Tydal Ski Center is 8-10 minutes away by car and is a nice alpine resort for the whole family. Groceries and Stugudal Grill are 1 km away from the cabin.

It is 23 km/20-25 minutes by car to Røros, 8 km to the village Glåmos with grocery store, and 10 km to Olavsgruva. There is always snow here in the winter, and ski tracks lead up to Rørosviddas extensive ski network when conditions allow. Good hiking opportunities in the surrounding area also in summer. There is a year-round road all the way to the house and you can park right outside the door.

In the summer, cows graze in the nearby fields; the traditional barn is now a cultural centre, run by Fjøsakademiet.
