Places to stay in Holland

Places to stay in Holland
Welcome to our wonderful family home. It is a classic 3 bed/2 bath on a tree-lined street in downtown Holland, next to Kollen Park and Lake Macatawa. The home gets excellent natural light and offers gorgeous lake + park views from multiple rooms in the house & outside deck. It has just been beautifully renovated on both levels including kitchen, living room, floors, furniture, and appliances. We are easy walking distance to all of downtown + the fantastic 8th St. Farmers Market on Saturdays.
There are 2 bedrooms upstairs, as well as a full large bathroom and ample space for bags and personal items. Downstairs there is a library/sitting room, a dining room, a bedroom, a full bathroom, a living room/tv room, a kitchen, and a small pantry. There is also an outside patio deck off of the living room/tv room, with outdoor chairs and a table, plus an enclosed sun porch as well.
You can walk anywhere in/around town from the house. Kollen Park is across the street. The lakefront is 200 yards from the house. Within 8 blocks is all of the downtown area.
  • Charming home with easy walks to restaurants and shopping.

  • This home was a cute space for us to use to prep with a client meeting in Holland. The downtown area is about a 30-minute walk, but a quick drive. It was nice to be so close to the beautiful town, shops, and breweries. The home was everything we expected. The reviews were accurate, take the time to read them to understand more about the property. We were most surprised by the amount of traffic but had to get up for early meetings, so it wasn't a big deal. If you were looking to relax or take an afternoon nap, the noise may be somewhat bothersome. Overall, the owners were prompt to respond when we had questions and the house and its amenities were perfect for all of us.

  • Beautiful old nostalgic home in Holland, about 5 block walk to downtown. Very clean and kept up, we stayed in February and the house was warm and cozy all over. Beds were super comfortable, we actually slept in! Bathrooms were updated and exceptionally clean. Would definitely recommend!

  • We stayed here for our 4th anniversary. It was such a sweet and cozy place to stay with a great view. We would totally stay here again!

    Chris2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Everything here was as depicted. Nice and clean. There is road noise, but it is tolerable. Check in and out is seemless and in the summer being so close to the water would be wonderful.

We offer a basement suite, located in a quiet neighborhood. Our goal is to provide a comfortable,“Dutch clean”, friendly accommodation, at a very reasonable price. This is a great place to stay while visiting family or friends, exploring the wonders of West Michigan, or while on a business trip. We are conveniently located about 2 miles from Hope College and historic downtown Holland which offers a great assortment of shops, restaurants, breweries, galleries, and a farmers market to experience.
Our basement suite consists of a BR with a queen bed, a private bath, and a LR that has a kitchenette at one end. The LR has a sofa and 2 chairs plus a small table and chairs for eating. We can accommodate 2 extra persons by setting up a Frontgate inflatable queen size air bed in the basement LR. An additional person is welcome to make a bed on the couch. We are licensed in the city of Holland as a short term public lodging facility, certificate #CSTR18104.
This is a classic all-American neighborhood in a heavily wooded section of town. We live on a cul-de-sac with lots of kids playing on the streets in nice weather. If you're here more than a day you'll likely meet some of our good neighbors.
  • Exactly as advertised -- Kathy and Jim love hosting people and are welcoming, friendly, and interested in getting to know their guests. The place was clean and tidy. The breakfast snacks were an added bonus. We appreciated the use of their iron and ironing board. Coming and going was easy, even when we were out late in the evening. Because it is a basement suite, there are definitely noises audible from upstairs. It didn't bother us, but if you are a visitor hoping to sleep in, it will help to be a sound sleeper! Very thoughtful hosts, would recommend.

  • I am a frequent guest at Kathy's. I highly recommend!

  • Kathy, Jim and Jody offer a very welcoming, very relaxing, very comfortable place to call home while in Holland. Everything about it is wonderful - especially the hosts! I'll be back!

    Bridget2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed an impromptu trip and thoroughly enjoyed the ice flows in the channel and the sunset!

    Kimberly2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • There place is immaculately clean. It is close and convenient to downtown Holland and only 15 minutes away from West Olive or Saugatuck. Kathy and her family are very friendly and welcoming. They invite you into their lovely house and you stay in their Lower level/finished basement. Doesn’t feel like a basement, it has a private bedroom, bathroom/shower, couch, mini fridge, table, and tv. She generously leaves light breakfast stuff, bottled water, and cookies for her guests. Her family do stay there while you are there so it’s not a 100% private place, but it didn’t bother us because we mainly were there just to sleep. They keep to themselves, but if you want to talk and share stories, they will invite you upstairs to get to know each other. We will definitely be back for our next visit! Lovely awesome place!

Enjoy the city and experience the Lakeshore in one trip! During your stay, please browse our Holland Visitor guide and area maps showcasing the areas' best, as reviewed by longtime Holland residents. We will work with you to customize your stay to your individual needs. We invite you to join our family of delighted Cobblestone Cottage guests! About the owners: Lifelong Holland residents and high school sweethearts have owned this home together since their marriage in 2002. The home was lovingly (well, mostly lovingly) renovated by this engineer and artist, and welcomed each of their six children in the years to follow! So full of memories and craftsmanship, the home was deemed too precious to sell. When the family moved nearby for the necessary extra bedrooms (and bathroom) (ok, and Lake Michigan views), the Cobblestone Cottage vacation rental was born! The home is surrounded by neighbors known and loved by the family, and your rental allows the family to still roam the streets of their nostalgic first home. Thank you!
Historic homes, kind neighbors, walking proximity to waterfront, boardwalk, local restaurants, and downtown.
  • House was clean, had great amenities, great location to downtown shops, restaurants, and bars.

    Shelly2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • I was lucky to stay in a place as beautiful as this cottage! It was very clean, spacious, and in a great location to be able to walk to multiple parks and walk to the Mainstreet in downtown Holland. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom warm with all amenities I would need, and the kitchen well stocked with utensils if I wanted to prepare any food. If I ever come back to Holland, I would definitely stay at the cottage!

    Tori2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Super clean and tidy! Everything was so clean and tidy, and when we walked into the bedroom you could smell how fresh and clean the bedding and room was. Just the kind of thing you want when on vacation. The house was on a quiet street, very centrally located to everything we wanted to do. Kelli was also super helpful in providing ideas for places to eat and for recreation with our five year old, and quick to respond to messages. Everything was so easy, and made our trip so effortless.

    Erin2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Kelli’s place was perfect for our anniversary getaway! Cozy cottage. It was just enough for the two of us and was very clean! Very close to downtown Holland and short drive to Saugatuck. We were able to walk to best breakfast in town at The Biscuit! Can’t wait to come back and explore in the summer!

    Marzena2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my stay at Maureen’s and Ed’s house. I can highly recommend it. Maureen and Ed are very friendly, down to earth, and helpful, but you can have all the privacy that you want or need. There are two beds in two different bedrooms and Maureen tells me that she only rents out one at a time. I only mention this because one bed has a very soft memory foam mattress and the other is a bit more firm, so if you decide to stay here maybe you should check out the two beds by sitting on them and then decide which room you would like. I found the memory foam mattress much too soft when I sat on the bed, and my hosts had already gone upstairs to bed, so I made the decision to switch bedrooms. Fortunately, this did not seem to bother Maureen when I told her the next morning. They made me coffee and Maureen fixed me some eggs and gave me a really great, homemade muffin to eat for breakfast.

  • Our family rented Nicks cottage over the 4th of July week. We were very pleasantly surprised at the charm and the traditional family vibe of this cottage. The views from the cottage, deck and overlook platform are priceless!! The house is very conveniently located on a nice street only about 10 min from downtown holland. We were able to take convenient day trips to surrounding cities like Saugatuck, Grand Haven and Muskegon. The house has 3 bedrooms all same level included linens, towels, paper products and toiletries. It also has air conditioning and a washer and dryer, and dishwasher which were very convenient and surprising in an older home. We would highly recommend this cottage!!

Great location less than a mile from downtown Holland, this is split level home and the entire upstairs is yours to enjoy! There are two spacious bedrooms, a living area, kitchen, and full bathroom exclusively for your private use. Great access to the restaurants, bars, and shops on 8th St in downtown Holland as well as Hope College, the beautiful beaches of Lake Michigan, and everything else the area has to offer.
Eclectic, clean, cozy, and neat with mid-century modern accents. For the summer months, there are two A/C units (one in the living area and one in a bedroom). The kitchen is small but sufficient to prepare meals if that is your desire. The space, like the hosts, are welcoming and down to earth.

  • My husband and I were looking for something a bit more relaxing than a hotel when visiting our daughter at Hope this time. This cute house was perfect! It’s VERY clean, and tastefully decorated just like the pictures in the listing. Lynelle was a warm and welcoming host and was happy to answer all of our questions. We will definitely be back!

    Brenda2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lynelle’s home was exactly what we needed! It was clean, cozy, and close to downtown Holland. She was quick to communicate, and even made sure the snow was cleared before we got up in the morning. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we loved the decor. I highly recommend staying here for your Holland stay!

Cozy, cute and perfectly located in Holland, Michigan. Approximately 660 square ft apartment that boasts a darling coastal decor. It is located directly across from Lake Macatawa with a free boat ramp right across the street. The township is putting in a kayak launch/ park next to the launch in summer 2020. An indoor and outdoor porch will help create that cottage like feel in this quaint, comfortable space. The house was built in 1900 but has been completely renovated with modern conveniences.
Really best suited for couples. A nice retreat whether young or old.....this will offer what you are looking for.
We love this neighborhood. Across the road are some of the most beautiful homes that are right on the lake. There is a quaintness about the area and there is rich history here. The houses on each side of our house are family homes, not rentals and they are very pleasant people. When I want to go for a walk, I head to Southshore drive and stroll along the sidewalk. there is a bike path right outside our front door and we do provide two bikes for your use. Lots of joggers and families and bikers love this road too. The Eldean Marina and Macatawa Bay Yacht club are just down the road from the house.
  • Accommodated us amazingly in the middle of a crazy time in our country. Clean, spacious layout, and incredibly responsive! We will be returning.

  • Karl & Barb’s is my favorite spit to stay when I’m in Holland. It’s in a beautiful part of town and is so cozy! Barb was there to greet me and even helped me pick a route for my long Saturday run! I always know she’s just a text away if I need anything. Soft, cozy bed, fully functional kitchen, so many great amenities. I spent my Saturday night reading on the couch and it was absolutely perfect. Thanks again!

    Lisa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karl and Barb’s place is so homey and the board games offered are super fun! The home was easy to find with the details given by Karl and Barb. Whenever we thought we didn’t have something kitchen related, we just pulled open another drawer and it was there! Very well stocked kitchen for an Airbnb!

    Piper2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean, stylish space. Well appointed. Very friendly

    Ashley2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Karl and Barb made our stay amazing. The apartment was very cozy and it felt like home! There were so many thoughtful little touches, and I loved the little coffee/tea station. If we ever come back, we would definitely stay with them again!

    Karina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first Airbnb experience! Karl and Barb set the standard high! ;). We had a wonderful stay. Holland is one of our favorite places in the world, and staying at South Shore Retreat makes it that much sweeter!

A 3rd floor apartment at the top of a Victorian home just off the corner of Centennial Park. A short walk to everything downtown. From our guests: "The location couldn't have been better, and the apartment was SO spacious, with everything we needed. " "This place is great - the attic is much larger than expected from the pictures, and comfortably fit 4 of us for a weekend. I loved the cute vintage artifacts throughout the attic" "Awesome place! Awesome location! Very roomie and quaint!"
WHAT OUR GUESTS LOVE: We have a great location next to Centennial Park, a short walk (330 yards) to shopping and eating downtown, and just off of the Hope College. The space is larger than people expect. The apartment is clean. We do a full wipe down, vacuum, and wet mop between each guest. OUR VIBE A former attic turned apartment, the place is on the third floor of a Victorian house. We are hoping to cultivate a place that is restful that inspires people to think, read, write, create, draw, and engage. We are slowly adding to the spaces collection of art, books, and objects to stimulate thoughtfulness and engagement. The place is called the Artists Attic because we are planning to offer a small artist residency through the space. Your stay helps support the dream (coming 2020), thank you! OUR HISTORY A Victorian house built in 1892 for the first president of Hope College (Gerrit Kollen) and his wife Mary Van Raalte. Mary's father Albertus Van Raalte is said to be the "founder" of Holland and is represented by a large statue in Centennial Park. Our house was soon after split into multiple apartments and has been kept as multiple apartments since that time. TRAVELING WITH KIDS We have a 4 and 1 year old ourselves and know it can be harder to travel with kids in tow. We keep a baby gate in the apartment for the top of the stairs if you have a toddler or crawler. We do not keep toys in the space but please message us in advance if you need toys (we have a humble collection), a pack and play, a changing table, stroller, or any other items you may have forgotten or didn’t want to pack along. It is worth a mention that running, jumping, and stomping (even for toddlers) reverberates throughout the house. You can be kind to the neighbors below you by limiting running, jumping, and stomping. Don’t worry about a little bit of running or jumping, it is only the nonstopped variety that can test the neighbors patience. If your children have unlimited and uncontainable energy that expresses itself as thunderous stomping for extended periods of time you might find our apartment frustrating. THE LAYOUT The main bedroom has an olympic queen bed and the second bedroom is a smaller room with a queen bed. There is an additional room for sitting in addition to a main open room, a galley kitchen, and a bathroom. FAIR WARNINGS (We don’t like surprises either!): The stairs getting to the 3rd floor are steep. Not a problem if you are healthy, but possibly frustrating if you are carrying heavy loads or have health issues. In the summer the air conditioners are installed in the windows of the bedroom. No TV (We have Roku on a 24” monitor that can be brought up by request)
We are on the outside edge of the Hope College neighborhood. It is quiet, like a normal neighborhood but still a short walk to any place on Hopes campus. We are also 3-4 blocks from downtown. The beach is 10-15 minutes by car.
  • Really cool place within walking distance to downtown. Very clean. Highly recommend!!

    Courtney2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • As a lot of other reviews said, the space is bigger than you might think from the listing. Rob was fantastic, and I loved that I never moved my car between check-in and check-out - there were plenty of places to eat and drink in easy walking distance. Place was quiet as well, great for a calm "recharge".

    Connor2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing service and location!

  • If you are visiting Holland for any reason, and you want somewhere unique to stay. This is perfect! Three of us stayed there and we could have still been comfortable with even more people. Check in was super easy, and the host was very communicative. It was also nice to have a place to park. The place itself is very well decorated and has a wonderful historic charm. Really nothing bad to say!

    Maxwell2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome space that's close to downtown! Literally walking distance to the best breweries! Super clean space, easy check-in, host is super responsive and the space is really cool with tons of entertainment!

This small cottage/guest house is located about 2 miles from the Holland State Park and 3 miles from downtown. It is perfectly situated behind the main house with it's own parking area and space. The back door opens to a view of a large open field. Great for singles or couples.
This small, private cottage/guest house is accessed by turning into the driveway and through the first set of gates to the back of the property where you will see the house right next to the barn. Parking is in front of the house and there will be a key available for easy and self access. The inside of the house has everything you will need for a comfortable stay including t.v. and internet. Holland State Park is about 2 miles down the road and our wonderful downtown Holland is about 4 miles away. This tiny house is off of the main road and the back door view into the field makes it seem like you are in your own private little hideaway.

  • A really cute little place tucked away behind a larger dwelling. Only a few minutes away from Lake Michigan and numerous parks and activities. We had our nine-month-old with us. She slept like a baby and so did we. We appreciated the privacy, the full kitchen, and the bottle of wine the host left for us. Recommend.

Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids). It's neat, cozy and comfortable. Big, beautiful patio space can be shared with main house. Quiet location, 2 blocks from Lake Macatawa, and just miles from downtown Holland, Saugatuck, and beaches like Saugatuck dunes and Oval beach. Take an evening hike at Sanctuary Woods just around the corner. Also includes cable and wifi!
This is a cozy, clean, comfortable space in a quiet neighborhood. We are on almost an acre of property and back up to a wooded area, making it a peaceful place to enjoy lake breezes. In addition to the bedroom's queen-sized bed, there is a new double-sized sleeper sofa to give extra space for larger parties, or guests that like to spread out. We are a short walk from Sanctuary Woods, and link up to a well-maintained, paved walking/biking path that connects all over Holland. Take advantage of Holland's excellent Farmer's Market, dining, and shopping options. We are also near Saugatuck/Douglas and all its artistic charm, to say nothing of the area beaches! Being a little "out of the way" means you're not stuck in tourist traffic!
This is a quiet neighborhood a bit out of town. It is mostly family homes, but there is a restaurant, Black Sheep, and convenience store nearby (about 1 mile).

  • You can expect a private, cozy, adorably furnished cottage. Everything you need for a quiet get away for two (or a few more if you don't mind everyone in the same room - the space is open concept except for the bathroom. Sitting area with comfy sofa, last blanket and pillows and large tv with assortment of movies, books and games. Kitchen including oven/stove range, sink with drinking water filter, cookware, coffeemaker and toaster and mini fridge. Bedroom has very comfortable full sized bed (guessing memory foam mattress?) And plenty of blankets (down comforter was a really, really nice touch on February nights. Thermostat for the whole place. Bathroom is relatively small, with the water heater in the corner and well pump under the shelves, but clean and functional with toilet, sink/mirror, shower stall, clean towels for two, and nice hot water. Bath soap, shampoo and conditioner were a nice touch. Check in and out were easy and Jamie was very responsive via text. We didn't actually interact with the family but Jamie made it clear she would assist if needed. Despite the cottage being in the family's back yard, we felt we had a lot of privacy and hope we didn't interrupt our hosts' privacy too much coming and going. Overall, one of our best Airbnb experiences yet. Would definitely do again. Thanks, so much, Jamie!

Downtown Holland is 3 miles away - enjoy a thriving farmer’s market, breweries, wineries, restaurants, movie theaters, and shops. Holland offers various festivals, live music, and more year-round. • Awesome comfortable space, but even more important, it was SUPER CLEAN!! Jeff and Ann were fantastic hosts, very outgoing and hospitable. Location is great for a bike ride to the beach. Also about a 10 minute drive to everything downtown Holland has to offer. Would definitely recommend!!

  • Ann is an exceptional host that creates an environment that is both clean and welcoming. I would recommend this stay for anyone that is looking for a relaxing time away from home or just in need of a sweet getaway. I will definitely be returning to Ann's place and highly recommend to anyone searching for a vacation stay.

  • This home is really nice and the setting is beautiful. The accommodations are spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The hosts were so friendly and hospitable! I enjoyed visiting downtown Holland and having many good restaurants to choose from right close by. It was super convenient to drive down the road to see Lake Michigan. I would love to come back to experience the pool this spring or summer! Loved everything about it!

  • Deb and Gary's place is our favorite Airbnb so far, and they have all been great in their own ways. Their home is ABSOLUTELY LOVELY, and they are the kindest, most peacefully present people you will ever have the honor of meeting. I shouldn't be telling you this, as now I'll never be able to get back in once you all start booking your stays, but truly, save some for the rest of us as we ALL need some goodness in our lives. :)

    Belinda2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Deb and Gary were amazing hosts. Its a cute place by the lake and we enjoyed the conversations a lot. Would definitely love to go back and stay with them if we are around Holland.

    Meera2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The accommodations are immaculate! I felt warmly welcomed by Deb. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer. I would definitely return.

  • This is the perfect place to get away! The house is beautiful, comfortable, spotless, and so inviting. You won’t find nicer hosts anywhere!

    Carolyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Deb and Gary were such gracious hosts. Their guest suite, guest bath and sitting room that is offered to guests, is beautifully and thoughtfully furnished. Very comfortable. And if you’re lucky enough to be around the home for conversation, the rest of their home is just as charming. Access to the kitchen for morning coffee and tasty continental breakfast offerings, was a wonderful start to our morning. Deb offered recommendations on local restaurants and a cross country ski area, which both turned out to be excellent choices for us. We were so happy we chose their home for our get away. We 100% recommend to other quests.

    Angela2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Superb. Spotless, easy check-in, beautiful, comfortable home. Deb was a wonderful hostess. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and our conversations with Deb and her sister. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Brand new construction 2018. Open concept, community kitchen and living room with just me (if I'm home). Each bedroom has it's own TV as well. Great neighborhood. We can be social or private and I rarely have company. Private bedroom and full bathroom. Gas log fireplace, in floor radiant heat, central air. All kitchen amenities included
Great open concept in a nice neighborhood on a semi wooded lot.
Lots of first and second home buyers, newlyweds and couples from 25-45. A few kids riding bikes etc. And walking dogs. You can feel right at home taking a walk in the neighborhood!
  • Jason's place was amazing. From framed messages answering questions you may have to a couple mints on the bathroom towels. He has a beautiful home that is inviting and super clean. Absolutely recommend.

    Brad2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Jason's place is clean and beautiful. He is a great communicator and host. Highly recommended!

  • Stylish space. Close to Gun Lake Casino.

    Eric2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • It’s comforting to know that even when a guest is comin’ in hot and about to collapse from exhaustion that all the amenities needed to take of care of oneself and get a good night’s rest before hitting the road bright and early are but merely at one’s fingertips.

    Kristina2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Don’t Procrastinate, Y’all! Be swift and quick when considering booking Jason’s Airbnb! Take it from someone who has had this Airbnb stay unexpectedly sniped out from under her twice recently: be absolutely certain to book Jason’s place as far in advance as you are able, and do so with cheetah-like speed. If you hesitate you will be cursing yourself later as you spend countless hours of self-inflicted punishment in airbnb posting purgatory, desperately scrounging and searching to find an equivalent stay that is as amazingly comfortable, clean and uncluttered, super-affordable, with a host whose hospitality is unparalleled! Forewarned is fair-warned: the battle between guests attempting to score this stay is real! 🤣😂.

    Kristina2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jason is a very respectful and kind host! I enjoyed the experience

    Kandace2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • It is impossible for me recommend any more highly Jason as a host, or his home as an airbnb guest residence. A natural servant leader, Jason’s inherent passion to serve and care for others through keen observation, analysis, perception, and intuition allows him to stand out among airbnb hosts time and time again. With an unparalleled hospitality prowess and consistent intention of perfection, it is clearly evident that Jason takes great pride in offering guests an extremely clean and comfortable home-away-from-home experience at a more-than-affordable price. Without question, Jason strives to make every guest’s experience as comfortable and enjoyable as reasonably possible...and sometimes even as comfortable and enjoyable as un-reasonably possible :) As I am a frequent guest at Jason’s, his steel trap-like mind has complied a list of my personal preferences. Upon every single one of my arrivals, I am pleasantly surprised to find that Jason has preemptively made adjustments to the standard hospitality set up in order to accommodate my specific personal preferences and needs. And without fail, this starts my stay off with a giant grin on my face as I walk through the door. The thermostat will have already been adjusted to the temperature that works best for me. The guest room bed will have been made-up in my favorite sheets and comforter. A bath mat will have been set out for me. And sometimes, if I’m super lucky, an extra Andes mint, my favorites, will be set out for me upon check-in! All of these simple and small, but sincerely appreciated gestures bring me back to Jason’s pretty much every time I’m in need of a place to stay. Between Jason’s commitment to providing the best stay possible for all of his guests, and his positive, cheerful, and caring personality, I find that I always walk through the door feeling as if I am just as welcome in Jason’s home as if I did actually live there :) PS - For a very detailed review on the layout, furnishings, amenities, and locale of Jason’s home, please see my July 2019 review from my very first stay :)

  • FIVE STARS all the way around. The pics don’t do the place justice. Very spacious. Very clean. Very well appointed. Jan and Jerry thought of everything! The welcome basket was a great touch after a three hour drive to the cottage. We would definitely recommend to anyone!

  • What a great place to stay! Everything we needed was there and the living room was perfect for us to hang out and enjoy each other’s company. Jan was easy to communicate with and provided a lot of local tips and ideas.

    Julie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful lakefront home with beautiful views via the wall of windows in the main sitting room. Open floor plan between that room and kitchen area afford same great view of lake for those who like to cook while staying at an Airbnb home. The number of bedrooms and floor plan allow for plenty of privacy and space if staying with friends or extended family. Hospitality is quite a gift and Jan displayed that! Waiting for us when we arrived were some yummy snacks, a dip in the fridge, and a bottle of wine. Many thanks!!

  • If you enjoy artistic touches, this is a great place for you. The view is wonderful, of course, but the painted doors and other touches from Sticks make it even more special. Jan was a gracious hostess, leaving us a bottle of wine plus some snacks and staples. We also enjoyed the hot tub on a chilly October evening. Unfortunately, some of our family could not make the trip, so there were only 3 of us in the house that sleeps 11, but we invited the local family over for an evening and had a great time.

  • Natalie's home was great. It felt like a home away from home. Natalie thought of every little detail for a wonderful vacation from beach towels to board games. The house was spotless as well. The house is set in neighborhood that is located about 10 minutes (drive) away from downtown holland and about 10 minutes to the beach. The back yard was fenced and there was a doggy door to the sunroom so our puppy loved it as well. This wasn't a big deal, but it rained the second day we were there so we had to come back home early. The TV would not connect to the wifi or work. We were all able to connect to the free wifi and just bypass this easily.

    Mina2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie's home had absolutely everything we needed for our stay. The home is in a great location, and super close to the beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the home and fire pit as well.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Colonial Cottage. We loved walking around the neighborhood and it was a quick drive to the beach at Holland State Park. We enjoyed making s’mores in the fire pit and the kids loved running around in the backyard. Natalie was quick to respond to all of our questions. I definitely recommend staying here!

  • We were thrilled with our choice to stay in Ryan and Karen’s cute bungalow home this past weekend! We enjoyed spending time just looking at the special decor and touches throughout the home. It was clean, cozy with all of the necessary amenities. The location was perfect for walking downtown to shop and dine! It helped to make for an even more special girl’s weekend getaway!

  • Us kids bought our parents a weekend getaway in which they stayed at this space! Ryan and Karen were so great helping me get things set up and made sure to go out of their way to welcome them! My parents said the location was great and the house was adorable!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Ryan and Karen's place worked perfectly for us with our 9 month old. The space was cozy and welcoming - and very child proof. We loved all the natural light. The location is also perfect! A few blocks from downtown 8th Street, and a half mile from Washington Square. Washington Square has a great play place/coffee shop if you have little ones, called Square Place Cafe. Kollen Park is also nearby. We'd love to stay here again!

  • This property is a perfect option for your visit to Holland. The house is very comfortable and has all the amenities you would expect to find at home. Check-in/check-out is a breeze and super convenient to downtown. It's a short walk to the many restaurants and shops. We would highly recommend and we're definitely staying here again!

    SongSoo2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect bungalow in a perfect location! Easy to get to and an easy walk to all of charming downtown Holland. It was clean, cozy, and filled with art. I would definitely stay there again next time I'm in town. Thanks, Ryan & Karen!

    Morgan2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! Inviting, cozy, beautiful. So many little touches that made us feel at home. Great location. Will definitely be back.

    Angela2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved the historic bungalow. It has been wonderfully updated and was located conveniently to the downtown Holland.

    Craig2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Short walking distance to downtown Holland, which is what my boyfriend and I wanted for our New Year's Eve stay. For light sleepers, it might be a bit noisy at night - the house's location is on a somewhat busy corner. Ryan and Karen were great at communicating with us and provided tips on what to do and where to eat in the area. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Holland is a Pure Michigan delight... Located on the shores of Lake Michigan, you will love the activities, the community, and the lifestyle that makes Holland a favorite Michigan destination. From the award-winning downtown to the white sandy beaches, you'll fall in love with Holland's small-town charm and big-city amenities. Dine along the waterfront or at a local café. Hike to the top of a sand dune or climb to the top of a windmill! Shop for a paddleboard, or a pair of wooden shoes. Visit neighborhood art fairs, enjoy a theatre performance, stroll the downtown sidewalks, or tour a modern college campus. Sail the waters of Lake Michigan or hike the trails in one of our wooded parks. Watch a brilliant sunset over Lake Michigan. And last but not least, Holland is also home to the world-famous Tulip Time Festival in May each year. No matter what your interests, you won't be disappointed!
  • We had a great overnight stay during Holland's Tulip Time Festival. The house is beautiful - it is historic with beautiful wood carving touches, yet it is also very updated and spacious. We were a group of 5 people (we asked ahead of time if 5 would be permitted) and the home definitely was spacious enough for all of us with three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, large kitchen, living room and dining room. It was a perfect location for the Tulip Time Run (one block away). It was also very close to downtown, however we did choose to drive down there (not sure how long a walk it would be). We really enjoyed our stay. One thing to note to the owner - please get a hairdryer for guests. It is such a simple and inexpensive item that would help guests a lot.

  • Really amazing place to stay at. The renovations are amazing and the place is much larger than expected. Huge fully stocked kitchen, large dining area, and stylish living room. Washer and dryer is the icing on the cake!!

  • This home is well appointed and cozy. Everything we needed for our stay was there for us. We cooked several family meals and enjoyed ourselves at AC’s home. Plenty of towels and extra linens, smart tv w Netflix. Great place to stay in Holland.

  • AC's place was adorable! I loved staying there.

    Sam2018-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great. Wonderful house in a great area. Felt like you where at home. Easy deadbolt combo lock to enter and exit. Close to downtown and the water. WiFi was great through out the house. We had 3 people streaming at once with no problem. The only bad thing I can’t pick out of all the wonderful one would have to be the plumbing. Had to flush a few times on both toilets. It was giving us trouble all week. I would definitely come again. Thank you! Great house

    Jacob2018-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is really charming, located near downtown Holland and an easy walk to Lake Macatawa and Boatwerks Restaurant. The home has many of the original 1901 woodworking touches, but with a brand new kitchen and 2 bathrooms with beautiful details. The beds were very comfortable and had plenty of linens. Due to the chilly weather, we weren't able to enjoy the cute patio and nice backyard. Super-clean, you will enjoy your stay at Ac's place!

This is the unscented basement level of our house (12 steps down). You will have your own spacious living/dining area. There is a separate bedroom with a locked door and a legal egress window. It has a queen bed, a twin bed. The ceilings are low (just shy of 7 feet), so if you are tall you may be uncomfortable. Scents cause my asthma to flair up, so we strive to keep our home unscented, so no spraying of perfume, body sprays, etc. Obviously, no candles or room fresheners.
Our house is a 2 minute drive (or an easy 10 minute walk) to Tunnel Park and Lake Michigan. We are a 5 minute drive to Holland State Park and 14 minutes to Downtown Holland. There are several excellent restaurants 5-10 minutes from our home. Saugatuck and Grand Haven are about 25 minutes away. We live in the upper level were there is also another guest bedroom.
Our neighborhood is walkable with plenty of flora and fauna. Many opportunities for cycling.

  • New Years spent very well at this lovely and fun place. Amazing decor throughout the place, Christmas vibes everywhere. There was a lot to do for us, from pool to foosball, or to enjoy music and movies on 3 separate TV's. All cooking amenities are there aswell. Perfect place for a couple of introvert youngsters like ourselves. Lol. Host is very kind and showed us everything we would've needed to know, Amanda's communication makes it very comfortable to enjoy the stay.
