  • I really enjoyed my stay here and I'm looking forward to coming back sometime soon! I highly recommend this accommodation to others. It was very clean, the dogs were super sweet, it was very relaxing & private and I was bummed out to have to go home so soon.

  • This was our second stay at Old Oak Cottage. Can’t wait to go back. Love waking up and looking out at the beautiful pasture! Shelly is quick to respond to any questions we had.

  • We enjoyed the property. My husband walked and ran around the property and we both enjoyed the views. Since we were there in February we appreciated a heater that worked well and hot showers. The bed was very comfy. We both slept very well. It's a little far from Lodi. (We were visiting our son) But, there wasn't much traffic which made it doable. I loved the horses walking by and the friendly dogs, however, the dogs were a bit too friendly when we had nice clothes on. They were a bit dirty and we were trying to stay nice for a restaurant visit. They were sweet, though. The kitchen had ants, but not so many that we bothered Shelley about it since she was recovering from surgery at the time. Overall, it was a very good place that we would consider staying at again when we come back.:)

  • A relaxing and peaceful part of California.

  • If you love dogs and the countryside this is the spot. Our favorite part was the constant visits from their 5 massive dogs. We also enjoyed walking the field and feeling as though we had escaped the city.

  • This is a quaint cottage on a rural property that provides quiet solitude and beautiful scenery! While the property is located out of town you are only minutes away from all of the modern conveniences of a town. The hosts are very accommodating and respectful of your privacy. You'll find the landscaping and surrounding property beautiful and will enjoy the wood deck and fire pit on a cool evening or crisp morning with a cup of coffee! This was our 2nd stay at the cottage and look forward to another visit in the near future!

A Small home on 25 acres. There are pituresque views of horse pasture, vineyards and the Sierra Nevada range in the distance. Close to lake Comanche, many wineries, and beautiful farms. While we are getting our organic farm up and going we are offering special pricing. We will likely be planting a lot of trees or setting up our vineyard during the next few months.
I'm an artist and chef. And the home reflects that. I love it. Hundreds of acres of nature and farmland is just out the back door.
This is an extremely quiet area with clear skies and beautiful starry nights.
  • Clean, simple, quiet cottage. Adrienne's place is really well maintained and has all the ammenities needed for a comfortable stay.

Cozy private room upstairs at the back of the house with windows on both the west and east sides of the house. Nice view of the sunrise. Opening both windows allows the evening Delta breezes to sweep away the heat of the day. Ensuite bathroom. Large walk in closet with built in dresser. Custom whitewashed plank floors. Excellent mattress. Sitting room.
Fabulous room for the traveling professional on a temp assignment of 1-3 months. House is shared with us and another professional. At 3800 square feet there is enough room to stay out of each other's way. Additional overnight guests are not permitted. The room is upstairs.
We are nestled in a 200 acre producing vineyard. There will be occasional impacts from that operation. Sulphur spraying (sometimes by helicopter, more often by tractor). Harvesting, pruning, & training. The vineyard managers teenagers occasionally disrupt the peace with dirt bikes or loud music.

Peaceful and quiet in country setting
  • I loved staying here! I am a traveler for work and this place was definitely a home. Marie and Bruce are super friendly but they are super respectful of your space and privacy too. Inside of house is beautiful and you can tell that they put a lot of time and work in their place. You are practically on the beautiful vineyards of Lodi and it is so peaceful and quiet. Plus, they have a VERY cute and friendly dog. He loves to play fetch!

    Gregory2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 3 months at this rustic, charming casita, and found it exactly to my liking. It is rustic, and nature is nearby. You will find peace and serenity in the setting, out next to the vineyards. I liked having the space of a personal little back yard, which is all to yourself, and then in the front yard, the casita opens into a breezway/ shared area connecting to the main house where the hosts live. I say a breezeway but it's an open area, under a cover made of adobe and hewn timbers. A very handsome, tall 2 yr old German Shepard is usually in this area. He is quiet and playful, the nicest dog. I was there in summer and enjoyed the fruit stands and vegetable markets down on Rt 12, and fruits that the hosts of the house generously shared with me, helped me gather; figs, grapes, persimmons, apples, and pomegranates. All were grown organically by the owners, who also have no-shear sheep and a large solar display that is worth mentioning. It's a bit of a hodge-podge The people here are terrific and helpful and sweet. They are really responsive and can handle anything you throw at them. I give them 5 stars. Though it is humble dwelling, it is spacious, clean and comfortable.

  • Marie and her family are the best. This is a gem of a place. We have stayed many times and are NEVRR disappointed. Lots of privacy and just minutes to town or surrounding wineries.

Secluded, mini cabin on a 10 acre retreat style property with a Pool and Pond. King Bed, Full Kitchen & Bath, Out Door Gas Fireplace & Soaking Tub. Come for the beauty of the ranch, the coziness of the Tiny House and a place to truly get away from it all: Drink coffee on the deck, Drink Wine, Read, Netflix and Chill, Write, Daydream, Swim, Fish, Hike We invite you to come and relax and leave the world behind... ps. dogs LOVE it here! ***Please read the entire listing before booking :)
TINY HOUSE: Completely separate from the main house. (Approximately 100 yards away in the back end of property WITH THE HORSES!) It's the perfect place for a couple or single to relax and recharge :) Property: 10 acre Ranchette with a pond, pool, gazebo, walking trails and firepits. We are at the end of a dead end road and the back of our property borders 440 acres of county owned pasture land. All of the roads to get here are paved. We also have another guest house on the property that we rent via Airbnb. Dori and Meredith live in the main house on the property. Pool and Property: Guests will have full free roam of all of the property including the pool, gazebo etc. We have another airbnb on the property: Listing Link: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16857246 If you need an early or late checkout please book the night before or the night after. We are booked almost every night and unlike a hotel with multiple rooms to offer people we are limited to our 2 units and need time to get things ready for arrivals :) Animals: 2 -5 horses, barn cats and our house dogs. Horses: The Tiny House is located within the fenced area where the horses roam. You might wake up and they be right by the front window or you might not even see them. They are sort of unpredictable except at feeding time. If you would like to feed and/or pet just let us know Your Dogs/Cats/Horses: Friendly fur animals are SUPER welcome here!!! Most dogs go off leash and absolutely LOVE being free! They are also free to swim in the pond and pool. Make sure to let us know if you are bringing a pet as we have special welcome packages for them :) Our Dogs: Banks, Jett and Tennessee. Banks (german shorthaired pointer) is older and is inside 99% of the time. Jett (female pocket german shorthaired pointer) and Tennessee (goofy male black lab) like to play and lounge around outside. We have a fenced back yard off our main house and while guests are here they use this area. ***If your dogs are not comfortable with other dogs then we ask that you NOT bring them- we used to try to accommodate but it is too hard now. Your dogs: They are free to roam off leash. Our property is fenced but not secure if a dog really wants to escape. We find most dogs off leash just like to run in the grass. Your dogs can swim in the pond and the pool. If your dog is off leash you must keep an eye on them :) (Do NOT let them wander unsupervised) SUPER IMPORTANT: Do not let your dogs harass our cats, horses or goats. (It is normal for a dog to bark a few times at a horse but if it is trying to get to the horses or goats through the fences then you need to not take it close to the fence) Same with our cats- if your dog wants to chase our cats do not let them off the leash. Having said all of that about dogs- 95% of guests that visit with their dogs are Awesome pet owners and any of the above warnings would never even need to be said! We have unfortunately had some irresponsible doggie owners and now try to be as up front as possible with dog rules to help those that are clueless about being a doggie parent. Other occasional wildlife include deer, ducks, cranes, geese, wild turkeys, pheasants, otters, muskrats. Ducks and cranes are more common. Geese, wild turkeys and pheasants are seasonal. You will occasionally hear coyotes off in the distance at night. Fishing: We have a 2 acre pond. Many people fish all day- we just ask that you catch and release :) Please bring your own fishing equipment! Birds: We have LOTs of birds- we once had a bird specialist randomly come stay with us and tell me all the different types of birds we have here...oh how I wish I would have written them all down. Or perhaps you know about birds and can help me categorize them? :) Kids: This is a great property for kids to roam and experience semi ranch life. There is A LOT of water here. The pond is about 2 acres and there is a pool. We trust you know your children and can properly discern if this is the right place for them. :-) Over the years we have had tons of kids stay and enjoy. We allow kids 12 and older. About us: We are entrepreneurs and live in the main house on the property. We have an office that is 2 miles away and sometimes go there but also sometimes stay home if there are ranch chores to do. We are both originally from cities and enjoy the peace and solitude this property provides. We are more than willing to be friendly and socialize or give you complete privacy. If we are traveling we have caretakers stay on the property should anyone need anything. (And Dori's parents are 1 ranch over) Our interactions with guests: Some guests we never even see. Some we end up having cocktails and dinner with. We are friendly but can sense when guests want to do their own thing! :) In regards to ranch chores- we try to do anything loud during checkout hours :) Things to Know Before You Come: Secluded: We are 20 minutes away from a real grocery store so make sure to stock up before you come. There is gas station 2.5 miles away that has snacks and basic items. We keep tea and coffee and standard kitchen items stocked in the cottage. Connectedness: We have Wifi. Cell service is not very good. You can stand in certain places to get better signals but Wifi is best here for communication. Please note: the Wifi might go out while you are here and it might take 24 hours (or more) to get it fixed- we do not have utility services here like in big city- aka things happen slower here! This seems to happen about 1 day a month. We have guests here pretty much every night so if it does happen while you happen to be here we apologize in advance and we always work to get it up as fast as possible. Sometimes it's things like the olive branches needing to be trimmed out of the way of the beam! Most guests take it in stride and will do other things besides being online, however we have had some guests be very upset about this so we want to just give a heads up that this IS a possibility during your stay :) Ranch Life: The tiny house is luxurious but this is a ranch with animals and wildlife and dirt and bugs :) Please bring appropriate attire to fully enjoy the ranch life. If during the summer please bring bug spray and sunscreen. If during the winter please bring boots for the mud Seasons: Spring: Lots of flowers and wildlife. By June it becomes pool time. Summer: July/August are HOT- pool is great during these months Fall: lots of fall colors and cooler days and nights Winter: brings rain and it can be soggy so bring boots. The rain makes the grass green but there are not as many flowers as in the summer. We enjoy a lot of fires in winter (Tiny House is fully heated and air-conditioned.) Colors of the Ranch: In our area of California it does NOT rain in the summer. This means the grass turns brown and the pond level lowers about 6 feet. We have lots of different plants and some bloom during different seasons. Depending on when you are here the grass could be brown or green and some flowers you see in the photos might not be in bloom :) Meredith is originally from North Carolina and had no clue the temperature could drop by 30 degrees during the night in California (even in the summer) If you are not familiar with California weather please bring a sweatshirt as early mornings can be chilly. (And do not be afraid to leave the windows open at night for "air conditioning") We also make our own olive oil. If you are super interested, we can arrange for you to go one ranchette over to see the olive trees, do a tasting and talk to my 85 year old Dad about his trees :-) The olive oil just won gold again at the Los Angeles competition. He has about 100 trees and they are his babies and his oil is excellent...
The property resides at the end of a private road that is in the Sierra Foothills. Rolling hills with oak trees primarily. We are 30 minutes from Sutter Creek and the other old gold 49er towns and about 30 minutes from Shenandoah Valley the "other" wine country.
  • This ranch and the entire experience truly were magical. As a global traveler who dedicates time to taking in the beauty of nature around the world, I must say that this was a transcendent 24-hours for me. The land itself is exquisite and you can feel the magic, stillness and purity the moment you drive onto the property. The animals are clearly such beautiful, special beings and it was lovely to spend a morning in the same space with the horsies and experience my first frog symphony at night while bathing in the outdoor tub under the moon and stars! On top of all of these absolutely lovely experiences on the property/in nature, the little touches inside were incredibly thoughtful, welcoming and warm. My family and I have already talked about taking a group trip back to the ranch to stay in the tiny house. :) Thank you for your thoughtfulness and the energy that you put into crafting such a beautiful space and a magical experience for your guests! With lots of love, Nicole

  • A great, quirky space with thoughtful and professional hosts.

    Daniel2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This home far exceeded my already high expectations. It's a little tough to find at first but it's an absolute dream come true. The thoughtful touches for my birthday were so appreciated and the weather was perfect. I have no idea how to work their porch fire pit but I would have definitely enjoyed that with my partner if he would have come with. The outdoor soaking tub was worth the wait and the price alone. You can see so many stars and hear all the animals and wildlife talking to each other at night just enjoying a nice soak. I also basically ate all the Oreos in her snack jar..I'm so sorry for whoever checks in after me but their snack jar was on point. Lol. Very comfortable stay, I already can't wait to book again and return.

  • I had such a wonderful and relaxing time immersed in nature, frog song, bird song, horses ... such beauty and peace, and exactly what was needed to restore and recharge. Everything was perfect, from communication and check-in, to soaking in the outdoor tub, to the soft and comfortable bed. Lots of wonderful little touches to help me feel welcome and cared for. Such a beautiful space, indoors and out. Thank you so much for sharing this gem with the world.

    Suzanne2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Meredith & Dori's property was spectacular! The personal touches that they include when you check in are super sweet. They have everything you would need in there, from toiletries to spices, and snacks! If you want a semi-secluded tiny home that has amazing amenities and pure silence, then this place is for you. I am for sure coming back here! Maybe for my birthday. Lol

    Abigail2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We've been here several times. If you want some peace and quiet this is your place. If your partner chews their food loudly you will notice. Apparently I'm not a loud chewer unless it's quiet.

    Joseph2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This "Tiny House" was the perfect weekend getaway and Meredith and Dori have added cute personal touches to the cabin that make it homey. They left us some nice surprise welcome gifts for us and our two dogs, who had a blast running in the pasture and got to meet horses for the first time. The patio area was perfect for a relaxing evening in front of the fire pit. This was probably one of our favorite weekend get aways, and we hope to go back soon.

Unfortunately, we have had some clueless dog owners so we are now are as upfront as possible with all doggie rules. Other occasional wildlife include deer, ducks, cranes, geese, wild turkeys, pheasants, otters, muskrats. Ducks and cranes are more common. Geese, wild turkeys and pheasants are seasonal. You will occasionally hear coyotes off in the distance at night. ***Spring and summer brings LOTS of wildlife. Especially summer! We have LOTs of birds- we once had a bird specialist randomly come stay with us and tell me all the different types of birds we have here...oh how I wish I would have written them all down. Or perhaps you know about birds and can help me categorize them? :) Fish: We have a 2 acre pond full of bass fish- fish as much as you want we just ask that you catch and release. Please bring your own fishing equipment :) Kids over 12 are Welcome: This is a great property for kids to roam and experience semi ranch life. There is A LOT of water here. The pond is about 2 acres and there is a pool. We trust you know your children and can properly discern if this is the right place for them. :-) Over the years we have had tons of kids stay and enjoy. About us: We are entrepreneurs and live in the main house on the property. We have an office that is 2 miles away and Dori goes there to work a lot. Meredith is at the ranch doing ranch chores more often. We are both originally from cities and enjoy the peace and solitude this property provides. We are more than willing to be friendly and socialize or give you complete privacy. Meredith tries to do all noisy ranch chores during checkout hours :) Things to Know Before You Come: Secluded: We are 20 minutes away from a real grocery store so make sure to stock up before you come. There is gas station 2.5 miles away that has snacks and basic items. We keep tea and coffee and standard kitchen items stocked in the cottage. Connectedness: We have Wifi. Cell service is not very good. (Just a grade above terrible::) You can stand in certain places to get better signals but Wifi is best here for communication. PLEASE NOTE: the Wifi might go out while you are here and it might even take 24 hours (or longer) to get it fixed- we do not have utility services here like in big city- aka things happen slower here! Update- it could even take 1 week to get fixed as we just had an event occur where the internet was down for an entire week. This seems to happen about once a month. We have guests here pretty much every night so if it does happen while you happen to be here we apologize in advance and we always work to get it up as fast as possible. Sometimes it's things like the olive branches needing to be trimmed out of the way of the beam! Most guests take it in stride and will do other things besides being online, however we have had some guests be very upset about this so we want to just give a heads up that this IS a possibility during your stay :) Ranch Life: The guest house is luxurious but this is a ranch with animals and wildlife and dirt and bugs :) Please bring appropriate attire to fully enjoy the ranch life. Please bring bug spray Seasons: Spring: Lots of green and flowers by June it is usually very warm Summer: July and August are HOT- bring your swimsuit or just relax in the air conditioned cottage and on the back deck. We can't over emphasize hot! AKA you will be in the pool or inside the entire day. It will cool off by 9pm Fall: lots of fall colors and starting to turn green when the first rains come. Cooler weather. Great time for wine tasting! Winter (November to March): A lot of rain and it can be soggy so bring boots. The rain makes the grass green but there are not as many flowers as in the summer. We enjoy a lot of fires in winter (Guest House is fully heated and air-conditioned and has a gas fireplace.) We certainly have all seasons here although it does not snow. We also make our own olive oil. If you are super interested, we can arrange for you to go one ranchette over to see the olive trees, do a tasting and talk to my 85 year old Dad about his trees :-) (he often wins gold at the prestigious Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition- lol he is very modest so he wouldnt tell you but we will- its a BIG deal as its the #1 competition in the US and the fifth in the world) Tour is $100 per tour and includes a bottle of olive oil.. (Note this is based on the season and availability and is also based on his availability- if you would like to do this please message us and ask if the dates you want to do this are available before you book).
The property resides at the end of a private road that is in the Sierra Foothills. Rolling hills with oak tress primarily. We are 30 minutes from Sutter Creek and the other old gold 49er towns and about 30 minutes from Shenandoah Valley the "other" wine country.
  • Our third time back and this little place did not disappoint. If your looking for a relaxing getaway with the perfect hosts, you’ve found it. Can’t wait to come back!

  • Wonderful place to stay! Would definitely return.

  • We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect getaway! Dori and Meredith provided us with everything we could have needed for a peaceful, beautiful and inviting stay. Can’t wait to come back!

  • This airbnb stay was magical thanks to Dori & Meredith. The cabin was so cozy, designed with thoughtful touches, personalized for us, well equipped and felt so welcoming. It’s a unique cabin from stone walls to spa like bathroom decor. The land was also very pretty and peaceful with the lake. Being around the farm animals and wild life was so great. Overall, it was such a serene experience. You should check it our for yourself, and I will suggest this place to my friends and family!

    Emel2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing if you are trying to get out of town. We loved sitting outside and enjoying the sun and sounds of the animals. This place is beautiful and we will be coming back!

    Jacob2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a nice stay in Ione! We really enjoyed getting to meet the animals on the property and relax in a beautiful setting. We spent hours on the porch reading books and watching the horses. I took Meredith’s advice and went for a walk on the county land attached to the property, which was stunning.

    Elizabeth2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to stay and this place has shown up on your search, don't hesitate, book it. The cabin is super cozy and romantic and the kitchen is more than adequate to cook in as often as you need to. When you wake up, you can say good morning to the goats and horses that are right outside the door and enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck as the sun comes up over the mountains. During the day you can venture to a variety of wineries or quaint restaurants in the area. After watching the beautiful California sunset, relax back at the cabin and watch a movie in front of the fire. I could go on and on but you get the idea. This place is an excellent spot to get away and unwind, so just book it and go!

NOTICE: 12/19 - 1/19, no dogs will be allowed. We're sorry for any inconvenience. On your way to somewhere else or for a few days in the country, adults and kids over 10 can just relax or ride horses, take walks, play with goats, help out at the dog rescue, drive a tractor or collect fresh eggs. This room is accessed from the outside and has a private deck and entrance, great view of the horse pastures!. Well- behaved pets (2) OK . Please be total non- smokers.
We're all about animals here on the ranch: Horses, goats, chickens, ducks and pigs. We operate a rescue/sanctuary/adoption center for dogs and cats. Because many of the dogs are large this isn't the right place for young children. While guests are here, the dogs are primarily in their kennels however they are at liberty at times during the day for exercise. We will notify you before we let them out. They are all very friendly and love attention and belly rubs. Bring your non- aggressive, well-mannered dog who is UTD on vaccinations. There's a $25. pet cleaning fee. Non-smokers only. Thanks
Ours is a very rural neighborhood; we have fence neighbors on only one side. To the east, the view is fields all the way to the Sierras!
  • Shelley's place is a true farmhouse; there's animals everywhere. They run a dog and a cat rescue, so they're around in leaps and bounds. You would love staying here if you are an animal lover. She made breakfasts and dinners for us as a mini fundraiser for their animal rescue, using farm-local ingredients (e.g. eggs from her chickens, meat from her pigs). They were delicious, and it was a great experience for us.

    Dan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • If you love animals your going to have lots of them to enjoy.

    Cindy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you love animals, stay here. They have the sweetest cats. Collecting eggs and milking goats was fun!

  • A great place to stay especially if you love animals. Beautiful scenery . And a great host!

  • We had such an amazing stay at Shelley's ranch! We were searching for a short weekend getaway from the Bay Area and this space far exceeded our expectations. It was so much fun playing with all the dogs and seeing our own pup run around making friends. The breakfast was delicious and the room and bed incredibly comfy. We're already looking forward to another stay in the future. Thanks for everything, Shelley!

    Nathalie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • A unique farm experience. To get away from it all. Great rooms with a comfy bed. Wonderful breakfast! To enjoy the animals and go for a horse ride! Enjoy this fun experience!

  • We had a great time, the food was yummy, we rode horses, milked goats, and played with the dogs. If you need a dog fix, this is a great place.

  • A beautiful setting in ranch country. Within an hour of historic towns. Yummy breakfasts available at reasonable cost. The complimentary figs and home made goats milk yogurt blissful! All the animals are so loved and seem to be on vacation too!

  • Yes! This place gets my 5 stars out of 5!!! Slice of Heaven Ranch is a unique adventure for anyone who loves animals and wants to get out into the country too!!! I only got to spend one night on this trip but I will definitely go back again! Shelley was quick and easy to communicate with and made me feel like a queen! I received fresh-out-of-the-dryer warmed blankets, had a super comfy mattress, stayed in lovely & cozy room with beautiful horse-themed photography (in their house but with a separate entrance) -- and -- I chose to pay the extra and i was served a full country-fresh breakfast that Shelly went out of her way to make for me in her own home -- gluten-free - for my dietary restriction! And delicious!!! Plus, plus, plus: the biggest bonus was that my own 3 year old rescue dog, a Golden Retriever named Ruby, had a blast! Ruby ran & played with Shelly & Dennis's rescue dogs & also I got to meet a number of their rescued horses -- as Shelly was going thru her morning horse care and chores!!! Another positive -- I was in the area for dropping off one of my own horses with a carriage driving trainer and was able to park my truck (with equipment in it), close to the house and I really appreciated that it was very secure (within the fenced ranch yard & close to the house)! Come stay as a guest at this ranch and enjoy it -- and -- you are also helping (& witness first-hand) Shelley and Dennis's efforts to continue their amazing work caring for homeless and abandoned animals! There were two husky pups & several very sweet older dogs that had just arrived (and one dog about to get a $2,000 hip surgery that hopefully will then find a good home)! Thank you sooooo much to Shelley & Dennis for a great visiting experience and for sharing your Slice of Heaven Ranch -- with the many various homeless animals as well as guests like me (and my golden retriever, Ruby)!

  • Shelley and Dennis were available and generous with their time answering questions and sharing about their ranch and family life. It was an extraordinary windy and rainy late afternoon and night. We could see them traipsing back-and-forth taking care of horses and dogs other buildings and farm animals. The next day there were branches broken and some outdoor furniture toppled. Their energy and compassion for their ranch and guests was charming. With ample time and new blue skies in the morning, Shelley brought us over a real farm ranch breakfast with fresh eggs, goat yogurt, sausage omelette and homemade jam. Our coffee maker provided fresh coffee. As they continued to take care of their ranch, they kindly wished us well and sent us on our way with big smiles. Of course we will go back again and next time I’d like to walk around and have a few conversations with the farm critters.

  • Beautiful rustic ranch with lovely hosts and adorable farm animals. Delicious breakfast prepared fresh at home by Shelly and an awesome riding lesson from her as well. My husband, our little dog and I relished every minute of our weekend and went home relaxed and refreshed after the stay. We will definitely come back!

    Yashmita2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Shelley and Dennis, the owners of the ranch, are very charming and warmhearted people. They do everything so that their guests feel well and comfortable amid the daily chores of ranch life. The rooms and the furniture are cozy and decorated with love and family. I elected for "Dinner in the Room" which was amazing after a long eventful day!!! Great place for friendly dog owners and animal lovers. I enjoyed my stay immensely and hope to visit again soon. Thank you, Shelley and Dennis!

    Ethan2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed there during the fall. The weather was perfect, sunny everyday and temps in the upper 70’s. We picked apples, pomegranates, and rose hips; helped groom rescued horses; picked fresh chicken eggs; milked goats; and learned how to ride horses in their arena (highly recommend paying big xtra for that!). The room was comfy and clean. Off the ranch, we were able to see 10’s of thousands of waterfowl migrate at the Consumnes wildlife refuge, and have a night of food and drinks in downtown Lodi. Highly recommend staying here!

    Mike2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Shelley and Dennis are amazing hosts and have a beautiful farm with all the animals. We had a perfect weekend getaway and highly recommend if you want to relax and spend time with the animals, especially dogs. We arrived a little late on Friday night but Shelley was nice and accommodating and even cooked us a dinner since we hadn’t eaten. Next day, we enjoyed doing a horse riding class with Shelley, milking goats and feeding other farm animals with Dennis and also drove to an old town nearby that Shelley recommended.

My place is close to winetasting, restaurants and dining, nightlife, downtown . My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. You are in the heart of the Lodi wine region! Walking distance from multiple wineries, and just miles from fine dining. Uber is readily available and wine tours are also a option
This space is uniquely positioned in the heart of a great wine and food region. Outdoor activities are also abundant, and this space provides room for walks, outdoor eating and entertaining, and relaxing vineyard and country views. Relax and unwind in a unique and special country setting
This neighborhood is pure wine country. There are houses nearby yet you are given a level of privacy and intimacy that you cannot duplicate at hotels
  • Joe is a great host. I highly recommend this property.

    Lee2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet location in the vineyards. Lots more space than was pictured. Thank you!

    Linda2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The location was easy to find with the the directions from Joe. We didn't realize the home was attached to an office, but it probably was an oversight on our part in reading the details. Either way, it didn't bother us. It was a really cute home with many amenities and personal touches. The outside of the home was not finished, but you couldn't tell from the inside. The inside of the property was furnished and very cozy. At first thought, we were worried about the floor being too cold (we stayed in December), but the temperature was comfortable (the host controls). The host had excellent communication with us and there were no issues with our stay. The location was very interesting. We took a small stroll through the premises around sunset and it was very beautiful. We enjoyed the Christmas lights, the fun tractors, and loved being around the vineyards. It is conveniently nearby many of our favorite wineries in Lodi and we really enjoyed our stay. We had a great time and would recommend this home.

    Ka2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I stayed at Joe's little studio while wine tasting in the area. It's in a great location. It was quiet, clean and comfortable. It was close to many wineries, stores and restaurants. We'll definitely be back!

    Holly2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • We spend a wonderful time in this cozy home! Joe is a great host, and he surprised us with wine and cheese, that combined was delicious!! We return very soon no doubt and this time we planned to spend more time in that beautiful place! My dogs loved the place!!

    Damaris2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great little spot, really nice open space for us to take our dog out and run around. It was close to everywhere we needed to go and felt private. As joe told us, it is an active working farm, so there are cars in and out which is no big deal, but don’t be surprised when you hear them! It still felt private and clean and we loved our stay. Great WiFi signal as well. Highly recommend! and we loved the wine gift from the vineyard, thank you!

    Catherine2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Joe has a wonderful place just outside of town and we hope to stay there again. It is a farm so expect dust, it didn't bother us much though! All concrete floors which made is super easy to clean before we left. The place was so nice we even talked about moving down and trying to rent it! Can't say enough good things about this place

    Tj2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at this lovely little Air BnB! It was clean and comfortable and perfect for myself and my husband. The best part was sitting outside under the millions of stars in the quiet, and sipping wine left for us made from the very grapes outside our door! Can you do that in a hotel? Me thinks not! I believe people chose air bnb homes to experience being part of the community/way of living, and the home-like comfort, not the stifling rigidity of a hotel. This was again, perfect! Thank you and your family!

The house is up-to-date and relaxing. The beds are comfortable and the house was very clean when we arrived. Our host Fred couldn’t have been more helpful and was exceptional in promptly responding to questions without ever being intrusive. • Oxford ranch was easy to find and loved the ranch! Greeted by the sheep and further into the property, Gayle, the host. Such a peaceful place with all the horses. The Bunk House was decorated cute and very cozy. The trip was planned for a reunion with my sister who had moved out of state. She really enjoyed my choice in the BH. Love to come back in the future. • Don’t be fooled by the box “construction office” look exterior of this cute little space. This place has everything you could need for a few days stay. We loved the interior set up, really functional and cozy! AC works well too.

    Gina2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • As always, Gayle provides a homey and inviting space in which to unwind and relax. I've stayed there during cold spring nights and now, hot summer days--and the heater and AC both work exceptionally well!

  • Peaceful, clean and comfortable farmhouse on a beautiful vineyard. Jeanne was super easy to work with, very friendly and responsive to our questions. The setting was picturesque with the large barns, awesome horses, all surrounded by acres of grapevines! We were close to lots of vineyards where we could go for tastings, as well as downtown Lodi which had lots of dining options.

The house and property were to die for! Horse lovers paradise. We will be back!! If you are on the fence about choosing this place DO IT! You will NOT REGRET IT! Perfect for a family get away or even a romantic weekend.

  • My family and I couldn’t be happier from our days at this amazing place. The view was espectacular, super great host , the amenities were just perfect for us. We had a great time walking saying good morning to the horses, enjoying the pull and the hot tub, or just sitting down in the front porch and relaxing with the great view. We totally recommend it. Cheers!!

  • Jeanne's place combined a beautiful, rustic environment with a great, comfortable space with excellent amenities! We loved staying at the farm!

    Kay2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • We liked the place so much that we decided to drop all plans to go out and just enjoy the place. Kids got to see horses, they got to experience their first wagon ride, walk through vineyards, cool off in the pool, they really loved it. Jeanne as a host was very helpful taking care of every need and we were pleasantly surprised by the welcome we got. We would definitely go back again for another short vacation.

  • Beautiful property with tons of privacy. It’s a 10 minute trip to town for groceries but still completely secluded. Every amenity we needed was available and the place was sparkly clean. Beds were super soft and comfy. Our favorite part was the hot tub with 6 seats, each featuring a unique massage.

  • What a beautiful and impressive estate home in the PERFECT location! Very spacious and well appointed home that is perfect for a medium sized group or family. It is soooo close to countless tasting rooms and an adorable downtown area. We did tastings during the day then came back to the home in the evenings to the most beautiful and peaceful setting. Sitting on the back porch overlooking the vineyards with a glass of local wine in hand taking in the gorgeous sunset was just perfection. The owners are very kind, welcoming, and eager to help you make your wine country getaway perfect. We’d absolutely stay here again!

My place is close to parks. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). It is 1.5 hours from lake tahoe, San Francisco, Sacramento and 2 hours from Yosemite. 5 minutes to the lake Comanche entrance.
Our guest house is located on our small local family hobby farm. We have all kinds of farm animals and it is a great place to be centrally located when visiting northern california.
  • Excellent trip and enjoyed staying in the beautiful country. The hills were so green and amazing. Beautiful surroundings!

  • Teresa and her family were fantastic hosts! They made me and my friends feel right at home. The place was very well kept and supplied with everything I could have needed. It’s very quiet with only the sounds of the farm animals and birds. I highly recommend this place. Thank you again! Matt

  • If you need peace and quiet, this is it. Fit our needs exactly. It's simple but did the job and was a great value. Hosts were all we could have asked.

  • Perfect place to go when you want to get away from the busy city. Beautiful animals, great hosts, and an overall serene environment. Our place had everything we needed and more. Loved waking up here in the morning. Would like to go back!

    Haley2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa has a cozy, clean guest house with a full kitchen, living room, and two big TV’s. However, the best part is the fact that it’s on a small farm with 3 cute horses standing just outside your front door. She also has 2 sweet farm dogs which love attention. The only downside is the roosters start crowing at 4:30 in the morning. If you are a really light sleeper you might want ear plugs but it’s not that loud and just adds to the authenticity. Teresa was very sweet and accommodating.

  • Large and beautiful home surrounded by vineyards in the heart of the Lodi wine region. Backyard swimming pool, large kitchen and living areas make Lynn's property feel like home. Lynn was always available to answer questions and give advice. She is a real super host.

    Haydi2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn is a true hostess. She’s thought of everything from the kitchen to the laundry room, bedrooms, bathrooms, swimming pool area, and parking area. She is super responsive and welcoming. We will recommend Lynn’s home to friends and family in the future.

    Haydi2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed Lynn's hospitality. Her house was spacious and comfortable.

    Don2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Lynn’s home for 5 weeks while on a work assignment. It felt like living on a mini farm, so homey and welcoming! There are animals in the home, all very friendly and they mostly keep to themselves. There is parking in the driveway, a fan and floor AC unit in the room if it’s hot (gets into the 90s in the summer!), and the bed is comfortable. My bathroom was technically a shared bathroom; however nobody was in the adjoining room during my stay and if there was, Lynn is considerate as to choosing a safe, working-professional roommate. Lodi has a cute downtown 10min away, Yosemite is 3.5 hours and Lake Tahoe is 2.5 hours. I would definitely stay with Lynn again! She was a great communicator, fun to talk to, and welcomed me into her home!

    Kyra2019-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn’s place was very comfortable. Very nice room with vineyard view. God guest set up in the kitchen. The outdoor space was beautiful with places to sit, relax in sun, shade, by the poo, etc.

  • The wine cottage is just amazing: surrounded by orchards there is the feeling of being in the country, but with the city so accessible and close by. The cottage has by far the best stocked kitchen I've seen anywhere. The cottage and outdoor space are very private. Both indoors and outdoors were great for relaxing after a long work days. A wonderful bottle of wine awaited our arrival! Great communication throughout the visit. The wine cottage will the 'go to' place next time in the Lodi area.

  • The experience with Lucia was fantastic! The workshop is small so the class is practically personalized, which greatly helps the participants. Lucia is very kind and patient and also gives great tips to make the paintings look much better. It was definitely a great way to spend Saturday.

    Mónica2019-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed all the wine tasting. Lot of great vineyards close by. Sitting out back in the morning and on the porch in the afternoon was great.

  • We had a great stay - the house was able to comfortably accommodate my family of four. The house and the grounds are beautiful. I enjoyed the seclusion and the ease of check-in and check-out. My kids loved that there are horses on the grounds that they could visit daily. You can tell they meticulously maintain the cottage. Was a great decision, we will definitely look to stay again when we come into town.

  • Le Studio was perfect for my needs. I’m moving to the area and went a couple of months before my family so my kids could finish school and needed a quiet and inexpensive place to live while I found a home. It was perfect! Marie and Bruce were great hosts who responded quickly whenever I had a question. I really enjoyed the home and will definitely go back with my family for a little getaway. Thanks you!!

  • We had only anticipating staying 1 month but Marie and her husband are such awesomely kind and very hospitable that we stay for 2 months. There is plenty of room, two beds, a private bath and the scenery is beautiful with so many flowers, fruit trees, and sheep. Close to many winery’s for tasting and great food is within a 10 minute drive. We will treasure our time at Ms Marie’s Le Studio!!!

  • Natelie's place was perfect for the long weekend. Beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked and the pool was clean. Communication with host was very clear and she was very responsive too! Natelie also gave good recommendations for wineries, instructions for checking in and out were very clear. Would love to be back here again!

  • We had a great time at Natalie's place. I requested a very last minute reservation, but she happily accepted our request and was so helpful with all the questions I had. She contacted me frequently during our stay making sure everything goes well. She even sent us a gift. =) Her place was much better than I expected, big, nice and clean. The pictures don't show it all. I felt like I was at a luxurious mansion when I was at the backyard by the pool. It was perfect place for our family getaway. I thank Natalie for having us at her place. I hope to come back here again.

    Hye2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Natalie was an amazing host! She was super helpful and quick to respond when any help or advice was needed. The home was clean and easily accommodated my family of 7 which included 4 children. The property is beautiful, over looking the vineyard and of course the pool.

    Brittany2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay we had! I came here with a group of 8 as well as 2 new borns. My husband and I along with other couples found this on Airbnb and saw the beautiful view and knew we had to come here. The pictures don’t do it justice. The outside is beautiful and inside is much bigger and open then I thought it would be. The host left a bottle of wine from a local winery for us which I thought was really sweet. I kinda bugged her with questions but she was very fast and always responded pleasantly. The house was very clean and had everything you need from coffee maker, to toiletries and more. Huge linen closet with extra blankets for anyone who gets cold! It was so nice to be poolside, with an amazing view. My group really enjoyed the corn hole game that the host set up for us as well. Very thoughtful! Overall a great experience and we will be returning here without a doubt for sure!! 5 stars :))

    Taylor2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Elizabeth’s house. Check in was easy and we loved staying among all of the grape vines. We were so lucky to stay during persimmon season and Elizabeth told us to pick as many as we wanted so we enjoyed them for days. The house was spacious and super comfortable. We had some issues with the wireless service being out in the country. Overall, it was a really comfortable stay!

  • Liz was a dream to work with. She was very responsive and flexible. She was incredibly nice as well. The house is lovely. Super comfortable and suited our needs wonderfully. We didn't lack for anything. Liz even left us some nice surprises we really appreciated.

  • A beautiful and cozy space to hang out and play games and fiddle music with old friends. Also a great base for walking and bird watching outings. Elizabeth was there when we arrived to welcome us warmly and to recommend a very pretty walk at a nearby winery. She even encouraged us to take home a bag of persimmons. Great space for a weekend on the country.

  • Lynn is so sweet and she makes sure you are included in everything or left alone if that is your need. She definitely communicates all the time and is overly respectful all the time. She laughs a lot which makes the toughest of days disappear! The area is quiet and you feel like work days are vacation. Thank you Lynn

    Sharyl2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • I came back to Lynn’s place for a few weeks after I extended my contract yet again. Lynn has become a dear friend and staying with her was like coming home. She’s so personable and easy to talk to, she definitely made me feel welcome and comfortable. I would highly recommend her and her home!

    Misha2019-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn's home is just that, a home. I've been staying with her for 6 months and she's made me feel like a part of her family. Her home is warm and inviting, the rooms large and spacious. She's easy to talk to, quick to respond when I had questions, and has a sense of humor that meshes with mine! I loved being close to places like Tahoe, Yosemite, and San Francisco while enjoying living in the country surrounded by vineyards. I'd highly recommend staying with Lynn and will miss her dearly!

    Misha2019-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This has been a very pleasurable experience staying at Lynn's place. Its a very natural family type environment and I like the out of city location. it is very nice and quite location. Also, its close enough to enjoy the city life, but far enough not to have to deal with the traffic and typical city noise. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

    Billy2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Lynn’s place for about two weeks while I was in town for training at the local flight school, and it was a genuinely pleasant experience. The location is very secluded and peaceful, giving you the sensation of being miles and miles from civilization. It is, however, only a very short drive to downtown Lodi. The house itself is gorgeous and is beautifully set among the vineyards of Central California. The room was very nice and clean with a comfortable bed. The house is huge with plenty of space in both the kitchen and common area. A nice touch in my opinion was the designated kitchen space for each guest. I didn’t spend too much time at the house, as I was out from early morning until late evening, and therefor mostly only saw Lynn in passing. But we did have some nice chats as I would be heading out. She is a very gracious and accommodating host and would always be ensuring that my stay was as comfortable as it possibly could be. Unfortunately, I was pretty busy the whole time I was there, and didn’t get to spend that much time exploring what the local community had to offer. There are tons of wineries and a few local micro breweries in Lodi and I will definitely have to come back at some point, when I have more time for leisure. It’s an amazing part of California that I believe has a tendency to be a bit overlooked, and is well worth a visit. I can wholeheartedly recommend staying at Lynn’s place if you do!

    Anders2018-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • I had only used Air BNB for a couple of weekend rentals prior to my stay at Lynn's. These stays were in rooms separate from the main residence with their own private entrances. Lynn's stay is different as she literally opens up her home to guests. You must pass thru the kitchen to access the stairs to the 3 bedrooms she rents out upstairs. The arrangement is geared towards long term (monthly stays) and more of a "community living" arrangement. Lynn is extremely friendly, accommodating and helpful with anything to do with the stay or any other needs you may have. I agree with prior posts by other guests, that the home is definitely perfect for people who like pets. During my stay, Lynn had one big dog, one little and one cat. They are all extremely friendly pets and I loved all three of them and they quickly became my little family while I was away from my own home, family and pets. For me (a pet lover) it was a huge bonus. The vineyards completely surround the property and I was lucky enough to be there during harvest season and got to see the harvest right from my bedroom window. Also as noted by a prior guest, it can get warm upstairs but is very comfortable to sleep with the windows open. Due to it being harvest (which they do at night), Acampo Road gets fairly busy and is right next to Lynn's house, so it gets a little loud at night if the windows are open. I originally booked my stay for a month, but had such a great experience that I added another month stay. Great experience and great host!!!

    Aaron2017-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay with Lynn for a little over a month. She has a clean and quiet place surrounded with vineyards in the country but still less then 15 minutes to Lodi memorial where I was working. The only reason not to stay with Lynn is if you don't like dogs because her dogs will like you.

  • I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Lynn was a great host and went out of her way to accommodate my requests. The home was comfortable and peaceful. The perfect place to come home to after a hard day at work. The pool was fantastic in the summer heat and the bed was super comfy. I'm trying to find a reason to return to the area JUST so I can spend some more time sitting in the back yard on that beautiful deck and watching the grapes grow on the vine.
