Your own two bedroom cottage with magnificent views across the river valley to the mountains. Set in the homestead garden, Fairlight offers you old-fashioned hospitality in the natural peace and quiet. An escape to the country on a cattle property

The space
Twenty minutes from the highway- the 60 acre farm is a quiet oasis in a rural community. Fairlight was purpose built for guests who have described it as comfy, relaxing, well-stocked, private and different. The timber interiors and antique pieces add a touch of charm. One guest said "it was like stepping back to a more relaxed time". Another saw the main bedroom and sighed "How romantic!"
A booking is for 2 guests and the cottage can accommodate 2 extra people.

Guest access
You have the whole cottage to yourselves.
You are welcome to wander the garden, or walk down to the river.
Guests have access to the outdoor Forster room. ( A Room with a View !)
Guests staying for a while may like to enjoy a game of croquet or Bocci on the lawn, use the BBQ, connect to the Bose Soundlink or select from the large DVD library.

Other things to note
Fairlight is in the country, 20 minutes from town so the Continental breakfast is extensive since there is no coffee shop to stroll to.
You choose your breakfast brands so no food is wasted.
Dietary needs like non-dairy or gluten free can be catered for.
Most guests use the kitchen for their evening meal or drive into town.
In winter, there are room heaters and electric blankets. In summer, there are pedestal fans but no air conditioning.

Fairlight Cottage is in Seelands, on the Clarence River. It is halfway between the beaches (Yamba and Minnie Waters) and the mountains with rain forest (Gibralter National Park) - all less than an hour away.
Day trips in the Valley could include the real country hotels-(Copmanhurst) or the river hotels (at Ulmarra ) for lunch.

There are several wonderful spots along the river for picnics. And you can explore the beautiful, historic city of Grafton.

Retired after twenty years of working around the world, I am happy to offer an alternative to travellers in the form of old fashioned hospitality in a private and peaceful setting. My guests have included artists, photographers, performers, business people, lovers and those seeking a complete break away. Fairlight has hosted guests who came to be part of various sporting functions in the Valley- cycle classic, QLD ski race titles, dirt bike trails, bushwalking and canoeing. The guests have come from every state except South Australia, and our international guests have come from Ireland, Denmark, China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, England,Sweden, Brazil, South Africa, Belgium, Zimbabwe, New Zealand, Canada, the Netherlands, Iran and India. Whether it is a one night stay or a fortnight holiday, my joy is twofold...welcoming back past guests and wondering who will come next!
