Places to stay in Currie
Need a week vacation!! This would be a great place to stay. This beautiful basement has walk out doors that will take you out to a breath taking scenery of the outdoors with the Des Moines river going right through the back yard. There are beautiful flower gardens to walk through, and a large pond to sit beside and just listen to the birds singing or even see the deer walking through.
I also have access for campers and tents for a larger get together, this will be an extra charge. If its hunting your comming for I'm only yards away from a large DNR Hunting grounds. There are groomed snowmobile trails close by, and cross country skiing.
We have no grocery store here but there is a gas station/ convenience store in town. Currie also has a park that you can take the kids there and have a great time, you can also play pickle ball there, horse shoes, basket ball and tennis. If it's the Shetek lakes you need, they are only a few miles away. The Shetek state Park is 3 miles away so you can rent (canoes, paddle boards. Paddle boats, kayaks and there is also a gift shop there. 37 miles away are the Jeffers Petroglyphs 20 miles away is the Laura Engles Wilder home and museum, the Pageant will be July (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) There are 3 golf courses within 10 miles.
  • Great place!

  • Our family had a wonderful stay during the Christmas holidays. Robin is super nice and responsive. Rooms are cozy and comfortable.

  • Robin’s Nest is the perfect place to stay while in southern Minnesota! Robin is an excellent host and she has a beautiful place!

  • Beautiful house with everything we needed. We arrived late. Robin had the fireplace on and the house was so welcoming. I highly recommend staying at Robin's Nest!!

    Jaci2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • The place was as described and very spacious. Robin was easy to communicate with and able to help us immediately when we had trouble figuring out the thermostat, which was appreciated.

    Eve2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot in Currie. Such a fun place if you want to spend a little time in a virtual park at Robin's place. Unique touches all through the property. Comfy master bedroom bed. Well equipped kitchen. Nice bright space. We'd stay again with all the fun things to do at the End Of the Line museum and the Shetek State Park and winery near by. Loved the food at Lakeside too. Don't miss it. Great hospitality.

    Michele2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • Robin is super communicative, getting back to me within 15 minutes of messaging her. The basement unit is spacious - plenty of room for 7 adults. The kitchen is well-stocked and the property is lovely - perfect for a getaway from the city. Heads-up, there is little to no cell phone service in the town. The town of Currie is tiny, so we spent a low-key weekend hiking at Lake Shetek State Park and relaxing around the fire pit at night.

  • This was our second stay at Serene & Simple. Angela is a wonderful host and very accommodating and responsive. We will definitely stay again!

    Cela2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay at Angela’s place. It was comfortable and clean. We appreciated the extras, such as breakfast items, mints, and toiletries. My daughter adored the sweet cat. The location was very convenient for visiting Walnut Grove.

    Jen2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Angela was very quick when communicating. Everything was sparkling clean and Rosie, the cat, was playful and entertaining. My first Airbnb experience was lovely.

  • Thank you, Angela, for sharing your lovely home with us!

    Sarah2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in Angela’s home! She was quick to answer any questions we had or give suggestions about what to do in the area. The breakfast items she left for us were an added bonus, along with the basket full of commonly forgotten necessities such as toothbrush, soap, shampoo, etc. We loved playing with her friendly cat. We would highly recommend staying at this home if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable place when visiting this area!

Historic 3 bedroom home in small historic prairie town near Lake Shetek. Beautiful flower gardens and a view of all the action in town. 3 blocks from historic End-O-Line Railroad Park and Museum. 20 miles from the Laura Engels Wilder home.
This home was built in 1890 by one of the 2 founding brothers of Currie; Archibald Currie. He had it built for his mother. One of the photos is the oldest picture we have found of the house. It has been added on to several times. We have updated the entire house but there are still a few finishing touches to be done. The home is kid friendly but not kid proof. Please supervise the children. Although the house is on the main thoroughfare of Currie, it is more quiet than anywhere in a large town or city. This is not a 5 star hotel. It is an old house that we have fixed up but we love it and enjoy sharing it with others. The bathroom has a tub and shower with a ceramic tile enclosure. The main floor and second floor have been updated and improved. The basement is an old style basement that is occasionally damp. The furnace, water heater, etc. are there but no reason for guests to use it except that it has an extra toilet there that can be handy. The main floor bedroom has a comfortable real queen size bed. The upstairs bedrooms each have new queen size memory foam beds and one room has an additional single bed with mattress and box spring. The main floor has a living room with 50" Roku TV and WiFi, dining room with large antique table with extra leaves that can sit 12 comfortably, large fully stocked kitchen with lots of space plus an island, large capacity washer/dryer right off kitchen, main bedroom across the hall from the bathroom, and maybe the best room in the house is the sun room with glass on 3 sides that looks out on the main street of Currie where you can watch the action of town (even though it is very quiet). Several outdoor spaces on a large lot include a front porch with seating that is great in a rain storm, a large concrete patio on the side of the house with a fire pit, gas grill, table and chairs, several flower gardens, a couple of vegetable gardens an active bird bath and great neighbors. There is plenty of parking on the street on 2 sides of the house. You can also park in the driveway of the garage but street parking is closer. There is an old garage and a tool shed that guests do not have access to.
Currie is a very small midwestern farm community and it feels like that. Most people will wave and if you do not wave back they will know you are from out-of-town. Everyone in town knows everyone else and they look out for each other. They love to meet new people so make sure you introduce yourself.
  • Check our the book on the table with the pictures of the changes to the house.

    Juliane2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The home was very well taken care of. Streets are currently tore up for waterline/sewage construction, however there are alleys that make the home 100% accessible. Nice location if you have a need to be in the region.

    Aubrey2019-10-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice house downtown Currie right across from a bar and a couple of restaurants. Plenty of space and well-equipped! Helpful host who was quick to respond to our questions

    Betsy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Joel & Carla’s place for about two months. The house was clean and has everything you would need for an extended stay. It’s in a very walkable small town with a couple of bars and a couple of restaurants just across the street. Internet was fast and the hosts were always quick to respond when we had any questions. Enjoyed the stay.

    Robert & Marie2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Joel and Carla's 100 year old home was absolutely more then we expected. It was a weekend away with the girls to go biking, hiking and water sports on the area lakes and it was a perfect fit for our small group of ladies. The home is well maintained and very clean. Carla and Joel were prompt in any correspondences we had up to our stay and provided easy directions for home needs and they gave us great recommendations for local restaurants. I hope to go back next year and take my husband for a weekend getaway. Thanks Joel and Carla

    Lisa2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were three couples staying at the house to attend a family reunion. The accommodations were great. The house was clean, well furnished, and the beds comfortable. We did not use the kitchen at all so can't speak to the appliances but assume all would be in good working order based on the rest of the house.

    Sharon2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed their beautiful, spacious home. Nice quiet town with a great restaurant, Lakeside Hideway in walking distance. They are very prompt in their responses. We enjoyed our stay in Currie MN and plan to go again in the future.

    Janet2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • The house was welcoming & comfortable in a quiet, beautiful spot. We had everything we needed to feel at home. Joel & Carla are very friendly and easy to talk to. I wish we could have stayed longer. We absolutely loved it!

Disconnect in your own private, rustic house on the prairie! Bird watch from the deck, take the canoe out, swim or float in the lake, bring your boat or fish from the dock on the calm, wilderness waters in rural Minnesota. There are two, private docks to access the water and canoes available for you! This "Little House on the Prairie" retreat is perfect for multi-generational family groups, telling stories and connecting to the wilderness and wildlife.
There is one pull out love seat on the main floor that is accessible and 7 bedrooms upstairs - take your pick! There is also a pool table, large living room, large dining room, kitchen, washroom outside of the bathroom and the bathroom with tub/shower on the main floor. There are a few barns on the property and one houses our chickens for part of the year. There is a 2 acre garden and the property is on Bloody Lake, Minnesota and full of wildlife. If you have any luck, you'll spot a whitetail deer trying to nibble down the veggies in the garden. Please be careful of the pheasants and turkeys in the driveway! The house sleeps comfortably 15-16 people but we recommend around 8 guests because there is only one bathroom. It is an old farm house! More people are welcome to camp on the private property and we even have a camper hookup. --UPDATES-- We want you to love your stay and we listened to feedback and have improved the space! We have done as much as we can to maintain the antique features so it feels like you have stepped back in time. - New counter top in washroom outside of bathroom - New, easy to use stove/oven - Bedrooms overhauled! Completely removed old, peeling wallpaper, repaired damages, painted all 7 bedrooms and closets, repaired ceilings, restored antique linoleum and hardwood where possible, and renovated the upstairs hallway - Bed sizes have been updated - New hand railings on the stairs - Various touch-ups throughout the home
The neighborhood is pretty much just you and the wildlife. There are no immediate neighbors. There is a bar/restaurant a couple miles down the road and town about 5 miles away.
  • Very affordable & sleeps a lot of people! The outdoors was very peaceful! Could have sat on the dock all day. Kids loved the swimming!

  • We stayed for 3 nights during the week. My Children thought it was the best house they have ever been in. My FIL felt so relaxed and gushed about it being the perfect vacation. My Husband also thought it was relaxing and enjoyed having space for his me time. I loved the old home. It felt like visiting my Grandparents. I cooked and found everything I needed for dinners in the kitchen. The house is stocked with everything you could need. We even pulled a radio out and listened to the oldies. The home was really clean. The beds were nice and the linens were clean and comfy. The window air units were hardly needed, but a welcome for midday naps. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Grandpa taught the kids to fish. There were spare fishing poles if needed and life jackets as well. Catfish was mostly what was caught. Everyone was sad to leave but planning for the next time we can come back.

  • We stayed at the Seven Gables at the end of July and our group of friends really enjoyed the place. Molly and Paul were great hosts and very responsive to messages and made sure our stay was enjoyable. There was a lot to do in the area and the house has a lot of space inside and out. It was a great place to stay.

Hear the whistles of daily freight trains as they pass your second-story room in this old farmhouse. Walnut Grove with a population of about 800, is one the many Midwest towns once called home by the family of Charles and Caroline Ingalls, "Ma and Pa" to Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of "The Little House on the Prairie" series of books. Visit the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum in town, the Ingalls Dugout Site on the banks of Plum Creek, and the Sod House in nearby Sanborn to enrich your stay.
The house is a blend of old farmhouse and newer remodeled home. The tea room, parlor, and upstairs bedrooms and bath are reserved for guests. The rest of the home is the private host area. There are three bedrooms in the house. >>This listing is for “The Little Room on the Prairie.” << It is the smallest room, with a full size bed with a heated mattress pad, a small closet, and a single chair. Note: this room has no heat. A small space heater can be provided if needed. Other rooms (separate listings) are "Plum Corner," the largest and warmest room, with two queen beds, spacious closet and room for two chairs; and "Rose's Room" with two queen beds, average-sized closet, small table, tiny book case, no chairs and please note: no heat. A small space heater can be provided if needed. All listings include use of a shared bath with a generously-sized shower, toilet, and small sink. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The two-lane state highway is well traveled by trucks during the day; relatively quiet at night. Freight trains pass by at all hours of the day and they blow their whistles. Thankfully there are no clanking bells and crossing arms. Cold winter nights can mean chilly rooms. I’ll do my best to keep you warm, but in winter you might want to bring your coziest jammies and a pair of warm socks. As previously mentioned, The Little Room on the Prairie and Rose's Room have no furnace vents. In the olden days homes simply were not heated and cooled as they are today.
Visitors come to Walnut Grove to tour the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum. The museum and gift store have seasonal hours (www.walnutgrove.org). Three weekends in July, Laura fans come for the Wilder Pageant, an outdoor reenactment of the Ingalls Family’s prairie life. --Nellie's Cafe serves breakfast and lunch; closed Sundays. --The Walnut Grove Bar & Grill serves lunch and dinner, has a full bar with pool tables, and a liquor store; closed Sundays. They open at 10:30 a.m. but closing times vary for the liquor store, kitchen and bar; due to weather, day of the week, and other factors--it's a good idea to call for times. --Bubai Food Store has fresh, frozen, and prepared foods, sundries, ice and a purified water dispenser. They also feature a wide selection of Asian grocery items. Walnut Grove has a thriving Hmong population. --Hoyt Oil and Convenience store has food, drinks, snacks, gas, lottery, and an ATM machine. -- Fond Memories at the Creamery is a well-stocked scrapbooking, arts and crafts store located on Main Street downtown. @fondmemorieswalnutgrove --Jossie's Junk With Purpose is a wonderful country home decor store on the west end of town. Many of the home's furnishings came from this local shop. Wed-Sat 9-5 Tracy, MN is the next town to the west, 15 minutes away; groceries, vintage and thrift stores, hardware stores, a Subway sandwich shop, and my dentist. Marshall is north on Hwy 59 for 15 minutes more; Walmart, Menards, Runnings, HyVee, Aldi, a touchless car wash, liquor store, Culvers, Goodwill and much more, plus Southwest Minnesota State University. Go Mustangs! Revere is the closest town to the east, about a 5 minute drive; and home of Bruiser's Place; real good food and a full bar. Lamberton is 7 minutes further east. It's a quaint town and home of the Main Street Peddlar antique store, and The Knitted Swan, a store with a diverse selection of craftsman-made upcycled furniture, yarn, and knitted goods and supplies. Owner Bill Swan is responsible for many of the upgrades made to this old house. During early-August, Sturgis Rally bikers pass by in impressive numbers, with a 7-hour due west journey ahead of them. Then, a few weeks later, they head back east. Walnut Grove is just one of the many tiny rural farm towns in southwestern Minnesota, but it seemed a good spot for the Ingalls to settle. I, and the many avid fans of Laura and her family agree, "east or west, home is best." While you're here, you are home.
  • Lori’s place was wonderful. Quaint, comfortable, and extra touches like teas and fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies. Staying here was a perfect stop on my way to an important business meeting. I will definitely stay again!

    Cheryl2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lori was a friendly and warm welcome in the dead of a Minnesota winter. Wonderful conversation into the night with many topics covered ! The room was comfortable and the bath impeccably appointed. Highly recommended.

  • Very nice house setting and very nice host.

    Samira2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lori’s home is beautiful—filled with warm and thoughtful touches for Little House fans but general visitors will feel at home too. Comfy bed, very clean, lovely porch and sitting area, and friendly host!

    Lesley2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Far exceeded all Of my expectations. Clean, friendly, unparalleled hospitality. We will come to Walnut Grove again just to stay here 💙

    Kathleen2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very easy to find and very accommodating with check-in. I wanted to go visit some events going on in town and she told me to "go have fun and come back when I'm done, I'll be here."

    Sandy2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lori's was absolutely superb! She was there to answer any questions, her location was perfect for touring the Little House sites in the area, the house was immaculate, and Lori is a terrific hostess! I was a little worried about the "no AC" part, but one of the bedrooms has an AC and although it was July 1, the weather was not so warm that it was awful. While we had chosen the smaller room, as Lori had no other guests that evening, she allowed us to choose any of the rooms. We chose "Rose's Room" and it was incredibly comfortable. We slept SO well! I am a fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder, and now of Lori's and her home.

  • Our Group LOVED this "Grecian Getaway"! Thank you and pi, pi, Sam!! ;)

    Derek2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sam’s home is extraordinary! It is super clean with new, very comfortable beds, new large clean pillows, bedding and white towels. Plus, each bedroom is setup with its own private television set. The upstairs is carpeted with leather furniture, while the kitchen, bathrooms and the rest of the home is tiled with marble, granite or ceramic floors. Definitely a Grecian style. SO COOL! We definitely felt like we were closer to the Mediterranean than in Southwest Minnesota! The home is well lite and well equipped. The giant twin washer and dryer machines, one set upstairs and an identical set downstairs was a blessing for our large group. Overall, Sam’s home is super cozy, reasonably priced, can comfortably accommodate/sleep 13-persons, and the neighborhood seemed super safe. Sam is a gracious Host who did not delay in responding to our questions. We intend to extend our stay another night, and have already booked to stay again on our way back from the Black Hills! FIVE-STARS!! Thanks Sam!!

Hear the whistles of daily freight trains as they pass your second-story room in this old farmhouse. Walnut Grove is one the many Midwest towns once called home by the family of Charles and Caroline Ingalls, "Ma and Pa" to Laura Ingalls Wilder, author of "The Little House on the Prairie" series of books. This turn of the century home is on the eastern edge of this rural Minnesota town of about 700 people.
The house is a blend of old farmhouse and newer remodeled home. The tea room, parlor, and upstairs bedrooms and bath are reserved for guests. The rest of the home is the private host area. There are three bedrooms in the house. >>This listing is for “Plum Corner.” << It is the largest room, with a 2 queen-size beds, 2 chairs, 2 lamps, a shared nightstand, shelf unit and a generous closet. This is the warmest room in winter and the only room with a furnace vent. Other rooms (separate listings) are "The Little Room on the Prairie," the smallest room with a full size bed, 2 nightstands with lamps, a small closet and a single small chair; and "Rose's Room" with two queen beds, average-sized closet, small table, tiny book case, no chairs and please note: neither room has a furnace vent. As previously mentioned, The Little Room on the Prairie and Rose's Room have no furnace vents, but Plum Corner does. In the olden days homes simply were not heated and cooled as they are today.
Visitors come to Walnut Grove to tour the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum. The museum and gift store have seasonal hours (www.walnutgrove.org). Three weekends in July, Laura fans come for the Wilder Pageant, an outdoor reenactment of the Wilder's prairie life. -- Fond Memories at the Creamery is a great scrapbooking, arts and crafts store located on Main Street downtown. @fondmemorieswalnutgrove --Jossie's Junk With Purpose is a wonderful upcycled home decor store on the west end of town. Many of the home's furnishings came from this local shop. Wed-Sat 9-5 Tracy, MN is the next town to the west, 15 minutes away; groceries, vintage and thrift stores, hardware stores, a Subway sandwich shop, and my dentist. Marshall is north on Hwy 59 for 15 minutes more; Walmart, Menards, Runnings, HyVee, car wash, liquor store, Culvers, Goodwill and much more, plus Southwest Minnesota State University. Go Mustangs! Revere is the next town to the east, about a 5 minute drive; and home of Bruiser's Place; real good food and drinks.
  • Lori's place is beautiful--even better than the photos--with many darling touches such as a sitting area full of Little House books and a porch swing. The house is very clean, check-in was easy, and Lori is a warm and welcoming host. Her house was a road trip highlight. Thank you, Lori!

From the soothing color pallet to the quality furnishings, every room in the Buffalo Lake House creates an experience you'll not soon forget. The kitchen features slate appliances and ample storage space. Three relaxing queen bedrooms ensure a good night's rest, and a unique upper level offers the perfect space for younger guests. The house also features two living spaces, sun porch, large upper deck, lower level patio, and ramp access.
A perfect balance of secluded retreat and posh comfort, this family friendly lake house is located on an environmental prairie lake. Disconnect from the hustle and bustle but keep all the comforts of home close at hand. With extra attention focused on the unique needs of families, even parents can enjoy a well-deserved break and enjoy on-site family friendly activities.
If you'd like some alone time: Buffalo Lake is a small prairie lake near Dovray, Minnesota. With only one farm down the road and a lightly used public boat launch, you'll likely have the lake all to yourself. If you'd like to connect with the locals: - Painted Prairie Vineyard, family run and kid friendly, is a quick five minute drive (hey, that's close enough for a daily visit). - Train nuts and history buffs can head to End-o-the-Line Railroad Park in Currie (10 minutes). From here hop on the bike trail (or back in the car) and head to... - Lake Shetek State Park, which features a public swimming beach, trails, picnic grounds, and more. (15 min) - If you're visiting in July, check out the Wilder Pageant. The outdoor drama is based on Laura Ingalls Wilder's time in Walnut Grove, MN. (30 min) - Learn from the area's indigenous people at Jeffers Petroglyphs. Look carefully and you'll find more than 5,000 rock carvings spanning back over 7,000 years. (35 minutes) - Public Pools in Slayton and Tracy. (both 25 minutes)
  • This lake home was perfect for our week-long stay - even in the winter. We had 7 adults and there was plenty of beds, bathrooms and common space. We cooked a lot of meals in the full-size kitchen. The big table allowed for crafts, games, puzzles and meals together. Our nephew enjoyed ice fishing and pheasant hunting. The location was both a positive and a negative - it was very quiet and peaceful but also far from groceries, restaurants, shopping, etc. We can’t wait to visit again in the summer!

    Chad2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Elizabeth is a great host. Her home is everything that is advertised. Her fully stocked kitchen was appreciated as we went to cook our meals. It was late fall when we stayed so we were unable to enjoy the lake, kayaking, or fire pit. Great additional amenities. When we needed something, Elizabeth was very quick to respond. Our stay was perfect. We hope to be back next year.

    Kathy2019-11-17T00:00:00Z

  • This is an amazing find! Elizabeth is wonderful to work with! She was very attentive to our needs, always responding within a very short time. The home is clean and well supplied. We found a lovely kitchen, beautiful furniture and decor throughout the house, and comfortable beds! The view from the deck is breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. An added little bonus is all of the wildlife in the area! We loved this place!!

  • This is an extremely beautiful home. Very modern and clean with pretty much anything you would need. Hostess is easy to work with. We definitely will be back

  • From the location, to the children's room, to all of the wonderful amenities in this home, our experience with Elizabeth as a host and the lake house were second to none. This was the best airbnb property I've visited. I will treasure my memory of coffee on the deck while watching a beautiful sunrise on the lake for a long time. Highly, highly recommended.

  • Very comfortable

    Brian2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda’s place was great. A quiet little one bed place that was just perfect for my wife and I. It was all one big room except for the bathroom/shower, which also had a small roof to hang al your clothes or put them in a dresser. There were board games, card games, magazines, and little treats out for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend this for someone needing a place to stay for a night or two as they pass through town, or if they are looking for a place to get away for a few nights, or longer!

    Louis2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Ronda's place was very inviting and clean! We didn't get to stay long in the area, but the booklet she provided gave plenty of suggestions on good places to eat and activites/hiking trails around Mountain Lake. There was also a full kitchen, lounge area, and good amount of closet space to hang clothes. Her dog also gave us a friendly hello! Would highly recommend staying at Ronda's!

    Robert2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is a true gem! A large private space with everything you could ever need, plus the peace and quiet of the countryside. The property/garden are absolutely gorgeous and the dog is such a cutie! Check-in and communication went very smoothly and Ronda was a super hospitable host. This was exactly what I needed after a long day of cross-country driving. A+!

The master bedroom on the main level of the house. Budget friendly warm cozy room with a very comfy king bed. There are two other bedrooms on the main floor. The shared bathroom is closest to this room. It is a secluded room in the far corner of the house. It is the only room on the main level that has 2 windows. One faces west and the other faces north. To book the entire main level, please book rooms separately, message me letting me know, and I will drop 5% off price of each booking.
Everything that you need including downtown is within walking distance. Private parking, internet, wifi, are included. Washer and dryer on site which is available for your use free of charge. A full kitchen which includes a full size refrigerator stove / oven microwave, toaster, and dishwasher. There is also basic cookware. Many of our tenants have been wind farm workers. We have been very flexible with schedules and understand that you often don't know exactly how long you will be working at your job sites. We will work with you and allow you to book for shorter time periods as the time gets closer for your contract to end. Just keep us updated. Please let us know a tentative time period for when you think you might be leaving. We will work with you so that you don't accidentally over book your stay so you don't accidentally pay for days that you won't be here. We will not give your room to anyone else until you have finished your job so don't worry that we will let someone else book your room. Just let us know your situation and we will hold the room until you know when you are going to be leaving. We can't give a refund because usually we have already used the money to pay for bills so please only book for when you know you will be here. We can always add time on as you know how much time you have left to be here.
We live right in the middle of town on Hiawatha. Everything is within walking distance such as downtown, grocery stores, gas stations, McDonald's, churches etc. It's a very nice town. People are kind and friendly, and will say hi but are not bothersome. In my neighborhood, many people have lived here a long time and some are renters. It is diverse as in people from all ages, ethnicities live here. The town itself was named after the local pipestone quarries that have existed for millenia which the Native Americans who made pipes used to get materials for their sacred pipes. The quarries are still used today. You may visit the waterfall located at the quarries and walk along the now paved pathways and trails around the site. We have museums and other attractions for your visit. The town is growing as businesses keep moving in.

Come get away for a quiet weekend in the beautiful Midwest, or enjoy a week away in the Summer with your family. Enjoy a modern, rustic home out in the country with all the necessary conveniences. A cabin like feel, with lofted sleeping arrangements, cozy living room, big shower, and lots of yard space.
The house is a refurbished school house which was originally located on the property as a country school. Joel began the project in 2014, and lived there with his wife and son until recently moving to a different farm in the area.
Edgerton is a quaint Dutch-heritage community that is three miles from the place. There is a grocery store, gas station, cafe/coffee shop, bakery and many other shops. The town also has a park and swimming pool.
  • Great option for the Edgerton area. Quite modern and very clean. Charming.

    Debbie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Was able to take a lovely 3 mile walk on the quiet country road.

    Vicki2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great. The cabin is cute and stylish and has everything you would need for a nice countryside getaway. The place is comfy, the bed is great, there are cats that at some point greet you that you fall in love with and there are even cows that stop by and say “hi, hello I’m a cow how’re you?” The place is close enough to town too so that if you want to get out and do anything you don’t have to go far but if you want to stay in, you feel far enough from everything else. The place was exactly what we hoped it was and the hosts were very hospitable and helpful if we had any questions. All in all, if you want a nice getaway spot; this is it.

    Paul2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful home! We loved the private space, the beautiful kitchen and watching the cows trot around in their field from the warmth of the couch.

    Jesse2020-01-18T00:00:00Z

    Christine2020-01-01T00:00:00Z

  • You’ll definitely find peace and quiet at this quaint little Airbnb. It’s worth noting the attic access ladder to get into the loft, as it could be a challenging climb to and from bed if you aren’t physically equipped for that specific means of going up and down. We enjoyed resting in the clean and updated space. Great price point for this area and the amenities offered.

    Jennifer2019-09-08T00:00:00Z

Enjoy two separate living room areas; a “man cave” in the basement with a pool table, darts, and TV; a finished garage; a patio in back with a fenced in yard; and an office! When I say a beautiful, large, cozy home... that is exactly what you are getting. Enjoy the space with family but also enjoy alone time at the same time. The open concept kitchen allows for a wonderful social time while the separate living area, “man cave”/basement, and garage allows for some peace and quiet if you need it too! Enjoy WiFi, a 55 inch Smart TV with Hulu and Netflix, free laundry in the house, and much more! Planning something special? Let me know! I will help in any way I can. NOTE: There is a camera on the front entrance of the home. This is for safety purposes.
My home has an awesome location! It is a mere 3 blocks away from the local YMCA and county library. It’s also about 4-5 blocks away from downtown. Perfect walking distance if you’ve had a few! Downtown has tons of clothing shops, bars, and stores! The Marshall Armory, pool, golf course, and tennis courts are less than a mile away as well. My home is across town from SMSU and the Red Baron Arena. Need groceries? Don’t worry! Hy-Vee, Walmart, and Aldi’s are all within 2 miles! I have great neighbors who keep to themselves! Please remember to be respectful.
  • KaLea was a great host! She went above and beyond!!

    Kelly2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at KaLea’s place for around three months. It had everything we needed for the stay. Her place was clean and check-in process was easy. Her place is big as the description on Airbnb says, and was very clean. WiFi was fast throughout our stay. The location was great, very walkable to downtown and local restaurants. Enjoyed the stay.

  • Nice house, spacious and open. Well decorated and comfy. Lots of space to spread out. Great host.

  • This home was a perfect space for our family visiting for the holidays. Sparkly clean and very cozy. Many personal touches that were unexpected!!

    Heidi2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at KaLea’s place. It was absolutely gorgeous and spotless. We were in town for a hockey tournament and our team was staying in some of the most disgusting hotels and we decided to book our first Airbnb. We couldn’t have been happier. The home was so cozy and KaLea communicated so well with us. Definitely recommend staying at KaLea’s house!

  • This stay was one of the best I’ve had with Airbnb! Such a great house. Comfy, cozy, high end touches and sparkling clean! KaLea was kind, responsive and left a note and other special touches. Comfy beds, plenty of space & redone bathrooms, a stocked open kitchen and lots of other amenities. Great location too. Just perfect. Down to the sweet Christmas tree :)

  • This was a great home while visiting family in Marshall. KaLea was a great host and we definitely plan on staying again in the future.

Lake living means lake activities! A sunset pontoon ride, fishing for walleye or perch, kayaking, and lakeside fires in the fire-pit are just a few of the summer-time offerings. Take a walk down the road adjacent the B&B and enjoy the beauty of fresh air, open skies, and nature! Winter in Minnesota is cold, but absolutely stunning sunsets and views abound. We are always adding new ideas for wintertime activities such as snowshoeing, ice-fishing, and local ice skating.
Your visit should include a trip to local parks such as the Hole-in-the-Mountain Park in Lake Benton, with its many walking paths, picturesque views, distinctive foliage, and wildlife. While the Lake Benton/Tyler areas are rural, both towns offer many unique browsing, shopping, restaurant, and coffee shop experiences.

Lovely lake home on Lake Shetek, MN that offers some of the best sunset views over the lake. The lake home has recently been remodeled to offer five bedrooms that can accommodate the perfect setting for family vacations. Just a few of the amenities you will love include a camper hook up, firepit, hot tub, full kitchen with dishwasher, washer and dryer. Lake Shetek offers great fishing and recreational boating. Life is better at the lake!
The views to the lake are unreal! You will be instantly relaxed as you look at the water and enjoy the nature of Lake Shetek.
Wonderful neighborhood that is great for going on walks or bike rides.
  • House is great, Sara is a great host. Amenities in the home are all quite nice. Thanks Sara.

    John2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great views of Lake Shetek. Sara and Jeremy were always quick to respond and recommended great local golfing areas.

    Caleb2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Value was awesome. Lakefront property with hot tub, and kayaks. Plenty of space to play yard games and enough bathrooms and bedrooms to support our party. Sara was always quick to respond which was greatly appreciated! Would recommend!

  • Sara was a great host. She was always quick with response times anytime we had a question. House was nice and clean and right next to the water. Would definitely refer other ppl to stay, and would rent again.

  • Sara's home on Lake Shetek was an amazing place for our family vacation. From the toddler up to grandpa, everyone had wonderful time. The amenities of the space were fantastic - an excellent kitchen with all the cooking supplies that you could need, a grill, fire pit, hammock, hot tub, and of course, the lake itself. Kayaking the lake and swimming right off the end of the dock were fantastic. We can't wait to return for our next family vacation!

    Suzie2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin on a great lake! Came from the Twin Cities with a group of friends for the weekend and had a blast enjoying the outdoors as well as the indoor features like the smart tv and full kitchen. Highly recommend Sara and her place!

    Gabriel2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great for some summer fun. We have a lot of family on Lake Shetak but we never get to stay overnight because there is never enough room. This was perfect for us. We slepted 6 adults and 4 kids perfectly. Everything is very nice. Very reasonable for a weekend at the lake. Sara was great to work with too. Very friendly in her messages.

A beautiful, newly remodeled 2 bedroom apartment located above a modern art gallery and dentist office. It features 2 large bedrooms, each with full closets and 2 double beds, a large bathroom, with a separate tub and shower and a huge open kitchen/dining/living room. It is situated in the heart of Luverne, within walking distance to boutiques, museums, the coffee shop, the brewery and restaurants. It is just a couple minutes off I-90 and only a 10 minute drive to Blue Mound State Park.
  • Spacious and lovely. You will not be disappointed.

    Dannielle2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We've stayed at Nicole's place a few times and it doesn't disappoint. It's quiet, comfortable, and spacious. There are art books and artwork throughout the apartment. And there's a few guitars on the wall for the musically inclined. We really enjoy being able to stay there when we visit Luverne.

    David2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • We LOVED staying in Nicole's loft! I hosted a 'mom's night in' and invited a dozen friends over for a get together. Everyone was so impressed with the space! We will absolutely be staying here again. The space is cool and contemporary, yet incredibly inviting. Thanks again!!

    Whitney2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Hosts were very communicative, flexible, and have a wonderfully unique place that you simply must visit to experience! Many, many thanks!

  • Loved the decor. Comfy beds. Neat as a pin. Nicole was quick to meet us. Great place to stay

    Susan2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Luvene is a small town close to Sioux Fall and right by Freeway-90: the house is literally 3min from the free way, making it a convenient place to stop for the night. This unit is on the second floor of an old brick house in the downtown. There is parking place at the back of the building. Despite of aged appearance of the building from outside, inside it was very neatly kept. This 2 bd/1 ba unit is tastefully decorated and full of character. The host family took great care of the place, and responded promptly to our questions. My family enjoyed our one night stay there. One comment though: because of the age of the house, "old house smell“ could be an issue in some poorly vented corner, such as the storage closet for linen and cleaning item. Most of my family did not seem to notice, but I may have a more sensitive nose and sensed the lingering smell.

    Leo2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was great! Lots of space, comfy, private with lots of great places within walking distance that we could go to if we wanted to venture out. We would definitely stay there again!

    Dawn2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t really show how nice this apartment is. Everything is a couple notches above what you would expect from the listing! Great communication with Nicole. I totally recommend this place!

Please come and enjoy our newly redecorated spacious home that our friends and family have described as providing them with a feeling of vacationing at a Grand Lodge. You will enjoy all of the privacy and freedom of being on private property in the country. Take a stroll around the grounds, pick rhubarb (or weeds from the flower garden if so inclined). We are the ideal location for Wilder Pageant attendees as you will be taking in the authentic sights and sounds on the banks of Pell Creek.
Our Rural serene space on this planet is Home of Laura Ingalls Wilder and we are 3 miles from the Wilder Pageant grounds. We are also minutes from Lake Laura, Wilder Museum, Nellies Café, Walnut Grove Bar and Grill. You will find some unique shopping finds at Fond Memories and Jossie's Junk With Purpose. We are also a close drive to Lake Shetek State Park. In nearby Tracy you will find Bonnie and Clydes Bar and Grill along with Bonnie's Botique and Lights and Beyond store. There is also an Aquatic center in Tracy. There are some great additional dining experiences to be enjoyed at Bittons Road house in Garvin, The Farmhouse in Wanda and even fine dining at Lakeside Hideaway in Currie.
We reside on our own acreage and enjoy our privacy. It is quiet with no "big city noises" interfering with our serene property. We have an abundance of trees and a creek that has become a haven for not only Mark and I but, for the wildlife that we see on a daily basis right out of our windows or from our large deck.
  • The stay was “AMAZING”. I would strongly stay again in future and would recommend my friends and family. 🙏

My place is close to Pipestone Monument, Laura Ingalls Wilder Trail, Marshall, MN, Parks, Lakes. You’ll love my place because of the location, the ambiance, and the outdoors space. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).
Quiet cozy home. Two restaurants in town, a lake for recreation or fishing and a three par 9 hole golf course.
Quiet and peaceful. Close to a church and blocks away from downtown restaurant
  • This lovely home was a perfect place to stay. The home was totally well appointed and we loved staying here. It was cozy and quiet and we slept very well in comfy beds. Thank you so much!

  • The Stella House was clean and the central air conditioning and facilities all worked well in this historic old house. The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. The hosts were very nice and we enjoyed talking to them when we checked in. The neighborhood was quiet and we had plenty of privacy.

  • A beautifully restored historic home with all the modern comforts! Near gorgeous Nature Conservancy and State Park sites on the prairie and lovely lakes in the Southwest area. Jason was hospitable and made sure we had everything we needed. Great tip on a fun local pub where we could walk for dinner.

    Margo2019-07-15T00:00:00Z

  • Charming and quaint home in a small town in southwestern Minnesota. Easy drive to area sites such as Pipestone, Blue Mound, Laura Ingalls Wilder/Little House on the Prairie Museum. Balaton has a pretty lake and a nice restaurant, Kir Patrick’s. ATM short distance from home. Convenience store and gas station very close by as well. For more serious shopping The town of Marshall is about 20-30 minutes drive. Home has an interesting history and is filled with antiques. The kitchen is very light filled and cozy.

  • Great place with lots of great history. It has a great library and lots of comfortable seating to enjoy those books. Loved the bunnies and birds into the yard.

  • This was perfect for our stay. It was very clean when we arrived. The host Jason and Nicki are wonderful; very friendly and gave me lots of info on things to do in the area. It is an old home with some beautiful antiques in it. My kids are old enough to know not to touch things like that but may be a little worrisome if the kids are younger. But the place was great and just what we needed. Definitely will come here again if we are in the area
