Places to stay in Gorey
Situated on a quiet country lane about 1 mile outside the town of Gorey in Co. Wexford, Highlands Cottage is a lovely little house set in mature gardens, with flowering bushes, trees, plants and lots of peace and quiet. There is no traffic noise, just the sounds of nature. In good weather, the garden is a suntrap, and extremely private. Everyone is welcome, but please note that there is no smoking on the premises.
The bedrooms are bright and cheerful, and a good nights sleep is almost guaranteed, as long as you can deal with the complete absence of noise. You are likely to be woken in the morning by birdsong. The suite consists of two small double bedded rooms and a bathroom with shower. All three rooms are on their own corridor. Once you head down there and close the door, you are in your own quiet, private space. Our suite is ideal for 2 couples to stay, as it is nice and private, and each couple has their own bedroom. When it's time for breakfast, make your way to the kitchen. There you will find juice, cereal, fruit and yogurt. You can also help yourself to tea & coffee, various breads, toast and preserves.
The house is set in a very quiet road about 1 mile outside of Gorey town. It would take about 5 minutes to drive into the center.

  • Had a wonderful stay on a place with one of the kindest persons i have ever stayed with!. Location is beautiful, view is great and the room was very comfortable as well. It is difficult to walk from/to Gorey at night, so a taxi is most likely nescessary but with that comes complete silence and no noises from the city which in my oppinion is definately worth it.

  • Lorraines has a lovely cozy homely feel to her home. As it's out in the country and yet not far from Gorey , you are ensured a quiet restful sleep which I had. It was lovely to listen to the birds song from the garden in the morning. Lorraine has made her home very welcome and her spirit of hospitality is strong. Lorraine has an excellent and inquiring intellect. I thoroughly enjoyed and was engaged in a very interesting conversation with Lorraine.

Mine was a short stay, but the room, facilities and hospitality were exactly what I had hoped for when staying at an Airbnb, and it encourages me to use Airbnb in the future again. Thanks again to Paul & Mary for sharing your house. Highly recommended from me.

  • Our stay in the house of Yvonne and Michael was great! The room and the house are totally beautiful and we felt very welcome and comfortable. There are a lot of little things that show you how welcome you are! Instead of the offered coffee at the arrival we got a beer and had a very nice evening on the terrace with Michael. Hurrah for the Irish hospitality in this house :))

  • Lena went above and beyond looking after us. Between local tips and driving us to Marlfield House for a wedding Lena was an exceptional host from start to finish. The room was very clean, cozy and made for a perfect place to get a nights sleep. You know you’ve had a great host when you leave with a hug! Can’t recommend enough!

  • Great hospitality and location was perfect for nearby wedding in Marlfield House

    Niamh2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lena is an amazing host, the location is nice, right by nature so everything around the place is peaceful. Lena went an extra mile to leave us with a local taxi number, free packs of crisps, fruit and water! Which is necessary after being on a night out! The room is lovely and cosy, the aesthetics were gorgeous too. Lena was very helpful and even allowed us to check out one hour later which was handy as it was Sunday and we had been out on a wedding the day before. 10/10

    Isabel2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful host Lena is. She could not do enough for her guests. Her house is in a great location and the hospitality we received was amazing. She left little treats in the room for our return. Check in and check out was so simple as we were greeted by the host on both occasions. I most definitely will use this location again and would highly recommend. Thanks Lena for your kindness.

Our three bed bungalow is spacious and airy. There are two double bedrooms and a single bedroom with twin beds available. You can enjoy use of a huge garden to accommodate bbq's and garden meals. It is ideal if you're attending a wedding at Seafield or Marfield House.
We are very close to the beach and the famous Wicklow mountains so our accommodation is ideal for those seeking to experience rural Ireland. We're also only an hour's drive to Dublin so you have the potential to stroll the streets of Dublin and retire to a cosy and comfy home. We are dog friendly and have space for cars.
It's near the beach. It's quiet and very safe.
  • Taras place is spacious and in a great location. Check in was so easy. Dorothy, Taras housekeeper, is a pure gem! Great stay!

    Jessy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • the location is excellent for access to Courtown and to the broader surrounding area. The neighbourhood is quiet and very relaxing with lots of green space about. The house itself is bright, spacious, clean and warm (it was winter). Tara communicated well and speedily and Dorothy was most helpful. We hope to stay there again for sure. Recommended.

    Colm2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely clean and warm homely 3 bedroom house with everything you would expect and need. Very well located very close to a nice little town a good supermarket a chemist just around the corner and a decent pub in the village within walking distance. Also very close to Gorey which is a great shopping town and Courtown with lovely walks and beaches. The seal sanctuary in Courtown is a great visit especially for the kids and every now and then they release them into the sea which is a great spectacle. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a nice quite location close to everything you need for a nice short or long break.

    David2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tara’s house was really lovely. It was ready earlier than expected so was able to go in a few hours ahead of plan. Dorothy is lovely. She came around to put the heating on - the clock change had knocked off the timers - and also lit the fire for me! Dorothy also took some firelighters and kitchen towels out of her shopping for us! The sofa is insanely comfortable - can’t imagine how many people have sat down for ‘a few minutes’ and drifted off to sleep in front of the roaring fire! The kitchen has all you’ll need - including a separate freezer in the utility room. Nice big driveway, and Tara’s directions are perfect. Quiet cul-de-sac location. Location is great for Gorey, about a ten minute drive away - where there’s a large Tesco, an Aldi, Lidl, SuperValu and Dunnes Stores. The house is around 1km away from Courtown Harbour, and it’s a nice 15 minute walk down there. Just before you get to Gorey you’ll reach the M11 which takes you up to Dublin in about 90 minutes. They’ve recently completed the rest of the bypass that takes you down to Oilgate, between Enniscorthy and Wexford. Would definitely recommend visiting Wexford Town and the surrounding area (Kilmore Quay is a must for the fish and chips alone!) Overall, Tara’s house is perfectly located and a really lovely, comfortable home from home. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again - maybe a summer trip this time!

  • The place is a 1 bedroom house in a garden, in a cul de sac. It was very clean, and Sharon thoughtfully stocked the refrigerator with enough produce for a decent breakfast. As this was our first AirBnb we were not sure what to expect, and were very pleasantly surprised. As we were too late to shop for shampoo, we asked and received one (body wash was there already). Thank you, Sharon!

    Ofer2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was a great host. She was easy to contact and everything was how we expected it to be. We were very comfortable at the accommodation after a long day at a wedding. Sharon left us a food hamper basket which was very much appreciated as we hadn’t brought any food with us. Very easy to find the place and very cosy and clean! Gorgeous set up. The accommodation surpassed expectation in terms of comfort and style. Would highly recommend this for anyone visiting the area!

    Kelly2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed with my sister while visiting family for a long weekend. The venue was superb and had everything you could need. Sharon was a great host and there was a fabulous welcome pack (far more than a welcome pack really) and included a bottle of Prosecco! The place was very clean and I have no compunction in recommending this home. It’s very well located, just a few minutes walk in to Gorey. I will definitely be back.

Just a short way from the beach in one direction and a short car ride into Gorey with all it's amenities. We have been coming to Gorey area regularly for years and this is the only accommodation that we have stayed in more than once. We hope to be able to rebook when we next visit

  • We were attending a wedding at the Seafield Hotel so didn't spend much time in the house itself but it was a perfect location, just a 5 minute drive from the hotel. The house was big and lovely with loads of dvds and games if you were looking for somewhere relaxing to stay for a few days. Absolutely perfect spot to stay in if you're going to a wedding at the Seafield. Incredibly easy to check in and out.

  • The house is everything you need for a holiday. The garden is safe for children with swings, balls & skittles. The house is large with 3 ample bedrooms. There was tea, coffee available on arrival & everything you could need in a kitchen. There’s a washing mashing, dryer & dishwasher. All towels/linen provided. We had a very enjoyable week there & I recommend it to anyone.

Located in a private, gated community in Courtown Forest my 4 bed holiday home (Sleeps 8) is beautifully presented and is convenient for all the local amenities. Leisure centre, Adventure centre and Seal sanctuary less than 2 minute walk (with swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi .... climbing wall, zip-line, laser tag, etc). Beach, harbour, Crazy golf, playground, amusements, Pirates Cove, Forest and River walks, fishing, shops, restaurants all only minutes walk away...... so much to do for every age.
This is a specious 4 bed house . Beautifully decorated with the usual mod cons... microwave... dishwasher... washing machine etc.
Forest Park is a 4 star private gated holiday park. It is a quiet getaway from the hustle and bustle of busy Courtown yet it's only minutes walk to all the attractions. Please note that Forest Park is a holiday park aimed for families. I do not let to groups for hens or stags or groyps of young people under 25yrs.

House clean throughout, heating, bath, working DVD set, a fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, it is all there. It is also closed gated area, so quite safe. If you want some serious hiking, then search Google maps for Sliabh Bhuí (Slieveboy) Mountain, it is only 20 mins by car. Multiple approaches to it, we took the longest 1.5h walk each way, 7km each way, starting point here: https://goo.gl/maps/2jsxTGJg8Zy Thank you Eileen, we had a great time.

  • The Chalet is really well equipped, everything you could need is provided in the kitchen. We stayed for a week and used it as our base for our holiday. It was very clean and close to everything. I would recommend a stay here and Marie was a top host.

  • Clean accommodation. Well suited for trips in the southeast of Ireland. Marie has always responded to emails quickly. She lives right next to the chalet and is available for any questions. Checking in and out with the key box is uncomplicated and practical. We can recommend the house for five people. For six, it is then in the dining and living area rather narrow. Wi-Fi had only a weak signal.

  • If you happen to be in this part of Ireland end your search for accommodation right here. This is the bnb you’re looking for. Kay is simply the most accommodating host you will ever find. Her beautiful house is very spacious and every room is sparkling clean. The house is set in beautiful grounds and the breakfast is sumptuous. Little touches like sandwiches, biscuits and tea and coffee were all laid out for our arrival. We arrived quite late due to meeting up with other family members in Gorey and still Kay waited for up for us. A little about the lady herself. I’ve never met a more friendlier, accommodating host, we arrived as guests and left feeling like we were saying goodbye to an old friend. A beautiful place to stay that really feels like a home coming. I can only say thank you Kay for allowing us the privilege of sharing your home with us. Also if you like dogs, she has a super soft dog that loves people as much as she does! 5 stars!

  • Kathleen’s home is spectacular. Myself and a group of friends were stayed with Kathleen. We were catching up for a night in Marfield House and Kathleen offered to drop us down so we had our cars in the morning. Kathleen’s home is amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation. We have the best of hospitality with tea, beautiful home cooked ham sandwiches and snacks for us on arrival and a gorgeous breakfast the following morning before we headed off. We will absolutely be back.

  • My family and I stayed at Johns place over Christmas & it was perfect for what we needed. We had lots of space, simple directions on access / using the heating etc. John was in hand with any queries and was very helpful when I left my phone at the property - highly recommended!

  • The property is in a quiet location, close to the ocean, perfect for relaxing. House is large and airy.

    Yvonne2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, very attentive host, and all the little extras... towels, shower gel, shampoo etc that you tend to forget, all provided.

    Niall2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous week in John’s house. House spacious and well equipped (bigger than our own house!). Brilliant location, lovely beach, a very short stroll away. The on-site playground was very popular with our three year old. It’s very convenient to all local amenities. We had a perfect family holiday with our toddler and would love to come back. John was a pleasure to deal with.

  • This is a great place for a family getaway. Everything you could possibly need for a home away from home feel. The house was lovely, the bearby beach was lovely. All in all we had a great break at John's place.

    Olivia2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location for families. This is a gated estate with a playground and tennis courts and a walkway down to the beach. Very safe for children. Local pub is 10 mins walk up the road and serves food and has cinema area for kids. We will be back.

    Joanne2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you would want in a lovely house. Spotlessly clean, comfy beds

    Betty2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Johns place for 4 nights and had a great time. The house was spotless and had plenty of room for a family of 5. John had thoughtfully left basic provisions for us which was great. The house was a 5 minute walk from a lovely beach and a 5 minute drive to a number of towns and villages which had loads to do for families. We would have loved to have spent longer there and hopefully next time we will be able to.

  • We were looking to get away from all the hustle and bustle of Christmas and needed a cosy retreat. This house was perfect. Very warm and cosy with wood-burning stoves. Fabulous views of the countryside and sea. Very close to amenities. Highly recommend this as a getaway.

    Ann2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely, spacious and relaxing home. The views are spectacular. The house warms up well with the stove (be careful, it gets hot...) The amenities for cooking were outstanding and all you need. It is located about 6 KM from Gorey, and up a few windy lanes. Glad that the EIR-code was so accurate. All in all, a really superb place to unwind and relax, Thanks for having us stay Sinead & Christian.

    Brendan2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Family came in for a quick visit to celebrate my dad’s 90th birthday. This was an awesome location with fantastic views. Owners (Sinead and Christian) were a pleasure. Very quick to respond to any questions we had, checked in periodically during our stay to make sure things were going well. House was very well equipped for cooking, 2 great fire stoves, fast WiFi and a sound and music collection that fit our taste😎 Highly recommend this location.

    Malachy2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • The most stylish place you will ever stay in. 70s chic with great big spaces for socialising, whether that was talking over dinner, sitting and chilling with a cup of tea after a hike or a glass of wine after hours, or having a little boogie with your nearest and dearest in the living room. Everything was clean, more towels than you would ever need, plus bits and bobs like shampoo, lotions in the bathrooms and spices and cooking oils and lovely teas and coffees (even a few beers and soft drinks!). Spots where there aren't rugs can be a bit cold on bare feet so consider packing slippers, but overall really cosy - especially when you get the wood fire going. On a good spot for a hike up Tara Hill if you want a view that is even better than the amazing view you get from the property itself. About 10 minutes drive to the coast, or to the nearest town. We were on this trip for a friends birthday and some much needed quality time with us girls and it was just what everyone needed. Would definitely come back.

  • This is the second time we have stayed at Declan's, and it really has became our home away from home. Everything about it is just tip top, and more than probably is the prime AirBnB in north Wexford. Highly recommended!!!!

  • Beautiful house! So close to Courtown and Gorey. Lots of space and rooms so perfect for a big group. Quiet and peaceful surroundings and very helpful hosts. We really enjoyed our stay!

  • We stayed at Declan's house for a weekend with family and friends recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is located in a beautiful and countryside and a short drive away from Gorey and Courtstown. The facilities are great and ideally suited to catering for large groups. Declan and his wife were very helpful throughout and were generous with their time to help us plan our trip and meet us to hand over the keys. Highly recommended

    Alan2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Can't praise this house & the host's enough! Declan and Ann were both there to meet us, the communication was brilliant, the walk through of the house was thorough and the amenities within the home were above our expectation. We lucked out on the weather so we sat on the glorious huge deck most of the week. We were a 7 min walk to the beach where we could walk right up to Ballymoney, it was deserted most of the time so it felt like our own private beach. I am originally from Gorey and the commute to and from the town was grand but with the space we had for the time we were there everyone enjoyed coming out to us and relaxing in the space. I will definitely stay here again.

    Michelle2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Declan’s house was lovely! It was open and airy with a beautiful back porch, yard, and a small forest path. Declan met us at check in and gave us a walk through plus some great recommendations and additions to our plan (very knowledgeable about castles). I was a little late arriving due to rental car slow downs and Declan waited without complaint. It’s also very close to gorgeous beaches. The book cafe and cozy cottage in downtown gorey were great for breakfast and we really liked French’s pub for music.

    Anna2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was fantastic. The house is huge, although some rooms were locked as we were less guests than what the house can accommodate. Beds and bedrooms really clean and comfortable. Plenty of hot water and good pressure in the showers. Every utensil you'd need in the kitchen, and some basic supplies like tea, sugar, and condiments. Two baskets full of firewood and a nice stove! Well stocked with books, games, magazines. Amazing decking area with gas BBQ and huge back garden with a little woodland trail at the bottom. Great location, quiet and private but a short stroll to a lovely little beach, and a few minutes' drive to town/shops/all major supermarkets. Declan was super accomodating with check-in and check-out times, which is a big plus.

    Frances2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Our two families of 9 adults had a wonderful stay at Declan's house. It was bright and comfortable, and offered lots of relaxing space, both inside and outside. The location was perfect too, with great beaches and dining within easy access. In particular, it was lovely to be within a 10-minute walk of a long, sandy beach where we had an invigorating swim each day. We would highly recommend this whole place.

There is also a comfortable fold out bed in the living room which means Somers View Apartment can accommodate up to 4 guests. There is plenty of parking. The accommodation is just 3 miles from Gorey with taxis readily available. We are also located 40 minutes from Rosslare Harbour and 60 minutes from Dublin.
  • I stayed here for a week while on business in Gorey and absolutely loved it. The listing is accurate, the views of the countryside are beautiful, and the apartment is absolutely spotless. One of the cleanest Airbnbs I have every stayed in. It does take a bit of planning to get to and from town, but the full kitchen makes it easy to store and prepare your own food so you're not running back and forth to town too much. The hosts were always available to help when needed, and even offered to pick up something at the market for me one evening. Great hosts, great property, would highly recommend.

  • I booked as a long stay for a month and it was perfect spot to commute to Dublin and for exploring the surrounding area. The Airbnb is beautiful designed and there’s certainly a wow factor when you 1st see the views equally so at night when seeing the stars. The Airbnb is incredibly private and even though the owners are next door I never actually saw them the during my stay. Comms were great and owners were on hand should anything be needed and also very accommodating. Can imagine this place is amazing in summer. Highly recommended.

  • This barn has been converted into a very warm and cosy place to very high standards. It was comfortable, peaceful and spotless ! Ben had left a lot of goodies for our breakfast such as bread butter milk and jam, which was very thoughtful and truly appreciated. No need for you to bring any shampoo shower gel or soap as all was provided. We absolutely loved staying there and we really enjoyed the walk up Tara Hill just around the corner, where we were able to get stunning views of the sea and all surrounding countryside.
