We enjoyed our stay here at this charming cabin with a lovely private outdoor area for kids to play outside. The braai area was great. We had a fantastic time in the area going on a whale watching trip and walking on an exquisite beach where the lagoon met the sea. the spring flowers were looking so pretty. It was too cold for us to swim but there is a great pool facility and jungle gym area for the children.

What a wonderful plan to relax and enjoy your time with your family.

Caroline and Bill's place is comfortable and their hospitality is fantastic. This is a lovely place to get away for a few days and just unwind even with kids. Close to main towns as well. Definitely worth visiting.

Ideal for families (with small kids) and couples ( 2 beds in main bedroom, one in the lounge), no TV in the unit but in a separate BBQ area. Pets on the property but very friendly. Due to how the alarm is setup, you need to let the owners know what time to expect you (roughly) so that they can turn it off to let you in, some people may feel restricted due to this. Lovely recommendations for things to do in the surrounding area can be found in the unit. Whale Coast Mall about 10-15 minute drive away should you need anything.

Easy stop over if you are travelling between Cape town and Western Cape!

Great stay at Caroline and Neil! Probably the most authentic we have them. Their meeting was very enriching in our learning of this country. The accommodation was very good and functional in every way. We enjoyed doing the Braii with our hosts. The accommodation is still a few km from Hermanus but we sleep in total calm. Thank you !

This is the perfect restful getaway! Everything is clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. It's the kind of place you walk into and say "Wow!" The view of the bird-filled garden and the distant lagoon is refreshing for your soul. Explore the sleepy little residential suburb on foot or drive to nearby Hermanus for shops.

Beautiful quaint cottages set on a Protea farm. The back of the unit has a great view of the mountain and amazing sunsets. The front has ample space for kids to run around in a safe environment. Perfect for a few days away to relax, unwind or tour the local area. Overall a great experience

Kolie and Natasha are great hosts! Old school friendliness and keen to help out. I forgot braai spice for our meat and asked them where the closest shop was, next thing we knew, there was salt, pepper and braai spice from their kitchen! Woke up early to go kayaking and we were met with the wild horses chewing on some lawn. Interesting little town, lots to do for the adventure seeker and water sports lover. Close to all the popular spots, but without the busy traffic and crowded beaches.

Winston and Barbara have thought of everything to make this place clean, comfortable and welcoming. Muesli, fresh flowers, snacks, a guidebook with some personal and local history about the nearby surroundings, and a lovely garden in back -- all these are set to spoil each guest. They are gifted at hospitality -- happy to chat, or to just allow you the space you need. Speaking of space, you can drive your car into its own gate, and be closer to your door. We highly recommend Winston and Barbara's place and hope to return on a future visit.

It's a great house in a stunning surrounding in direct proximity to the lagoon and only around 15min walk (with kids) to the beach (sunset!) It's very well equipped and nice and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay very much and would go there again!

Very good value for money. In a secure residence at the edge of the pond and the sea. Very quiet in August (winter) ... There are no shops on site, there are supermarkets and restaurants 10 minutes and Hermanus is in 20 minutes by car.

Great place for walks on the beach

What a great place! We had a wonderful stay at Rondawel 3. It is very well equipped and comfortable but the real star is the location. You can hear the sound of the sea and get a beautiful view on the estuary and the ocean beyond from the braai area. The beach is beautiful and only a short walk away! We really hope to come back.

Fantastic hidden place ! The location by the lagoon is ideal for long walks, and the braai area for dinner with friends. The house is nicely maintained, beddings comfortable and kitchen fully equipped providing a homy feeling. Anthony is extremely reactive and the staff members into the complex polite and friendly. Will definitely visit again !

The Rondavel has everything you need. Set in a quiet estate right on the lagoon and a stones throw from the beach. You can listen to the sea. Great big swimming pool on the estate. Just a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Hermanus.

Anthony's place is located in the beautiful Middlevlei nature reserve. It is right on the vlei and has an amazing view of the beach. The rondavel is spacious and comfortable. It is also quite and private. We had a lovely relaxing time. Highly recommended.

I must say this place, the home, the hosts, the location was so much lovelier than I expected. I don't think the pictures do it justice. The home was immaculate with all the right touches. Comfy beds, lovely clean bathrooms, spacious family areas, incredible deck. The hosts, Marc and Chimene, were so nice and welcoming. I really can't say enough superlatives, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were a family of 3 adults and a toddler. Marc and Chimene put up a fence so that the toddler couldn't get to the pool unattended, supplied a box of toys and made our stay so awesome. The wild horses roaming the neighborhood was an extra special treat. But most of all the home itself was really really lovely! Would definitely stay again and again!!

The house is a real home from home. A really warm welcome. The house is comfortably furnished with all mod cons that allow for a lazy holiday with maid service available if required (at extra cost). There are terraces for lounging, a garden full of birds, views over the lagoon, and a pool to dip and play in. What more could you ask for.

Our expectations were certainly exceeded. A relaxing, tranquil place far enough away from everything to wind down, but close enough to Hermanus and big malls should you prefer a little action. We especially enjoyed the layout of the house, the pool and the fantastic view over the lake and vineyards.

The house is full of thoughtful touches to make your stay very comfortable. The upstairs area offers a lot of extra space. You are close to the clubhouse and the house offers easy access to the tennis courts, indoor games area as well as the swimming pools. It is also a short walk to the stunning lagoon and beach. Mildri is an excellent host with easy communication. Looking for a truly relaxing holiday in a wonderful natural setting in a charming home? Look no further. We would definitely return again.

The cabin is located within a nature reserve with a 2 minute walk to the ocean. The cabin is perfect for a family with young kids or two adults on their own. The kitchen is well stocked and the hosts are very responsive and helpful. Thank you again!

It was okay, but aircon, fans, or at least mosquito window screens would be much needed. The place was incredibly hot. Also, it's near the water but it's not a sandy beach and you cannot swim there.

What a practical and cosy space! A place we would visit again. Only little issue was the double bed in main bedroom, which was too small for our comfort. Location is stunning.

A very cozy and harmoniously furnished accommodation. We enjoyed spending the evenings on the balcony. We were able to park our car in the driveway. It is a short drive to the beach and shopping. We used the house for two. It is also very suitable for more people. Angela was an excellent host.

Our family had the absolute best time staying at Angela's beautiful home - it is the perfect space to explore the Overberg region. After a busy day of swimming in lagoons, hiking or wine tasting we came back to the peaceful haven of Angela's home. The surrounding mountains and seascapes viewed through every upstairs window are breathtaking. She and her daughter are expert hosts, thinking of all the small and big things to make our stay feel welcoming and fun: from a lovely welcome note on the chalk board and chilled wine with fabulous cheese, fig preserve and biscuits to making sure the kids had lots of fun games and beach toys. Not many places welcome the whole family in such a wonderfully warm way - we left with hugs feeling we knew them! We will most certainly be back :)

What an amazing view - lagoon, sand dunes, mountains and sea. Add to that wild horses, flamingo and loads of birds. If the lagoon is full, the sun is shining and youve stocked up on wine, i cant think of a better spot to chill. Its pretty small building tho, although bright and airy, but youll want to spend all you time outside anyway. Plenty of ganes for children too - spades, rugby, cricket etc. The only criticism is the grill is slow, but i had to scratch my head to think of something! Kari was helpful and easy going. Highly recommended for a short break to get away from it all.

We had a real good time at the Round House. It is the last one in the complex so it makes it even closer to wilderness. It's a well equipped little house and quite a unique experience. We recommend this for anyone who wants to relax and unwind. The kids slept upstairs and my wife and I were in the main bedroom downstairs. There are a few toys and all necessary for the bathroom. We enjoyed breakfast outside on the terrace with a wild horse just downhill from us. The beach and warm water of the lagoon is a short walking distance away. We even enjoyed taking an outside shower ! The 25mx25m pool is not far and my 7 year old was tall enough to stand all around! It was a great week-end and only 1h30 away from Cape Town. We will try to be back soon with the SUP paddle board as the lagoon is perfect for that.

Honey Rock cottages are beautiful restored farm worker buildings simply, elegantly decorated and thoughtfully equipped. Their location is magical, with a back-drop of the mountains of the Kogelberg Biosphere and the reassuring sound of the sea. The town of Kleinmond is a five minute drive away, as is the beach and access to public hiking trails on the mountains. The hosts and team are just lovely, warm and welcoming. We loved our three weeks there and will be back for sure. Hope you enjoy your time there as much as we did.

The Cottage is on a beautiful farm, Wayne , the guest manager, is exceptionally friendly and willing to help. We will definitely be back. It was absolutely beautiful.

Wonderful weekend getaway with lifelong friends in a gorgeous setting. Absolutely loved the small touches such as shower caps in the bathroom. The sizable supply of amenities for the kitchen was very welcome. The special tray of flapjacks with all the yummy extras on the last day was well-received and thoroughly enjoyed by the girls! On the side of a lagoon with stunning views over the lagoon and a short walk to to deserted beach. Close enough to Hermanus but away from the crowds .

Wonderful home in a very quiet spot near Hermanus. Sue is an exceptional host as we arrived to home make Milk Tarts and a home that was wonderfully appointed. Beaches are absolutely beautiful and the wild horses on the beach make this an absolutely majestic spot. Sue's home is perfectly appointed with three bedrooms all with on-suites. We can't wait for the next time we want to stay in Hermanus so we can stay here again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This was a fantastic find for us in a beautiful location with lots of wildlife, an amazing beach and the peace and quiet we were looking for. This lovely getaway is inside a beautiful nature reserve with a view of the estuary and a short walk from a magnificent quiet beach. We loved the beauty of the location.

What a privilege to have these memories of our whole family visiting in this majestic old farmhouse. A real refuge from the bright lights and city noise. We were welcomed warmly and had everything we needed for a lovely relaxed stay with long, slow days, ending in comfy reading corners served by a bookshelf full of gems.

The farmhouse is even more stunning than on the pictures. Especially the living room is even more spacious than initially thought, the terrace at the back is just perfect to unwind and the surroundings are too beautiful! This is a real gem that's certainly worth visiting!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely old farmhouse. Clean, cozy and relaxed with a fabulous kitchen which opens out onto a braai area. 20 min from Hermanus and closer to Kleinmond where you can enjoy beaches and some tourist shopping and restaurants. The only drawback for our family was that there is no swimming available for kids. The river/lagoon area is not suitable for swimming, especially for small children. Petrus greeted us and he was very friendly and welcoming. Our hosts always kept in good contact and were there if we needed them.

Absolutely fantastic. Much more value for your money than the AD on Airbnb.
