Thank you for your candid review. I'm sorry that you were not happy with the apartment and wish I had known that during your visit. We had several text message exchanges in which you seemed quite pleased. I might have been able to help put your mind at ease or help in some other way if I had known you were unhappy.
I will definitely work on the upstairs noise issue you noted in your private feedback, as that is not acceptable.
I am upfront in my listing description about the fact that my street is safe and quiet and also close to not good neighborhoods that should not be walked alone at night. On my street, individuals and families walk during the day and dusk, often pushing baby strollers and walking toddlers.
The living room and bathroom windows do look directly onto neighboring brick walls, so I keep those shades closed. The bedroom has three windows. There are also two big windows in the dining room (one that looks out on the deck, backyards and trees, one that looks out on the neighboring building). There's also a window in the kitchen door that leads out to the outdoor deck that other guests have enjoyed. All of these are accurately reflected in my listing photos.
It is clear that you were not at all comfortable with the urban mix that is Newburgh, and I totally understand that it is not for everyone.
I wish you better experiences in the future.
All my best,
