Really nice little apartment, everything you need for a comfortable stay, and at great value too! Would highly recommend. Located only a short walk to a tram stop, and a bit longer (but still close) to Hakodate station. Loads of great bars and restaurants nearby. (Highly recommend Hot Box Burger Place close by!!)

Hakodate jr can be reached within 15 minutes on foot. Go to the red brick warehouse and Hakodate mountain and walk for about 15 minutes. There is a 24-hour convenience store nearby. Hakodate is very cold in winter. It takes a while to turn on the air conditioners and electric heaters to warm up. One thing that is not good is that the room is poorly soundproofed, and people in the next room can hear the speech (maybe they talk too loud)

House: It looks better than the pictures. The two people live in a relatively spacious place with complete living facilities. The most important thing is that the location is very good. Nice room, but it was a bit cold

The landlord responded quickly and was very nice; Self check-in; the room is well-equipped, warm and comfortable. It is a 1.5 meter bed for two people. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Hakodate JP Station, but it is close to the attractions. Overall is good!

The location is so good. It is Hachimanzaka when you go out. Turn right when you go out is the lucky clown burger. It is also a few minutes away from the Jinsen Red Brick Warehouse Group. The rooms are amazing, the spacious and clean facilities are complete, there are large bathtubs, hotel-style homestays, check-in is also very convenient.

Good location

This hotel blew me away. Everything is very modern, sparkling clean and there are many things you can do there besides just sleep. There's a restaurant/cafe inside the hotel, a play room where you can chat, and seats/cushions to just relax. My dormitory was shared but it was clean, very well presented and generally in outstanding condition. The bathroom/showers were also surprisingly clean (I had bad experiences with these in different hotels before) and there were plenty of spare towels/toothbrushes etc for your use. The hotel reception staff were also very helpful and were quick to respond on AirBnB and were very pleasant to talk to face-to-face. If I go to Hakodate again, I would definitely use this hotel again. I highly recommend anyone considering this place to book it! :)

The location of this accommodation is perfect and convenient almost all sightseeing places can be find quite next to it. This place is totally clean, I have to say it was a bit to much for me because I get all day new piyama toothbrush and towel, but it's no minus. The place especially the kitchen is well designed and the common space is very welcoming with a hammock.

The landlord is very good at English. It is the best Japanese I have ever encountered in English! And the people are super nice. Not only the free shuttle, but also very sweetly proposed that our two girls would be cold after soaking in the daylight hot spring at night, and offered to pick us up. The room was clean and the tatami bed was much more comfortable than the hotel I stayed in other cities. The toilet is separate from the shower room, and it is very clean and tidy. Masahiro keeps an incredibly tidy household. The room itself is large and well furnished. There is a kerosene heater and a kotatsu which was very welcome for mid-winter. The bedding was comfortable. The amenities provided for a relaxing stay. If I were to stay in Hakodate again, I would stay here.

Lovely traditional Japanese tatami room with almost the best location I can imagine. It could be a little bit cold, especially in the restroom.But it’s totally fine for me. Masahiro is a pretty good host as well. I only wish that the quilt covers could be changed. They look a little old or even unclean

The price is very high, the facilities are perfect, the only flaw is that there is a relatively steep road in front of the jr station, and if there is a lot of luggage or heavy passengers, it will be hard to meet the ice on the ground.

The tatami accommodation experience was great and the landlord was very kind and intimate. The first floor of the homestay is a cafe with a good view, next to the famous Hachimanzaka.

Mr. Masahiro has been a wonderful host! His house is clean, warm and traditionally-designed, all the other guests are quiet and friendly as well. There has been no problem at all with communication--his English is very good. My mom and I arrived on New Year's Eve, planning to visit the Hakodate ropeway; but the service closed down due to heavy snow and we didn't know. Thanks to Mr. Masahiro who informed us! He also called us a taxi and kindly helped with the luggage at 5 a.m in the morning. We'd love to stay with his family if we have the chance to visit Hokkaido again!

Very Japanese style homestay. The location is very close to the tram stop and the traffic is very convenient. There should be all the equipment in the room, and the operating instructions are clear. Nomad replied every message in a super fast manner(even some of my silly questions lol), he is such a welcoming and helpful host!! Remember to check messages frequently if you choose this house. The only problem is they said they will send me the pin the day before I move in but it was on the checkin day I sent a message to ask that they remembered to give me. It was a bit rush 😳😳😳 The house itself is really beautiful, traditional and lies in a quiet neighborhood. If you choose it, get a one day tram pass (600yen) is probably the best way to travel around the city as it is a bit far from main tourist attractions. There were a couple of times the electricity suddenly went off, because the electricity system in the house is pretty old and you cannot use all the machines at the same time 😢 A bit inconvenient but acceptable. In general, Nomad is super friendly and warm-hearted, I like the decoration of the house so much that if I travel to Hakodate again, I will probably choose it as well! I can ignore all the inconvenience because it is so pretty!!! Thank you Nomad for all the information and this extremely lovely place!

Very Japanese style house, a wonderful experience of Japanese family life! The equipment and supplies in the house are all available. The host has already turned on the heating equipment when we arrived, which makes us feel very warm! The bathtub is large enough for two to soak up the soup together. The landlord contacted us one day in advance to pick us up. We landed at 12:30 and thought we would be able to connect with the landlord not long after we got off the plane. As a result, we boarded the jr until 3pm and arrived at Hakodate Station at 6:30 The landlord was waiting for us at the entrance of Hakodate Station. I drove to the host's home in about a quarter of an hour. The house was much larger than we thought, and it was very clean. I also had free bread and instant noodles. I stayed with my boyfriend for three days and bake bread every day. There is also a washing machine and a large stove. After washing the clothes, bake them in front of the stove. The water vapor on the clothes is visible to the naked eye.

Yunogawa is also the best place to wash hot springs in Hakodate. You can try walking on the Nikkei Onsen. First position. From JR Otaru to Hakodate Station, you will have to cross the street and take tram 5. Google maps are not very accurate. Let me walk back and forth for a long time to find it. 20 minutes by tram from Hakodate Station. 30 minutes from the bay area. It takes 25 minutes to walk to Goryokaku. There is a hot spring, a Corp (where you can buy clothes and books), a convenience store, and a delicious seafood izakaya right next to it. On the other hand, it is easy to find because it faces the streetcar street, but you can hear the passing sound when you sleep in bed during the day. The reception provided earplugs as a countermeasure. As you can see from other reviews, the facilities are large and beautiful. Entrance is locked at midnight, so don't forget your passcode.

Mr. Noru welcomed us with great enthusiasm. We transported us to and from Hakodate Station for free, and also helped with our luggage. Hard work! Locale is good. As I drive, I am able to find the place easily. Attractions such as the seafood market is within walking distance. Even the wharf area, just need to walk and you will get there in no time. We did some cooking and the place has the necessary utensils so instead of keep eating out, you can also do some simple cooking. There's also convenient shop, supermaket and coin laundry service nearby. Love the place.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The host Noru was kind and friendly and responded quickly. I left my luggage on the day of checkout and sent it to the station. It was a wonderful room that I wanted to stay in Noru's room again.

The house feels very peaceful, with three small rooms for 6 people. The location is also very good, just a few steps away is the seaside (should be very good in summer), it is close to the Hakodate mountain cable car, and it can be reached within 5 minutes by car. However, the kitchen is small and the tools are not complete, which is not suitable for friends who want to cook. But Hokkaido cuisine is too much, and it does not necessarily need to be cooked. Overall, it was a good stay.

The rooms are clean and well-equipped, and the surrounding environment is quiet. Although there is a distance from the urban area, it is not far from Shidianguditou Station and the traffic is convenient. It takes only three minutes to walk to Guditou Hot Spring, and you can go to the hot spring every day.

I really liked the place, super clean and perfectly located, the big capsule-like bunk beds give you enough privacy, despite the fact of sleeping in a shared space. Be aware though, that the staff isn’t there all the time, it’s not possible to leave your luggage before the check in time at 4 pm. I would definitely stay again and can recommend it!

Very clean, the facilities are very good, and the multi-person rooms are very quiet. The traffic instructions are not very clear. In fact, it is possible to take the three-stop bus to JR, and it takes more than 20 minutes to walk. The recovery speed is slower.

Lovely cosy hostel! Just over a year old so excellent facilities, spacious pods, good heating (even a wood-burning fire in the common room!), free tea and coffee, breakfast for 700 yen, and above all really kind staff who gave lots of advice and called a taxi for me when I needed one. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend to others :)

A good environment is good, it’s hard to climb in winter.

Noru’s apartment was a great space with load of room even by UK standards. Warm rooms and great for walking into Hakodate if it’s not to snowy. Lots of handy guides and a perfect place only a few stops away from the beautiful lake Onuma where there are loads of eagles and bird life to experience.

Noru-san is a hospitable host. He took us to and from the train station with our luggage. His place is also great as it has a lot of space and a traditional tatami mat room. Such a great experience.

The visit came on a snowy day in the New Year, and the road less than two kilometers away from the station was not easy to walk. Fortunately, the landlord drove the shuttle to help! The room is on the second floor. The room is not big but it has all the internal organs. It is suitable for a few more days. Had a very good memory in Hakodate for two days, thank you!

The location is not the closest tp Hakodate JR station, but i must say that it's a comfortable place to stay. Noru is an amazing host who not only communicated quickly when we jad questions, but went out of his way to offer us lifts to and from the station on our check in and check outs. Recommend to sta here if you would prefer a comfy stay.

I stayed with my friends for 2 days and 3 days. Simple and clean room, close to Goryokaku Park and tram stop. Also perfect for cleaning common spaces. Communication with the host and check-in / check-out were smooth. If you ever go to Hakodate, I would like to stay overnight.

Asami's place has an excellent location, being within walking distance from the tram and Goryokaku park. We had a very spacious and clean room, several bathrooms and a kitchen to our discretion. Furthermore, we needed a taxi in the early morning and Yuji-san kindly arranged the booking. It's one of the best places I've stayed at in Japan.

The room is so clean and the rooms are very quiet, it is easily to fall asleep, thanks to Asami is a nice and hospitable host. san and her parents. The host is a very good person. It is very quiet because it is in a residential area. Recommended for those who want to relax.

AMAZING place. Really fast communication. I was going into Hakodate without any prior knowledge of what the location had to offer. However, I later found out there are quite a bit of places to go. Asami's place is a fantastic location for it! The room I stayed in was fantastic to sprawl out in, especially after staying in a hostel. I would definitely go back!

This house is really great! A great mountain view along the way. Host is really nice and kind. Also giving really great local tips (even offer to pick us up).

The very enthusiastic landlord, the weather was very cold on the day of Hakodate, and specially picked us up at the station, and introduced the attractions of Hakodate to us along the way. The house is halfway up the mountain and you can see the sea view when you go out. The view is good, but you need to climb for about 10 minutes. The room is large, clean and comfortable. It is very convenient to have a supermarket and tram station in about 10 minutes on foot.

Host is fast in responses. Place is good for family who cook as well. Carpark is only suitable for small to medium car. Stay in this Airbnb only if you drive. The slope is steep if you walk.

As we only stayed for one night in Hakodate, I was impressed at how close it was to the station. It had multiple entrances to the living and dining room, space heaters for the bedroom areas, and lots of space to lounge around. One flight of stairs to reach the abode was not difficult. The place was not the most up-to-date but it reminded me of my cozy and humble grandmother's house when I grew up.

The location is very good. It is right next to JR Hakodate station and all the big car rental companies. There is a maxvalu supermarket where you can buy food and bring it back to cook. The landlord is very good. It also helps us to carry a lot of luggage. We can live for many people 2-8 people

Noru was an amazing host. He drove us to and from the station and personally greeted us. He also gave us some great restuarant recommendations. The place was a bit bigger than we expected. The gas heater was really warm and heated the place up in no time. The bed was very comfortable (even the futon) and the bed sheets were incredibly soft and clean. There was plenty to eat around the area and the sushi was amazingly fresh. I would recommend trying as many restuarants as you can because you will regret not being able to try everything. Overall this was an amazing place to stay at and we will definately come back again if we ever return Hakodate.

This place was amazing! I was not expecting much since it is not in the main area of a pretty small town in Hakodate, but this was one of the best AirBnB's I've stayed at. It is a very large place and even in the middle of winter, managed to stay pretty warm. Every amenity you could imagine is available, including an extra space heater for the extra chilly days. Place was extremely clean and I could tell that the host put a lot of thought into furnishing the place. Only negative is that it is a little far from the main Hakodate Station area, but it is only a small walk that I did not mind.
