Writer, allow yourself the freedom to write with a stay at The Yellow Table: A Writer's Retreat. In your private room is your own yellow table for writing, a view of upstate New York's various seasons, with space, ambience to release any constraints that day to day worries have placed on your writing. Walk outside year round to enjoy the inspiration of the natural surroundings. Or stay inside by the fireplace to pet the resident cat, Zen Li Shou.
Quiet surroundings, a rustic setting, nature within reach; all conspire to inspire, but if inspiration doesn't arrive immediately, it is easy to make day trips for hikes or visiting breweries or wineries.
The Retreat, only one mile from the interstate, is set in woods that are wild but accessible. The pond out back, the trail through tall grasses into the Secret Garden, are fodder for our writing, as they inspire and suggest and guide you back into your own thoughts. We are close to April the Giraffe, at the Animal Adventure Park, if you'd like to see her and her friends.

The studio is located halfway between Walton and Delhi. There is a gas station convenience store that does offer some food about 1 mile towards Delhi. There is a small local hang out about a mile towards Walton called Road House Inn.

  • This house is perfect for large groups: comfortable beds, plenty of rooms, fully-equipped kitchen, and even a game room in the basement. There were four of us, but it could probably easily fit 8 except the bathroom situation might get a little crowded. We were there for Thanksgiving and the house had everything we needed for a perfect mini retreat. The only challenge is finding it, which Danielle warned us about beforehand. If you can, arrange to arrive in the daylight, and make sure you download the map on your phone beforehand.

  • Jermaine place is great

    Philip2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Danielle and Jermaine were excellent hosts- extremely fast in replying to messages, graciously accommodating when we asked for an early check-in, and overall warm and welcoming. The house itself was also great- well maintained on a large, peaceful property with all of the amenities and space you could need. For a 4 day trip, we made one stop at a supermarket (Big M in Deposit, NY) about 20 minutes north of the house, and did not have to leave again after, making for a perfect retreat. The Table tennis and pool tables, as well as the massive stone fireplace, were definitely highlights for us. Highly recommended for anyone, but especially for small groups; we only had 3 but the house could have easily accommodated a group at least twice the size. This place was awesome all around!

    Ganesh2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • The place is amazing, the host is always going the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable. We booked during the Halloween season and they decorated the place to fit the season. A great thought that we all appreciated. The place is perfect to just get away and be comfortable. Will love to come back.

    Abraham2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful spacious place. The hosts were great

    Lillian2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jermaines place was absolutely beautiful. It was spotless, well stocked, spacious. The property was located on a quiet and peaceful road and the sunrises & sunsets were breathtaking. Communication was fast, easy and painless. The best Air b&b I’ve stayed in so far.

    Alecia2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jermaine and co. are terrific and responsive hosts. The house itself is beautiful, spacious, comfortable, well equipped, and well stocked. The setting, private and sublime. Kayaking on the Delaware with OARS was great. All told, highlight of our summer.

    Michael2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jermaine and Danielle are amazing hosts that really cater to their guest’s every need. My friends and I take a fishing trip to the Delaware River once or twice a year. This time our partners wanted to join so we needed a large house to accompany everyone. The bbq grill and spacious kitchen provided the perfect space to prepare every meal which was helpful as there are only a few restaurants in the area. Nights were spent unwinding around the fire or enjoying the large jacuzzi tub. When we arrived, Jermaine called the house to make sure we knew how to use all the amenities and set the alarm(having the alarm was very reassuring). We are already planning our next trip to Hancock to stay with Jermaine and Danielle!

Come stay in a charming barn renovated with an artistic contemporary touch in the amazing Catskills! The barn sits on a 5 acres parcel of beautiful land, and is close to the village of Callicoon and the Delaware River. The downstairs of the barn is currently available for vacation rental through out the year for up to 6 people (we might be able to accept up to 8 guests in a case by case basis). *The residential space was just renovated (03/2019) and we are working better pics to upload soon!
Our space a charming renovated barn venue in the Western Catskills set in five acres of gently sloped fields, woods, and ancient stonewalls that has been restyled with a playful and young contemporary style, making it the perfect countryside destination. The barn is conveniently located close to the Handsome Hollow Barn Event Space and the French Woods camp. The 1,400 square feet area of the lower level of the barn, originally housing the farm stables, was renovated with an open concept design and rustic-contemporary touch. Preserving some of the original building's details, this downstairs of the barn was reinvented as a loft-like living space, which includes a spacious newly updated kitchen, full design bathroom, two guest bedrooms in addition to a large bedroom study-room hybrid, which in conjunction with the living room area, sleeps up to 8 guests. The upper level, originally used to store bales of hay, has been tastefully redesigned as a 2,000 square feet open space with ample 30 feet high ceilings that can seat up to 65 guests during special events. The upstairs has a large bathroom (the other bathroom is located downstairs), a dedicated lighting system setup for a variety of party lights, a Bluetooth capable sound-system with speakers, oversize 12' x 14' contemporary glass paneled full-view door with remote control and plenty of windows for natural light. The extensive lawn adjacent to the barn can accommodate an additional number of guests for outside sitting or using tenting. It also offers the option of having separate areas for cocktails, dinner and dancing throughout the property. This unique venue makes it the perfect setting for your your upstate vacations as well as for your wedding, micro-wedding, rehearsal dinner, company retreat, farewell brunch, farm-to-table dinner, photo/film shoot, art event and more.
Located 2 miles north of Long Eddy, NY, were you can have close access to the Delaware River the place is also only minutes from Callicoon, where you will find restaurants, antique shops, a movie theater, community center. Very close to 'Handsome Hollow' event space. Also the village of Hancock is a close drive away. Another area favorite, Roscoe is about 20 miles away from the property. The beautiful river nearby allows for swimming, tubing, kayaking and some of the best trout fishing in the country. Nearby you can also find State Parks. For runners and cyclists, opportunities are incredible also. The barn is located only 2.5 hours from New York City. It’s a great chance of experiencing the incredible natural beauty of the Catskill Mountains.
  • Everything went great! From the moment we arrive Guillermo was super helpful and Very responsive. We also rented out the upstairs for the rehearsal dinner and it was better than I could’ve ever imagined it. We loved the location and the stylish house. Would definitely recommend!! We did not want to b leave!

  • This barn is beautiful! The space is very clean and it is stylishly decorated, but still comfortable and welcoming. Guillermo was super helpful and provides a detailed guidebook that explains many things around the barn and gives suggestions for the surrounding area as well. We would absolutely stay at the barn again -- and definitely recommend to anyone looking for a place to enjoy in the Catskills!

  • We rented the Hayloft for 4 days during our daughters wedding at Handsome Hollow It was quite close to HH and also Callicoon which is a very sweet little town The HL. was very clean, well appointed and just a lovely open concept relaxing place to stay Guillermo could not have been a better host This is a very special place to “unplug”

  • Sparkling clean, stylish home in a beautiful town— Highly recommend Guillermo’s place!! 👍🏼👍🏼

    Scott2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable and spacious space. We stayed in late September during cloudy days and we weren’t too hot or too cold. The renovation is nicely done and the decor is pleasant and simple. We wish we had had more time to try the fire pit and explore a bit more of the property. This worked out great for us and our needs. So much nicer than the motels and hotels in the area.

    Alana And Tim2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is beautiful, comfortable, clean and a great location if you are looking to get away but close to town of Callicoon. The grounds are big and fun to explore. Close to lots of fun Upstate stuff, Skinners Falls, town pool for kids, lots of Frisbee on the big lawn at the barn. Guillermo was a great host, easy to communicate with and got back to you right away. We stayed with our two kids. Would love to stay there again!

    Nola2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an incredible time staying at the beautiful updated Barn. The place was so spacious and immaculate, and the 5 acres of surrounding green nature made our stay feel so special. We enjoyed so many outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and our canoe ride down the Delaware River was so serene and wonderful. The restaurants in lower and upper Main Street in Callicoon were great. After exploring the area, we looked so forward to coming back to the beautiful Barn and the 5 acres. Guillermo was such an amazing host, and just a pone call away if needed. We will definitely be back again for another vacation!

They had so many nice touches that made us feel welcome - fresh produce from their garden with a note letting us know to help ourselves, a lot of the cooking basics stocked in the fridge and cabinets, fresh flowers on the table, and more. The space was perfect for our stay and we loved the breezeway and Adirondack chairs. We'll definitely stay here again next time we need to come to the area!

  • This was hands down one of the best places I've ever stayed at for a vacation. If you're looking for a getaway from the bustle of busy life, there's nothing like the sunsets and landscapes you can experience staying at this BNB. Plus the kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly want to cook with to treat yourself..even including a waffle iron which we totally took advantage of. The icing on the cake was the fire pit outside and the thousands of stars we were able to see every night we stayed. I'll definitely be staying here again.

  • This cottage was lovely! We stayed for two nights, the place was clean, new, and had beautiful views. It was a lovely quiet place to get away from everything. Stewart and Katherine were excellent hosts. I’d come back in a heartbeat!

    Noah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place was exactly what I needed for in a quiet weekend away to write. The hosts were very welcoming and I very much enjoyed meeting Jojo. The view from the living room was very serene. The bathroom and kitchen were also accommodating with everything I needed for my stay. The hosts next door were quiet and courteous, and took care of the snow removal along the cottage as well.

    Robin2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful space with a great view. Everything was very comfortable, the hosts were friendly and helpful (especially JoJo the dog!). Close to town but also lots of space for the dogs to run and for humans to hike around. I imagine it’s wonderful in the summer as well. They even provided my dog with her own towel which was a touch we loved. We’ll be back!

    Karina2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy and Stewart and JoJo were great hosts. The place is as described and was very clean. There is a beautiful creek and woods for hiking. Our dog loved playing with JoJo and overall we had a lovely stay. Would recommend for those looking to explore the Catskills and charming towns of Delhi, Bovina and Andes nearby.

  • John and Al provided exactly what we were looking for in a secluded, quiet weekend in nature. The cabin was very clean and well-appointed with everything we needed, and as a bonus we were spoiled with a giant tv and a giant selection of films to choose from. Al’s walkthrough orientation was informative and interesting, and he was happy to answer all of our questions about the history of the property and the local flora and fauna. Our weekend was enjoyed in solitude, other than the occasional visits from whitetail deer and chipmunks.

    Jesse2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time at John and Al's cabin. They're a welcoming couple. The best part of my stay it was to cook all my meals with the kitchen wood stove, which also keeps the cabin warm. The porch with a cup of coffee, the best. I recommend this cabin.

    Arian2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • This has been one of the best places I’ve ever stayed at. The cabin is rustic, cozy, and very private. The outdoors hot shower and the views from the porch were the best things in this place. John and Al were very helpful, they gave us a tour of the house to explain how everything works. Every morning was a majestic time; enjoying the views, the sounds and everything else this place has to offer. I would definitely recommend this place and will come back!

    Natalia2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Rugged living at it's finest. A gem tucked away in the middle of nowhere! Al and John provided everything we needed for a quiet weekend away. We will definitely be back for another visit.

  • This a home away in nature if been in the outdoors is something you can handle this is the place to go and have quite peace of mind. My husband and I enjoy the walks on the property and also when up around the town on many of the unpaved roads. It was an amazing stay the lake is beautiful and the shower outside made it feel earthy

    Orquidea2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our time at the cabin! Al was very friendly and helpful showing us around when we arrived. The cabin, surrounding woods, and pond area felt very private. It was a very enjoyable rustic get away in a one room cabin, with cozy wood burning stove, limited cell coverage, an outside hot shower and outside toilet. Had fun walking around property, relaxed on the screened in porch overlooking the pond, making a fire in the fire pit with branches on property, and enjoyed star gazing. Thanks so much for an enjoyable nature filled stay!

    Stacy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect way to spend my birthday! Peace and quiet. It was a little cooler than I had hoped, and rained a bit, but the cabin was a great place to warm up and enjoy the sounds of the rain! Overall great experience. Check-in and out were easy. Al led me to the cabin and the relaxing began. They were even nice enough to accommodate a change in check-out. Wonderful place!

  • We felt right at home at Deb’s place. Her house is an old farmhouse, and you can feel the stories radiate off the walls. There so much memory and history to be shared. She is right next to the highway, which was convenient for us, as we were just passing through. Our bedroom was upstairs with a bathroom down the hall. The bed was super cozy with all the blankets. Before settling in for the night, we warmed up soup and sat downstairs next to the wood burning stove for awhile, which was so warm and comforting. My partner and I would absolutely stay with Deb again. She made us feel right at home!

    Michelle2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • It was a pleasant one night stay on the way to our NYC trip. Deb's place was very clean and full of natural lights. The bed was comfy, and we had a very good sleep. Her hospitality was awesome and unfortunately we couldn’t chat as we reached very late in the night. Only suggestion for the travellers - please follow the goole map / gps instruction as mentioned by her, the roads might be missed in the dark.

    Saptarshi2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Deb was very welcoming - she has quite a history with her place and it was interesting to hear about. The house is easy to find if you use the directions in her link, very cozy bed, exceptionally steep stairs, easy parking, and a space in the fridge was an extra benefit. Recommended.

Accommodations were so nice and having the option to cook was a welcomed alternative - all necessities were provided to make meals. Definitely a place we will come back to in the future.

  • We stayed for 3 nights could have easily stayed a month. The place was large, clean, very comfortable, full kitchen. Basically everything you could want. George and his wife were very friendly but also gave us our privacy. If you are fishing the Delware, this is a great spot. Would definitely stay here again.

    Hugo2018-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • It was totally random that I stumbled over this beautiful place, I have never regret that choice, George and Maryjane are the best people you will ever meet, so kind and thoughtful, all the way trough. The place is quiet and beautiful.

    Thomas2018-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful escape, from being greeted by deer, the large bedroom to the comfortable space, we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. George was very responsive to our needs and the space was better than we imagined. Pictures don’t do it justice. There is a land line, internet. and a Verizon booster on-site, but this a delightful get away. Be prepared to detach and enjoy the surroundings. Deposit and Afton are close for for most needs. Don’t pass this place up.

  • We had a lovely overnight stay at Fahad’s home in Hancock, NY. Check in/out was convenient, and easy. The entire house was warm, cozy and welcoming. We were able to have big family meals together that we prepared in the full kitchen, ate at the oversized diner table, then relaxed around a cracking fire! The beds were incredibly comfortable and in rooms that were spacious and charming. If we want to stay in Hancock in the future, we would love stay at Fahad’s home again!

A log cabin nestled atop a mountain in the Western Catskills. Watch the sunset from the front porch (or salt water hot tub!), take a nap in the hammock, hike around the land, listen to vinyls—all while taking in the spectacular views and fresh mountain air. The cabin has two bedrooms with tempurpedic mattresses (one queen and one full) and a queen bed in the basement. If needed, the futon in the living room can also sleep two. IG: @thecatskillscabin
The cabin is situated on 4.2 acres of very private land, located 2,400 feet above sea level with spectacular views into the valley below. We’re located 3 hrs from NYC (2.5 from the GW Bridge), and 30 minutes from Roscoe which is home to some of the best trout fishing on the East Coast. There is full cell phone service at the cabin (both Verizon and AT&T) as well as wifi. Outdoor activities in the area include hiking, kayaking, fishing and swimming at the local swimming holes nearby. We recommend driving a more rugged car if possible, as the driveway is dirt and loose gravel. The cabin is pet friendly. Shoot us a message with any additional questions! ** From a recent renter** "Staying at this cabin is like having a somewhat profound travel experience because – of course, the view. But more than that, it’s about being in nature from this height, from this vantage point. The weather on the mountain is so diverse – on a single sunny day the wind will kick up, die down, do things because of the cycle of the day. You see all sorts of cloud patterns -- cumulus, cirrus, flowing overhead and below you. Sunsets blaze from orange to red to purple, setting later and lasting seemingly forever, kind of like watching the sun set from an airplane. Perhaps also because of the altitude (2400 feet) and the lack of light pollution I saw more stars than anywhere I’ve been east of the Rockies.. On clear mornings a blanket of fog slowly burns off the valley. Red-tailed hawks surf the wind currents. The landscape here feels alpine, not because the inclines are so steep or the elevation is so very high but because of the closeness of the hills to one another, snug and intimate. I almost expected to hear cowbells from the valley below." - Leslie
  • Amazing place perfect for a weekend getaway!

  • Great place. It is warm and cozy. The driveway and street can be difficult to get up and down without a four wheel drive especially with any wet or inclement weather. Hot tub isn’t working 100% but the cabin is clean and inviting, the views are great and the local towns are friendly with great antique stores!

    Antonia2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • My grandfather owned this cabin when he was alive and we spent so many weekends up there growing up. I booked right away when I found it on here for my family and I. It was bittersweet being back. Yi-Mei and Gray are incredible hosts and have done such a great job keeping this place so beautiful and homey. What you see is what you get! This place is worth every penny. The coziest decor and even better views. We will definitely be back and are so excited to make new memories at the cabin.

    Thomas2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • A truly beautiful home in a gorgeous natural setting - even during a mostly gray, rainy winter the walking and hiking in the area was delightful and the views from the home were stunning. The house itself is spacious and great for hanging out (tons of comfy lounge space, plenty of bedroom space) and cooking (decent kitchen with standard rental equipment - BYO if you have any "must haves" for your cooking, but the basics are here), building wood fires (phenomenal fireplace!!), and enjoying the jacuzzi (the host recently got a larger hot water heater in so you can really fill it now). It was also accessible to our little sedan even when there was snow and an ice storm, and the WiFi worked fine for us the whole time. A couple of things worth noting that aren't entirely obvious from the description: There is NO cell reception, at least not for Sprint or AT&T. The host will send you a cell number for someone who can assist you with things like firewood (and fresh eggs, yum!); make sure to reach out to them while you're traveling because you won't be able to text when you arrive, although you get reception back pretty quickly in nearby highways and towns. Also, there are neighbors closer than it looks from the photos. You still have plenty of quiet and privacy inside the house, but it's not isolated outside of it. And you absolutely must be able to manage large amounts of steep stairs - the entire house is built around them, including getting into the front door (fine if you're able-bodied, but in no way ADA accessible). Finally, the beds are incredibly hard and uncomfortable to sleep in, like sleeping on the floor. If you have a mattress topper, it's worth the space in your car to bring it. (But the house was so great I'd gladly stay again even after a week of aching joints.)

  • My family of 5 with our dog had the most wonderful stay at Sam’s house on a river during Christmas week. We loved absolutely everything. Waking up to the views of the river and mountain with a cup of coffee in your hands; sitting by the fireplace during the cold crisp nights and listening to holiday tunes; watching the starts while laying on a snow. The house had everything we need for a week stay. Sam was responsive prior and during our stay. We can only imagine how wonderful it would be to come back during the summer when you can canoe in the river and swim. Can’t wait to be back and thanks for everting.

  • Sam’s home is so well used so well loved and couldn’t be more comfortable. Nothing beats after a day of fishing and then driving down the road to Sam’s knowing the sauna/steam and big fireplace await. The property managers are so lovely and helpful. The big yard and the access to river at the property are so great to run around and play outside! It’s a wonderful place to be! The only thing I would note is the Internet wasn’t working and there wasn’t a DVD player or way to watch movies. Everything was wonderful though!! Hope to go back.

My place is rural, and 10 mins. from ANIMAL ADVENTURE PARK and the finger lakes trail You’ll love my place because of the outdoor space, the views, the location, and the privacy. We supply 1 canoe, paddles and life jackets .Very private and large outdoor space for recreation and campfires..Bring Sleeping Bags and Pillows and Towels! We have built a 8 by 10 addition for additional sleeping area with queen bed. This is NATURE,we do not spray for insects.Think Henry David Thoreau!
Birds galore and watch for the Bald eagles on your canoe trip. You can canoe upriver appx. a mile and half. Very private and close to nature. Has outside shower and sink next to cabin and a clean rent a john,a 15 second walk.
A great deli is walking distance from cabin, and great restaurants within 5 miles. Animal Adventure is a short drive away, professional baseball is 20 minutes away along with art and culture
  • Peaceful stay right next to the river.

    Jared2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, canoe was clutch, front porch is screened in which was a nice surprise for keeping tabs on our pup.

    Cassie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great time at Sherry's cabin. The cabin is secluded, and is right on the river. Sherry and her husband were kind enough to provide access to a kayak and also plenty of firewood. The cabin does have electricity (and a mini-fridge) and an outdoor shower with hot water - these made the stay way more comfortable than it would have been if it was totally off-the-grid. I'd highly recommend this spot if you're looking to head to the woods for some quiet rest and relaxation.

    Eric2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • If you like the outdoors and enjoy privacy this is the cabin for you. I enjoyed the sounds of nature during the evenings and the outdoor shower was a unique experience.

  • Awesome little getaway! Beautiful river and very peaceful, my dog loved it!

    Brendan2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Sherry’s enchanted cabin was amazing! We were happily surprised to see the screened in porch. The area was beautiful, check in was very easy and convenient, awesome view of the river, super private, everything we were looking for! Canoe was super fun! Sherry has great local suggestions! Firewood and fire starters and bug torches were leftover for us to use! Super secluded but still running water and electric ! Awesome area with pick your own blueberries right down the street! Would stay here again!

    Jeremy2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The property was exactly like it appears on profile, even better with the newly installed mesh to keep the bugs away (which unfortunately did bother us a bit due to our late arrival at night leading to keeping the inside lights on :( Overall experience was superb with the heating and refrigerator and bed arrangement along with outdoor bath area. Overall cleanliness was great and well maintained. Unfortunately had to leave a day earlier due to some medical emergency, but hope to stay again soon :)

  • Great place with nice view especially in the morning one of the best cabins i stayed in so far we had great time.

    Murat2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great weekend at The River House! The views were amazing, and the house was so cozy but still way more than enough room for 5 adults. It was the perfect spot for a fall getaway. We especially loved the beautiful fireplaces and had fun looking through the countless DVDs. The house was everything we needed and more. We didn’t get to meet Tiffany, but her setup was amazing — so nice of her to leave us a bottle of wine! — and she was very flexible when we had to change some of our booking information just a few days before the trip. We will be back!

    Madeline2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Tiffany went out of her way to make our time at the River House special. The space is so cozy, well-designed, and in a perfect location. There are tons of things to do in the house - movies, games, music, etc. -and the nearby town has a number of cool breweries to check out. I would definitely recommend this space to anyone looking to relax and cozy up by campfire for the weekend. Tiffany, thanks again for welcoming us into your home!

  • I’ve been coming to Downsville every year for the last 8 years and this year we decided to rent an Airbnb rather then the small family cabin we usually stay in. I cannot express in full detail how absolutely magical this place is, it’s something you have to see for yourself. Tiffany was the best Airbnb host I’ve ever dealt with over the years. She was hospitable beyond my expectations and her response time made it super easy to breeze through my questions and concerns. The house is stunning and the land it’s on may even top that, there is no shortage of relaxation or adventure, whichever you choose to indulge in is more than rewarding. I hope to come back sometime soon to enjoy that place yet again, I’m sure all of the previous guests share that same desire!

    Julian2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I had an amazing stay here! We were celebrating my cousin’s upcoming wedding and this was the perfect location for us! The house itself was adorable and had everything we needed and didn’t think of packing. Tiffany was so sweet and always available for questions if we had any. The location is pretty remote so be prepared to unplug when not in range of the WiFi but that’s the point of a vacation sometimes right?! Her neighbor was so sweet to us as well so we felt safe. There are plenty of places to go hiking and antiquing within a 20 min drive depending on what you’re looking for. Overall we had an amazing experience and would recommend this location to anyone interested!!

  • If you’re looking to get away and want to commune with nature in a rustic , classy style, then this cabin, on the river is is the best option you can find! Views of nature, the river , if a spotless 2 bedroom /with loft , bed and balcony and all amenities including up and down fireplace is you’re idea of roughing it - spend a few days here!

    Mike2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Amazing Value! The house really has a lot of charm and character. Tiffany is a great host and definitely goes out of her way to add extra amenities for her guests. If you need transportation there is no Uber or lyft in the area but I recommenced Absolute Taxi and Airport Transportation.

  • This spot is amazing. We’ve never stayed in an RV before so we were excited to try it out. It exceeded our expectations. The spot on the gorgeous lake in the middle of the forest during the fall season makes this a gem. We cooked in the RV and sat next to the fire pit all night. Such a beautiful, quiet getaway for nature lovers and adventures. Tons of hiking and scenery in the local area as well.

    Kathleen2018-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in this RV located right next to a quiet lake in Deposit, NY. I stayed there for 2 nights with my 13 year old son, who is obsessed with RVs, and it lived up to his expectations. The hosts were friendly and met us at arrival to show us around. The RV was equipped with everything we needed, and we were able fish and cook on the fire pit right outside our door. The Wifi worked great too. Highly recommended!

  • Before even getting to the house Diana contacted me checking in on if we had made it yet to the house and if we had any questions or concerns. We mainly booked the house because of the location, but once arriving to house we found that the house it self is fantastic! Everything is just like it’s displayed. We had a great time!

  • Another boys weekend in the books at this impressive riverfront cabin. Perfect if you’re looking for fishing or just a quiet weekend to get out of the city. This is our second time staying here and Diana is truly an amazing and responsive host. We plan on returning.

    Alexander2019-04-28T00:00:00Z
  • This is the ultimate river front cabin for either fishing or relaxation getaway. There are two main reasons why I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking a getaway in the Catskills. The first is the cabin. The cabin was spotless and sported a modern kitchen with everything you’d ever need, a spacious living room with a scenic view of the river, and a massive back deck with a grill, hammocks, and plenty of chairs. Down by the river is a fire pit with a few complementary logs ready to be fired up. The beds were decorative, clean, and comfortable. The bathroom was fully stocked with more than enough towels. Finally the washer and drier came in handy when a few of the guys took a spill in the river! The second reason why I highly recommend this cabin is the host, Diana. From the get go, weeks before our arrival, she took the time to speak to me on the phone about our trip to answer a few questions I had about the area. Moreover while we were at the cabin she pointed us in the direction of a few fishing spots that proved to be more fruitful than the advice given to us by some of the local fly shops. She was an incredibly responsive, friendly, and went above and beyond at helping us make this fly fishing trip memorable. The guys and I are already planning our trip for next year. Thanks again for everything! -Alex

Special offer for gardeners/farmers/writers to rent for whole season. June 1 - Sept 30 (with exception of already booked June 21st-28th). $2450 for whole season ( $22 a night!), and will throw in some of May if you want to get in earlier than June 1. This is a 56% discount off of the already low price. Go for it!!! LAND! No Electricity!!! LIVE OFF THE LAND! 20+ acre hilltop with water-pumping windmill for natural gardeners. Small non-electric writer's cabin. Solitude. Get away from it all!
Note: This special offer is for June 1 - Sept 30, primarily for those looking to enjoy the best season there -- the growing season and the beautiful month of September. The cabin would not be available from June 21 - June 28 as that week has already been booked, although you could keep some belongings stored at the owner's house nearby for that week. *I will also throw in some of May if you want to get in earlier to get set up. First week of June is common starting time for most crops; cold-hardy can start earlier. 20+ acre electricity-free hilltop property, with several acres available for gardening/farming. That's right! No electricity! Bring in whatever portable wind, solar or other alternative energy source you may have! A water pumping windmill on a 40' tower provides water for washing, and there is a 1500 gallon holding tank for gardeners/farmers. Part-time gardeners can set up irrigation hoses and timers to work while they're away. A beautiful natural environment for pitching a tent or tiny home and living off the land. Or, stay in the 12' x 24' cabin -- it shows sign of wear -- weather-beaten and some water stained walls --from 20 years of use. It still stands strong against the elements. Two skylights, a large viewing window, a rocking chair, and writing table. Great location for a writer in search of solitude. A small wood-burning stove can provide heat on cold days, as well as a cooking surface. A very basic sawdust outhouse is attached to the cabin, allowing for an experience one step up from camping. Bucket needs to be carried out of cabin to be emptied in outside compost pile. Views of vistas for miles in the distance. Endless stars at night, fresh mountain air, and generally cool nights (although some hot, still, summer nights are inevitable). Property is accessible by four wheel drive vehicle with reasonable clearance, such as a pick up truck (or many SUV's). Alternatively cars can be parked at the bottom of the hill and guests can walk up to the cabin. This rental is for the land, gardening rights, use of the windmill, and cabin. Guests would have to bring in drinking water. Those looking to stay on the property full time would need to figure out (on their own or with owner) arrangements for food refrigeration and cooking (solar, propane, 12V battery fridge, gas grill, etc.; a number of options exist). Property is not appropriate for hunting.

Set back on a small private road in the hamlet of Hortonville, this cabin dating back to the 1800s is perched above the north branch of Callicoon Creek. You can’t see much of the house from the road, but head up the wooded driveway and find yourself in a serene, green clearing all your own. The cabin and guest studio make for a quiet, peaceful getaway, completely shielded from the surroundings, but incredibly convenient for reaching nearby towns and activities.
***PLEASE NOTE! For all of our guests' safety during the coronavirus outbreak, we are closing access to the hot tub, as the water in the tub is not treated and could possibly spread the virus. We thank everyone for their patience and understanding!! You’ll know the second you walk in that the cabin has been sitting in its spot for a very long time, with big aged joists and original planks running throughout. However, it has been thoughtfully updated for modern life. The living room of the house has a comfortable DWR chaise and a rattan hanging chair, arranged around a handsome Hearthstone wood burning stove with a large picture window for enjoying the flame. The internet is lightning fast and the TV is connected to an Apple TV with streaming services. The upstairs bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a Tuft & Needle Mint mattress, and a queen futon. The room is simple and serene, looking out on the beautiful hillside outside the home. Downstairs is a cozier bedroom with a full-sized bed that looks out onto the front porch and the big creek that runs by. Fall asleep to the white noise of the water and wake up to the sound of birds chirping. Both beds are furnished with Brooklinen sheets. The cabin is ideal for 2-4 guests, but for adventurous visitors, there is also the option of the guest studio directly across the deck from the cabin. It has two twin beds which can be pushed together at your request to form a larger single bed. In the summer, the space is cooled with a ceiling fan, but in the shady setting, all you need is the breeze through the double screen doors. In the winter, the room is heated with a space heater and comfy Pendleton wool blankets. There is no bathroom or running water in the guest studio. The bathroom has a large tiled stand-up shower and all modern plumbing. The kitchen is small but well stocked. The oven is too small to roast a turkey, but perfect for a roast chicken. Our water is pumped from a natural spring on the property, which is filtered for sediment and also zapped for bacteria with a UV light. Those wary of country water can rest assured ours has been tested and is completely safe to drink. The gravel driveway is steep and narrow. All wheel drive is highly encouraged for winter travelers. If you get nervous about backing down steep driveways, you can park at the end of the driveway and walk up to the house.
We’re right in the middle of 4 quaint towns. Callicoon (5min drive): First and foremost there’s the all-year farmer’s market, but you can also catch a movie, have a tennis game at Villa Roma, enjoy tapas at a wine bar, and check out the main strip with antique shops, an art gallery, a cheese shop and a few delicious, comfortable restaurants. And a well-stocked grocery store, too! Livingston Manor (25min drive): Wonderful but inexpensive baked goods at Brandenburg Bakery, Main Street Farm market and café for local organic produce, the DeBruce Inn or the Arnold House for a farm to table meal, Catskill Brewery, antique shops, Van Tran Flat covered bridge built in 1860, Catskill Fly Fishing Museum. Very worth a trip! Narrowsburg (20min drive): Ride along the Scenic Delaware River Drive, have brunch at The Heron, grab a cocktail and a slice at The Laundrette, and shop for furnishings at Nest boutique. Roscoe (20min drive): World-class trout fishing, golf and tennis at Tennenah Lake, Duke Pottery, Roscoe Beer Company, Prohibition Distillery, and Roscoe farmer's market (summer only). Also check out the North Branch Inn (5min drive) for cocktails, seasonal menu, and a two-lane wood bowling alley from the early 1900s. Eat Norwegian inspired American comfort food at Hennings Local. Enjoy cocktails and wood oven pizzas at Cochecton Fire Station. Visit Bethel Woods Center for the Arts (site of the 1969 Woodstock festival), Resort World Casino, Villa Roma for skiing/ice skating, and the whole town of Liberty, home to our favorite antique shop Town & Country and authentic Mexican food. If you're here on a summer weekend, our #1 recommendation would be dinner at Unclebrother in Hankins, NY. There is a great article about it in the NYTimes if you want to find out more about it. Check out our guidebook for our complete recommendations, including a fun day-trip to Andes for antiques, cider tasting, and dinner at Brushland Eating House.
  • My fiance and I stayed here with his parents while in the area for a wedding-planning-extravaganza weekend. It was the perfect spot for us + our dog. You get the best of both worlds by staying here - it feels rustic and disconnected but the high quality appliances, furniture, mattresses, sheets/blankets/etc. makes your stay comfortable and luxurious. Thanks for everything!

    Lydia2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I spent a beautiful serene weekend here at Meng’s cabin to celebrate our 5 year relationship anniversary and our newborn’s 2 month birthday. I was originally expecting an isolated cabin in the middle of the woods but was pleasantly surprised to find a chic rustic cabin with luxurious modern touches. The pictures of the cabin don’t do it justice! We were in nature and got to experience waking up to deer roaming outside our window while still staying within town to grab a nice dinner. Throughout our visit Meng was a text away with local suggestions and anything we needed. He even provided a pack n play and Dyson space heater if needed to help with my daughter! Truly a great visit ❤️ Thank you for your hospitality Meng and for the beautiful visit.

    Pranali2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a nice, relaxing weekend retreat here. Saw several deer wandering in the woods in the backyard, and had a light dusting of snow. Great getaway from the grind of the city!

    Leslie2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay! The cabin is beautifully and thoughtfully designed and we loved the quiet location. It was a great fit for our family of three - my daughter loved playing in the yard and my husband was happy to catch several trout in the creek right out front. Meng was also an extremely responsive host. We hope to come back again in the summer!

    Meghan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you are searching for a place to leave the daily grind behind while still being within reach of civilization...you found your spot. The structure itself is rustic, but it is filled with modern conveniences that make your stay utterly enjoyable. Spend your days entertained by nature, a running brook, deer in the yard, and easily pop into town for dinner and drinks. Meng is a fantastic host. The cabin is spotlessly clean, beds are super comfortable and amenities are well curated. One thing to note- if possible arrive during daylight so you can assess the driveway. As the host and others mention it is steep, we had no problem navigating it but backing out for the first time in the dark would have been a challenge. I would recommend this spot with confidence and would love to return in the future.

    Hilary2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Meng’s home was meticulously curated for guests to have a comfortable and seamless experience. He provides everything you could possibly need for your stay and then some. Can’t wait to go back!

    Lauren2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • Love, love! Had a wonderful stay at Meng’s cabin! Cozy, stylish and relaxing. Very private but also a quick drive to town. Perfect Catskills get-away!

    Lauren2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • You will have the utmost privacy during your stay here. A break from noisy environments, the only thing you’ll hear is the nearby river when you step outside. Locals were friendly, WiFi is strong, sound system is beastly, and Meng responded so quickly to messages it was as if they were vacationing with us!

  • The space was the perfect respite...a weekend away from the busyness! Off the beaten path, the house was cozy, had all necessary amenities, and provided great space to stretch out, wander, read and rest. Would be a perfect writers retreat, would also be perfect in warmer months to explore the large pond on the property. The final road to the property is unpaved and would be tough if snow, ice or even fresh rain. Best with 4x4. There is a local grocery and liquor store to stock up on the way.

  • Honestly, this place was deep into the woods but i loved the area. The cabin was so cozy and it had everything we needed! David even had games to play! I loved my stay here

  • Hello All, David was a great host and quickly responded to our inquiries. Overall, the stay was very enjoyable. There is a dock on the edge of the pond that offers stunning sunset and sunrise views, coupled with a stash of firewood for making your own bonfires. This was a wonderful escape from NYC and I would recommend this stay to others. Regards, Kurt

  • A comfortable, relaxing stay at the Maven’s. Great for travelers and a tremendous community resource for Windsor. Just what I needed.

  • I just love this place. I stayed here for a few days last year and wanted to come back because of the vibe at this Airbnb and not because I had any particular reason to be in this area. There's a real focus here on being welcoming, inclusive, and chill, and the personalities of the hosts make you feel relaxed and part of the community while you're here. Also, I can't get over how good the place smells. This time I attended a singing crystal bowls meditation one night, which was really lovely. Highly recommend.

  • Just what we were looking for, for family weekend

    Gina2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a well-appointed home in a beautiful setting. It was challenging to find the house, only because the area is wooded and the driveway is a bit hidden. The summit is full of beauty, and the home makes it easy to be a part of that landscape. We rented the home as a base to stay while visiting the area for a wedding. My family and I had a very nice time taking it easy there.

    Allison2017-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully modern A-frame on a great piece of property --- it's the kind of house you'd find in the Rockies. Very clean, terrific for families.

  • This stay was great! The place was quiet and surrounded by beautiful property. All of the amenities I needed were available and I felt as though I was on a quiet mountain retreat. It was an awesome place to be able to gather with extended family as well.

    Jill2017-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was truly a dream come true. Our party was a party of 6 girls looking for a more quiet spring break getaway. We stayed during the terrible march snow storm and although we were completely snowed in we were super comfortable. The beds are great, the bathroom on the first floor is a literal paradise. (I stood on the first floor so that's not a comparison to the second floor bathroom) there are two full baths which is great for larger parties. The layout of the home is very open and allows interaction while doing just about anything in the common spaces. I cooked every meal during our stay (mom of the group lol) and I'm in love with the kitchen. The homeowner even has this mirror placed in the living room to reflect the tv so you can watch what everyone else is watching while you are cooking!! Literally every detail in this house was added with providing an amazing experience. If we had had the opportunity to explore the grounds I'm sure we would have been even more pleased. There were balls and frisbees available to play with and outside fire pit we would have loved to try and make smores. However if you are snowed in like us you can use the inside fire place. lol we were completely shoveled out. A task that would have been nearly impossible for us to do on our own so the service was VERY much appreciated. All in all this place is a complete gem designed for your relaxation and happiness.

On the edge of a tiny village, this is a great place for a quiet retreat from a busy life. With the yard circled by a beautiful trout steam, you can sit on the large deck, or curl up with a good book in front of the stone fireplace. The knotty pine accents and hardwood floors add to the cozy atmosphere. Look out from the deck across the stream to an open field. Look out the front picture window and see a park like lawn. The nearby neighbors are quiet and friendly.
Less than 7 miles from interstate 88, this is a convenient location. 8 miles from Sidney where there is a nice variety of shops. Only 3 hours from NYC. Book for 7 days for a big discount.
The village is a wonderful example of small town America where you may see kids riding their bikes, moms pushing a stroller, or a family out for a walk. If you want a lot of activities, this is not the place for you. Bainbridge, which is nearby, has a swimming pool which is open through the summer.
  • This home is advertised clean and comfortable, Great Host!!!

This tiny one-room cabin is located on Pleasant Valley Farm with its own large 4-acre fishing pond. Originally built as a duck blind, the 10 x 15 ft. cabin can easily accommodate two adults with a trundle daybed that doubles as a couch. It has solar powered lights and LED lanterns, wood stove, small table and chairs, outdoor picnic table, charcoal grill, fire pit, and an outhouse. Tucked into a grove of trees, this is a very private place to relax, unwind, and go fishing, kayaking, or canoeing.
Pleasant Valley Farm consists of 182 acres of rolling hills, woods, and pasture to hike, explore, and enjoy the great outdoors. The fishing pond spans 4 acres and is stocked with perch, bass, bullheads, crappies, and bluegills. A canoe, rowboat, and kayak are provided for guests to enjoy the pond. Things to note: 1. This is camping. 2. No bathroom, just an outhouse. 3. No running water and no electricity. 4. 5-gallon water dispenser for drinking. 5. Hanging solar shower for bathing. 6. Seasonal rental: May-October. 7. 4WD required to drive to the cabin. 8. This is NOT a swimming pond.
This beautiful countryside is perfect for taking long walks, bike riding, or taking a trip to nearby Callicoon for it’s awesome shops, restaurants, old movie theater, farmers market, and the Delaware River, or to visit historic Woodstock at Bethel Woods. Great places to visit and driving distance: North Branch Inn (2 miles), Callicoon and the Delaware River (5 miles), Jeffersonville (6 miles), Bethel Woods (15 miles), Roscoe (12 miles), Livingston Manor (15 miles), Narrowsburg (20 miles).
  • Great cozy cabin, amazing view and location super private. All you need is there in the cabin. Clean and efficient. Had a great time, will definently come back for a longer stay.

  • Beautiful place! A perfect getaway!

    Myllicent2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything you've read is true. I've never been camping before, and while this isn't necessarily *camping*, Nancy has spoiled me forever. She truly has thought of everything, from lanterns, grilling/cooking supplies, 3(!) boats, and the cleanest, most inviting outhouse I'll probably ever use. To say this place and hospitality is magical is an understatement. I can't wait to be back.

    Lauren2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is wonderful! Very clean with spectacular views! The perfect getaway from the city! You see deer, cows, ducks, frogs, and fireflies! The pond is the best! The bed is really comfy and the outhouse is cleaner than 95% of bathrooms I’ve been in. Lots of amenities in the cabin! Very highly recommended! Beautiful spot in the Catskills with lots of great nearby restaurants. Thank you, Nancy!

    Betty2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a fun experience!! If you want something outdoors but comfortable, this place is a must!

    Erin2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was cozy and wonderful with all the main essentials you need generously supplied for you. The outhouse was really clean and it was nice to have so close by. I loved that the area had animals all around you. I saw geese, cows and deer during the day, and under a star filled night sky I could hear coyotes in the distance and frogs in the pond. I wish I had a longer stay, there was so much to do around town and at the cabin that I didn’t get a chance to do. Also, next time I’d bring extra water for piece of mind since it was my first time being in a cabin without any water source. I spent only two nights and used up too much of the water Nancy kindly supplied washing hands, dishes, and rinsing shampoo and conditioner out of my hair. Haha. It was a great learning experience!

    Megan2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful scenery! Your own slice of heaven. Don’t over pack they have provided a lot for you already. A little muddy when it rains take that into consideration when driving your car down. Must have real AWD to get out.Our mid size suv almost didn’t get up the hill after the rain the previous night. Batter operated fans are helpful in the Duck Blind to cool you down in hot nights.

    Kaytea2019-07-22T00:00:00Z
  • A picturesque Hudson Valley School painting tucked into the countryside. The cabin has EVERYTHING. We truly felt the care and hospitality put into this space. We planned for a weekend of camping, however, ended up feeling like we were on a mini vacation at an exclusive resort. There was every type of boat; Two kayaks, a rowboat, AND a canoe. We were overwhelmed with our choices. Nature was in full effect during our stay. But even in the rain, Duckblind held a majestic beauty. The pond was full of life and I was quickly a small child in the banks. And...the outhouse smelled better than some fully functioning bathrooms. We mention this detail to say that Nancy thought of EVERYTHING. We would highly recommend that you book multiple days.

  • I have to say, out of all the Airbnb’s I’ve stayed at, this was by far the best! Douglas thought of absolutely everything! I felt so at home without actually being at home. I definitely will be returning!

    Jennifer2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place is wonderful! We came in winter to do some hiking and Doug provided maps and trail suggestions to make this easy. The kitchen was well-stocked with much more than expected which was a pleasant surprise. We had plenty of comfortable room for 5 adults. Cell service is poor as mentioned in the listing, but we were able to get to the house with no problems and the Wifi worked great once we where there. Doug was quick to respond and provided a lot of useful information about the town and house. If you're planning on coming in winter, an all-wheel drive vehicle or snow tires are recommended as the house is up a steep driveway and the surrounding roads are steep and may not be plowed. The house's driveway was plowed for us during our stay.

    Christine2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Doug’s place is super clean and well equipped with everything you need! Such a cozy stay. Would definitely book again!

  • Wonderful small home off the beaten path with a fully stocked kitchen, large common space for gathering and games. Three great bedrooms. Directions and instructions very clear, even winding our way after dark. We stayed only a night but would love to explore another time.

  • Great clean house with an open layout.

    Riccardo2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Clean with all the amenities you could need! We stayed whilst we attended a wedding at Stonewall Estates. It was a great location for us and we couldn’t recommend Doug’s place enough!

    Megan2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at your place...very comfortable, clean and the kitchen was well stocked. Wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks for your great hospitality. Susan, Nancy and Diane.

  • We had a great stay at Doug's place. There were six people in our group to attend a wedding nearby, and we were very comfortable. The house was clean and spacious. Doug was a responsive host, and the checkin process was very easy. Would definitely stay again if we are ever in the area again.
