Relax with expansive views of Lake Superior as you bask in the glow of the fireplace's radiance. Waves echoing off the brownstone cliff upon which this special home is perched, absorb the splendor of bald and golden eagles soaring the sky only feet away. Minutes from your nest is Meyer's Beach, the common entry point to begin your kayak or hiking excursion to the sea and ice caves of this, the greatest of all lakes. Bike, hiking, motorsports and XC ski trails abound. Rest or play. It's all here.
A wall of windows keeps glorious Lake Superior in view while you enjoy the solitude of this home in the woods while lounging on all new, stylish furniture. Snowmobile and ATV trails/routes are literally at my driveway's entry point. The area also has world class, well maintained fat tire bike trails that are groomed for winter riding. Wanna mush your own sled team of dogs? That's available nearby as well. If indoor gaming is more your speed, just short of 20 minutes from Sky Fire towards Bayfield, "Legendary Water's & Casino" awaits your arrival. A peaceful, 1.3 mile walk from the home will have you stepping foot onto a glorious sandy swimming beach. With Lake Superior literally lapping at your feet, this beach stretches over a mile to the quaint town of Cornucopia where you'll find the marina, coffee shop, restaurant/bar and the, "It has everything" general store that is *Ehler's. A 23 mile drive into Bayfield, WI will take you to a charming community serving tourist and locals alike, all of whom have an affinity for the allure of the nearby Apostle Islands that await your visit. Just a short ferry ride away, quaint Madeline Island is yours to explore and enjoy. There are several wonderful hiking trails that lead to hidden oasis-type waterfalls in the area, to include nationally recognized, Siskiwit Falls! Siskiwit Falls carved out and polished a natural rock water slide that has been enjoyed for generation by those lucky enough to have discovered it. The cost for all of this family, outdoor fun enjoying the trails, falls and swimming holes? None and the return of memories made is priceless! Your wonderful day having turned to night, the dark, amazingly starry sky over Lake Superior may grace the night owl with a show of the amazingly beautiful northern lights. *Ehler's opens for the season on May 1st
Oh my goodness. Cornucopia is your starting point to the Apostle Islands National Lake Shore. As such, the outdoor activities to be had in the area are as endless as your imagination. Less than eight miles from Sky Fire lie the Sea Caves of the south shore that can be explored by kayaks. and boats alike. In the winter, these very caves become the Ice Caves you've seen covered by national media outlets. You can charter a captain to take you out in a boat to tour the Apostle Islands. A ferry is available in Bayfield (23 miles away) that's capable of taking you and your car/camper across Lake Superior to spectacular Madeline Island. Fishing charters are plentiful in the area. Hiking trails and more amazing hiking trails abound. If you like ATVing or biking, we have trails for those pursuits as well. Awesome nearby waterfalls include nationally recognized "Siskwit Falls" that makes a natural water slide for those playing in her waters and "Lost Creek Falls" with its great swimming hole at the base of the falls. There are parks and class 1 trout streams all within minutes of Sky Fire. If you are a seeker of the Aurora Borealis, otherwise known as the Northern Lights, the north view across the expanse of Lake Superior right from the comfort of the home provides excellent viewing opportunities should the Aurora forecast be in your favor.
  • Breathtaking views. Cabin goals. We’ll revisit soon

  • Eli is a super friendly host and the location is killer. You can expect a great stay when you book here.

  • Space is lovely- great views, clean, well stocked and peaceful. There are 2 other properties but we didn't hear them. We didn't stay long enough to walk around, but I suspect it provides for some great sight seeing. Great space for 6 people with enough room, especially if you can enjoy the outside

    Beth2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • A true home away from home and for a mom with grown children and grandchildren, it was a home to reconnect and enjoy each other’s company. The house was perfect and had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Not to mention Lake Superior right outside! Would definitely stay here again!

  • When booking a place for two 50-something friends to do our annual girls trip (without husbands/kids), we decided on the Bayfield/Madeline Island/Apostle Islands. We contemplated staying in each of the mentioned cities, bit determined that Bayfild was a bit too busy/expensive, Mad Island did not have enough to keep us busy for 3 days and this place seemed just right. Close enough to Bayfield to drive daily (25 minutes of easy driving) and so reasonable on price. So, we booked. Pros: Price/Location: The price is absolutely wonderful compared to homes in the cities mentioned. It was pretty centrally located to everything we wanted to do, and Lost Adventures (best kayak place) was minutes away for a caves trip. After spending nights in Bayfield, we were VERY happy to retreat to our quiet locale after dinners. Ehlers Market is a store about a mile from the house that had staples. Think hardware store with groceries (including high end cheeses and crackers, meats, milk and other staples). The Space: The space is WONDERFUL - gorgeous views of Lake Superior and insanely quiet and peaceful. The home is nestled in the woods overlooking Superior. Great room is large enough to feel spacious and the yard area is ample. Amenities are great....From the google system for music to the nicer appliances, we wanted for nothing. Fire pit area was wet appointed and even had marshmallow sticks! There are two bars that serve food within a few miles (note that they are not open Mon-Weds though!!!) The Cons: If you are looking for a party palace, this is not it. It is in a quiet residential area. If you need bars close to home, stay elsewhere. Bars/restaurants and nightlife is a drive. For us, this was not an issue as I prefer sunsets over Superior with wine in my hand! One bedroom had windows that only opened to the shared porch. Not an issue for us, but not a lot of airflow which could be an issue for some. If you are looking for GREAT value and a wonderfully clean space, this is it! We had a simply fabulous time and will 100% be back. I may even bring my husband and dog next trip! :) Thank you, Eli, for a great peaceful slice of life. Your home is amazing!

  • What a gorgeous cabin! It's attached to the owner's home through a breezeway but honestly I wouldn't have ever known - the cabin felt totally secluded and private. You get gorgeous views of the lake (no water access at the cabin but there are several wonderful beaches super close by!). The cabin itself was beautiful, clean, & cozy. Also a huge plus is that it's pet friendly!!

One of a kind, open/loft-concept (see pics: it really is open) artisan-crafted lake home on Superior's south shore: paddle in summer/ice hike in winter. Breathtaking sunsets. 300+ feet of private shoreline or short walk to public beach. Great kitchen. Huge patio with built-in fire pit (firewood not provided!) Up to 8 people and most dogs welcome (just ask!) We book 6 months out, so mark calendar to check back if looking before then!) Look carefully/read all captions, esp. regarding privacy!
We are situated right on Lake Superior's South Shore, and we own an additional 7.5 acres just across the road with a peaceful, winding trail cut into them. (Note: It's not regularly groomed, so may get overgrown if not enough people take walks on it!) Albums have been recorded here, bestselling books written (really!), marriages begun and anniversaries celebrated, and many beautiful memories made. We kept this for ourselves and our close friends for 13 years, but as our kids became teenagers and we were able to get here less, we wanted to bless others by sharing its unique beauty and incomparable setting. **Please note all pics and captions - the uniqueness of the home may make it unsuitable for your needs: for example, we don't have traditional bedrooms with 4 walls and a door, and the staircase IS NOT little kid friendly! We want you happy, comfortable and safe, so do your homework by reading entire listing and viewing the pics!!
We are on the water facing west: a rare, wonderful find on Lake Superior. Across the water (way across!) on a clear night, you can see the lights from Duluth all the way to Little Marais! The south shore has SO much to offer! Summer water and cycling adventures and winter skiing, snowshoeing, ice-cave oogling, to name a few.
  • Beautiful home with an amazing view. Perfect for our Mini-moon. We will definitely be back!

  • Definitely stay here! My favorite Airbnb experience to date!

    Mary2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Just wow. What a lovely and cozy home. We could not have been happier. We enjoyed a fabulous girl's weekend away with 7-of us. Beds were super comfy, space heaters were such a nice touch and really worked well. The kitchen was literally a foodies dream come true. Spacious and stocked. Our favorite part of the trip was sitting out by the bonfire enjoying the gorgeous view. It was exactly as described with a very open floor plan, and we loved it. The driveway was a bit smaller than we expected but still fit our three large vehicles just fine. Communication with Stephanie was excellent and she was happy to answer our numerous questions. Thank you for such an amazing weekend!!!

Welcome to Casa Cranberry! Settle into the peace and quiet near the south shore of Lake Superior in the northern Wisconsin woods. Have a campfire next to the Cranberry River, and let the sounds of the river lull you to sleep at night. Fish in this class A trout stream, check out the fall colors, go cross country skiing, explore the ice caves. Casa Cranberry is a perfect jumping-off point to explore Bayfield and the Apostle Islands. Only four miles to Herbster Beach on Lake Superior.
Casa Cranberry is fully winterized as a year-round cabin. It is wonderfully peaceful and cozy in the fall and winter. Snuggle up by the fireplace with a book and watch the snow fall outside, or go for a winter hike, go cross country skiing, or explore the ice caves. The cabin has internet and some cell phone service. AT&T works well, but that's about it. The kitchen is fully stocked. Plan to bring all your own groceries. There is a charcoal grill available to use. There is no hunting or firearms allowed on the property. Fishermen are welcome. Pets are not allowed.
Casa Cranberry is three miles from Lake Superior and picturesque Herbster Beach; 10 miles from Cornucopia; and 30 miles from Bayfield where the ferry leaves for Madeline Island. It's a ten-minute drive to Meyer's Beach - the entrance to the ice caves. There are cross-country skiing trails about 20 miles away at Valhalla Recreation Area. The Cranberry River - a class A trout stream - borders the property. The river is right out the front door. Enjoy falling asleep to the sound of the river.
  • This is a beautiful home. Well-appointed kitchen. Spotless. Big bonus was the turn-table with classic albums. Rebecca's communication with us was stellar. Five adults enjoyed the place comfortably. I can't say enough good things about this place!

    Amy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A very well-stocked kitchen, and cozy space made this a great place for a winter vacation. We snowshoed during the day and came back to cook dinner, relax, and play board games. A cozy and comfortable cabin stay !

    Alicia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our family of four was right at home at Casa Cranberry. Cozy (plenty of blankets, cards & board games, gas fireplace) and organized well for a seamless stay. Location was gorgeous and close to Herbster and Hwy 13 for getting around the south shore. Our host, Rebecca, was responsive to questions and check-in was a breeze. We really loved our stay there and would love to visit again.

    Jess2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cabin in the woods was a perfect place to stay while we were in the area for Book Across the Bay! The cabin was well stocked, especially in the kitchen area, and had ample space for our group of five. The record player was an especially nice touch! Rebecca was very easy to communicate with and check in and check out were very easy. The local suggestions she had were also very helpful-we really enjoyed eating at Maggie’s in Bayfield as per her recommendations! I think this would also be a great place to stay in the summer. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a woodland get away!

    Britta2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The kind of place that would be easy to go back to.

    Paul2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the perfect place to stay for a northern Wisconsin getaway! Very nice amenities and atmosphere in a very private and remote location

    Seth2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed my stay at Casa Cranberry! The cabin location made the ice cave hiking trail easily accessible, and was a cozy place to relax in after our time outdoors.

    Hannah2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Cranberry was beautifully secluded, but was still only a couple miles from the nearest town. The snow and stream by the house were gorgeous when we were there. The host also went above and beyond in her hospitality.

Applegate Cottage is an adorable cottage right on Highway 13 in Herbster, WI - the gateway to the abundant orchards and wineries of Bayfield, and the Apostle Islands - all just half an hour away. A very short walk to beautiful Lake Superior, located on the Lake Superior Circle Tour. Enjoy kayaking, or explore the sea/ice caves. One hour from the infamous Birkie Trail. There is absolutely no better place to enjoy any season of the year!
Applegate cottage is a open lay-out modern home. Enjoy the upstairs loft, complete with a balcony and screened in-porch. The kitchen is ready for you to work your magic, but there are also several places to eat in Bayfield, Port Wing, Washburn, Corny and Herbster.

  • Applegate Cottage checks all the boxes. It's cute and spacious, the location is fabulous, and the price is fantastic! Holly is a great communicator both through the instructions given and in messaging back and forth. She changes the door code with each guest, so it feels secure while being a breeze to check-in. The cottage is a short walk to the beach and is right off the highway for super easy access to Herbster and other area towns to explore. You have to check out all of the little shops and restaurants along the shore. So many wonderful places to visit and Applegate is the perfect place to call home while you do. Highly recommended! Thank you, Holly!

    Jill2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Applegate Cottage was relaxing. The cottage was warm and inviting from the minute we opened the front door. We had plenty of space to curl up and read a book, watch a movie, eat a few delicious meals and play cribbage (and sleep, too). The cottage is located a little bit out of the way from the things we were planning on doing, but we knew that going in. The drive to all of our hiking/snowshoeing destinations was fine because we didn't have a schedule. The shower was a great warm up at the end of a chilly day outside. The location is a close walk to Lake Superior, which would be wonderful in the summer. A very enjoyable stay!

    Gina2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Applegate Cottage is a great place to stay for a weekend getaway. We enjoyed our experience there and were thrilled that we were able to have our pet with us for the weekend!

  • We throughly enjoyed our stay! It sits in a beautiful location and is an amazing cottage which is walking distance to everything in town. We spent our evening walking through down town and enjoyed sitting at the beach watching the sunset. Sandy was awesome and is such a kind host. I would highly recommend the "Raccoon House". It was such a nice stay for a wonderful night away! There is no other place like it in the area. We will definitely visit again. Thanks Sandy!!! Michael & Liz

Our wall tent offers a sweet retreat in the woods about 10 miles outside of Bayfield. We are located on a small working organic farm with a high tunnel, gardens, apple trees, and rustic accommodations. We are close to great outdoor recreation near Lake Superior and are about 6 miles from Meyers Beach in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Our property is located on 40 acres and has a beautiful view of Lake Superior. We are on the edge of thousands of acres of county land. The perfect escape!
A Few Notes: Electricity: There is no electricity. We suggest bringing a headlamp or flashlight. Bathrooms: We have an outhouse, so expect to venture out of the tent to use the restroom. The porta potty is down by the parking area, so plan to use the restroom before heading up to the tent. If you are at all concerned about the distance, the wall tent may not be the right fit for you as we are offering a unique and rustic experience. There is no shower onsite. Communication: There is no WIFI or cell phone service. If you are looking to unplug, this is the perfect place for you! For emergencies there is a phone inside the yurt that can be used. Heat: There is a woodstove inside the tent for your use. Firewood is provided. Pets: No Pets allowed! Period... Smoking: No Smoking INSIDE the tent. Feel free to smoke outside, but dispose of your butts safely. Bedding: We have one queen bed in the tent. Linens are provided. Daily housekeeping is not provided. Capacity: We can accommodate 2 guests. If you have a larger group, inquire about renting the yurt onsite as well. Cooking: There is no kitchen onsite, but we do have a fire ring with cooking grate. Please leave your food in your vehicle, if the tent is unattended. There are black bears around and we don't want them to eat your dinner. No candles or open flames in the tent. Water: We provide a 5 gallon jug of water. If you need more, the nearest artesian well is in Cornucopia, WI. Garbage: We are a leave no trace operation. Please pack in and pack out your goods. Self check in-We live nearby, but are not always at the farm. Plan for self check in. We can be reached via text or call if you have any needs during your stay. Rustic Yurt Rental-There is a yurt onsite available to rent as well. You may see guests from the yurt, but we have a 40 acres property and there is plenty of privacy. Please park in designated areas, so as not to block the driveway for other guests. I know we live in the woods, but please respect our wishes.. No firearms. No fireworks. No hunting.
We are located near lots of natural beauty.. the most beautiful beaches Lake Superior has to offer, great hiking, biking, paddling and fishing. If you are more of a city girl, we are close to great restaurants and shopping in Bayfield. Either way, the wall tent is perfect balance for the person on a budget, who wants to explore a unique setting and have a bed to sleep in!
  • Very clean & cozy! Plenty of space to explore the grounds!

    Ghosty2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley's place was very charming and cozy! There was a little space heater that you can use to warm up during colder weather. She also provided extra blankets and water, which was extremely thoughtful of her.

    Linh2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had an awesome experience at Ashley’s property! Very easy to find and deal with. The tent canvas was really neat and in a beautiful setting. The night we stayed, the low got down to 32 and it snowed, but thankfully the wood stove kept us plenty warm. And the portapotty was thankfully the cleanest we’ve ever seen!

    Jessica2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • This Airbnb exceeded my expectations. It really had everything we needed: a warm, comfortable bed, privacy and a quiet atmosphere to relax. There’s no electricity, phone service, or running water which was fine for our getaway weekend. Be aware it is about a one minute walk to the porta potty/where you park your car and it is very slippery and muddy when it rains. When I was there it rained and was very windy, but the tent is super secure and we stayed safe and dry. We would definitely recommend this cute Airbnb for anyone looking to get away from the city for some peace and quiet.

    Autumn2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • The tent was perfect for what we were looking for. The property and Views are amazing and the little touches inside the tent made it extra special. We will be back!

    Betsy2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • A truly awesome experience! Beautiful nature and awesome hospitality, with the added benefit of seclusion and privacy. This is a perfect ready to go campsite, hope to stay again someday!

Our yurt offers a sweet retreat in the woods about 10 miles outside of Bayfield. We are located on a small working organic farm with a high tunnel, gardens, apple trees, and rustic accommodations. We are close to great outdoor recreation near Lake Superior and are about 6 miles from Meyers Beach in the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Our property is located on 40 acres and is very remote. We are on the edge of thousands of acres of county land. The perfect escape!
A Few Notes: Electricity: We are an off-the-grid solar electric farm, so we have a limited amount of electricity. We suggest bringing a headlamp or flashlight as well as there is only one light in the yurt. In addition to the light, there is an iPod dock/radio. After November 1st, the fridge is turned off, but you can still store your food in it. Bathrooms: We have an outhouse with a composting toilet, so expect to venture out of the yurt to use the restroom. There is no shower onsite. Communication: We have a phone in the yurt for local calls and for emergencies. There is no WIFI or cell phone service. If you are looking to unplug, this is the perfect place for you! Heat: The yurt is heated by wood stove and wood will be provided. During the winter, know that it can take several hours to warm the space and be prepared to feed the fire overnight. Please do not bring your own firewood. We suggest bringing slippers to keep your feet warm during colder months. Pets: No Pets allowed! Period... Smoking: No Smoking INSIDE the yurt. Feel free to smoke outside, but dispose of your butts safely. Bedding: We have one full size futon in the loft and another full size futon on the main floor. Bedding and pillows are NOT provided. Please plan accordingly. Capacity: We have beds for 4 people, but we allow up to 6 people to stay. Obviously, that means numbers five and six have to sleep on the floor. We have hard wood floors, but a sleeping pad is the ticket if you are the lucky person on the floor! Or, feel free to set up a tent on the property if you prefer to have more space. Cooking: We provide a few basics: a set of dishes, silverware, pots/pans. We have a 4 burner propane stove. There is NO oven. We have a fridge for storing food, but it is turned OFF in the winter. You may still keep food in there during your stay. Please make sure your food is secure in the fridge or in a cooler inside the yurt. There are black bears around and we don't want them to eat your dinner. No candles or open flames in the yurt. Water: We provide a 5 gallon jug of water, during the summer months, but during the winter, (November-May) you need to bring your own. The nearest artesian well is in Cornucopia, WI. Otherwise, you can bring water before you come. Garbage: We are a leave no trace operation. Please pack in and pack out your goods. Kids: Here's the deal-kids are welcome, with caution. The yurt is not child proof. We are open to the idea, but it may be more work for you as the parent! I know we live in the woods, but please respect our wishes.. No firearms. No fireworks. No hunting. Camping: Is allowed. However, the number of people onsite cannot exceed 6.
We are located near lots of natural beauty.. the most beautiful beaches Lake Superior has to offer, great hiking, biking, paddling and fishing. If you are more of a city girl, we are close to great restaurants and shopping in Bayfield. Either way, the yurt is perfect balance for the person on a budget, who wants to explore a unique setting and have a bed to sleep in!
  • If you are up for a bit of adventure staying at Ashley’s yurt is an excellent way to unwind and unplug! The cozy wood stove, amenities, and being surrounded by nothing but nature was a great way to step away from bustling city life!

  • This was exactly as described! A rustic yurt on a farm in the middle of nowhere but only about 15-20 minute drive into town! Lots of space and very cozy! A whole new experience to being in the north woods!

    Chris2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is so cute and cozy. A great rustic winter get away and base for all of our ski adventures.

    Samuel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely, wintry time at the yurt! It took us a while to really get it warm, but once we did, it was very toasty! The snowy landscape was beautiful and we enjoyed exploring Bayfield too. We would love to come back in the summer sometime too!

    Sonja2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • What a cozy space in a beautiful place! We were just here for one night in the winter, but we wished we could have stayed much longer. The lack of cell service is a real selling point, as it turns out. I sometimes have a hard time unplugging from the world, but out here, I was able to forget about my email inbox and focus on enjoying my stay. Highly recommended!

    Andrew2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing. Be prepared to trek in, but the property and yurt are amazing. The wood stove keeps the yurt very warm and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back for another visit!

    Danielle2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here! It's a beautiful spot and really well stocked, especially for a yurt!

    Rebecca2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley’s place is a beautiful place to unwind & glamp in style! Super close to tons of outdoor activities. Keep the fire stoked it is an awesome winter getaway! Just a note that you do have to walk a couple hundred feet from the road & to bring snowshoes to get to/from your car, as there is quite a bit of snow (we stayed mid-Jan). You will have a guaranteed adventure staying here!

Garden House provides a quiet adventure near Lake Superior's South Shore featuring fine arts, collectable books, and the art of conversation. It is set on five areas of gardens and forests in the fishing village of Port Wing, Wisconsin.
The Peach Room is a corner room looking over our back gardens. It has a full bed, two chairs, a night stand, and a ceiling fan. The private bath is adjacent to the room and has a tub/shower combination. The room is seven steps up from the entry and dining room, where breakfast is served.
You can "read all about it" at the Port Wing web site. Spend time at one of three beaches, two of which are in State Natural areas. Shop at the Hoth Lee Art Gallery, which features top regional artists, and the Fisher Under Cover Quilt Shop. Eat at The Port, The South Shore Bar, the Bear Paw, or one of the community dinners - they sure know how to cook in Port Wing. Visit the History Center, if it's not open, ask around and find a key.
  • The breakfast at this place are absolutely incredible! Even more incredible are Tom and his wife, Lorine. We felt extremely welcomed and at peace! This place is a must stay if you are traveling the northern part of Wisconsin!

  • Wonderful hospitality! I always enjoy hosts who love their town and nature. Beautiful home and locale.

    Trish2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Karleen were amazing hosts and made us feel right at home. We didn't want to leave! Not only were the rooms and bathrooms immaculate, there was also an amazing homemade 3 course breakfast. Great coffee and a wide range of tea selections. After a quick orientation, they let us know of a few hikes and restaurants to visit and marked them on a map for us. You can tell they have a love for hosting and take wonderful care of their home, garden and guests. Their dog Meg was an added bonus and the sweetest girl. We enjoyed many great conversations! Their hospitality was just wonderful. You are lucky if you get a chance to stay at their B&B!

    Sandra2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. They offer some very nice rooms and a great breakfast.

    Jeanne2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had an event in Duluth to go to and found this gem to stay at. Not only was it much cheaper than any hotel we found in Duluth but the drive is beautiful, the property is amazing with a few small paths to walk on around their garden, the breakfast was very well made. Everything was sparkling clean and comfortable. The hosts know a lot about the area and are great to talk to! Wish we had stayed more than one night.

    Donovan2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I really don’t think this website would let me post all of the wonderful thoughts about our experience here. The nicest, most sincere people you may ever meet. They’ve been hosting for a long time and they’ve got it down. It is so generous of anyone to invite strangers into their home and they let you feel like you really are a part of their home. A very spoiled part, but a part nonetheless. Seriously? Homemade ice cream for breakfast? Personal touches abound. We will be going back.

    Mark2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Karleen are such great hosts ! They have such joy in running their B&B ! I left feeling so refreshed - I am going back there as much as I possibly can with friends and family !! In addition to the stay itself (room/bath/house) their hospitality was so wonderful ! The landscape, Art, quiet places to relax in the yard.... the list is long and I was not there long enough to take in everything. I will be back for sure ... cannot get enough of this !! Thank you both so much Tom and Karleen !!!

Quaint cottage in Cornucopia, WI on Lake Superior. Two BRs, one bath. Full kitchen. Deer in the yard, once a bear. Fire pit, artesian well. Walk to beach, restaurants, shops. Russian Orthodox Church, marina, kayaking, Siskiwit Falls, and so much more! Summer is perfect! Apple season in the fall is incomparable! Enjoy a day driving and looking at the leaves, stopping at orchards and wineries.
While there are no stairs inside the house, there is a deck with three steps, and no railing (the wall of the house on one side). The back entrance has a small set of steps to enter the house. See the picture of the house, where you can check the front deck.
  • This property has everything you need. Just far enough away from the town area for quiet time. The fall colors were great.

    Sean2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a clean and cute cottage in a quiet little town. The heat works great, the shower is very nice, and the cottage comfortably fits three adults.

  • Beth’s cottage feels like you are away from everything while still being a 4 min walk to everything downtown cornucopia has to offer! We had several campfires in the fire pit and ate every meal on the private deck. It was the perfect base to explore the bayfield peninsula.

Perfect launch spot for snowmobiling, skiing, snowshoeing and other snow activities. Less than a mile from snowmobile trail access. They talk about million dollar views - this home has them - from your bed. If you're looking for that log lodge feel in a safe and modern home - you have reached the place. The town of Port Wing is 40 miles from Duluth, just far enough.
The room we rent has a bathroom that is shared - but super clean. Two queen sized beds. Room is on the second floor which gives it the best views
The beaches of Port Wing are some of the finest on the South Shore, where the water tends to be a little warmer than other parts of the lake. The Port bar and restaurant has excellent Friday Fish fry which is part of the South Shore traditions. Close to the Meyers Beach Sea Caves
  • Amazing views of Lake superior! And wonderful hosts, comfy bed, tasty breakfast!

  • What a view! We made it just in time for the sunset on the lake, and it was absolutely worth it. (Don't forget your bug spray for those mosquitoes near the water! They weren't too bad, though.) The place was beautiful, the bed was comfy, and Judy and Dan were fantastic hosts. Next time, I would stay even longer to enjoy all the area has to offer!

    Hannah2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful home with a priceless view of the lake. The hosts were gracious and kind. We will come back!!

    Pamela2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This home is beautiful with a beautiful view of Lake Superior right out the bedroom window! We slept with the window the 2nd night so we could hear the sound of the waves of the lake. Very peaceful!! The area is beautiful and a wonderful place to get some exercise walking down the beach "rock hunting". Judy and Dan were both very friendly and very helpful in giving us suggestions of places to eat and helped me find a church! Thanks so much to both of you!

This rustic, but modernized farmhouse is on 110 acres of woods and apple orchards. Snow is great now! Cross country ski trails are "skier-groomed" on our property. Multiple areas with groomed skiing are within 30-45 minute drives. Located just 3 miles from the South Shore of Lake Superior, and 30 minutes from the Apostle Island Sea Caves, spectacular now with winter ice sculptures, Kinney Valley Farm is a cozy place to stay while exploring the pastoral winter beauty of Northern Wisconsin!
The house and farm are located on a quiet country road, and are set back from the road. The farm and surrounding creek and woods are easily explored from the house.
Rural gravel roads with cows and neighbors well spaced!
  • Nice cozy house! Great ski trails to explore all throughout the property!!

  • This was our second time staying at Ann and Dave's place-- it's become our and our friend's go-to spot for cross-country ski weekends on the North Shore! Ann and Dave are incredibly thoughtful, sweet people, their cottage is as cozy as could be, and you're surrounded by the beauty of the North Shore with a number of great cross country ski spots not too far away.

    Jessie2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay. Our second time here. We use it as a base for skiing. The hosts are extremely friendly & helpful. Its a cozy little farmhouse & the surrounding countryside is peaceful & lovely.

    Elise2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing! Come here in the fall and stay a while. Great location between Ashland and Duluth making short day trips easily doable. Ann and Dave are the epitome of small town hospitality hostess and we couldn't have asked for better. The apple farm is beautiful and the fall colors were just making their appearance. The space is clean and easy to find via GPS, even in the dark. Ann had great tips for local thigs to see and do and even has a binder with more information. I can't say enough positive things here. We will definitely be back!

    Renie2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Sweet little farmhouse on the beautiful South Shore. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen for making our own meals, loved the book shelf options, and enjoyed hiking around the orchard as the sun set. Ann is a lovely, responsive, kind host. This is a great option of where to stay for anyone wanting to explore the South Shore.

    Stephanie2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Ann's place was a wonderful home away from home. We very much appreciate the family's hospitality and willingness to provide the accommodations that we needed while visiting our son. The apple orchard and wooded area was awesome. The bird feeder was a sweet addition as it attracted 5 beautiful Bluejays on our last morning there. What a delight to see the family history by looking at photos, books, and decorations in the home. Thank you so much Ann!

Eagle’s View is nestled on a 25 acre, 500 foot lake front property in the heart of Lake Superior's south shore. From the moment you start down the half mile drive through the woods you’ll begin to unwind. You'll enjoy complete privacy, stunning lake views, as well as the beauty and serenity of nature. The home features an open-plan lower level with a formal dining area, a fully-outfitted kitchen with breakfast bar, and a wood burning fireplace that is anchored by a comfortable sectional sofa. The first-floor private bedroom has a full firm bed. The lofted upper level has two bedrooms (one small bedroom with a full mattress, and larger bedroom with one queen bed and one full bed). The upstairs living room has another sectional and full bed, opening onto the upper deck with stunning lake vistas. The “bonus” room at Eagle’s View is delightful: the south shore version of a cabana: a free-standing three season screened in porch that allows you to be surrounded by nature. It holds a full-size futon, two side chairs, and an ottoman. It’s perfect for a couple seeking privacy from the rest of the group, a kid’s retreat, or an opportunity to enjoy a book or a board game during a rainy afternoon. The lower level’s wrap around deck has a grill, picnic table and hammock. Eagle’s View sits high above the shoreline. A steep set of stairs descends to the lake. We advise against their use. There are a number of places in Herbster and Port Wing which offer superb beach combing and swimming opportunities. There is neither cable nor internet, leaving no distraction from what a vacation on the south shore should be about: enjoying the beauty of the lake and surrounding area, company of friends and family, and restorative nature of this so special part of the country. The secluded cabin is not far from the small towns of Port Wing, Herbster and the quaint village of Cornucopia where you’ll find restaurants, pubs, marinas, grocery stores, kayak rentals, tours, and local art. Bayfield is about 40 minutes away, Duluth an hour plus. Eagle’s View is the ultimate private escape! Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions you have about the home/property. The manager is also more than happy to discuss discounts for solo travelers and longer stays.

  • Probably the best Airbnb experience I've ever had. Erin's place is beautiful and clean. She provided helpful tips on nearby hikes and other attractions, and was kind enough to provide a bottle of wine as a welcome gift (and a bag of dog treats for our four legged friend). Not the best place for small kids (as noted in the posting), but the perfect spot if you want to get away and disconnect for a while. Thanks for a great stay!

  • This is very nice bed and breakfast. The breakfast was presented in a lovely way and tasted delicious every time. The location is quiet and not too far from the sea caves in cornucopia. Finding places to eat was the only difficult part, if you dont like bar food things are limited and places close early. Overall I would come here again as it was a great stay, the hosts were informative and welcoming, and the grounds were beautiful.

  • Expect quiet, spacious, beautifully decorated areas in this B&B. Tom and his wife made the most amazing homemade breakfast for my family. She gave us ideas, suggestions on shopping, sight seeing, places to eat. Would most definitely recommend the family suite to families of 4. Beautiful home, backyard and comfy beds. Would 10/10 stay here again!

The 'kitchenette' was a special touch and we especially enjoyed the little extras treats. The house is perfectly located in Washburn with a breath-taking view. We look forward to visiting again in the future. Thank you for the wonderful weekend away! Phil and Heidi

  • This is a lovely place to return to each day. Lots of goodies in the pantry and pop in the frig and a fresh pot of coffee each morning from your hosts. Extremely clean and lovely Northwoods decor. Soft king bed and wonderful shower. My daughter and I just loved the place. It is a couple of miles drive, inland from 13, and you will find total peace and quiet out there. And darkness to view starry skies.

  • Pilgrim’s Rest was a wonderful escape; immaculately clean and peaceful. The location gave easy access to the many activities of this beautiful area. Kent and Mary Beth were outstanding hosts and we enjoyed visiting with them and hearing their stories. We appreciated the amenities like a binder of suggested activities, restaurants, and area brochures. They also have a cozy gas fireplace, snacks (including instant oatmeal), dishes, games, smart-TV with a Blu-ray player and lots of movies. Although it is in the lower level of the house, it doesn’t feel like you are in a basement as it has high ceilings, and large windows and a patio door that look out into the beautiful woods. We highly recommend staying here and plan on coming back.

  • There were so many thoughtful touches that the hosts, from the bathroom amenities to the food & beverages that were available. Kent helped us check-in, showing us around the BnB and explaining the various features and tips for the area. I'm very thankful that I found this BnB and would definitely recommend and return!

  • Kent and Mary Beth's place was perfect!! Very clean, comfortable and lots of extras that were not expected. A wonderful couple to visit with and get ideas for places to eat, visit and explore. They know the area well. They were respectful of our privacy and also available to answer any questions that we had. Our only regret is that we did not stay there the entire week! We are looking forward to staying with them again in the future.

  • "Pilgrims Rest" is a nature lovers paradise! The location is perfect for exploring everything the Chequamegon Bay Area has to offer. From breathtaking landscapes, that include waterfalls, hardwood forests, grassy beaches to the birds and animals that inhabit them, there is so much natural beauty to experience. Kent and Mary Beth's home is a perfect place to come back to after a day of exploration. It's own paradise in a nature setting, there are trails to explore and beautiful gardens attracting many species of birds, colorful butterflies and SILENCE from human-produced noises. (Something many of us don't get to experience very often) We prefer to stay in accommodations nicer than our own home. Pilgrims Rest checks all the five star boxes for Cleanliness, Comfort, Design, Amenities and Warmth. We look forward to our next stay and more exploration of your beautiful Naturescapes.

The Cornucopia Sweet Retreat is a unique open concept living space above Corny Coffee in Cornucopia, Wisconsin. We are just steps from Lake Superior and the Cornucopia beach shops. Lost Creek Adventures is across the street and offers guided kayak tours to the sea caves, and Ehlers grocery store has wonderful deli sandwiches and salads. We are located 20 minutes from Bayfield, Wisconsin and the ferry to Madeline Island. The Cornucopia Sweet Retreat is a no smoking / no pet space.
The Cornucopia Sweet Retreat has a private entrance and parking behind the Corny Coffee shop. There is a private deck with a gas grill for guests to use. The rental unit has stairs in the entry way that go up to the rental space. Although the space is an open concept, the living and sleeping areas are defined and partially separated with shelving and furniture lay out. Towels and linens are provided as well as a nicely equipped kitchenette with dishes, glassware, and microwave cookware. There is a nice size refrigerator, coffee maker and grinder, crock pot, microwave and blender. There is a smart TV and free WiFi. A balcony off of the bedroom has a lake view where brilliant sunsets can be viewed.
A perk of staying above a coffee shop is the availability of purchasing fresh locally roasted coffee and homemade baked goods and ice cream during your stay. As a guest you get a complimentary coffee, tea and scone or similar priced bake good each morning of your stay. You are a few minute walk to a shallow, sandy beach on Lake Superior. Gift shops, kayak tours, quaint grocery store with a deli, farm store, post office, fresh fish and more. We are also 20 minutes from Bayfield and the Madeline Island Ferry.
  • Lovely room with great details. We loved all the books, in particular the book by Rien Poortvliet called Gnomes. It was very cold outside (We were a bit out of season, most things in Cornucopia were closed for the season) but we left with a warm feeling.

  • Amazing place!

    Jacob2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Terri is an incredibly thoughtful decorator with a great eye. The place was pristine, furnished with a homey sea theme. We loved the little touches she left for us, including circling her favorite hiking spots in a brochure. Also, staying above a coffee shop was definitely a daily morning pleasure. Hope to be back someday!

    Tiffany2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly kept, very cozy. Movies and books and coffee and perfect use of every inch of space! The ONLY down side was the noise in the coffee shop in the morning if you’re a sleep in kind Vacationer. Otherwise, perfect!

    Shawn2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Like many of the other reviews, we also thought that the space was more spacious than we were expecting. There was a smart tv and a nice selection dvds (for grown ups and kids) for those times that we wanted to stay in and relax. A beautiful view of the lake from the balcony. Delicious treats when we arrived, and a breakfast credit. Each day that we were there, they offered 1 delicious savory option for breakfast and a variety of bakery items and coffee. CUTE coffee shop! We loved our stay there.

    Savanna2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Terri's place!! Truly a SWEET RETREAT!!! We absolutely loved all of their personal touches that made us feel so welcomed and loved! The place was extremely clean and simply adorable! They have thought of everything to make your stay as relaxing as possible! We even had delicious cookies waiting for us when we got there! We loved getting all the hints and tips on what to see and do and to top it off the morning coffee and scone were out of this world! We can't wait to go back! :-)

    Brooke2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Terri and her daughter went above and beyond making our stay feel cozy and comfortable. They even supplied a pack and play for our son and child gate making traveling with a little a little easier and safer. The space was so beautiful and had everything we needed including nice soaps and even some soaking salts for the bath. Coffee and treats from their amazing place downstairs we’re a special bonus we enjoyed every morning. Would highly recommend the sweet retreat for anyone looking for a genuine and warm experience on the south shore. We hope to come back again soon to explore more of this gorgeous area. Thank you!

  • This Cornucopia gem is not to be missed! As one visitor noted, the photos do not do it justice. It's an adorable space and attention is given to every detail. I came as a single person along with a married couple and it was perfect as a twin nook is situated at one end of the unit, and the larger bed, along with another twin is at the other end of the unit. It should be noted that the front bedroom is not completely closed off, if privacy is an issue. This would also be suitable for families. While coffee and a pastry from the cafe downstairs is included, there is also a coffeemaker in the suite, along with a small bag of beans. Cornucopia is a perfect base to explore the peninsula. It's small and quiet with a nice harbor, but not far from Bayfield and only 1.25 hrs from Duluth. I hope to go back!

Each room has a little balcony/patio with a lake view and there are Adirondack chairs around the back of the property where you can sit closer to the water and watch the sunset. Bruce and Sandy were warm and welcoming and had lots of great tips for exploring the area. Absolutely lovely place and people, I’d go back in a heartbeat!

Rooms are more than comfortable, the home-made breakfasts are expertly prepared, and Bruce and Sandra give great advice for seeing the local area. Highly recommended.

  • Bruce and Sandy were incredible. Their hospitality was warm and welcoming right from the start, which allowed my wife and I just continue relaxing. The grounds were immaculate and beautiful, and we passed many hours enjoying the scenery too. Breakfast was delicious every morning and made with great care. The thoughtfulness and comfort and care shown was incredible all the way around. We enjoyed our stay immensely, and we would not have had nearly such a memorable experience if we had not stayed here.

  • This was a fantastic place to stay. So cozy! Very clean and charming. Beth was an excellent host and we'll definitely stay again!

    Amber2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Beth and Pat’s place was magical! Our family of four - two kids under 7 years old - spent three nights with some spectacular fall weather. The space was just perfect for us and with great touches that helped us connect with each other over the days spent here. There’s so much nature to explore around, the coziest fireplace to warm up and play games by, and just great hosts right by you! The drive to Bayfield from here is only about 20 minutes of beautiful fall colors bordering the road. We were able to go into a cruise tour to the Apostle Islands that Beth worked at and she brought the kids to meet the captain. We thought that was so cool! On our last morning there, Beth baked us some yummy, homemade apple muffins. My kids got to help Pat pick apples and we all later pressed apples to make apple cider. It was pretty special! My 6 year old didn’t want to come back home but instead wanted to buy the Airbnb. We look forward to returning!

  • We love staying at Palma Lodge! It’s a lovely little place in a beautiful setting. Well appointed, clean and cozy, it was our second time staying at Beth and Pat’s place and it lived up to expectations again. The area is a little drive off the beaten path, but it’s very quiet and serene and a short drive into town. Be aware that the WiFi isn’t the fastest or most reliable out there though! Overall it was an awesome weekend and we look forward to returning.

    Erin2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Palma Lodge is THE place to stay if you are going to the Bayfield area! The surroundings are so quaint, the apartment is sparkling clean, the hospitality is second to none, and it’s a great value! We will definitely book Palma Lodge again!

  • Sandra is very warm and welcoming. This home is very large and has a great mixture of modern and antique items, local artisan items and modern amenities...and Lake Superior out your front door! The waves are so soothing and the sitting area on the porch inviting. This was just what our family needed. Towns are close by with great food and shopping.

    Kathy2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • My husband, Mom and I had such a relaxing and ideal stay at this lovely and cozy home. The rainy weather allowed us to enjoy it even more as well as spend time on the beautiful beach fishing, cooking on the fire pit and just watching the waves. Sandy made sure we were informed on all aspects of our stay and provided us with a nice bottle of wine and ground coffee for simplifying our coffee making experience. Felt very at home here and would definitely visit again.

  • Sandy is a most gracious host and the house has awesome view of sunsets over Lake Superior. The house had plenty of room for the six of us in our family. We enjoyed the front porch as a gathering place. Our family had a wonderful time exploring the beauty of northern Wisconsin.

    Shawn2018-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We loved being able to watch the sunset from the balcony and just walk across the street to the beach.

  • I wish to let Airbnb, and everyone of Sandy's exceptional hospitality. Our party was out working on a friends property in the woods in November, which felt like January weather. I called her because a member of our party fell ill and in my haste to get back to the house, I had forgotten the keys to the house. I called Sandy to rescue us. Within minutes she was there. I could not thank her enough for her help, We loved her house, and all the contents, kitchen, the view was magnificent. I love Herbster and their beach. Thank you again, Sandy, see you next year.

Garden House provides a quiet adventure near Lake Superior's South Shore featuring fine arts, collectable books, and the art of conversation. It is set on five areas of gardens and forests in the fishing village of Port Wing, Wisconsin.
The Red Room could be described as a large Master Bedroom with private bath. It has two wingback chairs for relaxing by twin casement windows overlooking our front gardens. The windows face north and the room has a wall mount air conditioning unit; controlled by the room thermostats. There are two generous night stands with lamps. The Red Room is located up seven steps from the entry and the dining room, where breakfast is served.

  • Tom and Karleen were so kind to us since the moment we arrived. They suggested what to visit while we stayed there and it really help if you are not sure of where to go. Breakfast every morning was amazing, something really unexpected, I have not had this experience anywhere where I have stayed. The house was very nice and clean, my favorite part was probably the backyard since it was so quiet and peaceful. Port Wing is a very small town, there is not much to do but to enjoy nature and it helps that is very centrally located to visit Bayfield and towns around.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Valley Vista. We lucked out and were there at peak fall colors, and made great use of the forest and dirt roads. We loved the fire pit, and the accommodations were very comfortable and attractive. We particularly appreciated the in floor heating in the lower level, the appealing woodsy furnishings, the stunning forest views from the living room, and quick access to nearby towns, Washburn, Ashland and Bayfield. The accommodations comfortably suited the eight of us, two of which were kids. We would definitely come back.

    Lisa2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing scenic cabin (Oct 2019) with space for a big group. We appreciated the privacy and beauty - with the ease of making our way into town. 6 adults and 2 school age kids. The space and beauty were amazing but the cabin really came through with the small things: lots of towels, night lights, fully stocked kitchen utensils, condiments, great water pressure, etc.... We wished the dinner table sat a few more, but we did just fine with the available stool seating at the island. Will look for this cabin again when heading up to apostle island area

    David2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Valley Vista is an awesome get away to the North Woods! Our visit was a rainy one, but that encouraged us to enjoy our getaway a little different than originally planned. Because we spent a lot of our time indoors, I can assure you, you will find all the comforts of home and then some. This was my mom's first time coming this far north, and Valley Vista was the perfect representation of the beauty the area has to offer. We look forward to visiting again. Also, this is a great place for your furry family members.

    Andrea2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is lovely. We spent so much time sitting on the porch, we didn’t even get to explore inside much. However, the inside is clean and cozy and has plenty of space for 6 people to gather or do their own things. We would definitely recommend a stay here. Big Top is a quick drive, and Bayfield and Washburn are easily accessed. Thank you!

Cozy, comfortable, clean 3 bedroom home that has been in the family since 1915 located in the heart of the quaint village of Cornucopia. Great light and fresh air streams in from many windows throughout the house! Expansive lovely yard for outdoor recreation such as croquet, badminton, bocce ball and dining. Walking distance to grocery store, gas station with convenience store, post office, restaurant, outdoor adventure, tennis courts, churches, marina and beaches. All are welcome!
This quaint house has been in the same family for over 100 years. Norwegian and Czechoslavakian ancestors settled in Cornucopia in 1911! Great history of family living in rural, fishing village. Check out the Green Shed Museum and you can view photos of the family who were some of the key community members during the early 1900's! Kitchen cabinets made by hand by grandfather, original owner. Seven children were raised in this house which was even smaller before back room and eating area in the front room were added! Lots of love in this space over the years!
Quiet residential area of Town of Bell, Cornucopia is unincorporated. Our neighbors home used to be the old creamery in town. The Town Hall you can view from the home across Highway C used to be the local school where my great grandmother and grandmother cooked the food for the school. Now it is a gathering spot for many different local events and the library is open 24 hours a day. Deer feel like your neighbors as they frequent the area.

  • Bruce and Sandra went above and beyond! Very friendly and professional and a great resource of information on the area as well. The room was fantastic and the bed was very comfortable. We slept like babies! We highly recommend their BnB to anyone traveling to the area.

  • What an amazing place! We saw the most beautiful sunset. Easy drive to Sea caves, Bayfield, hiking, etc. The hosts, Bruce and Sandy, are the nicest people we have ever met. Great food, good advice, and fun to share a moment of our lives with. You can’t go wrong at Siskiwit!

  • If your thinking of visiting the area of cornucopia or bayfield this is the place to stay. Beautiful place, you cannot beat the view and serenity of it. The rooms were perfect, easy to come and go, and breakfast is a must! It was soooo delicious and made the stay. Bruce and Sandy are phenomenal hosts.

  • This place easily exceeded our expectations. The lodge and rooms were fantastic. They had a nice up north rustic feel to them, but very open and spacious. The views of Lake Superior, the sunsets, and wilderness around you on these immaculately kept grounds is breath-taking. We even saw deer twice on the property. The breakfasts were so good and the presentation done so well that I had to take pictures of them to show friends, who I will be recommending to stay there as well. Bruce and Sandy are terrific hosts, making you feel welcome and warm from the time you set foot int their place to the time you hug them good bye. The proximity to Apostle Island National Lake Shore was very handy (Meyers Beach) and the hike there is highly recommended before you do the sea cave kayaking tour. Bayfield was an easy, nice, northern scenery drive of 20 minutes (unless you have to slow down to allow wild life to cross the road!). You can't go wrong with this wonderful B&B!

  • With sketchy Sprint cell service, after coming into Cornucopia we stopped at Good Earth Outfitters and met Captain Mike who was very helpful pointing us to Siskiwit Bay Lodge. Its quite easy to find and once off Highway 13 there are signs pointing the way. Bruce and Sandy are amazing hosts with a beautiful home and joyfully share their love for the woods and Lake Superior, as well as sharing their knowledge of the area: history, food options, and activities information. The breakfasts were plentiful, creative, beautiful, and delicious. They try and local source as much of their ingredients as possible - local farm eggs, chives from their garden, and I forget the list of things they get locally. We loved it! All four rooms face the lake so you have an incredible view that includes stunning sunsets, any approaching storms, and a gorgeous view of the lake. Another couple, my husband, and I enjoyed a campfire in the back yard, one evening, complete with firefly's, after watching fireworks across the bay. They have several bird feeders on the expansive deck, including a hummingbird feeder. My husband and I were treated to a beautiful evening feeding display from the local hummers - mere feet away! There is a well stocked game cabinet and I even talked my husband in to a couple rounds of Sequence (the board game). Great selection of movies or we simply enjoyed the quiet. The flower beds in front are beautiful and we were lucky enough to arrive during the annual Lupine bloom. The entire space is meticulously maintained and it felt as if we were simply visiting friends. We highly recommend kayaking the sea caves! What a beautiful way to get on the water and see Ma Nature at her finest!
