  • Our only regret about staying with Charmaine was that we didn't stay longer! She was a superb host and made us feel at home. The bed was very comfortable and the sheets were crisp, which made getting into bed an almost dream-like experience. The house was easy to find and the location was quiet with beautiful rural scenery. Charmaine's home was spotless. She provided many thoughtful touches, including bottled water, coffee/tea and a lovely continental breakfast. Thanks, Charmaine. We miss you already!

    Carolyn (Carrie)2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine is the quintessential host. Her home is gorgeous, beautifully positioned on top of a hill overlooking Killarney. Sunset and sunrise is magnificent. Everything was as described even better. Guests have a private section of her home with a very comfortable bed and spotlessly clean bathroom amenities. We took her up on her generous dinner offer which was a two course heartily delicious meal. Her ginger pudding is to die for. Charmaine's conversational skills and geninue warmth are her forte. We felt so at home almost instantaneously. She also made our dog Digger very welcome. We highly recommend a stay at her gorgeous home and hope to visit again.

    Megan2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed with Charmaine for a few days at the suggestion of a work colleague. The stay was sensational, very friendly and supportive of my work demands. I’m staying in Killarney for 6 weeks and I have chosen to stay with Charmaine for all that time. The good old fashioned country hospitality is truely family like.

    Glenn2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful outlook over the town of Killarney and nearby farms. A very peaceful place to stay, with Charmaine being a great host, with a very tasty added extra option of a home cooked meals I can thoroughly recommend!

    Carolyn2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Charmaine is wisest woman I have ever met. Not only does she provide comfortable accommodation for my family, but she also gives me warm suggestions for my life. Be happy is what I have learned from her. Thanks a lot.

My girls loved collecting eggs with Rhondda. The room and gardens are beautiful. Recommend the nearby Killarney Hotel for good pub grub. Highly recommend!

    Julie2019-04-29T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely country gentleman on a property with a spectacular view, very peaceful place to stay.

    Jasmine2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • The hospitality given at this property was nothing less than the reviews I read_awesome. I had high expectations given all the reviews were high and it was definitely met. Unfortunately I only stayed 1 night and we got in quite late after getting lost, but Bruce made us feel at home and I really enjoyed the personal additions he made which I've never had as I have never done air bnb. I thought it would be uncomfortable staying at a random house but this was not how I felt when I was there. I recommend Bruce's residence highly for those wanting more out of their farm experience. The place was well kept and homey.

    Regan2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce is an amazing host - it’s like meeting an old friend. He is warm, friendly and very hospitable and the place just feels like home. We very much enjoyed sitting outside taking in the views with our cheese and wine. A great place to relax and use as a base to explore the other surrounding towns.

    Trish2019-04-20T00:00:00Z
  • Bruce is a fantastic host, the facilities and the picturesque location was wonderful.

    Daryn2019-04-12T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place to stay. Bruce is friendly and a super host. The stars are amazing. Lovely comfortable beds too

    Liz2019-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 recommended! Bruce’s place is the perfect place to stay for a get-away-from-the-city-life trip. It is clean, nice and has everything you need, all amenities, all appliances. Bruce is very friendly, thoughtful and fun. If you want to get the local information, he is the best person to talk to! He will give you the best travel advice. Also, he is full of amazing experience and stories as well as a good company. I had a lovely time staying at Bruce’s. When I looked up to the sky at night, it was a complete open view with the Milky Way. I saw the orange moon raising from the horizon, I saw shooting stars, I saw the beauty of nature. When I woke up in the morning, cool breeze was blowing through even it was hot summer and cattle were wandering around, eating grass. I also had a taste of Aussie farm life. If you are looking for a nice place to stay near Warwick/ Main Range National Park for a relaxing time, look no further. :)

Beautiful Whole Farmhouse in the Condamine Gorge near Killarney and Queen Mary Falls. Great place for families to be families without TV and WIFI. Lots of swings in trees, creeks, gentle cows in paddocks, outdoor and indoor fireplaces with spectacular views up and down the gorge. Located in the beautiful Scenic Rim under two hours drive from Brisbane. There is also currently no mobile reception (plus for some, negative for others!), but there is a free landline phone.
The house has four bedrooms with enough beds to sleep 10 people. There is also a large central space with two couches that can sleep another 2 people, and heaps of space for more camping beds etc if you have them. It is a fantastic place for large family get togethers. The linen and towels are all up there with the beds all made up. There is also an outside undercover firepit with cooking plates and camp ovens, a modern BBQ with wokburner and indoor fires. Firewood is included and stacked on the verandah ready to go. Outside is the magnificent Condamine Gorge, and large flat lawn areas for kids to play soccer and cricket. Pets and horses are welcome. The drive from Brisbane is via Boonah and is simply beautiful the whole way, it sets the tone for a wonderfully scenic getaway.
  • My friends and I came here for my 21st. We had such an awesome time! We loved going on little walks on the property and looking at the amazing scenery. The animals came straight up to us when we arrived and we loved having them around. The beds were so comfortable and the house was stylish! Thank you for the visit! We definitely want to come back.

  • A brilliant place to relax. You feel like a million miles away from it all.

    Chris2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • All the positive comments from previous reviews tell the story. Friendly animals, good comms with host, lots of thoughtful touches such as flowers, wine, chocolates, etc. It was very hot outside when we arrived but house was quite cool. Ceiling fans in all the bedrooms very helpful. I’d suggest that if you go in summer, use the BBQ for meals and plan accordingly. There was a total fire ban this weekend, so no campfire, and the wood stove in kitchen would make the house too hot. (No other oven or hotplates in kitchen). We had delicious meals on the BBQ- roast lamb leg, rosemary potatoes (using rosemary from the garden) and salad. Kitchen is well equipped. Lovely location, perfect for a relaxing weekend.

  • My husband and I stayed with Bruce for only 1 night. We were so happy with our accomodation, we had a room with an en-suite that was very warm and comfortable. Bruce is a great host, very welcoming and easy to get along with. We loved seeing the sheep and meeting Buddy, a sheep Bruce hand raised. We will definitely stay with Bruce if we visit the area again.

Kelvin Falls is a 2000 acre, working cattle property, which features a picturesque rural outlook with open grazing, seasonal flowing creeks and rugged gorges.
The cosy, two bedroom worker's cottage offers a peaceful retreat for couples or families, with a double bed in the first bedroom, and a single bed with a roll-away single bed in the second. The kitchenette has a small oven & stove, a refrigerator, and cookware and utensils are provided. There is also a gas barbecue available, along with a campfire with wood provided for boiling a billy or roasting marshmallows under the stars. (also Pet Friendly!)
We recommend a trip to the Granite Belt to sample some fantastic fresh fruit and veg, plus of course world class wineries. Queen Mary Falls is also a great attraction for locals and visitors alike.
  • We have stayed with Andrew and family before. Another great stay in a serene environment. Just what was needed to get away from the busy and noisy city.

  • Our little family had an amazing two night stay at Kelvin Falls. The cottage is super cute with lots of thoughtful touches. It really has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing farm stay - even toys to keep the kids entertained. Andrew and Rowena were lovely hosts. Can't speak highly enough about the breakfast basket complete with freshly baked bread. Kids fell in love with the friendly dogs. Campfire and heated blankets kept us toasty warm at night. The trip has left us relaxed and renewed. Country air, spectacular scenery and a simple tech free weekend was just what we needed. Thanks for having us and allowing us to experience your beautiful part of the world.

  • Kelvin Falls is a scenic cattle property, within easy distance of a number of local attractions - and a lovely relaxing spot just to spend time at. Andrew and family were welcoming, and their very friendly dogs adopted us as their own. We enjoyed feeding the chickens and collecting their eggs. The cottage is very cute, and worked well for our two night stay with 2 adults and 2 young children.

  • When the drought is over and Dianne is having guests back please do yourself a favour and stay here as her guest. Simply satisfying. To look out over the fields early morning to the hills is divine and the old schoolhouse itself so homely. Brilliant for three couples or family of six. All the best Dianne.

  • Wonderful relaxing weekend Warm comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen as we cooked the local produce we purchased Garden was great, fully fenced, dog exhausted from exploring. So relaxing watching the autumn leaves falling. Plenty of room for all

    Kim2019-06-16T00:00:00Z
  • Dianne’s place is a delight. We felt so privileged to be in a space where one could explore the entire time. It is a step back in time with comfy beds, old fashioned roses, a fragrant herb garden, fully gauzed verandahs to sit in a wicker chair and flip through the many beautiful books while sipping tea from a china pot, (complete with chook tea cosy)! We even had a yarn with the neighbour over the back fence about his farm. We loved the modern kitchen that looked retro and also the clean and stylish bathrooms. Beneath the nostalgia and country charm was good internet, heating, a dishwasher and a large tv though- so everyone could stay in touch with work and school in comfort. If you’re searching for a sleek, smicko- minimalist house to spend the weekend, don’t pick this one. She is a grand dame with lots of love and a peek into the past.

  • This house is a destination. Positioned in a beautiful field on the outskirts of Warwick, it has been beautifully restored with so much attention to detail. Many areas to relax and enjoy company. A great place for a holiday.

  • Comfortable place with charm reminding me of grand old Queenslander houses of my youth, coupled with the convenience of thoughtful modern renovations.

    Jerry2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely weekend stay with my parents and kids. It really is a home away from home and we were all impressed with how lovely the house is. Laura has thought of absolutely everything and made us feel really welcome. The house is in a good spot with lovely views off the back deck with plenty of privacy.

    Aimee2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Laura’s house is more than just a house, it is a warm, welcoming Hampton’s style home. It is very comfortably air conditioned for the summer months and there is a fire in the lounge room for the cold Warwick winters. We spent all our time on the lovely big back deck overlooking the pool. The evenings were just beautiful out there. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It suited all the age groups we covered being from almost 70 down to 4 years of age. The place was immaculately clean, the beds were super comfortable and the kitchen was so well appointed that, even though I said I wouldn’t be cooking, I cooked. Do yourselves a favour and just go there.

  • A great place to spend some time to explore the area, or just stay there and do some walking around the farm. There are a few walks the hosts have mapped out on the farm and the walk to the river is quite nice. Jayne was a great host and happy to answer questions about the area and things to do. We enjoyed our stay there for a the two nights and have nothing that we could complain about. Thanks for nice weekend.

  • The most perfect little gem hidden away from it all ... The utter peace and silence of the forest broken only by the sound of birds and rushing water . All this in the privacy of your own little cottage and within a short distance of the amazing little places to visit between Stanthorpe and Girraween ! We had a delightful stay here and will go back again

    Poppy2018-04-02T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I really enjoyed our stay and Jayne was a wonderful host. The cottage was warm, cosy and clean with all the amenities required to cook and enjoy the beautiful view off the back balcony. Cullendore is about a 20 min drive further than Stanthorpe, and Jayne provided ample directions and assistance for us when we arrived late. We highly recommend staying here - would suit couples or two travellers alike (as a single bed can be made up on request).

Wallaby Creek Retreat offers complete privacy in a remote farming valley in the border ranges, Northern NSW. The cottage is 2brm, self-contained, wood fire heater and big outdoor fireplace, lots of space, lots of quiet, 2.5 hours from Brisbane & the Coast, big verandas overlooking the scenic valley. Screen-free zone: no tv, no phone reception, no wi-fi, no 240 v power (all gas and solar powered). Full kitchen for cooking, dining inside or out, 1 queen room, 1 queen + single room.
Wallaby Creek Retreat is a haven away from everything, "truly remote" some people say, but actually not that far from anywhere. It is a place of birds, kangaroos, starry nights and peacefulness. The cottage is simple and accommodating, with full kitchen, and linen and firewood supplied. Best of all, the cottage has no mobile phone reception, no mains power, no tv and no wifi. For families with kids we offer farmyard tour of the animals. Led pony rides and activities are an optional extra. This is a great place to re-centre yourself and your family in a place of nature and calm. It's also a quiet place to have private conversations, yummy cook-ups, campfire nights, big l.o...o.n.g sleep-ins, a winter sun-doze, a cosy fireside evening. Privacy is our specialty, with only the one guest booking at any time and the cottage set away from the farmhouse.
Wallaby Creek Retreat is 16km from Urbenville, 30 km from Woodenbong, 1 hr drive to Warwick in Queensland, or 1 hr to Kyogle in NSW.
  • Gorgeous spot. Great view. Fabulous birds, wildlife, forest. A farm in the wilderness: it's quiet, has a perfect night sky, with wallabies and kangaroos all around. The unit has all you need in the kitchen, the bedrooms, with a wood stove for a fire, and it's clean.

Their are no other signs of civilisation from the hut, making it very peaceful. Plenty of Kangaroos, birds, firewood , linen and hot water...make this a great place to get back to nature..We will be back !

  • Such a wonderful getaway for my little family and myself. My 3 year old had a wonderful time, she enjoyed feeding the animals and milking the cows, her whole time at the cottage was spent outside, no shoes on just enjoying the vast area to run around it. Ben and Tanya were absolutely wonderful and really accommodating. I would highly recommend for those who want to switch off and just be with each other whilst enjoying a beautiful variety of nature all around. Can't wait to return :)

    Kirra2019-06-16T00:00:00Z

  • We can't fault Wallaby Retreat. We stayed two nights and left wishing we had another two. Comfy beds inside and beautiful views outside. Tanya and Ben were perfect hosts, the kids loved feeding the animals one morning. We loved the campfire and saying hello to the friendly horses at the fence.

    Sarah2019-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend on Tanya's farm. The cottage is well equipped and set amidst rolling hills with plenty of space for the kids to run around. We loved watching the wallabies and the kids especially loved watching out for the horses that were very friendly and would come to the fence of the cottage for a pat. One morning the kids helped feed the cows, chickens and horses which was a great experience for them. Tanya and her husband Ben were very welcoming and friendly and made us feel at home. It was good to get away from it all (no TV or Internet at the cottage) and spend some family time together in the beautiful surroundings. We hope to be back some time soon.

  • Beautiful and spacious new home with with great entertaining facilities. Our group of 7 were comfortably accommodated in warm beds. The kitchen is well equipped for meals at home and there is plenty of seating for meals or lounging. The suburb is very quiet and only a short drive to the town centre. Probably the easiest checkin process we’ve experienced and great communication.

  • Very glad to stay in this beautiful house with a stunning hill view to see the entire Warwick. Heaters worked very well in the chilling nights, not feeling cold at all. Host is very friendly and helpful, advising me bringing jackets which were used in the trips around Girraween National Park, he also suggested us a few places to visit. The falls we're awesome, unfortunately I got my drone stuck on the cliff. House was very clean, cookware were in really good quality. The house is very close to the town, 8 minutes drive to the shopping town, so we had no trouble making meals in the house. Overall it's a really nice house with a very reasonable price. By the way, the dog next door was so cute.

  • Rhondda is the most fabulous host! So friendly and accommodating. Her place has so much charm, we loved that it was a historic house, with beautiful gardens, and geese, chooks, sheep, a couple of gorgeous cows and dogs were much adored by our toddler. Highly recommend a weekend stay to enjoy the surrounding area of Killarney.

  • We had a lovely time staying with Rhondda and Phil who were very welcoming a warm hosts. Our two little boys (2&4) loved the animals and chatting to Rhondda and Phil. A stunning spot on the back deck to have a drink and a chat and watch the sun go down over the hills.

    Amanda2019-07-14T00:00:00Z

  • The hosts R&P are just amazing, gracious, humble humans who made our group feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived. The layout of their beautiful abode allows for privacy should guests wish to have their own sanctuary out by the front wrap around deck and enjoy the views or hang out in the common living areas such as by the fire in the lounge room or the spacious kitchen. It was the perfect stay for young families. Clean fresh country air and adorable geese, chooks, sheep and highland cattle! Not to mention two friendly furpanions - Banjo and Razza. Best of all were the hosts. They’ve redefined country hospitality. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

Our cabins are situated next to the Mount Clunie World Heritage Area and the views are amazing as is the peace and tranquility you will experience. We have 190 bird species plus many native animals. We have many kms of walking tracks and provide a map to help you navigate. Cabins are run solely on gas this includes the lights, stove, fridge and hot water. They are a step back in time with no microwave or tv just listen to th sounds of nature! We welcome people from across the world.
  • My daughter and I needed a break away from the busy lives we lead. Couldn't have picked a better place. Everything runs on gas. I loved the gas lights. The flora and fauna was amazing. The clear star lit sky was amazing. Jim and Fran were wonderful hosts and I was a little sad to leave them behind. Jim is a wealth of knowledge and his love of the area was very apparent. I will definitely be back to experience this again.

  • Nice clean, tidy cabins in a beautiful area. Don’t bother taking your chargers as there’s no electricity 🤗 The beautiful native gardens are full of bird life and there are lots of walks nearby.

  • The cabin (lower) was amazing! So many birds and very cosy! The all-gas cabin is great to get away from it all and listen to nature! The views from the deck are great and the fire kept us warm on the cold winter nights! The stars at night were also amazing! Fran and Jim were great hosts and informative. We did a walk around to the view and back down via some crossings! It was well worth it and very green and pretty! Bring some good hiking boots, water bottles and a compass/torch and you're all set! Fran and Jim have a great map to explore the area without ever moving your car!

  • One of the best AirBnBs we ever stayed in. Beautiful cabins in top condition, all amenities despite being completely off grid. Of course the location is the star - on the edge of the world heritage area. Could not be more beautiful. And third - Fran and Jim are fantastic hosts. Jim explained everything about walks on the property and in the surrounding area and took us spotlighting at night, while Fran's garden is a marvel. We will be back for the executive tour next time :) Highly recommended, we will be back soon!
