  • We stayed at Mary’s place with our 2 year old son and what a wonderful weekend it was! Mary has a lovely spacious home, with lots of well thought of touches - the cuppa and biscuits on arrival was most needed after a long drive! Although the weather wasn’t in our favour, with wellies and coats we were able to walk around the beautiful grounds before going back inside for a lovely roll top bath! The hot tub was lovely and we really enjoyed everything about the weekend (except storm Dennis!) Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing weekend. Plenty to do if you’re willing to drive, and would recommend The New Inn about 6 miles away for lovely pub food! Thanks Mary for being a wonderful Host and sharing your beautiful home!

  • Absolutely fantastic Christmas spent here. Beautiful house (which I want to live in by the way😁), warm, spotlessly clean and so, so comfortable. Everything we needed, was in the house. It was lovely to able to cook on an aga again. Very doggie friendly house. Took a short drive to some amazing walks (and views). Taunton is only a few miles away and is a lovely town. Thanks ever so much.

    Claire2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were a large group of friends in the Taunton area for a ball at the nearby military base. This was an excellent place to stay - spacious and designed for large groups (5 bathrooms was a particularly useful feature). It’s about a 20 minute taxi ride from Taunton train station but once there we had no complaints!

The log burner was great and the bed comfy. The location and surrounding area is beautiful. Perfect for a couple of nights getaway. We fully enjoyed our time here and plan to return :)

A light and airy barn in contemporary style with far reaching views and good internet. Located on a smallholding on the edge of the Quantock Hills and only 3 miles from Taunton & the M5, it's easy to get to but so quiet. It has a kingsize bed, bunkbeds, and open-plan living space with sofa bed. It is accessible to those with difficulty walking and to wheelchair users. A cot and high chair are available. It has its own sun terrace and garden. Separate childrens play area. Dogs welcome.
Grace Barn has high ceilings and is extremely light and airy with lovely views from the living space, bedroom and private terrace. It is accessible to all and has a contemporary but cosy interior that works well in all seasons. There is underfloor heating throughout, and also a woodburner for cooler evenings. A barbecue is provided on the terrace (you will need your own charcoal). There are plenty of country walks from the Barn and dogs (max 2) are welcome at no extra cost. Please bring your own dog bed and throws to cover floors and sofas and ensure they do not leave hairs or mud on the furnishings. The bathroom has a bath, and also a wheelchair accessible shower. It is located in the middle of the barn with two doors - one direct to the main bedroom (like an ensuite), and a second door to the hallway near the bunk bed room. Several groups have used Grace Barn as a base from which to get married - it works well for this, and it is close to a number of wedding venues. Please note we also have a self contained one-bedroomed Garden Flat close to Grace Barn, and a sleeps-4 cabin which are both available for rent. Please enquire if you wish to know more or find the separate listings at this same location.
We love our location on the edge of the Quantock Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is peaceful , unspoilt Somerset countryside at its best but only 3 miles from facilities such as shops, restaurants, entertainment and transport links. There are many places to visit within easy reach such as beaches, walking, mountain biking, gardens and historic houses, as well as several wedding venues in easy reach.
  • A wonderful place to relax,A host couldn't be more inviting and pleasant, Such beautiful accommodation. we would 100% stay again if we were in the area. Thanks you !

  • We had a lovely weekend away with our dog, it was a great location for exploring the local beaches. The house was absolutely beautiful, amazing views and really lovely touches. Would highly recommend

    Zoe2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful, clean and really comfortable. Really didn't want to leave. I'd highly recommend a stay here.

    Christopher2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay if you just want to unwind. Plenty to see and do as most things close by good tips in house manual. Two things we did that were recommended is the daisy cottage tea room very nice. If you like your Indian maliha is just the best takeaway. Even when the weather is rubbish can’t beat putting on the wood burner and watch the weather the key thing they did if for me and my daughter a clear night you can see the best stars ever I’m a city boy and I was in a wow mode

    Martin2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Rosie’s place was much better than expected. I stay in a lot of Airbnb properties and many have everything, but that everything is almost always cheaper quality items - Rosie’s place is decked out with obviously higher quality finishing and equipment. I loved the fire so much, but I ran out of fuel - Rosie provided me with some more practically immediately. Couldn’t recommend more! Oh, according to Rosie’s own advert, the internet is only fast enough for email etc. However, my own internet speed test showed a speed of 6mbps - so it is plenty fast enough for multiple streaming devices. The internet speed would have been the only negative, but it seems that there are no negatives at all, I will definitely return!

    David2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Not our 1st time here, and hopefully not our last. Lovely place, you wont be disappointed.

    Colin2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • So much better than we expected and that's saying something as we were expecting it to be great anyway. It was clean and the underfloor heating worked a treat as we were lovely and warm all our stay. The views are something special and I can only describe it as being picture frame like. We will definitely come back in the summer.

Located at the foot of the Quantock Hills, within the curtilage of Gothelney Hall (a beautiful Grade I listed farmhouse, family home and working farm), the Stableblock is a recently and lovingly restored space which can accommodate up to 4 people for cosy, romantic & family friendly retreats in the heart of the countryside. Eat, Drink, Do.
In the heart of the English countryside and at the foot of the Quantock Hills, Gothelney Hall and the land on which it stands has been settled on as far back as 1026. Referenced "Godelege" (Good Meadow) in the Doomsday Book, and renamed "Gothelney" ('open fields') in Anglo Saxon times the land here has been farmed for over a thousand years. Its current guardians, we are in the midst of a process of renovation of the Hall and its outbuildings, the Stable Block being the most recent (and completed) example. We offer its spacious, yet warm and characterful environment for your exclusive use during your stay.
Owing to the large number of visitors we encounter on their way too or from Cornwall we are available for 1 night stays. But please please consider extending your trip, this is a worthy destination in its own right - hunker down by the log burner and play board games in December, or enjoy exploring the farm and fresh air in the warmer months. We'd like to think this is the idyllic rural retreat rather than one night stopover!
  • We really enjoyed our mini-break here with the family. Much bigger space than expected, loved our time by the fire, wondering around the farm, and heading down to Dunster for the day. Would highly recommend!

    Tim And Jen2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • You won’t be disappointed at the Stableblock! Sparkling clean, spacious & unique accommodation. Enormous kitchen that is very well equipped and lovely bedrooms. Was a treat to curl up around the fire on arrival. Great hosts and we wouldn’t hesitate to book into the Stableblock again. A great find.

    Rebekah2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Our second stay and just as perfect as our first! Lovely walk round the farm to see the pigs and evenings in front of the log burner. Beautifully decorated for Christmas, a really relaxing break away from it all.

    Sarah2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fred's place offers a spacious, practical but cosy and stylish retreat conveniently located for the M5 and the beautiful Quantock Hills. Excellent communication.

  • Excellent accommodation, very spacious and ideal for a break away. Fred was a great host and was able to recommend great local spots to visit. The living space is incredible, the kitchen area is huge and it's a perfect retreat during the winter too.

  • Don’t hesitate to book. Great clean, open space in a beautiful location. Would love to stay in the summertime and enjoy the lovely countryside. Extremely helpful hosts with good communication. Many thanks

  • The Stableblock at Gothelney Hall is a rare gem which combines amazing accommodation with a fabulous location and extremely good hosts. The place is much larger than we expected with a fantastic open plan kitchen space and cosy living and sleeping rooms. The farm itself is far enough outside of Bridgewater to give you a real feel of seclusion but without being completely cut off. Fred and his parents were wonderful hosts who could not have done more to make us feel welcome, including allowing us to roam free around the farm. We will definitely return!

Spacious king or twin room with ensuite in a beautiful, Georgian retreat house in rural Somerset village. AONB - Quantock Hills. 15 mins drive from coast. Great base to explore the area - Quantocks, Somerset levels, Glastonbury, Minehead, Dunster etc. Relaxed and welcoming. Calm, peaceful atmosphere. No TVs in rooms. The house is very quiet and perfect for people who want to get away from it all and have some peace. The bedrooms are stunning with ample space and a lovely view. Please ask if you would like a place in a class or activity. Packed lunches can be made if you are walking or cycling for the day. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the bedroom.

  • It was such a wonderful experience at Gramaryehouse, we really loved it there. Melanie is an amazing hostess, we felt so welcome. The house itself is magical, very clean, beautifully decorated, spacious rooms and modern bathrooms. We also enjoyed breakfasttime a lot, really good healthy food which tasted so good. We hope to visit Gramaryehouse again, maybe even for a retreat! Thank you Melanie for everything, you are amazing!

The Granary is a delightful detached south facing barn conversion with fabulous views situated in Over Stowey in the foothills of the Quantocks - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the first designated in the UK. The Granary offers exceptional, spacious self catering accommodation for two. It is an ideal base for exploring this beautiful area with its free roaming herds of wild red deer and Quantock ponies.
Ideal for walkers, the recently designated Coleridge Way starts from the National Trust owned Coleridge Cottage in the neighbouring village of Nether Stowey. For cyclists, the Quantocks have miles of cycling trails and here at the Granary we can offer plenty of storage for biking equipment. For birdwatchers and walkers alike, we are within 15 minutes' drive of the stunning new Steart Marshes reserve, run by the Wildfowl and Wetland Trust.
We are in a rural location, with the Quantock Hills within less than a 5 minute drive and a Forestry Commission Forest just down the road. Coleridge Cottage, a National Trust Property, is in the nearby village of Nether Stowey. The stunning new nature reserve at Steart Marshes is less than 15 minutes away, as is North Somerset's Jurassic Coast.
  • A very comfortable, cosy but also spacious place to stay. Ideal for exploring the area, especially the Quantock Hills which we walked to and from on one of our days walk. We intend to return!

  • We were visiting Somerset for difficult personal reasons, and Clancy was such a kind, welcoming and understanding host. Communication was easy and efficient, and our stay at The Nest was everything we needed: clean, comfortable and cosy, with thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The breakfast hamper was really lovely, too. Thank you so much, Clancy - we hope to return soon x

    Madeleine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Clancy was really fantastic. The place was decorated beautifully. It felt spacious and had everything we could have needed and more. There was an incredible selection of things for breakfast and the host gave us a great recommendation on where to have dinner locally. Shower is really good. Wifi is plenty fast enough for most uses. There is very limited phone signal in the room (its an old building with thick walls but you can get signal if you pop the phone on the windowsill. We didn't want signal but if you wanted to be making calls during your stay this could be an issue for some. I'd highly recommend staying here and will be doing so again when we are next looking for a getaway down this way.

So many nice touches- plenty of soap and shampoo with nice fluffy towels, very comfy bed and a wonderful breakfast picnic hamper and a fridge with milk, butter, fruit juice & wine! Great area for walking and bird watching. Would highly recommend this Airbnb.

  • Absolutely superb! We very much enjoyed a 2 night stay. Clancy and Chris were fantastic hosts. The guest suite was immaculate, tastefully decorated and extremely well thought out. There was not one thing we would of changed. Clancy added some very cute touches like chocolates on the bed, disposable slippers, and the most gorgeous breakfast hamper. It really was amazing!! The king size bed was very comfortable, peaceful surroundings with some great pubs and Indian restaurant. We highly recommended this guest suite to anybody wanting accommodation in the area. Top stay, great hosts!! 10/10 for everything. Emma and Michael

Our 17th Century home is a romantic country house in the Quantock Hills in Somerset, not far from Glastonbury. We provide vegetarian food, and specialise in detox and juicing retreats. Sky Room is a twin bed ensuite.
This is a lovely twin bedded room with ensuite bathroom, with a bath and shower. The house is quiet - wake to birdsong and cock crow. There is a view of the garden and ancient barn and the rose-covered walls and flower bed. It suits children as well as adults.
Its incredibly peaceful here, with dark skies for seeing the stars. Lots of walks on the Quantocks which are unspoilt, access to the coast, to Glastonbury with its Tor, Abbey, and crystal shops, Bridgwater and Taunton for amenities and shopping. Surprising amount of musical events (eg Music on the Quantocks, the top musical organisation in the South West, and also Under One Sun for global music), village activities, nice restaurants, pubs, and much more!
  • Very cosy and lovely place. A good place to escape the busy life. You will be very well taken care of by the hosts. Thanks again for a relaxing stay.

  • I would definitely recommend a stay here. A beautiful house & room. We were very well looked after & the breakfast was yummy! We have a 2 year old and a travel cot was even available for us. The Bridgwater Illumination Carnival was amazing!!!

    Katie2017-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This accommodation is absolutely recommended. Jennifer and Robin are very friendly hosts, the house is surrounded by beautiful nature (including several ancient trees). The way leads over small streets, a navigation is therefore definitely recommended. The room is clean, tastefully decorated and quiet. And those who are interested in healthy food, have with Jennifer and Robin competent conversation partners on this topic.

You are welcome to use other shared areas of the house including the lounge and conservatory. We offer to serve you breakfast.

Nether Stowey lies at the foot of the Quantock Hills - which are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - just off the A39. The perfect location for walkers and cyclists, with enough local attractions for those looking for a more relaxed break. Nether Stowey has a long and interesting history. It is the starting point of the Coleridge Way. The Coleridge Way is famous for its links with the Romantic Poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth. The older part of the village is in a conservation area. The village has two pubs, the Rose and Crown and The Ancient Mariner; the latter serves food at lunchtime and evenings. There are a good selection of convenient stores , a small library and the village post office also houses the Quantock Tearoom.

Romantic country house in the Quantock Hills in Somerset, with a double, twin bedded and loft room all ensuite. This is a much loved home which we are happy to share - in the original spirit of Airbnb. Its a vegetarian household so if you cook meat please clean up. Open fireplaces, and well equipped kitchen. its not a purpose built holiday home so it does have our possessions here and there and as we are deep in the countryside visitors like spiders are a hard to keep out!
Our 17th C rural home in the beautiful Quantock Hills offers healthy vegetarian living, with raw food a speciality. Our place is very peaceful and quiet. There are 2 beautiful ensuite guest rooms, one double and one twin bedrooms. For extra guests we can sometimes offer a comfortable double sofa bed in 'the quiet room' in the converted loft, with its own shower room. There is a woodburning stove in the sitting room, and an open fire in the dining room. There is a large ancient barn in the garden, which could be used for a tent, and a nice big lawn surrounded by flowerbeds and trees for sitting out on sunny afternoons.
The Quantock Hills are a truly unspoilt area of natural beauty, off the general tourist track. There are beautiful valleys full of snowdrops, bluebell woods, and heather clad moors, depending on the season. Lots of pretty villages with ancient churches, teashops and old country pubs, hilltops where you can walk for miles with views of the Somerset levels (we are fortunate to be above the flood plain) or across to Wales. We are close to the towns of Taunton and Bridgwater which have all the shops and facilities, cinema, and entertainment you might wish for, and there are the well-known Somerset Art Weeks in September when you can visit artists' studios in lovely old farmhouses and village halls. Bridgwater has a famous carnival in November with dozens of amazing floats lit by thousands of light bulbs and decked with local people in costume, accompanied by loud music - and finished off with a display of fireworks held on poles, known as 'squibbing'. Glastonbury and Wells are only 30--45 mins drive and are fascinating ancient places of pilgrimage. We give you lots of information to read about them! Also places to walk, teashops, and ideas for days out...including Clarks Village at Street for retail therapy, and Glastonbury town for crystals and bookshops...
  • We all loved our stay at this lovely house - it was relaxed and cosy, which was perfect for a group with children and dogs! You can walk from the house out onto the Quantocks, and we had everything we needed. Thank you for the thoughtful touches, like biscuits and a loaf of bread.

    Claire2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic stay in a gorgeous house. Still dreaming of their gorgeous log burner! A really lovely house in a gorgeous part of the country. Would love to stay again.

    Antonia2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and fascinating home full of interesting books and artwork and quirky artefacts. It was a privilege to stay here! It is quaint and full of character. We found it warm enough using the radiators (we didn’t light a fire) and it was comfortable. The cooker worked but could do with updating. The large tables were ideal for playing board games. We would certainly consider staying here again.

    Clare2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A real classic country home, full of character and charm, and beautiful antiques! Stunning countryside and fantastically quiet. Very comfy bedrooms.. really felt like a home away from home.

    Frances2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay in the original spirit of AirBnB where you are staying at someone’s residence when they are not using it. This is not a sterile new rental property, it’s a delightful old country house with a lifetime of furniture, knickknacks, and so on. The kitchen worked out great, plenty space for folks to eat and chat while making food. We enjoyed our stay. Key handoff was flawless.

    Ian2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a large country house with loads of space and beautiful gardens. It has lots of character which you can expect from a house that is nearly 400 years old. We had the whole house to ourselves which was great; each of the rooms has its own bathroom and we could use the kitchen to prepare food which was really useful.

The Hen House sits in its own enclosed garden area to the side of the rest of Sherwood's gardens and grounds which guests are welcome to explore. Between them the cottages can easily accommodate 12 people and beds for groups of 16 -18 can be arranged subject to agreement with the owners. Well behaved dogs are welcome. The cottages have been converted from the old out-buildings at Sherwood and are are set in about five acres of a rather overgrown woodland garden, which is surrounded by fields and backs on to a valley of mature forestry commission woodland. Wild Caraway, a delightful cabin set in an old hay-meadow with long views across Taunton to the hills beyond. The meadow is yours for your stay - outdoor living or 'glamping' at its best but with the comforts of a fully equipped ensuite cabin to retreat to. It is utterly peaceful and hidden away and a great spot to relax surrounded by nature in a safe environment. Make a fire, bake a pizza or barbecue, and let the kids run wild. Taunton and the M5 motorway are just 10 minutes away by car.
Wild Caraway is set on a rural smallholding on the edge of the Quantock Hills just 10 minutes from the M5, and 10 minutes into Taunton, making this a great base for exploring or visiting family or attending events nearby. Magical Hestercombe Gardens with its cafe, and landscape and formal gardens (by Lutyens and Jekyll) are a short walk from the cabin up the lane and through the woods. Wild Caraway is a large sized 'pod' structure with domed roof and plenty of opening windows and doors to let in light and air. The kingsize bed has a fully sprung comfortable mattress so you can sleep deeply to the sound of tawny owls in the nearby trees. The bunk beds are designed for smaller people (175cm x 75cm) - about 5ft6 long and have comfy memory foam mattresses. They are best for children. A travel cot and high chair can be provided on request. All the windows and doors are fitted with blackout blinds, curtains or shutters to ensure you won't be woken early by the sunrise in summer. The cabin has an ensuite shower and a separate summer house with eco-loo a few steps away. The kitchen is equipped with a two-ring electric hob, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle and toaster. A picnic table, barbecue, fire pit and small pizza oven are provided outside, plus wood (but bring your own charcoal). Across the stream is a play area including a giant net and trampoline, swing and slide. Children (and adults!) are welcome to explore the meadow and will have the freedom to run around and play in a safe environment. There is a pond which is fenced off but pond dipping is allowed with adult supervision. Try 'meadow-bathing' - bask in the smells, sounds and colours of a traditional wild flower hay meadow in Summer. Appreciate the beauty of a 'brown' field. There are over 15 species of grass in the meadow alone, plus butterflies, moths, beetles, grasshoppers ...... On the smallholding there are chickens, our friendly labrador, a walled vegetable garden and in the summer months we have pigs. The yearly rhythm of the meadow also brings sheep in the winter months, wild flowers in Spring and haymaking in the summer, followed by apple juicing and the beauty of the Autumn leaves. Access to the cabin is across a short grassy track, which you can drive across most of the year and park right next to the cabin. In wet weather, you will park a short distance away and barrow your belongings across to the cabin.
Our hamlet of Gotton is ideally situated being so close to town but deep in the countryside. The nearest pub is a mile away and the lovely Hestercombe House even closer. The Quantock Hills are a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, perfect for walking and cycling.
  • My partner and I had a lovely stay here. The cabin is warm and cozy. We stayed during March. Made great use of the BBQ and the fire pit kept us warm in the evening. Great that there was a supply of fire wood too but we did take some of out own. Location is peaceful with a nice view over the meadows. All facilities were perfect, clean, every thing we needed for comfort. Barney the family dog was very sweet. We wanted a couple of days away, just the two of us alone, in nature, with comfort, to just BBQ and eat all day and enjoy the evenings with a drink in front a cozy fire. And thats exactly what we got. Just perfect.

  • Great place to stay. Highly recommended.

    Alex2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is an absolute dream....thoughtfully created to provide a wonderful experience on every level. My boys and I loved it - and will be back! Thank you Rosie!

    Kirstie2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovey little cabin in a wonderful location. We were there with 2 children and the cabin is easily big enough for a full week’s stay as long as you keep things tidy. The kids loved the bunk beds! Our stay was late October / early November with some very blustery weather, but although we’d worried about booking at this time of year the cabin is really warm and dry, with double glazing and a heater that gets the small space warm in no time. We had good weather too and the surrounding countryside is stunning - especially the view from the big round window that frames the front door. The design of the cabin is what makes it such a comfy relaxing space (light airy interior, cute little portholes, strings of fairy lights) and it felt much bigger than it was. And Rosie is a lovely host too - always quick to respond to any questions we had. We’d definitely recommend this place.

    William2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little space for a couple of nights away. Great location. Made good use of the pizza oven and fire pit in the autumnal weather. Well equipped place which the children loved too... Especially the play equipment, pond dipping, exploring the meadow, and making their own pizzas.

    Natalie 2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying at Wild Caraway, it's a beautiful location, lovely and peaceful. I would call it extreme glamping! All the benefits of camping but in beautifully decorated building with everything you could possibly need. We also enjoyed a local takeaway, which was delivered to the door, sat out late at night by the firepit, and enjoyed the views during the daytime. Thanks Rosie for your most excellent hospitality! It was so good that we made a second booking whilst we were still there!

    Kirsty2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is wonderful very clean and has everything you need, its location is lovely and private and the views and superb. We had a lovely stay.

    Richard2019-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Wild Caraway is a wonderful, easy, comfy and relaxing space to be in! Everything you need is to hand, with a great large comfy bed, with a lovely view to boot!! We went as a couple but it would be equally good with children! It’s a well designed stylish space that has lovely touches such as the stained glass windows, handy guides to local wildlife and a heated towel rail in the en-suite that felt downright luxurious! Rosie was great to deal with as a host and we had a restful rejuvenating weekend away, thank you!

  • I stayed here for the first time after I had mixed up staying in one of the same hosts other locations. A total surprise, and what a joy. For the price I would say you would be hard pushed to find a better stay in Bridgwater. The place is stunning. Full of period features. Fireplaces. A stunning original floor that is heated. Beautiful big sash windows. Tina has done a stunning job of restoring this place to its glory. I enjoyed staying here, all modern amenities present. I was alone but there is plenty of space to be comfortable for a couple. Brilliant location near town and ample parking. Fantastic fully equipped kitchen. It is sparkling clean top to bottom, airy and beautifully decorated. I will be staying again and look forward to it. Thank you Tina for helping me out in a quagmire!

    Abar2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • My stay here couldn't have been any better. Due to the low price I was thinking it can't be as good as the pictures? But it really is. It's a lovely cottage, right in the middle of Bridgwater town centre but well away from the roads so very quiet. The hosts supply a parking permit which is a big plus! The cottage is sparkling clean, the heating is great and the bed comfy. The hosts are very friendly and reply to messages immediately. The perfect Airbnb experience. If I'm back in Bridgwater this is where I will stay.

    Craig2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, parking permit extremely useful. Host very helpful. Thoroughly recommend this very clean, cosy and comfortable cottage.

    Gina2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I had an excellent extended stay in this super cottage. I can confirm the previous reviews which state how friendly an helpful the host was and how clean and well presented the property was. Its location in the town centre was ideal for me and staying on my own, I felt very secure and safe. I will be having need to stay in the town a lot over the coming months and I will always check availability on this property as it would be my very first choice.

With apologies, due to the Corona Virus crisis, The Studio is closed for the foreseeable future. We look forward to welcoming you back to our beautiful accommodation when government advises that it is safe for you to visit again.
With apologies, The Studio is closed until further notice.
Situated 5 miles outside town, the village of West Monkton has a pub, and a Church, about 20 minutes walk from The Studio. Half an hour's walk will take you to another pub and a local Co-op shop. But we are on a hill, so whilst the walk to the pub is down hill, it's uphill all the way back! Taunton is easily reached, home to Somerset County Cricket, The Brewhouse Theatre, independent shops and restaurants, and local independent schools (Kings, Queens, Taunton). Hestercombe Gardens are next door, West Somerset Railway is close by.
  • Very clean and tidy quick responses to messages very easy to find. Lovely studio to stay in with stunning views.

  • Fantastic place. It’s more spacious than the photos make it look, and the outdoor space is absolutely lovely. I traveled with my collie who loved it so much he didn’t want to leave. The atmosphere is friendly, relaxed, homey. Everything I needed was there - plenty of storage space, comfy bed, space heaters for a cold evening, and useful kitchen items like scissors, a grater, and a small freezer box in the fridge. I really appreciated that the kettle was steel (not plastic), and there were pots & pans that were metal (without non-stick coatings). Communication was excellent, directions clear. And it was wonderfully quiet, making for very restful sleep. Highly recommended!!

At the foot of the beautiful Quantock Hills and only 4 miles from the coast, the perfect location for walkers and cyclists, with enough local attractions for those looking for a more relaxed break.
A small double room with comfortable double bed, hanging space, tea/coffee making facilities and exclusive use of adjacent bathroom. Also a range of maps, books and local information are provided. The room overlooks the garden and Nether Stowey Castle Mount, from which there are beautiful views.
Nether Stowey lies at the foot of the Quantock Hills - which are designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - just off the A39. First mentioned in Anglo-Saxon times as an agricultural settlement and in the Doomsday Book as being one of four separate manors, Nether Stowey has a long and interesting history. It is the starting point of the Coleridge Way The Coleridge Way and is famous for its links with the Romantic Poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth. The older part of the village is in a conservation area. The village has two pubs, the Rose and Crown and The Ancient Mariner; the latter serves food at luchtime and evenings. There are a good selection of shops, a small library and the village post office also houses the Quantock Tearoom. The Mount - Nether Stowey Castle - was a Norman motte-and-bailey castle, built in the 11th century. It has been designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument and there are fantastic views from the top. Only 9 miles from the M5 Nether Stowey is easily accessible from any part of the country. There are regular rail and coach services to Bridgwater (8 miles). Perfect for keen walkers and cyclists, we are 4 miles from the West Somerset coast, 2 miles from the top of Quantock Common, 8 miles from the start of Exmoor.
  • Jan is a lovely, welcoming host. I stayed in a comfortable bed and had the use of my own bathroom with shower and a bath. The whole house was immaculately clean. I also enjoyed my breakfast of cereal, toast and fruit that was provided. There was also space for a car on the drive. Definitely recommended. Thank you 😀

  • Jan has such a lovely place that I almost don't want to reveal this little secret to the world of Airbnb. Jan is a great host, very attentive and quick communicator. More than happy to chat but likewise gives you your own space too. Her house is a haven. Beautiful and very homely. The room was great, perfect size and the bed was super comfortable. There was everything you needed including tea and coffee making facilities in the room. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Jan and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
