About your host

Over twenty years ago, after long working at a Japanese traditional ryokan as a chef, my husband started a local tempura restaurant in Kyoto called Gion Ebisen. I've been helping him with customer service since we started. Lately, many travelers visit our restaurant and we always enjoy talking with them—making customers happy makes me happy. I'm so excited to take you behind the scenes to show you…

What we’ll do

You'll enjoy watching as my husband demonstrates "Katsuramuki"—one of the most difficult, yet essential techniques for professional Japanese…
