The space

We are looking forward to welcoming you back and rest assured that besides extra cleaning we have introduced extra sanitising and disinfecting steps between each guest to reduce their risk of infection.

This luxurious home boasts a beautiful large tranquil tropical garden enjoying country & sunrise views. The designer finished property boasts 3 x Air Conditioned Double Bedrooms, a modern indoor kitchen plus an outside cooking area.2 x Showers Rooms, plus a sitting & living room area.

Dine 'al fresco' on the large terrace to the exotic sounds of nature.

The garden is a paradise for watching wildlife. I've seen a huge variety of exotic animals & birds by just sitting on the terrace, such as finches, kingfishers, parrots, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, peacocks, black & brown monkeys, mongooses, porcupines and regal monitor lizards walking across the lawn. At night time the jungle sounds & ambience changes...the fruit bats fly silently above whilst the tall mango tree in our garden is visited by hundreds of fireflies.. a truly magical experience!

Crack open a coconut (a beer or a pina colada) & lay back in a hammock & experience yet another beautiful sunrise or the 'full moon' rising over the paddy & cinnamon fields whilst listening to the exotic ambience oozing from the jungle.

A short 5-6 minute shaded walk by a beautiful mangrove will lead you to the stunning Mirissa Beach.

So we ask you why rent just a room when you can enjoy a luxury home & garden for a similar price! 'Your dream home' combines the comfort of an exceptional villa with all the modern comforts of five star hotels. Why compromise when you can reside in the perfect blend of privacy, space and cleanliness.

Where you’ll be

Mirissa, Southern Province, Sri Lanka

The Sri Lanka Southern Coast region

BLUE WHALE WATCHING... Mirissa is perfectly placed for whale-watching expeditions, thanks to it's proximity to the world's great cetacean migratory routes. With sightings of these majestic creatures almost guaranteed for large parts of the year, there's a high possibility of seeing Bryde's whales, Killer whales, Sperm whales and Blue whales (as well as spinner dolphins) on a single trip. December to April being the best months.

MIRISSA BEACH ...Lonely Planet describes Mirissa as follows...Crack open a coconut, slip into a hammock and rock gently in the breeze, allowing the hours, days and even weeks to slip calmly by. Welcome to sleepy Mirissa, a place so idyllic that only a fool would ever want to leave. This sandy tropical beach boasts some of Sri Lanka's best and most stunning sunsets and sunrises.

TURTLES ON MIRISSA BEACH ... Sri Lanka is home to five kinds of turtle's species including Green turtles, Leatherbacks, Olive Ridleys, Hawksbills and Loggerheads all of who regularly visit Mirissa Beach to lay their eggs and build their nests. Situated on the beach you'll find The Coast Guard Turtle Conservation Project with the purpose of preserving and raising the awareness of sea turtle conservation. The coast guards move the eggs to safer areas and once they hatch visitors are invited to release the baby turtles back into the sea at sunset time .

LAKE GARADUWA & NILWALA RIVER ...Mirissa is not all about the beach, there is so much more to explore. If you're a wildlife lover take a trip on Lake Garaduwa or the Nilwala River. Sri Lanka is a birds paradise with more than 420 resident species and it seems that many of them like to visit the lush lake & surrounding mangroves. Photography lovers will enjoy snapping away at exotic birds such as Red-faced Malkoha & Green billed Coucal peacocks, Woodpeckers & electric blue Kingfishers to name a few.

WILDLIFE IN MIRISSA... the area is rich with wild life. You'll see chipmunks, monkeys swinging on trees, mongooses, porcupines, iguanas and a variety of land and water monitor lizards.

Hello, I'm Bryan Azzopardy, an English Born cinematographer and 'wedding filmmaker' based in Malta. My love for travel has led me to film in more than 50 countries and over 120 exotic locations. My wife is from Armenia and we both have one thing in common, our love to travel! When our son Kai was born, we promised ourselves that we would not let having a young child stop us from travelling and when he was one year old we travelled to India with him. We ensured we travelled light and homeschooled him whilst we were travelling and he was away from school. We always felt that he learnt so much through travel. One thing we did realise though was that we started looking to book more comfortable places. We looked to book places with a kitchen so my wife could prepare baby food hygienically for our son. AS we got more into the swing of travelling with a child we looked for homes with a garden that we could use to chill in the evenings whilst he slept. Then in 2012 we visited Sri Lanka for our first time and fell in love with this beautiful island and the warmth of the Sri Lankan people. Needless to say, we jumped at the opportunity to build our own home in a magical tranquil tropical garden, facing the sunrise but yet only 5 minutes away from Mirissa Beach. We knew what families with young children looked for in 'holiday rental home' and we set out in a creating our dream home that we would offer for rent to like-minded families that are looking for that extra bit of luxury and higher standards to stay with their young children. In 2013 our dream home was ready and we launched 'Your Dream Home - Mirissa' It's been a great journey and we have welcomed guests from all over the world into our home. We truly feel blessed for the love our guests have shown towards our home and would like to also thank them for their feedback which is so important to us. All of this would not have been possible if we never met Rani and her late husband Nandy back in 2013 during our first visit to Sri Lanka. They became like family to us. We are lucky to have Rani and now her daughter Lanka to care for our guests whilst they stay at our home. NEW for 2020 we are proud to launch our new project. Your Dream Bungalow - Mirissa It was great fun designing this new home and incorporating everything I've learned about your needs during the last seven years We look forward to welcoming you and thanks for choosing our home for your stay in Mirissa. Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything that would make your stay more enjoyable. And as always if Rani cannot assist you I’m always just a message away. Bryan x
