Mökki means “cottage” in Nordic Finnish. Please spend your time as you like in a special space that is detached from your daily routine. Guest house Mökki is located in Shinano-cho in northern Nagano Prefecture, blessed with forests, lakes and snow. This is a house with a superb view overlooking Lake Nojiri. There are several ski slopes (Myoko, Kurohime, and Masao), about 15-20 minutes away, making it a perfect base for winter sports. Enjoy a wood-burning sauna and a stunning water bath. There are no private houses around, so you can also watch music and movies with loud noises. Since it is a house nestled in the mountains, we will do our best to take care of it, but during the warmer months, insects can be seen.It snows a lot in winter.In autumn, the leaves dance. You must also adjust the fire in the wood stove yourself. It's not an easy house to live in, but it's got an incredible view. Enjoy cooking with a kitchen counter with stunning views, condiments, and a cooker.(There is no equipment for BBQ.)

An old Japanese Traditional KOMINKA house with a history of about 150 years. It's located along the River. When you open the window, you can feel the pleasant breeze coming up from the river. Opposite the house is a Shrine and two large zelkova trees that are designated as national natural monuments. It's like the world of Ghibli. This is the Kominka style BNB in Yamanakako. “Hirano no Hama” A 8 min walk to the breathtaking view of Mt Fuji overlooking the lake. Only a 5 min walk from the Hirano highway bus terminal to connect “Busta Shinjuku” / Tokyo Sta. Tourists in the most walkable neighborhoods of Hirano ward will find a car isn't necessary to get around.

Ricefields, Rivers and Mountains

This house is a beautiful blend of traditional and modern making it convenient but also authentically Japanese. Mountains and ricefields are beside you, the Shimanto River can be heard. The ground floor is all yours. It's spacious with a large tatami sleeping room that can become two. The A/C is only in one room if the doors are closed. There is no central heating. Restaurants are within 10min or you can prepare local foods in your own equipped kitchen. It’s designed for long and short stays.
