I'm Zakia, the founder of Invisible Cities, an organisation that trains people who have experienced homelessness to be tour guides. Paul, your guide is a Leith local and legend and will take you along the streets that he knows best, telling you stories that follow the Trainspotting Books and films.

Invisible Cities is a social enterprise that trains people who have experienced homelessness to become walking tour guides of their own city. We offer alternative tours of Edinburgh, all focused on what our guides are passionate about! We use 100% of our profits for the development of our guides or to give back to the community.
This is a social impact experience where 100% of what you pay for this experience goes to Invisible Cities. .

What we’ll do

Your guide Paul will take you on a tour of HIS Edinburgh- in Leith specifically. He will tell you about characters that made Leith famous and will tell you all about Trainspotting- the books and films. He will also share stories from his own life and will show you local social enterprises and places to go!

Where you'll be

You will start at the Newkirkgate (by Queen Victoria's statue) and will hear stories of the foot of Leith walk, which inspired many scenes of Trainspotting. You will go through the "Banana flats" to finish in the shore, at a hub for social enterprise and social innovation.
