  • A lovely, well-equipped apartment with a beautiful outlook over the water. Great communication with Jan from get-go, so checking in & out was simple. Well located for exploring the area, especially with Carrick on Shannon close by for shops etc. The apartment was warm & cosy, and the kitchen had pretty much everything you'd need for creating your meals there. Really good value for my stay, and would very happily visit again.

Books and TV provided , chill, relax ... a great place to explore central Ireland from, return each night, cook a meal. Heaps better than a hotel !!!!!!!

A cozy 2 bedroom rural cottage with modern conveniences like Wifi. An ideal place to ‘get away from it all’, where the only call is that of nature beckoning you to explore it. It is an ideal retreat for nature lovers, artists, or a romantic break.
Are you looking for a quiet, relaxing break in the countryside in the West of Ireland? Rustic, but with all modern conveniences? Then look no further!! The space is a traditionally styled cottage bakery, that's modernised to make your stay comfortable and welcoming! The sitting room is the heart of this home with wood panelled ceilings and the open fire-heated with turf that we save ourselves! There is a large shared garden with mature trees and lake views at the back of the cottage for your use. This also has a play area for the little ones. The apartment is next door to local pub, restaurant and shop. It comfortably sleeps 5 to 6 people, with the option of a travel cot. The master room has a double and two single beds while the second room has a double bed. There are two lakes just a short walk away which are great for fishing or just looking at. We have broadband but while good, it's more basic than broadband available in the city. There may be animal noises from time to time including our own two dogs in the back yard, and also the cattle on the land around us, (Our next-door neighbour is the local butcher). We have the outdoor play area for kids, a pool table, and a table tennis table on site. Just ask for entry to the lounge to play the table tennis table.
The house is next door to local pub, restaurant and small shop. There is beautiful scenery in this idyllic peaceful country escape. It is quite a rural area so a car is recommended. The area is excellent for cyclists. We are central for touring Lovely Leitrim with two lakes on your doorstep its the perfect place to have a nice relaxing fishing holiday or just take in the scenery.
  • Lovely comfortable house. Lovely pub right next door. Very friendly hosts..perfect for families exploring the area. Very reasonably priced. The beds were very comfie. Will definitely be back.

  • I had a great stay at Catherine's place this weekend :) Catherine was really lovely & accommodating, it wasn't a problem at all that I requested a very late check-in. The room itself was spacious & comfortable and the location was very handy for where I was coming from {Kilronan Castle}.

    Caroline2019-08-25T00:00:00Z

  • Catherine is an excellent host who was very patient when my sat-nav directed me to the next town and she had to talk me back to her house at 11:30 at night! Thank you Catherine and your family for a wonderful breakfast and chat. It was a lovely way to wake up after a great nights sleep. And a great start to a long days driving!

    Tom2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Catherine was very patient with me before I arrived when I was trying to rearrange my dates. I changed them back and forth a few times on the actual day of arrival and Catherine worked with me to sort it out to my satisfaction which was very much appreciated. When I came in one day with wet gear and needed to go back out in an hour Catherine was very helpful and dried them in her dryer for me. The accommodation itself was perfect, en suite. Very clean and comfortable. A few minutes walk from town. I would recommend Catherine’s accommodation for sure and if I was ever back in the area I would use it myself.

  • Caroline & Patrick were excellent hosts. They made us feel so welcome. The house was beautifully decorated with french style furniture. The indoor heated swimming pool was the highlight of our holiday, my two boys really enjoyed swimming everyday, twice a day! Caroline kindly left out swimming gear she had for her boys. The location was really beautiful with huge gardens over looking a spectacular lake with geese and ducks. Patrick recommended a visit to lough key forest park, we had a great day there and the boys got to drive miniature tractors and a jeeps! I would highly recommend a visit to Leitrim and staying at Carolines and Patricks house.

  • House is lovely. Clean. Comfortable. Pool warm. Bubbly. Great kind host. Plenty to explore in leitrim... beidh ar aís

    Tina2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick and Caroline are lovely people and very welcoming hosts. The house was sparkling clean! Our three children loved the pool and we also made use of the BBQ facilities. The little boat which and with the house made it extra special and the children had a great time rowing out across the lough. Close to several towns and lots of activities around! We plan to return next year!

    Caroline2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay here at Caroline's place. The house was spotless and really spacious, it had everything we needed. The view from the house was stunning and looks down on to the river, it's so peaceful and quiet but still handy to several towns. Caroline was a great host and greeted us on arrival and showed us around. We where lucky and had the whole pool to ourselves which my daughter took great advantage of! Would highly reccomend this place!!

    Michael2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick and Caroline are great hosts! They go all the way to make us feel very welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. We stayed for four days in early July. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the private heated pool with bubbles. Beds are very comfy and the house is complete for all our basic needs. We loved the nature walks near Lough Scur, the floating Boardwalk on Acres Lough in Drumshambo, a day out in Lough Key and Adventure park where kids had lots of fun especially zip-lining and also very much appreciate the nice evening walks by the marina in Carrick-on-Shannon. Mobile 4G access was limited/poor(one bar and upstairs only) and house is without wifi but most of our time were spent outdoors anyway. Brunch at Sweet Geranium cafe in Drumshambo is the best. All tasty, home made and organic! Driney house was a perfect getaway for myself, wife and four children. I highly recommend the House to anyone looking for a quiet countryside retreat with its private heated pool (with bubbles)!

  • I just stayed in Margaret's cottage. It was self check in which was great as I wasn't under any pressure for time to meet someone there. It is a lovely, quiet spot with everything you could need. The new onsite bedroom was where I stayed and so warm and cosy. This home is super clean too. Margaret is the most amazing host, with great contact, kind touches and a great heart. There was milk and orange juice left for me and the hearing was set so it was lovely to arrive to the warmth. I couldn't recommend this little place enough and the kindness of the host. Lorraine, March 2020.

  • Margarets house is very nicely restored and sparkling clean. Homely comfortable and toasty warm, it was our perfect Christmas getaway. Set in an acre of grounds tucked in behind some forestry, it is so peaceful and quiet without feeling isolated. There is a neighbouring house that doesn't impinge in any way. Close to Keadue village with a lovely pub shop church and woodland lakeside walk. Loads of walks and things to do in the area. This is the perfect home from home and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is now a second bedroom and ensuite. Fabulous. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful space with us and for all of the thoughtful touches.

  • Philips place is a separate part of their beautiful house in its own quiet grounds off the canal towpath. You need a car to reach it but we walked into the Leitrim village and did some great walks with our dog along the canal towpath. The apartment was well equipped and stylish. Our hosts were very attentive and helpful. We had some problems finding it as our satnav gave us the wrong location for the postcode but Philip directed us. All in all a great, relaxing stay with hospitable people in a stunningly beautiful location.

We especially appreciated the apple tart waiting for us when we arrived. Would definitely recommend and hope to get back to the house in the not too distant future.

  • Charming, cozy house in the idyllic countryside. Great for anyone trying to get away from it all. Locals in the town really friendly, check out Monica’s pub! A car would be a necessity though.

  • Una was a lovely hostess! The only thing more charming than the home, was the kind greeting when we arrived. We loved waking up to sheep just outside the window and the roaring fire in the living room. Thank you for everything especially those apple tarts! :)

  • We’ve just come back from a stay at Sheila’s place in Drumshanbo and would highly recommend it. Sheila’s house is perfectly clean with plenty of space for a family of five and fully equipped with all the expected essentials. Sheila had also baked a delicious fresh brown bread loaf which went down a treat. Her house is in a perfect location...about 50m from a great wee Irish pub, a lovely takeaway pizzeria and a small supermarket. There is an outdoor heated swimming pool about 1km away which was great fun for the kids...all in all a great week spent in Drumshanbo 😄😃

Our farmhouse cottage is the perfect place from which to explore this amazing region. We are situated 15km from Carrick on Shannon. Close to pristine lakes, beautiful mountains and the picturesque village of Keshcarrigan, this peaceful sanctuary is the perfect base from which to explore the many attractions this spectacular county has on offer. A rejuvenating retreat for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
The farmhouse is very close to Castlefore lake. Directly behind the cottage is our farm.
    Quiet, friendly neighbourhood.
  • Geraldine and Noel are two of the nicest people you could possibly hope to meet. The attention to detail and little touches around this beautiful cottage made our stay so memorable. From the warm scones on arrival to breakfast in the fridge we were made feel welcome immediately. The bed is so comfy and the shower is fabulous. The heating was turned on and the electric blankets on the bed were just perfect for a frosty night. There were other thoughtful little surprises sprinkled around the house for us to find and this just added further to the lengths that they both go to to make their guests feel welcome. We'll definitely be staying here again. Beautiful house. Beautiful hosts. 5*****

An affordable, decent-sized triple room in a quaint country cottage on a quiet lane. The room has a double and single bed. Guests have use of a fully fitted kitchen, living room, patio and garden and sole use of a full bathroom. Tea, coffee, water, bed linen and towels are provided in the room. The house has central heating and a homely open fire. This is the only room for guests and there would only ever be one other person, myself, at the house when guests are there.
I work as an actor and writer/director. I am often away working, and if I am, the guests would have use of the whole house. I am able to arrange for guests to check in themselves. When I'm at the house, I'd be working in my own private office, and guests would have full use of the house. The guests would be very much left to their own devices but I'm on hand for any advice and to drop guests into the town or village. There is cereal, bread and tea and coffee that guests can help themselves to in the morning. For guests arriving by bus or train, I would usually be able to provide a pick-up and drop-back service from Carrick-on-Shannon or Boyle bus stop or train station, if using public transport.
The house is situated on a very quiet lane approximately 3km outside Leitrim Village. The area is surrounded by beautiful scenic walks. A newly opened Shannon Blueway running from Leitrim Village to the beautiful town of Drumshanbo is only a 10 minute walk away. It's only a short walk to a lovely bar/restaurant at the end of the lane the house is on. It's possible to have a nice meal, couple glasses of wine and be able to drive back up the laneway, no problem- the lane goes around in a horseshoe loop to a main road so doesn't lead anywhere as such so is completely devoid of traffic 99.9% of the time! The whole area is perfect for the fitness enthusiast, with it's abundance of lush greenery, but is only a short distance from the quaint Leitrim Village with it's canal and pubs/restaurants and the bustling towns of Carrick- on- Shannon and Boyle, both of which boast all the amenities of a modern Irish town.
  • Great place to stay! Clean, comfortable & friendly neighbours. Quite & peaceful, with plenty of space, yet only a few minutes drive from the local village. Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Gary, but he was great with communication and made everything very easy for us.

  • A magic cottage, set in secluded lane , lovely coal fire near to Leitrim Village with pubs and takeaway restaurants. A great place to relax

    Steve2019-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • Warm and cosy house with a fireplace. There is a pub nearby with delicious food. Gary is very welcoming and knowledgeable, which makes him a great host. He even found time to have a tea with us in the evening. Defenitely would recommend spending a night or two at Gary’s place.

The cottage stands in its own grounds with ample parking for several vehicles and a large garden for children to play in. It is located in a very rural rustic area of the Leitrim countryside with a view of the Slieve Eirne mountains, and is surrounded by fields populated with the usual farm animals including horses and donkeys. If you are looking for beautiful peaceful countryside, look no further. The scenic Lough Allen is also close by, and your not too far from several towns and villages.
The area is ideal for walking, cycling, and fishing. there are many organised activity centres such as swimming pools, tennis courts, horse riding, pleasure boats, water activities, go carting etc etc etc. There is also Forest Park a few miles away, a natural forest turned into a park containing a boating lake, a zip course and an indoor activity centre. The very lively town of Carrick On Shannon is just 7 miles away. Famous for its wonderful pubs both traditional and modern catering for young and not so young. You can find live traditional music at weekends. There are lots of places to eat, many with home cooked traditional dishes.
There are many places of historical interest near to the cottage. There is a lovely scenic walk to the village of Kesh Carrigan. Here there are two traditional Irish pubs one of which provides excellent food and beverages. There is also a canal jetty where many boats pull in for overnight stays. As well as many fishing pegs.

This lovingly restored one-hundred-year-old farm house is a perfect spot for people who want to to get away from it all in a relaxing rural setting. It is situated in the countryside near the Leitrim -Roscommon border and is a perfect base for exploring the local areas of Drumbshambo, Carrick-on Shannon, and Sligo
It has been used by our family and some of our musician /artist friends over the last 10 years as a place to take time out. We finally came around to the idea that we should share the space with other people that would appreciate it.We put a lot of love into this house. Music - We have kitted it out the main living room with a top of the range sound system that has a mini-jack for phone and laptop connections. There is also a cd and record player. We have left a selection of CDs and Vinyl for your pleasure. Real fireplace - The house has got a 20kw output multifuel double sided glass front stove that heats both kitchen and living room at the same time. Bathroom - The bathroom has a very large Victorian bath tub placed in the centre of the room that is amazing for relaxing. It also has a fireplace you can light and watch while bathing. Movies - The house has a 60inch TV in the living room with a selection of movies to watch. Cooking - We have a passion for cooking, the house is fitted with a 5 ring gas hob and electric oven and all the good quality cooking equipment required for a dinner party.
The house is situated half a mile from the local village Arigna. Arigna is a village steeped in mining tradition and has a local shop for your basic food supplies and a pub ( the miners bar ) that is full of colourful local characters. Arigna is a picturesque village in North Roscommon set in the green valley of the Arigna River alongside Lough Allen. Situated between Sliabh an Iarann (Iron Mountain) in the East, Kilronan Mountain in the West and Corrie Mountain to the north and has beautiful scenery and unspoiled rugged landscapes.
  • My wife and I loved our stay in Nigel's place! The house was stylish, cosy and spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed, allowing us to enjoy a few relaxing nights away. Highly recommended!

  • Hello This house is really very warm. The decoration and the atypical style have enchanted us. The cleanliness is at the top, nothing is missing everything is in sufficient quantity.

  • Lovely cozy cottage, you can easily spend all day long inside enjoying the music collection and the fireplaces. It’s warm, with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. If you are looking for a quiet place to wind down don’t look any further

    Chiara2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space, lovely as the photos are I’m not sure that they could ever do it justice. Though it’s incredibly well designed - with every amenity - it still has real heart - no cold minimalism. We had a lovely relaxing time and some of the best sleep we’ve had when away! Good pressure in the showers - always important - and good communication from Nigel. We hope to be back!

    Leitrim Village, County Leitrim, Ireland

Leitrim Village is a small village about 5km from Carrick on Shannon. It has an hotel, chinese restuarant, Garage/shop and several pubs for good food/drink. The erne waterway meets the shannon and from balcony can view the boats. This beautiful apartment has a lift and is therefore suitable for disabled. (There is a roof garden reached via a spiral staircase and this part is not suitable for disabled). Sorry but 7 nights minimum booking.
Please note there is a 2 Night minimum stay. The living room is very large and has one wall of glass (including two glass doors) which lead onto balcony where there is a patio suite. It lets in a lot of heat in morning when sun shines on balcony and it is very enjoyable having breakfast on the balcony and watch the boats.
Small friendly village which is safe and quiet. It is nice to be able to walk a few hundred yards without car and enjoy a drink in local pub and also enjoy good food in pubs.

  • This is a lovely spacious apartment located on the marina in Leitrim Village. There are restaurants and pubs very close by. There is only one shop and petrol station which stocks the basic essentials. I would suggest doing a large shopping in one of the larger towns. There is a lovely walk by the canal which can be accessed in under than a mile. Lots of outdoor activities in the leitrim area.. Lovely scenic part of the county.

  • We had a lovely 2 night stay in number 12. Great house in perfect location. The house was immaculate and Joanne had left some lovely treats which were much appreciated. Kids loved the toys and books. The house is equipped with everything you could ever need. Only a short walk to Leitrim village which has some lovely pubs and restaurants and a shop. only a short drive to Carrick-on-Shannon and Drumshanbo where you can visit acres lake and the floating boardwalk. Thanks again!

  • Great hostess, would definitely recommend. We had friends in Carrick-on-Shannon & stayed here as only a short distance away. We were delighted with it, plenty of space for our kids.

    Elaine2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in Joanne's home. It was gorgeously decorated, and extremely spacious but still cosy for the whole family to enjoy, including infants. It was very family friendly and kid safe, and the children loved the bunk bed room! It was a lovely way for us all to sit together while having breakfast and dinners. The local village was close by and it wasnt far from Carrick-On-Shannon. There was lots to do and Joanne had provided lots of leaflets on what there was in the area which was extremely helpful! The garden and surrounding street was safe for the kids to play in and they had a great time doing so. The kitchen was fully equipped even with some condiments in the fridge such as butter, milk and jams! Very thoughtful! Thank you so much for letting us stay Joanne. We would highly recommend for big groups and families with small children!

    Monisa2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This was our first stop on our trip around Ireland. My husband and I and our 4 kids were greeted by Joanne who showed us around and even left us with fresh scones tea and something nice for the kids which was exactly what we needed after a 6 hour journey. It was so homely and Joanne was great ringing to check we were ok and if we needed any suggestions where to eat bring the kids etc ... we highly recommend this place it was our first stop of our journey and I think we were spoilt. Little amenities were there like shower gels, tables to wash, milk etc... these things you don’t want to think about on your first night away. The location was perfect a lot to do around for couples and families. There’s no doubt everyone who stays here will enjoy it as much as we did. We will defiantly be back again to this lovely part of the country.

The breakfast is very tasty. If you want to stay near/in Carrick then is this your best choice for the night.

  • Jessica was really helpful with her text messages explaining how to get there. Her home is lovely and she was waiting at the door to make sure we didn't drive past. We were made to feel very welcome and appreciated the tea and coffee and the fantastic stove to warm us up after our motorbike trip. Our room was very comfortable and we loved the dressing gowns and slippers! We enjoyed our continental breakfast in the cosy breakfast room: it set us up for another day on the motorbike. Jessica's home is in a beautiful area and we would definitely come back to Carrick on Shannon and we would love to stay with Jessica again.

  • Marie is a fantastic host, her hospitality is second to none she makes you feel so at home in her home. Her breakfast is outstanding! I highly recommend a stay here if you are exploring the lakes of Leitrim.

  • Natures Rest is as perfect as it is presented online. Our stay here couldn't have been better. Marie is a most thoughtful and gracious host who went way beyond to make our few days stay thoroughly comfortable and memorable. We had a great stay here and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in Leitrim. It was such great value for money and we would definitely want to stay here again. Marie is a fountain of knowledge about the local area and loves to share it. While we were there she organised a ‘neighbours’ get-together at the local lake and happily invited us along. It was special to be able to meet all the locals as well as the parish Gaelic football team! We miss it already! Go raibh maith agat Marie.

    Kasia2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely place to stay. The house is surrounded by its own huge garden. I really enjoyed the cosy room and Marie is a wonderful and extremely friendly woman to talk with. She looks after lodgers as a family. I still remember she offered a full glass of wine on the first day I arrived, which symbolised warm welcome. This house is a wonderful place to stay as the name indicates "Natures Rest".

    Chan Yong2018-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • On arrival we were met with a friendly, courteous smile. The house was spacious, clean and very welcoming. Our family of four adults, one teenager and two dogs settled in very quickly through Marie's insistence that we treat her home as our own. Each morning we were met with a cheerful welcoming greeting and a breakfast fit for a king. The catering alone I have not seen the likes of in some 5 star hotels. This lady went above and beyond in every way possible to make our stay both welcoming and memorable. Her pet friendly home and grounds are very spacious and a beautiful delight to awaken to each morning. Her own pets were unbelievably placid. Marie's home is very well located for access to local amenities and entertainment and a fifteen minute drive into the nearby town of Carrick-on-Shannon. The walks and lough views around Marie's home are unbelievable. Her knowledge and guidance ensured that we were able to get the most out of our short stay. A must stay for those looking for a clean refreshing home and an exceptional host.

  • If you stay any where in Ireland, let it be here. The house itself is beautiful and delightfully decorated, but the real treat is Kate herself. Kate organised us a second room at short notice and also catered for our Australian breakfast needs, with a serve of smashed avo (which she'd never even heard of but managed to make brilliantly!). Couldn't recommend more highly, thank you!
