What you'll do

We'll transport our comfortable cruiser bikes up to the beautiful University of Santa Cruz campus. Situated high on a hill surround by majestic redwood trees, our starting point offers a birds eye view of Santa Cruz county from the mountains to the shore. Now, off we go on safe, well-marked bike-paths, downhill almost all the way.
A quick stop at one of the many craft breweries on the Westside of town. Cruise by Natural Bridges Beach along the cliffs of the famous West Cliff Drive and watch the worlds best Surfers navigating the 'Steamer Lane' waves from lighthouse point.
On to the SC Wharf to grab a crab cocktail and visit with the pelicans and Sea Lions. Cruise past the historic Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk with its 100-year old roller coaster.
We'll cruise around the the SC Yacht Harbor and watch a beach volleyball game in at Twin Lakes Beach from the Crows Nest deck.
It is then rolling hills with the Bay on our right, past Sunny Cove Beach and Pleasure Point - a surf community mecca.
Home stretch- down into the quaint Capitola Village with its multicolored houses, bars, restaurants, shops and another wharf with live music and dancing on the rooftop

Our family of 5 had a stellar experience on our 13 mile bike ride with Jack. When we arrived to his home he showed us our route and made sure to check in on anything that could be a complication for us (past injuries or health needs). He drove us and the bikes to the top of UC Santa Cruz campus and got us all fitted to bikes and showed us how to use them. We started our route through the redwoods and it was the perfect trail to get use to the bikes and enjoy nature and solitude. Jack safely navigated us through high pedestrian areas and any spots near cars. We stopped at a look off point that showed us fantastic views of Santa Cruz. We saw the Marine Lab, enjoyed both West and East Point Drive, the pier, the boardwalk, and great Capitola views. I highly recommend Jack’s BikeTour to visitors of the area looking for a one of a kind experience allowing them to take in multiple coastlines. This trip is a memory our family will cherish forever. Thanks Jack!

My husband and I along with our adult daughter, son and his fiancé gathered together in an AirBnB in hills above Watsonville from the different Midwest and northeast cities, that we now reside in, to meet up and spend a short vacation together. Our usual get togethers in the the past have been around Christmas time, where the weather is often the in single digits. I felt it important to bring this up so that readers would understand how utterly incredible this experience was for all of us. To be together at a warm sunny location, and a BEAUTIFUL location was a HUGE deal for all of us! Jack made the cruiser adventure really tailored to our abilities and comfort levels. He was so warm, kind, caring and a pleasure to be around. Jack discussed and showed his planned route and then took us on beautiful and fun routes thru redwoods and along the beautiful coastline from Northern Santa Cruz to the overlook point above Capitola. It was easy to meet up with him and get on a cruiser bike he provided (helmet and water bottle included). It was one of the most fun and memorable experiences I’ve had with my family in ages! If you have an afternoon that you want to spend being in the elements, in the fragrant redwood forest, to feel and smell the sea air and view the coastal rocky beaches with all the lovely kelp beds, glistening blue ocean waters, multitude of seabirds, seals, succulents and flowering plants along the sea cliffs and private properties, to ride out onto the Santa Cruz pier and enjoy a shrimp cocktail, a bowl of chowder or fried calamari basket, and, then, pedal more along back roadways, with stunning vistas, towards Capitola, this adventure is for you and one you won’t want to miss!
