Quinta Vila Rachel is located in the Natural Park of Vale do Tua, in the heart of the Douro Region, with an activity focused on wine tourism and the production of natural and organic wines. There are farm animals and a mediterranean forest with oak, cork oak and arbutus trees. This is an eco-system which we look after with the utter most love and respect. It's our mission to honour, regenerate and preserve this system by respecting its identity including all the elements which take part in it.

Casa da Oliveira

Casa da Oliveira (Casa das Oliveiras-G. Maps) is close to the village of Mesão-Frio (+/- 2 km), the gateway to Douro Vinhateiro. An old house, prior to 1950, was restored and maintains some of the original stone walls. It has 1 bedroom, a toilet, a living room with a sofa bed and an equipped kitchen, AC, TV, Wi-Fi and a barbecue grill outside. The views are magnificent over the region's vineyards and the Douro River. Excellent choice for a few days of rest, a week or a weekend.

In the surrounding area, you can take nature hikes, tours along the Douro and Paiva rivers, visit the Paiva Walkways or discover the charms of the Magic Mountains. You will be welcomed by the host Vitó who, being local and knowing the area, will help you discover the region's charms.

This is a unique space, with stunning views of the waterfall and surrounding nature. Ideal for a weekend of adventure! Come prepared for poor cellular network and slow Wi-Fi, as the location is isolated. On the other hand, the sound of nature takes on a fantastic dimension, with the river water and birds surrounding us completely. Access is made (in the last 500 meters) by land and it is necessary to pay attention to the directions we provide so that you do not get lost.
