Nostalgia

A charming house from the 1800s with a great atmosphere. The property is beautifully located by the lake overlooking Ålesund and Sunnmørsalpene. Only 15 min by car from Ålesund city and the nearest airport, but is still a place that gives peace of mind. Outside the garden there is cultivated land with grazing animals in late summer. The island of Giske itself is a gem with a marble church from the Middle Ages, beaches, untouched nature and bird life. The island was once home to Norway's most powerful noble family, the Arnungs, and is mentioned in the Snorre saga.

The cabin is located right down by the seafront in the harbor of Alnes with panoramic views of both the fjord and the ocean. It is fascinating to watch the bird life and boat traffic. The light changes throughout the day, you can see both sunrise and sunset from the living room window. This is a place where you can find peace. Right outside the living room door there are well-marked, varied hiking trails. You can also go on day trips to Ålesund, Geiranger and Runde. On the neighboring island there is a water sports center with equipment rental.

The basement has a double door, a view of the fjord, and its own toilet/laundry room and refrigerator/freezer.

Enjoy the wonderful view from this idyllic storehouse located on Valderøya outside Ålesund. The hayloft is over a hundred years old, but it has been renovated. NOTE: The storage room has electricity, but not running water or a toilet. Guests can use shower and toilet in the main house which is 30 m away. The bathroom in the main house is only used by you guests and access to the rest of the main house is closed off. There is 5 gallons of water available in the fridge. Frisbeegolfbane og ballbinge like ved, sommeråpen gondol med kafé på Strandafjellet, og Geiranger, Trollstigen og Valldal innen en times kjøring. Kort sagt: en komfortabel base for aktive sommerdager, enten du vil bestige topper eller bare senke tempoet med utsikt over fjellene. Og kommer du om vinteren, går du rett ut på ski.

Surrounded by the Sunnmørsalpene, between Ørsta and Ålesund lies this unique waterfront house. A perfect starting point for mountain hiking and other attractions in Sunnmøre. Within an hour or two you can reach famous places such as Geiranger, Åndalsnes, Loen and the amazing bird island Runde. The Atlantic Park in Ålesund is also worth a visit. In Ørsta, 20 min. away, there are plenty of shops and restaurants.
