Large 1 BR apartment in downtown Newport with view of Newport Harbor from private roof deck. Plenty of light and space to relax on a weekend getaway. Steps from best shops/bar/restaurants. Sleeps 2 adults - will accommodate 2 children. / A parking spot is included. 2 night minimum stay - however, we may allow 1 night stay for add'l charge.

The space

Located on Thames Street (Corner of Extension Street) one block from the water. Apartment is on the top floor (3rd), has an open layout w/ a kitchen. Skylights and an entire wall of glass on the harbor side floods the space with light. BR has a Queen-size bed and LR has IKEA pull-out sofa. Enjoy morning coffee or afternoon drinks on the deck with a view of the harbor. Built-in bench & huge skylight in the shower area too.

* The best aspect of this apartment is that it's centrally located and within walking distance of everything fun in Newport. However, it's not a quiet home in the countryside. Thames Street can get noisy at certain parts of the night during the weekends and in the summer. It's usually temporary as people are leaving the bars/restaurant and walking home.

Other things to note

Our Airbnb listing is LEGALLY recognized and registered by City of Newport. We are in the Waterfront Business (WB) district and have the entire building code compliant with the Newport Zoning and Fire Marshal. Please BE AWARE that there are many other Airbnb listings in Newport in Residential Zones (R) that are operating illegally as guest houses and are not authorized by the Newport Zoning and the Fire Marshal - as they are renting dwellings to tenants (potentially you) for under 30 days. OUR advice to YOU is to ASK any other potential Airbnb hosts if their dwellings are code & fire complaint , since the City of Newport can, at any time, enforce the laws and shut an illegal guest house down!

* For your security, lock the front door after you enter and exit - Thames Street is a very busy street.

This was by far the best weekend my boyfriend and I️ had together in awhile. The location was ideal and the house was perfect for the both of us. We enjoyed days just sitting on the couch watching tv or Netflix as well as enjoying local attractions. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go; shopping, restaurants and local bars. Ted was an incredible host and made sure our stay was enjoyable for us. Check in and check out couldn’t have went any smoother! I️ would highly recommend this house.

Very cozy, clean, and in the middle of lots of great restaurants and shops. The private deck is beautiful and overlooks the water. Ted checked in on us multiple times to make sure our stay was comfortable. I would absolutely recommend Ted’s place to anyone visiting Newport. We will definitely be back!

The place was very clean, great locations and the balcony alone was worth the booking. The owner was super responsive and made our first airbnb booking as smooth as it could possibly be. Will book again.

After being on the road for several hours, it was so nice to park our car (free space included with the listing!) and walk everywhere for a couple days. This apartment is right where you want to be for food, shopping, and more. As stated in the description, it does get noisy- my toddler had a hard time sleeping on a Saturday night- but the bedroom has a window unit that we switched on to fan mode and drowned out all the noise. Roof deck was fun to sit and relax on too!

We had a very nice time at Ted's place. We enjoyed the appartment and especially the balcony with the great view. When we arrived there were Snacks and Drinks available and we felt very welcome. Communication was perfect, we would book it again.

Ted's place is awesome! Great location, clean, everything you need. A nice cold beer waiting for you in the fridge ... perfect! The deck is awesome. Stay here. You won't be disappointed!

This is a terrific unit right in the heart of alll Newport has to offer .. just at the southern end of Thames but very walkable to everything down at the main wharfs, broadway, etc. very bright and airy with amazing deck and views. Bathroom is spacious and well organized with lots of areas to store things as needed for a longer stay. Kitchen had many amenities and was easy for us to prepare a few meals vs going out which was a bonus! Would definitely stay again and/or recommend.
