What you'll do

We begin at The Bell inn, next to Nottingham's Old Market Square and embark on a walk around the main sites, statues and buildings in the city, taking in Hockley, The Lace Market and of course the castle! There is a stop for a drink half way around at a secret location and we finish up at Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem, the oldest surviving pub in the world! This is an interactive tour where you get the chance to quiz your guide as well as hear a LOAD of Nottingham-related jokes and facts.

Nutty Nottingham is a unique history and comedy tour of the city, hosted by a professional comedian. There's all the main information you would want to know as well as a bag full of fun facts and a laugh at every stop! This tour only began in June 2018 and takes approximately ninety minutes, but can be tailored for private tours if there are six or more of you. Your host ('The Sheriff') has been performing comedy for a quarter of a century, has a history-based degree and a deep love of the place he calls home.

Great wander around the city into spaces and places we’ve not been to before and a couple we had but with more insight and perspective. Paul was an entertaining and knowledgeable guide and would recommend even for locals!

Paul entertained our family of six ranging in age from 10 to 56. He trod the right line between making it fun and light-hearted and giving us some historical and culturally significant information. He kept up a stream of quips and (groan-worthy) jokes even when it started raining, so that we barely noticed the rain and felt at the end of it that we had achieved something and had a full tour.

Paul's humor and candor brought Nottingham alive for me and wifey, allowing us to see Nottingham as an insider. He highlighted major contributions Nottingham offered historically/globally - from political shakeups to inventions - and shared about cool pubs and interesting tidbits. Overall a very good tour.

Witty walkabout wizard Paul took us on a hilarious tour of Nottingham city center. The tour included the oldest inn’s & pubs in the area, beautiful churches & cathedral views, lace district insights, and finished up just outside the castle walls at Trip to Jerusalem. He easily entertained our group ranging in age from 13 to 81! We were laughing with and at The Sheriff for the entire 2 hours. When you visit Nottingham, don’t miss this adventure!

Paul really knows Nottingham and the neighborhoods. Using short stories and humor, he talks about the areas historically and how it affects life there today. I recommend his tour.
