Welcome to Little Culver, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Little Culver is a stunning and unique Cotswold stone property, built in 1821. The cottage forms the right hand half of a beautiful castellated Grade II listed building, Culver Cottage. Originally an almshouse, it was built by David Ricardo of Gatcombe Park, and its distinctive architectural style is reflected by its reference in Pevsner's Architectural Guide for the Cotswolds. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Little Culver is located in the heart of the village of Minchinhampton. An ornate arched doorway on the street opens into a lobby, which is shared with the neighbouring property. Little Culver’s front door opens from the lobby into the living room. The following rooms are on the ground floor: Living room: A beautiful, spacious room, adorned with antique maps and artwork, which has a stunning Gothic window with a window seat, and a Cotswold stone fireplace with a wood burning stove. There are two leather sofas, plus a bench seat, and a SMART TV with a freesat box and a DVD player; Kitchen/dining room: A stylish, contemporary room that overlooks the back garden. The well presented kitchen has a range cooker with a five ring gas hob and two electric ovens, two under counter fridges (one with a freezer compartment), a dishwasher, toaster, kettle and cafetiere. The large dining table has seating for six, and there is also a pew bench underneath a lovely Gothic window. Floor-to-ceiling cupboards provide larder space, as well as storage for coats and shoes; Utility room: Accessed from the garden, this useful space contains a washing machine, tumble dryer and microwave, as well as a toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the ground floor to the first floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: A characterful room, with a wooden floor and a Gothic window overlooking the garden, which contains a double bed, chest of drawers and a freestanding wardrobe; Bedroom 2: Another lovely room, again with a wooden floor and a Gothic window, as well as a decorative exposed stone alcove. There are two single beds, a chest of drawers, and a white Eames chair; Bedroom 3: A charming room, which contains a single day bed, bedside table, desk and chair; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. A door from the kitchen leads out to a patio and a large, enclosed courtyard garden, which catches the late afternoon sun. There is a table with seating for six, as well as a chiminea and a charcoal barbecue. Free on street parking is available a short walk away in the village.
Minchinhampton is a very attractive, thriving hilltop town, situated on a tongue of high land between the Golden Valley and the Nailsworth Valley, 1.5 miles north east of Nailsworth. The town also sits on the eastern fringes of Minchinhampton Common, high above the valleys that were once prosperous with the production of cloth. The centre of Minchinhampton is a picture-postcard image of what people expect of a small Cotswold town, with a selection of nice shops and places to eat. The town is centred on its High Street and old Market Square, the main feature of which is the late 17th century Market House, supported on stone columns. The interesting Holy Trinity Church dates from the 12th century and has a truncated spire looking over the Market Square. The church was given to Caen's Abbaye aux Dames by William the Conqueror and then in 1415 passed to Syon Abbey, in whose hands it remained until the Dissolution. Minchinhampton Common is a large area of open grassland with spectacular views over the Stroud and Nailsworth valleys. The area is owned by National Trust and is an important archaeological landscape, with prehistoric field systems, burial mounds and the remains of a defensive earthwork, known as The Bulwarks. In the summer the Commons are grazed by local commoners' cattle. The area covers 635 acres and is renowned for its colourful array of wild flowers and butterflies. Food & Drink For a small market town, Minchinhampton is fortunate to be blessed with a number of good places to eat and drink: The Crown Inn (https://www.thecrown-minchinhampton.com/): Roaring fires, a restaurant serving up locally inspired flavours, and a cellar stocked full of craft ales, fine wines, and fizz - when it comes to Cotswold country pubs, The Crown Inn is the perfect place to meet, eat, and make great memories. The Ragged Cot (www.theraggedcot.co.uk): Perched high on the Cotswolds outside the ancient market town of Minchinhampton sits the Ragged Cot, a country inn getaway created for serious pleasure seekers. Born of a 17th century coaching house inn set beside six hundred acres of National Trust common land the Ragged Cot is a pretty special place with an intriguing history of highwaymen and pilferage. The proprietors of the Ragged Cot take pride in their professional approach to food and service, with the seasonal menu offering great British food sourced from local farmers and even their own vegetable garden. With dishes such as seared ox tongue with pickled red cabbage, pheasant with braised leeks and artichoke puree or just simply ham, eggs with triple cooked chips you will always find a dish to fit; The Kitchen (www.thekitchenminchinhampton.co.uk): Choose a seat by the beautiful bay window and watch for riders trotting by on horseback or perhaps the occasional herd of cows strolling down from the Common. Serving delicious breakfasts, morning and afternoon teas, and lunches, all the locally sourced food is prepared fresh daily; The Old Lodge, Minchinhampton Common (www.food-club.com/old-lodge.htm): The Old Lodge is beautifully located in the centre of Minchinhampton Common. With unrivalled views of the Cotswolds, this 400 year old hunting lodge is the perfect place to escape the rush. Enjoy quality, locally sourced food served in the restaurant, the bar area, one of the smaller dining rooms or al fresco in the spacious garden. The stunning restaurant accommodates parties of up to 85 people seated and has floor to ceiling windows that look directly onto Minchinhampton Common. Minchinhampton also has an excellent butcher's shop and an organic cheese shop: L Taylor & Sons (www.taylorsminchinhampton.com): For nearly a century L Taylor and Sons has been supplying the highest quality meat to discerning customers. The quality of the shop has been recognised with a Cotswold Life Butcher of the year award; Woefuldane Organic Dairy (www.woefuldanedairy.co.uk): All the products are made by hand in the farm dairy in time honoured ways. The unpasteurised cheeses change throughout the seasons as the milk varies depending on what the cows are eating.
  • Great period property in a superb location. Well equipped and attractively decorated. Parking easy and close by.

  • Great location, right in the centre of the village. Had a great stay and would love to go back one day. Sad to have to leave at the end of the holiday.

  • Had a lovely stay in Little Culver. All was as advertised - plenty of space for 5 people, very comfortable and stylish. Loved the original features of the house. Thoughtful touches like chocolates and biscuits on arrival were appreciated and the key safe made our arrival stress-free as travelling from London. Would definitely stay again if travelling to the Cotswolds.

  • Gorgeous cottage! Lovely combination of classic country style and modern decor. Perfect amount of space for 5 adults and the surrounding villages are delightful. Would definitely return. Thanks!

  • Beautiful place in the Cotswolds. Very charming, and spacious enough for our family of 5. We would definitely go back.

  • The perfect pad to explore the Cotswolds, set in a cute little village. Loved the treats and the garden was so beautiful to sit in and enjoy the rest of the British summer.

    Leo2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful house In the quiet quintessential English village of Minchinhampton. We rocked up with 5 people and found there to be plenty of room for everyone. The Garden was well kept and a really chilled out place to hangout in the sunshine. No negative comments here! The one thing I would say is to bring cash with you because many of the local establishments don’t take cards.

Welcome to Butterrow Gate, brought to you exclusively by Character Cottages, local specialists in stylish, Cotswold holiday rentals. Butterrow Gate is a distinctive, beautifully renovated Grade II listed property which sits proudly on Butterrow Hill on the outskirts of the market town of Stroud. Located in the heart of the stunning "Five Valleys" region of the Cotswolds, Stroud is well known for its bohemian vibe and eclectic mix of shops, with Jasper Conran describing the weekly Farmers' Market held in the town as "the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds". The Five Valleys converge on Stroud and contain some of the most beautiful countryside Britain has to offer. Butterrow Gate is also well placed for exploring further afield, with the spa towns of Bath and Cheltenham both within easy reach. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
The green front door opens into an entrance hall which houses the washing machine/tumble dryer, and the following rooms are on the ground floor: Living/dining room: Laid with beautiful flagstone flooring, this uniquely shaped room features original Cotswold stone walls, pretty stone mullion windows and a cosy wood burning stove. Tastefully decorated, this room contains a sofa, a footstool and an armchair, along with a Freesat TV with DVD player and a small dining table with drop down leaves which comfortably seats two; Kitchen: This compact yet well-equipped space contains an electric oven with four ring-induction hob, a dishwasher, Morphy Richards coffee machine, a fridge with a small freezer compartment, a kettle and toaster; Family bathroom: Located off the entrance hall, this room contains a walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin. Stairs lead up from the living area directly into the characterful bedroom: Master bedroom: With original Elm floorboards dating back to 1825, and exposed Cotswold stone walls, this bedroom has a romantic ambience and stunning views from the stone mullion windows over the pretty market town of Stroud and the surrounding valley. There is a pretty wrought iron double bed and two occasional chairs, as well an ornamental stone fireplace and a double wardrobe. The stable door from the bedroom opens onto the outside patio area decorated with pretty pots and featuring the walk-on glass area directly above the kitchen. Three steps lead up to a larger patio area with stunning views of the surrounding countryside and the market town of Stroud. This private, sunny space has an outdoor table, two chairs and a wooden bench, perfect for relaxing on warm summer days. A charcoal barbecue is provided from April to September, and there is a chiminea for cooler evenings. The outside space can also be accessed via a right of way through the neighbour’s garden and on street parking is available close to the property.
Encircled by five sweeping valleys opening out to the River Severn and made famous by Laurie Lee's novel "Cider with Rosie", the scenery is dramatic around Stroud. The town and its surrounding villages provide a great base from which to explore the undiscovered south Cotswolds, as well as for day trips to Bristol and Bath. London is just a 90 minute direct train away. At a time when the prevalence of chain stores has turned many of Britain's High Streets into copies of each other, Stroud is a welcome relief. With a bohemian vibe and an enviable array of independent shops, Stroud offers a unique shopping experience unrivalled by any town or city in the locality. Brimming with character and standing amidst the dramatic backdrop of the Five Valleys, Stroud has an eclectic mix of shops in the most beautiful of settings. The award-winning Farmers' Market is held each Saturday and is one of the best in the country, described by Jasper Conran as "the Covent Garden of the Cotswolds". Throughout the summer months, street performers will entertain you every Saturday morning and there is a full programme of music and theatre throughout the year – a true hub of cultural events. Stroud is a place that repays investigation, especially for the quality and variety of artists at work in the area – you could also choose to take part in one of the many traditional workshops! Food & Drink Stroud has numerous places to eat and drink, with a range of cuisines and prices to suit all tastes and budgets. The list below is a small sample of the range of options available: JRooL Bistro (www.jrool.co.uk): JRooL Bistro is a fine example of the sum of its parts being greater than the whole. The team has a passion for food and wine, such that the end result is an experience of food, wine and service that is, simply, award winning. The flexibility of the dining room encourages leisurely family lunches, business dining, appetisers and drinks at the bar, pre-theatre dinners or a full gastronomic experience; No 23 Bar & Bistro: No 23 is a popular, independent Stroud Bar, Café and Restaurant, specialising in tapas and Mediterranean fare. The fully stocked bar serves choice wines, beers and aperitifs to complement the extensive menu; Sorrento Italian Restaurant (www.sorrentostroud.co.uk): The menu offers superb presentations of traditional favourites, such as pizzas, pasta, succulent steaks, chicken and fish dishes, all served in a relaxing, friendly environment. Stroud also has a wide range of food retailers, including an award winning Farmers' Market, held every Saturday.
  • Full of character, had everything we needed.

    Jessica2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great, special and quirky space. Amenities were great and the place was sparkling clean, would definitely recommend and stay again. I imagine it would be spectacular in the summer. Jut watch out for stepping right onto quite a busy road where traffic comes roaring past. Parking was also tricky.

    Lou2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Property was lovely and perfect for a few days away. Tip: don't park opposite the property as you will get a note from one of the neighbours, also take your own milk as this isn't provided. Great stay and great location.

    Joanne2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully decorated, great homely feel and everything we needed for a comfortable stay.

    Anna2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a lovely stay at the cottage and it’s more beautiful in real life with an amazing view. Would definitely recommend and return. Not much off street parking but we didn’t mind parking down the hill and walking up. Worth a visit for sure!

    Eleanor2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful winter break at Butterrow gate. The property is gorgeous, very quirky and has everything you need. It is also clean and well presented. The location is great for exploring Stroud and other local villages. The tips provided by the host were perfect. We loved the farmer’s market, the antiques mill and local walks. It is worth noting that the property is on a busy road and you may be kept awake by traffic if you are a light sleeper. We slept like logs from all of the walking! Xx

    Lucy2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed at the cottage for a week while exploring the Cotswolds. It was such a lovely place to stay. It is exactly as it looks in the pictures small and super cozy and wonderful. We had a really good time. The place was in a good location if you had a car to explore all the surrounding towns. Without a car the cottage it a little but above the town and therefore is a bit less accessible. Contact with character cottages was easy, check in and out was no issue. The only negative feedback is that the place was a little low on essentials. When we arrived there wasn’t any coffee for the coffee machine and there were no other supplies for cooking other than olive oil. However the kitchen is very sweet and easy to use for home cooked meals. We also weren’t informed beforehand that the washer and dryer machine didn’t work and didn’t find this out till arriving, I thought this would have been great to be told earlier in order to organise our washing. Otherwise the place was the picture perfect cottage and we would definitely stay there again. I would definitely recommend a visit for anyone considering it.

Light airy outside room in the garden with a separate entrance. The room has double bed, with a separate shower and toilet. Available for the guests is a microwave, small fridge and kettle with an assortment of tea and coffee. Cereal and fruit are available in the room for breakfast. Home cooked vegetarian breakfast (£4.00) can be ordered. Off road parking is available and access provided via a side gate to the room. WiFi is available and there is a TV in the room.
This is a room that is separate from the house and you have your own side entrance to the room. There is a small patio out the back of the room and with fields and woodlands nearby, we are within walking distance from good woodland walks. Dursley is one of the routes on the famous Cotswold Way walk, which is one of England's finest National trails. Cam and Dursley train station has hourly trains to Bristol, Gloucester and Cheltenham. Dursley has two Indian restaurants that are eat in or takeaway, a couple of Chinese takeaways and an Italian restaurant. Good local pubs and 15 minutes away the Electric Picture House in Wotton-Under-Edge. Stroud is a popular market town 15 minutes drive from Dursley where interesting and quirky events are hosted throughout the year.
The room is detached from the house which is a 1940's semi-detached property on an older estate situated between a red brick school and park. The back of the property borders fields with an outlook onto the woodlands. These woods have many walks and run for miles around Dursley and along to the next village.
  • A great value for money accommodation that is a short walk into Dursley. Margi made the process easy and straightforward. We will definitely use her again in the future.

  • How understated, described correctly as a room in the garden, however it felt much more than that. Very comfortable bed, nice thick towels, warm (I actually turned the heating off in February) and cosy. Shower room was spacious and spotless and although no kitchen as such, with a fridge, microwave and kettle you don’t really need much else. I would recommend and I will be back!

  • The Red House is a lovely and cosy converted barn with a lot of character. It is prefect for a long weekend and for venturing and exploring the cotwolds. Fern and her husband were very helpful with local tips and quick responses. We would definitely stay here again.

  • A very cosy cottage in the heart of Dursley and a very warm welcome from Stuart made our visit for a birthday party very enjoyable .

  • Very nice and clean place to stay, with kind and supportive people. Stuart and Ashley are true superhosts.

    Juraj2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stuart's place is a hidden gem - if you want to visit Dursley and be within walking distance of the town centre you could not do better. They have managed to make their tiny cottage accommodate a guest and provide all the usual BnB amenities like a Tardis. All communication was very prompt and comprehensively explained how to get there, park and what to expect. I would not hesitate to return again if I need to stay in the area.

  • In a great position right in the centre but still very quiet. Stuart is very welcoming and provide a good breakfast including super fresh eggs! Brilliant value. Only one thing worth mentioning. If you're very short, you may have trouble reaching the box where the key is kept. My wife (height 5ft 1in), for example, couldn't reach it.

Grange Cottage is a stunning Cotswold stone cottage, which enjoys an idyllic rural location, with spectacular views across a valley to the Woodchester Valley Vineyard. The cottage is on the edge of the village of Amberley, which although small, has two well regarded pubs. Amberley backs onto the National Trust common land of Minchinhampton Common, a unique 600 acre open space with far reaching views, which offers walking, kite flying and an 18-hole golf course. The larger towns of Nailsworth and Stroud are close by, offering a vibrant selection of restaurants, shops and award-winning farmers markets. Grange Cottage is an ideal base for outdoor activities such as walking and cycling, as well as for exploring the wider Cotswolds region and further afield places, such as Bath, Oxford and even day trips into London. Important Customer Notice: - Special Events: Christmas, New Year and the Cheltenham Horse Racing Festival are Special Events, with bookings typically limited to weeks only from a specific start day If your dates don’t appear to fit, then please click Contact Host below to find out what options may exist for you!
Grange Cottage is a large semi-detached Cotswold stone cottage, which sits on a steep slope at the top of a rural lane, and benefits from stunning views. The front door opens into the conservatory, which leads through to a well laid out ground floor area: Conservatory: This room enjoys lovely views over the garden to Woodchester and beyond, and has two wicker chairs; Living room: From the conservatory, a step leads into the characterful living room, which has an exposed Cotswold stone fireplace with a wood burning stove, oak beams, and alcove shelving with a selection of local books. There are two two-seater sofas, a small arm chair and a window seat that looks out over the valley. There is also a SMART TV with a DVD player; Reading room: The living room adjoins this pretty room, which has French doors opening out to the garden. There is a small writing bureau, two chairs and a hamper of games; Kitchen/dining room: Steps lead up from the living room to the kitchen, a spacious room with a wooden dining table and seating for six. The well-equipped kitchen has a double electric oven, a six-ring gas hob, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and a hand blender; Utility room: A convenient space for boots and coats, which contains a washing machine/tumble dryer and a freezer; Cloakroom: Contains a toilet and a wash basin. Stairs lead up from the living room to the first-floor landing, off which are the following rooms: Master bedroom: A lovely eaves room, with high ceilings and exposed oak beams, which contains a king size bed and fitted wardrobe, and has nice views of the woodland behind the cottage; Bedroom 2; This bright room enjoys a sunny aspect, with views across to the Woodchester Valley Vineyard, and contains a large single bed; Bedroom 3: Contains a day bed, which is made up as a single bed. The window seat is perfect for watching the sun set; Family bathroom: Contains a bath with an overhead shower, toilet and wash basin. Steep spiral stairs, without a handrail, lead up from the first floor landing to: Bedroom 4: Another lovely eaves rooms, with exposed beams and panoramic views over the Woodchester Valley Vineyard and beyond. There is a double bed, fitted wardrobes and a free-standing flatscreen TV. The door to this bedroom is at the bottom of the stairs and it is not possible to put a stair gate at the top of the stairs, so this room may not be suitable for young children. The main garden area is at the front of the cottage, enclosed by Cotswold stone walls, and is mostly laid to lawn, with traditionally planted cottage garden borders and a variety of mature shrubs and trees. There is a patio area outside the conservatory, with an outdoor table and seating for six, which provides spectacular views across the valley to Woodchester and benefits from glorious sunsets. A lockable shed is available upon request to store bikes and other outdoor equipment. Steps from the back door lead up to a gravelled parking area, with space for two cars.
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone "wool churches". The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
  • The cottage was very comfortable and cosy with everything we needed for a lovely weekend break.

  • A gorgeous cottage with lots of character and stunning views. We had a lovely cosy weekend with fires (make sure you pick up enough kindling from the local supermarket) and walks through the woods (wellies necessary!) to the pub, finished off with brunch in the well set up kitchen. Be prepared to climb a very steep hill if your car can’t make it up!

  • Grange Cottage is very comfortable, warm and cosy. It is a classic Cotswolds cottage with great views over the valley opposite. The location, while up a very steep hill, was excellent - - a short walk through the wood to the fantastic Amberley Inn - - and no issue with access with our car. The log burner was a welcome addition on the cold evenings we spent there.

  • Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in your fabulous cottage. It was a beautiful warm, cosy and very clean property with views to die for! I cannot thank you enough for sending back our Google Chromecast so quickly after we left it behind in the property, it arrived in the post today. That is what I call a first class service! Funny thing was that we didn’t even need it as Netflix was already provided. I would like to highly recommend Character Cottages for anyone looking for a quiet and peaceful getaway.

    Sachin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage had everything you could ask for - 4 beautiful bedrooms with lovely clean bed linen and comfortable beds. Fantastic views and a cosy log fire with idyllic walks around the area. It was very quiet and peaceful and just what we needed as four mums trying to get some relaxation time away from hectic lives and young children. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Thank you!

  • A beautiful house located on a serene hill. Quaint details were added throughout the house which made the experience all the more wonderful. The place was super clean! The only downside is that it is located on a very steep hill & a bit too narrow & difficult to drive up. It was a very good stay regardless :)

    Maznan2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. Fantastic views. Cottage up a steep hill. Pleasant walks from the cottage. Low ceilings but that's to be expected when you consider when it was built.

    Mark2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Brilliant cottage, all as described! Even though it rained quite literally the ENTIRE stay, we didn’t really notice because the house was so nice and had everything we needed! Thank you!

  • Stunning cottage, really lovely location and amenities! Just what was required for our stay. Eleanor was the perfect host too, couldn’t be more friendly or happy to help! Would definitely recommend this property.

  • My brother and I had a short but comfortable stay at Rose Tree Cottage. The perfect place to be on a stormy night, with plenty of wood for the log burner. The extras in the fridge were good to have (milk butter & orange juice). Very comfortable beds. We decided not to go for a walk due to the heavy rain. (I have been walking near the village before and there is no shortage of paths and beautiful countryside.) We had transport problems but Eleanor kindly let us to stay a couple of hours past the checkout time, which was great. Five stars all round.

    Lizzie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Eleanor’s cottage was perfectly cosy and clean! It had all we needed and cute personal touches. Eleanor even left bread and breakfast foods for us. It is less than a minute walk from a lovely pub. It’s a shame we were only there for 1 night-it is perfect for a long weekend away.

  • The cottage is in a lovely village with a great local pub less than a minutes walk away. There are some good walks across footpaths through fields that are very scenic. The cottage is very cosy with great furnishings and in the cold weather was easy to keep warm. A perfect location for exploring the local area. Eleanor was very friendly and went through the house explaining things very clearly. We were very happy with our stay and would happily visit again.

  • We stayed here for my birthday on the 20th March. It was even better than I could have imagined. Incredibly cosy and a wonderful escape during these stressful times! Andy was more than attentive and it seemed like there was so request too great. It’s an amazing location and the cabin has everything you could need - even hand gel!!!! We will be back with the dog next time to explore the surrounding walks! If your pizzas end up as bad as ours then we recommend the The Lyon Inn pub... the fish and chips were incredible - even as a takeaway. Thank you again. Beth + Fred x

  • This is the perfect place to stay if you just want to get away from everything. The log cabin is lovely and cosy and has heating if it gets a bit cold at night. I loved looking at all of the quirky items which were placed all around the cabin, they were a nice touch. The patio area is lovely too, I enjoyed relaxing by the fire in the evening and making pizza to cook in the pizza oven. If you want to get away from the stresses of every day life then this is the place to stay.

There was information about places to eat which helped us find a lovely restaurant called the Farmers Boy Inn which had amazing pies. We would love to visit again!

The Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty surrounds the town, and the Cotswold Way path passes by it to the west. The award winning saturday farmers market IS A MUST! 25 min drive: BIBURY & ARLINGTON Bibury is a charming, typically Cotswold village just a short drive from Cirencester. It’s easy to see why William Morris called Bibury ‘The most beautiful village in England’ – wonderful stone buildings strung out along the banks of the River Coln. Arlington Row, owned by the National Trust, is one of England’s most iconic and photographed sites – it even appears on the inside cover of UK passports! Originally built in the 14th century as a monastic wool store, it was converted in the 17th century into a row of weavers’ cottages. The cottages are now lived in by National Trust tenants, with no public access to the cottages or gardens, although one of them can be rented out as a holiday cottage. The River Coln flows through Bibury sandwiched between the main village street and an expanse of boggy water meadow known as Rack Isle, so called because wool was once hung out to dry there on racks after it had been washed in Arlington Row. With Arlington Row as a backdrop, it makes one of the most picturesque scenes you will find in the Cotswolds. 30 min drive:CHELTENHAM SPA 45 min drive: BATH SPA
  • Our stay at Victoria’s was lovely. The Airbnb is a stylish apartment which managed to be welcoming and cosy whilst still containing a full kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge area. Victoria was really helpful with telling us about the area so we could go out and explore. Both my sisters and I throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

  • Victoria and her place are so great. She went above and beyond to accommodate me and ensure I got the most out of my stay. The nearby nature reserve was so tranquil and alive. Truly a beautiful place!

  • Lovely little apartment done up to a very good standard. Very homely and cosy. Fully equipped kitchen which was great as we didn't want to head out for dinner. Was in a good location to a few shops and pubs. Bit of miscommunication with check in, however was sorted quite easily.

  • My husband and I were looking for a quiet night away. We came across this place and thought it looked interesting. We were blown by the beautiful location. We also booked a couple's yoga session which was incredible. It gave us 1.5 hours to really connect with each other. Victoria & Dave were amazing hosts. We will be back again without a doubt.

The Retreat is situated on Woodchester Valley Vineyard in the Cotswolds, close to Stroud and 1 mile from Nailsworth town with many restaurants, walks, shops and supermarkets. It offers spacious accommodation with stunning views over the valley, a fully equipped kitchen, log burners in both the kitchen and sitting rooms as well as the full sky TV package in 2 separate rooms. As this is adjacent to a working vineyard, regrettably no children under the age of 12 can be accommodated.
The master bedroom offers a super king size bed which can be made into twin beds upon request.
We are located 1.5 miles from the bustling town of Nailsworth, which has an abundance of restaurants, cafés and pubs for breakfast, brunch and dinner options. We are 3.5 miles from the market town of Stroud which boasts one of the best farmers markets in the country every Saturday. The spa towns of Cheltenham and Bath are within 45 minutes, and the area is very popular with walkers, cyclists and those looking for a base from which to explore the South Cotswolds.
  • We had such a wonderful stay here. Although there are only two bedrooms the communal space feels like the house is much larger. There are gorgeous log burners and the house is lovely and warm. We stayed for Christmas and the host had set up a beautiful Christmas tree with lights for us, and couldn't have been more helpful with various changes and questions we had in the run up. Thanks to you all and we hope to come again this year!

    Kate2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Second time staying at this Cotswold haven! Can not recommend this place enough, really is a home away from home with views for days! Such good value for money also! Cannot wait to come back again. Thank you to Gail & Carol for being such wonderful hosts!

  • What a magic spot. A must stay if you are staying in the Cotswolds area. A great location, lovely hosts, gorgeous house. Thank you for the welcome treat, it was appreciated. Definitely try the wine it was lovely. We would definitely stay again

  • A beutiful house with outstanding views. Well equiped, cozy and clean.

    Richard2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Had a fantastic stay at the retreat. A beautiful house with lovely views. It was incredibly spacious for just 4 people. The bathrooms and bedrooms are beautifully appointed with large showers and baths. Great enclosed garden for our little dog and also big garden out the front to enjoy. You are literally staying within the vineyards. We did the wine tasting tour at the vineyard, which we thoroughly enjoyed! Woodchester valley wines were superb! The tasting room is next door to the property. There are some great pubs nearby but not within walking distance. A lovely place to stay if you like wine and want a relaxing time! Highly recommend!

    Emily2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location, incredible views, great facilities and space. A very quiet and secluded house in a stunning location, with amazing views across the valley. Tremendously peaceful and restorative.

    Alex2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This place has the wow factor. The pictures don’t do it justice. The living room and kitchen are both huge and are great entertaining spaces. The kitchen and the living room both open out onto the front garden and drive which was perfect as the weather was so good when we visited! The bedrooms were a great size and exactly what we needed. It is a tad steep if you’re walking up, but it was generally fine and if you can’t be bothered with that then the local taxis were more than happy to take us home. The view over the hills is also fantastic - such a nice view to wake up to. Highly recommended. Gail was really helpful in the lead up to our visit and throughout!

    Peter2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Pictures don’t do this home justice. It is beautiful, luxurious and relaxing. Just what we needed for our home base while walking the Cotswolds way.

Walkley Wood Cottage is a charming Grade II listed Bath stone property set over 4 floors. With 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, the cottage sleeps 4 (3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children is the most comfortable configuration). Enjoying a peaceful elevated position, Walkley Wood boasts beautiful views of the surrounding valley and neighbouring Cotswold stone properties. The cottage welcomes two, well-behaved dogs*.
*Dogs: Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome at the cottage at an additional cost of £30 per dog. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog(s) and we will then revise your booking confirmation. Introduction As you approach Walkley Wood Cottage through the winding lanes of Nailsworth, you will notice how the town and surrounding properties are almost hidden by the secluded woodland valley to the east of Stroud. Proudly perched on the side of sleepy Shortwood Road is Walkley Wood Cottage, a distinguished 19th century property with rustic golden stone that immediately casts a warm and welcoming aura. Ideally situated, this cottage is the perfect base for exploring the tranquillity of the surrounding Stroud Valleys and the wider Cotswolds, while guests are also in easy walking distance of the cheerfully eclectic town of Nailsworth. If you’re looking for somewhere to totally relax and unwind, then Walkley Wood is the perfect Cotswold home for you. As you approach the cottage through the cast iron gate and down the stone steps, you will notice a small outdoor table and chairs set down from the lane behind the dry-stone wall. Guests are welcome to sit outside and enjoy the warmth of the summer months in this compact but delightful sun trap. You may find yourself admiring the beautiful architecture and delicate Georgian windows, this cottage was, after all, built in 1852. Although the exact history of the cottage remains largely a mystery, it has been suggested that the building may have been used as a pub many years ago, which could explain the origins of the kitchen skylight. Either way, it’s nice to consider that many happy memories have been created within these historic walls! Inside, Walkley Wood really is the perfect holiday home. Devoid of fussiness and frill, Karen has struck the perfect balance between homely-cosy comfort and refreshing simplicity. Each floor is brought to life by a sprinkling of quirky vintage features, while guests can simultaneously enjoy a bright and Scandinavian-inspired minimalist feel. The living room is the real heart of the property. A log-burning stove immediately creates a wonderful cosy atmosphere, with soft blankets and cushions scattered over furniture to help guests make themselves feel at home. Just a short walk away is the artistic town of Nailsworth, a gem in the heart of the Cotswold valleys. A largely overlooked town, Nailsworth has a fantastic and unspoiled selection of boutiques, bars, pubs and cafes, and really does offer some of the best food for miles around. You will find the hair dryer in a top drawer of the chest. Outside Walkley Wood Cottage enjoys use of the small gravel/paved courtyard at the front of the house. There is a small patio table and two chairs that guests may use for breakfast, lunch or an evening glass of wine if they wish! The Little Barn is a beautifully, sympathetically and stylishly renovated two bedroom cottage within the grounds of a former farm that was once owned by the local Monastery. The cottage itself is spacious and fully equipped with everything guests should need for a truly comfortable and restful stay. In this era of sustainable living, The Little Barn benefits from solar panel energy, a Tesla battery for energy storage and use, recycling facilities and energy efficient appliances and lighting.
The cottage is warm, cosy and inviting boasting a fully furnished kitchen complete with all mod cons including a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. Basic condiments (salt, pepper, oil), tea, coffee, sugar, a cafetiere, washing up liquid, tea towels, tin foil, cling film, sponges, dishwasher tablets, laundry materials and bin bags come as standard as does a lovely welcome pack comprising local produce and fridge essentials. Beyond the kitchen and the other side of a lovingly restored archway, is the lounge where guests will find a Smart TV (including Netflix, Prime Video & Freeview Play), an Amazon Echo Dot, a comfortable corner settee that doubles as a bed, an extendable dining table and French doors that open onto a quiet outdoor space. For younger guests, there are books, toys and games. For older guests, there is a chess set and playing cards. Upstairs, there is a tastefully refurbished bathroom, a gorgeous master bedroom with king sized bed and plenty of storage, plus an attractive twin room. Both bedrooms have space for a travel cot if required (available upon request) and both overlook the surrounding fields that stretch to the Cotswolds and beyond. Towels and bed linen are provided including bedding for the downstairs sofa bed and travel cot as appropriate. Wifi is available throughout the property free of charge. Heating and hot water are included in the fee.
The Little Barn is situated at the end of a quiet farm lane and is a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds and surrounding areas. There is no through access hence it is utterly tranquil and a haven for those seeking beautiful countryside and an escape from the normal stresses of daily life. The surrounding fields are a paradise for walkers and the local village of Kingswood is just a short drive away. It can also be reached on foot if the mood takes you. Within Kingswood, there is a handy and friendly Spar which doubles as a Post Office / cash point. Guests will also find a delightful Public House that serves good tasty food, a gym with 'pay as you go' classes, a park and play area, the local church and the remains of the Abbey. There is ample parking at the park with further parking in and around the village. The friendly market town of Wotton-under-Edge is a further mile away by car and here guests will discover several eateries, a butcher, a couple of bakeries, several barbers and hairdressers, two grocery stores, two medical centres, two dentists and an array of local craft, produce, antique and gift shops. There is also a traditional cinema, a Tourist Information Office, free parking, an art centre and an open air pool (open during the warmer months). The pool has recently been extensively refurbished and is a real oasis on hot summer days. The beautiful town of Chipping Sodbury is just a short distance away and the cities of Bristol (30 mins), Bath (35 mins) and Gloucester (40 mins) are all within easy reach. All three cities abound with history, activities, shopping and wonderful sightseeing walks and tours. A particularly lovely way of taking in Bristol is via 'cycle the city', guided or self guided. Just ask Annie and Simon for details if interested. Again only a short drive away and guests will reach the stunning Cotswolds where places like Tetbury, Westonbirt, Uley, Cirencester and Malmesbury are well worth a visit. These beautiful artsy towns and the surrounding villages teem with history and are stuffed to the brim with cafes, antique palaces and boutiques. The Little Barn is a handy gateway to this beautiful part of England. With the 102 mile Cotswold Way on the cottage's doorstep, guests can sample breathtaking views, dramatic gorges, rolling hills, forests and every kind of landscape a person could wish for, not forgetting the abundance of numerous castles, historic houses, country parks, museums and art galleries. The delights of the area are arguably some of the best in the UK and Annie and Simon can offer more details upon request.
  • Annie and Simon’s place is perfect for a couple or family who want to get away from it all, but be within easy reach of plenty of amenities, activities and beautiful countryside. With the lockbox, checking in was easy and Annie was so thoughtful in leaving some tasty welcome gifts. We were also greeted by a very friendly cat! Annie was very flexible with our check in and out times, which we really appreciated, and her communication was excellent - although we never saw her, she kept in touch before and throughout our stay and we felt she was always on hand to help if we needed it or had any questions. The cottage has everything you need, however long you are staying. It’s a really homely place, which has been beautifully renovated and furnished. The lounge area is very cosy, with a nice view of the garden and fields, and it was great to have Netflix and Amazon music for entertainment. We cooked a couple of meals whilst we were there and found that the kitchen is well equipped for cooking from scratch. We only stayed 2 nights, but would love to return some time for another stay to explore more of the area.

  • A beautifully decorated, carefully cared for property, tucked away in the countryside but close enough to the main roads that travel is easy. Annie made sure we wanted for nothing. Our stay was so comfortable and enjoyable - we would definitely stay here again.

  • Gorgeous, freshly presented and comfortable property. We had a great night’s sleep and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Loved that the owners were clearly available if we had had any needs while we were there, but gave us all the privacy desired. Described as a gem & matches description. Welcome pack was a delightful addition. Already recommended to family for if they are staying in the area and will happily return. Many thanks!

  • Thanks very much for a fantastic stay. The accommodation was beautiful, clean and well resourced. Annie and Simon set up the house for us to just start our holiday with ease. Perfect location for exploring. We visited Tetbury, Chipping Sodbury and Bath during our stay. We would love to return in the summer to fully appreciate the unique outdoor space on offer.

  • Amazing stay at the lodge in Woodchester Valley, we couldn’t have asked for more. The lodge is incredible, way better than even the pictures which are amazing. When we arrived there was a little treat for us, which just added to the experience. My fiancé and I want to come back in the summer, we just loved it so much. Thank you to Gail for all the recommendations too :)

  • Before I came I didnt noticed I have booked a modern wooden barn house adjacent to the vineyard. Staying here, you will see shining stars, the nice sunrise and sunset. Besides, the house is luxurious and simple, you can find everything you want. A pity is that I didnt get to try the wine. I will bring family and friends to visit this place again in the summer.

    Tanya2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Percy's Gypsy Wagon was, somehow, even better than we had expected. Despite the small size of the caravan, it was extremely well stocked, with lots of kitchenware and plenty of blankets (and a wood stove!). Andy and Vicky were kind, helpful, and attentive hosts, and Percy, Max, and the chicken were all delightful! I would highly recommend a stay here.

    Abigail2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • The wagon is truly fantastic! Perfect location and the hosts are great. They went the extra mile to make my stay special - nothing was too much.

    Leanne2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • Stunning, peacefully, tranquil, surreal, chilled, nostalgic I mean their would be so many ways to describe this place all of them good, thank you for allowing us to stay, it was brilliant.

    Stuart2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely unique place to stay to unwind and spend some time away . Communication with the hosts was great and thanks for recommending the farmers boy for dinner! X

    Stephanie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect cosy and unusual escape from modern life!

    Sue2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I enjoyed the most splendid three nights at the wagon (we gathered form the reviews that one night only would not suffice). It was great to settle in and get comfortable in the space. We loved how it felt only a few degrees off from camping; it was rustic but cozy and we made do in the small but cleverly-set up space. The adjacent outhouse was adorable and we loved the quirky decor. Andy and Vicky were the best hosts with whom I've ever had the pleasure of staying in my years of using Airbnb; they were present and helpful, offering great tips, taking our dishes to wash, and keeping our water jugs filled. Defiantly plan to book with them again and would highly recommend to others. One thing I will say is that the wagon may be a bit tight for taller guests; the bed, which spans the width of the wagon, fit my friend and me but we're on the shorter side; not sure my husband would have been quite as comfortable, so something to consider when deciding to book.

  • Very nice central area.. Happy I didn’t have to climb any stairs! Room and other areas smelled amazingly clean and looked that way as well! Bed was comfy! Easy walking distance from everything if you don’t have any ailments. Parking is on the street so as with any area like this it is hit and miss with where you park every night. But no real issues! Had designated area in the fridge for food! The bathroom is amazing Angela provided bathrobes and slippers! Wow!!!! Very nice when u walk from one room to the next for bathroom! Everything was fresh! She had some tea, milk, sugar, butter and croissants waiting for me. Even a little chest with chocolates. I didn’t need them but nice touch! Nice tv and comfy bedding. Decor is nice and perfect for the rooms! Also some guides to the area on the window sill. Area is mostly quiet. At night you could hear the neighbors they the wall but it wasn’t bad at all and they don’t stay up long. So no problem! And I am a very light sleeper. Angela was helpful and easy check in and out! Great stay!!! Maybe some hand soap and a frying pan would have been good.... maybe she usually had them. Not a biggie! I used other things! Would go stay again!

    Peter2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Rose’s cottage is all it appears to be from the photos. The wood burning stove and the gorgeous bath are very visible star features. What is less obvious from the photos is that you have a well equipped kitchen, so if you wish to cook during your stay, you will have everything you need. It’s a beautiful and comfortable place, where you will feel instantly at home, with the bonus of a stunning stream-side setting. Can’t wait to go back!

It's a 15 minute drive from the centre of Cheltenham and with access to a bus just 2 minutes walk from the house. The room is big and spacious, bigger than the pictures suggest. It has a big, comfortable bed and had a kettle, microwave and fridge in the room for personal use. The tv also has Netflix and Amazon Prime access. Really pleasant stay!

Peter's Nest is a favourite cottage for honeymooners and couples--especially walkers and those with dogs! This Cotswold stone cottage tucked away by woods is the perfect 'love nest' for two, Virgilian in bucolic peace and sweet sylvan scenery. Downstairs the house has an modern, open-plan kitchen and living room with a wood-burning stove in one corner and a small bathroom. Upstairs is a cosy bedroom with a low ceiling, a perfect retreat from the world.
In a clearing below Peter's Nest Wood known mysteriously as 'Hell's Throat', hard by a woodland spring is the original tiny cottage of Woodwells farmstead, marked on an 1847 map. INTERIOR Downstairs we enter through the kitchen, which leads into the living room with comfortable dining and sitting areas, and a cosy wood-burning stove. The bathroom is adjacent. As this is a small cottage the ceiling height is low in the bathroom! The cottage is heated by storage heaters. A narrow staircase lead upstairs to the small double attic bedroom (with very low, sloping ceilings under the eaves) with queen-sized bed, enjoying views to the west down the Owlpen valley. Hanging space for clothes is provided under the eaves, and a small dressing table. There is ample parking and a small garden adjoining the garden of Woodwells cottage. There is also a large wilderness woodland dell to the east of the cottage. A small wrought iron table provides the opportunity to enjoy a sunset aperitif or breakfast coffee. Or watch the wild life and sociable pheasants. The Cotswolds are one of England's best known touring regions of picturesque hills, limestone villages and scenic attractions. The magical deep wooded valleys here form its most spectacular scenery. Golf, gliding, riding, antique shops, historic houses, castles and gardens nearby. But many visitors never leave the privacy of the Owlpen estate, with its miles of footpaths and utter seclusion. The Owlpen valley has long been recognised as one of the most romantic places in England and provides guests with an exclusive and relaxing hideaway, surrounded by private woods and hills and many miles of walks--from a gentle stroll round the estate trails to a 20 mile trek along the Cotswold Way. This is Laure Lee country, situated in the Royal Triangle in the heart of the Cotswolds hills. The historic cities of Bath, Cheltenham and Cirencester are all within an easy drive, as are the cultural and scenic attractions of Oxford, Blenheim and Stratford Upon Avon, which are popular day excursions. An ideal base for the Horse Trials at Badminton and Gatcombe Park and racing at Cheltenham. Westonbirt Arboretum and the Wildfowl Trust at Slimbridge are nearby. Newark Park (National Trust) and Woodchester Mansion are three miles away, as well as many historic houses and gardens, including Berkeley Castle, Chavenage House, Sudeley Castle, and Highgrove—if you can get in. The choice of attractions and things to see and do is huge and you will need to return many times to see and explore it all.
  • Peters Nest is exactly what you would want and expect. It is a lovely little bolthole, tucked away from the rest of the world. When you arrive you collect a really comprehensive folder of all the things you can do, places to walk, to eat and so on and so forth. Very useful and much appreciated. Our dogs absolutely loved it, we went some wonderful walks without having to drive anywhere which was exactly what we wanted. The cottage is clean and cosy and the kitchen is well stocked with utensils for whatever you might need.

  • A stunning location, a stunning cottage in a little slice of heaven. Would highly recommend a stay at Owlpen Manor.

  • We have, together with snow, in early February. The cottage was warm enough when our fire-lighting efforts bore fruit. The location is stunning, beautiful countryside and the cottage sits within a lovely garden that provided our two dogs with great interest during our stay. We’d also recommend the Old Crown Inn in Uley.

Fancy living like a hobbit in Hobbiton on a hobbity hill? Or perhaps you’d like to feel like Gulliver in Lilliput for the time of a weekend? The Little House on Gumstool Hill is as cosy as it gets. Sitting on the popular Gumstool Hill in the heart of the Cotswolds, The Folly (the cottage) is only a stone’s throw away from the centre of Tetbury. There are lovely walks just outside the cottage along the small river, and all the services are extremely close.
***Only available to key workers at the moment***Discounts available, message first. The cottage features lovely Cotswold stone and roof tiles. It is very small, but comfortable. A paddle space saving staircase leads to the upstairs bedroom. It comprises of a king size bed, a high pile rug (snug for your toes) and two bedside tables (nothing else will fit!). You can have your breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner and supper in the kitchenette. Or alternatively you can nip into the local bakery and iconic pubs only a tiny stroll away. The kitchenette has two portable electric hobs, a microwave oven, a kettle, a toaster, a small fridge and all the necessary kitchenware and cutlery. We supply tea, coffee, sugar, olive oil and salt and pepper.
Tetbury has won numerous awards, earning the accolade "Heart of England in Bloom" and "Best Small Town." It was founded as an ancient hill fort, and on the same site was later built a Saxon monastery in 681, most likely by Ine of Wessex. Today, Tetbury is known as a small hidden gem of an English town, praised for its charming cottages and ivy-clad buildings and cottages, abundance of flowers and greenery, history, wool, antique shops, and historic buildings. Being in the Cotswolds, a number of lovely and popular walks are available to you, as well as the myriad of cute and iconic villages.
  • Took a 2 night stay here by myself to get out of London for a bit. I cycled from Kemble station to Gumstool Hill and it is just as cute as described/photographed. Perfect location in Tetbury and lots of lovely places to explore. Small but perfectly contained and everything I needed. Yoann responded to messages so quickly and was very helpful. Would definitely go back!

    Claire2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The house was very nice and spotless, Tetbury was a lovely place to visit even though we stayed briefly

Enjoy our lovely private ground floor studio-style room with plenty of space. Separate shower room & kitchenette area. Large, powerful shower, comfy bed with cotton sheets, fast Wi-Fi & beautiful vintage decor. Easy access via private entrance & parking. We provide everything for continental/ cereal breakfast with fresh coffee & OJ in the cool 1940’s cabinet with kettle, microwave & toaster. Great for exploring the area by foot, cycle or car. Lots of local info from friendly hosts if needed!
Our hillside house is set in a 3/4 acre walled garden and is a busy, vibrant family home. We are surrounded by nature and still have easy access to local towns. The lovely, generous guest room forms the lower ground floor of our house and has its own private entrance. Perfect base for walkers, runners, cyclists, golfers, event goers, foodies, naturalists, culture or just exploring! We are very mindful of our guests privacy and peace - and we are kept busy with pets, kids and various comings and goings, so will stay out of your hair unless you need us!
We live in a lovely timber clad house set in a 3/4 acre walled garden in a beautiful rolling valley running between Nailsworth and Stroud- both great towns to explore with an award winning Farmers market, local brewery (with pizza oven), great arts, pubs, music scene and lots of independant shops and cafe’s. We have direct access to footpaths through a nature reserve behind the house (endangered bush crickets!) up to Amberley village and beautiful Minchinhampton Common with its free ranging cows and ponies, ice cream factory, visiting circus, pubs, golf course, great views and kite flying. Or use the footpath down to the Nailsworth/Stroud cycle path, which in turn leads into the lovely canal tow paths. Great for mountain biking pretty much anywhere; golfing at Minchinhampton; walking & trees at Westonbirt; birds & nature at Slimbridge, horses at Gatcombe & Badminton; culture & shopping at Bath, Cheltenham and Cirencester. Or go large in Bristol! Last, but not least we are within walking distance of the mysterious Woodchester Park; or even up to spooky Hetty Pegler’s Tump....
  • Great little space for a weekend away, in walking distance of Stroud and other villages, and the shower was amazing!

    Sarah-Jane2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice area and room. The wee breakfast they left out was beaut

    Jenny2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Lovely little touches in the studio. Excellent location for exploring the local area with good pubs/restaurants in walking distance.

    Laurence2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay here in this cosy, comfortable space. The location is stunning also. The bed was really comfy and we loved the gorgeous chesterfield sofa! I will say that it is worth taking a shower cap if you have long hair and won’t be washing it every time you shower. The shower is an exceptionally powerful monsoon type and it was tough to keep my hair dry! We were out for most of our stay so never met the hosts, but Tom was always on hand via text - I asked to borrow the iron and it was in the room by the time we’d returned from our walk. The breakfast touches were delicious and having a mini fridge was very useful. We had a very pleasant stay and hope to return! Thank you.

  • Lovely and luxurious studio flat.Very cosy, clean and tidy ...I will recommend to anyone as they are indeed super hosts.

    Chukwuemeka2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Not a single negative point to make from our 3 night stay. The accommodation is larger than it looks in the pictures, but remains a cosy hideaway for chilly evenings. It's full of interesting bits n bobs whilst the bathroom is more than adequate inclusive of a powerful shower. Comfy bed, comfy sofa, comfy table and chairs at which to eat your provided breakfast whilst watching the birds at the feeder opposite. The hosts provided tips about the area which we utilised, however there is so much within walking, hiking, or short driving distance we were spoilt for choice. Loved it.

    Marc2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very stylish and spacious studio - the interesting furnishings make it feel particularly comfortable and relaxing. It is in a great location for walks and places of interest. The breakfasts and excellent shower are real treats. Daisy and Tom are very friendly and helpful .

    Kate2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent stay with Daisy & Tom! I loved the space, the location for walks, the privacy, and a fantastic pub close by! (The Black Horse, Amberley). I certainly hope to return.

The cottage has been renovated to the highest standards whilst still retaining plenty of character. Ideally located for those seeking a luxurious retreat in the countryside with wonderful walks on the door step and the convenience of a pub and well-stocked village shop close by. Plenty of wonderful places to visit in the area and a restful stop gap if walking the Cotswold Way. Fantastic hilly cycling area. Conveniently located for travelling to either Cheltenham, Bristol or Bath
Renovated with much love and care over the last year, I have tried to keep the property simple and stylish but most of all comfortable. The wood burner provides a warming focal point and logs are provided for your first night's stay. Additional logs can be purchased thereafter either from the local shop or directly from me. Accommodation is best-suited up to four but can accommodate up to 6 if you don't mind a squeeze. PLEASE NOTE there is an additional charge per guest per night if more than two guests are staying - when booking, altering the number of guests shows you the exact charge. Netflix for those with accounts. Separate downstairs loo in addition to the large bathroom. Comfy towels and slippers provided for use during your stay. The kitchen is also stocked with coffee, tea, herbal teas, an array of spices and seasoning and I always leave fresh milk for my guests (let me know if you prefer soya/skimmed/etc). All the bedrooms have their own tea/coffee-making facilities.
As well as some wonderful walks on the doorstep, the property is well-situated if visiting the local tourist areas of Nailsworth, Tetbury and Westonbirt or if walking the Cotswold Way. Cheltenham is approximately 40 minutes drive away - perfect for attending the races or any of the festivals whilst Bath and Bristol are also about 40 minutes away. It is also about a ten-minute drive from the wedding and party venue, Kingscote Barn
  • A really lovely cottage - just wished we’d stayed longer. Lots of thoughtful touches and tasteful decor. Would highly recommend.

  • Fantastic cosy, homely place to stay. The location offered great walks on the doorstep, a local pub in walking distance (which is welcoming& provides great pub grub) and a gorgeous roaring log fire to come back too. The cottage was very clean& comfortable. We were welcomed with a lovely personal message& a bottle of fizz. Clare had some great suggestions for places to visit, such as the Farmers market in Stroud. It was nice to have things to do on the doorstep where y we didn’t have to drive anywhere. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Clare
