  • April and Ken's place was exactly as pictured and perfect for our girl's weekend in New Orleans!

    Jessica2017-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Private, walkable to the French quarter, everything we needed was there to make our stay easy. Would recommend.

  • An ideal Airbnb experience. Beautiful home. Great communication. Fantastic value. The perfect Airbnb for a weekend in NOLA

    Clark2015-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • April and Ken were so warm and welcoming - and when disaster struck and our flight was delayed by two whole days, they immediately offered us their guest bedroom in their home so that we could still visit. They were the perfect combination of sweet and helpful but also left us to our own adventures, and I'd absolutely stay with them again. Plus - their cat Bosworth is absolutely charming, and even slept with us the last night we were there. Can't recommend our experience with them highly enough!

  • Although it's a 20 minute walk to the French Quarter the place is a quiet neighbourhood and has all the comforts you need. April and Ken's suggestions for restaurants, bars and taxi info were perfect.

  • This place was great! April and Ken were always a text message away, and the house itself was charming, bright, and had every amenity we could possibly need. It really does look exactly like the photos. The french quarter was a quick 5 or so minute car ride away (or a 20 minute walk) but we found a lot to love in the nearby area. We would absolutely stay again!

    Jennifer2015-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully decorated garden house on the tree lined Esplanade. Very comfortable beds, full kitchen and all the ingredients for a good breakfast. There is a small shop in the neighborhood for milk and eggs. Ken was a very helpful host and April a very alert email reader and reactor. We would love to return for more New Orleans experience.

  • Great place to visit New Orleans for couples or singles, work or fun. I loved this cottage for many reasons. I slept very well because it is very quiet at night and the mattress is comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and high quality. Wholefoods is 6 minutes away by car. The location is excellent, the street is gorgeous and a stunning park and the French quarter and an awesome gym (NOLA Athletic Club) are 20 minutes by walk away. The hosts are prompt and friendly. They also give excellent suggestions on places to eat. Could not have been better.

This beautiful home is in a perfect location to explore the City of New Orleans. It is a hidden gem within walking distance of Frenchmen Street, the best local cafes, bars and restaurants (L'il Dizzy's, Port of Call, Cafe Du Monde), and only 2 blocks from the French Quarters. The home is perfect for those who want to be near it all yet still have an authentic New Orleans experience that is usually only available to locals.
This is a true New Orleans home...you'll enjoy all of the traditional details, like the fireplace and exposed brick.
This neighborhood is alive. It's energy is quintessential New Orleans. You won't find a bad meal or a weak drink. The locals are always friendly and quick to start a conversation.
  • It looks just like the pictures

  • I wish I had read the reviews more carefully before renting this place. Although it's a very nice apartment and well situated, NONE of the complaints from earlier tenants were corrected: 1. This place doesn't sleep four people. The sofa bed is broken and very hard to open, it took us a half hour. The mattress is down to the wires and badly needs replacement. I arrived at 2:00 am, the bed was not made and once I finally located the sheets, I found they were ripped and stained, duvet cover was missing. When I asked Mark for a new sheet set, Truedell brought another set that was just as ripped and stained. 2. There was no table and chairs to eat and sit on. I asked Truedell to bring us a set, she brought a very small garden bistro table with two chairs for three people. Also the stool at the bottom of the bed was wobbly and unsafe. 3. The kitchen looks great but the dishwasher doesn't work. There are no kitchen knives to cut meat and vegetables. This kitchen is for show not for cooking. 4. No hooks or towel bars in the bathroom to hang towels. The shower head was hanging and we had to fix it. 5. It lacks basic supplies like extra tp rolls and cleaning products. we had to request them, Truedell obliged with more rolls and a 2/3 empty small dish liquid bottle. I would suggest not renting this place until Mark states he has fixed and corrected all the problems above. Wifi and A/C worked like a charm is the best I can say about this apartment. The place is not good value for the $200+ we paid per night. I called Airbnb and received a $200 refund for the inconvenience.

  • Awesome spot, very close to all the action. Cooling very efficient, highly recommended.

  • Mark’s place has a great location and was fun to stay in! The surrounding area is definitely noisy, so I would not recommend it for anyone who is going for a more relaxed trip in New Orleans. However, the French Quarter is a walk away, and it is in the center of a lot of action!

    Kamila2019-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Marks Place was so clean we felt like we may have been the first people to walk in there. The space is tasteful furnished, giant rooms, beautiful neighbourhood. Must see the back street museum on the same block. Check in was easy. Highly recommend

  • Truedell was helpful and offered lots of good recommendations. Thank you! The apartment is gorgeous with very high ceilings and lovely floors.

  • This unit is wonderful. It is tastefully decorated and in a sensational building. We had everything we needed for our stay. We were only a 15 minute walk from Frenchmen St and there was a huge selection of restaurants close by. If you are in NOLA you can't go wrong with staying in this beautiful apartment.

  • Beautiful house, beautiful location. To all handicap inquirers, please be aware of a fairly large step right at entrance. There is no ramp to get a power wheelchair down this step. We had to lift the heavy chair up and down the step every time we left, and if there weren't 7 people to help we would have had to find somewhere else last minute. If this isn't an issue then it is perfectly accessible. Also bring extra blankets if there are more than 5 people staying, not enough to accommodate 7. I wanted to love this place so bad since it's truly beautiful, but the huge bruises on my arms from lifting a power wheelchair multiple times a day won't let me. - A weary traveled bride from Wisconsin.

  • The apartment is amazing. That’s it.

    Joshua2018-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place was beautiful. The pictures and specifications left me a little unsure, but after talking with the renter I found that this unit had two queen size beds, a pull out couch, and a bunk bed in one of the rooms with a queen. There was also an air mattress that we didn't use. Great location, great shower. Wish I had stayed longer and utilized the kitchen.

  • The condo is beautiful and was perfect for our girls get away. There were 6 women in our party. It was spacious enough for everyone to designate “their” spot. The set up allowed the early birds space to chill and chat without disturbing the late risers. There were two bathrooms, adequate sleeping options. Just perfect!! It was very clean and well stocked if we wanted to cook, but who cooks in NOLA?!?!?!?? The location is perfect too. You’re in walking distance to Bourbon Street/ French Quarter/ St. Charles / the streetcar, but you’re tucked just far enough away to get a good night sleep! There were a few minor hiccups, but Brad was on top of things. He was very attentive and requested we text him if we have any additional issues. He followed back up to make sure the issue had been resolved. Just great customer service. The maintenance guy was very quick, efficient and personable. The only thing I would suggest is they supply two sets of towels per guest at initial check in. Women use a lot of towels, and we needed to wash the first day of our trip. All of us loved the location, the entire feel of the condo. We would definitely stay there again!

  • The apartment was great, clean, comfortable and my family really enjoyed their stay.

    Gerard2017-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our stay was amazing. From how easily reachable our hosts were to the most perfect location. A super walkable location ( you’ll need it for all the delicious food you will be eating ), easy access to everything and a pretty low key neighborhood. We had such a great time and we look forward to coming back!

    Sarah2018-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • The location and aesthetics were incredible! If I could find a place exactly like that, I would happily live there forever! The thoughtful touches, beautiful home, and convenient location to the French Quarter made this the perfect place for our trip with 8!

  • Mat’s studio apartment was exactly as pictured and described. His craftsmanship was evident in the architecture, construction, styling, and outfitting of the space, inside and out. He is a great host! We communicated back and forth several times prior to our arrival and felt like we were being greeted by a friend when we got into town. We weren’t around much (trying to squeeze in more than our schedule would allow at the end of our vacation) but wished we could have gotten to know our host better. He has put a lot of heart into making this a great experience for his guests. Mat has really thought of everything, including preparing a welcome guide that covers safety (much appreciated) and leaves the guesswork out of where to find things. He also had recommendations for dining/drinking/events. The location is in a very nice neighborhood and adjacent to many of the grand homes along the St. Charles streetcar line. We felt safe walking throughout the area even after dark. Mat even provided some beverages and snacks, which was super nice. If we get back to New Orleans in the future, we wouldn’t hesitate to contact Mat again. AirBnB is a great experience because of hosts like Mat!

    Sharon2016-05-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place was as beautiful as the pictures show! Matt was very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. He left us a guide to all of the sight seeing spots along the Streetcar line (which we loved) and recommended some great eateries! We felt very safe and private in the space! That was our biggest concern with being in an area that we have no knowledge of. We couldn't have asked for more and we will definitely be staying again if ever back to NOLA!!

  • This was my first time using Airbnb and was a very positive experience. Excellent host and apartment. Would definitely stay here again if I find myself back in NOLA.

    Tj2016-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place. A must stay if its available.. Close enough to downtown to get there in a jiffy a far enough to get a break if its needed. This and Uber are a perfect combo.

  • Matthew was an amazing host. He greeted us with local beer in the fridge and gave us important information about the city and how to get around. This was my first time in New Orleans, but my partner had been in the city before and stated that this was the better of the two experiences he has had in NO. In fact I wish we would have stayed a few more days because the experience was so cozy and special. If I had a choice I would definitely stay at Matthews beautifully manicured, clean and comfortable space! Thank you for such a wonderful experience, Best wishes! Valerie and William

    Valerie2016-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Matthew was great! He contacted me as soon as I booked, a month prior to my arrival, a week and days within my arrival. I wasn't always able to respond due to my high paced job, but his messages were appreciated. The studio is just as it is pictured. It was so nice and cozy, my boyfriend and I wanted to move in. The amnesties were up to date. He left us local beers and chips which was a delightful added bonus. When we visit Nola again we will more than likely stay at Matthew's place again. The location is GREAT (and private)! Everything you need is just a short drive away and you could even walk. I could go on and on about how great our how stay was. Just know that you won't be disappointed and Matthew will make you feel at home.

    Renalta2016-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • I haven't been to many Airbnb places, but Matthew's place has been by far the best yet!! Matthew went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed! His place is so cute and he really paid attention to detail and has included so many little things like toiletries and kitchen items, like the Keurig, that really says he cares! It even has a full size washer and dryer! I loved it so much, I'm planning on a return trip!! Thank you Matthew, for EVERYTHING!!
