There is also available BBQ area on the back yard.
“I recomend this place. Is family owned, and you feel like home. The area is a little bit remote, but this is what we liked. Walking distance by city-center: 10-15 minutes. Check in and communication really smooth. Heat system worked very well, very spaciuos, and the kitchen have everything. But what we like the most was the ospitality.”
Lovely attic double room and terrace on the last floor of a 3-floor villa located less than 5 minutes away(walking) from the city center. Ideal for couples who want to spend some time in the city.
“If you want to be adopted into an Albanian family for a night or few, then stop looking. Just go and stay at Lira's place. It's actually hosted by her parents Arti and Zamira - very young at heart 60+ year olds. We've stayed in about 100 AirBNB's around the world and never received greater warmth, hospitality and welcome. We were immediately adopted into the family, given slippers to mandatorily wear in the house and marched up to the delightful accommodation space on the third floor. Here we were endowed with gifts of candied fruit, a caramel syrup flavoured alcoholic drink and other delights. After settling in, we were presented with a plate of fruit, and then in the morning the breakfast left us with jaws agape! The plate of salad, coffee, tea, home made jams and strawberry / caramel dessert parfait weren't sufficient. No no, shortly after starting on this array of home cooked and prepared delights (and Zamira is a literature and food technology teacher) we were each presented with a plate of perfectly prepared eggs on ham and fresh buttered toast. This adorned with lettuce and a sprig of herbs for that restaurant touch. After the shock of breakfast wore off, we set off on our tandem bicycle towards Pogradec, with fond memories in our hearts of the time we spent in Elbasan, Albania. Additionally, today was Zamira's 65th birthday, and we wish we could have prepared a surprise of some sort for her. I hope that she and Arti have plans for the day that allow them to enjoy each others company on a beautiful Elbasan day. So far as everything else goes, well frankly it doesn't matter. But for those that like details the bed was very comfortable, the room nicely adorned with homely touches and the place very clean and tidy. The alfresco / balcony / rooftop garden was a sheer delight and here I worked in the afternoon as the wifi was better than in the bedroom itself. I was surrounded by a myriad of flower and herb, vegetable and fruit pots and the gentle breeze fluttering across the rooftops just made the experience even more relaxing and idyllic. Still not done though, Arti put on some light, romantic music in the afternoon, and then classical music as we enjoyed our breakfast today. Apparently we could have shared the family room, lounge and TV with Arti and Zamira, but we preferred to stay in the room above. It was very spacious, light and comfortable. The location is also ideal, with the entrance nestled in a side street right next to a small cafe on the ground floor. A lovely park with so many formally dressed men was just 50m away, and this whole precinct was surrounded with cafe's and bars of all types. The Elbasan castle is just a few minutes walk and enclosed within is a hidden jewel - that of the "Real Scampi". We've no idea of public transport or parking because we arrived by bicycle. Not only was that welcomed, but Arti insisted we bring our bicycle in off the street and onto the ground floor landing where it would be safer. We appreciated that. We were sent on our way with a bag of mixed fruits today, including home grown strawberries, locut berries, green plums, peaches and apples. These were enjoyed at the top of the climb heading to Lake Ohrid, about 60km into our journey. Do we recommend Lira's place? Oh yes, we even recommend you go out of your way to stay there and definitely think that if you can arrange a multiple days stay that you will be duly rewarded in term of relaxation, engagement and happiness.”
