Charming first floor of a guesthouse dateing back to late ‘800, just restaured. Bedroom and bathroom fully equipped. It is in a garden of camellias, villa Anelli, with view on lake Maggiore, only reachable via feet. The window faces camellias blooming in springtime and winter, green during summer. Beautiful terrace facing far away the lake and the castles of Cannero, perfect for an aperitivo at sunset. Atmosphere of an english cottage, perfect for a couple. The bed is a king one, yes kitchen.

The space
The guest house, recently restaured, dates back to late '800. It is a tipical building of the area, characterized by exposed beam ceilings and an antique decor; this floor can accommodate two people, it is a bedroom, a private bathroom. A natural oasis in which to relax, it is located in the historic garden of Villa Anelli in Oggebbio, on the Lake Maggiore. Close to the Swiss side of the lake, the village is easily accessible. Private parking is available on the main square, but the guesthouse is only accessible by feet. The airport in Malpensa is one hour away, whereas Milan and Turin are one hour and a half away. Public buses lead in and to the train station of Verbania Pallanza daily. There is the city tax to be payied of 0,40€ pax per night of stay.

Guest access
Our guest are more then welcome to relax in the garden, looking at the labelled camellias mother plants. Charming table and chairs are disposed in the terrace, facing the camellia arboretum and the lake with view, far away, of the Cannero Castles: we recommend to drink an aperitif at sunset time there. They can also pick the vegetable garden fuits. Our guests can access indipendently from the main gate, with an illuminated path at night.

Other things to note
The garden is amazing is romantic english style, with a little creek on a steep valley: we recommend people to pay attention at the paths and wear comfortable shoes while in the garden.

Oggebbio, Piemonte, Italy

Nothern lake Maggiore in the piedmont share is amazing: from lake to mountain, it offers a wide range of places to visit. The village of Oggebbio, very calm, offers a great variety of nordic walking paths. Nearby, villages as Cannero Riviera, Verbania or Cannobbio are more turistic with a lot of restaurants. Many are the things to do: swim or windsurfing in the lake, riding horses, mountain biking, visits to the Borromeo Islands and to Brissago islands, to Locarno. In rainy days, you can go to visit the ceramic museum of Laveno or just relax at the Locarno terms, or in Ghiffa.

Andrea Corneo, who was born and raised in the garden of Villa Anelli, is one of the top experts in Italy on Camellias. Being passionate for botany, he holds a degree in Agriculture, and is currently the president of the Italian Society of Camellias. He will be the one to tell you about the curious history of this place, and the various techniques that we use to grow the camellias. He loves mountain biking and exploring the nature with it. He travelled all over the world seeking for plants and not only for leisure! Orsola Poggi Corneo, Andrea’s wife, was born in Verona and now is awfully in love with camellias and this beautiful area: she’s discovering more and more Lake Maggiore and she’ll infect you as well with her passion of the lake, good healty food, camellias and EggArt (eggshell decoration). She is a member of the International Art Guild and the World Egg Artist Association. Her occupations include teaching and artistic crafts. They have two little children, Carlo Annibale aged 8 and Fiammetta, aged 2. The kids follow their parents everywhere. They live beetween Milan and Oggebbio. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Andrea Corneo è nato e cresciuto nel giardino di Villa Anelli, è uno dei massimi esperti Italiani di Camelie.
