Built in 1900, this home was built for William and Kitty Parnell. The street is still called "Parnell Hill" by the old-timers. Walk uptown to the restaurants, shops, and bars, or around the corner to the Parkway Playhouse, library, skatepark, Kid Mountain playground, or hike 3 miles to the peak of Phillips Knob, a finer view - imho - than from Mt. Mitchell. Or just sit on the front porch with your banjo on your knee!

Lucy's place is great. Everything is clean and she leaves good instructions on how to use the various amenities in the house. There are several dogs but they are sweet and calm. There are lots of cool posters and art around the house.

Nice little quaint place to stay at. Really clean and welcoming house without any unnecessary big city amenities (like cable / TV - you're there to enjoy nature not watch TV). It is a hidden gem in the Burnsville / Yancey County area. You will feel right at home with Lucy and her…
