Champney's West is a stunning outport community and is part of 12 communities that make up Trinity Bight.. The Fox Island trail goes by the Sea Loft. Champney's West is a community well known for its strong sense of community and hospitality. Google Champneys's West days and its become a fun filled weekend in August. The Rising Tide theater is 10 km away. The Port Rexton Brewery is 4 km away. I have had some Pet owners not follow rules of house. Regretfully, I am no longer pet friendly
Newly constructed space build to code. It is nestled on a hill overlooking the stunning quaint out port town of Champney's West. It is a loft designed in the traditional Newfoundland outport way with all the modern conveniences. I tried to recreate the outport theme of my childhood on Merasheen Island in Placentia Bay a resettled community.
Fox Island Trail lies at the heart of Champney's West.
  • Really enjoyed the space and the decor. The view was amazing, I would like a longer time to just go back and sit on the deck. Bed was comfy, things were clean, kitchen had everything you needed...even Netflix and a cozy loveseat couch. There was a good coffee shop in town along with the brewery close. Even made sure to stop by the local aquarium. Miss it already.

  • Wonderful spot! Unparalleled view, and the area has lots of small businesses, excellent food, hiking trails, and great people. William's place was perfect for a weekend away in the fall: very clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Many thanks!

  • Great loft and superb and beautiful location. Very comfortable and great views on the sea. I would rent again anytime. Strongly recommend.

  • There is a lot in a small package with this loft space. It was cozy, very clean and modern. The view was Newfoundland beautiful. One must drive to do anything such as hike, visit restaurants etc. as it is quite remote but it represents a typical fishing village with friendliness to spare. We enjoyed our stay very much.

    Eric2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, very clean, had everything you need.

    Gary2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was by far one of my favorite places we stayed on our trip to Newfoundland. The view cannot be topped. William was a great host and quick to offer tips. We used William's place as a base to explore Bonavista, Port Rexton, and hike the Skerwink trail.

    Brittany2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • William's place is amazing! The first photo in the listing is the actual view from the door of the loft. Champney's West is so picturesque it's hard to believe it's real. Very convenient to get to Port Rexton and Trinity, and about 30-40 minutes to Bonavista. The loft is very cozy and the seaside decor is a nice touch. It was spotless and had everything we needed. William was a lovely host with great recommendations. Highly recommend! My only note is that you might not want to stay here if you plan on going out at night... The drive to the town would likely be a bit treacherous after dark. Didn't bother us since we stayed in at night!

    Sasha2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • William's place has the most beautiful views one can ask for. This charming loft is in a great location for excellent walks and discover the Bonavista Peninsula. William was very thoughtful and made our whole family (including our dogs) feel very welcomed. We loved all the recommendations he provided us to enjoy our time to the fullest. Thank you William!

  • René is an excellent host, he responded very quickly to all our messages and was very accommodating to all of our requests. The property itself is absolutely stunning and the location is amazing. We can’t wait to come back!

  • A charming get away from it all house, perched on a hill top at the end of a tiny road with a view to die for. Waking up to a view like that is something very special. The house is very comfortably furnished, and kitchen well equipped. It’s definitely off the beaten track yet close to some very interesting walks and places to visit, such as Skerwink Trail & Two Whales Cafe.

    Maria2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • There are not enough superlatives to describe how much we love your seaside home, Rene. Within hours of our arrival we were already wishing we had reserved a week instead of three nights, and ever since we have been plotting our return visit. Your home is everything we love...the furnishings, decor, wide-plank floors, bead board, seaside colors in all the rooms, beautiful artwork, a gorgeous view from every window of the ocean and spectacular landscape. It is all so perfect...even in the rain. It is truly a Treasure!

  • This was our fourth visit to Sam’s. We absolutely love it every time. Amazing location, beautiful place, and a great part of the province.

    Daniel2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Tranquil and secluded place to be reminded of the beauty and magnificence of nature. We would go back today if we could!

    Marcy2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spot - a short drive to Trinity. Secluded cove where we saw whales one morning and a bald eagle perched 100 ft away on the second morning. Very cosy home with many folk art touches. Highly recommend.

    Owen2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • The photos and write up don’t do Rene’s home justice. It’s a wonderful house in an absolutely stunning location. Rene makes things very easy with excellent communication before our stay and his “manual” in the house helps greatly. Very highly recommended for those wishing to get away from it all.

  • Sam’s Treasure Chest is an absolutely stunning place to stay if you’re visiting Trinity Bight. The views and peace and quiet cannot be beat. The pirate theme, with costumes, decor, games and even treasure hunt was a hit with our kids and made for a great distraction when we had a really rainy day. The place was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. Would absolutely recommend!

The place is very clean and he leaves the cupboards full to pick from. Lots of coffee (Keurig) all the things you need to get an early start to your day. Highly recommend this spot.

  • Gary and Valerie’s home was beautiful. We weren’t planning on staying in English Harbour, but stumbled across this and we’re so happy we did. The location is a stunning small town with a beautiful coast. Gary met us when we arrived and showed us around and gave us all the tips on what to do. The room was separate from the house so it was nice and private with your own bathroom and kitchen since no one was staying in the King room. They thought of everything and had so many nice touches. The TV comes with internet which was nice too. All around awesome stay thanks so much!!

  • Brenda’s little boat house was amazing! Funky stylish space with everything you need. Also I must mention the *heated flooring* which truly came in handy for us! Brenda has a fully functional kitchen with just about everything you would need to fix up a nice meal. The sunrise is beautiful in the morning as you can open the door and watch it from the balcony. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to friends and family. Thanks so much Brenda!

Spurrell’s Heritage Home is a 4 Star Canada Select Beachfront Vacation Home. Situated on the land his Great Grandmother Spurrell bought in 1930, owner Dustin Spurrell has recreated a vacation home that has been said to be the best kept secret around. The original house was torn down in 1968. In later years, a barn-shed was converted into a 1 bedroom cabin for Dustin's late Grandmother Sarah Spurrell. In 2010, Dustin opened Spurrell's Heritage Home as a tribute to his families past.
The front entrance, porch, kitchen, dining room, stairway, landing and double bedroom is the old structure which was my late Grandmother's one bedroom cabin (from the outside it looks like a barn shaped structure). The landing at the top of the steps was where the washroom was located. During the renovation process we removed the washroom and added a skylight. We also added a skylight in the double bedroom. No other interior walls were removed or relocated. The living room, laundry room, 1/2 bathroom, master bedroom and full washroom is completely new.
Spurrell's Heritage Home is located in Dunfield (the community where I was born and raised). My family has lived there since the mid 1800's. It is only a short 5 minute drive from Historic Trinity and 15 minutes from Port Rexton (Skerwink Trail and Port Rexton Brewery). Bonavista is approximately a 50 minute drive. Random Passage, Joe's Bar and Rugged Beauty Boat Tours are located in New Bonaventure, just a short 15 minute drive.
  • This is a one-of-a-kind treat! A private cove on the water with an extraordinary view from both the beach and the picture windows in the home. A large outdoor deck with grill, firepit and picnic area. The home is very comfortable, clean and we loved sleeping with the windows cracked open to hear the waves cascading on the shore. Our host, Dustin, was responsive and very friendly. Highly recommended.

  • My husband and I were in Newfoundland for two weeks, and we stayed in five different Airbnb locations. Spurrell's Heritage Home was by far our favorite! The house is spotless, has everything you need for a comfortable stay, and the property and views are simply amazing! It's definitely the perfect place to stay while exploring the beautiful Bonavista area.

    Ruth2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, tucked away with lots of space for 6 to sleep. Close to Trinity and New Bonaventure (Random Passage site).

  • Spurrel's Heritage Home is unique in its setting and the character of the home. I'd prefer three days here to a week at a Ritz-Carlton.

  • Staying at Sisters house and in Port Rexton was incredible. Loved the small community feel and just wandering around the bay.watching geese from a few doors down make their way to the water. The house is perfectly located for hiking the Sherwink trail and visiting Trinity and Bonavista. The brewery is steps away and there is a lovely coffee shop close by. The house has all you need to make a meal and the view from the table or the outside deck while you eat it is tranquil. The most comfortable bed ever and the lovely soaker tub were delicious icing on my cake. Will recommend to friends !!

  • Booked at the very end of the season, and Patricia warned about construction under the house and offered to cancel the reservation. I appreciated her honesty. House was still beautiful and comfortable and the location could not be better.

    Matt2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very well located and sparkling clean cottage. Patricia left bread and milk for us, along with many other staples. She was prompt with communication and was a wonderful host I highly recommend this cottage.

  • Look no further for your home away from home in Trinity East! This is my second time staying at Patricia's place and it definitely won't be my last. The house is oceanfront overlooking Trinity- one of the most spectacular views from bed I have ever seen. Patricia goes above and beyond to help and is always a text away. Can't recommend enough!

Come kick back in this Tiny House with an ocean view that was designed and built with sustainability in mind. The home is indeed Tiny but the location is HUGE! It is located just steps away from the Skerwink Trail and within walking distance of Fisher's Loft and the Port Rexton Brewery. There are views of Trinity Bay as well as the surrounding hills. The Tiny House includes Off Grid features like solar power, composting toilet and a beautiful mini wood stove to warm up this cozy space.
The outside of the home is reminiscent of a traditional Newfoundland Saltbox with colourful clapboard siding, while the interior features modern architectural design with clean lines and warm accents, such as exposed wood cathedral ceiling and natural birch hardwood floors. The home comes fully equipped with a kitchen, bathroom, cozy loft bedroom with queen sized bed, a space that can be easily converted for dining, lounging or sleeping and plenty of unique storage solutions. This Tiny House was on the cover of Costco Connection and featured in Home & Cabin magazine. To see more online, you should be able to find these stories and more info at Driftwood Dwellings. Port Rexton has become one of the hottest destinations in Newfoundland's booming tourism industry. Since 1989, Fisher's Loft has been a real trailblazer in the community with incredible views and beautiful gardens that enhance the dining experiences at the Inn. More recently, the Port Rexton Brewery has been a resounding success and is a happening gathering place in the community. Underpinning all of the appeal of Port Rexton is the absolutely stunning natural beauty...you will be blown away by the world class hiking, the beautiful rolling hills, whale watching and other ocean exploration along the gentle, undulating bays and jaw dropping cliffs.
  • We had an amazing weekend stay at the tiny house in beautiful Port Rexton. Check in was super easy and great, Jon was available on the property and provided quick responses to questions when needed. The space included basic supplies for everything we needed (like spices, and kitchen supplies) and had wood provided to keep the fire going in the wood stove during the chilly days, also had a bbq and a fire pit which is awesome! The space was very clean and the location was awesome, a short walk to the Skerwink Trail as well as to the Port Rexton Brewery. The experience was made better by the dogs that were on the property :). Beautiful spot for a baycation, would recommend to everyone I know and will definitely be back for another stay in summer 2020!

    Nicole2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome stay in the tiny home. Jon gave good specific details on how to operate everything. Close to an awesome trail and beautiful view from the property

    Megan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Jon's place was very clean and stylish. He provided great tips for local places to check out and was an all-round great host.

  • Beautiful place. Warm. Cozy. Comfortable. A perfect retreat!

    Colleen2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Really neat space! Small but it has everything you need. Very clean too.

    Mike2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful tiny home.

    William2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • It’s really awesome to get an opportunity to experience “Tiny Living” in the wonderful community of Port Rexton. However, this tiny space packs a large punch. You will find it incredibly clean and well kept, as well as well stocked for all your food prep needs. The double burner stove top works great, and there is a BBQ there for anything else you might want to prepare. The washroom is clean and I was able to get a nice hot shower after my Bon Rexton bike ride. My favorite part of my stay was relaxing with a fire in the tiny wood stove, with a hot cup of coffee and a good novel. I slept very well (even with high winds on my final evening) and woke up naturally with the morning light feeling quite rested. If you want to have a cozy stay in one of Newfoundland and Labrador’s most scenic and happening rural communities - this is the spot!

    Richard2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing three night stay at the tiny house. It was super cozy, clean and had everything we needed. Such a fun experience and I’d recommend it to anyone!

  • We had a lovely weekend. The house is in a wonderful location, right on the water and extremely close to Port Rexton Brewery (had great beer and grilled cheese!). Although the weather wasn't very kind to us, it was very comfortable, cozy and incredibly relaxing. We did manage to have our Sunday morning coffee out on the deck once the weather had cleared, beautiful! Patricia was a great host and always very quickly replied to our questions. The house was lovely and clean and had everything we needed for our weekend away. We would definitely stay again. Thank you :)

  • Robin Hood House exceeded my every expectation; the property was comfortable, well appointed, and clean. The house was perfectly preserved and had the beautiful history of its inhabitants and the area preserved within it. This home brought me back to visiting my great grandfather along the cape as a child, and I truly felt like I was at home within its walls. I am so looking forward to (hopefully) staying here again!

We are conveniently located on the main road, just a 10 minute walk to the historic part of Trinity. Our beautiful home sits on a forested acre and a half lot, well-situated just moments away from walking trails and ocean views. If you have time, some whale watching and hiking on the Skerwink trail are must-do activities! We are happy to provide accommodations to anyone interested in visiting this unique place we call home. We know you won't be disappointed!
There is so much to do here, it is difficult to narrow it down. Be sure to go out whale watching, sea kayaking or an ATV tour with Trinity Eco Tours, see some dinner theatre/shows and the outdoor pageant hosted by Rising Tide Theatre. Hike the Skerwink trail, visit the Port Rexton Brewing Co., the Trinity Forge, Aunt Sarah's Chocolate Shop, The Dock Marina Restaurant/Gallery/Gift Shoppe, the Hiscock House and much more! When you are done in the immediate area, be sure to head down to Bonavista for a day excursion to see the lighthouse and puffin colony and other historic sites. Stop off at the Bonavista Social Club, then, on the way back for a wood-fired pizza or the Two Whales Coffee Shoppe in Port Rexton for a freshly brewed coffee and a partridgeberry brownie! :)
  • Highly recommend staying at Michele’s in Trinity. The host is wonderful - she will give you a lot of local tips on where to go, what to do if you are interested. It is clean, beautifully decorated and there is a lot of parking. The room has a coffee bar, a little fridge and the host makes you fresh baking each morning! There is also outdoor space if the weather is nice. It is minutes away from Trinity & Port Rexton (great brewery there) and also close to Bonavista & Elliston.

    Jess2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We will definitely be back again. We only stayed one night, but Michelle was very friendly and has a beautiful, clean, and comfortable place. It is only a short walk from the tourist locations in Trinity and a short drive to Port Rexton and other local tourist or hiking locations.

    Philip2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • My parents stayed and had a wonderful time here. A lovely space with comfortable furnishings and very clean. The host was very nice and friendly. Their only critique was that it was a continental style breakfast so I would plan on bringing your own.

    Katrina2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated room in nice house close to the charming town center of Trinity. Michelle and Michel are amazing hosts! They made my stay perfect. Starting with delicious zucchini bread in the morning, great tips for sightseeing and food, to lovely chats. I highly recommend to stay with them and will definitely be back.

    Christine2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Michele’s place was a great place to stay. The room was tastefully decorated. Everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable. Michele was there to meet us and provided great hospitality and help. Breakfast was served each morning. I would recommend this place.

  • Brand new!!! Great stay at Trinity, a close drive and walkable distance to the town. Luxurious compared to most B&Bs, in many ways a lot better than many hotel rooms. Warm welcome from helpful, thoughtful friendly hosts. Fresh baking every morning. A few nice little touches like treats in the room and a little fridge. Ample parking. A really comfortable bed and a good-sized bathroom with a shower. Quiet, so we had great sleeps. Trinity is a fun and interesting place, we had a great time and it was a perfect visit in every way.

    Malcolm2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • I absolutely loved my stay at Michele’s bnb! My only wish is we stayed longer. There were so many nice thoughtful touches in the room. From the mini Fridge and coffee station to the little amenities in the washroom and the tv with Netflix. Michele also provides you with fruit and some home made goodies in the morning which I didn’t expect at all! It was so thoughtful. It was more luxurious than a hotel stay in my opinion. The bed was super comfy and the whole room was incredibly clean, beautifully styled and so cozy. The location is great because it’s a quick drive into Trinity but also close to Port Rexton. All in all an amazing stay! I can’t rave about this place enough.

    Holleh2019-08-13T00:00:00Z
  • This Air B & B was one of my favorite!! Michele was an amazing host. She was very easy to talk to and was able to give us many local recommendations. Their house was beautiful, including the veranda to sit on and relax. Our room was cozy, beautifully decorated with a coastal theme. We had all of the comforts of home and then some!! There were fresh baked muffins and croissants at our door each day. There were many amenities in this room including a private master bath, coffee maker, and a mini fridge. The goodies in the fridge included, juice, cold water, yogurt cheese and coffee cream. We especially loved their fur-baby Sammy, who was very quiet. We would not hesitate to recommend, nor stay at Michele's again!!

  • After a windy day of exploring, in what was to us a more remote part of Newfoundland, we were all sooo pleased with what awaited us when we walked in. From amazing personal touches to the very modern interior, we all immediately relaxed like we were in our own homes. While it was too windy/cold to take advantage of the BBQ, deck or firepit, the basket of cozy blankets inside were a welcomed site😉. We loved the view and we would definately recommend to friends.

  • This was our first time visiting Newfoundland, and it was just absolutely amazing. The house was beautiful and cozy, and the view was exceptional. The service was wonderful and helpful. They gave us a lot of tips about the area. Just an overall an amazing experience. A bit of a drive from St. John’s, but it was 100% worth the trip. (Also recommend looking into booking a whale watching experience with Sea of Whales NL, Kris & Shawna were so awesome. It was one of the coolest experiences we have ever had and Kris was beyond amazing - super knowledgeable and fun.) We all really wish we could have stayed longer, I really hope we will be back soon.

  • A beautiful historic home in a wonderful village. We arrived on a glorious early fall day so there were wonderful photo ops in the whole village. Everything was as advertised and expected, including a delightful dinner at the connected restaurant. Very friendly people all around town, and lots of places to walk/hike. (And btw we did indeed have the best deck for sunset cocktails!)

    Donna2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start? This is a perfect Airbnb. From the beginning, Marieke and the staff at Artisan Inn (who own Grover House) we’re very responsive to any questions and had so many helpful tips. The info binder they provide is the most helpful one I’ve ever used. It helps identify hikes in the area, numerous local Trinity artisan shops and interpretive centers/historic buildings. It also provides great info about visiting Bonavista, Elliston, etc. And definitely go to the Port Rexton Brewery they recommend. If you’re on the fence about whether the stay around Bonavista or Trinity, stay at Grover House. You’ll get to do it all and in the best settings. The home itself has all of the character you’d hope to see in something built around 1847 or so. It’s just stunning. The deck is awesome! TIP: The ceilings are traditional, so they aren’t very high. If you’re over six feet tall, definitely let them know, so they can help determine whether the home will be big enough. Dining Tip: Book a dinner at Twine Loft, their restaurant. Three courses of delicious.

This historic cottage is centrally located between Bonavista & Trinity. Built in 1914, the front bedroom & kitchen feature original low beam ceilings. From the living room, queen bedroom or back deck , view the sun rise or colourful fishing boats pass by. The nearby beach has "Fool's Gold" & 560,000,000 year old fossils. The corner store, take-outs, wharf, bank, grocery/liquor store are less than a 5 min. walk away. Lookout Park was formed by the glaciers & Port Union is across the harbour.
The house is located on a lane off the Main Road and known locally as Hiscock's Point. It was built in 1914 by the Society of United Fishermen for the 5 month pregnant widow of one of 4 men from Catalina lost in the Great Sealing Disaster. His name "Walter Pierce" is listed at the Sealers Museum in Elliston. The Sealing Disaster helped William Coaker unite the fishermen & he formed the Fishermen's Union . He sold the fish on behalf of the fishermen & built the town of Port Union on the other side of Catalina Harbour - the "Only Union Built Town in North America". This broke the merchant's control & changed the direction of NL history forever. Private and peaceful, it's centrally located to the peninsula's historic sites & trails.. Easy check-in with keypad.
Quiet area with an unobstructed waterfront view. Walking distance to stores, takeout & pub and Lookout Park.
  • Great house very well equipped! House with history in a pretty village with a grocery store within walking distance of the house. Amazing view of the bay Brenda is a fabulous host and she made some nice surprises. She even brought us fresh cod. Perfect!

  • Brenda was an amazing host. She is lovely and knows a lot about the surrounding area. Her cottage is just the cutest. Thanks for the Toutons and we did mark the X. We would love to come back one day.

  • We loved the cottage and its interesting history. Loved the decor and all of the special touches throughout this well-kept home. It had all of the amenities and we absolutely loved the view from the deck - stunning! Brenda and her husband provided many unexpected extras including ingredients for a delicious breakfast (including the wonderful Toutons) and homemade blackberry jam. The fridge was stocked with lots of condiments which made cooking easy. Brenda and her husband Harris stopped by to introduce themselves and provided us with both the history of the home and things to do in the area. We really enjoyed our 3 days in this beautiful cottage and would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

  • This Airbnb is fantastic. The location was perfect. It is in Catalina which is great for visiting the surrounding area (Trinity, BonaVista and Catalina itself). The house is gorgeous and has some neat history to it. When we arrived the house was perfectly clean and tidy. The overall style of the house was east coastish and absolutely fabulous. Our host Brenda left us some food for breakfast which was very much appreciated. She also left touton dough, which is a type of pastry native to Newfoundland. We never heard of it before our stay, but were very glad we tried it. Brenda and her husband Harris both gave us great stories and history of the are. This was an over and above type of touch for the Airbnb. This made our stay extra special. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. Totally worth the price, great house, great view out the back deck, great location, and great hosts. 5/5 for this stay, no questions asked.

  • We are a family of 4 from BC. Brenda's place was more than what we expected. All essential amenities are in the cottage to make your stay comfortable. It's clean , cozy and quiet with a view of the water. The central location is a good base if your visiting Ellistion, Bonavista and Trinity area. There are no words to describe Brenda and family awesome Newfoundland hospitality. They provided us with traditional NL food to try, fresh eggs from their own hen's and hot beverages to make a complete breakfast, you seldom get that from an airbnb host. I would highly recommend Brenda's place to anyone visiting the area. Thank you very much Brenda, Harris and Harrison for the memories. Cecilia and family

    Cecilia2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We really loved our time at Brenda's place. Communication with Brenda was fast and easy. Her home was beautiful, modern, very clean and perfectly located for our plans. She went above and beyond for us, from fully stocking the fridge and cupboards (homemade bread, eggs, bacon, milk, bottled water, coffee, etc, even touton dough!). We have a 2 year old son and she even provided age-appropriate toys for him in the house which he (and we) loved. She gave us so many ideas and tips on places to check out in the area, we took all of her suggestions and they didn't disappoint. We had an amazing time and would definitely stay there again and recommend without a doubt.

  • We enjoyed our 3 day stay very much in Rene's house in Trinity. The house has all the amenities you might need except a washer and dryer. The bed we used was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water and the internet was reliable. The house was built in 1850 and it gave us a sense of history and authenticity while staying there. Be sure to hike the beautiful Skerwink Trail in Port Rexton and then grab a beer at the Port Rexton Brewery afterwards. The puffin site in Elliston is not to be missed when the puffins are still there. Unfortunately, we were too late in the season to see them but we enjoyed the Sealers Museum in Elliston while we were in town. A show at the Trinity Rising Tide Theater and dinner at the Artisan Cafe were great too. All in all, Rene's place was a great place to stay in Trinity.

  • We had the most amazing time in Trinity. The house is located right in the middle of town and we could walk every where. There are two great decks, chairs, bbq and comfortable mattresses. Trinity was the highlight of our trip to Newfoundland.

  • Sam’s Historic 1850 is gorgeous, peaceful, comfortable and sparkling clean. We would sit after supper on the front veranda and listen to birds. The perfect place to relax. Rene is an outstanding host and always available for communication. Already looking forward to our next stay.

    Justin2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Trinity is a great spot and Sam's Historic is a great place to stay while there. It was a little tricky to find initially. There is a laneway leading to it right across the road from the Catholic church, the oldest wooden church in NL (1833).

    Randy2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Sam's 1850 is a terrific choice for visiting Trinity & the surrounding area. There are some delightfully idiosyncratic decorative touches that a surprise. The farmhouse reminded my wife & I of those we visited as kids. There were only 3 of us, but it could comfortably sleep 6. The kitchen is equipped to make the basics. One note for the taller folk. The ceiling joists run about 6'3" (1.9 m) to 7'4" (2.23 m), which I found no problem with at 6'4" (1.93 m). The doors are about 5'10" (1.78 m), though, so mind your head! This is typical for houses of this vintage & id's part of the charm. We will definitely stay again if we've a chance to return to Trinity!

Right at the entrance to the famous Skerwink Trail. A fully equipped house from which to base your exploration of Trinity East, Trinity, Port Rexton and the Bonavista Peninsula.
Only one step up from ground level. Well equipped kitchen for cooking. Most staples supplied.
Trinity East is a quiet outport community with easy access to fabulous hiking trails, an awesome restaurant, a spa, a picturesque harbour where large and small fishing boats come and go. The ocean is only a few minutes walk from the Station House
  • We had a thoroughly relaxing and amazing getaway at the Skerwink Station House. The ammeneities, location, and fantastic hosts make this gem a must stay for your travel needs in the beautiful Trinity Bay Area. We will be back soon :)

  • The Station House literally at the entrance to the Skerwink Trail is both a phenomenal location and an airbnb house. Communication with Brenda was excellent. This being our first time to Newfoundland we wished to hear some local music so we asked Brenda if she could recommend a place. We were thrilled with her quick response to a local musician playing that night at Port Rexton Brewing Company. What a fun evening thanks to Brenda's suggestion. We found the Station House so warm, cozy and comfortable. Especially loved the old pictures on the wall referencing the railways of yesteryear and so many wonderful books in her library collection to read. We would highly recommend the Station House and certainly hope to return!

  • Immaculate home, location is ideal, lots of information provided by host that was extremely helpful. We had a wonderful time and are so glad we stayed here.

  • Great location. The cottage is about 20 minutes walk to the brewery and it sits directly at the start of the trail. Just minutes up the trail there was a large blueberry patch, which our children loved. Our stay was lovely. Brenda has everything you need at the cottage. I would highly recommend it. It was perfect for our family of four.

Charming, newly renovated bungalow convenient to hiking trails and the English Harbour Arts Centre. 3 bedrooms, 3 baths, full kitchen, large deck, woodstove. Great location for a family vacation or girls weekend away.
This house is nestled amongst the trees away from traffic and noise. A small bubbling brook runs alongside the house. One can see Trinity Bay over the roof tops of the harbour from the front of the house, and the quiet of a forest and ancient potato garden from the rear. A large deck wraps three sides of the house. An easy ten minute walk to the beach,
English Harbour is a unique community at the end of a road: peaceful and beautiful. The sunsets are extraordinary, the hikes are part of the landscape, the locals are friendly and welcoming, the arts centre offers a gallery and workshops and performances, and there are restaurants and shops and theatre just a short drive away. I love this place!!
  • Very nice, comfortable house in a peaceful place. We loved our stay at Deborah. If you stay here in September, do not forget to pick blueberries.

  • Lovely, clean home in a great location for exploring the peninsula. It has all the comforts of home.

    Jeff2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Deborahs home is completely as advertised. A bright, well appointed space with all the amenities you would need. The lack of TV and WiFi are actually a plus, as the space and setting take over. A true retreat that is both modern and comfortable, without losing any outport charm. Would definitely stay here again. My only add on would be a barbecue. Thanks Deborah, Hope to see you again, Ian

  • Our group of seven (three kids and four adults) loved Deborah's place. We arrived late (due to a terrible accident near Gander) and were a little apprehensive about finding the house in the dark but Deborah's instructions were superb and we had no problem there. We got really lucky with the weather which meant it was a bit warm in the house and we could only admire the stove and not actually use it. Thank you for hosting us, Deborah.

The Skerwink trail steps right off the veranda and was by far one of the best hikes I've been on! We were out twice on whale tours with Sea of Whales Adventures, Kris & Shawna are amazing and the whales were on point with an incredible show! Our evening at the Rising Tide Theater was great too! Trinity has something for everyone and this cottage puts you in easy access of it all! Thank you Brenda for a wonderful first Airbnb experience! You went above and beyond and we fully appreciated your efforts! Cant wait to be back!

Elderberry Suite is a studio suite with queen bed, sleeper sofa, kitchenette, dining table, ensuite bath, and private entrance with deck. This dog-friendly unit is in Rosewood Suites, a heritage property in the heart of the historic town of Trinity. Spend your days taking in spectacular vistas, historic sites, and tours and fill your evenings with local cuisine and live theatre. Relax, refresh, and recharge in our newly restored property in one of Newfoundland’s best preserved outports.
We have a reception room on the main floor and offer daily housekeeping for your suite. There are other short-term vacation rental suites in the same building. There is a common coffee/tea/water station for all guests to use and a landline phone available, as well. Other common areas for all guests include: front porch with rocking chairs, back deck with BBQ grill and seating, backyard. The side deck in photos is for guests of Elderberry Suite.
Trinity is so walkable and a great town to explore on foot. We have maps and suggestions of our favourite things to see and do!
  • We stayed in the Elderberry Suite, which had a separate entrance, deck and parking space. Michele was there to greet us when we arrived. The suite had a queen bed with duvet, blanket and quilt, and lots of pillows. Linens and towels are first rate, and the water pressure in the shower was great. Kitchenette was perfect for two. There was a binder with lots of 'how to' information and sheet with a detailed map of Trinity on one side, showing restaurants, shops and historic sites, and on the other side, a map of the surrounding area. There was also a coffee/tea station in the main part of the building. Everything was sparkling when we arrived. Pretty much everything in town was within a max 10-15 minute direct walk. The one thing people should know about Trinity (not specific to Rosewood Suites) is that there are no grocery or convenience stores in town, the closest is in Port Rexton. So if you wanted snacks or pop, or something to make for a meal, I recommend picking it up before driving into Trinity. We would not hesitate to return!

It is close enough to walk to some Port Rexton attractions (brewery, cafe), and also well situated for visiting the general area (Bonavista, etc.). The host was very easy/quick to communicate with via text and Airbnb. Overall I cannot fault anything and I would definitely stay here again.

  • I really enjoyed Valerie & Gary’s place! The location is so peaceful & also a quick car ride to all of the touristy things! I loved hanging out on the back porch last night, in the rocker! It’s beautiful here in English harbour & the sunsets over the ocean are top notch! I loved having a kitchen & a big bathroom with a jacuzzi! Gary was really kind to me & helped me when I got lost! It’s wise to check in in the daylight if you’re not from the area. He’s also really informative & knowledgeable about the area. The bed is comfy! The room is cute & the hospitality is lovely! A lot of little touches that make things extra special! It’s so nice to have coffee & breakfast too! I’ll be back one day. Great experience!! Thanks Gary!

  • Beautiful home. I miss it already. I could stay there for MUCH longer than 3 nights. Great spot. Loved the kitchen. Loved the big bathroom. Coziest place I've been in to date. Can't wait to come back in the future! Great hosts. Communicate quickly AND are some of the most warmest, friendliest people ever. They even shared flour with me (because I forgot to buy some at the store to dust my cod tongues with) and birthday cake! They also showed me pics of this spring's icebergs. Also, if you're a fan of the movie, The Grand Seduction, like I am, Gary your host, had a role in the movie! :)

    Jennifer2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • So good! Generous breakfast fixings in the small kitchen shared with another pair of guests. Four kinds of cold cereal, bagels, jam and cream cheese. Home made muffins. Apples! The host found us the NFL football game on the TV and the jacuzzi was a luxury. English Harbour is beautiful! I’m so glad we stayed there.

  • This was a great place to stay. Valerie and Gary were wonderful. The room was lovely and I really enjoyed all of the extra touches found in the room. I really recommend staying at least two nights. We stayed 3 and I wish we had booked more. Their place is in a perfect location to everything (we did 3 shows at the theatre in Trinity) but staying in English Harbour was perfect as it took us away from streets and put us in a community where not only our hosts were wonderful but so were the neighbours. We walked the fields across from the house, meandered to the beach to watch the activity on the water and returned in the evening when the neighbours were making a bonfire and we all gathered around at the water’s edge. The crowning glory were the stars - away from the town/village lights, the stars were spectacular. Thanks again for the wonderful time!

If you have time, some whale watching and hiking on the Skerwink trail are must-do activities! We are happy to provide accommodations to anyone interested in visiting this unique place we call home. :)

  • We really enjoyed our stay in the Evergreen Suite. The room is spacious, beautifully decorated and the beds are really comfy. There is a large private bathroom with a nice shower and big comfy towels. The place is a 3 minute drive into Trinity, and right around the corner from Port Rexton. Michele was awesome and gave us the lowdown about the best restaurants and activities in the area. She is very welcoming and left some snacks in the bedroom and brought freshly baked treats each morning. Although it’s a room in a house, we felt like we very much had our own space and it was very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again!

From the basket of baked goods every morning to the fluffy bath towels and weather updates, Michele goes above and beyond to make sure you have the best stay. She even had juice and special treats ready for our kids upon arrival. We especially enjoyed the quiet mornings on the back deck with our coffee, made fresh right from our room. Don't hesitate to book this place!

  • Michele and Michel are so kind and hospitable. We had a beautiful, large room that was more than enough for 3 of us and could easily fit a 4th person. There is a large, private separate bathroom and even your own balcony. The location is perfect and easily accessible to Trinity. This place is a gem and we will be back in the future for sure!

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Michelle's place. The home was fully equipped and super clean throughout. No complaints what so ever. The view was absolutely beautiful. Everything was better than we expected.

Modern coastal style meets old world charm. Mintbrook is a classic example of a traditional Newfoundland Salt Box House and dates back to the 1860’s. Mintbrook Cottage has recently been renovated and is conveniently only stumbling distance from Port Rexton Brewery.
Mintbrook is a super cozy salt box house with a modern coastal feel. Every window on the front of the house has a stunning view over Port Rexton and out to Trinity Bay. Both of our two individually styled queen bedrooms have beautiful ocean views and super comfy beds. The third bedroom has more flexibility with 1 twin bed and an additional twin trundle bed. There is a large bathroom upstairs with a shower as well as a bath. Downstairs is another bathroom with a shower. The cosy kitchen has everything you need to cook up a storm during your stay. Connected to the Kitchen is a dining room that can seat 6 comfortably. Mintbrook also has a super cute living room where you can sit and enjoy the view whilst drinking awesome craft beers from Port Rexton Brewery. Feel free to use the house Growler if you fancy bringing some draft beer back with you to the house.
Located in the beautiful town of Port Rexton and super close to the Two Whales Coffee Shop, MintBrook has uninterrupted views of the Ocean, Port Rexton and Fox Island. MintBrook is just a 10min walk along the beach to Port Rexton Brewery. Whales and Icebergs can both be seen from MintBrook Cottage during late spring and summer. Also walking distance to the Fishers Loft and only a short drive to Trinity and all the other beautiful communities in the Trinity Bight area. Bonavista, Elliston and Port Union are all less than a 30min drive away.

  • Really clean and cozy house in a perfect location. The house has everything you need and it's right next door to the sweetest coffee shop (plus a short walk to the Port Rexton brewery). Beds were comfortable, area was super quiet. Excellent overall, would definitely book again!

  • An adorable stay. Immaculately decorated and very comfortable and clean. Wifi wasn’t working during our stay and we overlooked the lack of TV however the board games were a lovely touch and the view was stunning. Thankyou

  • Adam and Lisa’s place is absolutely ADORABLE! It’s centrally locates in Port Rexton, a stone’s throw away from Two Whale’s Coffee (mmmm), and has an amazing view of the bay. They have done a fantastic job renovating - it is a perfect mix of a traditional Newfoundland home but with all the modern touches. It is super clean and bright, but also cozy. Check in/out was a breeze as well. Highly recommend; we hope to visit again soon! 10/10! :)

  • Our stay at MintBrook cottage was more than we hoped! The view from the front balcony was truly spectacular. The home is beautifully decorated and very cozy. There were 6 guests staying in the home and having two showers was a huge asset. Plus the washer and dryer with laundry detergent on hand. The home had everything you would need to cook a meal plus a BBQ. There was even coffee in cupboard to brew. The towels were super fluffy and the beds were so comfy. Plus some board games available which was nice. Adam was very responsive to any questions we had. Directions made it easy to find the home and it was super easy to get access to the house. My only regret was that we didn’t book another night to just soak in the beauties of the view and enjoy the home. So much to do in the area! Great job Adam and Lisa! We so enjoyed our stay!

We provide coffee/tea and continental breakfast in room (Jumping Bean coffee, fresh baked goods, cheese, yoghurt and fruit).

  • This is a wonderful place, the room is great, the little touches in the room and the treats left outside really made the trip enjoyable. Michelle is a wonderful host, and a little puppy love makes your day.
