Guests mentioned a rustic handcrafted place with unique features. On the W side of the Hudson River, N of West Point, next to last George Washington's Museum; close to Storm King, DIA, S of FDR's library, CIA etc; peaceful only organic B&B in Hudson Valley. Many arts & History possibilities. Spoil yourself with a healthy breakfast, fresh baked bread & sound sleep ...
Note: this is a real Bed & Breakfast, where the owner lives that speaks also Portuguese, Spanish & German.

The space

All carpentry and general installation was done by myself, thus unique and not perfect.
The house, which is also my residence, albeit built in the 50s, has been retrofitted to be as much green as possible but some parts were still kept in the original, like the tiles on the bathroom floor (there are some scratches but that isn't dirt, please!).
It has the domestic hot water heated by a solar system and the sun also generates electricity to the whole house making it, averaging the year, self sufficient in terms of electricity.
Extra attention has been given to thermal insulation as well.
The bed is equipped with certified asthma mattress cover & allergy pillows.
There is a steam iron available which is meant to be used to wrinkled apparel; please ask for instructions. Thank you!
The bedroom and bathroom are independent and guest's exclusive rooms separated from the kitchen/living (also guest's exclusive) room which, btw, for insurance reasons, is not supplied with utensils to cook; just to prepare or warm up quick and simple meals in the small convection oven or microwave besides to be used for the self-service style breakfast. A refrigerator is part of the kitchen's appliances besides the coffee grinder and percolator. There are organic coffee ground/beans in sealed jars to be ground at your will and taste as well as all the organic goodies in the refrigerator.

Guest access

The premise has an independent entrance at the back of the main house (there is a luminous sign at the entrance door) but, has a few steps to access. The Queendom, albeit part of the house, is a completely independent unit from the house I also live in. During your stay, as respect, I'll not enter the premises.
If you drive an EV (100% electric, as I do), a reminder that a recharging station type 2 is available with no extra costs to guests.

Interaction with guests

I hope that I can please you with your stay, in any way. In that context, please inform, in a time-wise manner, if any allergies or dislikes exist and please, do not hesitate to gift me with the approximate arrival (and departure) times.
A direct communication about any possible observation would always be preferred to be heard from the guests directly and as soon as possible giving me the opportunity to learn and adjust.
Thank you!

Other things to note

All possible food served is organic and if in season, from the own garden.
The fresh bread is also self home-baked with exclusively 100% organic ingredients (whole grain & stone ground) and will be served at mutual convenience time in the morning, after your arrival. During winter time, a wood-fired brick oven is used to bake and some are then frozen for future use. I normally bake whole wheat multi-grain, roasted garlic or simply Italian style bread; please manifest your preference after making the reservation so I can be prepared to match your taste.
Please note its life in the countryside... that means have all aspects of nature. Mother nature has created many beautiful creatures some we like and enjoy and other not so enjoyable; insects are part of that and I try my best to keep them at length. Thanks for understanding.
Please anticipate any relevant information about food allergies or whatever you can't tolerate. I'd like to resonate with your needs/desires.
Again, the independent entrance of the space is in the back of the house (there is a luminous sign at the door), just across the greenhouse and the steps to access it, are between the detached garage and the house.
Thank you.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Queendom during a weekend hiking getaway. Queendom is conveniently located for visits to Storm King Art Center (15 min away) and restaurants nearby. Uwe also pointed us in the direction of a great natural foods grocery where we stocked up on treats for our hike. Queendom was also equipped with a kitchen which had yogurts, oatmeal, coffee and tea available for us. Uwe also greeted us in the morning with a delicious loaf of freshly baked bread. Another added benefit: a massage chair in the sitting area! Nice after a long day of walking. The area was quiet and serene and we appreciated the eco-friendly touches in the home. Thanks, Uwe!

The place looks even better in real life than in the pictures. We had easy access to all the places we wanted to go. Uwe was an exceptional host, and the fresh baked bread he provided was delicious. We highly recommend staying here if you get the chance.

Uwe was a fantastic host. He was kind and very welcoming. He was very easy to communicate with. The Queendom was very comfortable, clean and private. He even baked fresh bread for me in the morning. I highly recommend this for travelers in the future!

My stay at Uwes' was great. I met Uwe outside and he walked me through my living area (no shoes in the living area). His craftsmanship in woodwork is to be admired. He baked fresh bread in the morning. There's a massaging chair for you to use also. The queendom was kept clean and comfortable. The toilet took some getting use to, its a macerating toilet so no toilet paper goes down the toilet. Would recommend a stay at Uwe anytime.

My weekend stay at Uwe's was very nice. The place was very clean and traditional. Uwe met me as I arrived and walked me through my living area. I would recommend this home to anyone.

I pay great respect to nature thus using as much as possible organic products that really resonates with mother nature's life.
Things that I can't live without include good air, love, respect, tribute to nature et cetera.
Having the privilege to host and share myself, or part of it, with other souls adds, always, value to my own being and for that I'm already glad; btw, thanks for reading!
... and my life motto is: enjoy life!
