About your host

I am a home chef who was born and raised in Nara for 35 years. I use very fresh vegitables from local farmers and ingredients from Nara as many as possible. My previous work experience as a manager of a guesthouse has brought me here to start my cooking class for foreign tourists. I hope that I can spread Japanese culture more to the world. I'm looking forward to seeing you!

What we’ll do

A home chef, Chie will provide you an exploring Japanese cooking culture in an historical city, Nara. I will teach you not only how to make the cuisines but also some Japanese cooking skills. In the class, I demonstrate the process how to make each dishes firs. I will give you a recipe so you can cook them at home by yourself. As an optional menu, you can enjoy local sake tasting too (3 kinds)…

I use seafood and some meat. If you have a food allergy, please inform me in advance. The menu may change depending on the season and shopping situation.
