HAKU is a Japanese Style Villa. You can enjoy your private time as in your home. “HAKU“ is one of the readings of the character “百” which means “hundred”. Medieval Haiku poet, Basho Matsuo likened eternal passage of time to "百代の過客", a permanent traveller. In his time, a hundred years was expressed as eternal. HAKU was originally built as a farmer’s shed about a hundred years ago. It was recently relocated and renovated for another hundred years. HAKU will welcome you as traveling companions.

A historical old house lodge "Kusanoniwa"

Kusa no Niwa is a traditional Japanese-style house with a courtyard and corridors that was built more than 130 years ago. The entire house with a size of 100 square meters will be lent privately to a single group with a maximum capacity of 6 persons. You will find a fusuma, a sliding door with a paper panel, painted by a famous Japanese Painter, which can be also found in the Taue’s House, an Important Cultural Property, located in Nyukawa Town.

In the winter it is a fireplace with firewood, in the summer it is naturally comfortable wind, free from the urban noisy flow of time, please refresh yourself naturally touching. 伝統的な日本式の古民家と大正ロマン、昭和レトロを思わせる洋館を併せ持つ家屋です。造営100年を超える小さいながらも凛とした日本庭園が、皆さまをお迎えする1棟貸し切りの宿「大前家」です。 高山盆地の東に位置する寺院群の一画に、当宿「大前家」が建てられています。 道路より正面の苔むす石積みに沿って階段を上がると突き出した松の木が出迎え得くれます。格子戸を開けると右には、造営100年を超えると思われる日本庭園が望めます。玄関に入り、畳敷の廊下よりリビングに入ると、そこからは日本庭園が開放的に眺められます。さらに廊下を進むと茶室があり、そこから座って観る日本庭園は、小規模ながらも趣を感じさせられます。
