Secluded by trees, this privacy makes this glamping experience very popular with our guests. It has all the facilities for visitors to enjoy the outdoors. Our four acre Smallholding is peaceful and away from traffic noise. It is suitable for those who want a break from everyday life , maybe eat out locally and explore the beauty of Shropshire. The private kitchen is fully equipped with sink, a two ring burner grill and undercover dining area. It is spacious with table and chairs, cupboards for food, a cool box. Just bring food and drink. It has all the possibilities for a unique camping activity, BBQ cooking, relaxing by a campfire, enjoying your own food and wine , maybe staying up late to watch the stars and getting back to nature, in a private setting. The nearby working smallholding is organic, off grid and selfsuficient in meat and veg. Roz and Phil will be around to make sure you are comfortable and have all you need, but we will leave you to enjoy your own area. This interesting and inspiring site also has a vintage air stream caravan(1970) a show wagon (1947) and a craft hut built as a shepherds hut. Roz's Craft hut is popular with guests who have a similar inclination and you may book a craft session on arrival. Bring tea lights to provide a romantic setting, also if you bring a good torch or camping lantern it would be useful.
You will be in a beautiful peaceful location. We are located in the countryside amongst cycle trails and lanes. There are nearby popular tourist locations, designer outlet, towpath walks, pretty towns, historic castles, walled towns and there is so much to see and visit in the surrounding area. Shropshire is a magical county and there is something for everyone. We will be happy to give you lots ideas of places to visit. We can recommend some lovely restaurants, towns, castles, walks and places of interest. We are a drive away from Ironbridge and not too far from the Shropshire Hills, an area of outstanding beauty.
  • This place if just amazing. Even better than in photos. It is a beautiful, hidden and secluded area tucked away, it is out in the country side and you cannot hear cars or the hustle and bustle of the city life. The hosts are super welcoming and homely, they are more than happy to help you when ever you need anything but still give you peace and quiet, they are not intrusive. You need to see what they have done to create their perfect small holding. There is lots of wildlife so you will never feel alone. I cannot recommend this place enough, i would strongly suggest weekend away here for anyone. Thank you so much Roz & Phil!!!!

  • Ros and Phil have the most lovely place with each accommodation as quirky and amazing as the next. Communication was effective and they were very willing to answer any questions we had. Check in was easy as we were greeted by Ros and Phil at the gate. They gave us a tour and showed us to our area. My partner and I stayed in the gypsy caravan, which was really well kept and had clean sheets and pillows for us. The kitchen hut was fab and was where we spent most of our time (due to the rain). It was eqipped with literally everything we could have possibly needed and even a few games. The area was secluded and we had our own toilet and shower, which was amazing as you could still see outside when showering. We loved every minute of our stay despite the awful weather. Thanks again Ros and Phil, no doubt you'll see us again next year. Jane and Chris

  • Fully recommend this place. It is beautiful, unique and the hosts are lovely.

    Joshus2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place. The gypsy caravan is so gorgeous and the site is really secluded. The eggs they gave us were delicious too ! Totally recommend

    Meg2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Roslyn and Phil were the best hosts! They welcomed us and kindly waited for us, who were a bit later than the usual check-in time. We loved the place...peaceful, in nature and romantic! We enjoyed the company of hens, guinea fowl, a little mouse and squirrels...a bit like in a fairy tale. Other guests were present on-site, but far enough to have our privacy. We would love to be back there!

  • From start to end, amazing hosts, cutest place, tranquility at is finest, in a lovely country side, surrounded by wildlife and nature's beauty. Couldnt ask for better

    Lorian2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • If you want peace and quiet and to be 'away from it all' then this is the place for you. We very much enjoyed the eccentricity of this set up and being off-grid. It won't be for everyone but it suited us perfectly. (Although there were excellent facilities for preparing your own food we decided to eat out at The Dickin Arms at Loppington about 5 mins away (not the one in Wem). The food was superb.)

    Chris2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • The gypsy wagon is absolutely adorable, it rained for almost our entire stay and we still had a wonderful time playing boggle, eating hot food and having wine by the fire in the kitchen area. We loved having the voles to keep us company too! Bring a duvet and blankets as it can get a bit cold in the mornings but we were warm and comfy, we slept really well. The whole site is beautiful and we were so impressed with all of Roz and Phil’s work!

  • We had a great stay at Grahams at the weekend. It's conveniently located for Shrewsbury and we were able to walk into the centre for the evening. He organised a really efficient check-in process and the little apartment is spotless, stylish and has everything you might need. It's quite likely we'll ask to stay again next time we visit Shrewsbury!

  • Our second visit and just as amazing as the first time. Our own little private space to enjoy the outdoors without missing out on any creature comforts. The Silo was so lovely and comfortable with a beautiful view of the pond. You cant beat sitting by the fire at night listening to the wildlife come alive around you. Perfect romantic getaway for nature lovers to relax. Thanks again Roz and Phil x

  • We had a wonderful stay with Roz and Phil, they were so friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The work they've done to build such a unique place is incredible. Perfect for anyone looking for peace, tranquillity and a bit of quirkiness. We will definitely be back.

    Luke2019-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great quirky place with fabulous hosts Roz and Phil. Roz and Phil were always there if needed, they also charged my phone and iPad for me. They have so many interesting stories to tell and love showing you around the place. We stayed in the silo, it was basic but comfortable. The separate kitchen and bathroom facilities were clean and basic but with everything you needed. The accomadation was stocked with games and books for a rainy day. This place is secluded and rural, so remember to stock up on food and other supplies or be prepared to drive. When Roz and Phil can help they are most obliged to give you charcoal and fire lighters if they have them also wood is available to purchase from them to use in your own private fire pit! Very relaxing and chilled weekend. I had a crochet lesson with Roz, I'm happy I can now crochet with the basics but with Rozs book 'Crochet for beginners' I will be knitting scarves in no time! Thanks for a lovely weekend we will definitely be staying st some point over the school holiday.

  • Absolutely fantastic accommodation and facilities. Has everything you could need for a peaceful getaway. Great that there is an additional private kitchen and Toilet\Shower. If you are after privacy and seclusion in a beautiful spot then this is the place. Phil and Roz were very welcoming and were on hand to answer ant questions etc. We had a lovely peaceful weekend and would definitely recommend The Acorns.

    Jon2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Had such a fantastic stay in the silo/gypsy caravan! Roz and Phil are some of the nicest, most interesting people we've met, which most definitely made the experience even better. If you are looking to escape and competely get back to nature, then this place will give you that and more. The silo is so unique and fun, with a lovely pound view. The separate kitchen area is a great space, we loved the glass windows Phil had made. Thank you once again for the great hospitality and the marrow/jam, they were delicious. Xx

  • Great communication throughout. Lovely place to stay, clean tidy and cosy. Attention to detail leaving milk, biscuits and bread was much appreciated and a lovely touch. Thank you.

    Helen2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay at Beverley’s. The place was warm and cosy and had great added touches like blankets and essentials. All very clean and tidy and plenty of space for all of the stuff we brought along. Comfy beds and good sheets, all seemed lovely quality. She left the heating and a light on for us for arrival which was perfect. Really quick communication as I had left it a little last minute for a few things. I would definitely stay here again, we all had a great stay.

    Megan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

    André2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay and had a really relaxing time for 10days. The area is really friendly and everything you need. Beverley is very helpful and she added little touches to the place that makes it special.... flowers, tea, coffee, new soap, bread, butter etc... It's also nice to see that owners aren't using the cheapest things to fill the house but treat it as if they are living there, that's what Beverley has done. Outstanding. Thank you again, I will definitely stay again and reccomend!!

We are a North Shropshire farm with a flock of 100 pedigree Llanwenog sheep. We also have stabling and paddocks for up to 12 horses for our DIY livery yard. This is a very rural area with many small family farms.
English Frankton is an ancient village listed in the Doomsday book. It is only a half hour drive from the medieval city of Shrewsbury which provides visitors with a host of places to visit such as the Castle, the Abbey (extensively described by Ellis Peters in her fictional books on Cadfael, the detective monk), as well as shops and restaurants. The Shropshire canal nearby in Ellesmere provides walking and day boat hire or why not hire a bike from Mere cycles and explore the surrounding countryside and the canal tow paths. If you fancy something more strenuous why not climb Wales' highest peak, Snowdon, which is only a 2 hour drive away or go south into the Shropshire hills and the Long Mynd or even white water raft down the Dee river in Llangollen. Then of course there is the Pontcysyllte aqueduct, the longest canal aqueduct in Great Britain and the highest canal aqueduct in the world. In short there are a whole host of activities to do in this beautiful part of England.
Loppington is our nearest village where you can enjoy a meal or just refreshments at the Dickin Arms. It has the only remaining bull ring in North Shropshire which was used for bull baiting until the 19th century. Cockshutt is about 2 miles away with the Leaking Tap public house providing meals and refreshment.
  • Lovey warm cabin. Will be back again for sure.

  • Lesley and Ed’s place was perfect for us. The cottage is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Lesley, Ed and Bill are super friendly and we loved the fresh eggs. Our kids had a great time, there is huge garden with the secret tree house ...

    Heidi2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Oak cottage, which exceeded our expectations. The cottage was extremely clean, spacious and well equipped. The children thoroughly enjoyed the vast space outside to run around and play, including playing hide and seek in the enclosed woodland and finding the hidden tree house. Thank you to Ed and Lesley and Bill and Janice who had thought of everything, including providing some outdoor game equipment for the children. They were on hand to help with any queries we had and happily helped to fix our car when we found we had a flat tyre one morning! The wi-fi wasn't working very well when we were there but we were assured that it was about to be upgraded. We would definitely recommend Newton Meadows Cottages.

  • The first thing I thought when I saw the flat was "I wish we were staying longer" It is a great space and the whole place is sparkling clean. The bathroom and kitchen are especially lovely. The location is fantastic - right in the centre of Shrewsbury so everything is right on the doorstep. If we go back to Shrewsbury again this will be one of the first Airbnb properties we will be checking for availability.

    Kathryn2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This flat is brilliantly central for Shrewsbury. Everywhere was a really easy walk. We drove across the river and parked on a quiet residential street so didn’t have to pay for parking. Plenty of space in the flat. Wi-fi was good Bed was comfy. Bathroom small but perfectly formed. Finding tea, coffee and sugar when we arrived was really helpful. We just had to pop out for a pint of milk and we were all set. Key pick up was easy. Sue met us at exactly the right time, exactly where expected and showed us how everything worked. Key drop off was simple too. If you’re eating out, The Olive Tree - 5 minute walk over the river - was absolutely brilliant with great cocktails, lovely tapas and a sun trap outdoor space with blankets and shade. Lovely. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Several pubs, restaurants and cafes are within a 10 minute walk. The location is ideal for exploring the north and West of Wales together with Cheshire and Shropshire. This property is conveniently situated close to the town's main bus stop providing links to Shrewsbury and Gobowen railway station. A lovely area to explore.

Ellesmere is a quaint English market town near the Welsh border. It is a quiet town but there are often events going on especially on the weekends. There are a number of pubs and restaurants within walking distance of the property and a visit to the nearby Cremorne gardens, by the Mere, is a must. Ellesmere is a fantastic place for walking and cycling - and leaflets recommending routes are kept in the cottage.
  • Great stay lovely place

    Emma2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cosy cottage. Great situation with everything you could need for a great stay.

    Stephen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful venue. A beautiful little cottage, situated only a short walk from the centre of Ellesmere and the Mere itself. Well equipped house, particularly for those with small children. Nice little touches, like the selection of teas provided as well as cooking basics. The very responsive host even replied to my questions late at night quickly. The only drawback I can think of is that the drive is a bit narrow; there is, however, on-street parking nearby if you struggle to get your car in. A thoroughly pleasant stay and a great host. Thank you!

    Adam2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place with everything you need for a comfortable stay and a very helpful host. We really appreciated Pip's flexibility with our potentially changing plans. The parking space is a little tight, but we managed it in one go with Ford Fiesta :)

  • Very well equipped including baby facilities; toys; board games; radios. Very efficient central heating. Great size shower cabinet. Separate dining room. Pretty, quaint location within 'olde worlde' small town by the beautiful Mere RSBP (Water fowl)with play area, Visitors Centre and choice of cafe and excellent restaurant.

  • We loved our stay at Charlotte's Web, the cottage is cosy with a great well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds and everything we needed for our short stay. We met Pip in her shop where we popped in for some lovely tasty treats, and she was super lovely and helpful. Thanks to her top tips we finally mastered (in in one!) the parking space on our final night!

    Roz2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is warm and cosy, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Shower is good and strong.

  • Charlotte's Web is a clean, cosy cottage close to all amenities. Pip was very helpful and welcoming. We had a lovely couple of days away and would recommend Ellesmere to anyone visiting Shropshire. Beautiful walks, friendly people and great places to eat. Do pop into Moolah, a shop containing delicious produce and a few locally made crafts.

    Kim2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The location is ideal for the town centre so you can pop back easily and only steps away from shops and restaurants. The flat is up several outside steps and a staircase but it is worth it for the rooftop view and peace from any street level noise. The flat is recently renovated to a high standard and well equipped. Highly recommended.

  • We had an amazing time at The Granary! The whole experience was so easy and so relaxing. From the lovely accommodation, to the huge book of tips for the local area and information we might need, the whole trip was just perfect. The spa was so relaxing, and it was amazing to be able to go for a swim everyday. It wasn't busy at all, and we had the pool to ourselves most of the time, managing to share it with the other guests on site. The location is perfect, and only 20 minutes outside of Shrewsbury. We will definitely be back again!

    Ellen2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful place in a spectacular rural setting, close to many attractions. The on-site spa is a wonderful extra. Rachel could not have been more hospitable, the cottage and its contents were spotless and everything necessary was provided. The whole experience was a model of how great airbnb can be at its best. Just one note: the Granary (one of the three cottages on site) is up a steep flight of outdoor steps and would be difficult for anyone mobility impaired.

  • Sam’s place is a lovely, comfortable, clean and stylish double room with private entrance, private bathroom and private parking in the idyllic location of a small village close to beautiful Shrewsbury. It’s ideal for anybody visiting friends or family or holidaying in the area who don’t need a kitchen/living space but would like the privacy of their own entrance. The place was wonderful for our short two-night stay over New Year’s Eve. We drove to North Wales for hiking and visited friends for NYE in Shrewsbury. The location was perfect. We appreciated the Christmas decorations, generous tea & coffee supplies, cosy central heating, comfortable bed and quiet, private setting via the back courtyard of Sam’s cottage. Sam’s directions and communications were also clear, accurate and timely! Highly recommended.

Battle Bessie is a unique ammunition wagon which served her country for 21 years. She has been lovingly converted to a 1940s home front style complete with four poster bed, vintage kitchen and shower room. She is located less than 3o minutes from historic Shrewsbury in the pretty rural village of Northwood Shropshire. There are two village pubs within walking distance.
All bedding is included, as is towels and some toiletries. The bed is full size double but does have a footboard. There are three steps to access the bed as the drawers and cupboards are located underneath the bed.
There are two village pubs within walking distance. The market towns of Ellesmere, Wem, and Whitchurch are within easy reach, 5 minutes by car. The historic nature reserve of Whixall moss is within walking distance as is colemere. We are also within easy reach of Chester and North Wales.
  • Such an amazing location , so very peaceful ! A truly sturdy , homely , cosy tranquil place to stay . Nothing is to much trouble for the hosts , don’t take our word for it , spoil yourselves and give it a go, we will must certainly be returning !

  • Bessie is so cosy and inviting! We had such a beautiful relaxing weekend here! Lovely bottle of wine on arrival and breakfast provided was a bonus! Very private and so cool waking up to see the little ponies in the paddock across from us!! The local pub is just down the road and the food is amazing!! Would stay again!!

    Arielle2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • As everyone else has said, this is certainly quirky. I was so looking forward to it and was not disappointed. Bessie is thoughtfully renovated and a bit of a tardis really - much larger inside than out. We were cosy and warm as we enjoyed the local wine after a meal at the pub along the road. Lots of interesting things to read and look at in Bessie, we loved it. Horses and ponies in the next field and a dawn chorus to wake us up. Brilliant. Sean and Alison were very welcoming. I really hope to return for longer.

    Lesley2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • A very unique stay! Clear directions are given which really helps. Worth noting that it's located on a field so, worth thinking and checking the weather incase your at struggles! Bessie was very clean and very homley. The bed is so comfy and plenty of space! The extra touches like towels and toiletries are brilliant and save on the packing. Really unique little stay and we will definitely be back again when we can use the facilities properly, like the BBQ! The complimentary wine was also delicious! Thanks very much !!

We had an incredible thunderstorm during the night but stayed cosy and dry with the sound of the rain on the roof just adding to the experience. The location is so peaceful and tranquil with no light or sound pollution. Very highly recommended.

  • We were spending the weekend in the area and needed a place to stay. Nearby hotels seemed a little overpriced so we decided to look on Airbnb and found this little converted barn. The Wright family were very friendly, hospitable and easy to get in touch with any questions. The place was clean, tidy and had all the amenities we needed for the night. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a nice and quiet stay away from the city!

    Joel2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Clare’s place is great and highly recommended - we had a fab weekend! It’s a brand new converted roof space above the garage so away from the main house with a private entrance. The room is spacious, light and beautifully decorated with a comfy king bed and lovely sofa and 3 windows with great views. Superclean separate bathroom with excellent shower. TV & Wifi. Tea/Coffee/Croissants/Jam (kettle & toaster) were provided and we ate breakfast on the table and chairs in their fabulous garden. Loppington is a tiny pretty village with a very nice pub. They weren’t serving evening meals over bank holiday but there are lots of lovely villages a couple of miles away so plenty of choice (tho need to drive really) – we ate at Junoon Indian restaurant in Wem, the Sun Inn at Welshampton & the Red Lion at Ellesmere and would recommend all of them. Loppington is a great base to explore Shropshire – we did loads of easy walking in picture perfect countryside and alongside canal. Thanks Clare! Would definitely return.

  • At Joe's place, guests can expect privacy in a relaxed environment. Joe's home is in walking distance from the Spar and the New Inn gastro pub (the pork belly was delicious). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can comfortably recommended it.

    Laki2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • A really nice cottage, comfortable walking distance to the village's shop and two pubs serving food. Joe was away at the time I was there but the key was in the key safe and she'd left me a note explaining where I could lock my bike away. She had also left some milk in the fridge and invited me to help myself to tea and coffee, which was a nice touch. A great place to stay for the evening after my long bike ride - thoroughly recommended.

This rare caravan is an incredible 44 years old, it is waterproof, it is newly painted on the outside and inside has a 'dolls house' appeal. Very cute and cosy. Hiring this little caravan is intended as a 'step back in time' experience. You will be using teacups and vintage crockery. There will be battenburg and marshmallow cakes and old fashioned humbugs. Bed and light breakfast will be served as opposed to self catering. We can provide a pie and peas supper, afternoon tea or we can recommend excellent places to eat out. Sleeping bags are provided with separate clean sheet liner and and pillows with clean cases.
The caravan is situated on our small lawned area. We also feature a 1970 Airstream Caravan and a 1947 show wagon. Further down the field are unique and quirky Glamping units including a gypsy Bow Top, a Hoopla Stall Tent and Grain Silo, both carpeted and furnished with a double bed.

The annex at 44 Belvidere Road in Shrewsbury is part of our large detached family home, but completely separate with its own entrance door. All newly refurbished with oak floors and doors, new kitchen and bathroom and new carpet in the bedroom. We are situated in a nice residential area to the east side of the medieval town of Shrewsbury.. Large discount for 7 night bookings, discounts sometimes available for 3 nights or more. Please contact us for availability.
Perfect for solo travellers, couples and can also accommodate 4 people at a squeeze. The bathroom is situated off the bedroom, so maybe not ideal for 2 couples, but fine for a family with children who are happy to share the sofa bed while on holiday. It has a well equipped kitchen with a Bosch electric oven and Bosch gas hob, integrated fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, microwave, kettle and toaster. Everything you need to cater for yourselves is included (except food!) We have parking available on our spacious drive and amenities close at hand (Sainsbury's Local, several pubs and the Lord Hill Hotel are all within a 10 minute walk). If you're planning on visiting for business then the Shirehall is a 5 minute walk and the Shrewsbury Business Park is a short drive away.
We live in a nice residential area and expect guests to treat our neighbours and surrounding areas with respect.
  • Great communications with the host. Perfectly located for visiting Shrewsbury town centre and if you go out at night there it’s only £4.70 in a cab and just a few mins drive. • Great room with lovely, quiet seating area outside. Bed was comfy and everything I needed was provided. Would stay again.

    Jon2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. The room is very very well equipped for everything you need and it's in a really nice location. And it has underfloor heating which was nice! I came with my dog, there were lots of nice dog walks nearby and a short walk into town, but it is a £10 charge for pets. Would definitely recommend though and would stay there again, and Nicky is a really nice host and check in check out, and communication was perfect.

    Anna2019-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and facilities for single use. (note-the room can be linked to adjacent accommodation). The room was comfortable, clean, and cosy during this cold spell. I was impressed with Nick’s choice of ground coffee offered in the accommodation.

    Sheila2019-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nicky’s place was easy to find, even at night. Check in and check out was straight forward too. The property is self contained and very comfortable indeed. The space is spotlessly clean and well equipped. There is parking and I felt safe within the property. I recommend Nicky’s place a 100% 👍🏽

    Rose2018-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Great little studio, has everything you need and very clean. Nicky is lovely and she was on hand when I needed help. Only downside was a £10 charge for a dog and a small bed, but made up for by the excellent location. It’s next to the mere and walking distance to town, and easy to travel by car to other local lakes and walks.

We are situated in the picturesque countryside outside the market town of Wem. It is very peaceful and a perfect holiday location with many fascinating locations nearby to explore; the busy county town of Shrewsbury with its river life and independent shops and plenty of places to eat out, the Wilfred Owen birthplace at Oswestry and also the world heritage site of the Pontcysllte Aquaduct at Llangollen to name but a few.
The Stableroom offers you a private living space with both a double bed and a single bed. It has a roomy en suite shower room. There is a TV, DVD player and a selection of DVD's plus a radio cassette with tapes. Tea and coffee making facilities and a microwave are available for your use. You can also cook on the BBQ. There is also an outdoor table tennis table and a beautiful garden in which to relax. A further double room is available in the house for bigger groups and for visitors who only want a one night stay.
Our house is on a country lane near the little market town of Wem where there is a supermarket and plenty of smaller shops such as greengrocers, butchers, grocers to buy provisions. There are also several cafes and tea rooms plus take-aways and a fish and chip shop. The Castle Hotel on the main street has an evening menu (excluding Sundays) and there are a number of restaurants and take aways. It takes only 20 minutes to walk into Wem on the Shropshire Way across the fields and therefore is popular with those guests who want to take a walk with their dog. The area is full of lovely places to hike both in the hills and along the Shropshire Union Canal and by the meres at Ellesmere and Colemere.
  • Lovely place and really cosy for a couple to use as a base to explore the beautiful surroundings. Gabrielle and Tim are so helpful and I would highly recommend. We will definitely use again when we are up this end.

    Gail2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Well what can I say....... Highly recommend Brilliant host Lovely countryside walks with your dog The stableroom is a little chocolate box hidden away in the country! LOVED IT AND WILL BE BACK !

  • Cosy room in quiet location. Easy to find with friendly hosts. Gabrielle responded quickly and we were able to book at short notice. Great place for a short break. Only a mile into Wem for food and shops.

    Vanessa2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely welcome at the Stableroom and really enjoyed our brief stay, which was perfect for our needs. Gabrielle and her husband were great hosts who'd even thought of a bottle of milk for the mini-fridge. We'd already planned our onward travel, but the local tips were great and I've filed them in the brainbox for another time in the area; and I've been inspired to grow fennel next year.

    Daniel2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Gabrielle's place, nice and cosy but spacious for us including baby and 2 dogs!

  • This place is amazing, by far the best Airbnb I have stayed in so far. It’s huge for a 1 bed place, no expense spared on fittings and fixtures and very comfortable and cozy. My 1 little niggle is the Wi-Fi is very hit and miss and phone signal is virtually non existent. They quality of the place out weighs this though and the homemade Victoria sponge Tracey leaves is OMG.

Ellesmere is a beautiful place to visit, it is in the country side with lots to do in the surrounding areas. The Mere in Ellesmere is a legacy created by the retreating ice age and subsequent melt water some 10,000 years ago (Global warming?) and is the largest of nine meres and mosses to be found in this unique landscape. Covering over 48 hectares - that's over 70 football pitches - and some 19 metres deep, The Mere provides a home to an abundance of wildlife. During the Summer months Rowing Boats are available for hire. The Mere was given a Green Flag Award – the mark of a quality park or green space in the UK – to recognise and reward being one of the best green spaces in the country. The Mere, which attracts over 240,000 visitors a year, was named amongst 1,476 parks, cemeteries, universities, shopping centres and community gardens that have met the high standard needed to receive the Award . Wood Lane Nature Reserve A disused industrial site, now a haven for birds One of the best bird-watching sites in Shropshire, Wood Lane Nature Reserve has been developed in recent years on worked-out industrial land, Tudor Griffiths Group’s old sand and gravel workings near Ellesmere. Several large lagoons with islands and surrounding wetland make up the reserve, which is surrounded here by a working landscape with mountainous heaps of sand providing a backdrop – and also the perfect nesting opportunity for hundreds of pairs of sand martins. Landfill and quarrying activities take place adjacent to the reserve.
  • Amazing little cabin. Beautiful location and the cabin itself is perfect. Lots of thoughtful touches that were much appreciated. The hot tub was really nice to relax in even with the chilly weather! Would love to stay again.

Charming country private annex at Corner Farm. Situated at the top of Petton with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. We welcome walkers, cyclists, equestrians, and those who would just like a quiet and relaxing retreat.
Our gorgeous country annex hosts a double bedroom with the flexibility of an additional double sofa bed within the open plan lounge, allowing couples, children, or a small group of friends to stay. The annex is opened up with double french doors into the open plan self-catered kitchen and lounge. A welcome basket will be provided on arrival. There is easy wheelchair access throughout. We regularly host equestrian retreats allowing clients to bring their horses for coaching or hacking around numerous bridleways in the glorious countryside. Guests have access to shared washing machine facilities.
Petton is a sleepy hamlet located in rural North Shropshire which is famous for its canals, meres, mosses, historical sites and beautiful countryside. There has been a settlement in the area since Saxon times, and it is mentioned in the Doomsday book. We are just 11 miles from the picturesque town of Shrewsbury where you can enjoy drinks by the river or a night at the theatre, and 8 miles from the market town of Ellesmere, where you can spend a lovely afternoon walking around the meres. We are surrounded by delicious award-winning country pubs and restaurants, which we can reserve a table for you in advance as they are extremely popular.
  • Great stay and great place, will visit again and highly recommend.

My place is close to the town centre, railway station and bus station. You’ll love my place because of the large comfy bed, you have your own space and it's great value. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers. See our other listings - we also have a single bed and a double bed in our house listed on Airbnb, so can accommodate larger groups.
This is a 2 berth touring caravan which is parked in the front garden of our house. It has a large and comfortable double bed, wardrobe and cupboard space and cooking facilities in the form of a microwave and hob. There is heating and electric lighting, a kettle and toaster. There is a chemical toilet, for night time emergencies, and guests are welcome to use the bathroom, shower and toilet in the house. There is wireless fibre broadband available to guests at no extra charge. There is off road parking in the driveway. The house stands near a main road, so guests must be aware that there is some traffic noise, especially in the morning. This is not the Ritz, so is relatively basic accommodation, however this is reflected in the price.
The house is about 20 minutes walk from the town centre, 15 minutes walk from the station, and on a regular bus route to both. There is the Dolphin Inn, a great local pub, about 5 minutes walk away, where they serve real ales and a good range of food. There is a corner shop (One Stop) about 5 minutes away, a Tesco Express about 8 minutes away and a large supermarket (Morrisons) about 15 - 20 minutes on foot. We are also within a 5 minute walk of three Chinese takeaways, an Indian takeaway, a chip shop & a Pizza Hut takeaway. We are also very close to Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings, the first iron framed building in the world. This has a Visitors Centre, which is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm from March to October. It's well worth a visit!
  • Good value for money. Easy going and free. Close enough to walk to town in ten to fifteen minutes. Private caravan is cool. If you are sensitive to traffic be aware it is on main road. Didn't bother me too much though.

  • Exactly what it says on the tin. Cosy little space in the front garden. I was there during the worst storms and in years. So it was noisy at times which is completely to be expected but was always, warm dry and cosy. A pleasant week’s stay in a quirky vintage caravan. Richard explain everything in a v friendly manner and was always at hand even though I didn’t really need it! would definitely stay again if visiting Shrewsbury again!

    Craig2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great value and great hosts

    Jan2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Richard was a very welcoming and accommodating, even when I turned up later than I anticipated. The caravan is what it is, but is very clean and warm, toilet facilities are ok, I didn’t make use of the facilities in Richards home so can’t comment on these. But I would definitely use Richard’s place again.

    Phillip2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Close to town ! :)

    Melna2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • Richard's caravan is warm and toasty, and very well equipped. The bed was really comfy. They are friendly people. We would love to come back here one day. Thanks

    Laura2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is the second time we’ve stayed with Richard and he is a brilliant host. The space was clean and warm and it is really close to the town centre. Highly recommendable

This charming little terrace house , is situated on the banks of the river Severn loop, which is only a few minutes walk from the beautiful town centre of Shrewsbury. I recently redecorated, creating a home from home feel sharing some of my art and pieces from our travels around the world. Coleham has a village feel, which is well catered with local cafe's, butchers, pubs and a convenience store all 100 yards away. I live next door and am available should you need any help during your stay.
the 'Annex' (home) has two bedrooms and bathrooms (one shower, one bath) and a comfortable lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped should you wish to self cater. We have built a small deck that you access through the rear french doors and enjoy an impeded river view.
Our favourite coffee shop is called House which does great food and coffee, run by some neighbours. There is selection of pubs with Cross Foxes being a classic local pub.
  • Great location and really did feel like a home from home, lots of lovely touches, many books and lovely blankets to wrap up in, all the essentials in the fridge/kitchen. Very quiet and relaxing and literally minutes to walk into the town. We found a parking space in a crescent about a minute away and the area has a lovely village feel with a few shops and cafes and pub on the doorstep. Can’t fault it, will be back!

  • Lovely house in a great location.

    Amy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Warm and cosy, stylish place, very handy for town centre. Close to local shop, pub and riverside walks.

    MaryClare2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great location near the main centre but still nice and quiet. The house is cosy with nice touches like games books and a stocked fridge.

    Joanna2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely compact house with all I needed: comfortable bed, good space to work, well-equipped kitchen and really thoughtful supplies in the fridge on arrival. And the view over the river first thing in the morning - beautiful.

    Steven2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • I booked this place for my parents and since they've come home all they've talked about is how lovely and homely this place is! The view from their window was beautiful and only a short walk into the city centre. They really could not fault it and would love to go back and book The Annex again 😊

    Emily2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house, lovely view. Home from home. There's no coffee maker, no TV and no parking, which might be relevant to some people (in case you want to bring alternatives). The nearest shop is a Spar (so you might want to stop at a proper supermarket en route). The beds are very comfy, the living room is really cosy, the decor is tasteful, the river views are lush and the place is perfectly located for walking beside the river and into town.
