Places to stay in Holland Centre

Places to stay in Holland Centre
My wife Rita built this tiny house a few years ago, with a whole lot of love and care. It was a very special project for her, but it doesn't get much use these days: We would love for you to come and enjoy it! The tiny house is on our 150 acre farm near Holland Centre, with a sauna, trails, wetlands and a river on our property and plenty of great of hiking in the surrounding area. This is a unique space (see notes below), suitable for 1 or 2 people (one full sized mattress in the loft).
Note: This is a RUSTIC cabin . There is no bath or shower. There is a (clean) composting outhouse just down the path and a good swim-spot just down the road in the summer months. The does cabin have electricity, COLD running water for drinking and washing (there is a kettle to heat water), a propane camp-stove for cooking and a small refrigerator. There is also a wood stove for use in the colder months. We will make sure there is always coffee and tea in supply!
Two great trails and a great swimmable creek are within walking distance. The Holland Centre gas bar and convenience store is a 5 minute drive, and restaurants, stores and a library are only 15 minutes away in Markdale. 25 minutes north is the city of Owen Sound, as well as the beaches of Georgian Bay
  • Tiny house that conforms to the pictures. Yehuda answered our questions very quickly. To be recommended for an atypical stay.

  • Defiantly a place to return to, despite being snowed in due to the storm we had a lot of fun in are cosy cabin. There farm is beautiful and fun to explore. It is very well laid out and the space is really maximized, Having everything you need for a couple of days. Yehuda is lovely to talk and more then happy to accommodate any needs! A well designed, thought out space to call home for a few days!

  • Very quick to communicate, and helpful as needed :) Would recommend the experience to anyone!

  • This is a perfect place to stay. You really feel like your in the middle of no where. The sauna was amazing and so unique. The cabin was so beautifully built with love. Linda gave us a lot of privacy , but greeted us with so much love. We hope to stay here again. Thank you so much!! 1000/10!!

    Shelly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Linda and Yehuda. The place is magical, a very special get away for myself and husband. We were so appreciative of your help Linda and Yehuda the place is amazing!!!

    Jennifer Ashley2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We have stayed in a number of tiny houses and this one is one of our favourites! The wood stove kept us toasty warm, the bed was comfy, and the outhouse was clean. The sauna was a great bonus!

    Nancy2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time in this tiny house! It is sweet, and warm, and so thoughtfully organized. All of the little things like coffee and milk and delicious garlic were there. Yehuda and Linda were excellent hosts who were ever attentive and yet managed to keep the balance of letting us feel as though we were in our own private little hideaway. It feels quite remote, but was super easy to get to and is set up with wi-fi and all of the basics to make life feel quite easy. We highly recommend renting this tiny house.

Beautiful PRIVATE studio apartment at back of 3 acre property, HWY 6 Hepworth. You can self check-in & self-isolate here. Studio has a kitchen, living area, TV & gas fireplace. Great for couples retreat. Property connects to Northern Dunes Golf Club & is 5 min from Bruce Ski Club's Nordic Centre. It's 1 min from Tim Hortons, 7 min from Sauble Beach, 10 from Wiarton & 20 from Owen Sound. Seasonally, you can golf, ski, snowshoe, swim, or hike the Bruce Trail. ALL backgrounds welcome. 420 friendly.
We’re living through a scary time. If you’re looking for a private place where you can enjoy nature, watch movies and hang out with some dwarf goats (because who doesn’t need some goat therapy), this is the place. Our studio apartment is separate from the main house in a building at the back of the property that also has a garage and workshop. The studio is private and entirely yours for the duration of your stay. We offer self check-in so no need to see even your hosts if you don’t want to. We also thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire space after every stay. *At this stage, we prefer to accommodate only people who do not need to travel far to get here or alternatively to accommodate only people who are travelling for essential reasons, especially those who are doing work related directly or indirectly to the containment of the virus. Please follow the regulations and requirements for travel laid out by the government. There is a couch, so if a third person is willing to sleep on a couch, then a third person is allowed to stay at no additional charge, assuming they fully understand that the couch is standard, not pull-out. If a third person is coming, let us know when you book and we'll leave extra linens, blankets and pillows. There is a flat screen TV, a DVD player, and lots of DVDs. The living area includes a gas stove/fireplace. The Kitchen includes a Fridge, Stove, Dishwasher, Kettle, Keurig coffee maker, pots, pans, dishes and utensils. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available to all guests. Bed linens, towels, soap and shampoo are provided. Wifi is available, but it comes from the main house, so it works better as you get closer to the kitchen window. It works well for surfing, but it’s not appropriate for streaming videos or using netflix. *Note that this means the smart tv cannot stream netflix. There is no smoking of any kind inside but the property is 420 friendly. There is a private patio immediately outside the French doors should you wish to partake.
Hepworth has a Tim Horton's, a convenience store with a small grocery section (1 minute walk away), and a gas station. There is also a golf club and a cross country ski and snowshoe club. The convenience store is also a post office and an LCBO. Sauble Beach is 7 minutes by car, Wiarton is 10 minutes, Owen Sound is 20 minutes, Lion's Head is 40 minutes, and Tobermory is a bit more than an hour (times are approximate). Hepworth is in the Bruce Peninsula, so there are many Bruce Trail access points within a short driving distance. You can also visit the numerous waterfalls located in Grey/Bruce, including Inglis Falls.
  • Really amazing space and property to spend the night. Very private & it was exactly the place we were looking for. We would definitely return for a stay in Kats guesthouse in the future! 10/10 experience :)

    Allison2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute and cozy! We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend :) it was nicely decorated/clean and the host was very kind to let us know how road conditions were and recommended some places to eat when we asked. We ended up snowed in during the morning, but that didn't stop us from enjoying our time! The goats were fun to see and my daughter really enjoyed them :) Thank you for a great stay!

Your living space is comfortable and bright, with lots of picturesque windows and high ceilings. There is a walkout to a private area where you can relax, and unwind, enjoying the sounds of nature and some farm animals, such as horses, minis, donkeys, goats, chickens, cats, a dog, and even a pig. We love our animals and we welcome yours as we are a pet friendly farm. A pet fee of $50/pet paid at check in. Please note dogs must be on a leash when on the property.
The property is a peaceful and beautiful place. You will hear the odd rooster or donkey as they are the most vocal around here. Guests are welcome to visit with the animals. We always love doing the animal tour. You are also welcome to explore our trails out back, whether it’s a walk, jog, bike ride (lots of hills) or even snowshoeing. Depending on the season, there’s lots to see and do in the area. From hiking, to mountain biking, snowshoeing, downhill and cross country skiing, sightseeing and lots of shopping, eateries and wineries. Within a short driving distance there are a number of small towns which host a variety of shops, bakeries, restaurants, beaches and more. (We also have 2 12x12 wooden corrals for riders that would like to bring their horses. Access to water. Please bring your own hay and everything you will need for your horse. Proof of insurance needed and horses must be up to date with vaccines).
People just start to relax and feel good as soon as they turn into the driveway. There is just something magical about living in the country. This is our little piece of paradise.
  • Perfection is an understatement for this stay . The hosts Andrea and John were beyond friendly and accommodating. The little touches were great and filled ours and our children’s hearts . Thank you for letting us meet all your amazing animals and sharing your amazing home.

    Michelle2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Andrea and John are wonderful hosts. The accommodations were on clean and had the amenities we need. Looking forward to going back again.

  • If you hesitate where to stay you don´t have to anymore! Andrea and John are so welcomed, excellent hosts, the unit is huge and very well equipped. The farm is so nice, the animals are lovely, the place is so peaceful, wish to stay more nights! Highly recommended to everyone!

    Tereza2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was an absolutely wonderful stay! Andrea and John and amazing hosts - kind, friendly, willing to tour you around the farm and offer suggestions and advice on what to do around the area. They were super responsive and close by if we needed them. The airbnb is perfect for a little getaway. It's spacious, has lots of cooking space, and plenty of little amenities. The property itself is beautiful and has lots of places to snowshoe/ski. It's about 40-50 minutes to Blue Mountain/Collingwood but if you're just planning on doing a day trip, it makes for a pretty drive out and isn't an issue. Otherwise you can occupy yourself around the property, and meet Andrea and John's extended family of furry/fluffy friends. Really great AirBnb and we're excited to visit again :)

    Natalie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • It was a fantastic experience for me and my family! Andrea’s place is extremely clean and all stuffs we need are provided. Andrea also introduced a lot of animal friends to us, they are very friendly and cute. We will definitely come back again in the future!

    James2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay! Andrea and John even showed us all the animals which was a great treat. The space was cozy, comfortable and clean.

    Stefanie2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing and unique experience staying at the farm. Very welcoming and kind hosts. They went above and beyond to make our stay special. Will definitely be back.

Quiet cul de sac in Brooke, near the Marina, with a great view of Georgian Bay. Easy access to the walking and bike path to downtown, along the water. Across from the Salmon Spectacular Tent, Summerfolk, and Kelso beach, with kids water feature.
Enjoy your own entrance to this cozy basement unit, come and go as you please. It is located conveniently in a quiet cul de sac across from the Marina, next to Kelso Beach, on the west side of Owen Sound. Conveniently across the road from the Salmon Spectacular tent and Summerfolk. Anyone over 6'2" may find the bedroom doorway a little low. The floors can be cold which is lovely in the summer but please bring slippers in the wintertime. Large tiled bathroom with unique counter and two sinks. Large bedroom with a Queen size bed. Kitchen with sink, small fridge, microwave, toaster oven and hot plate. TV, Netflix and WiFi. Pet friendly, small carpets/no carpets. Parking in driveway, bus stop across the street. Fenced in backyard with picnic table and pet friendly. No smoking. We have a new Tan Standard Poodle who is also a service dog for my daughter, very lovable, young with energy and learning manners.
We are in a cul de sac off the Eddie Sargent Parkway with easy walking access to the Marina, the Salmon Spectacular, Summerfolk, a Soccer field, Julian Park for baseball and kids playground as well as Kelso Beach with the kids water area. The summer of 2015 saw record high water levels so the beach which we have enjoyed at Kelso is under water, but you can swim or you can enjoy Sauble Beach just 20 minutes away on the Lake Huron side.
  • It's a very nice and clean private apartment provided with all the required amenities that is worth the price. Specially the host who is really lovely and kind.

  • My husband, toddler and I stayed for just one night and it was perfect. As Virginia had warned us and as is clear in her posting, her place isn’t perfectly set up for small children because there are stairs inside and my little guy could cause trouble in the bathroom if we left the door open. But she generously allowed us stay the night anyways and it was exactly what we needed and for an excellent price (and we weren’t there long enough for my adventurous toddler to wreak any havoc!). She also was incredibly kind and even gave us a gift for our little guy! FYI, as is clear in the posting, it doesn’t have a big fridge/freezer or a stove/oven. So don’t miss that bit if you are requiring one! For us, we knew that’d be ok for our short stay and it was fine. The small fridge, hot plate, toaster oven and microwave were all we needed. Definitely would stay again for short stays with the toddler or longer ones without!

Brand-new loft in downtown Markdale. Fully-equipped kitchen, brand new bathroom with glass walk-in shower, double-sized wall bed, 12 foot ceilings, comfortable living room with large flat-screen smart tv (Netflix), wifi throughout, sunny patio with bistro set. Close to all the great outdoor activities that Grey County and Grey Highlands have to offer - hiking, fishing, canoeing, skiing, snowmobiling, atv trails, beaches, cycling, motorcycle touring, and made-in-Markdale Chapman's ice cream!
This building dates back to 1893. It was originally used as a general store at street level, while the upper level was part of the Loyal Markdale Lodge, number 441 of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. Since the 19th century, the commercial space has been used as a dentist's office, a cafe, and an antique store. The Oddfellows lodge was deeded to private owners in 1983 and the Order shut down. The owners have a copy of the original Loyal Markdale Lodge Charter from the late 1800s.
  • Highly recommend staying at Elizabeth's place. Super cute place, clean, has everything you would need to enjoy your stay. Is a great location if you want to check out all the waterfalls in Grey County

There is a luggage rack, TV with Netflix, cellcharger, wardrobe, frig, coffeemaker, including supplying coffee pods, bottled water and some special treats - all in your own room! Great location to spend the day hiking, skiing, swimming or simply unwinding by the fire. Blue Mountain, Beaver Valley, Wasaga, Sauble beach are under 1 hour away. Outside you will find a spacious private back deck with your own BBQ. Inside has everything you would need to cook a meal and feel at home.
A one and a half bedroom apartment which is about 900 sq.ft. above the detached garage. It has an open concept living, dining, kitchen space 22'6" x 19' with cathedral ceilings. A propane fireplace and walk out to your private balcony, bedroom 10' x 9' and a 3 piece bathroom and laundry. There is 1 queen sized bed in the main living area, along with a sofa and chaise lounge. 2 twin beds in the bedroom and a floor mattress in the very small bedroom. Several foam and air mats available as well. The space is very large and can be used as desired.
This property is in an ideal location with a country feel but very close to town. Bruce trail is on your doorstep, Beaver Valley skiing and Irish Lake and Lake Eugenia. Tobermory and Bruce Peninsula Nation park, less than 2 hours. So much to do in Grey and Bruce county. Too many to name
  • Dianne's place is a perfect getaway spot. My boyfriend and I have now visited twice, both in winter, because the scenery is so beautiful and the area is so peaceful. It has become our favourite spot. We so enjoyed being tucked away from the world, relaxing with Netflix, books, and warm meals. The apartment was spotless, and Dianne really puts thought into everything, from amenities to local tips. She and her family are friendly and chatted with us for a while, and they have very cute dogs! Everything about this space is perfect for two, and I have absolutely no criticism that I can report! We would highly recommend this spot, and would love to return again (maybe to check out a different season)!

    Nicole2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at Dianne's many times this ski season. It's a lovely, cozy place that served our little family very well, and we're looking forward to being back next season. It's been lovely coming home from a day of skiing to relax in front of the fire. The kitchen is great. My only advice is to pack slippers or thick socks because the floor in the bathroom is chilly on cold days.

    Craig2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay! Dianne was a very responsive. We enjoyed our stay

    Amanda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, exactly what we were looking for. Diannenis very responsive to questions.

    Gerry2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Dianne’s AirBNB was a beautiful, cozy, quiet getaway loft! The amenities that Dianne packed the house with made our weekend easygoing and smooth. The kitchen had everything you could think of, and you could tell there was much thought put into everything provided. There are lots of games, books, and PS3 games to keep a family entertained for a whole week. The bed was very comfortable, the shower was nice and roomy, and everything was very clean! We would 100% return to this lovely gem in Markdale.

  • The bunkie is located in a very safe and clean park. It was exactly as the ad described.

  • What an amazing campground. Friendly people , lots to do and not a far drive to some major attractions. Would definitely stay again .

  • The cabin and surrounding area is just as pictured. Very unique and clean! Being alongside the little river is so calming. Just bring warm clothes and blankets as it gets chilly at night in the cabin and only mattresses are provided. Hospitality was amazing. Common bathrooms and showers very clean. The only downside is how close you are to the neighbours, you are practically sharing a campsite with neighbours on one side. But overall such a nice experience, would recommend.

    Sara2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect as a camping site for beginners! Neighbors were very friendly and peaceful, which sends an atmosphere of safety!

  • Very friendly host and a good camping experience. An upgrade from a tent. Beautiful grounds.

    Erynn2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Was a last min reservation, we stayed at the Corbin Cabin and it was perfect. We wanted to get away from the city enjoy the night under the stars with a campfire and the location delivered. It is a family campground with tents and RVs so lots of people around but everyone obeyed by the park rules which made it very enjoyable. Only was able to stay the one night but will definitely return with family. The host was really nice, no complaints there. Thank you again 😊

    Ana2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Comfort camping with a roof over your head and a mattress under your back, in a densely populated but quiet, tidy and well organized family campground/mobile home park. Most people seemed settled there for the season or longer, but there were a few other travelers like us; everybody quite friendly! The cabin is clean like new, and has screened windows and a lantern provided. The site is very pleasant to hang out in, enjoy a campfire, etc, with surprisingly few mosquitos or other bugs. Clean showers and bathrooms nearby. The surrounding area has lots of lovely farmland, small towns, beaches and hiking to offer, but expect to drive some distance to reach them.

    Meera2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • One of the best and easiest camping experiences I’ve had. The location of the cabin is amazing right by water and there is so many activities you could do in the camp side and 15 min drive there is lots of falls and places to check out. The cabin makes everything so much easier since you don’t have to set up a tent and bed so you get to enjoy your time and soon as you get there. Highly recommend this for people that like camping but are too lazy ( like us) 😉 don’t forget pillow and blanket and bug spray. Can’t wait to go back

Time to get out of the city and get some fresh country air! Great space for family, or just a couple, (for friends once the pandemic is over!) Isolate and socially distance yourself in this bright, spacious, and very clean, charming, completely private country suite with its own hot tub! (We take this virus seriously, very clean!) Nestled off the road on a farm property, in Grey County, you have lots of Ontario land to walk & explore! Small towns of Durham, Hanover, Mount Forest are very close.
The Suite is completely separated from the owners' suite for current social distancing practices. The house has two levels. Both levels are the full size of the house. The owners/superhosts utilize the other suite from time to time. The Airbnb suite is a large, bright, open-concept space with lots of windows with direct access to a balcony that wraps around from the kitchen to the deck and back yard, the hot tub and firepit. Very comfortable, to make you feel right at home, with lots of amenities. Very Clean, cozy, uncomplicated, modern, the option to bbq, cook or just reheat your meal, a special getaway apartment in the country close to Durham, Hanover, Mount Forest and surrounding Grey Bruce areas. Due to the Covid-19 virus, we have spaced out our guests. Days will be blocked in the calendar because of this, if you see days not available please ask. We offer nightly, weekly, monthly guests to enjoy having a place that you can cook your own meals, relax by the fireplace, watch a movie, read a book, or just visiting. This suite is nice and bright but for those quieter evenings, you can dim the lights and relax. Soak in the tub or the outdoor Hot tub before retiring to your comfy king and queen beds. If you love a good walk, the suite is located in the country on a paved picturesque country road amongst farmer's fields. Don’t forget to take the carrots that are left in the fridge to go say Hi to the horses with! Special note: If you do not see the dates you need during the summer months we also have two RVs, a travel trailer and 5th wheel set up on the property that is listed under my profile as well. Both "tiny, home-away-from homes" are set in a private setting, with fire pit, they are a fun experience, to ‘glamp’ in the country with all of the conveniences and amenities required.
Convenience is only 2 km away in Durham, Ontario. The beautiful Saugeen river runs through it. Gas stations, liquor store, beer store, grocery store, convenience stores, restaurants, churches, etc. Other things to note of the area; A Friday market runs all summer 1/2 block west on 10th street in the Civic Park in Hanover. Every Tuesday venture up to the Keady market. Lots of local restaurants in the area. There is a Paramount drive-in theatre open Tues, Fri, Sat, and Sunday the end of May until Labour Day weekend just 15 minutes away.
  • Just a wonderful time. The space is great and modern but nicely secluded within nature. They have some very friendly horses so it was an nice escape away from city life. Catherine and Thomas couldn’t’ be more welcoming and caring on our arrival. Checking in on us and ensuring our stay was up to standard - which it was. Defiantly a top AirBNB experience and hosts.

    Jordan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine’s place is a perfect quiet getaway. It is big and bright with very comfortable beds and lots of nice touches for the guests! I highly recommend!

    Blythe2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine and Thomas’ place was wonderful! The suite is quite spacious and very clean with tons of natural light. The large property is absolutely stunning and perfect for a get away from the city hustle and bustle. The hot tub was a great place to relax & unwind! The horses and pony were very friendly and love to see us come visit them with carrots in hand! Overall the experience was great & I would definitely recommend Catherine & Thomas’ place!

  • I can’t leave a review for the very place as unfortunately I had to cancel my stay due to weather conditions, but I can witness Catherine has demonstrated a fantastic customer support by warning me in advance and being helpful in the cancelation. I trust she is an excellent host, caring for the best of her visitors.

    Sylvain2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Myself, my girlfriend, our daughter and a couple of classmates booked a 3 day 2 night stay but unfortunately due to weather were only able to stay the one night, but that one night we were there went above and beyond expectations! Catharine and Thomas were in the unit below which was nice if we needed anything. The place was beautiful, there were notes posted all around the place with directions for what to do and not to do,very clear. They had breakfast in the fridge for the mornings along with milk and cream for the coffee and tea, and also carrots to feed the horses! They also had some pamphlets for some restaurants around the area, a computer to use and of course wifi. The hot tub was just the cherry in top. Over all for the time we were there it was a great experience. Thank you catharine and Thomas for your great hospitality!

    Aaron2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • This place was beyond what we expected. The host was super helpful and was very easy to communicate. The horses and the hot tub was def a cherry on top. We had an awesome stay and would recommend my friends and family for sure. Cat so sorry about the mess we made and fully taking responsibility of that! I should of been more careful. Thank you

    Prashanthi2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great winter getaway here! The place was very clean, check in was easy and there were lots of instructions so we were not left wondering about anything. There were nice little touches like eggs in the fridge, and robes and slides to put on to go to the hot tub. This is within driving distance to many small quaint towns, as well as Owen Sound and Collingwood. We had a great stay!

    Beth2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Catherine's place for a few days during the week in February as a small getaway, and it was very clean and comfortable overall. The horses and the hot tub are really nice bonuses, and the place is very spacious. There's some additional rules to note with the hot tub if you're staying during the week; we were able to talk to the host about some options which was very kind of them! It's less secluded, especially with the downstairs unit occupied, but it was a nice break from the city. Thank you Thomas and Catherine for having us! 4.5/5 overall :)

  • Brenda’s cozy cabin is an amazing place to stay when having a nature getaway. My girlfriend and I were extremely impressed with the location and coziness of the cabin, as well as Brenda’s hospitality. We were pleasantly surprised that all pictures of the outdoor views in the posting represented real views from the cabin. It was amazing to stare out of the windows and see a beautiful valley. In addition to the beautiful views on the property, the cabin has a perfect location in the area. There are many beautiful places to visit around the cabin within a short drive, as well as amazing restaurant options with great food. Our stay was perfect and Brenda went above and beyond to ensure we have a satisfying stay. There are no negatives to Brenda’s cozy cabin and we recommend this place to anyone!

  • The Cozy Cabin is the perfect name for this place! I stayed there with my boyfriend for the night and we have nothing but good things to say. Brenda went above and beyond our expectations in ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible. The washroom is located in the main house, but not too bad walking over, less than a minute away :) Although the address on the GPS did not show up correctly, Brenda provided very clear directions to find the place a piece of cake. Peaceful, tranquil, and cozy~ Highly recommend staying here if anyone is looking to be close to blue mountain area!

    Salena2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cabin is just that! It is the perfect home base if you are looking to hit the slopes or enjoy the day at the spa. It is a much better price than to stay right in collingwood, and our host was wonderful. The cabin was clean, had all the things you would need and was warm with a breathtaking view! The sunset and stars were beautiful. The drive into blue was only 15-20 minutes but seemed much faster. I highly recommend this place for couples who just want to lay their heads and spend the day out and about. The perfect little home base! We will definitely be back!

The yurt is located on our 200 acre biodynamic farm in beautiful West Grey. Guest are welcome to walk around the property and enjoy being in nature. A cozy insulated space available all year round. Meals made with farm fresh ingredients can be requested for an additional fee. This accommodation is rustic with outhouse (composting toilets) and wash basin. Farm experience is also available. Weather permitting we can offer sleigh rides or horse and buggy rides for an additional fee.
The yurt is an authentic Mongolian yurt made of all natural materials. Fully insulated and very spacious the yurt can accommodate more people by adding a cot. A great place to get away from it all. Unfortunately the yurt does not have running water, but is equipped with water and wash basin. Lanterns provide adequate light at night.
West Grey is abundant in natural areas. There is a swimming river nearby at the conservation area in Durham. There is also a convenience store located just up the road and the town of Durham is with in a 10 minute drive.
  • We LOVED our stay at Michael and Elisa’s farm! The yurt was very cute and comfortable, and also heated up really nice. There are many animals on the farm, and Michael also let us watch him milk the cows! Rosie the dog is the sweetest, and will follow you around very politely if you let her. The breakfast was also amazing. Overall, we were very impressed and happy with our stay on the farm, and will definitely be returning. Thank you Michael and Elisa!

    Batul2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this stay. The styling was amazing. The breakfast was literally out of this world. So fresh! Hosts were super inviting and friendly. I'm not a huge fan of dogs but omg their dog followed us around the barn and would melt anyone's heart. Seriously a sweetheart. The yurt itself was warm and cozy. Our laptop died and there was no plug but it was a good opportunity to unplug and relax. Would like the recipe for the UNREAL croissants.

  • What an absolutly magical place. We got WAY more than we bargained for. We thought we were just getting a relaxing night away when really their is so much on the property to explore. The yurt was so clean and had everything we needed. Great hospitality and guest services (absolutly love their pooch Rosie making sure we were safe and happy). The area is stunning to explore but I had the most fun on the farm. To the magical lights at night lighting up the entire farm walkway, to the barn with hay bails and swing ropes to play on really brings out the kid in you, the barn full of animals to explore and kittens to cuddle. We will definitely be back to this delightful property. Could not have had a better trip 😍🤗

Rustic camping in a no service cabin. All the things a cmpground offers. Bingo. Rec hall. Horseshoes etc.
  • This place is in a quiet section of the campground. Exactly what we wanted, a place away from people. Be prepared it is the same as tent camping except you have a comfortable bed and a roof over head. No heat, no electricity, although electricity is wired, it’s just not connected. It would be nice if there was a carbon monoxide detector so you could leave your propane heater on. We would recommend to other campers.

    Edward2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The host was amazing . Very accommodating, great communication. Cabin is rustic but cozy and I would recommend it to anyone looking to do glamping or who wants to camp sans the tent ...

    Kristen2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for deluxe camping (ie without tent). Good amount of wood has a good price to make a fire in the evening.

    Alexandre2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is perfect for people who love camping, but hate the set up and tear down of a tent. We had the most relaxing weekend sitting around the campfire laughing with friends. I fell on the last day just before we left and cut my hands on the gravel. Some really nice campers helped me by cleaning and bandaging me up. Thank you so much for everything!!

    Jennifer2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a great cabin to stay for one night. I liked a lot. I would recommend it to anyone who is camping and wanted to sleep in a cabin not in in Tent.

    Talal2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! The host was very on top of upkeeping the grounds and if there was a problem, you could directly talk with him during the day. The cabin was exactly as described though the light wasn't working at the time. Not a problem however because my friends and I were well prepped and enjoyed the serenity of the forest at night. Everyone was incredibly friendly on the campgrounds and there was a lot more included than I expected. Like a basketball court across the cabin area. If you're interested in camping and a calm space, seriously stay here. The beds were very comfortable and checkin was very easy. Definitely will stay again!

Enjoy your stay in our original 1850's log cabin at our 3 acre home in Grey Highlands, Ontario. The cabin has a queen bed and couch and provides a unique glamping experience with an outhouse and outdoor shower. Use the cabin's small fridge, microwave & BBQ for making simple meals or eat at one of the charming restaurants in the Flesherton and Beaver Valley area. 5 minute drive to Hogg's Falls and other parts of the Bruce Trail, Lake Eugenia, Flesherton pond. Perfect home base for exploring.
Our little log cabin was built in the 1850's by Irish immigrants. It's a simple space and provides a nice rural setting to use as a home base for exploring Grey Highlands and the Beaver Valley. We're close to great hiking on the Bruce Trail, the Flesherton Farmer's Market, Flesherton pond, Lake Eugenia, antique shops and cafes. The cabin doesn't have indoor plumbing, just a clean outhouse and a solar outdoor camping shower. There is a TV with lots of DVDs, books and board games. The small kitchen in the cabin is complete with a microwave, small fridge, dishes, cutery etc and a table and chairs. Outside is a small patio set and a BBQ.
Guests may want to relax at the cabin during the day or enjoy great hiking on the Bruce Trail. Some of our favourite hiking locations are: Old Baldy (20 minutes away), Hogg's Falls (5 minutes away) and Eugenia Falls (7 minutes away). Swimming during summer months is close by at Lake Eugenia and Flesherton Pond. The local farmer's market in Flesherton takes place on Saturday mornings. There are a number of restaurants, cafes, art galleries, antique shops, and bakeries about 5 minutes from the cabin. Coffin Ridge Winery is a 45 minute drive and Georgian Hills Winery about 30 minutes away. Many craftspeople call the area home. La Scandinave Spa Blue Mountain is approximately 35 minutes away. The Beaver Valley is close by and gorgeous, especially in the fall, when the leaves turn colour. At the end of the day enjoy stunning sunset views from our property.
  • We had a very nice experience at Lynne's place. A step back in time is exactly what the doctor ordered and after a tough week at the office this place certainly delivered. We look forward to making it back again!!

  • Lynne's 1850 cabin is a gem. It is a really cool space (and very clean!) and Lynne has added a lot of thoughtful touches to make it warm and inviting. Lynne welcomed us warmly to her home and showed us around the property. She was very quick to respond to our messages. Flesherton, with its galleries, gourmet food and book and vintage shops, is definitely worth a visit and the cabin is close to many waterfalls in the area as well as the Bruce Trail. All in all, Lynne's cabin is the perfect place for an easy getaway!

  • The best Airbnb experience I’ve ever had! Amazing hospitality, great communication and the most unique and charming cabin to go along with it! Blew my expectations out of the water. I highly recommend.

  • Lynne’s place was fantastic. It’s a beautiful cabin surrounded by greenery and very clean. Lynne and her husband were great hosts and gave us lots of suggestions on things to do and eat. We will definitely be back.

  • This cabin is perfect for a slightly rustic get away with touches of comfort and privacy. It has everything you need and then some. The hosts are wonderful and extremely helpful.

  • Amazing little cabin tucked in the perfect place on The Bruce. I used this as a jump off point to hit the trail for some running and it was perfect. So many thoughtful touches throughout the entire place. Definitely recommend. This place was rustic and beautiful. Just perfect. I actually went to book it again, and it was already reserved. Definitely will be back.

This listing is closed for the winter. It will re-open on June 4, 2020. Balmy Beach is a 10 minute drive along the west harbour from Owen Sound. The light-filled guesthouse is beside the main house but private. It is set in natural gardens with a rural reserve behind. It's a great place to stay for a night or two while exploring the Bruce peninsula or hiking on the Bruce Trail. My place is for those who enjoy nature and quiet surroundings - it is not suitable for late night party people.
The cabin is built from panabode cedar logs with a small deck at the front. It is a studio (no separate bedroom), measuring about 23 feet by 13 feet. It has a kitchenette and an alcove for a closed off shower and toilet. Note the space has only one sink, which is in the little kitchenette. The cabin has one queen-sized bed. All linens are provided, as is kitchen equipment, including a fridge, coffee-maker, small stove and microwave. Breakfast is supplied - with food put out in the cabin before arrival.
There is access to the lake along a public driveway less than a minute's walk down the road from my property. There is no real beach, but good views and swimming is lovely from mid-July to the end of August. The cabin is also about a 50 minute walk (or a 3 minute drive) from the Clubhouse at Cobble Beach golf course and resort. The terrace there is a great place to have a drink and take in the view out over the lake. The Indian River Falls is about a one minute drive (or an hour's walk) going the other way from the cabin towards town. Once you get to the parking lot, it is about a 15 minute walk along the river and up through the woods to get to the Falls. Not to be missed (even in high summer when the water level is likely to be low). Going up the peninsula, there are many wonderful short hikes and views within a half-hour's drive. Check out Grey County Tourism - Skinner's Bluff scenic lookout for example. Tobermory is a one and one-half hour's drive north from my place. Southampton on Lake Huron is a half hour's drive west across the peninsula.

  • Shawna’s place was comfortable, spacious and exactly what we needed for a hiking weekend. Shawna was also very helpful with things to do in the area. The wifi doesn’t reach all areas of the guest house, but it was easy enough to work around. Also a small breakfast was provided on the first day, which was helpful for us.

  • Shawna is a very warm person. We felt immediately comfortable. The cabin is in her wonderful garden. We were able to switch off very well and relax. The distance to the next trails is about one hour - not out of the world! It was a wonderful time!

  • Tranquil getaway location close to all the amenities of Owen Sound. Perfect for couples or solo travelers with a car. Central to many locations for exploring a fascinating diversity of unique geologic and ecologic points of interest. The town of Owen Sound is also a relic of Canada's industrial ascension during the heyday of great lakes shipping. Looking at the eroding limestone cliffs of the escarpment overhanging Georgian Bay that used to be a tropical sea bed hundreds of millions of years ago; observing the boulder-strewn shore of Lake Huron where rocks were moved during the ice-age over 10, 000 years ago; seeing the sites of pre-existing massive industrial operations; all these experiences culminate to a point of meditation: change is constant and the ego is small against the inexorable forces of time.

    Andrew2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Shawna’s place is in a beautiful location, amongst gardens and mature trees. The cottage itself is cute and clean, she has provided everything you will need. We arrived to find chocolate zucchini bread and plums on the counter. She had home made bread and home made jams, as well as a fully stalked fridge for breakfast. We highly recommend staying at Shawna’s.

    Candace2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Shawna's place turned out to be even better than we expected. It was very clean, cozy and the area is very quiet . We really enjoyed our time and Shawna was always available and she is a very lovely host We highly recommend

  • This place is highly recommended for a quiet retreat! The bed is so comfortable and breakfast such a nice touch. We swam at the public access point, hiked, and enjoyed the sunshine in Shawna's garden.

Beautiful winter wonderland on 25 acres of private maple woods. Wonderful location for getting away from it all with the family, yet close to all local ski areas (alpine and cross country). Gently rolling landscape with a river steps from the door. Water that the former owners used to bottle and take back to their city home. A cozy two bedroom cabin with seasonal sunroom that suggests board games and reading as well as sharing meals and memories with your friends, partner, or family.
A two bedroom cabin with sunroom, full kitchen, large deck space, and full bathroom. Quiet and tranquil location that is hidden down a long wooded driveway.
Beaver Valley Ski Club, Blue Mountain Ski, Glenelg Nordic, Highlands Nordic. By request for extra fee track set nordic trails can be placed on the property for your enjoyment right outside the door.
  • We had such an amazing time at the cottage. We loved being surrounded by nature and how quite it was. We were also able to spend some time at Blue Mountain and do some activities as it's only a 25min drive. Mark's place is clean, cute and very welcoming, and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a relaxing weekend.

    Elisabet2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, right in the middle of a forested area. A nice quiet get away with beautiful scenery. About 20-30 minutes away from blue mountain. My partner and I went during a heavy snowfall and was pleased to see that the driveway had been cleared making it easy to reach the cabin. The cabin was cozy and clean. Mark was communicative and responded quickly in detail. I very much enjoyed staying here.

  • A fantastic getaway cabin that's?still close to towns, hiking and ski hills. My son and I had a great time snow shoeing around the property. Warm, clean and cute cabin.

    Amanda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint little cabin in the woods that made for the perfect cozy winter getaway. Communication was excellent and Mark included some unexpected surprises. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to recharge away from the hustle.

  • Our stay at this house was great. We loved the secluded, wooded property for walking our dogs. They loved playing in the snow. It really is a beautiful location. It was only a 17 minute drive to Thornbury and 30 minute drive to Blue Mountain. Everything in the house was clean and tidy. It was very cold outside and we never had an issue with the temperature inside the house. The driveway was plowed and we didn't have to worry about getting stuck. Mark even provided pancake mix and local maple syrup as a welcome gift! We would definitely love staying here again!

Beautiful glamping bunkie with loft on 3 acre property, Hwy 6 Hepworth. Bunkie has a double bed in the loft. On main level, find a dresser, desk, chair & pullout couch. Off grid but supplied with a power box for charging devices. Outhouse with compost toilet & outdoor sink & shower are shared with guests in the other bunkies. Property connects to NorthernDunes Golf Club. 1min from TimHortons, 7 from SaubleBeach, 10 from Wiarton & 20 from Owen Sound. ALL backgrounds welcome. 420 friendly.
This bunkie offers "glamping" at its finest. It is separate from the main house and entirely yours for the duration of your stay. As the Covid-19/Coronavirus situation continues around the world, we understand that you may wish to isolate yourself from others. You can self check-in and self-isolate as well if you are willing to forgo using the shared facilities on the property and treat this like a more traditional camping experience. If you do make this choice, then it is possible to avoid all contact with other people, including your hosts, while you are here. The loft does not have railings so it is not safe for children. This bunkie will comfortably accommodate 2 people, however, there is a pull-out couch on the main level so up to 4 are allowed if you are willing to have 2 sleep on a pullout couch, and you understand that it will be tight with that many. Outside, there is a compost toilet in an outhouse, as well as an open air shower (surrounded with fencing and a curtain for privacy), plus an outdoor sink. There is also an outdoor kitchenette beneath a gazebo (with a roof, but not fully enclosed), equipped with a kettle, a coffee maker, a water dispenser, a very small fridge containing milk and cream, and complimentary coffee and tea. Both the washroom and kitchenette are shared with other guests, but cleaned and sanitized often. Your bunkie has a picnic table and BBQ outside. There is also a large communal firepit in the open space outside the bunkies. And make sure you check out the "Secret Garden" - follow the path into the woods beside the "Wagamese Bunkie". There is a hammock and benches in garden. Bed linens, towels, soap and shampoo are provided. Wifi is available, but it comes from the main house via a wifi extender, so it will not work for streaming. The kitchen gazebo has a power outlet you can use to power devices and each bunkie is supplied with a small power box. Bunkies are lit with battery operated lamps. They are off-grid and have no other source of power. There is no smoking inside but the property is 420 friendly.
Hepworth has a Tim Horton's, a convenience store with a small grocery section (1 minute walk away), and a gas station. There is also a golf club and a cross country ski and snowshoe club.
  • Looking to switch off from all the go go busy life?! This is the place, reconnect with nature, switch on self care! Perfect Glamping, beautiful area for a bonfire. Lovely secret garden! Great host, fast response! Cant wait to go back in Summer! Unplug unwind!

  • I loved my stay in Atwood Bunkie! It's adorable and beautifully decorated, with thoughtful touches (eg three books by Margaret Atwood). It's designed as a writing retreat and so there's a properly comfortable desk chair, but if actually recommend it to anyone who's happy with relatively limited space (fine for one but would be cosy for two if it rained). This was a dream location and my favourite stop so far on my road trip.

  • This was the most beautiful stays ever, the tiny house was so clean and well setup, the outdoor shower was amazing, and there was goats! The cabin with the fans actually became so cold we were wrapped up in blankets! The noise mentioned before is pretty well gone by the time you are ready for bed. It’s in the middle of everything, it’s a beautiful location. Honestly so excited to see this grow. Can’t wait to come back!

We’re living through a scary time. If you’re looking for a private place where you can enjoy nature while staying away from other people, this is the place. This bunkie offers "glamping" at its finest. It is separate from the main house and from our studio, and it's entirely yours for the duration of your stay. As the Covid-19/Coronavirus situation continues around the world, we ask that you isolate yourself from others while on our property. You can self check-in and self check-out here. Normally the outdoor washroom and kitchen are shared, but until this virus situation is over, they are only available for use by the guests staying in this bunkie - we can't share things right now, nor can we congregate, but we can smile and wave from a distance. Please do not approach anyone else on the property while you're here. Keep a wide berth from others. Generally, the property is well laid out, and we only have 2 rentals open for booking right now, rather than our usual 4. This bunkie is on one side of our property, at the back, our studio is at the other side of the property, and the main house is at the front. Overall, it's a large 3 acre space. This bunkie fits two people on one double bed. Outside, there is a compost toilet in an outhouse, as well as an open air shower (surrounded with fencing and a curtain for privacy), plus an outdoor sink. Please note that we do not currently have hot water, but the bunkie has a heater in it where you can warm up after a cold (and probably quick) shower. There is also an outdoor kitchenette beneath a gazebo (with a roof, but not fully enclosed), equipped with a kettle, a coffee maker, a water dispenser, a very small fridge containing milk and cream, and complimentary coffee and tea. It is off-grid and has no other source of power, except an extension cord for running the heater only. There is no smoking inside but the property is 420 friendly. Please shut your windows if you are smoking on the porch for the comfort of future guests.

  • Everything was so cute and very, very clean! A few bugs here and there are inevitable in this type of environment, but there are far less than you would expect, and you can easily tell hosts spend time making sure everything is as pristine and pest free as possible:) I love the location of the Munroe Bunkie because it’s very close to the shower and bathroom-and the little goats:) Sunrises and sunsets are gorgeous on the property, and I really enjoyed my morning walk to get coffee from Tim Hortons. Check in and check out were super easy and convenient with the lock box. And the bed was SO comfy! It’s really a great place to stay all around!

  • Kat and Scott have a wonderful place for a quaint getaway. The cabins are done up well and the outdoor shower really is fantastic! The water heats up instantly and the space holds heat while you towel off. They have added nice little touches for guests such as the garden path with sayings posted throughout that lead to a hammock area. I would definitely recommend their place and would book again without hesitation.

  • We had lovely weekend getaway at Dragonfly Hollow. The space was more than accommodating for our family of 4. It was clean, warm and quiet. There is wifi, and free parking on the premises. It is located in the countryside but a 15-20 minute drive to restaurants and shops if needed. There are plenty of outdoor activities in the surrounding areas. Susan was a great hostess and added some fantastic personal touches. She also made sure we had more than enough snacks and breakfast food. We will definitely be back in the summer.

  • I visited Dragonfly Hollow two weeks a ago for one cozy night with friends and it was perfect! Suzan is an amazing host who took care of everything we needed! The place was amazing, so clean and peaceful! There were some snacks, board games, and stuff you would maybe forgot to bring like showergel and shampoo. We felt really welcome and I would highly recommend this spot if you like to be in nature!

  • We spent the New Year’s Eve in this amazing place. Susan let us know that it’s the granny suite that we’re staying to avoid confusion, and asked our name to put a personal touch to it. Her place has all the snacks and fruits, and the yummy jams. Everything is clean - it’s an old fashioned place gives you a feel of home. The next day we went to a hike and Susan showed us amazing view . It’s just amazing. We hope to come back again in summer or autumn.

  • What a beautiful peaceful spot! The home was sparkling clean and had everything I needed, with so many thoughtful touches! Wonder hosts!

  • OMG, This little hide away is truly amazing, such a cozy spot and the hosts were great. Susan greeted us when we first arrived and took us in and told us where everything was. There was plenty of room for us as we sat around the table and discussed the days events over a few drinks. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone who wants a great place to stay. Thanks Susan and Kevin for having us in your home.

  • Cute and cozy place! We spent the Family day long weekend and absolutely loved it. Emily was fast in response and greeted us when we arrived. Also, the place was extremely clean and was already heated up. All we had to do was basically eat and sleep! Definitely staying again next time we visit.

  • My boyfriend and I decided to do a last minute trip in North and found Emily’s place. So glad we did! Such a cute space! There’s a fireplace, the decor is so nice, and she even made us heart shaped banana chocolate chip bread for Valentine’s Day ❤️ couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thanks Emily!

  • A lovely retreat for a weekend in Owen Sound. We wanted to place to relax before and after some local hiking/snowshoeing. Easy to cook our own meals, read and watch Netflix (although the second night it froze so we just ended up using our own computer/data). The place has everything you need. Excellent value.

This is a 4-season recreational area; you can ski, snowshoe, golf, fish, hike, cycle, and canoe depending on the season. We are 30 mins from Blue Mountain.
Many restaurants and events at Blue Mountain. Also great selection of restaurants in Collingwood. Locally, the Flying Chestnut in Eugenia is popular (open weekends - reservations required), and the Bicycle Cafe (open weekends) in Flesherton. In Singhampton, Mylar and Loretta's is open every day. Flying Spatula is a truck-stop style diner serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Be aware that cash or debit is sometimes the only way to pay. There are three local gas stations in Flesherton and another automated gas station in Eugenia. Larry McGee will serve the gas and you will be buying local!
  • This home is in a wonderful location for a quiet getaway. It is a cute home in the woods, and the bed is very comfortable. Penelope and her husband are very kind and hospitable. Just be aware that the wifi is extremely limited, so if you are looking for a getaway that is unplugged and tranquil, then I definitely recommend.

  • Skiing in the Blue Mountains is well worth living here. You can drive to the ski slopes in 30 minutes.

Welcome to your garden oasis in charming Thornbury! My house is located right on the main street of town, just far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you unwind in peace after a day of adventures but close enough to town that you are within a 15 min. stroll to wonderful cafes ( you cannot go wrong with anything at the Thornbury Bakery!), restaurants( wood-fired pizza at the Bruce Street Wine Bar is my personal favourite!) and interesting, unique boutiques.
You will have a private bedroom on the second floor of the house. There is a bathroom on the second floor of the house that is yours to use, but note that it is shared with the person/persons renting the other bedroom on that floor. The kitchen, dining room and living room on the main floor of the house are shared spaces and you are welcome to enjoy them with me. The kitchen has all necessary appliances for basic cooking ( microwave, fridge, stove) and you may cook simple meals or reheat something. There is also a coffee and tea station in the kitchen which you are welcome to use. In the evenings, you may find me enjoying a glass of wine in the living room - you are welcome to join me but my level of interaction is entirely up to you. if you prefer alone time, i will respect that. If you would like to chat about the area, that would be lovely too i am here to help you in whatever way i can.

  • Magi is a fantastic hostess. She is kind and welcoming. Her home and location is very cleanly and canadiana feel for sure. I enjoyed my short stay. There is a lot to see in the area, which can only be appreciated with a longer stay. My bedroom was so chic and nice, clean crisp towels ready. Highly recommended.

  • Thornbury is about 15min from the village, enjoy the beautiful drive along the water! Note that most restaurants are closed here on Sunday nights. We had an amazing stay in Magi's beautiful home. Place was super clean, cozy and quiet (even if the walls are thin). Her dogs Ollie and Ricky are incredibly adorable and friendly. You'll have to witness Ollie's soccer skills because when you see him jump and catch a ball mid air, your mind will be blown. Magi is so friendly and hospitable, you can't go wrong with staying in her home. We will be back when we visit again!!
