The trip was nice but there are lots of things that can be improved by the host in the future. The guide Adam was friendly on the way but once we got to the village, it was pretty understructured. The guide walked and described the history and local life of the village and a pagoda nearby but it was a very short walk (not even 1 km) for about 20-30 mins. And then we spent the rest of our time (1.5 hours) waiting for the sunset, not talking much to the guide in a local restaurant in the Tonle Sap lake which we WEREN'T informed about in the description and the guide when we started the experience. Also there weren't too much interaction with the locals, only they tried to sell many random things to us, and the weirdest thing were those printed photos of us taken by a kid without our permission. There were also a few other groups of tourist from other places that gave me the feels that this experience could be done somewhere else. Overall this is still one of the interesting things to do in Siem Reap but you need to manage your expectations.

I enjoyed this experience. The village and the people who lived in the village are amazing and beautiful. I earned so much from this experience and I now have great memories that will last a lifetime. Our guide explained everything clearly and showed of the way of life in the village. It is dry season so we weren’t able to see the village on water, we were on dry land. However, we took a boat to the floating restaurants, which was great.

Our host and driver were very friendly and hospitable. The pickup and dropoff in an AC van was very convenient since the majority of the drive to the floating village was incredibly dusty. The tour of the village was underwhelming but the boat ride to the lake was nonetheless enjoyable. I would recommend this experience to others but to manage expectations. There is minimal interaction with the locals aside from them trying to sell random items. For the vast majority of the visit at the village, our group was surrounded by other tourists, giving the feel that this particular tour could have been achieved in perhaps a more unique manner.

Experience was good, pretty pricey in comparison to other tours you can do in this country and what they offer, but we learnt a lot. Host was very knowledgeable and the boat wasn't crowded over like some of the other tours we saw. Hoping that some of the $80 odd goes back into the local community that we visited. Sunset was nice, was a friendly atmosphere.

Siem Reap Floating Village Experience is definitely a must-do if you are in Siem Reap. Adam, our host, was very friendly, picked us up in time at the hotel and took us to the water where we took a boat to the village of Kampung Pluk. It was a unique experience: we had the chance to get close to the locals’ everyday life, at the temple, at the market, even in their own double decker houses (during dry season people live on the first floor). Then we went to the mangroves and to the lake of Tonle Sap. Highly recommend! Thank you Adam!
