What you'll do
My experience is part of the partnership between Airbnb and the Thai Ministry of Interior’s Community Development Department to showcase charming yet lesser-known local communities across Thailand. With us, you'll get to venture out and explore unseen aspects of unique local cultures and ways of life in Thai villages without even having to leave your homes.
In this one-hour experience, we'll bring you to know more about Chiangmai and golden triangle before heading to survey in Ban Mae Hoi and Ban Mae Klang villages, Chaing Mai which locates in Inthanon Mountain - the tallest mountain in Thailand. Back in the 1950s, this area was known as a place for opium plantations. Nowadays, people know this place as a homestay village, coffee plantation, and trekking trail.
My co-host, (Pim+Nu), who is one of the hill tribes and the 3th-gen of the opium gardener will share you to understand more deeply about highland communities after the drug's control. While exploring you can enjoy the vibe of their village then she'll show you how to hand drip like a local do.
Ideal for corporate groups, team-building, anniversaries, and private groups. Contact me for the preferred date/time.
PS.Please be on time as late comers interrupt the session and will not be allowed to join in most cases. Then I'll inbox you how to join another group instead.

I (Happy Bird) and our hilltribe friend (Pim and Nu) work together as local host in trekking trip to the highest mountain in Thailand for many years. We love to share our stories and local livelihoods to all friends around the world who came to visit us since I graduated from Chiangmai University. Pim and Nu are the daughters of the village head who conserves and encourages young people to be proud of their traditional culture (White Karen) . They do organic plantations such as coffee, strawberry, avocado and rice for subsistence living. Furthermore, they have a little bamboo coffee shop that welcomes your next trips.

Bird was very friendly and informative. I went to college in Chiangmai and had lived there for 4 years. Yet, I learned something new from Bird! The quality of his photos and videos were great. It was also nice to "meet" Pim and learned about her life. Next time I visit Chiangmai, I'll definitely take this experience with them in person. Highly Recommended.
