd and 3rd floors, where the rooms are located. Also, if instructions on self checkin scare you, please do not book. Watch the self checkin video. Security and guidelines help all. Hence the elaborate instructions you get when you book. Cameras & Security at Yale: Please note Yale has iffy neighborhoods. I have EXTERNAL security cameras. So if you have an issue with external security cameras, pls do not book. Specifically, 2 EXTERNAL security cameras (in front and back of house), a Security System with motion sensor on ground floor. No sensors/cameras on 2nd/3rd floors.
5 minutes walk to Old Yale Campus. 2nd house from Elm Street. Step out of Lilly Pad. Make right on Elm. You will be at Yale in 5 minutes. Step out of Lilly Pad. Make left on Elm, grocery superstore Stopnshop is 30 seconds walk.
  • This place is just a stones throw from all the major landmarks in downtown. Excellent place for students and job traveller's. I came here and stayed for a week and Aly is a great human being who will talk to you as if he knows you from ages. Great experience. His instructions are mind blowing in airbnb.

    Satish2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful and quaint New England house with a kind, accommodating, and welcoming host. The walk to Yale and downtown New Haven is easy and short, and the security of the house made me (a single woman traveling alone) feel very safe and comfortable. The house is laid out similarly a very nice student hostel, with common areas and bathrooms, but private and secure rooms for individual guests, each with a name, theme, comfortable beds and ample storage. There is access to laundry/iron, kitchen, and living spaces, great internet, and Aly was kind enough to let me use the printer as well. The posting is honest about it being a shared home with no frills, so don’t expect a pristine and untouched 5star hotel, but a well-loved and lived in space that is safe, comfortable, and budget-friendly. I don’t normally leave reviews but really enjoyed my experience and hope to come back on my next trip to New Haven!

    Anna2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Convenient location

    Shayne2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Though it is no-frills, it was easy to find what you needed as everything is spelled out for you. The room was nice and warm. Comfy bed. Lived-in but really clean. Checking in and out was a breeze. Aly was very responsive. Yale within walking distance.

    Justin2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • I def recommend Aly's place! It is perfect for a short stay. Probably one of the closest Airbnb to the university. The toilets were clean and Aly is a quick responder. The place includes a massive amount of security protections, such as cameras and walk-in codes, which some people might find intimidating, but I've found restful.

  • If you are looking for a place with all the stops near Yale, look no further. Alex had everything from extra hangers, a steamer, and extremely good water pressure in the shower, to breakfast food, a PUR water filter, and an extremely comfortable bed. I loved every minute of this stay and will be booking again in the future!

  • I had a great stay in New Haven. A nice walk to downtown or an $8 Lyft ride. Close to Yale Campus. The wine is delicious and dangerous. the bed was comfy and a nice place to stay.

    Angela2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great problem-free stay at Alex's. The room is cozily furnished and was nicely prepared. We could park right in front of the house and Alex has parking passes for that. I most appreciate that Alex has clear instructions and the location is great - It's a pleasant ~1 mile walk past campus buildings to the center of Yale campus/downtown.

Due to viral issues in the world, we have taken the upmost precautions to sanitize professionally. Welcome to the best of New Haven! Comfortable, modern, clean, sun-filled loft overlooking the Wooster Square Green.Intentionally designed and well-equipped above and beyond. Located on the famous Court Street, everything is just a short walk away. 2 blocks from Wooster Street (best pizza in the world), 10 minute walk to downtown New Haven, Yale, restaurants, bars, train station, and art museums.
Our loft is created for comfort and functionality with extreme attention to detail. Enjoy wifi, Netflix, and bluetooth compatibility as you relax on a day off. The sofa bed offers an incredible queen memory foam mattress for extra guests. Need to work? Utilize the desk space and USB charging stations througout the apartment. Make some coffee or a cup of tea on us, grab a book and curl up on the couch, or simply bask culture of Court Street on our porch. This loft has it all.
New Haven's Court street is like it's "own little town". What makes the Court Street rowhouses delightful for urban dwellers is their repetitively residential nature with stair-accessed stoops and small-scale detailing amid the city hubbub. The loft is located in one of the few houses overlooking Wooster Square. It's quiet, safe, packed with culture and food, and best of all - just minutes to everything.
  • Alex & Josh definitely have one of the best properties in New Haven with very fine touches. They were always quick to respond. It was an immense pleasure to stay at their property. Highly recommended to everyone.

I followed every tip of tours and restaurants. It's the best Airbnb experience I've had. Barb and Jonah answered me very quickly. Private room located in the Wooster Square area, downtown, very close to Yale, in a safe neighborhood. The bed is new and a very comfy memory foam bed. The room overlooks Wooster Park, with two big windows. You have access to free WIFI, a full kitchen, and a living room with a couch, and a closet in your bedroom
This is no frills. A new single bed, clean sheets, a bathroom that gets cleaned every day and very close to the downtown and Yale. Very safe neighborhood, in the heart of Wooster Square, near the famous New Haven pizza restaurants. Two other rooms in the building, both airbnb guests, most people are students coming to Yale for interviews or visits. Please note that this bedroom is very small. There is a small closet located in your bedroom with hangers.
very old Italian neighborhood, with many students and families

  • Room is close to Yale, check-in was easy via lock box. For the price it was what I expected—cheapest room available on airbnb. Towel and sheets were clean😀. There is no a/c, but there’s a small fan. Bed is on a stand that may be precarious for an overweight person, but fine otherwise. The knob for hot water is missing in the shower, but you can still twist it with your hand. Overall, you get what you pay for. I think the price is fair considering its location. Good for a short no-frills stay.

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Linzi's home. The downstairs of the Victorian is a full apartment, very pretty and comfortable. The view was also excellent as the sun set over the water. Linzi was easy to coordinate with and her family upstairs was quiet. The whole stay was easy and comfortable -- just what I want from my airbnbs.

    Hilary2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • An awesome, classy, clean home with lots of room, high ceilings, comfy furniture, good shower. The surrounding area isnt the draw, its the proximity to the water and Yale/downtown New Haven. Great communication with the owners and easy access. Excellent stay!

This is a no frills attic loft room with 1 full bed, hardwood floor, spa sensations memory foam mattress. Ideal for 1 or 2 people who will spend day time at Yale. Free umbrellas, free printing, free bikes, free day storage for guests! 2 minutes walk to restaurants, bars and Yale, free basic bicycles available to guests, free washer dryer with free laundry detergents, high speed wifi. Pls read check-in instructions. House has foolproof security. Pls note there is no AC. Window fans are provided. Parking is free, openly available outside the house on street.

Nice, quiet location overlooking Wooster Square, with easy walking to great pizza, good coffee, delicious Italian pastries. We could walk or quickly drive to the Yale campus. Beautiful, clean, comfy, cozy apartment, located in the heart of New Haven's melting pot. Hardwood floors, ceiling fan, and a big backyard with a fire place. Less than ten minutes walk to Yale New Haven Historical district and school. Located close to public transportation, however, also a ten minute walk from down town New Haven and the New Haven Green. In the opposite direction, my house is also located within a ten minute walking distance of Westville also known as "The Art District" .
  • great place to live. it's like another home .

  • Great home for a great price that is very close to Yale!! Would highly recommend

    Jared2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great value! The apartment was very clean and stylish, and a great price for a whole two bedroom apartment to yourself. The neighborhood was quiet and within walking distance to the downtown area. Parking was easy to find and Sheber was very communicative during our stay. Essentials were provided—the only very minor issue that we had was realizing there were no coffee cups for our coffee in the morning! We found a few styrofoam cups under the sink that we were able to use, but just a note to other coffee addicts like myself that you may want to make sure you have all the dishes/utensils you need before you start preparing your breakfast. All around, we had a great stay and would definitely consider staying here again if we come back to New Haven!

    Kristin2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Sheber is responsive and a clear communicator, the place is a great value, spacious. Yes, the bathroom fixtures were dated and can use some love, but the place was clean, hot water was hot, and Sheber was great to deal with.

    Jay2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was very clean! Comfy beds and couch. Sheber is so nice and attentive. This was our first Air BnB experience and it was a great!

This is an attic loft (room) with 2 beds and recently updated hardwood floors (even though pic shows carpet). You rent the whole room. It is ideal for 2 or 3 people who will spend day time at the university. AC is now installed for summer months. Free umbrellas, free printing, free bikes, free day storage for guests! Quiet, cosy, ideal for Yale visitors. The room is part of a Victorian home that has been a welcoming spot for Yalies for last 4 years. It is not a hotel. It is a lived-in space & has many visitors. If you are expecting a hotel, this is not it.
Room has 100 percent privacy. NOTE: Room has an extremely comfortable queen and a reasonable twin bed. But it is loft (attic) room. It is ideal for two or three people who want to be close to Yale and do not mind walking two flights of steps. AC is installed in the room which you will need in June and July and August. Cost of booking room includes use of A.C. Fans are also provided. 2 minutes walk to restaurants, bars and Yale, free bikes available to guests, free washer dryer with free laundry detergents, high speed wifi. Please read check-in instructions once you have booked. House has foolproof security system/codes and security cameras. Please be advised that window fans with screens are provided. Parking is free, openly available outside the house on street. No need for permit. I have one spot for off-street parking available. Cleanliness and organization is important but please keep in mind sometimes because of people checking in, checking out, cooking, studying, typing, printing assignments, house gives a "lived-in" look. Price is lower than what comparable homes ask. But if you are for immaculate cleanliness a hotel is probably a better option (at 3 times the cost).
  • Worth the price! Bedroom on the 3rd floor is actually quiet, security provides a safe living condition.

Blocks from downtown New Haven, the private apartment is simple, no frills place for you to crash for the night. It has a refrigerator, oven, small coffee maker, a window ac, a box fan, a queen bed with an additional twin cot, a sofa, a chair, a small dinette, one towel is provided for each guest. This is a private apartment in a home with other apartments as well. It is close to downtown so there is downtown noise. Let us know if you have questions and look forward to having you there!
The Oak Suite is a private apartment close to downtown with original wood floors, windows that let a lot of sunshine in, your own private kitchen and bathroom, a dinette, sofa and closet. Please note that it is in an old house in a somewhat urban/residential area of New Haven. Some see the photos and think it is a spa experience or something. It is not. It is a crashpad. Think crashpad. It's a rough and ready place to stay. You need to understand this. If you do, then happy to have you!
The neighborhood is residential, but very close to downtown New Haven. New Haven is known as the "mini New York." We have a wide variety of people from all walks of life. When I first moved here from South Dakota, I felt this was a rough area, but then, after a few trips to New York, I feel it is a nice area. So it's really very much on your perspective. You will note that New Haven has a lot of homeless people. There is a long historical/political discussion as to why they are there, however, the majority of the concentration is downtown. They also drift to the rest of New Haven as well - should one ask for money, it is not advisable too do that as there are many programs, food, etc for them and any money given is typically used for things that are not what they say it is for. It may be different in other cities, however, in New Haven, this is something to be aware of. The Oak Suite Apartment is right where it starts turning from downtown to residential. However, because it is close to downtown, there is still a lot of people and noise.
  • Great stay. Naomi's place matches the description perfectly. No frills but just what we needed for a night out in New Haven.

  • This is a nice place. Cozy. But is exactly as advertised. Overall a nice place to stay at an affordable price. Great location. Easy access to the rest of the town by foot or car depending on how much you like to walk. A good value for the money.

    James2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the antique charm of this unit. It was the perfect place to lay our heads after a long day and the perfect jumping off point to explore New Haven. Basic accommodations reminded me of crashing at a friends place vs a hotel. Though old, it felt pretty darn clean compared to the last couple places we've stayed on this trip. We were expecting the road noise, it's on a pretty busy street near a hospital, but still got a good nights sleep. If you're around on a sunny afternoon the light that comes in the windows is amazing.

Most guests are students passing through town. It is a very quiet and safe neighborhood. This room will be available as long as Airbnb continues to operate during the pandemic. Extra cleaning with Clorox and Lysol is done in your room. Your room will be vacant for at least 3 days before you arrive. The bathroom is shared. Charming home built in 1916 with lots of updates features. The house is located less than 10 mins to most of downtown New Haven. Walking distance to Hopkins School and Yale Fields. The home includes the following for guests: Wi-Fi One private bath One shared bath Shared kitchen and dining area. Completely private 3rd floor apartment There is a microwave and mini fridge in the living room of the apartment for quick easy meals. Light noise from passing cars can be heard in the bedroom.
The house is very tranquil with lots of areas to relax and enjoy the views of the woods in the back and sides of the property. We are constantly updating and working on home improvement to make the space the best it can be for guests. It is a very private house as we are barely ever there. The house is shared with other guests on the second floor but the third floor is a private apartment accessed through the second floor. The kitchen in the house is shared by all as well as all ground floor rooms. Most all guests are traveling nurses at Yale university hospital but occasionally a student or professional. We vet all our guests and give as much information about who they will be living with in the home to make their stays as comfortable as possible.
We are 5 min walk to a gas station and a pizza/sub restaurantas well as a Japanese restaurant and a liquor store. We are about 10-15 drive to downtown New Haven, New Haven University, Union station, Hopkins School and Yale Campus. We are also a 10 min drive to the Yale Hospital.

very old neighborhood of families and students
  • The space is as advertised, bare bones, but it works if that is all you need. Do not expect anything more than what is listed and pictured. The house is old but it is kept clean. Check-in and out is very easy. Additionally, check-in is earlier than most place and check-out is later than most places which is really nice. We would stay again.

  • Rose responds quick and is extremely accurate. Also had some great local recommendations.

  • Great place to stay for a quick trip!

    Janelle2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great price and great communication. Place is priced appropriately. Basic bed and good location. Place is old but very very clean. A few homely touches could really make this place extremely comfortable. But if you don’t even mind any of that, this place is totally excellent for those days you need a place to comfortably crash for an evening or a couple days in a pinch for a price that is very reasonable! Extremely easy to communicate with.

very suburban setting, tree lines streets, plenty of off street free parking, and close to Yale, SCSU and other colleges in the area
  • Great place to crash for a night or two. Simple, to the point, exactly what I needed for my 1 night stay. To get to Yale, there are multiple buses that you can take. Bus stop is 5 min away (walking). They provide clothing iron, coffee, and a common area to relax.

    Daniel2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Simple, clean accommodations, very nice and responsive host. Easy check in and is close to a bus line.

  • Rose’s place is convenient, safe and also felt like home. She is an awesome host & I would definitely stay at her place again. It’s a great value especially when your on a tight budget.

    Kyre2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • The best

    Patrick2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rose's place is more like a hostel than a hotel or a typical room in someone's house. And, it is valued as such. You're staying on the second floor with 2 other guests in their own rooms. You can hear when people walk by in the hallways. But the entire house is generally very quiet and the other guests keep to themselves. The austere room itself is clean. The bathroom and "kitchenette" is clean enough for a shared living space. There is K-cup coffee to get your day started. Some paper plates and plastic utensils so you can eat in if you prefer. Street parking was plentiful and safe. We did not walk to Yale or downtown, but the immediate neighborhood felt friendly. Overall, the booking was exactly what I wanted: a room to stay/sleep for cheap. This is not a "bargain" place. You get what you pay for. And for us, it was perfect. Thank you, Rose, for providing this alternative to the more expensive listings in town.

  • Alex and his home are fantastic. He is by far the most thorough host I’ve ever had. He’s thought of literally everything - from how to self-check in and where to find the recycling, to extra toiletries and blankets - but was still available to answer questions if we had any. I had a great time, and I highly recommend Alex’s place to anyone thinking of coming to New Haven!

For rent by the day: Sunny room with private entrance and deck. Pretty, walkable neighborhood near Yale, gourmet grocery stores, a park and restaurants. Share bath and kitchen with host. Breakfast offered. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated but host has to know in advance. Come and go as you please. Host doesn't accept bookings longer than one week. *Be sure to read "Other things to note" below.
Room has it's own exterior door and key. There is wifi, a comfortable reading chair and lamps, a table for laptop and a piano. It is attractively furnished. *There is a recent change in the bed. It is no longer a pull-out couch but a nice, comfortable double bed.
This is a neighborhood with many attractive Victorian style houses and big old trees. Since it is near the university, there are a lot of young people about, as well as older professor types and homeowners. East Rock Park is nearby which has lovely walking trails.
  • Thanks!

    Justin2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great choice for anyone heading over to Yale. About a 20min walk from campus, and there's good bus options as well. Jeanne was a great host and I enjoyed my stay very much. There's an upright piano in the guest room, so it would be the perfect place for pianists auditioning at Yale.

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • I would highly recommend staying with Jeanne! Check in was a breeze and she left lots of helpful notes around the room and apartment. Great location in a nice neighborhood in east rock, safe and quiet neighborhood that was walkable to some nice restaurants and cafes. The bed was ridiculously comfortable and I had one completely unintentional nap because of it! Above all Jeanne was lovely!

    Rosika2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Host is so nice and kind

    Ji2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • With relatively short notice, Jeanne hosted me for a quick overnight stay while I visited the school. I also let her know that I would be arriving relatively late, after 10:30pm. Despite this, Jeanne still agreed to host me and even welcomed me, personally, when I arrived. I slept well that evening and was able to make the most of that next day. The private entrance/exit also enabled me to check out quickly the next morning, and for my purposes, the location was ideal. Highly recommend.

    Miguel2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Very nicely appointed room, comfortable and private. Jeanne leaves lots of notes so you know exactly what to do. The location is wonderful, and we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go.

    Sarah2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jeanne's place was a perfect location for getting to and from a single night event at Yale that I attended. On a cold cold February night it was warm & comfy. Immediate close access to the kitchen and bath. Breakfast items and drinks were ready and waiting. She has notes for all the questions you might have. Fast clear communication in making my reservation. On street parking was a breeze. Travelers, you know what I mean - how was the bed? Glorious. If I had to stay a week I'd do so in a heartbeat. Lot's of nice touches!
