Places to stay in Canada
Airbnb's second "Most-Wishlisted" property across all of Canada, our beautiful loft cabin has incredible views of the Sechelt Inlet and gets all the afternoon sun. The beach is a three minute walk downhill, and our community is very quiet as it sits at the end of the road. Why not come and relax for a few days?
Our cabin has a wonderful view of the Sechelt Inlet. And it is all yours to enjoy. It is an a-frame, and so has a very open layout on the inside. It has an upstairs loft as the bedroom with an attached balcony out front. The bathroom is very bright, having a large skylight to let light in, and it features a lovely claw foot bathtub for soaking in. The cabin is situated very close to the end of the road that it lives on (10kms from the town of Sechelt), so there is little to no traffic to disturb your time away. Be careful, you may have the best sleep of your life here. There is oodles of hiking and mountain biking nearby (Coast Gravity Park is just up the road) as well as plenty of events and festivals to be enjoyed, especially during the summer months. Our cabin is a perfect retreat for anyone interested in experiencing the best of British Columbia. Two people can be accommodated very comfortably, but as well there is a pullout couch downstairs that can sleep two more!
Our cabin is in Tuwanek which is situated very close to the end of the road that runs north along the east side of the Sechelt Inlet. Beyond Tuwanek there is little else besides wilderness, accessed only by plane or boat. As a result, it is very quiet up here with little to no traffic. Right below us is the Tuwanek spit, which is often abuzz with divers. This is where we keep our canoe which is always available to our guests to use. Behind us up the logging road is Tetrahedron Provincial Park, which has plenty of trails and even a series of cabins that can be stayed in for the more adventurous type. It is advisable to have a rugged vehicle to get up there, and definitely chains if attempting in winter. About a five minute drive back towards town is Hidden Grove which has a very lovely, and easily accessible set of trails to be enjoyed by all. And another couple minutes towards town you will find Porpoise Bay Provincial Park which has a fairly nice, sandy beach and is pleasant to visit during the summer months. There is of course plenty more to see and do further away on the Coast. A few highlights include a nice hike about forty minutes from here at Smugglers Cove, hiking/snowshoeing up on Dakota Ridge, a nice drive through Madeira Park or Garden Bay, and a venture all the way to the end of the peninsula to see the standing waves at the Skookumchuck Narrows!

  • Gary and Jen‘a cabin is just perfect. It’s right on the lake, so incredibly cozy, and you really feel completely away from metro Vancouver. It’s perfect for a couple, has everything you need, and it’s an excellent getaway from the city.

  • Very clean and comfortable

  • We were delighted with the Gothic Aframe structure of ‘Alfie’ and the care put into all the building details. The size was spacious but felt intimate and cozy. The loft bedroom was very dreamlike, we had the best naps and sleeps there! We came to relax and play our guitars and it was perfect, and we walked at Hidden Grove one days when it didn’t rain. And the rain on the roof was like music! Gary and Jen were great communicators and we had all we needed. It was our first time in the area near Tuwanek and that was another reason why we picked it. Very unique all around. Thank you for making this space available to enjoy!

    Shirley2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • A really lovely getaway, and exactly what we needed. It was quiet, peaceful, close enough to town to be convenient, but far enough away to feel remote and surrounded by nature. Would highly recommend for a relaxing weekend away from the hustle and bustle.

    Alexander2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay and would return to this cabin in a heartbeat! It was everything we wanted: picturesque, cozy, very clean, and surrounded by such vibrant beauty. Thank you Jen and Gary for this unique and wonderful experience! We hope to return soon!

    Ivana2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy, quiet and relaxing. We felt we could have spent our entire time in the cabin, however, we managed to find a good balance with doing outdoor activities and despite the rain we still had an amazing time. It was so peaceful at Alfies, and we had some amazing sleeps. We would definitely stay here again for any future trips to this area and we would recommend it to everyone. Thanks Jen and Gary!

  • I hope no one books this place, so it's always available when I want to go to Toronto. EVERYTHING. WAS. PERFECT. The place is stunning, the view from the balcony, oh my goodness. The place is so clean, and Alper's check in instructions were so perfect and detailed we had zero issues whatsoever. The location of this place is perfect if you want to be within walking distance of the big hot spots. My boyfriend and I walked to and from the concert we saw at the Scotiabank Arena easily (and stopped in at the spectacular Shawarma place on the way home, SO good). Love this place so much and hope I can stay here again one day!

  • Simply outstanding in both ambiance and location . Needs to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. Even the hallway contains artwork. Each unit is completely different if you are lucky enough to see any of them. Walking distance to aquarium/ St Lawrence market, great Thai food literally next door. I consider myself fortunate to have experienced a piece of Toronto history, before the inevitable happens, and it is lost to development . I hope that is many years away, go now!

  • One of the best hosts and stays I’ve had with AirBnB. Highly recommend Marie and her beautiful place.

    Marc2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful as advertised. Marie is easy to work with. Open and airy yet cozy. Great location...walkable to Distillery District, Financial District, St Lawrence Market and great restaurants and shopping.

    Tim2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Marie’s place is the hipster, bohemian dream made manifest. The loft is glorious—open, light-filled, with soaring ceilings and exquisite details. I once lived in a similar place in TriBeCa and was enchanted and made young again while at Marie’s. It is, however, for a particular kind of traveler—one charmed by beautiful flaws (like moderately unpredictable heating) and happy to climb four flights of stairs. If the charm of industrial lofts is your thing, few places will beat Marie’s.

A bright & spacious Montreal Loft, featuring an exterior rooftop patio & BBQ, perfect for enjoying the sunny days of summer outside. This unique space is great for friends and family who want to spend a quiet & quality stay at the center of everything on the Plateau.
Before we start, here are 3 THINGS PEOPLE LOVE about this Montreal Loft: 1 - The LOCATION is simply amazing. We are at the center of everything and you can walk everywhere around town from our place. 2 - Our building has a lot of character. It's a typical plateau home built in the late 1800's and the loft feels SPACIOUS, the ceilings are very high and it has a lot of natural light because of the SKY LIGHTS. The place features lots of ORIGINAL ARTWORK and we have recently installed AIR CONDITIONING in the unit to keep you cool during the warmer summer days. 3 - The ROOF TOP PATIO is awesome since it allows you to enjoy the best days of summer outside and grill to your heart's delight with the BBQ found there! Here are 3 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting the Montreal DreamLoft: 1 - We live in a residential area, so NO PARTIES are permitted in our home at all times during your stay. 2 - Our BUILDING IS MORE THAN 100 YEARS OLD. Although we put a lot of time, love and effort to maintain it, the washroom features a freshly repainted CLAWFOOT BATHTUB, which might not be the best option for people who have mobility problems. The floors are slightly crooked and there's nothing we can do about it since this is very typical of older plateau homes. Actually, most Guests found this feature of the property quite charming. 3 - Like any other older buildings, the walls can be thinner than newer constructions and this is something very typical of all homes build in this era in Montreal. That said, it's not something that bothers us as residents and that's why we ask all our guests to respect the neighbors and to not be loud or yell or play loud music inside and outside the building at all times during their stay. Also, we expect our Guests to be quiet after 11h00PM. So if you intend to behave like a party animal, our place is not for you but if you intend to behave like a local, you should love your stay. Now that this is clear, let's get to the description of the place!
This place is located on a very QUIET STREET at the CENTER OF MONTREAL. This simply means one thing: you get out of our home and are right into the action and heart of the city! Within a few minutes' walk, you'll find the most sought after attractions, including the LAFONTAINE PARK, ST-DENIS / RACHEL / ST-LAURENT / MONT-ROYAL & STE-CATHERINE STREETS with hundreds of ACTIVITIES, RESTAURANTS, BARS, SHOPS, BEER-WINE, GROCERY and FRUIT STORES.
  • Don’t look any further. Best airbnb in town!

  • A great space in a great location. Satu & Ollie were very easy to communicate with and went above and beyond.

    Shiv2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem cabin. It is perfectly self-contained, with a well-equipped, modern kitchen and a bright, clean and spacious washroom with thoughtful touches like Rocky Mountain Soap products and large, plush towels (and a proper shower head!). The bed is comfortable with nice linens and the whole place feels so airy and open even though it’s a wee place. It’s a delightful cabin! The hosts were lovely and extremely easy to contact and left a very helpful guidebook on the coffee table. There are so many extras about this place that I cannot say enough good things: local coffee beans, a proper coffee maker and kettle, creamer in the fridge (!!) and some oatmeal left out for breakfast; the kitchen items were all clean and in good condition; the entire space was bright and clean and organized; helpful tips were posted here and there; the parking spot was super easy to get in and out of. The cabin is right in the heart of Banff and is a hop and a skip from everything...so convenient! There is an obvious pride of ownership and a lot of care that has gone into making this cabin welcoming and comfortable. I can’t wait to stay here again!

    Jessica2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • The Tiny House is in the perfect location, very close (2 minute) to the Main Street and bus services which was great for us (only a 15 minute bus to Sunshine and Norquay mountains for skiing / snow boarding). It was a very cute and stylish space. The hosts were extremely helpful with any questions we had / help we required. We would definitely recommend this place.

    Mollie2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful tiny home in great location. Really appreciated the tiny touches of coffee, oatmeal and bars left out. As well as how organized and labelled everything was. Decor was stylish and the bed and sheets so comfy. Would recommend to anyone! Had a great ski trip.

    Courtney2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our stay at Bampton Cabin! It had everything we needed for a perfect week in Banff! The bed was super comfy and the cabin was cozy and warm - which was wonderful in the middle of winter! We’d definitely recommend to stay here for your next trip to Banff! Thanks again Satu and Ollie :)

    Sarah2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This space was an absolute gem. The interior is so cozy, feels quite spacious considering it's a tiny home, and the heated floors will make you feel absolutely spoiled! We had everything we needed to cook meals and prep lunches for ski days. The house is just a block off the main street in Banff and a five minute walk to the ski bus stop. We hardly needed our vehicle at all. If you don't stay here, you're missing out on a perfect experience!

    Jennifer2020-02-06T00:00:00Z

  • Alper is a great host, you will not be disappointed.

    Fabio2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Alper’s while in Toronto visiting U of T with our son. The condo was perfectly located for this purpose, only a quick Uber ride away from the downtown campus. The condo was clean and the space worked fine for the three of us. It was quiet and in a safe buIdling. We had all we needed to ensure a comfortable stay. We especially appreciated having a parking spot in the City where we could just leave our car while we explored. We really enjoyed our time in Toronto and would absolutely stay here again.

Featured as Winnipeg’s most wish listed home, this fully furnished condo has exposed original brick walls, century-old timber beams, with interior modern finishes located in the heart of the Exchange. As well, this loft has 24/7 PARKING INCLUDED. It is located near The MTS Centre, University of Winnipeg, Human Rights Museum, The Forks, restaurants, cafes and lounges. T Book the private rooftop terrace for 85$/day between June-September!
Stunning brand new 575 sq ft. condo located on the 3rd floor. This suite has three large windows giving you a wonderful view of the neighbourhood and tons of natural light. What makes this unit spectacular is that it has a private rooftop terrace dedicated to its guests! The patio looks out onto the city and has the best view of Rorie street. This unit has been booked by plenty of photographers to capture the skylines and stunning views. We invite you to enjoy the beautiful sunsets during the summer times! This space was designed so that guests feel right at home in a cozy environment. A lot of detail was taken into consideration while creating this space to ensure you enjoy your stay with us in Winnipeg. The fully equipped kitchen offers stainless steel appliances such as a stove top, oven, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher. We also have en-suite laundry provided with detergent that is available to use during your stay. We offer basic cooking tools supplies such as oil, salt, pepper and various spices. In the morning you can make yourself a cup of coffee with the french press and complimentary coffee provided. For non coffee drinkers we provide a selection of tea. In the bedroom you’ll find an extremely comfortable queen sized bed that is equipped with fresh linens and a feather duvet. The bathroom features a shower and bathtub with a hair-dryer as well as complimentary toiletries and clean towels. Additional amenities include self-controlled A/C, closet space with hangers, an iron and ironing board. The space is very well kept, professionally cleaned and sanitized after each and every use. Here are 2 THINGS TO CONSIDER before renting this loft: 1 - This unit is in a residential area, so NO PARTIES are permitted in this property at all times during your stay. 2 - The BUILDING IS MORE THAN 100 YEARS OLD. Although there was a lot of time and detail put into constructing this unit, the nature of the building can allow for noise travel from other units. We don’t personally find this a bother, but a noise sensitive guest may. We do provide sanitary packaged ear plugs within the unit if need be! Like any other older buildings, the walls can be thinner than newer constructions and this is something very typical of all homes built in this era in Winnipeg. That said, it's not something that bothered us as residents and that's why we ask all our guests to respect the neighbors and to not be loud or yell or play loud music inside and outside the building at all times during their stay. Also, we expect our Guests to be quiet after 10h00PM. So if you intend to behave like a party animal, our place is not for you but if you intend to behave like a local, you should love your stay. High speed wi-fi is provided within the unit and there will be Netflix available for streaming through the PS3. * We provide one PS3 game but, feel free to bring some of your own! We have a 50 inch flat screen TV! Walking distance to major Winnipeg attractions such as The Forks Market, Museums of Human Rights, and Goldeye's Stadium. Convenience of 24 hour reserved parking space.
Winnipeg has been witness to a remarkable and continuing evolution: the transformation of its downtown area into a place to live and the place to be. From the pioneering success of the Forks, the state-of-the-art MTS Centre, the one-of-a-kind new Hydro Building, the iconic new Museum for Human Rights; the expanding University of Winnipeg developments and new Red River College campuses; to the vast array of arts and culture, clubs and restaurants that permeate the city's downtown and surrounding area. there is no shortage of places to go or activities to undertake. Scroll along beautifully landscaped waterside pathways and gardens, past new shops and waterfront condos…back through some of the city's finest preserved architecture and it is clear to see that there is almost an embarrassment of riches here…especially for a city as understated as this one is known to be.

  • Great, cozy place for a couples getaway. The cabin was gorgeous, clean and decorated beautifully! Very quiet and peaceful in the winter, with a beautiful view of the sunset over the frozen Golden Lake. Cindy was a wonderful host and gave us some good recommendations for food and activities around. She let us borrow some snow shoes and skates to use on the property which was very convenient. Overall, definitely recommend staying at any of Cindys properties.

***We are happy to announce that the Micro Cabin made it on 604now's 2020 BC Bucket List*** Come see why we're one of the most wish-listed Airbnbs in the Pacific Northwest, as featured in Cottage Life and Canadian Living magazines! The Micro Cabin is nestled on a heritage homestead surrounded by lush garden and towering cedars. The ocean and the hobbit village of Roberts Creek are two minutes away. Enjoy a solo retreat or a relaxing getaway for two while trying out tiny house living!
We are very proud to be the highest-rated listing and one of only a handful of Airbnb-verified properties on the Sunshine Coast! LAST-MINUTE AND SAME-DAY BOOKINGS: The Micro Cabin is kept ready for guests so if you need a place to stay (even on very short notice), go ahead and use the "Instant Book" feature. Our calendar is always up to date, too! The 125-square-foot Micro Cabin was inspired by the tiny house movement. Guests should be aware that this is a tiny cabin, which means -- it is a tiny cabin! The space is small but bright and airy, with high ceilings and lots of windows and natural light. We think you'll find it to be carefully laid out and thoughtfully appointed. In the winter the cabin stays very warm and cozy, even on the coldest nights. We are very close to the ocean so it seldom gets very cold here and rarely snows. The full-size bed is made up with 100% cotton linens to ensure a good night's sleep. The kitchen is well stocked with all that you need to make something delicious. The bathroom is a fully tiled wet bath like that on a boat. There is plenty of outdoor space here on our private acreage to sit and daydream or finally start writing that novel. Relax at the picnic table with a mug of hot tea and watch the sunrise or gaze at the stars. If you're lucky you might see one of our resident deer and her two fawns wandering around the property. Black bears live here, too! Our small homestead is one of the oldest in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast. We live on the property in the original farmhouse that was built in 1926 for the area's first school teacher. We look forward to sharing our slice of paradise with you.
Roberts Creek is a whimsical ocean-side haven for nature lovers, artists, and forward thinkers. If you consider yourself any of these, you'll fit right in around here!
  • Karen will make sure you feel at home. Loved all the details and thoughtful touches. We found very helpful all the tips and the quick responses. Great value and awesome experience.

  • We loved our stay! I can't recommend this place enough. This beautiful tiny home is just the right size for a weekend getaway for two. It had everything you needed. We arrived to cold beers in the fridge and a personalised card welcoming us. It's a short walk to a quiet beach, 20 minutes to the local cafe and a 10 minute drive to Gibson's. I can't wait to stay here again.

Hello, I have been in contact with Medical Doctors at our hospital for advice. As long as I clean and air out all units well in between guests and don’t interact with you while you are here it’s all good. We all need a break sometimes, especially now. Come and breathe some fresh air, sit by the ocean. Bring your food, don’t interact with locals. I supply Coffe, sugar, salt, pepper and olive oil. Free Paddle boards/Canoes to use while you visit:)
Stay in this amazing shipping container (8X20) across from Shannon Falls. Its small but it has everything you need, comfortable queen bed, kitchen with a cook plate, all pots and pans and a full bathroom. It has an indoor and outdoor shower. Sit on the deck and enjoy the views of the ocean and The Squamish Chief. This private island is located 4 km from downtown Squamish. It used to be water flowing in between the island and the main land but its now filled in so you can drive right in and park on the property. It has a gate. Lots of room to store your Bikes, Skiis or Boats. Also available is a Bike wash and ski tune/wax facility. It's very rare that we get snow in the winter in Squamish so you can bike and hike all year around. Back country skiing is available in the Garibaldi Provincial Park. It takes about 30 min to drive to the snow line. Elfin Lakes Shelter is a popular spot and it's open all year around. Or if you stay on the Hwy Whistler/Blackomb is only 40 min away. (50km or 30 miles)
5 min walk or 1 min drive up to Shannon Falls, 15 min walk or 3 min drive to the bottom of the Sea To Sky Gondola. 1-2 hour walk/hike up to the top of the Squamish Chief one way. 2-3 hour walk/hike up to the top of the gondola. If you hike up you can buy a down load ticket for $10, a lot cheaper then round trip. Its 4 km/2.5 mi to downtown Squamish where you can eat , shop or rent bikes.
  • The location, beauty of the surroundings and the accommodation were perfect. Such a scenic, peaceful retreat with spectacular views.

    Chris2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredibly find! The c-can is one of the most beautiful Airbnb’s I’ve ever stayed in. It’s easy to find and offers amazing 360 views. The tiny home layout is so well done and has many fun little surprises such as a really special picnic area, a great book of recommendations, and some really fun table games. 10/10 would return as soon as i can.

    Brock2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a hidden gem! Beautiful and romantic space! I highly recommend it! Nice and close to town... Lots to do!

  • Waking up with that view was absolutely breathtaking!

    Siena2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • The mournful wail of the train in the night woke me just long enough to open my eyes and see the chief crowned by a single bright star through the window at the foot of the bed. I immediately fell back asleep smiling. Perfect location, the views are even better than the pictures (and the pictures are really good), super comfy bed, great coffee, and small extras like binoculars to spot seals!

    Ilena Lee2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute spot on the water, walking distance from some excellent hikes. Unfortunately we didn’t get out on the water, but we did spot a seal from the deck. Train, wasn’t an issue for us (lasts about 30 seconds). If I’m ever back in the area, I’d stay here for sure.

    Clayton2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best stay here at the C-Can! The tiny home is beautiful and had everything we could need. The views were amazing; and the space is stylish, clean, and serene. The coffee was great, and we enjoyed a peaceful sunset and sunrise from the chairs out front. This was the perfect place for a restful weekend getaway, and to get outside! We enjoyed many different hikes and really appreciated how centrally located this was- 2 minutes from Shannon Falls and 2 minutes from the sea to sky gondola! Thank you again for hosting, we had the best time!

The St. Anns lighthouse was built in 1905. This was a working lighthouse until 1962. We are restoring it and adding some modern luxuries for our guests to enjoy. The lighthouse is located in St. Anns, directly on the water. On the Cabot Trail. We are centrally located for you to enjoy all of what Cape Breton has to offer. Travel around the beautiful and scenic Cabot Trail. Enjoy the beautiful stars at night, and picturesque views of St. Ann’s Bay. The Gaelic College is just a few minutes away.
Stay at one of the most famous addresses in Canada, the Cabot Trail and at our decommissioned lighthouse. We started renovations in June 2018 and we have completed our first stage in time to open in August 2018. Every year we tackle a few more projects, in the fall 2018 we installed a new red metal roof, it looks amazing! In 2019 we enhanced the interior with shiplap walls, new kitchen floor, new storm door, moved and added a new wood stove to a center location and installed new trim work, keeping the historical Lighthouse in mind with every detail. This lighthouse has so much history. Follow us on Facebook, lighthouse on the Bay and watch our progress. The lighthouse is best suited for 2 guests. It’s super cozy with a king bed (Casper mattress) in the bedroom, and we do have a sofa bed in the living-room space. Our lighthouse is over 100 years old, so with this comes all of its unique features. We love our lighthouse and the natural surroundings, please ask if you have any questions prior to booking. Wake up to the ocean waves, have coffee on your front deck, watch the local fisherman haul up their traps, and take a walk on the beach. Walk our natural beach at low tide, find all kinds of treasures, sea glass and pottery that have washed up. Walk down the beach and find a secluded sandy beach area, bring a chair, beach towel, a little picnic and enjoy. We can help plan your stay, make local suggestions for restaurants, hire a fishing guide, or even provide a lobster dinner. The Gaelic College is just a story drive and Baddeck is 20 minutes. Cape Breton is beautiful. Our lighthouse is located on the bay in St. Anns, where you will see the most spectacular views, and the stars at night are the brightest you will see. Sometimes living in beautiful areas comes with some small inconveniences. Because of our mountains and valleys we can have some areas of the island with poor cell service, including St. Anns. On occasion we might get a local guest come and visit, some of our squirrels try to come in to save food for winter, they never come inside but you might hear them on the roof or the outside wall by the bathroom. Our closest grocery store is about 20 minutes away, in Baddeck. Yes, another inconvenience, but the only traffic jam will be the locals kayaking out front, some seals swimming by or eagles soaring by.
There is so much to see and do in St Ann's and all across Cape Breton. Locals love our varied cultures, and delight in the out-of-doors, as well. So many hiking trails, waterfalls, artisan shops, local restaurants, museums and music venues all across the island. The out-of-doors will always offer opportunities to enjoy our views and active lifestyles. Grab your fishing rod and head out along the streams and rivers that flow through our woods. Or try your hand at fishing for mackerel on the Jersey Cove shore. You can even dig for clams in the bay. In summer, take a boat tour out to the Bird Islands, nesting grounds of the Atlantic Puffin. Or kayak in the world-famous North River. St Ann's Bay is also famous for our world-class artisans. From May through November, you will find these folk busy creating stunning pieces in all kinds of media — you're welcome to watch them work. In the off-seasons, call ahead. In summer, plan to take a couple of days to visit every one!
  • This space is even better than the pictures can reveal. It is a wonderful space to hang out in and a perfect location to explore Cape Breton. Every detail has been thought about. The bed is extremely comfortable. It is very clean and beautiful. The views are absolutely breathtaking. We hope we can get back there soon.

    Karin2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed here for 6 days during Celtic Colours. The property is superb in every way. It is ideally located close to the Gaelic College and Baddeck, giving you easy access to many of the excellent music and cultural events. John and Rosella are superb hosts.

    Wayne2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • It doesn't get any better than that. The lighthouse truly is one of the best accomodations we have had so far. Every detail is well thought out and arranged with love. The location and view are awesome. Plus the nice supplies that our hosts provided, including a bottle of wine. We would love to return one day.

Our hosts went truly out of their way to make our stay extra special. We really enjoyed waking up to the ocean views, kayaking on the bay and spending time up at the top of the lighthouse. We would definitely recommend staying here!

  • This is a great place and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The lighthouse is a very special place and was one of our favorites during our 3 weeks in Nova Scotia. Rosella and John are wonderful hosts, easy to communicate with and always available for questions and tips. We only had 2 nights but we found everyting we needed for the stay. We did not have the time to use all the available thinks like the Weber grill on the terrace or the canoes to scout the sea. This is really a place to calm down. The interior design is beautiful and perfectly fit to the whole nice atmospere in the kitchen/living room. You always have the view over the sea and there is also an white-headed sea eagle flying around. We never saw one from such a short distance. Very impressive. I can strongly recommend this place. We had a wonderful and relaxed time and we plan to come back but then for a longer time. Thanks a lot Rosella and John for sharing this place with other people :-)

  • Travellers, Beachside Haven is summer paradise! so peaceful and clean. We were made to feel so welcome. Our family of four was very comfortable. We loved being a few steps from the red sandy beach and watching the seals bask in the sun from the dining room window. The kayaks were a really nice bonus and the girls loved having bikes to ride. We had a rainy day and there were ample books, toys and games to keeps the kids happy all day. We are so thankful for our time at Beachside and would certainly love to return.

It's stylishly decorated and spotlessly clean - we would love to return one day! Thank you Donna and Marty for sharing BeachHaven with us x

  • Charlene and Brad are excellent hosts and great people! Both the River Cabin and Lake view cottage, which are in separate area's of the property, have spectacular views, are secluded and beautiful! You will have total privacy and feel like you are the only ones around as well as the ability to enjoy the space and your time there with the added comfort of knowing there is someone just a short scenic hike away if need be. With all the near by hiking trails and lake, we had plenty to keep us entertained and the cabin was a cosy, warm and romantic get away that we much needed. The River Den is a 4 season houseboat, docked in picturesque Wakefield, Qc on the Gatineau River. This dream boat is a floating tiny house which does not have hot water, electricity, or a fridge (we do supply a cooler). There's a cozy woodstove, cooking facilities and dry composting toilet on board.
The River Den is a 4 season (fully insulated) houseboat, a custom built creation designed by myself and my former partner who is the builder. The Den is 33 feet long with 23 feet of inside cabin space. The Den has a cozy wood stove and a second story sleeping loft with a very comfortable queen size bed. The loft has a steel grill floor feature, great for fresh air and heat circulation and for letting the sunlight into the main cabin from above! There is a full carpeted roof top deck, perfect for stargazing, yoga or suntanning and a front deck for lounging and has a swimming ladder. The boat has 3 eight ft patio doors and circular windows, a custom steering wheel and many more handmade rustic features! There is no 120v electricity on the boat (which means no regular plug in electricity). We can provide a power pack for charging your devises if needed. On bord is a Seperett dry compost toilet. There are no locks on the boat from the outside. Only from the inside (poles to lock the patio doors). It's a safe place and very quiet. Note: The Boat will be docked and guests cannot drive the boat. The boat is on the Gatineau River; great swimming and fishing. Also there is an expedition shop next door which rents kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, bikes, snowshoes, skis and more. Pls note there are steep stone steps leading down to the boat. Wear appropriate footwear! High heels not recommended;) We supply: -firewood -drinking water from the Wakefield spring -coffee and tea (no cream :) -butane and fuel for cooking stove and BBQ -medium sized cooler with ice packs 4 SEASON STAYS: The houseboat is fully insulated and has double pane windows all around. Making for a very cozy time all year long. It's very comfortable in the winter months. Bring some slippers or big socks. The steps down to the boat can be slippery if there is rain or snow so please arrive in appropriate footwear. In the winter months there is no running water, but the drain in the sink still works and therefore guests can still do dishes, etc. We ask that guests warm a pot of water on the woodstove to have hot water for doing dishes to make sure they are shiny for the next guests! UTube: " Houseboat " for a video tour of the River Den , made by our friends at Exploring Alternatives.
A few kms downstream from the Heart of Wakefield....charming, colorful in buildings and local characters! Cafes, boutiques, rail road tracks, spas, vintage shops, bakeries, great food, bars, swimming, water sports and fishing in the Gatineau river. Amazing trails for cross x skiing , skating, hiking, biking trails and 4 good ski hills within 15 min drive. Ice fish right from the boat in the winter! The River Den is 25 min. from the nations capital with multitudes of museums, galleries and historic landmarks to visit if you feel the need to visit the city as well. Many of our guests enjoy just getting off the grid for a couple of days, enjoying the sublime peacefulness and beauty of the Gatineau River.

  • Beyond our expectations. The views and setting are spectacular. A truly peaceful and quiet place to get away. I loved being off the grid, but while still enjoying the amenities I am used to. Very stylish decor, yet very cozy.

  • Amazing views, very private, and not far from the city. I highly recommend staying here. It is a fairly new construction so still very clean and well put together. The oven is impossible to use, don't plan on baking anything.

An incredibly unique true vintage studio loft space in a century-old building. COVID - 19: We are currently accepting bookings from healthcare workers and civil servants who are serving the community at large. If budget is an issue, please contact us. We support you. We clean and disinfect our space between bookings; however, if you are sick or have any symptoms, please stay at home. *50% off rate is only available through quarantine dates (up until April 2020)
Housed in a century-old building, this is a truly unique and gorgeously appointed artist loft in Old Town Toronto. We pride ourselves on maintaining the space to be clean, open, and inviting to all our guests staying with us. As you can see from our reviews, people absolutely love the space and we do everything to make your stay comfortable. We are seasoned hosts, and have stayed as guests at over 120 Airbnbs across the globe. We can't wait to make a positive stay for you! Vintage lighting adorns the ceilings, dozens of plants and beautifully appointed cacti, period pieces and other unique items add to the charm of this beautiful space. We provide everything from beds, linens, pillows, shower gels, shampoo, etc. This gorgeous space is one of the last like it in downtown Toronto! Enjoy it before the condos get built! Quiet: this listing is only for those who will be responsible and respectful to our neighbours by being quiet after the hours of 11:00 pm. Absolutely no parties or events allowed.
Being in the heart of downtown Toronto, our studio is easy to access via transit, car or walking. We're 10 minutes to the Historic St. Lawrence Market and the Distillery District for some amazing restaurants and architecture, shopping and restaurants & Christmas Market! The space is perfect for calm quiet fun, photos and memories. Our space is not to be used for parties or events. Cozy up in our vintage chairs and Papasan setee, hang out and binge Netflix, order in some local food, have a super fun time in a bohemian loft. We love sharing our spaces and very much appreciate you being respectful of us and our rules. The immediate area especially North and on Queen st. East is safe, but not the most pleasing overall. There will be homeless and disadvantaged persons around, and it's easier to not interact with them We recommend going south to Richmond and beyond to nicer spots nearby.
  • This space was beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We appreciated the detailed checkin instructions and the location was great.

Slide open the cedar barn doors in this open-concept loft and soak up the industrial vibe, tinged with live-edge walnut bar top and other wood accents. In the morning, step into a floor-to-ceiling glass shower, complete with large rain head.
You will love our open concept studio style loft that has sliding cedar barn doors and live edge wood accents which all contribute to a truly unique guest experience!

  • Thank you so much for a wonderful stay. Beautiful apartment with lots of character. Love that the wooden doors and tables were made by the family. Had everything we needed. Scott was great to communicate with - super responsive and went above and beyond in terms of communicating with us.

  • y boyfriend and I Had the best weekend here this past weekend. Our morning coffee view was amazing from the patio, our living room and loft bedroom area! Watching the seals right out front do their thing was so cool! Matt made check in and out super easy. We were worried about it being loud with the reviews about it being right on they main road but we really didn’t hear anything but birds, and the water. the people in the cabin right beside are somewhat close but it is still super private and they totally kept to themselves. We will definitely be back!

    Karissa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Only spent a night traveling through but wished we stayed longer. It’s a beautiful loft with rustic charm. Enjoyed the record collection and the great views.

    Dani2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The view from Matt’s cabin is spectacular

    Natalie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Rustic, waterside cabin. Cozy and warm. Yes there is a busy road. Yes rustic seems an understatement when you first pull in. But the views and the lovely open space inside make up for it. Matt was quick to respond to questions. We loved our stay.

    Tiz2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • When you drive up to this place on the water just off the road, your first thought is “is this it?” But when you walk into the unit it feels like a hidden oasis. Big open space. The view is incredible, sunrise and sunset, mountains, birds and water. The high ceiling, cement floors, large windows, fireplace, large dinner table and sitting area on the water make this place a must. I woke up looking at the ocean and mountains. Record player and albums were a nice touch and got a lot of use. We will definitely be back soon.

Come stay in our cozy cabin nestled in the woods, alongside the Gatineau River. It’s just a short 15 minute drive from downtown Ottawa, followed by a beautiful five minute walk into the forest. This is truly an off-the-grid cabin experience with some perks, so come ready to disconnect and relax.
We built this cabin in the woods behind our home. It’s a completely secluded spot without interruption, but you are still only a short drive from any possible amenities you may need (i.e., grocery store, pharmacy, gas station). As previously mentioned, the cabin is off-the-grid, meaning there is no running water, but there is electricity powered by solar-energy. This means the cabin is completely lit and you are able to charge devices (i.e., phone and/or tablet). That said, there is no wifi. You will have access to an out-house with a compostable toilet. We also provide our guests with drinking water, as well as any water needed to cook and clean dishes. Additionally, the cabin is heated with a very efficient wood stove. The kitchenette is well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, a coffee press and some basic cooking needs (i.e., spices, flour, salt, pepper, sugar). We also provide a small stove-top for cooking.
  • Loved it! My boyfriend and I decided to spend the weekend there to celebrate our 5th anniversary. The place is really cute and you can access it via a little walk in the woods! Carolyn wasn’t there when we arrived but she made made sure that we would have everything we needed. She was easy to reach and answered all our questions. She even lent us her sled to move our heavier stuff around. Great hosts, great little cabin, great spot..!

    Daphnée2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a great time at this little cabin, wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin is very well stocked and has everything you need. We will definitely be coming back in the future!

  • Super cute place. It was really perfect to spend the night and just enjoy nature :) would recommend!

    Chelsea2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place was unreal. The location is within 10 - 15 minutes of downtown Ottawa but somehow you feel like you're in the middle of the woods right off the river. The view from the cabin itself was great. No matter what corner you looked out, there was nothing but trees with guided pathways from your parking spot or to the water. There was a firepit and barbecue outside within 10 feet of the wood supply and a few Muskoka chairs to chill out. The electricity is solar, and we had no issues charging multiple phones at once and had the exterior lights on for about 4-5 hours (we left them on by mistake). Only then did they start to flicker because of the lack of power. Inside the cabin there's a few board games, pots, pans, etc. If you're not an environmental junky then I might recommend bringing paper plates which you could use as fire kindling. We ended up boiling water which took about 5-10 minutes per use (which we didn't mind doing). She leaves you with a good supply of butane to run the portable stove, but no propane for the BBQ outside. All in all, this is an unreal place to chill for a weekend. You can easily sit back and relax with your favorite people, or even work using your phone's internet (LTE ran flawlessly). Carolyn was great. I noticed there was only 1 set of snowshoes, and without asking she brought a second. You're crazy if you don't like this place.

    Brendan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • As I sit down after several days of reflections and recollections, I look upon this journey with great fondness for this lovely little cabin in the woods. As the snow was falling from the sky and we were warm in the cabin, we were able to marvel in amazement at the beauty of nature. But actually, this place is great and there are many special touches around the winterized cabin; snow shoes, plenty of firewood, a well-stocked kitchen, and a very comfortable bed.

    Nathan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little piece of off-the-grid heaven. Nestled in a mature forest with a beautiful winding path through the woods down to a private little gem of a cabin.

The cabin includes sustainability touches, such as planting 10 trees with bookings as well as using bulk refill products to reduce plastic waste, touches a eco conscious family were delighted with. We would definitely recommend!

We have a very strict cleaning policy, cleaners are required to not only clean but disinfect all surfaces. We take this pandemic very seriously and want to ensure the safety off all our guest. Cleaners: Break down grease and remove organic material from the surface. Used separately before using disinfectants. Disinfectants : Chemicals that kill most germs. Applied after the surfaces have been cleaned. A drug identification number (DIN). The best experience without all the worrying.

  • I spent an amazing weekend in this cozy cabin with a group of friends. It was very clean and comfortable on a nice property overlooking the lake. With a wood burning stove in the living room area, as well as heating, we were very warm through the snowstorm. This place is beautiful in the winter, and we hope to come back and stay sometime this summer. Stephen was very helpful before and during our stay, with prompt and thorough responses. Everything was as described, and the cabin had many thoughtful touches and provided everything we could have needed. The cabin sleeps around 6 people, and would work for a family or group of friends. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a cozy and relaxing getaway in nature.
