What you'll do

Kids are welcomed to join!

Join us in a class to learn how to make famous Shanghainese xiǎolóngbāo soup dumplings from start to finish.
You’ll learn how to cook them two different ways (steamed and fried), and I’ll even reveal how the soup gets wrapped up inside the dumpling! You will also learn how to make a yummy dipping sauce that complements the dumplings.
Finally, we will enjoy our handmade xiǎolóngbāo together. You will also get to take home an easy-to-follow recipe so you can recreate the cooking experience in your own kitchen.

This experience is suitable as a team building exercise.

If you would like to book a date that is not currently offered, please contact me. If I am available that day we can have class then.

Hi, I'm Cici! I’ve been teaching Chinese cooking classes to both expats and foreign visitors alike for almost a decade. Throughout these years I have enjoyed sharing my culture with foreigners as well as hearing about their cultures—especially what they like to eat. After first teaching students how to make the food I grew up eating in Northern China, my students begged me to teach them how to cook even more types of Chinese food, so I went to culinary school to learn the art of dim sum and earned the highest dim sum qualifications available.

Her explanation, English and Chinese are very easy to understand. I thought it was very difficult to make a dumpling. But It was easy and fun to make. And really delicious! I want to make it again. I highly recommend it.

I had a great time learning how to make xiaolongbao dumplings with Cici, I was fortunate to get a 1 on 1 class and picked up the skills really quickly, and they taste great! Cici was really friendly, and helpful. We also shared stories about our lives and I’m so glad to have been able to meet her. I’d recommend this for anyone who wants to learn how to make xiaolongbao yourself! It’s way easier than expected with Cici’s tips. It’s also a great activity for groups and team building!

Cici was an incredible teacher and we loved the experience of learning how to make xiaolongbao! She gave fun history and background, took great care in ensuring we understood each step and were successful in crafting our dumplings. The final product was delicious, and we loved the other dishes she shared with us as well!
