  • Amazing experience, super host! Really recommend this camp! Mohammed and his family are perfect hosts! Communication with them was perfect - they picked us up from the parking on time, then we got an amazing jeep tour on the desert - it was just amazing fun, beautiful views and even better sunset later on! At the evening we got a local dinner with other travellers in the common area (tent), Mohammed told us some stories about Bedouins culture and we had just the perfect time together. At the morning we got also local, very good breakfast and he dropped us off to our car when we were ready.

  • We spend two amazing days in Mohammed camp! He pick up us in the main parking close to the desert. The parking is really safe. The camp and the room we’re great! We slept really good and the water in the shower was hot. Mohammed had even organized a birthday party for my birthday and it was perfect. Thanks a lot.

  • What a great experience. This site is extraordinary and so clean. Toilets are cleaner than some in town Airbnbs. Plus the diner and breakfast we had were very good. We were there we our two kids of 5 and 4 yo; we Strongly recommend this Bedouin tent.

  • What a fantastic experience never to forget. We shall return.

  • What can I say? Stunning experience! Everything was amazing! Mohamed's campsite location is far more beautiful than any other campsite. When you wake up in the morning, your soul and mind enjoy the amazing view. And if you're lucky, 2-3 camels are waiting for you a few meters from the tent. The food cooked by Chef was delicious, the same the taste of the fresh camel milk and the tour with Mohammed's brothers it's an experience not to be missed. Highly recommend!!

    Adriana2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the camp. We hope to come back some time. Mohammed was very helpful. We wished to do a special camel tour and he was able to arrange it.

  • The camp is a wonderful experience. Mohammed picked me up from a big parking lot where I could park my rental car. You can easily book Jeep and camel tours through him too. Bed was comfortable and dinner tasted great. Scenery is amazing and I highly recommend it.

  • Mohammeds Bedouin Camp is a fantastic place for an adventure trip to the Wadi Rum desert! The communication with Mohammed was good, he picked us up and drove us to his camp. Also the dinner and breakfast at the fire were really tasty. The tent was cozy and the additional blankets kept us quite warm. We also booked a Jeep trip and a camel ride which I can recommend! Thanks!

My name is Mohammed Zedane from the Al-Zalabieh Bedouin tribe in Wadi Rum. My family has lived in the desert for generations and we're happy to now introduce tourists to our beautiful landscape and ancient traditions. We have several Bedouin tents made of 100% goat hair that are both wind and waterproof. We generate electricity at the camp via solar panels in order to ensure that hot water and electricity are always available, allowing you to intertwine comfort and authenticity.
The Wadi Rum Protected Area Camp is located in the beautiful desert of Wadi Rum. We guarantee that you will fall in love with the star-lit night sky and red and white desert areas that emit a deep sense of peace and tranquility. At Wadi Rum Protected Area Camp, you will have the opportunity to relax and enjoy the sun setting behind the mountains and wake to it rising the next day. Our agency offers Jeep safaris, hiking, and climbing tours as well as camel expeditions. If you google "Wadi Rum Protected Area Camp" or go to wadirumprotectedarea dot com, you can easily find our offers. Please notice that the price on AirBnB only includes your overnight stay and a traditional breakfast in the morning. The tours, traditional Bedouin dinner, and round-trip transportation from the Wadi Rum village to the campsite in the desert (just accessible via 4x4 Jeeps) are add-on expenses. Nonetheless, if you compare our prices with other camps in the area, we are sure that you will still find our rates to be highly competitive. For more information on rates, please visit our website. Some important add-ons to mention are: - round-trip transportation to and from Rum Village to desert camp: 25 JOD - traditional Bedouin dinner: 12 JOD
The camp is located 17 km past the Wadi Rum Visitor Center and 11 km past the Wadi Rum Village. It is set in the protected area of the Wadi Rum desert. You will enjoy views of Jebel Khazzali, Jebel Qattar, Jebel Rum, the red and the white desert, and the valley of the moon. It takes 2 1/2 hrs to arrive here from the Wadi Rum Village by foot, 3 hrs by Camel and 20 mins by jeep. If you have your own 4x4 Jeep, you can arrive by yourself, otherwise the transportation to and from the camp to the Wadi Rum village will be 25 JOD. There is a mountain behind our camp that you can view the sunset and sunrise from. Please note that, since we are in the desert, there is limited internet and mobile phone reception available. Therefore, it is the perfect space to take a break from everyday hassles, watch the beautiful landscape and count the many shooting stars crossing the star-lit night sky in the night.
  • The time we spent at Wadi Rum was the highlight of our trip to Jordan and that was largely in part due to Mohammed. He was a considerate host that gave us an authentic glimpse into Bedouin culture. The camp has an excellent location and the food was some of the best I had in Jordan. You won’t regret booking your stay.

    Mary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was an unforgettable experience, it is impossible to describe in words the treatment we received and the landscapes we saw, it is a very unknown place that people do not value. Mohamed is very close and made us feel at home, without a doubt the best experience you can live in Jordan (even Petra) and without a doubt in the best company. THANKS A LOT

    Antonio2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The experience with beduins is MUST if you are visiting in Jordan. The tours are amazing and let you discover a big portion of the site. Can get quite cold at night but the can provide you an extra blankets (I felt fine myself) and there is a fire to warm up in the main tent. Would defenetely recommend

    Daniele2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay with Mohammed was outstanding. He’s very quick at responding. The camp was really nicely set up, it was clean and we had everything we needed. The food provided is delicious. The camp is ran by Mohammed, his brother and his cousins. We enjoyed meeting and getting to know all of them. Everyone was very welcoming and really friendly. We also did the tour with Mohammed and it was our favorite part of the whole experience. We had great conversations and saw some beautiful sites. It was an awesome experience and I would highly recommend staying with Mohammed and doing his tours.

  • I totally recommend this place!! Great location, very good aesthetics. You can relax a lot and find your inner peace there! Mohammed is a great guy, he is very kind and he helped us a lot. I also recommend his tours, we took a full day tour around the desert and it was an amazing g experience!! The breakfast was ok, but we had a great dinner! You will enjoy your time there for sure!

  • We stayed for one night in the desert and WAUW, what an unforgetable experience! Mohammed and his brothers are so nice and friendly. They will do everything to make you feel at home far away from home. ;-) We recommend to do a jeep tour through the desert followed by a delicious dinner and campfire/stargazing, best way to spend your day and night over there. Thank you so much Mohammed!

The place is small and cozy and it has everything it needs, we ordered typical Jordan food from Ahmad’d mum and it was amazing! Thanks again, would definitely come back. The sunset view was amazing as well.

The place was very clean and in a very quiet village 10 mins drive from Petra Visitor Centre. Quite isolated an it was cold at night in the house, but made for a unique and authentic experience!

My name is Shaker and I would be happy to welcome you to our camp. My family has been in Wadi Rum for many generations and I am born and raised in the surrounding desert. As a guest in our camp you will have the opportunity to learn from our vast knowledge of the land and you will be exposed to the Bedouin culture and our daily lives. Every night we prepare food traditional to the region and cook in an underground oven (Zarb), shared together with other guests in the traditional nomad style.
Our Camp is a reflection of traditional Bedouin camps within Wadi Rum, although many members of our family still live nomadic lifestyles herding livestock, our camp has a fixed location and various amenities that are not traditional to Bedouin camps including electricity, running water and private tent accommodation with beds raised off the floor. We feel that we have discovered the right balance of comfort and authenticity for our guests.
The camp is within the UNESCO dual listed Wadi Rum Protected Area for both its natural beauty and cultural significance. We are relatively isolated and there is no access to any shops or amenities outside the camp but we provide all meals and necessities to our guests. Enjoy the isolation and quiet of the desert during your stay with us!
  • Enjoyed our stay at Arabian Nights. We did a half day tour and got to see the sights of Wadi Rum. Also enjoyed the delicious meals there!

    Jennifer2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Nice people, great hospitality. We can recommend this place and accomodation.

    Christin2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • We expected this to be a magical experience and it was - relaxing in the desert sun and underneath the stars was an unmissable part of our trip! But also found the camp very comfortable and well kitted out, bathrooms were clean and well lit, bedrooms were comfy with plenty of extra blankets for the cold. Shaker was great about communicating with us in advance, and welcoming when we arrived. Definitely recommend the 4WD tour!

    Rosie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • From start to finish, our stay in the Wadi Rum at Arabian Nights was just perfect! I cannot fault it at all. The unrivalled Bedouin hospitality, the awesome views, the community feeling - shared dinners around the fire, games and laughs. The peace and quiet for miles around. Wonderful Momoo - thank you for treating us like family. We will most definitely be back! Shukran jazilan

  • We loved our stay here in the desert. Best camp in town! The food was great and the company even better. We were warm at night under all the stars, and had a great time exploring Wadi Rum.

    Mark2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t do this place justice. Expect traditional style living, which means Bedouin style cooking and living. For those looking for a little adventure with some peace and quiet...

    Dante2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Shaker and the Arabian Nights Team. Communication was very easy and transparent - all the time we felt that Shaker really wanted to help us leave with a great experience (e.g. when I asked him to arrange a taxi for us, he recommended taking a bus for half of the price). The camp itself is cosy, comfortable and clean, and everyone was really hospitable - in a nice, polite way - while at the same time leaving us space to chose when and how we want to socialize. We spent only one night there, but I can quite easily imagine we could spend more time at the camp.

  • Mohammed is a good host and everyone knows him at Wadi Rum. If you arrive by bus he will look for you at the bus stop and then offer you various rides and attractions to do during the day. He works with his family and is very reliable and safe to make the journey through the desert, one of the most hostile environments on the planet. You will spend the night in the tent camp, next to the moonlight and the wind that accompanies you in the silence of the desert. Unfortunately we were alone and the Bedouin dinner could not be done cooking under the sand.

    Catalina Y Alejandro2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Mohammed’s tent camp is clean, charming and has a beautiful location. The food buffet is basic but very enjoyable and is served in the common great tent. A not to be forgotten experience! Would recommend to everyone, very good price/value

  • Cool camp that feels a bit more out of the way since it's a smaller one off the main route and surrounded by cliffs. Seems like a good deal, and everything was quite chill, no pressure to book extra tours or anything. Cost 15 JD for transportation there and back.

    Chris2020-02-26T00:00:00Z

Stay at a Bedouin camp in the middle of the Wadi Rum desert. I offer camel tours, off-road jeep tours, horse riding, scrambling and climbing, camping tours as well as yoga in the desert and stargazing at night. And much more... ask me anything!
  • It was a magical experience. All Ahmad team was very friendly and helpful. Although we spent the night in the desert in late February, it was not cold to sleep in the tents because we had a lot of warm blankets. I must say that I fell in love with the local hospitality, dancing, food and sweet tea. I need to mention the sunset jeep tour. The colors of the desert, the wind and the setting sun had completely cleared my mind. And the most beautiful thing I have ever seen was the night sky. Thousands of stars and extraordinary silence. It was magical.

    Viktorija2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was an adventure I will never forget. I took both the 4x4 and the two hour camel ride. They were incredible. The food was great. And the staff are awesome. A huge Shukran, to all I encountered in Wadi Run.

    David2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A location perfectly located in the heart of the wadi Ram centers of interest. The accommodation is relatively clean, with hard showers and toilets. A very welcoming host. However, the two hour Jeep tour was quite short, we didn't feel like we were discovering enough of the Wadi Ram, so we should definitely take a longer tour.

    Pauline2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • My uncle and I had a private room together at this campsite. Communication and check-in was very easy, and we had a great time hanging out with other guests in the common area. The cool part about this area is that it feels like it's right in the middle of everything. I was able to get some awesome photographs just from wandering around and climbing up on some big rocks. Definitely recommend this place if you're visiting Jordan- it's a proper experience in the desert, but with a bed and a shower. :)

    Dan2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay - recommended :) The food, especially dinner, was very good and the atmosphere of the camp was very cosy. Thanks Ahmad and the Martian camp team

  • This was an extra special experience for us, heightened by the hospitality of all at the camp. Right from picking us up at the visitor's center, we knew we had great hosts. All the people at the camp took good care of us, providing us with an endless supply of Bedouin tea and some of the best food we had during our 10-day tour of Jordan. We loved the location of the camp - you cannot go wrong just walking around and climbing the hills in the immediate vicinity of the camp, for stunning views of the sunrise and sunsets. We spent all our evenings just exploring the 'neighborhood'. The tents were cozy and we had thick blankets that kept us warm during the chilly nights. The bathroom facilities were ultra-clean, and having a hot shower when the weather outside was chilly was a real treat! The large tent that's the 'living room' was wonderful to lounge in, and Ahmad kept all us guests entertained with stories and card games. No mobile reception or WiFi at the camp, which was a welcome break! We absolutely recommend Ahmad and Emad's camp and will definitely be returning (hopefully soon!).

  • A great apartment. Very spacious. Comfy sofa. Some great outdoor spaces. It was the perfect place to spend the last 3 days of our holiday in Jordan. Tala Bay resort is very nice but it was deserted. It was as if we had a private beach and our own massive (albeit very cold!) pool. The supermarket on site was well stocked and not too expensive. We loved the C4 shots bar and restaurant because we could play pool and they had a happy hour 🙂. Zina was a great host and very responsive. Would recommend.

  • Zinat and Sameer have a wonderful place in Tala Bay overlooking the biggest pool. We arrived in the evening, the keys were with the guard, the checkin was a breeze. The place has everything you need, internet, utensils, clean bedding and towels. We were 5 people, 4 people used the two bedrooms and the 5th one enjoyed the sofa bed in the living room. This was my third time staying in Tala Bay, but this was the best apartment I have stayed in. Will definitely be going back.

  • The apartments are located in a resort in a closed area. The resort is very quiet and cozy, there are no noisy companies and alcoholic parties, perfect for families with small children. A beach with a coral reef is just around the corner. The apartments are fully consistent with the description, very clean, there were no problems with checking in. There is free parking, close to shops with alcohol and groceries and restaurants. The hosts were always in touch and very promptly answered all questions. I recommend! • A place worth recommending, a spacious and comfortable apartment, swimming pools around, beach with sunbeds, shop nearby. I recommend for families with children.

    Marcin2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious and clean apartment with a great location right next to the biggest pool in the area. Even though we visited during high season we had the pool to ourselves almost all time during our stay. The beach is only 2 minutes away, but wear bathing shoes if you go swimming in The Red Sea as there are many sea urchins. The apartment has three terraces. We really enjoyed sitting outside on the terrace and read books in the evening. It would have been nice with more comfortable outdoor furniture for this purpose. The big rooftop terrace with a sea view didn’t have any outdoor furniture at all which is a pity given the great views from up there. Throughout our stay we communicated with Sameer. He was a very helpful host. We can only recommend to stay a his place.

    Zuzana2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • The flat is indeed clean, large, light and all round convenient for a stay in Aquaba. There is a parking right outside the front door. The only drawback I would point attention of future guests: all sounds from the street and from neighbors penetrate the walls as if they are paper walls. If you are sensitive to sounds at night, search elsewhere or bring earplugs. Also note: there is no hair dryer. And the host requires to do your dishes and take out the trash when you leave.

  • Saif is a lovely person and we loved our stay with him and his family. He was very clear about what extras he offered such as tours and dinner, and the costs for these. He had loads of tips and recommendations. The atmosphere at night was truly magical. Highly recommended!

  • Nice experience of sleeping in a cave, the sky at night is spectacular

    Lucas2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Saif’s cave is a very unique experience that is worth trying. The cave is nice and cozy with plenty of blankets and comfortable mats. I opted to pay for dinner one night and that tasted great. Parking is close to the cave and as expected there are no bathroom facilities, water, or food within walking distance. Overall it was a great experience!

  • This cave is absolutely amazing. You really get to know the bedouin lifestyle. Also our host had some friends over for dinner and we had an amazing time with them. Absolutely worth it if you want to get know how it is to live in a valley surrounded by pure nature!

*PRICES ARE INCLUDING DINNER & BREAKFASTS & TRANSFERRING BY JEEP IN WADI RUM* A unique opportunity for an unforgettable experience in a genuine Bedouin camp and to live the Bedouin life. Join us for a while and enjoy the Bedouin cooking, the beauty of the desert and the awesomeness of the night sky ! What's included on AIRBNB booking. The overnight stay, Traditional Bedouin dinner, Breakfast, Bedouin tea, Mineral water, Transferring by jeep to camp about 9 KM. And the same way to get back.
If the days that you wish to stay have already been booked by another party, please contact us directly. We will be happy to set up a separate tent for you. The Wadi Rum desert is a truly awe-inspiring destination. Uniquely shaped mountains rise vertically out of the pink desert sand, separating one dark mass from another in a magnificent desert landscape of strange breathtaking beauty ! The Bedouin people have lived in Wadi Rum and the surrounding area for centuries. The village of Rum has now grown as the only permanent settlement within the protected area, but there are still some Bedouin who still live far out in the desert. They move wherever the grass grows to provide food for their livestock. I am a Bedouin who grew up in the desert, but I now live in Wadi Rum in order for my children to go to school. My mother is also no longer nomadic and lives in her traditionnal Bedouin tent in the edges of the village. It is in walking distance from some of the most popular sites in Wadi Rum like the Nabatean temple, Lawrence Spring and the great Jabal Rum. We invite you to spend a night in my personal camp where my family used to live for 40 years. I spent all my childhood in this private desert area, I know every rocks and stories about this place. The respect of the traditional Bedouin way of life and the site's memory made me choose this place to establish my own camp. The camp is located in the middle of the Wadi rum protected area, where you can enjoy the sunset. The camp is 9 km from the village, from there you can admire breathtaking views of the desert with the changing colors of the mountains lighted by the late afternoon sun. When the night comes, you will see billions of stars shining over your head. We will make a fire, share food and stories. When it's time to sleep, you can choose a tent, or prefer a mattress under the milky way. This is a unique opportunity not only to sleep in the desert but also to learn about the traditions, culture and daily life of a Bedouin. Jeep tours, camel treks, hikes and rock climbing are also available at request.
  • Really enjoyed the time I spent in the camp of Eid and his family. Very polite, friendly, courteous hospitality. The food was excellent. Thank you again.

    Istvan2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described, and all of the other positive 5* reviews aren’t surprising. Great location, food, hospitality & host. We’d definitely go back, we had a fantastic time with Eid in beautiful Wadi Rum!

    Christopher2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Eid was a great host and show us a true experience of the Bedouin life. Its was great to have no reception, relax and take in the Wadi Rum desert. The food that was made was authentic and left us stuffed for the night. Would definitely recommend it!

    Lisa2019-12-11T00:00:00Z
  • The desert is magical. Its hard to explain the beauty of the place. Eid was an amazing host. He picked us up and arranged an one hour camel tour for us. The camp has all the amenities that you need in the desert. The dinner was a traditional and delicious bedouin meal. We experienced outstanding hospitality. Highly recommended!

    Nicole2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a fabulous time we had, a beautiful place and lovely host. It was a good combination of clean tents and bathrooms with running water, yet a taste of the Bedouin camping lifestyle. Communication and activities were well organized and arranged for us even though we were confused didn't know what we wanted and change our mind many times. We felt safe, well cared for and welcomed into the family fun and music around the evening fire. I highly recommend Eid and his Bedouin family camp a travel experience to remember .

    Neena2019-12-05T00:00:00Z
  • Authentic Bedouin Experience welcomes you with open arms and warm hospitality. If you want to sleep under a canopy of stars and wake to a breathtaking sunrise in a landscape created by the ages then you must visit Wadi Rum and be hosted by Eid. Evenings in the main tent drinking tea in front of the fire after dinner and talking with with Eid and friends is a truly a magical time to see how the Bedouins value conversation and friendship. We booked a day jeep trip to explore this magical land and were provided with a great guide - this is a must experience!! Eid's place, staff and friends made this part of my journey an unforgettable moment and one of the highlights of my life.

    Lynn2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Eid and his brother are very nice hosts. Me and my daughter were very lucky as we were only two of us at the camp, so we had a great Bedouin evening with dinner, beduin singing by Eid and his friends and of course nice chats about beduin life. The place is very simple so don't expect any perfect cleanliness or hygienic conditions. You will for sure not forget the stay thanks to the very authentic camp, the great position in the privat canyon and the warm welcoming from Eid and his friends. I highly recommend the 3 hours jeep tour to see the highlights before ending up at Eid's camp before sunset. The dinner was very good (we asked for a vegetarian dinner)

    Annika2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Unique experience, I really recomend this place. You have to try this once in a lifetime. Thank you Eid for the experience! The only thing that bother us was the fees we had to pay at the border which was my mistake as I haven’t done any research about it, I was looking at the reviews and description and I though it will be easy to get there. So I will give some details that might be helpfull for future guests who come from Israel (Eilat) . If you are travelling for one night only you have to pay visa of 60jd per person plus other fees of 10jd. If you stay more then one night is 40jd plus other fee of 10jd. You have to pay this fees when you get out of Jordan not when you get in and they do not explain. The border people are ok but not informative and do not give much details. Also there is a fee for getting into Wadi Rum Village 5 or 10jd per person. Plus we had to pay the fees at Israel border aprox £35 pounds per person. That was about an extra £130 pounds per person which we didn’t expect to spend but it was all worth it and we do not regret the experience at all. We were 2 ladies travelling from Eilat so we was a bit stresed on how to get there. The best options are taxis as public transport is rare: one very early in the morning and one in the afternoon. For taxi we paid 40jd from border to Wadi Rum Village and on the way back Eid helped us and we paid 30jd. I find if you want to visit Jordan the best and cheaper way is staying for at least couple of days and visit Petra as well otherwise one day only can be more expensive then what you will expect.

In the heart of the genuine bedouin village located on a hilltop in Petra, lies our charming B&B. Here you will experience real bedouin lifestyle and culture away from souvenir shops and expensive restaurants only 3 min. walk to the back entrance of Petra. We have a western style newly renovated bathroom and toilet and a huge outdoor terrace with a genuine bedouin tent for relaxation and dining. Here we also keep our eagle and falcons. A big thank you to Jake and Rose for making this video about our place: Since Airbnb don't allow sharing videos just search "A Bedouin & a Dane" on YouTube and you will find us :)
What makes our B&B so special is the location in the heart of a lively bedouin village populated by 3500 bedouins from the Albdoul tripe. 500 years ago they migrated from Yemen moving slowly up north until they found the lost city of Petra where they settled down. They shepherded their goats and made homes of the old Nabateans tombs and caves until the Jordanian authorities in 1985 builded this village for them located on a hill overlooking Petra. This village will give you a genuine experience and are very different from the nearby Wadi Musa where all the expensive restaurants and souvenirs shops are located. Our rooms have a heater for the cold season and very effective fans for the warm season. We also have an additional room with 2 single beds and 1 double madras on the floor. For booking please check out Bedouin and a Dane - a double bed and 2 single beds, or send us a message and we will help with booking.
I love my village because of the diversity. Camels are walking by my B&B in the early morning, later a flock of runaway donkey will play outside and occasionally a rented car with tourist will come around and stop to take pictures. Children are everywhere and will often greet you with a "Hello" or a high five. Sometimes they will try and practice their English with you. Bedouin music is heard everywhere as these people just love their music. Many women will still wake up early in the morning and bake the traditional "schrack" breads over an open fire and the air will be full of this fantastic smell of freshly baked bread while the younger members of the family will wear their school uniforms and start walking to the local school just around the corner.
  • Location of the appartment was clear and was easy to find. We were well received by Yaser’s sistre, Ruscha. This appartment is great if you want to stay outside of the touristic center of Petra, it is located in thé bédouin village, much more authentic. We booked a mule ride for Petra with Awad, Yaser’s brother. This was for our two kids. It was an amazing experience. Awad is an animal lover and is mules are very well treated, it shows. Also, we had a diner made by Ruscha which was very good and very appreciated after a long day of walking. More interesting than an overrated restaurant in the city center.

  • This place was really comfortable and felt like an authentic Jordanian home. We were greeted with hot Bedouin tea (which was amazing) and the host made sure we were comfortable and happy at all times. They were happy to give us advice on what to do. This place is also reallyyy close to Petra which was convenient.

  • How to describe this family: they are golden people with hearts on their hands. We recommand you to get all the attractions with them, they can propose you a lot of authentic tours. We did petra with one of the brother and wadi araba ( a desert near of petra ) with Yasser. It was the best experience ever. The sister will welcome you and prepare delicious dishes. The room is clean and huge. The village is near of wadi mussa, called the bedouin camp and it’s definitely the best place you can find for authenticity. As they said: «  easy to say hi, hard to say goodbye » :’) We love this family and we’ll come back for sure. Florian and Julie

  • Staying in Yasser and Tine's home was a truly genuine experience. Staying in the Bedouin village, knowing the life stories of this family and being able to chat with them has added great value to our experience. The house is spacious and welcoming, the room very large, while the bathroom is shared and simple but still functional. The hospitality of Yasser and his sister Rasha fantastic.

    Perla2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • A great place with warm and welcoming hosts. They arranged tours for us around Petra in the less tourist areas which made for a beautiful experience. Can't recommend this place enough. The village is just outside of Petra and you can walk in from a back road directly into Petra centre.

    Tom2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Warm, welcoming hospitality and went out of their way to ensure we had a positive experience in Petra, despite the cold, rainy weather challenges. From the hot tea when we arrived to the delicious dinner the night before we left, the warm bedouin robes they purchased to ward of the cold, and the family atmosphere of the home, it truly was an unforgettable, enjoyable stay. Would recommend bringing flip flops as the sink is outside.

Salaam Alaikum, Welcome to an authentic traditional house. I am from an Arabic Bedouin family. I was born and raised in a cave of Petra. I spent years in the surrounding red mountains with our stock. Recently me and my family were resettled to the village of Uum Sayhoun. Here, a bit away from the beaten tourist track, you can have the most unique experience of local culture, try real, homemade Bedouin food and see how our nomadic tribe used to live for centuries. Ahlan wa sahlan
This is an authentic traditional Bedouin house run by a humble family from the local community. Till recently we used to live in the caves of Palastum Mountains, but we were translocated to a small village of Uum Sayhoun where we, along with other Bedouins, set up our new home. Maybe you won't find here all of the modern amenities, but the spirit of century long customs will make up for it. Here, a bit away from the beaten tourist track, you can have the most unique experience of local culture, try real, homemade Bedouin food and see how our nomadic tribe used to live for hundreds of years. There is no light pollution in Uum Sayhoun so you can enjoy starry nights with bonfire and deliciously seasoned Bedouin grilled meat. Feel free to join us in the tent for our sweet mint, sage, cardamom or cinnamon tea, around fragrant shisha pipe, and desert stories. If you are a daredevil and want to see how real Bedouins lived few decades ago, I can take you to our old cave where we can spend a night. Please let me know in advance though. Anyway, Bedouins are famous for their hospitality, so come as a guest and leave us a friend. Ahlan wa sahlan! Ila Liqaa, my friend. Extra: We can cook for you, or you can use our kitchen and cook for yourself, if you prefer it that way. You can eat in the house, we can prepare a lunch box for your daytrip to Petra / surrounding mountains, or we can dine under the stars, the local style with blankets beneath you, stars above your head and bonfire with grilling food just in front. Breakfast 3JD Lunch 5JD (boxed or in the house) Dinner 10JD (in the house) / 25JD (out in the mountains) Beside the private rooms we also have a tent were you an stay on the mattresses and cushions like a real Bedouin. The price is 7JD (equals around $10) My family have goats and lives the old way, but I am a tour guide in Petra. It is my official job to help our humble household with some actual income. I grew up in these mountains so I know every nook and cranny, every canyon, pass, cave and trail. If you want I can take you on a trip away from the crowds. The official back entrance is actually 5min away from my house, walking. The main tourist visitor center is close from here, too, it sits at 2,5km. Siq Al-Barid, Petra's smaller version is nearby, too. It is free of charge. Beside I could take you to the less known places that most of the tourist don't ever get to see. For more details, feel free to contact me. If I write about it here, crowds may come and the places will lose their beautiful, tranquil appeal.
A humble Bedouin neighborhood in a small village. Many small houses, huts and enclosures for animals can be seen around. No big or tall buildings. Horses, camels and donkeys can be seen around. They are still the main mean of transportation for the majority of Bedouins here. There area is very peaceful and quiet, especially at night. There are some small local shops and restaurants to be found in the village center. Nothing fancy, they serve simple authentic food, but delicious and in a very low price in comparison to Wadi Musa. Many people speak basic English so you don't have to worry about the communication.
  • Khaled's house is a very welcoming bedouin house. Khaled is an interesting and very funny guy. We had the entire day tour with him in Petra-which was amazing! And what can I say about the dinner under the stars? It's an amazing experience with candles and good food and a lot of stories with Khaled and his friend Ahmed in a stunning place in the desert, under the stars! Highly recommend!

    Adriana2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • If you are looking for a friendly and down-to-earth place for your stay to explore Petra, Khaled's home is perfect. Located some kilometres away from the tourist hub of Wadi Musa, staying in Umm Sayoum village offers an interesting insight into Bedouin life in and around Petra. Khaled shared a lot of stories and information about local culture and visiting Petra. He offers good food for a fair price. We travelled to Petra with our daughter of 2.5 years for whom the laid back space was great, she made friends with Khaled's family members and loved all the animals around - dogs, cats, goats, donkeys, camels... We truly enjoyed the stay and would have loved to have more time.

    Patrizia2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to the monuments at Petra, Khaled is an excellent host and will give you lots of local tips!

    Sarah2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything here is amazing. Khaled is such a happy and amazing guy. He knows everything you want to know. He is super relaxed. His cousin makes the most amazing and generous breakfast for you in the morning (or whenever you would like). We had the best experience ever here. We would go back to Jordan just to see Khaled again if we could! Do take a tour with him to Petra, it was one of the most amazing thing we had ever seen. The bedouine route itself is even more beautiful than the touristic Treasury etc.

  • Great place in the town right outside Petra. You can literally see the town from the middle of Petra. It's about a 40 minute walk from the back entrance. My room was comfortable and private. Khaled was really cool and inviting during my stay. I appreciated everything he did for me.

    Daniel2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Unfortunately, Khaled was not home during my stay, but his brother did all the best to make me feel welcome. I highly recommend this place, it's very clean, the food is tasty and you will find everything you need. Really loved the gatherings at the house and if I come back to Jordan, I will definitely come back to this place! Thanks a lot!

Musab, you can ask and ask for anything, to help with tours and transport./ We stayed for two days, everything was fine. There is everything you need, even an iron. • Musab is an easy-going person, very welcoming and trustworthy. He was constantly in touch with us until the moment we reach his home. the house is located close to Petra Visitor centre. Perfect location for a night.

  • Comfortable and well located flat, easy to walk down to the Petra entrance and into the town centre for the restaurants. Musas was very thoughtful about providing eg a heater for the main bedroom as the AC was not working.

Martian Camp 2 is located in the heart of Jordan’s well-known Wadi Rum desert. Surrounded by sandstone mountains, dunes and camels, we invite you to join us for an evening under the stars, Bedouin-style. Your experience starts at check-in, with a drive through the desert to the camp and a cup of tea upon arrival.
Our camp also offers plenty of relaxing spaces such as hammocks, and a traditional lounge area in our main tent. Every night we meet in the main tent for a Bedouin dinner, where guests are able to connect, play games and learn more about life in the desert.
  • Staying at Ahmad's place in Wadi Rum was one of the most memorable experiences of my trip to Jordan. The camp is excellent with very interesting travellers and Ahmad is a highly attentive and great host. I cannot commend the cook enough - dinner was some of the best that I had in Jordan. Looking forward to returning in the future.

    Usman2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Truly remarkable time spent here, Ahmad really knows hospitality. Do as much or as little as you want. Location and setup of camp is perfect with amazing night sky to top it off. Prestine washrooms, the comfort of the main tent, crackling camp fire and a world class chef all factors that made my stay unforgettable. I hope to return in the near future...

  • Wild but comfortable experience in the desert. Recommend.

    Matteo2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place is AWESOME. Even though it was about 38 degrees the night we were there, the tents were clean, cozy, and the blankets were super warm. The host picked us right up from the Wadi Rum Visitor Center and was very easy to communicate with. The dinner served was super good, very tasty and healthy filling meal. The bathrooms were excellent, and the community tent is big enough to gather everybody. There are various games you could pick up and play which was great. The actual location is really cool I thoroughly enjoyed hiking and climbing the different mountains around us. I HIGHLY recommend staying here

    Michael2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • nice and nice, the staff too. The buffets very good. The camp very relaxing. The tour lasted longer than expected for less than expected. They are truly exceptional and natural people. Thank you again Ahmed for this wonderful dinner special Bedouins I can only recommend unlimited

    Jihane2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Traveling to Wadi Rum is not straightforward because one can not drive directly to their camp. Communication and coordination are key and Ahmad was on top of it! He was waiting for us at the visitor's center when we arrived, and he drove us to the camp. His camp is very comfortable and has amazing views of Wadi Rum. We hiked a nearby cliff to watch the sunset. The camp has a great atmosphere; at night the guests gathered around a fire creating a relaxed, community feel. We had a delicious, traditional-style dinner before some tremendous stargazing. For activities, we selected a truck tour, which Ahmad guided. Wadi Rum is truly spectacular and definitely worth a visit, and Ahmad's camp is a great place to stay!

    Liana2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Super camp in the desert! Very quiet for total relaxation. The excursions can be booked optionally but nobody is pushy. There are camp beds and warm blankets and shared shower rooms with warm water. The breakfast is simple, for the price but totally ok. The dinner (in addition bookable) was very delicious

    Claudia2019-11-06T00:00:00Z
  • Communication through the AirBnB app was great. Ahmad answered all our questions quickly, and his brother was waiting for us at the visitor's center when we arrived after dark. Dinner was served at 7:30pm and was delicious and plentiful. The night we were there the menu was chicken with rice, pita, and several types of mixed salads. Dinner was 10JD Our breakfast included two types of fresh hummus (both perfection), pita, hard boiled eggs, and a selection of dipping oil, spreadable jams and cheese. Breakfast began at 7:00am and was included in the stay price. We enjoyed the sunrise camel ride for 15JD. All tour prices can be found in the listing, no haggling required and very fair prices. Our tent had an electric light at night while the camp generator was running. Solar lights illuminate the path to the bathroom block. The bathrooms were top notch for a desert location, the common tent was spacious and clean, and sipping tea around the fire at night was magical. Highly recommend a stay at Ahmad's!

  • Do it, go to Martian Camp. Ahmad and the guys are all kind, hospitable and funny! The food is delicious and the showers are surprisingly nice. Oh yeah, and there's endless Bedouin tea, an unmatched setting, and an amazing view of the night sky. Lose yourself in the desert. It's been two days and I already miss it...

    Sarah2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Nice camp, very clean, you have all you need. Everyone in the camp is very helpful. You can choose some attractions for e.g. jeep tour or camel ride. We took Jeep tour, it was a little bit boring and in my opinion too expensive, but whole camp experience was very good!

Wadi Rum Village, Aqaba Governorate, Jordan

In the heart of the genuine bedouin village located on a hilltop in Petra, lies our charming B&B. Here you will experience real bedouin lifestyle and culture away from souvenir shops and expensive restaurants only 3 min. walk to the entrance of Petra. We have a huge outdoor area with a terrace and a bedouin tent for relaxation and dining. We also have our eagle and falcons here.
We also have an additional room with a double bed and 1 single bed. For booking please check out Bedouin & a Dane or send us a message and we will help with the booking.
  • Lovely local spot! Close to Petra, excellent hosts.

    Jacynda2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to experience an authentic place, this is the place to go. The room and the bathroom it is as shown in the photos. They will welcome you, give you tips for Petra and be your guides if you want to pay for it what I would recommend. Tine is a good guide, but a better person. He will show you Petra in a different way with no tourists.

    Fernando2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay if you want an authentic view into actual, modern bedouin life. A lot of animal noises from the streets, but for me it was part of the charm.

    Nicklas2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • The air bnb was a short taxi ride from the visitor center of Petra- unless you want to walk in the back way which is right down the road. Yaser and his brother sat with us and were more than happy to share stories of his life and local Bedouin life. The tent in the backyard was an incredible spot to sit after a long day of walking- there was always a fire going and of course lots of tea! Yaser was also super helpful in giving us good routes to go in Petra and was willing to help out wherever. He was even kind enough to drive me to little Petra so I could see it. I highly recommend this spot for anyone interested in seeing a different side of Petra!

    Kelsey2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful three night stay at Tine and Yaser’s place. We were welcomed by Yaser’s sister who greeted us with a pot of hot Bedouin tea and date cookies. She was very friendly and gave us good tips and recommendations for exploring Petra. We met Tine and Yaser the next day, and they were very welcoming and shared additional recommendations for Petra. The room we stayed in was huge! We definitely appreciated the extra space, and the comfortable blankets to keep us warm at night. The shared bathroom was a concern when we first got there, but we never had any issues with overlapping times with other guests and people in the house. Tine showed us where they’re building a new bathroom, so it’ll be even more convenient in the future. The shower in the bathroom was fantastic! Hot water and great water pressure - a welcome feature after long days of hiking in Petra. Also on offer every evening was a fresh pot of Bedouin tea. Though the house is on the main road, the nights were calm and quiet and we slept really well. We loved the location and the community atmosphere, something unique and special, that we valued much more than staying in a dense, touristy neighborhood. Everyone knows Tine and Yaser, and are extremely friendly. We picked up amazing falafel sandwiches and snacks from the local restaurant before each day of hiking - another top tip from Yaser’s sister. We are grateful for Tine, Yaser and Yaser’s sister for welcoming us into their home and making our stay very comfortable. We hope to be back sometime in the future. Oh - and don’t miss the homemade soaps that are available for purchase, all made by Tine!

    Edward2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay and would definitely stay there again. We got some great local tips and hospitality was great! We loved the tea and cookies.

  • The bedouin village is very cool, authentic and friendly people. The house is charming, we stayed just for the night but I would like to have stayed a bit longer. Perfect to start your trip for Petra. The people in the houde can help you with a guide ant tips. You can also buy handmade scarfs and soap. Excellent stay!

Staying at my beautiful cave inside the ancient city of Petra means a unique experience. Living like a bedouin, star gazing, meeting local people and eating delicious food. dinner 15jd and breakfast 5 jd
The cave, that means two cozy and warm rooms close to nature and mountains. Everything just behind the main sights of Petra! Amazing sky during the night, easy sightseeing and hiking during the day. I can guide you through Petra and organize horse, mule or camel tours, if you are interested. Not much more is needed for a unique experience inside Petra. Of course we provide you with a traditional bedouin dinner and breakfast (not included in the price). Part of the experience means there are no bathrooms or showers available, as caves were not built for this. During the daytime you may use the public restrooms of Petra.
  • We had a great time with Feras and his friends. He is a really good host, very flexible, helpful, kind and funny. The location of the cave is unique and we would love to come back one day. We also can recommend dinner and breakfast there - very delicious. Feras, thank you for your hospitality. Take care and all the best!

    Viviane2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Truly an experience like no other. Feras is more than a host, he values his guests like family and he provides you with a memorable Bedouin stay that nothing else can compare to. Cannot wait to visit again. :)

    Karina2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Without Feras, his brothers and uncles, without his atmosphere, it is impossible to feel Jordan, which is actually very boring (I was in more than 40 countries and I know what I'm saying). Feras is a brilliant businessman who will tell you about camels, about himself, about how to get to Petra cheaper, about how to see Petra without tourists. He is also present at the Vinsky forum. The atmosphere is amazing! I think there are questions about dinner? I will answer - the price outside is almost the same !! But Feras always has excellent hookah and tea in unlimited quantities

    Артур2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place in the heart of Petra! If you want to experience the Bedouin's lifestyle this is your perfect choice. Excellent communication, magical feeling and true hospitality! :)

    Gatsby2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time with Feras and his brothers and cousins in the cave! I highly recommend eating both dinner and breakfast there. Staying in the cave gives so much better understanding of Petra as a whole! It is also convenient to start your day already in the heart of Petra to start the next day early and start exploring only new places! Feras also is very flexible in planning and very easily reachable on WhatsApp.

    Alexander2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • I’d say Petra is amazing, but if u stay with Bedouins it will make it stunning. Feras and his friends are so hospitable, on the way to his cave, he showed me more things around his village, which u will not see if u just visit Petra from the tourists’ aspect! It’s definitely a nice experience to be a Bedouin during your stay in Petra!

    Yu-Hsuan2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What an experience! I can’t recommend Feras and his cave enough. My husband and I stayed for one night and it was everything we imagined. The views are out of this world and Feras makes you feel so welcome and at home in his cave! The food is amazing too - I’d definitely recommend adding dinner and breakfast to your stay...you won’t regret it! An amazing stay!

Experience local Bedouin culture by staying in a handmade cave in the Petra desert. Feel at home in a cozy, candlelit red cave, where you will sleep comfortably on mattresses laid out on the floor, surrounded by nature and by the sounds that have comforted generations of Bedouins in Petra.
This cave is unlike anywhere else you will stay in Petra. Nowhere else will you have the chance to meet local Bedouins who have spent their entire lives in Petra, sleep in a luxurious modern version of the caves we and our grandfathers grew up in, and even get the chance to try some local cooking! Our motto here is "Feel home," and we are sure you will.
Little Petra is outside the busy commercial tourist centre of Wadi Musa, giving you a chance to relax and experience a bit of nature. You have the chance to visit the small siq and painted triclinium that few tourists get the opportunity to see. And you will get a sense of what it's really like to live here in Petra where traditional Bedouin culture and the comforts of modern life are constantly meeting and meshing.
  • Fantastic stay at Attallah an exceptional host. Anyone who knows the rules of hospitality in the Middle East will understand that Attallah does honor to its culture. After reading the comments I booked two nights at Attallah and c is I think the minimum for a nice exchange.Attallah is The person to know in Petra and it is Park tidy on the historic site .... lots of good advice so .... and a trusted person with whom we can stay without fear a very old family of the site .... On the location ... Little Petra is exactly what I was looking for, typical and friendly micro bedoin village ideally located opposite the site and next to Petea .... On easy communication perfect reactivity ... On the welcome ... fantastic ... little tea and lovely smile Attalla helps me because little car worries and welcomes me into his house or a bedoin meal is waiting for me ... prepared by a lady of the village .... delicious and delicious typical ... a good plan ... price largely justified by the preparation time and impeccable hygiene quality ... On general hygiene .... the house is very clean the bathroom has impeccable hygiene according to European standards .... On the accommodation Attallah lets you choose you sleep in the house or the stone cave bedoin atmosphere .... I opted for the bedoin atmosphere and I love ... lots of blankets and beautiful decoration ... On the super friendly atmosphere ... the second evening other French women arrived ... exchanges around the fire .... discussion exchange sharing .... fantastic sharing .... a real emotion .... in short we are received as friends by Attalla in a typical micro village ... goats on the road bedoin tents where nomads really live difficult to dream better .... I think I will return to Jordan and I will return to Attalla ... I recommend it without hesitation for the atmosphere the location and the personality of Attallah A very big thank you my friend who made my stay in Petra an exceptional moment

  • Attallah was an incredible host. Everything was perfect, he’s a really nice guy, so thoughtful and reactive. We had a warm welcome and the diner was very good, the room is very cozy (he made by himself =). Our stay in their place left us a memorable memories of our trip in Petra. Thanks a lot Attalah, hope to see again in your place our in your cave’s family =) Take care !

  • cozy and cleaned house. I felt home truly. The cave is such a romantic place but if you want to sleep in the modern place, you can sleep in the modern room in modern house. Convenience bathroom with warm shower. Attallah is so kind and gentle. I chatted with him having Bedouin dinner. I could hear Bedouin stories from him. I appreciate for Attallah's kind consideration. He met a lady who was struggling with allergic with dusts in Petra and he invited her and her boyfriend to his house and treated herbal tea as a alternative medicine. We had dinner all together and chatted for a while. I was impressed by his kindness. If you stay this place not only sleep and rest, you could see, hear and feel many things of Petra and Bedouin life. Attallah is so smart and he has wide knowledge of nature and Petra. Highly recommend.

  • Attallah is a great host with a great place. He is very helpful when it comes to experiencing Jordan and enjoys spending time with his guests, not overstepping the guest's privacy. As soon as you walk in Atallah's place you are greeted by a warm welcome and you immediatly feel at home. His place is clean, cozy and full of life. I highly recommend staying with Attallah when visiting Petra, to anyone from groups of friends to solitary travellers. 👍👍

My 3 story private home has 5 rooms for guests: 1 at ground level, 3 at the 2nd floor, 1 up at the roof with direct access to a large rooftop terrace with a brick-oven for barbecue. Downstairs, you will find a large ceramic kitchen & dining hall for all food lovers to enjoy. Other public areas are my living room, a lounge, the garden & the balconies. The house overlooks Petra from the Bedouin village, Umm Sayhoun. Sunrise & sunset! As a local, I am happy to help you have a great experience.
The house is my private home and I am living downstairs. As a tour organizer, guests may also enjoy access to a majority of the house during my absence. In this case, one of my family members will be there to make sure you have everything you need. On the second floor, there is a private entrance ensuring greater privacy. As I am only living at the ground level, the upper floors are dedicated to guests. The living room, dinning room, the terraces, garden and roof are common areas. WIFI is free and available everywhere. The house has modern Western facilities with our traditional Bedouin style, giving you high comfort and an authentic local experience at once. In addition to that, there are various opportunities to enjoy one of the best views directly into Petra.
The Bedouin Village (Umm Sayhoun) is a lively place of local Bedouin families. Each family is part of a tribe and each tribe has an area that they occupy in the village. There are 6 small tribes in the Bedouin Village. Most Bedouin in the village work inside Petra with shops, camels, and donkeys. Our life is all about hospitality. As we once lived inside Petra and some of us still do, we know the entire surrounding area by heart. The village itself offers a small cafeteria, local supermarkets and other things needed for our daily life. You are thus in a very local environment and not as touristic as Wadi Musa.
  • A big thank you to my host for his welcome. The accommodation was in the Village, 5 minutes by car from Wadi Musa. For me this is what I was looking for and the meal is prepared by the host on request, because there is little or no restaurant in the village. Life more authentic than in the city but in fact more lonely too. Magnificent view of Petra. The weather was "cool" and I was alone in the accommodation, it was cool but heating or reverse air conditioning is possible. The host is of excellent advice according to your requests. I was accompanied by a guide and I went through sleepers to avoid the flow of tourists, it was perfect

  • Atallah and his family are very accommodating and helpful. The location is close to the back entrance of Petra and great for those who have more than a 1 Day pass (for the first day in Petra, you must go in via the main entrance). Be sure to eat dinner at Atallah's home, as it is very delicious and a good time to be had. Communications were very responsive and helpful. The space is accurate and in a good location. Would certainly stay here again if visiting Petra for more than a day.

    Troy2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Atallah's place. The balcony of the room has a very good view of the ancient site of Petra. Also, it is in the Bedouin village, which is far less touristic than the environment near the main entrance of the site. Atallah and his family are helpful and friendly.

    C2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful villa in a small and hospitable village, 4 km from Wadi Musa, with a terrace that alone is worth the stay. Atallah's family was very welcoming and kind to us; the dinner prepared by Shuruk and Maram was really delicious! The room was clean and spacious, as was the bathroom. It was the best stay of our 10 days in Jordan ... Highly recommended!

    Chiara2019-11-07T00:00:00Z
  • The house is located in the village Bedouins just above Petra, with breathtaking views of the site. In the house you will immediately feel the Bedouin hospitality. Very good stay and very nice meetings I strongly advise.

  • Great location near the back entrance to Petra. 10 min drive from the main entrance and away from the tourist trap areas.

  • Abed was our host. Very hospitable and we really liked the guided tour he took us on. The room was spacious and the balcony was a special treat, has a great panoramic view. The only improvement I can think of (at the risk of being overcritical) is better floor cleaning, it's probably a result of being in the desert. Overall, great place to stay!

  • Atallah has a beautiful home. The room is very big with a nice and clean bathroom. We enjoyed the big terrace with a view over Petra. Don’t miss the delicious dinner he’s offering. The main entrance to Petra in Wadi Musa can be reached by car in a few minutes and the back entrance is in walking distance. A great place to stay when you want to relax after a busy day in Petra.

  • We had a great stay - the room was clean and spacious and we really enjoyed the food and the hospitality. The location isn't where it is shown on the map, in reality the house is about 15 minutes drive to Petra Visitor Center which we found misleading. It wasn't a big problem for us as we had a hire car and could drive, but if you are relying on buses etc this should be taken into account. Thank you for the lovely stay :)

  • The stay in Valeria's house was really nice, friendly and warm (personally but also the temperature in the rooms)! :) The breakfast was perfect – a huge range and really yummy. We would always come back!

  • Valeria and Mahamoud are two generous and very kind hospitable people. They have been able to make our stay pleasant. Mhamoud entertained our baby making him feel at home. The other guys are also very nice..Great food.

  • We loved our stay here, Valeria & Mahmoud are fabulous hosts - friendly, fun and very welcoming. The room was large, and kept cosy and warm thanks to the heater. Breakfast was delicious & I highly recommend having dinner here too. We stayed 2 nights but I wish we'd had more time here! Thank you for a lovely stay!

  • Had a wonderful stay at Valeria's place. We were sleeping in the studio 50m from the host, it felt like we were at home. Obama (her husband) took me to the barbershop with him, and helped us booking a cheaper price in Wadi Rum the next day via his contacts. Very friendly and helpful host, can only recommend them!

  • Wonderful place. Delicious breakfast. Most importantly - such warm, caring, humorous, and genuine hosts.

  • The rooms were clean and thoughtfully put together with everything we needed. Valeria and her husband were very friendly and the meals were hearty and delicious! We really enjoyed seeing what it’s like to live in a neighborhood near Petra (it’s about a 15 min drive from the entrance gate). We would definitely stay again.

  • A beautiful guesthouse with simple but stylish rooms, a smoking tent outside and goats in the yard. A great retreat, far from the tourist crush of Petra. Valeria gave us great advice about visiting the site and where to eat in town. Her husband, Mahmoud, is pretty funny.

    Simone2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Very good place to stay at Petra. We felt welcome and had a fun time. Breakfast was traditional, with everything that you need and very delicious - even like the traditional bedouin dinner. 🤤 soo yummy! Rooms are comfy and clean.

  • Only 10 minutes drive from the Visitor Center. Quiet environment. Generous and tasty breakfast. Hospitality: you will feel at home and can have good advice on local addresses of restaurants.

    Natalia2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Valeria and her husband know how to receive. From the first minute you are comfortable and very welcome .. Good mood and joie de vivre are in my eyes what defines this house. Do not hesitate to seek advice from Marmoud about the area, former guide they know perfectly meet the demand of its customers .. do not hesitate to ask lunch box for shipments to Petra they are just perfect! Also book dinner, a real local treat awaits you after a good day in Petra. The breakfast is also local, tasty and complete..A 10 min. by car from the visitor center it is good to rest not far from the bustle of Petra. Again thank you to them for the good mood (and this at any time) that reigns in this house.

  • You can do no wrong if you chose Valeria and Mahmoud's place for your stay in Petra! Room are comfortable and very clean. Good breakfast and amazing compagny! I higly suggest you reserve for diner... It will be cheaper than downtown, and so much better! Valeria's cooking is amazing, you won't regret it! And Mahmoud will intertain you, no worries! ;) The lunch basket is also a pretty good option you should go for.

  • Valeria and Mahmoud have been amazing hosts. Very much welcoming, attentive and available for anything we needed. We had to change plans with a day notice and they managed to accommodate all our needs. I recommend the place for its cleanliness, coziness, while being 5 mins away from Petra. A stay that you surely won’t regret!

    Simone2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with the two and felt comfortable around! We would always book this accommodation again! The location is a bit out of the way but we really enjoyed the peace after the days in Petra.

    Janina2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Valeria is incredible. She was very accommodating and very quick to respond with any questions. She is also flexible with check-in and check-out time, which was extremely helpful. The place was very clean and had all of the necessities for a few night stay.

Taxis are cheap from our location in 6th area. You can expect to pay 1 JD to reach the city center by taxi and around 10-15 minutes if you choose to walk. Next door to the apartment (less than a 3 minute walk) there is one of the largest grocery stores in Aqaba.
  • Very nice appartement some 2km from aqaba beach. Jehad is very friendly and willingly to help with anything you need! In the appartement there's a list of things Jehad can arrange for you, like snorkeling, sunset diner, diving, etc.. The appartement is shared with another room of (max 2) guests. Really liked this stay, perfect place to unwind from our roadtrip.

  • The apartment was really cool, with a beatiful balcony outside. BUT the most amazing was the hospitality and friendliness of Jehad. He became a good friend, he showed us his city and without him Aqaba would be totally different. Suggested 100%!

There is a big Terrace with a beautiful view of the Sea, Aqaba castle, the flagpole and the mountains at the same time. Actually, most of the time you will not need to ride a taxi because you will able to reach most places by foot!

It is very close to the markets, public beaches and various local restaurants. • Apartment is ok, location is 15 minutes from the airport which is convenient. Like Abed said, a private balcony would be advantageous, but the terrace is still a great touch. Would recommend as a launching or landing pad for exploring more of Jordan.

    Zoey Lara2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect clean place, with everything I needed. Thanks Abed!

    Mirjam Elisabeth2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Good cosy studio apartment close to everything you need in Aqaba. With a nice shared balcony with views onto the mountains and the city. Abed was always on hand to help. Would recommend to other travelers on a budget.

    David2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, super helpful and gives local tips for food or sightseeing. Well located as well.

    Camille2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Abed was such a lovely host! Not only did he rush to meet me when he found out I was there early but he also sent the cleaner to find me so he could let me into the apartment and sit on the lovely balcony while I waited for Abed. When Abed showed up he came with a snickers bar for me! I don’t think he realized how much that meant to me since I had just travelled a long time on a bus and was tired and hungry. We chatted for a while and he told me about an experience he offered showing the sites of Aqaba along with a food tour. I am so glad I agreed to go on this tour. It was a one of a kind experience to get to see Aqaba from a local’s perspective. Truly amazing! And the food and tea was incredible! Abed’s English is very good and I enjoyed our deep and intelligent conversations. He taught me so much about his culture. The room was super comfortable and I slept that night like a baby! He had made sure to install a sound dampening window and curtains to keep out the light! The balcony is a perfect place to sip your coffee and eat some local goodies from the bakery next door while you listen to the serene call to prayer from the mosque across the way while looking at the ocean view! Very relaxing indeed! I think this place is such a good value for your money! I would recommend this place to anyone and look forward to staying there again sometime! Hopefully to learn how to dive!

  • Aqaba I’ve been using Airbnb since 10/2018, I’ve traveled in Eastern Europe and N. Africa. I try to stay around a $25/night budget in an “entire apartment”. A few times friends have come to visit so I rented 2 and 3 bedrooms too. I stayed in this apartment for 7 nights. Pros: Location: On the south side of the old town, it’s a 15 minute walk to the Jett bus terminal. Super close to sea of Aqaba, I didn’t go to the beach but it looks like a 5 minute walk, and very easy to find. Green groceries, bakeries, cafes, restaurants, convenience and other stores are all around 2-3 blocks away. A couple of good restaurants are just outside the door. Quiet and safe neighborhood, including after nightfall. The Aqaba castle is so close, it’s the landmark to give to taxi drivers as the apartment doesn’t seem to have a physical address! Apartment: Apartment is up two flights of stairs, there are two apts that share this floor with a patio and an outdoor “kitchen” (sink, two electric cooktop) and clothes washer in common. Small studio with a bed, mini fridge, small microwave, tv and a bathroom No closet but there is a clothes rod and hangers Outdoor kitchen cooktop sink and counter. Some utensils, mix of dishes and glasses and clothes washer, large pans, several pots. Mostly clean apartment, just the corners are a little neglected, tile throughout. They do supply small amount of all consumables (dishes and washer soap) Air conditioner/heater works well on heat mode, I visited in mid Jan. WiFi works well I came late on check in day, the host had someone meet me. Small washer works well Cons: It’s a bit of a flop house, very suitable for backpackers and those on a budget, but it is fairly clean and safe They seem to have almost daily turnover in the other apartment which has 4 single beds. They clean the apartment daily so there are always sheets and towels drying on the racks-which is a good sign, but you gotta wait your turn to use the machine. A mosque minaret has it’s loudspeakers directly across from the apartments (you can see it in the photos), that 5:00 AM call to prayer is not something you will sleep through. As the (very friendly and personable) host says, it’s a small town with mosques every where, so you’ll anywhere you stay you’ll hear that 5:00 AM call, but, I’ll add that this is louder than most. There doesn’t seen to be a real street address, for maps or taxi purposes it’s easy to use the Aqaba Castle as a reference, it’s very close. It’s also close to the Ajib bank. Conclusion: I recommend this apartment, its a good value and a great location.

  • The appartment was just perfect for spending 2 days in Aqaba. Abed is very nice and he deserves definivelly his superhost status! We spent an amazing time with his brother snorkeling and having a barbecue on the beach!

    Margot2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Abed was truly perfect! He warmly welcomed us, giving us a lot of advice on what to do and where to go. It also allowed us to check in early, saving us a half day that would otherwise have been lost, having our bags and waiting. Even after checking out he found us a safe place for backpacks. The room and balcony are really nice, one step away from the sea in front of the castle. Really highly recommended, everything perfect!

  • We had a great stay in Aqaba with Jehad. He was a very communicative host and made sure to help us out with any questions or problems we had. We were able to check in at a strange time, due to coming back early from Wadi Rum, and we were made to feel completely welcome. The house has everything you could need, simple kitchen, lounge, and bathroom, even food in the fridge for us! But the real treat... Local food tips! Highly recommend one of Jehad's places, you will surely have a great time.

  • Jehad was great, far better than I expected. They gave us everything we need, helped us in whatever we needed, important advices and the important for me is their friendly behaviour. Taxi fares are very cheap compared to other cities in the world with 2-3$ you can get almost to every restaurant or location inside Aqaba city. My parents are living downstairs in the ground floor, they are available most of the time to assist you with anything!
  • Sultans place is conveniently located a short drive from the beach and nearby amenities. The apartment is spacious, well kept and secure. Sultan is quick to respond to messages and his parents, who live in the same building, made us feel very welcome during our stay. I would stay at Sultans place again if I return to Aqaba.

  • The property is spacious and clean. Sultan’s family is simply amazing. Your mom, sisters and brother welcomed my husband and I with open arms. Gave fabulous tips for eating around town. Thank you so much for the amazing hospitality and delicious treats. You made us feel at home. If I ever come back to Aqaba, would definitely stay here.

  • This home is for sure one of the best you can ever find wherever. If you are planning to spend some time in Aqaba, this is the best home you can find. Sultan and his brother Mohammed have the best properties, located at the best part of the city. We were just around the city center and after spending some time in the desert coming to this apartment was amaaaaaaaazing. It is so beautiful and so cozy, much better than the pictures, to be honest. Believe me, at the moment you enter this home, your reaction is just "WOOOOOW". You can easily feel like princess or prince in such a place. The home was so sparkling clean, luxurious, spacious and we had everything we needed and even more. There was complementary coffee and dates that were waiting for us and everything was beyond perfect. As for Sultan and Mohammed's hospitality, I would honestly say that you may nowhere find such kind and amazing people. They accepted us as part of their family, thretead us as best friends and we spent the very best of the best time ever. We found this apartment randomly but we thank God of the luck we have. With a hand on my heart, I would swear that they are the best hosts we have ever had the chance to meet! Thank you so much for everything, guys, you are amazing! PS: If you need any transport during your stay in Jordan (not only in Aqaba but in every city there) or you need help organizing your trip, contact Sultan and Mohammed on DM because they can help you with the best organization of your trip- 100% secured, comfortable and on the very best prices. It's worth it !!

  • Super nice host, very reactive. It’s been more than nice to find coffee and dates, water in a fridge upon arrival. The apartment is specious and kitchen equipped very well. It’s easy to make a cup of coffee in a morning or quick meal. Good WiFi. Short way to downtown, 5 min walk to a small market. Easy to catch a taxi on a street. Thank you for the stay!

  • Very nice place with perfect support.

    Norbert2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Jehad was definetely the best host I ever had so far. After I booked I got all coordinates in a long message explaining everything. He was caring, friendly, responsible and gave us a lot of advices. His place was a bit far from beach, but he didnt hesitate to drive us. Also he drove us to the 'south beach' which is far from Aqaba,we went scuba diving(nice corals reefs) ! My flight back was from Eilat, so Jehad helped my to book a taxi to the Eilat border and I payed just 5JD instead of 12JD. Jehad is totaly worth 5stars!! If I would go back, I would choose him ;)

Great location in a safe area of Aqaba located in the 6th area. Next to the apartment, only a 4 minute walk away, you will find a large 'Sixth Area Market' that is home to restaurants, convenience stores, bakeries, grocery stores, and everything else that you could need. PLEASE NOTE: The address you will receive when booking on Airbnb is a 3-minute walk away from this home (or 1-minute by car). The street that this home is on does not have a street name so we have the address of another one of our apartments listed on here BECAUSE THERE IS NO ADDRESS TO THIS HOME. After booking, please read our check-in message to receive the exact GPS coordinates of this home. This home is more close to the 6th center market and slightly closer to the city than the address on Airbnb, so you’ll have an even better location!
  • Jehad is one of the most helpful hosts we ever met. He organized everything for us, especially a spontaneous diving course 15 minutes after our arrival. We would definitely recommend to stay in his apartment. Thanks for everything!

  • Jehad was an AMAZING host! His place is really nice near the city center (around 4min drive) and Jehad is an exceptional guy. He can tell you everything that you need about Jordan and he can also arrange you some pretty awesome activities. 100% value for money and I was also really happy that I met him. Looking forwards to see you again Jehad for going to find the sunken tank this time and smoke some shisha together. Till then take care 😊

    Konstantinos2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Being Jehad’s guest is a memorable experience. So much more than a nice place to sleep. He makes it easy for you to know the best places in Aqaba, have delicious local food and enjoy activities such as diving. He also helped us connect with the right people to go to Wadi Rum and Petra.

    Rebeca2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • An extraordinary place with all the freedom, as if you were at home and Jedah is a very attentive and kind person, the best place to be in Aqaba ...

    Miguel2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay here. We found the host very helpful and friendly. He took us for food when we arrived and to the local supermarket, which was very kind. Jehad hosted a very pleasant first evening in Jordan with music and chatter. He was able to give us tips and tell us some helpful information about travelling around Jordan. Jehad helped us arrange transportation which was great. The apartment space was big and we had all that we needed. Strong WiFi connection. The apartment itself is a bit run down in parts but we had everything we needed and this was fine for our one night stay. Breakfast was provided - as were drinks (juices and hot drinks) and this was great. It was good value for the money.

The hotel is just a few meters from the beach and you can enjoy the swimming and do not need a taxi for the move. The hotel is located in a lively location next to the restaurants and you can enjoy the most traditional cuisine in the restaurant . There is also a MASK AND FLIPPERS for swimming you can borrow for 2.5 dinars. It is close to the bakery, vegetable and fruit market. We have a private car for trips to Wadi Rum, Petra and the South Beach, and you can enjoy free tea around the clock .
  • We were received very kindly. The property is very clean.

  • Rajab runs a small family hotel with his family in close proximity to the city beach on the Red Sea. He wonderfully organized all transfers for us (from the airport, to the Wadi Rum, to the Dead Sea ...) and he also offers various excursions to sights all over Jordan. We felt very welcome and very much enjoyed our stay in this family hotel.

    Kerstin2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Fare price for great place. Hotel is well located, few minutes to the private beach. People working there are really nice, they will tell you the best places to eat, buy stuff, etc. Definitely recommend!

  • The hosts are super friendly and helpful. They arranged the pickup at the border, helped us to get the best price for trips to Petra and Wadi Rum and did everything for us to have an unforgettable vacation. We had a big and clean room and the hotel is in a great surrounding next to many shops and only one minute walking distance from the ocean. Snorkeling Equipment can be rented for free.
