A lovely room with south east exposure. A simple room, Clean and comfortable with a Queen bed and decorated with eclectic art from around the world.
This pretty room has collected treasures from our travels and from our past. You will have a private room with a queen bed and wonderful summer breezes. You can't see the river but the cooling breeze is wonderfully refreshing. We welcome you to enjoy our hot tub, fireplaces, and daily life. Coffee always, other breakfast by chance (pretty good chance usually). Our comfortable family home is now an empty nest. Plenty of parking, very close to Storm King Art Center, New Windsor cantonment and Purple Heart Museum and convenient to West Point events.
The house and property are available to our guests with the exception of our private bedrooms, the attic and basement. You should check with us if you plan to entertain here.
Interaction with guests
We love to learn about our guests!! People are fascinating-and we are also respectful of those following their own agenda with little time to visit. Sunday mornings are relaxed, other days can be busy yet we've always time to welcome you and get you settled in.
Be comfortable, relax, enjoy. Please treat our home with respect and care. If you smoke, do so in the outside porch or in the gazebo area where ashtrays will be provided. We continue our lives and do not impose on your schedule and are always available to make your visit to the Hudson Valley AMAZING!! Please do not instant book if you will be bringing a pet. Contact me and we can discuss it. I have added a flock of chickens (fresh eggs) and have 2 cats (kept out of the guest room). Some dogs, uptight perfectionists, and some allergic people might not enjoy our home. All others will have a great time!!
A lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley I became an independent real estate investor after a successful 20+ yr career in Brokerage. This gives me wonderful flexibility and travel, gardening, and great books are some of my hobbies. I also love to cook. I am a guest as well as a host. I have always preferred to stay like a local rather than in hotels where you meet mostly other tourists. I love the operas in Prague, the market in the Blessed Valley, the french quarter in the early morning and the hot sweet cacophany India. I want to get the feel of an area I am visiting, Airbnb is great for that. My hosts help me discover the treasures of an area I would probably have missed in a short stay and give me a home base to relax after a days exploring. I have a great husband, Richy, and 3 wonderful kids, who usually don't live at home (the kids that is) but visit often. We have 2 cats and some chickens and are open to well behaved friendly pet visitors. We love having guests and have always hosted. Family from out of town, exchange students that still come and bring their families , friends from other parts all have a home here. Richy is retired now and an avid hiker, writing a book on the Hudson Highlands, so if you like the natural beauty of the Hudson Highlands he is a wealth of information. We enjoy the opportunity of introducing to our area to others. Dia and Storm King Art Center are both nearby as well as West Point Military Academy and Woodbury Commons. The majestic Hudson is about 2 blocks away and there is a public park to launch boats there (Plum Point Park). We have kyacks and they can launch for free. It is about 1 hour to NYC. We are flexible and happy. Life is good!! We welcome your visit.
