Great check-in experience
100% of recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
One cozy bedroom in a one-family home in the mid-Bronx near some of the Bronx's main attractions IE: Bronx Zoo, Bronx Botanical Gardens, Little Italy, Van Cortlandt Park, the Fordham Road shopping district and Yankee Stadium. The neighborhood is diverse and quite lively especially in the summer months. If you want to immerse yourself with the Bronx culture and experience the Bronx for what it is then this might be the place for you.

The space
The house is quite cozy, warm, and it's a sanctuary from the outside world. We can only hope that all our guests will feel the same as this will be your home away from home during your stay.

Guest access
Our guests will have their own private bedroom and they will also have access to a shared-half bathroom. The private-full bathroom is strictly for our guests and for their personal and exclusive use.

As for the kitchen, our guests will have access to the microwave, coffee maker/tea-maker pot, toaster, refrigerator, and filtered water. However, guests are NOT allowed to cook. The front porch and the backyard will also be available on warm days and weather permitting.

We love to socialize with our guests and make ourselves available when needed and when time allows. Airbnb is a travel-portal that allows us the privilege to meet people domestically and internationally. However, on the other end of the spectrum we know that our guests need their space to relax, rest, and time to kickback and unwind. And that - too - is honored.

Other things to note
All Guest(s): Please be advised that for safety and security reasons NO ONE but the assigned-registered Airbnb guest(s) - one or two people fully registered with Airbnb at the time of arrival to the house - is/are allowed on the premises including the bedroom reserved by the Airbnb guest(s). This includes one-time over-night guests, friends, family members, or general guests. (IE: If upon reserving the room I see "one guest" on the Airbnb reservation page, then I expect "one guest" throughout the stay at the house).

If you plan to use the MTA subway system to reach our home - particularly the "D" train - be advised that it's better to exit the train at the "Fordham Road" train station and not the "182nd-183rd" station that your phone app might direct you to.

We also have two cats - Micky and Mimi - a year old now! They are both quite friendly. But we hope this does not negatively impact our guests (allergies) as we will try to keep them on the second floor while there are Airbnb guests in the house.

Furthermore, our home is a smoke-free environment, however, smokers may smoke on the front porch or in the backyard.

Be advised that the room has an A/C during the months of June, July, August, and September (May and October as needed) hence the slight increase in the room rental.

Lastly, the neighborhood is quite safe. However bear in mind that despite the neighborhood being safe one should alway practice the art of being cautious and alert at all times. When Arnol and I travel we make every effort to blend in to our surroundings. We don't flash our cell phones, we don't wear jewelry, and we only carry as much cash as we need. NYC is no different from any other major city around the world. A little common sense goes a long way.

We live in a diverse neighborhood with residents literally from all over the world. And with a diverse neighborhood comes an array of local cultures and traditions (food, music, language, dialects, clothing, etc). During the summer months the neighborhood come alive with the sounds of music as if each corner competes to outdo the other.

Moreover, Little Italy is but a 5 minute walk from the house and offer lots of cafes, shops, and restaurants. In addition, the neighborhood is dotted with plenty of supermarkets, bodegas, and delis.

I should note that the prestigious Fordham University is also a few blocks from the house as is the Fordham Road shopping district.

In addition, Enterprise Car Rental is located on Fordham Road for those guests who wish to rent a vehicle to explore NYC by car or explore the open spaces upstate New York or any other nearby state (IE: New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, etc.).

Further east on Fordham Road you will encounter the Bronx Zoo and the Bronx Botanical Garden. Continue east on Fordham Road - which turns to Pelham Parkway - to reach Orchard Beach (summer months only) and City Island, well known for its delicious seafood restaurants.

During your stay
As host, we commit to ensuring that our guests have a clean room, privacy, and peace of mind. We are available to answer all questions; provide adequate directions, and valuable tips as well as socialize with our guests.

Most importantly, we want our guests to feel as if they are at home! Arnol and I have traveled extensively. Relying on personal experience - as to how we have been treated abroad - allows us to improve on that positive experience and implement those values into our airbnb; and by extension, to our guests.

Therefore, a pre-welcome to everyone who books with us! Nuestra casa es su casa!
